Talking about pranks how about a silly one where they kissed Mc but she wipes it just to joke with them? 😂

The moment Evan’s lips leave yours you take a step back and—while keeping eye contact—you wipe your mouth with the back of your hand. He visibly stills and, maintaining the slight bend in his waist and your close distance to each other, you can feel his appraising gaze like a physical entity. You struggle to suppress the laugh that bubbles in your chest and keep your expression passive, curious about his reaction to your prank of “rejecting” his kiss.

There is a beat of silence.

Then Evan straightens up and brushes his hands down the sides of your arms, straightening the nonexistent wrinkles on your shirt from his earlier kiss, and when his left hand reaches your right hand he takes it in his palm like usual in your every morning routine as if nothing had happened earlier.

“Shall we head out?” He asks.

You cannot read anything unusual in his tone or eyes. Everything is normal. Everything is so normal that you almost doubt you did anything earlier and that the whole scene had just been a scenario you imagined. But the keyword is almost. You know what you did and, technically, you also saw Evan react. The reaction simply wasn’t noteworthy. You decide to declare this prank a failure and that if you wanted to get an interesting reaction out of Evan you would have to try harder.

Hiding the small sense of disappointment at being thwarted, you nod to him. “Yup, all ready.”

You miss the trace of scarlet-red that turns slowly in the depths of Evan’s eyes.

The rest of the day passes as normal. Work goes smoothly. Lunch with Evan goes smoothly. Work continues to go smoothly. Before you know it, another day is over and you’re already returning home with Evan. After passing through the door, you habitually turn to him, closing your eyes as he leans down, and raise your face for the customary “welcome home” kiss—the counterpart to the “seeing off” kiss in the morning.

You wait.

And you wait.

And you wait some more.

But the usual kiss doesn’t come for a long time and you crack open your eyes only to see pools of mahogany filled with gentle amusement. Evan is paused a hair’s breadth away from you and, now that you’re paying attention, you can feel the gentle puffs of air that come from his nose land on your cheeks.

“Why did you stop?” You ask, bewildered.

The amusement in Evan’s eyes deepen, making the red of his eyes richer. “A little lady rejected my kiss in the morning, so now I’m afraid I am unsure of my welcome.”

As he speaks he lowers his eyes and his long and dense eyelashes sweep down like a fan, coyly concealing his emotions. You know this is a trap. You know him too well. But this action makes him look obedient and vulnerable, despite being a head taller than you, and your fingers twitch at this devastating cuteness. To make matters worse, after a beat of silence passes and he doesn’t get a reaction from you, Evan glances up into your eyes from beneath his lashes.

You succumb.

You reach up to grab the collar of his dress shirt to pull him in and close your eyes to kiss him. His lips vibrate against yours from the low chuckle that his throat emits and it’s as if his laugh passes through his mouth into your mouth to slide into your chest, because you find yourself quivering with laughter against him too.

A smile presses to a smile, and deepens into something more.

Evan raises hand to cup the back of your head, his fingers feathering through your hair, as he tilts his head slightly, his tongue dancing with yours. Your hands have dropped his shirt collar long ago to wrap your arms around his neck and rest them on the broad expanse of his shoulders, and you can feel the movement of his muscles as he wraps his other arm around your waist to pull you harder against him, squeezing out any space between both of your bodies.

His breath that splays on your cheek grows heavier the longer the kiss goes on, but your lungs are already tight from a lack of air and so you dig your fingers into the back of his suit jacket and tug until he releases your mouth. The sound of your ragged breathing explodes into the air immediately.

“You’re incorrigible,” you gasp against him.

He kisses you once more before responding, letting your lower lip slide out slowly from between his lips. ��Then I must thank my little rabbit for her magnamity.”
