❄️ Snow - Who is your coldest / most stoic character and how do they express themselves (if at all)?

Gotta give this one to both Virginia and Adelia. They look so incredibly alike, which I first found quite ironic as they seemed like juxtaposed characters (where Rosella was meant to be Adelia’s “heir”). However, the more I thought about it the more I realized that Virginia has Adelia’s ability to internalize and act in a very calculated, and some would say, cold manner.

Adelia faced immense tragedies which caused her to become laser focused on self-preservation and giving her only surviving child a good life. She purposefully hardened herself not only to the world, but to any internal weaknesses that could stand in the way of this. Her self expression came in the form of love only for her immediate family, as she viewed them as the only people she truly had in this life.

Virginia, on the other hand, is actually an immensely emphatic character. Her coldness is primarily due to all of pain she sees in the world, all of which she has observed and taken onto her own shoulders. She does not allow herself much warmth or expression, as it feels terrifyingly like losing control and letting emotion (that she associates with pain) take over. Just like Adelia, she internalizes this; however, she has transformed it into a mission to do good in the world. It’s in those acts of service that her warmth comes alive; but to others (even her close family), she often presents as someone who does not have time for petty issues or silly emotional trifles.

What made you ship it?

I think Tumblr did, actually! I wasn't following the Arrowverse when I came upon GIF sets on my dash that made me go !!!!! because the flirty-enemies-who-sometimes-work-together dynamic is right up my alley and they look so good together. Then I read some fic (I think @coldtomyflash's stories were among the first I read), which got me from being mildly intrigued to being fully on board the Coldflash train (heh. train!). I only started watching the show fairly late, and I started with the Captain Cold episodes only before I finally gave the whole thing I try.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

The banter! The puns! Barry trying and failing not to be charmed by Leonard! Leonard trying and failing not to have a soft spot for Barry! That despite the fact that Leonard did actively try to kill Barry early on and stabbed him in the back later during their team-up, there's still respect and some level of trust between them. And "Infantino Street" will forever hold a place in my heart! Barry basically just went and stole Leonard from the past so he could have a kind of goodbye. 🥺

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Ha, yes, I think this is unpopular: I'm not super fond of Barry calling Leonard "Len". I know it's a comics thing, but for the Arrowverse version, I prefer it when he goes from "Snart" to "Leonard" (and I especially like that moment when Barry realizes that he's mentally shifted to thinking of Snart by his first name 😍).

The Storm

⚡ Scared of thunderstorms (Mary & Robin)

“Weres you ever scared?” Mary asked softly. She nodded at the storm raging on outside the window. “Back when you’s been alive?”

Robin’s first instinct was to laugh. Him, scared of a little thunderstorm? Things far more dangerous than that had existed back in his time – things with teeth and claws that no cave, no matter how large or small, had offered any protection against. Only fire had, as long as it didn’t go out in the night. That’s what Robin had been scared of back then: the fire dying. Not scared like Thomas was of loud noises; scared in a quiet, worrying way that wouldn’t allow him to fall into a deep sleep, wouldn’t allow him to feel safe.

He never had to worry when thunder rolled over the grassy plains at night. Thunder brought lightning and lightning brought fire – the very thing that kept the wolves, hyenas, cats and bears at bay.

“I always felt safe during storms,” he said quietly as lightning flashed across the sky, briefly illuminating the grounds below them. He got a glimpse of Kitty dashing across the driveway, and when she reached down to pick up something by the fountain, Robin could almost hear her say, “There you are, Humphrey! What are you doing out here in this ghastly weather?”

“Safe?” Mary asked as Kitty ran back inside with Humphrey tucked safely under her arm and her shoulders hunched as if she still felt the rain and cold.

Robin nodded. “Storms carried fire.”

“Ah,” Mary said in understanding before she wrapped her arms around her chest. “I don’t likes it much when trees and such get hits by lightning.”

She tried not to show it but her eyes were haunted by the past as she gazed outside the window. Lightning and thunder cracked together across the sky, making her flinch.

“Is okay,” Robin murmured, patting her shoulder to comfort her.  

Mary reached up to hold his hand and flashed him a trembling but grateful smile. She didn’t let go and Robin didn’t pull away. They did this sometimes – sitting together and holding hands in comfortable silence. It meant both nothing and everything, and in moments like this Robin wondered how he was supposed to brush off the loss when Mary’s time to go would inevitably come.

He hoped that fateful day was still many, many Moonahs away.

“Have you ever liked them?” he asked into the silence that had fallen between them. “The storms? Before?”

For a moment, the fear cleared from Mary’s eyes and they grew distant with memories. “As a child, I woulds often sneak outside and dance in the rain. Gave my mother quite a fright, I dids.”

She chuckled to herself and Robin felt a smile pulling at his own lips as he remembered a different girl with wild brown hair and stars in her eyes, long gone now. “My daughter used to do the same.”

Mary glanced at him, all signs of amusement gone from her face. “Do you miss her?”

“After all this time?” Robin heaved a sigh. “Not as much as I should.”

“I gets it,” Mary whispered and gave his hand a squeeze. “Even in life, I coulds not bear to mourn and miss my children every day. ‘Twas too much pain for the heart to carry.”

Their eyes met in the dark and when another bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, Robin saw his own sorrow reflected in Mary’s eyes. “Still is,” he whispered heavily. He turned back towards the window, and the sound of long-forgotten laughter and small feet splashing in the rain echoed in his memories.

Not that I know of and I hope not because I would hurl myself off a cliff. That's anjoke I wouldn't but I'm pretty sensitive so if I have I hope i never find out.

⚡ have you ever blocked a mutual for something? If so, what for?

I have done that several times throughout the fandoms I've been in, first one that I can think of, I blocked a couple because they were a 30+ year old proshipper and a couple others that supported them and I didn't know so that was really nasty to find out bc i looked up to that group a lot and whatnot, other recent one was basically bc we stopped being friends and it hurt seeing them on my dash.
