Hand significance with Stan and Ford !! :DD

Something I realized about Stanley and Stanford is their hands. Not just because of the importance of Fords six fingers through the show, but also their hand movements and stuff. Like Stanley is one of the only characters that has fully animated five fingers, while everyone else has four.

First thing, hand gestures seem to be really important to both of them, mainly Stan. It’s for understanding emotion, body language, mood, etc. all the characters move their hands to communicate these things, but Stan does it so much more. Ford is the exact opposite of Stan though as he likes to keep his hands to himself and out of view. Mostly to do with all the ridicule he got, but also to show his up tight and alert behavior.

The rest of the characters have this sort of balance for hand movements and gestures, but Stan and Ford are on both on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Either moving them around more, or limiting movement.

I’ve also took mental note that Stan not being able to have access to his hands distresses him. It would distress anyone! But he uses his hands A LOT, I mean he uses his fists for fighting and has brass knuckles for crying out loud. Ford, unlike Stan, uses long range weapons like guns, so hes able to hide and keep himself closed off unless he absolutely needed to start fighting in close range.

This is also most likely why Stan enjoyed boxing and Ford didn’t because their fighting styles are unique to how much they want, and use their hands.

Just a neat detail I noticed, because even when I look at fan art, I can see how important it is to draw their hands, no matter the position. Because subconsciously, we just realized “oh yeah! This is very important to their body language!”

Writing fan fiction is hard. I haven’t even started chapter 2 of my own gravity falls fanfic and I’m already burnt out. Like??? How do ppl write 52 chapters???? I’m a drawer, not a writer 😰

Sosososososo this silly au is more about Stanford and rottmnt bad future. The idea is that when he was moving through the multiverse, he ended up in the bad future ! Everything’s so destroyed that he assumes hes in a blank, dystopian, planet area. It’s all red, everywhere and it’s rocky. There’s like a slight resemblance of a city, but it’s too destroyed for him to actually make out wtf it is.

Anyways, Stanford finds himself about to get attacked and killed by a krang hound BUT BOOM Leonardo ninja turtle saves him 🙀 and he’s like “hey dude, where tf are you from?” And when he just got like no answer, he took Stanford back to the resistance base. Ofc, both of them were very wary with each other cause Leo doesn’t fully know if the guy is even safe and Ford is just rightfully paranoid considering he sees no human life in sight at the moment.

They do end up being besties once they figure out that they won’t actually kill each other though! Ford takes his time in this particular dimension cause it’s a nice break from literally everything else, but he does eventually leave with the help of Leo and Mikey cause shit was getting really fucked.

Ough sorry this was a long ass rant BUT AAAA :D
