沖縄の壷屋焼という陶芸品をつくるのに、以前は足回し式のろくろを使って、粘土を形作っていきました。現代では電気で回転させるのですが、足で回して回転の速さなども微調整しながら扱っていたようです。昔のほうが、伝統的な美しい陶芸品が完成していたのかもしれません。写真は無料でダウンロードできるようにしていますので自由に利用してください。

To create Tsuboya pottery, a traditional craft from Okinawa, potters used to shape the clay using a foot-operated wheel. Nowadays, the wheel is powered by electricity, but in the past, potters would control the speed and make fine adjustments with their feet. It seems that the traditional method might have resulted in more beautiful and authentic pottery pieces. Feel free to use the photos, which are available for free download.

こちらはお世話になったいけばなの先生がお花をいけられたの。

薪や藁、灰が織りなす自然の景色。絵を描いてるわけじゃないのに、それぞれ個性があります。

私は白いところが天の川のように見えたり、満月に何かが掛かってるように見えたり、朝焼けのようだったり夜空のように見えました。

丸い壺も三角の花入も、どこを正面にするかで印象が変わりますね。以前、美術館の展示で、自然が偶然に作り出した景色は、ひとつとして同じところがありません。見る人の数だけ違う正面があるのです。っていうのがあって、それを思い出しました。

あなたならどう飾りますか？という問いにお花をいけて答えてくださっています。

いろいろお話も聞けて興味深かったです。

2023年秋の窯焚きで、最高の出来だった花瓶。

花は生けるより、野に生えている姿の方が好きだった。けれど、テーブルにたった一輪あるだけで、場が華やぐことを教わった。

卓上の花も良いね。
