Come along now, run away from the humdrum. We'll go to a place that is safe from greed, anger, and boredom - Fae caregivers x reader - ☘️

The woods have always felt like a second home to you. Towering trees that stretch into the clouds, babbling brooks, it's all so much more tranquil than your busting town. Sometimes, it even feels like the forrest cares just as much about you as you care for it. It's silly, you know, but it makes you happy.

The rumors of fae are forever present, but they do nothing to deter your longing for the wild. Old wives' tales are all they are, whisperings meant to keep children from wandering too far from home and getting lost. Even if there's truth to the stories, it's none of your business. Really, you just need to be polite (something you should already do) and guard your name, it isn't that difficult.

Leaves crunch underfoot as you travel the familiar path into the woods, the changing of seasons obvious. You're a little sad to see the green go, but it is only nature's coarse. The autumn season gives way for lots of good harvest at least, basket in hand in hopes of bringing a few spoils home. As you travel deeper into the trees, the sun is eventually swallowed by the canapy, beams of light being the only thing allowed through.

A fox catches your eye for just a moment, the creature staring at you from the undergrowth. You can't resist the urge to wave politey, so you do so before it scampers back into the trees. No matter how many times you see one, they're still so beautiful.

Everything is really, that's why you've found yourself crouched in front of a patch of mushrooms reaching out of the forrest floor. They're pretty, a light brown with frilled gills..

"I hope you aren't going to pick them, those are poisonous, they don't make for very good eating.."

The sudden voice from behind you causes you to fall flat on your bottom, a melodious laugh following. "Oh dear, I didn't mean to startle you.." they offer you a hand up, giggling all the while. "Are you alright, darling?"

You manage a nod as you're helped back onto your feet, thanking the man quietly. He's tall, probably taller than anyone you've ever met, and jewelry covers his form as if his beauty didn't speak for itself. His rings catch the light as he raises your hand to his lips.

"You may call me Briar, might I have your name?"

He doesn't falter for second as you shake your head, asking him to call you a nickname instead. "Oh, I get to choose, do I?" Brair rubs his chin like he's deep in thought before springing forward and playfully tapping your nose. "Sprout then, you're just a little thing, it suits you.."

You aren't the happiest about it, but you're in no position to protest. Briar only smiles and steps away, no longer in your personal space, but waiting for you. "Are you out to pick berries perhaps? I know a great spot. I was about to fetch some myself, actually.."

He's expectant, tilting his head at you. "We'll have to go away from the path, but I promise, they'll be the best thing you've ever tasted.." You're reluctant to veer away from what you know, but Brair assures you he won't get you lost, and the promise of goodies is tempting..

You think his smile can rival the sun with how bright it is when you agree, Brair taking your hand in his as you begin to walk into the thicket. It feels right almost having your hand in his, it's strange, you've only just met but he seems familiar. Like you've always known him.

"My friends and I are having a little bit of a party, actually.." He hums, swinging your intertwined hands back and forth. Brair laughs again when you ask about it, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. "A welcome home party, I suppose. One for a beloved member of the family.."

It feels like it takes no time at all to come across the bushes he was referring to. The path, however, is long gone. You don't notice, attention captured by Briar guiding you to sit beside him. He was right, the berries are like nothing you've ever tasted before. They're the sweetest, nothing compares to the burst of joy they give you when you sample one.

By the end of picking, your fingers are stained pink as well as your mouth. Briar hadn't snacked on the fruit like you did, only smiling as you had your fill. "See? Good, right?" He hums, brushing your hair away from your face. "You know.. I'm sure we'll have much more yummy food at the party, I'd be delighted if you came. " Briar pays no mind to your instantaneous about not wanting to intrude and.. and if the rest of the food is as good as what you just ate..

"Perfect.." Briar is already leading you away, although you're unsure when you started walking again. "Ohh, I can't wait.."

You can hear music in the distance, the sounds of merriment beckoning you home.

I feel like I am watching a different season of The Mandalorian than a lot of people. I'm really enjoying it, especially this last episode. I know people are saying he hasn't had a lot of growth this season but he has! I mean, this episode set up the idea that Din and Bo balance each other out. Bo could never have gotten the Ugnaughts to listen to her, and let's face it, Din would never have gotten the droids to listen to him. Sure, Bo has the dark saber now but I think Grogu will help Din tame that Mythosaur it will be pretty hard for the other Mandalorians to ignore Din AND Bo. We see that Din and Bo have grown to work well with each other. THIS is where Din learns to lead. Sure he doesn't want it, but it's being thrust upon him because of how closely he is working with Bo now. Din gave up the saber because he knew Axe was NEVER going to follow him, but he would potentially follow Bo again. His giving Bo the saber united Mandalorians. Hopefully, gaining Din respect as well and cementing him as a "real " Mandalorian (which is bull because Din is 100% a Mandalorian. Axe can fight me on that stance.)

Is this season perfect? Absolutely not. But then Star Wars has never ever been perfect. I think that is what makes me love it so much. That for a period a time I can be lost in a galaxy far, far away. I will forever be grateful for that. Sorry this is so long. I had to cut myself off at some point. I could keep going and going.

“You excited Princess?” Steve squeezed your hand as you walked into the fair.

Steve had planned the sweetest date night ever, dinner and then a trip to the carnival so you could end your night with a big stuffed Teddy and a mouthful of Cotton Candy.

Being the gentleman, he is he paid for your ticket, hand going to the small of your back, leading you through the gate.

“Stevie, this has been the best date ever!” You squealed, kissing his cheek, leaving a red lipstick mark. Blush rose to his cheeks. Truth is, he was just a happy he got to walk around with a girl as as you.

You looked so pretty in your light blue wrap dress with white poka dots. It hugged your curves in all the right places and you had done your hair all cute. The dress was his new favourite thing and all he wanted to do was take a picture so he could remember it forever.

Bucky couldn’t believe it when you showed up next to him. “How’d you land that dime piece?” He’d say while nudging Steve arms. “My endless charm and good looks.” Bucky laughed, slapping his friend on the back encouragingly “No but seriously, how much you pay her?” Steve punched his friend on the arm.

“She works at the arts supplies store I go to. I kept going back every day to see her, buy a single pencil each time and she kinda caught on and asked if I wanted to go to the pictures with her. Nearly passed out with excitement, not before I said yes though.”

And here you two were, hand in hand walking towards the Milk Bottle Toss so Steve could get you the teddy bear he promised you.

“It’s ok if you don’t win honey these games are rigged anyways.” You put your hand on his shoulder as he got ready to throw.

“I promised you that bear so you’re getting the bear.” He said, seriousness in his voiced.

He missed all 3 bottles and almost hit a toddler walking behind you.

“Out of luck, Kid.” Said the old, bearded attendant.

“Another round.” Steve straightened out his jacket, stretching his arms.

“Stevie, baby you don’t have to spend all your money on the bear.”

“Don’t worry.” He put his arm around your waist, squeezing at your love handles a little.

“A kiss for good luck would help though.” He grinned at you sheepishly.

You rolled your eyes, grabbing the man’s face in your hand and planting a fat kiss on his lips.

Steve was stunned, his first real kiss. Blush rose to his cheeks and his eyes were wide in amazement.

He took a big gulp, turning to the attendant “I can do this all day.”

The confidence of the kiss led to Steve hitting all 3 bottles with one throw. You jumped in delight, clapping your hands as the attendant handed over the bear. You hugged it tightly, kissing Steve again.

“Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you” You squealed pulling him into a big hug.

“Anything for my girl” he smirked smugly.

“Hey, let’s go on the Ferris Wheel, you can see the fireworks from way up high!” Steve looked at you excitedly.

Your palms started to sweat, but you weren’t afraid of heights. It was the anxiety of the seats. The all too small bench they put you on, whether the metal harness would go over your head and over your stomach. The fear of embarrassment when Steve realises that his chubby girlfriend can’t fit on a seat next to her boyfriend like the other skinny girls. How everyone would look and stare and wonder why a future US Soldier would be seen with a girl like you. Your face went white at the suggestion.

“Hey pretty girl, its ok it aint that high, I’ll hold your hand.” Steve smiled at you, blissfully unaware at your insecurities, not even giving your size a thought, heck all he saw was his beautiful girlfriend in front of him.

You simply nodded and let him take your hand towards the line.

You got to the front of the line, next in tow for the seat. The attendant lifted the rod, letting the couple before you free as they skipped off, you noticed all the space they had on either side of them. How you could never be the same.

You took in a deep shaky breath. “It’s alright, ladies first.” Steve gestured to let you slide in your first, you hit the arm rest and sat with your thighs laid flat, extenuating their mass. He squeezed in next to you, granted he sat happily but the image of the scrawny man squashed in a seat next to a clearly big girl haunted you.

The rod went over your heads, sitting comfortably against your stomach as a small roll formed on top of it. Your belly clearly squashed in.

“I like this bench; means I get to be nice and close to you.” Steve purred in your ear as you started to rise. His hand falling to your thigh, squeezing slightly for comfort.

“You sure I’m not taking too much room?” You looked at him hesitantly.

“Nonsense and why would it matter? The closer I am to you the happier I am.”

“I’m not the skinniest girl at the fair Steve, I don’t know why you even wanted to go out with me.”

“What? Who said something? I’ll kill em.” Anger flashed in his eyes.

“No one said anything but they sure as hell are thinking it.”

“So? Who cares what anyone else thinks. Gosh, I think you’re beautiful Y/N. I always think people are looking and wondering what a beautiful girl like you is doing with some skinny schmuck like me. I mean even Bucky thinks you’re cute.” He looked at you, shaking his head a little.

“You really think I’m beautiful?”

“Not just beautiful, I think you’re the prettiest girl in the world. Besides, I like how you look in that dress, gosh, I like how you look in anything, in the apron at the shop when it gets all tight around your waist giving you those movie star curves, I even think you’d look good in nothing at all.” Steve winked at you, whispering the last line in your ear.

It varies. In my way of describing, I'd describe the process of switching as becoming disoreinted, a chance of becoming dizzy, definitely not knowing who you are, what you are, where you are, what your purpose is, etc. until you start to "fade" in and slowly recognize that youre fronting.

Varies

Absolutely. We unfortunately cant do anything to get unstuck, we're just there until we're lucky enough to switch out

Yes. abso freaking loutely

No. and, the only times we've ever done something similar is by accident, either by listening to a specific type of music or doing something to trigger someone to jump to front

YES. We call it our Matrix. It is insanely detailed thanks to our MADD. It is way too complicated to describe everything. But, we can at least give the main locations. We have Corporate Tower / The Tower where most of us live, The Forest, The City, and Space. We could go on forever and ever about it. We have actually even made a Obsidian vault for it.

Its very easy to access.

Yes. Well, kind of ? the only place we know officially is The Hospital in The City, but other dormant alters, we dont know.

im so sorry i havnt texted you or sent you an ask or anything in forever... its been like 4 months holy shit i missed you so much and ive been wanting to reach out and send in some kind of message or whatnot but something just kept pulling me back and also ive been in this pit of misery recently

my mom used to abuse me both physically/verbally really badly when i was a child up until high school and when i finally left, but very long story short it resurfaced again recently when i saw her and i got fed up w her bs, law enforcement got involved, still figuring things out w the case rn and etc... but yeah!! (this happened maybe a month ago but its still ongoing)

honestly i think ive just been dealing with a rough transition through pretty much a lot in life including family, friends, overall workload etc etc so even if i wanted to reach out, i couldnt really do so because my mental state was just at the lowest of the low so even if i wanted to reach out to someone to talk i was too tired to ..

I AM VERY VERY GLAD TO BE BACK THOUGH!! im doing decently okay recently, still processing some bad news here and there and definitely very rocky every now and then but finally knowing that someone whos been torturing me since i was born is finally getting cut off from her bs is a lot more relieving than i thought it would be. definitely a lot less nerveracking than i thought asw

also kinda had a rough little patch with my close friends a few months back and we're all still kinda processing through it but i think ive definitely filtered out who they are and who exactly supports me when i support them back, and who only really socializes with me for their own benefit, etc.

but yes that has been the past few couple months while i disappeared!!! im v sorry i left out of nowhere and didnt even send in a stupid little message or anything <//3 how are you star?? i missed you so much :(( any life updates on your end??? now that im back youre probably going to see me for a couple while and i wont be dropping off the ends of the earth again hehe

I’d assumed you were just swamped with over school/work stuff, but I’m so sad to hear you’ve been going through all of this by yourself :( I’m glad at least the situation seems to be under control, and that it’s in the hands of the law now. I hope you’re in a safe living condition as of now (please reach out if you’re ever in need of anything at all) and I hope everything is okay in due time :( sending you so so so much love and I’m so sorry you had to deal with all of that.

I’m sorry to hear your friend situation is a bit spotty right now too :( my friends and I have been in a rough patch for a little while now and it absolutely sucks. But just like you mentioned, I do also feel like it’s truly allowed me to find out the real intentions some of my friends have and to reevaluate if I even want them in my life at this point. I hope you can either mend things with them, and if not, I have no doubt that you’ll be able to find much better people in the future. You deserve people who put you first and make you a priority, especially during this rough patch.

I’m doing okay <3 A lot has happened at work (honestly for the worse) and I’ve been so insanely stressed I feel like I’m dying. I cried all of last week because of some shit that happened at work and I think I’m losing hair bc of stress and it’s just jfkfkdjdkdkdjjttj I’m so tired 😭 but in GOOD news I do have a girlfriend for the first time on this account and she’s so lovely and supportive and we are so so so happy 💓 I feel like the fall months just tend to be full of so much stress and grieving and loss before things get good again in the winter. I just keep telling myself things will get better eventually :’)
