I always imagine Jake to identify as non human in some kind of way. Like he’s sub human, some kind of creature or animal who’s worth less. And not from some BS abt him being the “evil alter” but because decades of abuse and torture and being treated like an animal leads one to feel less than human. He thinks of himself as a feral animal, a violent monster, some creature rattling the bars of its cage.

He doesn’t believe he deserves any semblance to humanity. He doesn’t get to sleep in beds. He doesn’t get to make friends. He doesn’t get to eat comfort foods or indulge in hobbies or even have a choice in his life. Thats all for Steven and for Marc. But never for Jake because Jake isn’t like them.

He’s shattered and fucked up and broken and his only job is to hurt. Whether it’s him being hurt or him hurting others. He was born from a monster only to be a monster. Tainted from the start.

Jake is fear turned to anger. He is pain turned to fight. He is centered on such primal experiences that he feels primal himself. Incapable of being more than just hurt, pain, aggression, fear. He feels inhuman, like a monster
