Hobie Brown is the best representation of authentic punk culture I’ve personally ever seen in media

I feel like most “punk” characters are just visually alternative, and maybe a little “stick it to the man”, but that’s about it. They ultimately don’t stick the landing when it comes to the values the punk community has

But Hobie does!!! He backs his words up with his actions! He sticks to what he believes in, causes chaos, fights fascists, is an instigator, is anti-establishment (including the spider society), he has blue and yellow coded laces (as always these animators are amazing and did their fucking research), and he literally disrupts every scene he’s in with his art style!!

And most importantly, he CARES about his friends, which is what I think a lot of “punk” characters ultimately are missing. He’s the ultimate hype man for Pavitr and Miles, he helps Miles escape like 2 minutes after meeting him, he watches out for Gwen when she can’t go back home, he talks sweetly to Mayday when no one else is listening

The application of the spore puff is important because jetfish are another creature that (superficially) resembles squid, so at minimum the squidcada is an arthropod that resembles a squid and not vice versa. So consider instead: this is a spider that evolved to look like a flying squid While theres debate over the exact structure, in general most theory of wing development suggests a pre-existing structure took on the role (usually gills, sometimes projections of the body. It varies between theories) anyway check out this crab i think its neat I like to think the common ancestor would have been some sort of terrestrial but littoral spider (or at least spider-like) organism that had a split into a more aquatic equipped specialization with paddle-like legs and maybe some sort of buoyancy system. Eventually that would get more "aerial" and you'd get this weird flying squid looking thing

I wake up and see this meme, I had to!

Problem was...Ricochet, the Sonadow Fankid, does not look like either of her parents - I had designed her to resemble more other relatives, because I wanted to.

But then I remember the Doom Morph! And that some people have been like "you gotta introduce your fankid in squid form", so I combined those two!

She'll get more eyes as she grows older, kay? Baby heads empty of thoughts and it would have looked too cluttered otherwise.

No clue on the in universe explanation. Maybe Shadow was so worried he kept shifting until the end? Why is baby a squid? No clue, but it's funny to me.

Hopefully the doctors won't need that much therapy after this birth XD
