is it just me or does anyone feel that Gus was just straight up the token black guy of hexside squad?
he barely gets any development, and any development he does get is overshadowed by the non-black characters (lumity cheek kiss, Hunter, Willow, Amity), out of everyone in the hexside squad he seems to be used the most for comedy, and if you wrote him out of the series completely, youâd lose nothing and probably just have a few plot holes on your hands, which could be easily written around.

weâre a endo system who has been on tumblr for a little bit and are redoing certain aspects of our blog to be a bit more accurate! many of us are nonhuman in the headspace in one way or another (kin, holothere, etc). in addition to this, weâre all collectively a goop dog alien who also has parasites, or as we call them, âbugsâ! we are physically goop, but are usually in a human form as it takes too much effort to intentionally shift so might as well stay in disguise. we are also able to rarely shift into other creatures, such as a jerboa, but we usually stay human or sometimes our true body. originally we were nervous about bringing up the whole physically nonhuman thing, but with the recent in holothere content, we decided to go ahead and show that part of ourselves to tumblr. also, we mostly use the color purple, despite the rainbow username so yeah.

Although Rex is very awkward and introverted, there is a vibrant side of him that few see. He tends to hide it from people he knows because he doesnât like to express venerable parts of himself to people close enough to hurt him even if unintentionally, he doesnât know how to let himself change with people or tell them heâs changed or let the personal parts of himself bleed into the façade he puts up in professional settings and heâs a little embarrassed of it. But anyway, his brothers think Rex is serious and boring and shy, but thatâs because Rex never takes them with him on his escapades. Rex likes hole in the wall bars filled with unruly characters and weed smoke. He likes putting on a little nail polish, eye liner, body shimmer and temporary hair dye when he goes out. He breaks out the secret civi clothes he and Padme picked out and itâs a killer outfit. He has a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a loose fitting crop top and a light leather jacket to match. He has a ton of piercings he hardly wears for safety reasons he puts in just for these occasions. He dances with strangers and smokes like he doesnât need lungs. He gets into drinking competitions with people at the bar and wins every time. Not to mention heâs always getting with people at the end of the night (mans Iâd polyamorous and PULLS). And in those in between hours of the early morning he washes all his makeup off in a bathroom, changes and takes everything of his secret self off and ticks it back away in its secret place, gets a Power Nap in and wakes up bright eyes and bushy tailed giving out orders 2 hours later.

I donât know why, but it makes me so frustrated thinking about how the people constantly bringing up how the owl house was cut whenever criticism is levied against the show, are some of those same people who will turn around and act like steven universe being cut wasnât any good reason as to why the last seasonâs writing may have been poor
