Who: Open Where: Gryffindor Common Room
ted was stood by one of the windows just watching everyone enjoy the party. he let out a contented sigh. he loved his family, he really did, but there was nothing like being at hogwarts. he wasn't ready for this to be his last year here but he was determined to enjoy every minute of it. ted was dragged out of his thoughts by someone bumping in to him and dropping a little of their drink of him. "y'know if you wanted me to share your drink, you just had to ask" a teasing, amused smile rising on his face.

Who: @blackestrose Where: Gryffindor Common Room
ted had seen andromeda as he approached the drinks table for a refill. he'd never really spoken to her in a place like this. the only place they'd really spoken in public before was at book club and he wasn't sure that counted. he knew he shouldn't feel nervous, he had as much right to talk to her as anyone here, but still it felt weird. even he couldn't help but feel like he was doing something wrong. he suddenly felt more aware of everyone in the room. yeah they weren't really friends or anything but they had stuff in common and he had genuine reason to make conversation with her right now. "hey" his voice soft, trying to hide his caution. thinking it best to skip the small talk he dived right in as he poured himself a drink "i saw this band during the summer that I think you might enjoy- especially the lead singer, she was amazing, one of those people who capture your entire attention, really something special."

Who: @chxritysburbage Where: The Library
Ted dumped his bag on the table, making a slightly louder bang than he meant to. Mouthing a quick sorry to the librarian on duty, he slid into the seat next to Charity. "Wondered where you'd been hiding" he said as he brought out the essay he had started yesterday. Ted knew that people probably thought him and Charity were an odd friendship match. She was certainly braver and more outspoken than he was. But for Ted that's what worked so well. Charity always made him want to be the best version of himself. She also inspired him to speak up for the things he believed in, something he had definitely got better at since they had become close friends when they were young. She had helped him champion the fact that he was a muggleborn instead of learning to be ashamed of it. "What you working on?" he nodded towards the piles of paper in front of her.

Where: The ball; food table Who: @c1ssa
Ted had danced enough now that he needed an energy refill. He'd found his own way to enjoy the ball. He couldn't dance much to the slow songs, but he could sway well enough and that would do for him. He was much more of a dance stupidly to fast songs kind of person anyway. Hogwarts had outdone itself in terms of the food on offer tonight too. Ted was busy piling his plate high. There was one cheese tart he couldn't get to since someone was stood in the way. He tried to get their attention with a quiet 'excuse me' but they clearly didn't hear him. "Sorry- I just need to get to to the-"

Ted chuckled at Molly's comment. He got what she meant. Ted was by all means an extrovert. He was a people person and loved being in big crowds. However, being the centre of attention was something he would never be quite comfortable with. He was happy to just to be the person that made people laugh or lightened up the mood. But having all eyes on him. He could barely think of anything worse. Though he supposed he was being part of the problem right now by coming over to Molly. His intentions were harmless though. "They mean well i'm sure" Ted shrugged "i'm an only child so I cant say I know anything about sibling relationships."
Molly caught him of guard with her question. He wasn't really sure he was someone she should be taking advice from about the future. "I'm not sure it was easy" he thought out loud "it was more that magical creatures are the only thing i've really had any kind of affinity for- I did decent in other subjects but that was the one I had real instinct and love for- I guess i just went with my gut, not sure if that's a good thing but-"
@mollyxprewett
"The grapevine seems to be quite big right now." Molly's cheeks flushed. She wasn't one to shy away from praise but there was something different about finally having an official focus of study. It's like she was admitting she was growing up and had to start making plans for the future. That concept wasn't lost on her but putting the word "Charms" next to her name as she made it official that afternoon was something of a wake up call. Molly was carefree and never felt as old as she was. Twenty wasn't old but, at Hogwarts, it wasn't young either. It was time to look forward and give it at least a small amount of thought.
She cleared her throat. "Yes, my brothers are quite the support -- and obnoxious," she laughed. She didn't know Ted much but she knew he was in his last year and she wanted to pick his brain. "How did you pick your area of study? Was it easy?"

Where: corridor outside the great hall Who: @blackestrose
Ted needed to get some fresh air. He had really been enjoying the evening so far. It was nice to let loose and dance with his friends. Just to be able to forget about the pressures of his final year at Hogwarts and what that meant for his life. Ted had just finished talking with one of the students from Ilvermorny when he headed out into the corridor. He wasn't used to wearing suits, especially not a three piece suit. When he'd told his mum about the ball, she'd found the suit immediately. Telling him that it used to be her favourite of his dad's. It felt special to have his dad with him in that way and Ted thought it rather suited him too. Regardless though, in a room full of people it was making him feel very warm. He found an empty corner of the corridor and shrugged off the jacket. Feeling the relief of the cooler air. He looked around, just people watching at the others in the corridor when his eyes landed on a figure down the furthest end. Even from here he could tell it was Andromeda. He was already starting to walk towards her before his brain could catch up with his actions. He couldn't deny that with every interaction they had he become more and more intrigued. The vinyl she'd lent him, whilst not exactly his style had been beautiful. "Seems a shame for you to be out here alone in a dress that pretty" Ted questioned whether he'd had too much of the punch already and cleared his throat. "I just mean- its very detailed" Ted adjusted the way he was holding his jacket "did you need some air too, its boiling in there." Ted had no idea what he was doing anymore, all he knew was that he couldn't seem to stay away from her and he had no idea why.

Who: @blackestrose Where: Book club, before start time
Andromeda had surprised Ted a lot at Halloween. She'd surprised him a lot generally in fact. He'd almost choked on his drink when she'd approached him first on all hallows eve. That was something he had not been expecting at all. Her humouring him when he started conversation with her was one thing. But that. Well it had just convinced him that he wasn't crazy, there was some glimmer of hope when it came to her. He had previously though a friendship would be too much of a reach, but now he wondered what if. The fact she'd also gotten his character reference when even some of the muggleborns didn't had earned her major brownie points with Ted too. It was a huge part of why he was here, super early for book club once again just so they could talk in private. He readjusted the book he was holding under his arm as he walked into the classroom. The nerves appearing as they always did, he might be getting more confident in talking with Andromeda, but he was still nervous to start any conversation. For all Ted knew this was some master plan of hers to show him up somehow. But then, his gut kept saying that wasn't the case. "Hello" he said as he walked in and took his seat "bet you don't recognise me without the hooves now". Ted cringed internally at his own joke, but well it was an opening right.

Where: Outside The Three Broomsticks Who: @alecctoccarrow
Ted was having a great time tonight. He loved the festival. Browsing through the stalls, looking at all the costumes. Some people's were seriously impressive. It also warmed his heart every time he saw a costume that had a muggle reference. He had lost Charity to the crowd some time ago, but he was content sat outside with his snacks and his drink just taking in the atmosphere. "There's a seat free if you need it" Ted told the person in front of him who seemed like they were looking for somewhere that was free.

One of the things Ted loved most about being at Hogwarts was sitting in the Great Hall. He loved the loud conversation overlapping down the the tables. Sometimes he didnt join in, he would just listen whilst he ate his food or read his book, but he was always entertained by it. It made him feel like a full part of the community. He'd never felt like an outsider in the Great Hall.
Ted offered Alice a small smile. He knew what it was like to lose a parent, though sometimes he felt like a fraud for feeling that way. He'd never had a relationship to lose with his dad since he was only a toddler when he had passed away and his family did everything they could to make sure he barely felt the loss. Still there was a understanding of sorts. It was hard for him to explain. "I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit there Alice" he chuckled warmly "it certainly looks better than this mess of a mop." He ran a hand through his hair for emphasis.
"Wow, alright, hadn't been thinking about that, thanks for that solemn reminder" he was teasing, but it was true. Ted hadn't really put too much thought it to this being his final year. He didn't really want to think about it all ending. It was scary and he wasn't ready yet. "I know what you mean though, there's loads of people here talking about their detailed career plans, and i'm still not sure exactly what I want to do- it's a lot of pressure."
@aliceelspet
@teddy-tonks
“Of course you agree, it’s because I’m right.” The bravado of the statement was tempered by a joking smile on Alice’s face. Sometimes, there was only one right way to go, only one right thing to do, but mostly, Alice believed there were lots of ways to be right, especially about the little things like quidditch. She took most things seriously, too seriously if you asked some people, but it was nice to be light-hearted about something sometimes.
“Thanks.” Alice grinned and made a show of fluffing her hair. “Mum loved decorating her hair, ribbons, braids, scarves, charms. I’m not as good at it as she was, but I picked up some tricks.” Alice’s smile didn’t wobble, but she could feel the grief pushing in behind her eyes. She loved talking about her family, she just wished she could do it without having to remember that they were gone.
At Ted’s words, Alice heaved a sigh that might’ve also been a bit of a groan. “I know, it keeps hitting me that this is our last first quidditch match, you know? And on the one hand I feel like we’ve been in Hogwarts for multiple lifetimes, but I also definitely don’t feel like I’m ready to be a real grown up.” Alice was looking forward to graduating and starting her career, but there was also part of her that didn’t want to let go of the last place where she’d been a daughter and a sister. And she was even a little afraid of going out into the real world without the safety-net of her parents’ support and advice.

Who: @rxskeeter Where: Hogsmeade High Street
It had taken Ted so long to perfect the transfiguration spell that he hadn't had much time to actually practice walking on hooves. It was a weird feeling and he had stumbled a few times. Still, he didn't regret his choice one bit. Since he had been rereading the books, it was the first thing that had come to his mind. His hooves sounded loudly against the cobbled street and you would definitely be able to hear him before you could see him. He turned a corner and almost ran into someone, taking a minute to regain his balance after the sudden stop he'd had to make. "That was close" he laughed "almost had me on the floor there- not sure how i would've got back up." Ted now felt a little less cold towards Rita since their previous conversation.

Who: @bellaaegis Where: Outside the Quidditch Grounds
Getting out of the stands after a match was always hard work. People celebrating in big groups getting in the way and not paying attention to anything around them. He loved that they were clearly enjoying themselves and hell so they should be. It was a well deserved win for his team, and Ted was certainly planning to celebrate later. Right now, though he just wanted out of the crowd that was building around the exit to the main Hogwarts grounds. He had been wading his way through the crowd, when a group next to him got a little over excited with their cheers and backed into him. Causing him to almost fall onto the person on his right hand side. "Shit, sorry" it was an automatic response. One that Ted immediately regretted once he saw that it was Bellatrix that he had bumped in to.

Indi's response amused Ted a boyish smile on his face as he shifted to get more comfortable. He really had intended to read, but he didn't mind this distraction. Ted liked learning about new things, seeing different people's hobbies and interests. " 'suppose I've never thought about it like that before." He suddenly wondered if she would tell him off for picking little strands of grass out in the field by his house. Probably best not to mention it.
"It's fine" Ted reassured her, though he was a little gutted it had been so obvious that he had no idea what she was talking about. He listened intently as she taught him about the mallowsweet. A smile of his face the entire time. He found what she was saying truly interesting. Astronomy wasn't something he knew a lot about either, but he liked the idea of it. He believed in fate, in destiny, all those romantic ideals. Even after all these years the wizarding world still felt like something out of a fairytale sometimes. "So it's kinda like the key to the future then?" the question was mostly spoke to himself. "Do you think the centaurs would venture this far out?" Ted thought it seemed unlikely they would come this far out of the forest "have you ever seen one, that'd be a dream, I can't imagine would it would be like to see one- majestic but also pretty intimidating id think."
@indixscamander
"Ah, I see. It's not the grass, phew" she crossed her forehead with her hand, "just the nippy weather. Grass is, after all, a plant. Wouldn't want to make it feel bad by not wanting to enjoy it." Indi was teasing but was right. Grass liked the company. Not many people knew that and took it for granted. They would also not believe her if she legitimately told them so so she let the knowledge fly and hope it stuck.
After Indi's intense ramble about what each plant was she realized she was talking to someone who did not study Herbology. Most of what she was talking about were things she learned in her more advanced classes. "Excuse the long rant," she laughed, a smile on her face. "I don't get a lot of people interested in what I'm doing. Well -- that's not true. It looks like you tried really hard to understand -- I -- that probably sounded awful. I'm sorry. You're not stupid -- I just --." Indi covered her face with her hands.
She opened one of her fingers so Ted could see one eye. "Want to know what the mallowsweet does?" She put her hands on her knees, her face still red. "You may know this from study, but mallowsweet is burned by centaurs to observe the fumes and flames, in order to refine the results of their stargazing," Indi was finally able to let her shoulders rest. "I thought they might like some so that's why I left some out here for them. A little gift, you might say."

Ted could be quite forgetful sometimes. Today was one of those days. They had been tasked with creating an elixir to bring to the next care of magical creatures class and Ted had completely forgotten about it. Which meant he was now rushing the night before to make something. Potions were not necessarily his forte, though he could manage to make things if the instructions were clear enough. It was just something he simply didn't have an affinity for. He had chosen what elixir he wanted to bring, it was one that would help calm a stressed out creature. Very helpful for when an injured creature needed to be assessed. He had copied down the recipe, he just needed the potions classroom for a spare cauldron. He didn't brew enough potions to need one himself. He wasn't expecting Emmeline to be in there when he arrived. "Sorry" he apologised scratching the back of his neck "I needed to borrow a cauldron- last minute homework emergency- is that alright?"
@amissavis
who: open to all // @noxstarters where: potions classroom, after potions club
Within her books, between her cauldrons and notes; that was where Emmeline felt the most at home. With a small amount of people among those she would open up to, those things she considered dear to her where the true joy of each day. There was a certain comfort within these things, on that she could have never imagined giving up for anything else. With how life had gone, the friends she'd made, potions club had been the most obvious choice. Along with the major chosen, no step could have been easier.
Like so many times before the witch had finished that day's club meeting, the warmth of another brewing session, going over her notes. There were only three people the Slytherin would have ever shared those notes with. In this case it was just a simple note about a potion she wanted to try, one of the more complicated ones, yet when she heard steps near her, her head whipped around to face the source of it all.
Whether it was the need for privacy or the ever-burning wish not to be disturbed, the piece of parchment within her hand was folded up as quickly as it had been unfolded moments prior to the interruption. "Is there something you need?" Not having paid much attention to who had been beside her to cause the disturbance, her voice was short with only her eyes showing a small flicker of an entirely different emotion. "Is it something related to potions?"

Ted stiffened as he heard Dorcas' voice. If he'd realised it was her, he wouldn't have made that joke at all. Now he just felt awkward. He still didn't know what to do around her. Though he no longer had any feelings for her, he was still hurt and embarrassed by what had happened. He knew the kind thing to do would be to let it go. Dorcas had always been wildly out of his league, it was no real surprise that she had got bored of him. "I-err-I don't think you really need to do that" a drink would hardly solve the issue anyway. All Ted knew is that right now he wanted to be somewhere, anywhere that wasn't here. Fuck, what was he even supposed to say. "So are you and - you know who - dating now?" he knew he was being bitter but he couldn't help it. It wasn't something usually in his nature, two years ago Ted would've brushed it off and pretended it was fine. Not this time.
@dorcasmeadowsx
Ted's was perhaps the one voice that Dorcas was trying to avoid, their last conversation hadn't exactly been civil. Nor had Dorcas came off in the best light. She still regretted it, one drunken kiss with an anonymous face. All the hurt that one action had caused. Did Ted even realise it was her? She didn't imagine that he did. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have been so civil. Avoiding eye contact, Dorcas shook a slither of the drink trickling down her arm off. "All things considered, I think I would owe you a drink rather than forcing you to share." She retorted, more of a quiet demeanour than usual.

Ted eyes sparkled at the offer. Ted could take or leave dares. It really depending what they were. He enjoyed the rush of getting away with something that you weren't supposed to be doing but there were some he simply wasn't brave enough to carry out. Stealing a bottle from the table, however, seemed easy enough. After all there weren't any teachers here, who would care. Hell, he'd be surprised if anyone even noticed. "Okay, you're on" he nodded in confirmation "but which one do we steal- has to be worth the effort"
@xencphilivs
Ted was good company. In fact, all the Hufflepuffs were good company. Perhaps that was the reasons for houses beyond the horrific implication of putting kids together and refusing to let them socialize. And the school still wonders how Slytherins become radical. But what did Xenophilius know? He was studying magical creatures, not politics. He shook the thought from his head, far from what he should have been focusing on. Xenophilius offered a wick smile towards Ted. Well, as wicked of a smile he could muster. He bantered back, "I work better as a team, if you want to steal a bottle together, mate."
