He obviously lied about what was going on with him, EVER and all. The whole turning people into wanderers which he surely didn't act upon. Mf doesn't even RESPOND when you asked him about his work.

Oh but those lies were piled up like a garbage pit in the back of his head. He did lie before, lots too. About his night terrors, the guys he so kindly battered when they got too close to you, his worried mind. Him fooling around in college.

But as he would lie about where the snacks are hidden in his apartment just to watch you search for them like the raccoon you were (you were adorable in those moments to him), he'd never lie about his affections, never.

He loved you, so much.

But through the thick veil of restraint.

You always felt loved, even in Old Days, when he went off to academy and wasn't around as much. He always sent money, packets filled with snacks, he made sure to facetime you weekly to see how you were taking care of yourself. You promised to keep everything neat, right?

He wrote those letters for you before he went on a mission like he'd write in a journal. That time he got absorbed into the tunnel and came out of that gory ship still breathing, his letter before that was that he was scared, and that he loved you, and that he hoped to return to you. He hoped you'd answer his prayers.

You were his faith.

Oh, he'd never hide that.

EVER could strip him of everything but his love for you. So, out of love, he lies.

All that sillyness aside, I listen to way too much music (my usual playlist is +1,300 songs) of way too many different genres and i am happy to share them with anyone and everyone!! MOSSY'S COOL MUSIC RECS

DRIVING MY LOVE - Anri GOSH her entire TIMELY!! album is amazing, but this is the song that's been sticking in my mind the most lately. Citypop is a very fun genre of music that came about in Japan in the 70's, and Anri had (to me) some of the most fun songs in the genre :>

New River and Soap - The Oh Hellos OH BOY OH BOY THE OH HELLOS!!! I LOVE this band!!!!! If you were on art social media a couple years ago you probably have heard Soldier, Poet, King, which is by and large their most popular song. New River is one of my go-to songs when I am going through it. Absolutely love the imagery of the song, allowing new and difficult experiences carve new landscape through yourself. Soap, it is important to note, is the culmination of their four-part EP series Four Winds, and is kind of the resolution to that whole series of songs. It's really interesting and worth looking into! I must note that this is a Christian band in case you find that uncomfortable, but I would still recommend checking them out even if you do- the Four Winds EPS focus specifically on their struggles with God amidst the uh. Bad US Political Climate and all that. Most of their music on the topic is pointed and metaphorical (see: Passerine) and so that knowledge isn't super necessary to enjoy the music, I just think it's neat :] And not every song necessarily touches on the subject- these two specifically don't! Also I GOT TICKETS TO SEE THEM THIS YEAR LETS GOOOOO sorry this section is so long i just really like this band

No More What Ifs - Persona 5 Royal, covered by the 8 Bit Big Band Ok back on track lol. This song is absolutely my favorite from the game, but MAN THIS COVER. The 8BBB is one of the best video game cover bands out there imo, and they COMPLETELY outdid themselves with this one. They actually added a few extra lyrics to the song to better round out the overarching theme of both it and the game and MAN. i will never listen to another version again. The album this will be a part of isn't out yet sadly, but I would 100% recommend checking out their other stuff!

Bones in the Ocean (2023 vers.) - Longest Johns There's a lot to be said about this one but it's best if you just listen to it tbh. I will say that this is a new recording of one of the band's first original shanties, and that it includes all former and current members. Would highly recommend all the other songs on this album too, aside from this song it's a very fun listen! But ourgh this song,,,, if i had time I'd make a dozen animatics for it

'Tis Autumn - Nat "King" Cole Trio There's only one song to kick off the fall season and it's absolutely this one! Also The Autumn Leaves, which Nat King actually sung in Japanese once which is cool. He was an incredible musician and all of his songs are great, but Tis Autumn is probably my favorite :>

Catch You Catch Me (Card Captor Sakura OP) - Gumi Do you want to get ready in the morning feeling like a magical girl? Boy howdy do I have a song for YOU! Seriously the amount of people I've shown this song to under that premise who have come to me the next day saying that it worked is a lot lol. Card Captor Sakura has been a big comfort show for me and MAN the music is *chefs kiss*, especially the OPs!!! Linked the full song, but I would also recommend watching the opening itself :D

#41 - Dave Matthews Band "wow you like dave matthews lol thats such dad music" ok listen. I have been listening to DMB since before I was born. Saying I'm biased is probably an understatement here. But his songs are very good and I like them ok. Anyways #41 is a really stupid name for a song but I love the band in it, the weird lyrics, just the overall jazziness of it. If you wanna listen to more Dave stuff I would highly recommend the stuff from his solo concerts with Tim Reynolds- its just 2 guys jamming out on guitars, it's great. Stuff like One Sweet World, Still Water, Grey Street (This one's a tough listen for me but I love it). For the fun full band stuff I love So Much to Say, Ants Marching, just the older albums in general

Stay I Pray You - Anastasia (The Musical) I am allowing myself ONE (1) musical song. My sister is a huge musical fan and an even bigger Russian History nerd and an even BIGGER Bolshevik Revolution nerd so I watched Anastasia with her a lot growing up. Eventually they made the musical and it's actually tied for my favorite (Phantom is pretty hard to beat)! I got to see it tour and MAN. all the music is amazing, but this to me is the standout song- largely because this song, despite not being in the movie, actually was kinda in the movie- there's this bit in In the Dark of the Night that they took and made into a completely different song which is a fun nod to the movie!!

Music to Soothe The Savage Snake Plant - Mort Garson Got overwhelmed by my options at this point so I'm defaulting to one of my favorites! I believe another song off this album got popular recently, but I will forever know this one from it being used in the final scene in The Adventure Zone, my first and favorite DnD podcast! Honestly I could recommend a dozen songs from the podcast, but this one in particular always sticks out to me. While I'm here you should also go listen to The Adventure Zone, it's a great podcast, especially their first story (Balance, just start at the bottom lol).

Much like the first time, the envelope waiting on Kaz’s desk would have been innocent…if the flower attached to the outside didn’t give it away. This time it’s an azalea affixed to the letter with a silk ribbon. Vibrant pink fades towards the tip of each petal into a lighter shade, one that unknowingly mirrors the color dusting a certain florist’s cheeks as she wrote the accompanying message: 

Kaz, It is finally my absolute favorite time of year! Although, not that you would know it from looking outside most days. Wintertime is beautiful in its own way, of course, but I cannot help but feel melancholy when the cold lingers like this. I admit that this letter is sent with slightly selfish intent, for I can think of no better way to cheer myself up than to write to you. How have you been? I regret that it has been some time now since we last saw each other. Perhaps that is another reason I have felt wistful as of late. I do hope you have been taking care of yourself.  The flowers have been equally unhappy about the continued cold weather, but I am grateful that I was still able to coax some azaleas to bloom. As one of the first flowers to flourish at the onset of spring, they symbolize life, rebirth, and renewal. I plan to use them to decorate the outside of the shop to hopefully help usher in the springtime spirit—even if there is still snow on the ground! I apologize for not sending you another flower that is more to your taste. Still, I thought your rose may want some company, and besides, it is my humble opinion that everyone should have a bit of springtime color to brighten their day.  Speaking of the season, there is going to be a festival next week to celebrate! He liked to think he handled the gesture with more grace this time. (At first.)

There was no freezing in the doorway. No staring with the wide frightened eyes of a man facing the barrel of a gun instead of a Saints-forsaken flower on his desk. No oscillating. No hesitation. Barely even a second’s pause when his eyes caught a splash of color in what was otherwise dark and muted. He assessed the situation in a blink, no trouble. But despite all of that well-managed composure, one thing not only remained from the time before, but had somehow become stronger—no different than a swig of brandy’s effect on an empty stomach.

Like some lovesick podge, his heart performed acrobatics that’d put even Inej to shame: jumps and twirls that he’d long forgotten it knew . . . as if the damned thing had been chained down for all these years and was finally free again. From a single look. That was all it needed. And he wrestled with the excitement a man like him was never supposed to have over a girl giving him her time of day. He should’ve been embarrassed. Exasperated, even. Anything to remind himself to stay in check—

Instead, Kaz Brekker found himself smiling vaguely as he closed the door behind him and deposited his hat and coat in their proper places. He couldn’t bring himself to be anything but pleased. And, even if it was just for those pitiful minutes alone in his office, he’d not exercise how utterly crooked and wrong this should’ve felt.

He’d been thinking of her. (When was he not?) She’d been thinking of him.

Saints, it was reckless, the way every nerve in his body reacted to that alone. . . . Forget anything within the letter itself.

—but of course he had to read it.

Much like the first time, he consumed those words like they were a prayer and he was devout (which was amusing, as was the thought that if he were to submit to that hogwash, Spring would be the subject). He read over each line slowly, a calm cadence in his otherwise chaotic mind, then did so again. And again. As if he of all people would miss a damn thing among it all. . . . Or maybe he was just greedy for every last drop of ink.

Some part of him couldn’t quite believe it. That someone like him could bring someone like her the cheer of which she spoke . . . and so freely, too—like she had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. (Though her note on selfishness was something he filed away for later: She had to know there wasn’t a selfish bone in her body, nor any trickle of malice in her veins.) It could be confirmed then, if it wasn’t already, that he’d never get used to her . . . Her. Just her. From the way she spoke of those passions of hers—and included him as if he had any taste in flowers at all—to the fast and forward expression of her desires, as well.

He found it admirable. He found it fresh. He found it novel and more beautiful than he could ever express in words . . . not like she with these letters that he’d branded on his heart. She made him want to try. She made him hopeful that there could be more, no matter how much he’d never be the man she deserves— No, ridiculous; he could become that man. He could try.

He would try.

After another reread of that same flawless script, his attention eventually skirted over to that glaringly pink flower. It should’ve taunted him more than the last, standing out like a pinprick of blinding light in the dark, but Kaz wasn’t remotely offended. When he reached for it and a gloved finger traced the edges of one petal, inexplicably, he minutely flinched. Silly, the thoughts that waltzed through his mind. Foolish. As uncharacteristic as the leaps in his chest, the heightened rhythm that hadn’t yet steadied since he walked through the door.

But, Saints, he really was just a man, wasn’t he?

And so, after careful consideration (of how halfwitted this all was), Kaz slowly removed his glove. With that bare hand, he claimed the thin stem of the flower, letting the silky texture of pink petals glide over his thumb while he contemplated Spring’s own fingers doing the same. His throat tightened for a beat. His next exhale fluttered out weaker than the last. The muscles in his hand flexed, twitched, and then Kaz shook his head, set the flower down, and abruptly got to his feet.

He yanked that glove back over his hand. It as much felt suffocating as it did relieving, as was his choking back that swell of warmth that climbed his neck. Kaz headed straight back to the door, retreated from his office in one swift move without a single glance over his shoulder again—to that opened letter or innocent flower lying there beside it.

Truly, he hadn’t yet decided his destination. Only that, first, he needed a drink.

Eehehehee Artemesia is going to get into so much unintentional trouble in Vallaki, and I am delighted by the prospects. Just walked right in with a letter from Strahd in her pocket, declared her crossbow, sickle, and dagger as weapons, but not any of the tools on her chatelaine (tinker's tools and thieves tools and idk exactly what those consist of but I'd definitely been imagining at least some of them are dangerous lol), and didn't even *think* of considering magic a weapon (she did ask about options though). We just got there and she's already breaking at least one law xD and this doesn't even count what might happen with the rest of the party!

I also gain a gremlin level every time one of the other players is like what the FUCK about her. Exact opposite reaction when it happens with Vanora and I love this for me. Cackling about Artemesia and her probably pending doom while I make sad dying whale noises about Vanora's...whatever is going on there xD (ok not entirely true, I do also cackle when it happens with Vanora. I am just crying about it at the same time lol)

I think people also forget these boys are ninjas they are so used to enemies and stuff trying to to hit them. Mikey isn’t a fragile baby.

This is really so important. Mikey is incredibly strong and capable in his own right. He's more than capable of defending himself when he needs to.

Does he have the brute strength Raph does? No, but he's quick and agile and those are incredible strengths all on their own.

The thing is canonical when 2k3 opens the boys are 15. They're just kids. They're kids without impulse control because they're still growing and developing. Teenagers make mistakes.

Sometimes Mikey riles Raph up because he enjoys wrassling with his big brother and that's how he invites Raph to play, but sometimes he pushes Raph too far. Sometimes Raph reacts too strongly.

Those aren't character flaws that's just what being a teenager is like. It's what being a sibling is like.

And Mikey absolutely is stronger and tougher than most people give him credit for.
