↕ - a memory that may or may not have happened

These days it feels the only time that you can truly sleep are in her arms. That stress that constantly constricts your ribs melts away and despite your best efforts her warmth against your back and the safety in the arms around your waist make your bones feel so heavy, your mind cloudy and warm... by the time you may have remembered you two may not be alone it was well to late.

It was a dream, soft and warm and fuzzy around the edges. You feel hands on you before anything else, warm shapes on either side of you. The dimness of this space makes you unsure of exactly where you are but oh, you've had this dream before haven't you? You're safe here.

You can hear the soft breathing of Casi behind you, you would know those soft sounds anywhere. And in front of you... there they are... Jaycé. Without your glasses their edges are fuzzy, colors bleeding into each other like watercolors. It's beautiful.

You let out a small hum as you adjust, a soft sound and to your surprise they stir, looking down at you as they blink the sleep from their eyes. They ask something, and though you cant understand the words the sound of their voice makes you feel at home.

You can feel yourself drifting, the dream shifting, despite your wishes. Why is it you can never stay here in this moment? You reach out and brush their hair out of the way, leaning in to softly kiss them, your lips just brushing theirs. There's a stillness before they melt into you, their hand brushing up and down your back.

They try to ask something, but you cant quite make it out. Your eyelids are too heavy, sounds are so far away. You mumble something that even you don't understand, a string of affectionate, incoherent syllables, as you finally drift back off into the darkness.

It was a good dream.
