I've decideeeed to do a "draw fast" experiment this week. Basically: given a sketch I already have on hand, I have to get to "finish" (new line art, flats, & shading) in under two hours - the closer to 1hr, the better.

The idea with this is that, like... trying to get a fast time will keep me from sitting and overthinking things, then fidgeting with it. I just gotta get stuff on the page. Don't know how, if at all, it'll help my art, but I think it'll be fun.

I figured my "three iteration" sketches I did last week were good ones to use, so have some Leo's for today. This one was at 1hr 32min.

Fmabruary day 1: "Crossover" FMA x Soul Eater

I have not watched any usagi episodes but these are the leosagi vibes ive picked up on based on clips

1987 - Leo sees that he's so sweet and that makes him so cute and Leo most definitely tried to spend time with him. Does he know its a crush? Idk. At least one brother suspects it. Usagi on the other hand has zero clue about it

2003 - Leo has a crush and Leo knows about it. Usagi saved his life and he went full maiden swoon. He doesnt plan to act on it but he does realistically have a chance with Usagi (a animal-person his age) and that makes it worse. His brothers know. His dad knows. Everyone knows. Usagi does not know. Usagi knows his own feelings though. We are talking mutual pining for the foreseeable future. One of them finally decides to do something about it and right before he acts he finds out about Jotaro's existence and everything gets put on halt

2012 - its a hate-crush. Leo hates that Usagi is a good person and right half the time and is better than him at sword fighting. He also likes him for all those exact things. Its complicated. He doesn't want to work it out. Mikey figures it out first. The age difference just makes it funnier for Mikey. Casey tried to help him feel better by talking about how he had the biggest crush on his 6th grade teacher and Leo wants to fake his own death

The way the 03 fma anime leans into the tragedy of Nina and Alexander by having the Elric brothers meet them BEFORE Ed becomes a state alchemist. Ed and Al live with the Tuckers for months (at least 4)* while studying for the state alchemist exam, they eat meals together, play together, and all sleep under the same roof. When the time for the exam comes Nina and Alexander go with the brothers every time, offering encouragement beforehand and waiting outside until it's over so she can ask them how it went. Al mentions how living with the Tuckers makes it feel like how things were before their mom died, like they're part of a real family again. They love this little girl and her dog, they really fit themselves into the roles of her big brothers. It really makes the fate of this girl hit all the harder when she's not just a child the brothers knew for a few days and felt a connection with, but one who they've come to know very well and who they really considered to be family.

* We know the Elrics lived with the Tuckers for at least 4 months because in the episode prior to their meeting (about a day) Gracia Hughes is mentioned to be 5 months pregnant. The brothers + Nina are present when she gives birth, so we know the brothers have been living with the Tuckers for 4 months at this point. It is unclear how much more time passes after that until the Nina incident.
