I will always be a normal guy defender, I don't want vigilantes who always look like super models unless it makes sense for their characters (Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Kori Anders). I want super-heros that look like the guy you could stumble on the supermarket. Your classmate. Your coworker. A random face in a ocean of people. Absolutely and completely forgetful unless you love them.

I want super-heros to take of their mask and the person be like "THAT'S JUST SOME GUY." their face leak and people be like "WHO 🗣️🗣️ THE FUCK IS THAT⁉️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥" enough with conventionally attractive heros who look like bodybuilders more some heros who would be your Uber driver and you wouldn't pay attention to them twice.

But there's no way Nate should know those things. No way the client could have told him, no way he could've figured it out on his own. Not when these things were nothing more than fleeting thoughts from the mark. But Sophie notices him quietly go for the scotch behind the counter and rub at his head in pain with extra vehemence some days despite the latest con having no personal connection to him.

They don't talk about it.

But someone should've recognized Sophie on that con. There's no way she could have that many characters per con. No way none of those diplomats didn't recognize her from any of her previous cons. Not when she didn't change any more than her clothes and accent. But Nate notices her features seem to flicker at the peace and safety of home when she thinks he isn't watching.

They don't talk about it.

But no one could've survived that. And certainly not looking the way he does. There's no way he didn't come out of that fight broken and bloodied to all hell. Not when instead he walks out with a purposeful stride and only a clenched jaw, rolling his shoulders. But when he's cooking and accidentally burns himself, Parker notices the unmarked skin left behind.

They don't talk about it.

But not all vents are human sized. They all saw the size of the vent cover as she exists with a grin. There's no way she could've fit in there. Not when the human body can't bend that way, a way that even the greatest contortionist can't bend. But some days Hardison notices as she seems to stretch and bend before his eyes when she's feeling relaxed and safe enough.

They don't talk about it.

But that's not how computers work. There's no way Hardison could access that kind of thing. Not when he describes how he did it like that. Not when he does it so quickly like that. Not when he says he's taken berries and the next thing they know he's recreated a colonial era journal to perfection. But Eliot swore he shoved a glass of water at him, not more goddamn orange soda.

They don't talk about it, the thing lingering over their heads as they conduct each con, the unacknowledged thing between the five of them that's a little deeper than just a desire to take down the rich and powerful.

They aren't perfect, they all know that- sometimes they're too good with their covers, sometimes they have to shift gears as the con unfolds before them, but somehow things always seem to work out.

But no one asks about it, so-

interesting to me how miles' ambition was to become a scientist researching interdimensional travel. not necessarily because this is weird, but because he said 'fuck spider-man and fuck new york, i'm gonna get a degree in an entirely different state, you can survive without me'. he's more than just spider-man, in a way that isn't commonly seen. peter b doesn't have another job. when mj asks him how work was, she's referring to the spider society. jess and miguel don't have jobs. they wouldn't be able to devote so much of their time to running the place if they had jobs. the most commonly seen spider-man canon has spider-man as either a crime fighter for a career or a photographer of spider-man. basically a professional selfie-taker. not really a real job or career. just an easy way to make money. and their ambitions further than that aren't showcased. but with miles it's the opposite. he subverts expectations as spider-man. and he knows that he's more than just spider-man too

parker and hardison genuinely make me feel so fucking feral. they literally makeout in season one but it doesn't make me feel anywhere near as crazy as their cheek kiss in the grave danger job. the nose touch when they're dancing in the queen's gambit job - pride and prejudice hand flex levels of insanity.

No, but Deadpool's crush on Spidey is so cute!

Bro out here wanting to be a better person bcuz of Spidey. He really out here stopping Spidey from killing a Itsy Bitsy, despite being a murder himself, bcuz he didn't want Spidey to break his moral code. He canonically gushes about Spidey to his daughter and got all embarrassed when she repeated what he said back to Spidey. He goes out of his way to impress Spidey. He trusts Spidey a lot. He got embarrassed when Spidey saw that he was in Deadpool's free-pass list. He causes problems on purpose to get Spidey's attention. He likes to hold his hand because "it helps him focus." He couldnt focus on wjat Spidey was telling him because Spidey said, "I need you." He likes listening to his voice bcuz he thinks it's calming. He likes to hug Spiderman a lot. He's literally KILLED himself for Peter to save him.

I just needed to gush. Deadpool's thing is that he's supposed to be gender blind, but then the comics don't commit to that bcuz they only take his relationship with women seriously, and then treating his attraction to men as a joke bcuz the cishet men reading and writing this cant possibly fathom queerness not being a joke. I love this series bcuz Deadpool's crush on Spidey actually means something, and even if they don't end up together (they are heartmates though and Spiderman is somewhat implied to have at least some feelings for him (read first panels in the reblog)), it's still so nice to see

Peter, the absolute NERD that he is, would hero worship The Flash on Iron Man level.

Like, you're telling me the kid who loves science wouldn't be absolutely enamored with a hero who can run so fast he can cross dimensions? Go backwards AND forwards in time? No way Jose.
