I'm a big fan of @some-triangles Utena liveblog from a few years back, that was the first thing that really opened my eyes to what was going on in the series.

Isaac also has a podcast, Wizards vs Lesbians about the sci fi/fantasy subgenre about two girls in love and the powerful asshole they have to escape to be together. They did an episode on Utena here:

@empty-movement's analysis page is where I've found the most good essays (besides randomly searching the rgu analysis tag on tumblr). There's a TON of stuff that I most definitely have not read all of, but some of my favorites/most relevant ones include:

Playing Prince (on Utena's prince complex)

Motive and Source (on the Student Council members' reasons for dueling)

Pulling Swords Out of People (on the Black Rose duelists and their relationships with the Student Council members)

Zarinthel's Utena analyses (explores a variety of Utena themes in pairs)

finally, my biggest artwork so far... i wanted to draw Utena and Anthy as Bouguereau's Pietà, but in the end i couldn't resist adding the other characters! RGU holds a very special place in my heart, so i hope i did them justice ❤️

i need finish reading this book because i got half way through and i really wanted to look up fanart because everything described sounded so cool but then i got spoiled for the ending of the first book and it just turned me off of reading it 😭 i really like gideon and harrow though and i was enjoying the book a lot !! so im going to give it another try on the train on my way to see my friend. theyr the one who gifted the book to me actually haha
