Inari fox shrine on top of Aqua City in Odaiba. You'll be surprised how many shrines stand on top of shopping malls in Tokyo. Me being me, I'm always looking for Inari fox shrines - and Inari is super popular, being the god of rice, harvest and family, among others. Here, there's also an omikuji stand - which seemed not to be working properly on that day though. The day we visited the shrine I also got a hand reading from one of the fortune tellers in the mall. あっという間に今年最後の一日。

“王子稲荷の狐火”

狐火の名所として知られるこの地はその昔、一本の大きな榎の木があり、大晦日の夜に関東中の狐たちが集まったそう。農民はその狐火の行列の数を数え、翌年の豊凶を占ったとか。

来年は妖怪や妖精をたくさん描きたいなと思います。もちろんいい一年になりますように！

"Oji Inari Fox Fire"

This place, known as a famous spot for “Fox Fire” used to be large changing tree, and foxes from all over Kanto would gather there on New Year's Eve. Farmers would count the number of fox fires and predict the next year's harvest.

I'd love to draw lots of “Ayakashi” calls as Yokai and Fairies next year. And of course, Do wish my luck!

鳥山先生のことが頭から離れずにお参りした日に引いたおみくじ 突然こんな日がくるなんて、 こんなにでっかく空いた胸の穴を実感するなんてと、 よろよろ歩きながら、ひいた。 半吉とあるが励ましてくれるような良い（優しい）内容だなと感謝しながら結ぼうとしたときに、挿絵におどろいた こんなことってあるのけ・・・？ まさかの鳥と、山の絵、 よく読むと文章に”明”の文字🐦⛰️ 神さまが慰めてくれたとしか思えない 神の愛を、めちゃくちゃ感じたし やっぱり鳥山明は神様なんだとおもった。🐦😇ﾉ"(っ <。)  思えば８８番という数字も、 縁起が良いし無限と∞がふたつある。 鳥山明が永遠に続く気がした　∞∞

鳥山先生、 残りの人生 心臓はとっくに捧げてますが 最大の愛と尊敬と感謝をささげ続けます 最初から最後まで鳥山明だったそういう人生にします 本当に長い間、お疲れさまでした 有難うございました！
