✨ The REAL Tea on Astro-Styling ✨ Part 1

There was a huge trend of "dressing like your Venus sign", but it was quickly followed up by the counter trend of "dress like your rising sign", so the major question became— "who do I listen to?"

Here's the TRUTH. They are both just two parts of the entire picture. In this series of post, I'm presenting you with a multi-part mini guide to curating your own unique style based on your personal astrology blueprint— not the generic stuff.

I will admit, this is going to take some work on your part, but I'm going to break it down over multiple posts. Once we get through the guidelines, I'll be following up with examples from real people's charts along with created looks for them based on what I see using ShopLook.

Let's get started!

♀️ Your Venus sign is what you're attracted to and serves as a way to attract what you desire— magnetizing yourself for abundance. Yet, only dressing like your Venus sign can be a bit superficial. Thus, the counter push of dressing like your rising sign.

🌄 Dressing like your rising sign is akin to donning your own unique essence in clothing form. It serves as an extension and expression of YOU. It's how you can dress that will make you feel most like you. However, this isn't everything you really need to know to create a fully informed astro-wardrobe.

Now, this is going to look like quite a bit at first, so don't panic. And don't worry if you don't understand everything right off the bat. I'm going to help you break it down. You can always ask questions in the comments/reblogs and feel free to message me. I will help as I can.

These are my guidelines for curating your personal astro-style—

Rising sign/1H, rising sign lord placement, 1H planets/points, tight conjunctions (☌) with 1H cusp and rising sign lord (≤2° orb) The rising sign is the foundation of your style and allows your essence to show through.

4H, 4H lord placement, 4H planets/points, planets/points ≤2° orb ☌ w/4H cusp and 4H sign lord The 4H is where you buy your clothes from, as well as the type of fabrics you prefer to wear.

Venus placement, Venus's sign lord placement, planets/points ≤2° orb ☌ w/Venus and Venus's sign lord Your Venus placement will speak to your outer wear (coats, purses/bags) and what you adorn yourself with (jewelry, hair pieces, and makeup).

Neptune placement, Neptune's sign lord placement, planets/points ≤2° orb ☌ w/Neptune and Neptune's sign lord Your Neptune placement will speak to the type of *glamour* you can choose to tap into. However, it's more like an aura or illusion that can add to your look, but it's subtle.

I know right off the bat, that seems like a lot, but not all of these things are going to happen in your chart, so keep that in mind. This is just to cover all the bases. And conjunctions with the sign ruler have less of an effect the bigger the orb to 2°. But I'll talk about this in the examples I present to you as I go along with this series!

✨ The Breakdown ✨

🌄 your rising sign, the ruling planet's placement (house, sign, & tight conjunctions), and any planets in the 1H— note if there are planets in a different sign, because their ruling planet is different and can also bring in more complex energies into the synthetization.

👉🏽 Why is This Important?

I'll use both of my kids as a good example. They're both Gemini risings, but Mercury, Gemini's ruler, is in two different signs for them and influences them differently already.

My daughter has Mercury debilitated in Pisces 10H and she loves feminine sparkly, flowy dresses. But my son has Mercury in Aquarius 9H conjunct Juno and his style is ... Well, it's a bit all over the place and he's got the soul of an old man sometimes. 😅 His style, especially as he ages, could be strongly influenced by his travels/other cultures or even spiritual/religious teachings he may follow.

Their Gemini energy comes through changing outfits multiple times a day. As a Virgo stellium mum, on the opposite side of the Mercury coin, I'll admit this drives me crazy and they know. But I also understand leaving room for them to experiment with their styles and have fun. Granted, they also have additional points in their 1H, which will change & shift the energies as well. But regardless, you can already see that even though they're the same rising sign, they're not created equal— this is why rulership placement is important.

Although the rising sign, its ruler, and other possible 1H planetary expressions combine to influence your style, the fourth house rules the type of place you'll buy clothing from and they type of fabrics you like to wear.

In my chart (tropical), I have Sagittarius on the 4H cusp w/Vesta, Uranus Rx, Saturn Rx, and Neptune Rx in Capricorn along with Jupiter exalted and joyful-- Cancer 10H/11wsH. And in the sidereal system, I have Hygeia in Scorpio in the 4H with Mars in Leo 1H. I tend to wear a lot of dark colors like black and burgundy/dark red, but not always. I also wear whites and golds. I prefer well structured garments that fit my body. When I'm able to, I get clothes made out of Khmer silk (main maternal ancestry), but I also love fashion from many Asian countries through which I have different branches of my maternal lineage (Indian, Chinese, Polynesian/Hawaiian). I prefer clothes that are built to last over fast fashion. I prefer traditional tailored clothing over clothes that are built for the collective as a one size fits all.

So the 1H and the 4H create the foundation of your style, but now Venus comes into play! We'll dive into this and more on the next post!

Some Themed Asks for your Gem OCs

I always enjoy these little ask games to help build up lore about my characters, but so many of them are too human in scope for my Gem OCs- thus, I decided to throw together a set of Steven Universe specific questions for all of your OC and gemsona desires.

Questions are sorted into "eras" thematically. Enjoy!

Era 1:

📝 Emotion, atmosphere and environment: A writing exercise for show-don't-tell

Before we go any further, I want to make it clear that I'm not aggressively against telling. Sometimes telling works for a whole bunch of valid reasons. If you know me at all, you'll be aware of where I stand on the issue of narrow, prescriptive writing rules (if you don't know me, hi, I despise narrow, prescriptive writing rules)

But "How do I show instead of telling?" is still a thing a lot of newer writers have difficulty with and that's what I'd like to dig into. So here's a writing exercise you could try to help build depth and atmosphere around the emotion your character is feeling...

🧠 First of all, pick an emotional experience.

For illustrative purposes, I'm going with LOSS. Then express that emotional experience in ways that can be perceived physically. The following are just suggestions, not an exhaustive list.

🎨 How could the emotion be expressed as a colour?

Grey, maybe. Slate grey. Or a muted petrol blue, perhaps.

🔊 How could the emotion be expressed as a sound?

Deep silence interrupted only by the sound of a ticking clock.

👋 How could the emotion be expressed as a physical action?

Your hand reaching to grasp for comfort out of habit and hope, fingers curling around something remembered, then dropping back to the coldness of the other side of the bed, empty.

🌄 How could the emotion be expressed as a weather condition or natural phenomenon?

The storm passed an hour ago, leaving only an occasional flurry of sleet that melts on contact with the window, sliding down the glass like tears. Outside, a tree that shed its leaves in autumn bows in tired silhouette against the halo of a single streetlight.

��� How could the emotion be expressed as a room?

Your nightstand holds the bottle of water you filled before trudging upstairs at midnight, your phone still plugged in even though the battery was full three hours ago, and the glasses you'll put on again as soon as you wake up after sleep eventually manages to swallow you. The nightstand on the other side of the bed holds a small tear-off calendar showing November eighteenth even though it's now January second and a book lying open and face-down with the spine sinking into itself. In the corner of the room, there's a chair with clothes carelessly draped over it a month and a half ago that you still can't bring yourself to put in the laundry. It's four o'clock in the morning and you'd give anything to hear breathing that wasn't your own.

You could try it for different emotions and different situations, in isolation and then connected to something you're in the process of writing.

How could anger, for example, be expressed differently in an office environment compared to a wilderness landscape? How could joy be shown in summer versus winter? How could fear be embodied in high fantasy compared to cyberpunk?

If relating environments to emotions doesn't click for you straight away, could you focus on single-sense experiences for a while? What colour is regret? What does anticipation taste like?

If you have synesthesia (hello, fellow synesthetes!) this could be a wild ride, but hopefully it'll also be fun and useful for anyone having difficulty connecting to the idea of show-don't-tell.

Good morning 🌄 In case you missed the news, I wanted to remind everyone that The Baudelaires are starting fresh. But I'd like to make note of a few things.

I have moved the old Baudelaire content to this blog for organizing purposes (still need to pick a theme and tag everything though). Their posts will still be here but I wanted to free up their tags but still make it available to read chronologically if desired. So I figured this would be the easiest way to do that.

The Baudelaires will still feature poses and whatnot. Like I'm not going to only be doing gameplay and this is still a story after all. But, unlike in the past, I'm going to try and use the game to determine the personalities, interests, hobbies, etc. and roll with some of the randomness it throws at me, and use the challenge rules to determine their fates where it calls for it.

We will be doing away with realistic aging. I went back and forth on this a ton and have decided that for the sake of gameplay, and my busy schedule, this is the easiest way for me to play and keep track of things. I also feel it won't get me sucked in too deep / heavy into exclusively posing and keep me interested in actually playing my pixels. I also really want to be able to enjoy each decade for longer and lean into tropes from the decades and feel this is the best way for me to do that.

Sadly, I'm also going to do away with telling an Irish history perspective. It was really hard to make that decision and it's still a hyper fixation of mine, but it feels like a larger project than I can handle right now. In the future, I think it could be really cool to explore that with a realistic timeline but, for now, we will put that to rest and save it for another day.

I really hope people aren't too disappointed with this choice and still feel connected to my story regardless, even if it's a bit less realistic. I'm feeling a little insecure about this decision solely for the fact most decades challenges use a realistic aging / time progression system and really like to lean into the realism aspect of it all. However, I know at the end of the day, this is supposed to be for me and this is what is best for where I'm at in life right now.

I also would like to add that I admire whatever way people choose to play their game and my decision is not a reflection of me not liking or enjoying the content that exists in this space. I adore the stories, and the dedication people have for telling a story that means something to them, regardless if they consider themselves more storytelling, gameplay or a mixture of both.

And to end on a happier note, I've been on my last vacation for the year so I have a lot in the queue and will be doing daily posts Monday - Friday, otherwise I'm going to get too far ahead of where you guys are in the story. If the queue starts to run out, I'll switch to Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday again. Baudelaires return starting on Monday morning @ 10:00 am cst! :3 Be there or be square 🫵🏻

Quick tangent regarding the title itself: I have been considering the headcanon that in order to become King or Queen, a sovereign must share the throne with a spouse; hence why Peach was always referred to as "Princess" throughout her life despite being the sole ruler of her realm, and would be designated as such until the day she would finally announce her marital union with Mario. It would be the equivalent of calling her a maiden, so to speak!

Mario's royal title would only be in actual use after the wedding ceremony, but I imagine that most toads would already whisper it excitedly among themselves as soon as he and Peach would officially start courting. The words "future king" would be on everyone's lips, and he would inevitably hear those in a few hushed conversations while taking Peach on various romantic excursions in town.

It would feel... odd, to say the least. Naturally, he would worry; fearing that he may not be remotely qualified to handle such a colossal responsibility nor have what it takes to rule a kingdom. But Peach would be quick to reassure him, reminding him of his great benevolence and noble heart. Of his undaunted courage and tremendous selflessness. Of all the things that really do make him a gifted and most wonderful leader. She would be there to assist and guide him, showing him how most administrative tasks are delegated to committees and that sharing the workload throughout the castle is very important. She would tell him this with a knowing smile, alluding to his less than healthy habit of always handling things on his own, and with her help, he would gradually become more accustomed to the idea.

To his own surprise, it would reveal to be a lot less intimidating and complicated than he had previously thought. The role itself would be fairly manageable, albeit monopolizing and mentally tiring on some days. Mario would come to miss the leisure and spare time that he once had in vast quantities, and seeing the reverence with which others would now treat him would leave him with a bittersweet and wistful sort of nostalgia everytime. But seeing the unfathomable love in Peach's eyes and the proud admiration in Luigi's would never fail to comfort him, and he would fulfill his duties with unprecedented diligence.

Throughout the years, Mario's reputation would only spread and gain in splendor, and he would later be known as the greatest king any realm has ever had. 🌄🏰

MARS, the planet of ACTION: What type of exercise Mars in each sign makes me think of

Note: this is not necessarily advice about exercise to consider based on your Mars sign. So many things in the chart and the individual’s life will tweak the picture. Being that I’m a 6th house Mars who’s making it a goal lately to exercise daily (or most-daily😆) because I see the benefits for my mental and physical health of having intentional physical activity in my routine, this is just my musings on the type of exercise that comes to mind first/strongest when thinking about the archetypes of each sign. ✨

Mars in Aries- lifting weights/strength training 🏋️‍♀️ Mars at home! I thought about maybe also going with martial arts for this one! ❤️‍🔥 Mars/Aries does have a strong purpose for defense. As the first sign in the zodiac, Aries’ archetype is also that of a straightforward, more simple and direct energy. To simply get buff seems like quite the way to pay tribute to this potent combined yang energy! 💪

Mars in Taurus- Yoga 🧘🏽‍♂️ Taurus needs something at a bit slower of a physical pace, and the very conscientious attention yoga places on your relationship with your body is very Taurus/2nd house. Plus every Taurus rising I’ve ever known has been into meditation and/or yoga. 🤷‍♀️ Always looking for the calmest ways to do things! 🧘‍♀️

Mars in Gemini- Running 🏃🏻‍♀️ idk this just seems like a flighty Mars sign! 🏃‍♂️🚀💨

Mars in Cancer- In-home exercise, regardless of type, is what immediately comes to mind! Maybe a really pimped out Mars in Cancer would have an in-home pool.💧😂 🏊‍♀️🏠

Mars in Leo- Dancing! 💃🏻🕺🏼This is my Mars sign and never been a dancer, so this goes to show how I’m just thinking about the archetypes of the signs. But the Sun’s gotta shine/will get noticed 🌞 and dancing also is so highly CREATIVE. ♌️

Mars in Virgo- Gymnastics 🤸🏿‍♀️ I’m just so impressed with the precision♍️ in the routines of gymnasts. Perhaps Pilates is another example, that’s a little more common place. I personally avoid any exercise that requires attention to precise detail as it gets my Mars worked up in a bad way😤… so more power to anyone who’s built to like this type of exercise!

Mars in Libra- Ballet 🩰 The pure archetype of Libra is grace. Enough said.

Mars in Scorpio- whichever combat sport or martial art is the slyest. 😂 Mars at home I think could be quite motivated to be fighting somebody; but Scorpio’s gonna be concerned with technique, not in it to make a big bold scene. 🤺

Mars in Sagittarius- Hiking 🥾🌄🌲 Or biking! 🚴🏻‍♀️ The sign built for exploring. Hiking is always an adventure. You never quite know what you’ll see even when you’re hiking nature trails you’ve hiked before. And it tends to be a popular activity when visiting new places. ✈️

Mars in Capricorn- Climbing 🧗🏽‍♂️ Climbing has an obvious association with Capricorn. 🐐🌄 And Caps could always use inspiration to reach some pinnacle! 🙏 Also, fun fact, Saturn is the planet that rules the skeletal system and muscles in medical astrology. 🩻 Climbing works basically every muscle in your body!

Mars in Aquarius- some eccentric aerial sport. 😂 I don’t know much about anything in this area, I just know something that’s done in the air 🌬️ and something that’s unusual makes me think of Aquarius! ♒️

Mars in Pisces- Swimming 🏊‍♀️ I’m giving the final water💧sign, the one most like the vastness of the whole ocean, this official association with swimming. Related fun fact: my Piscean🌞 grandmother was the one who taught me how to swim (and was very delighted to do it). 💙

Bonus thoughts, from a Mars conjunct Venus: it’s really worth considering exercise that puts you in nature if you too have this conjunction, or Venus in harmonious aspect with Mars!🌲🌷 On this note, I’d think of Mars-Mercury being suited for things that are also exercise for the mind, Mars-Sun being suited for daytime outside exercise, Mars-Moon being a good fit for nighttime exercise, and exercise in new places or that doesn’t follow a set routine being suited for Mars-Jupiter!

VIRGO ECLIPSE

The first eclipse of this cycle is a Lunar (Full Moon) Eclipse in Virgo. Full Moons tend to expose and extrapolate that which needs removing and clearing from our lives. In Virgo, what gets highlighted may have to deal with our health, work, education, or just the practical and mundane dealings of those circumstances.

With Mercury (Virgo’s ruling planet) set to station Retrograde early on March 15, this Eclipse will emphasize the nature of what needs to be worked through during the Retrograde period.

Eclipses bring unpredictable energy to the collective, and residuals any work done during this time can potentially have a chaotic quality to them. If you can use this to your benefit, more power to you. If not, this Full Moon may be one to just rest, reflect, and prepare for the continued Retrograde cycle in the next month or so.

Ah, how I love the feeling of a new diary! The vigor of a new adventure unfolding. I still need to find a safe place for my old journals.. my many old journals.. but permeant storage is scarce. Thus is the life of a traveler. Nonetheless; while on my way to Scaleswind, I happened upon a small village by the name of "Phoenix Drop". It's in quite the dire state. The Lord and Lady were presumed missing weeks ago, and the only thing holding up the failing community is the head Guard, Garroth, who seems to be terribly out of his depth. I know, I know! I shouldn't get involved. But something about this place is.. calling me. I feel strangely at home here, a feeling I've long forgotten about. It wouldn't be so terrible to stay just a little while longer, could it?

ㅤ 🗡 ˗ˏˋ DESCRIPTION .ᐟ ㅤ

The village of Phoenix Drop is crumbling. Its missing Lord abandons the town and leaves behind a deteriorating foundation—until a lone traveler takes matters into her own hands. Tirelessly, she works to restore the small community. With each passing day, recovery looks eminent, and soon, she’ll be onto her next adventure. But a simple act of kindness has just set in motion unpredictable events.

Heavy responsibilities. Boundless new experiences ahead. Impending doom always right around the corner. Prophetic destinies left in stone.

Does our adventurer have what it takes to be a leader? Or will the pressure destroy her—and everything she loves?

My reality largely follows the main plot of the series, with a few tweaks here and there. FOR INSTANCE, the biggest plot change I've made is that the whole "going into the Irene Dimension and 15 years passing in the Overworld" thing never happens. It makes me too sad☝ I've also fleshed out/re-written a lot of the worldbuilding, which I'm quite a fan of!! I've changed the Divine Warriors lore, main antagonists, the Meif'wa and and Lupine species, and even added in new species/regions like MERMAIDS!!! I still really want to expand more aspects, like Zoey's birthplace (the Yggdrasil Forest) or each region, so when I do I'll be sure to make posts about them because yapping is fun!! ㅤ

ㅤ 🗡 ˗ˏˋ BACKGROUND LORE .ᐟ ㅤ

Lord Malik originally led Phoenix Drop. He was a decent ruler—cared for his people—but was rather inexperienced and lazy. Garroth was appointed head Guard by Malik pretty quickly, considering Phoenix Drop has always been a rather small village. Malik ruled as Lord for a few years before being killed by Shadow Knights. His wife and child went missing the same night. It's still unknown why his family was targeted, but regardless of the reason, it left the village without a leader. Garroth launched an investigation to find... no evidence. You can imagine the amount of stress that comes with this situation; a Guard who's way in over his head, not knowing how to be a leader, and the citizens who are highly suspicious and afraid their families might be next. THAT'S WHERE I COME IN!! But more on that in the next post😇 ㅤ

Celestia may have been the golden child and had the attention from both the court and common ponies but what she truly wanted over everything else was the throne. If she had the throne then the sun will forever shine over equestria against the evil darkness.She just needed to take it away from her older sister. She truly believed she could have been a better ruler than her no good older sister. So celestia collected sun supporters and tried go stage a coup. It didn’t work because Luna is to powerful and she has her own moon supporters so the battle of the two sisters turned into a flown blown civil war. Celestia tried to gain an upper hand in battle against her sister by using the elements of harmony. But the elements of harmony won’t let themselves be used for selfish purposes so her powers were observed from her and she was defeated.
