Jeffrey was a friend of Thibaut Beauchêne and after Thibaut's untimely demise, became 'friends' with Ai Beauchêne under the belief that she needed someone to take her under their wing and help her sell off Thibaut's art collection. When she refused to sell it, deciding instead to keep the pieces that her late husband had bought and potentially buy more, Jeffrey told her that she shouldn't, that she didn't have the expertise needed, that she would do better to sell the pieces to someone who knew better, such as himself.

He was very quickly told, with a curtness about her tone, that 'that's what I pay experts for'.

Ai has always held him at arm's length and sometimes outright dismisses him as if he were staff, though is as friendly with his long-suffering wife as she can be towards anyone. In truth, it's mostly pity; their entire social circle knows that he's a serial cheater, but his wife refuses to leave him. Ai has asked if she would ever hire someone to off him, but his wife is loyal to him. Or to his money. Ai isn't sure which, but she can only respect one of those choices.

She truly does not like this man, and the feeling is decidedly mutual, but they remain civil for as long as his wife wants him alive.

I would kill him off for a plot. Ai would kill him as a hit put out by a mutual friend who's tired of him. so if anyone wants their character to investigate a murder where we both know Ai did it but the character doesn't; lemme know. I have a victim.

okie so i was actually going to recon this headcanon ( there are a few things i want to revise for this verse especially with what i know about hyuk now here 👀) into more like, yes he does do wood carving, but it’s not really the artistic kind ^^’ i’d say it’s more like, you know how some people will pick up a random stick and just start shaving away at it until there’s nothing left? Yeah that’s the kind of carving patrick does….i wouldn’t be surprised if when he and hyuk are at the beach, that’s typically how patrick passes the time– he finds a random piece of driftwood and just idly shaves away at it while listening to the waves and enjoying hyuk’s company <3

🔥 What are his favorite books to read? Has he retrieved any kind of information from books as to use them for his skills or any situation he's faced? 

In this verse, he hardly reads fiction, mostly because i’m assuming that the books published in panem are probably pro-capitol. Books from before that (think of say, pride and prejudice, etc.) are probably found in the capitol, but you won’t be seeing anyone in the districts getting their hands on these legally at least–). So i could see patrick being more interested in reading say, history books? Anything related to history even though he knows that most accounts are, again, pro-capitol…this probably also ties into his capitol public persona as an academic, where he’s considered a ‘historian’ regarding panemian history….of course this’ll come back to bite the capitol in the ass 🙂

( on a note of after the second revolution, i could see patrick like, writing just one book on a comprehensive history of panem, one that cover both the districts and the capitol and it’s complete with interviews and primary and secondary sources….he had that published and then fucked off into obscurity aka he wanted no cameras on him ever again. he probably also played a role also in setting up a national university for both the district and the capitol students…although he would stick to teaching history in solely district three for the rest of his life <3 )

He will also read about science books and about the other districts/the capitol. The latter, he uses to kinda?? Get a better sense of the places he’s either stuck in or could be visiting, while the former, you could say it’s a paranoia thing just in case he’s ever thrown back into the games for a second time– this being said, i do think before he reaped, since he and hyuk did sneak out to the one beach at the edge of district three, he did do some reading about marine life and forest survival…whether that information actually did help him out though, who can say 🥲

🔥 What are his favorite scents when it comes to bath salts? 

Probably nothing too fancy, but he definitely would hate anything that was too…sweet-smelling, like roses or vanilla. I could see him liking more of the refreshing scents kinda like, eucalyptus, peppermint or tea tree. Considering that often he take a bath after meeting with snow’s ‘clients’, i think he prefers sharp smells as the scent would ground him to the present moment. Keep his thoughts from spiraling too far.

i could definitely see him having one although it wouldn’t be anything fancy. I could see his favorite being say, something you’d find in the black market, something secondhand from district three. Mind you, he probably did get a fancy pocket knife here and there from snow’s ‘clients’, but i don’t see him keeping them…most likely he would’ve given them away or simply just thrown them out.

as for his usual one, the personalization is probably something very simple, like a carving of his initials into the handle. Just in case it gets lost ( although i don’t see that happening ever since well…never assume a dog no matter how sweet doesn’t know how to bite 🙃)

But honestly? I think the connections that he has for this verse already do a wonderful job with fulfilling all the hypothetical situations i’d write him into ( and if there is more…well i do know who to ask ;D ) that being said…

i would be interested in writing patrick in the initial aftermath of felicity’s passing OR in a case where hyuk is say, kidnapped by the capitol (aka there’s no guarantee that he’s alive or dead) ? of course that would be super depressing so it’s not like we would have to go all in depth, but at least i would like to see a patrick that is perhaps temporarily unhinged as that’s not a side that comes out often and i have yet to see what that would look like in action. in the case of hyuk being ‘missing’ since hyuk here is patrick’s rock, take hyuk away and any stability that patrick is known for showing would probably just…crumble. like yeah, he’ll act he’s perfectly fine and composed but he’d also be consistently two steps away from a breakdown…probably would need to be sedated at some points in time to calm down :’(

if we’re talking about hyurick tho, this is going to be so vague, but i wanna write it all with you :D firstly bc hyurick has my whole heart and brain space BUT also i am genuinely curious to see how they interact in this depresso verse!! whereas in the black knight verse, they are on the same side and do agree on what the right thing is to do even if they throw barbs at each other :’DDD; here, however, just based on what you’ve told me about hyuk so far, patrick and hyuk each have very different ideologies/ways of being in this society. So i am curious to see how they navigate their friendship/relationship despite disagreeing on this very fundamental level…and also seeing how they might accidentally screw each other over in the process too ( aka hyuk tries to start rebellion things and patrick tries to sabotage said plan bc that’s gonna get hyuk killed 😣).

The characters I have for it are

Katarina Kamieńska : a young woman living in St. Petersburg, making her living by selling forged papers. She's trying to save up enough to buy passage out of Russia, but so far it's been slow going.

Lily Malevsky-Malevich : once a countess in the glittering Imperial Court, now living as a lady-in-waiting in Paris. (I'd love love love to find someone to write Vlad with her! Especially if it's pre-Revolution!)

Victor Nikiforov : the premiere star of the Russian ballet. Technically he has more freedom than most, as the ballet allows him to travel outside the country. But he's very aware of the tight leash they're all on.

Yuri Plisetsky : an angry young man with dreams of dance and music far beyond his reach. He can see the future being built for him and he despises it.

Arcane season 2 wishlist

things i want to see before the end of the season

-Liberation and freedom of Zaun (obviously)

-Vi has another hand to hand fight scene like in season 1 episode 5. No gauntlets, no jacket because i ideally want to see her arms

-Burn that blonde councilman

-Jinx gets therapy

-actually everyone gets therapy

-Caitvi have the most earth shattering, loving and jaw dropping sesbian lex

-Ekko’s tree is FINE and he continues to live his unproblematic life

-Isha is ALSO fine

-Caitlyn has and keeps the middle part

-jinx and vi hug and nothing bad happens after it

-Caitlyn grovels for Vi’s forgiveness (then Vi can let her hit)

-i realise my choice of words on the last one weren’t great

-Mel gains a more influential role in Piltover (she’s one of the best councillors and i wouldn’t be mad if the council disbanded and she solely leads it)

-Victor returns from his pilgrimage or whatever it is he is doing and gives Jayce a nice big kiss

5-6 episode middle school/high school miniseries with the main Arcane characters (Attack on Titans had a version of this and it would be a perfect filler as fans wait for more League shows)

Short movie or graphic novels about Jayce and Victor at university and/or focusing on developing Hextech

Graphic novels or book about Ekko post-war expansion of the Fire-lights OR how Ekko built the Fire-Lights and the tree community during the 7 year S1 gap.

Not really interested in this idea since it doesn't include Cait or Vi, but a graphic novel/book about the alternate reality with Jinx-Ekko-Vi friend's group for Timebomb fans.

I am deeply sorry, anon, because when I made that "call me beep me if you wanna reach me" post, I'd completely forgotten that I disabled email notifications for my inbox because of bots.

This is fucking rough. Mostly because I just spent an hour typing out a response (too much effort for a tier list request, I know) and then Tumblr chewed it up. How did I ever manage to write full essays on here back in the day without typing them up somewhere else??? BUT ALSO because I feel like such a fake literature fan. I feel like I've read nothing at all. There are so many books that are staples that I haven't read. There are so many books on my shelf that I haven't finished.

"FraCula"? I presume you mean Frankenstein and/or Dracula? Yeah, lol, no. They are not making the top 5. You'd think that they would because of how much time I have dedicated to them, but that's probably the issue jiopegprio. If I were to rank them, Frankenstein may win over Dracula simply because I have so many more feelings about the latter than the former. Which doesn't make sense, right? But the Dracula fever was a turbulent time in my life, and though I love so much about the novel, I hate so much as well (and those things I hate are because I love the other things with such ferocity). Though... I do have to restrain myself from getting into fights with "Victor Frankenstein is the real monster!!!" people. But isn't the fact that I am able to restrain myself further proof that I love Frankenstein less? That I fight for it less?

Oh well. Onto the actual list:

Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne Absolute comfort novel, and I wish I had been introduced to it YEARS AGO when I got it for my friend because it was on their wishlist. I'll never forgive. Though, maybe I wouldn't have been able to appreciate it in middle school. This novel was such a positive influence in my life when I was reading it (on this very blog, you can see it helping me through some traumatic shit in real time). I have never touched any adaptations or "sequels" of it and never wish to. [From this point on, the list order is just chronological to when I read the books.]

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott This book will always have a place in my heart because it felt like the first "real book" I ever finished. My mom was very excited when I finished it. So she got me the actual book. Yeah... the book I had finished had been an abridged illustrated version. But still! The excitement (and confusion) on Christmas day when Ma gave me a copy of the real book.

The Silverwing Trilogy by Kenneth Oppel Keeping with the trend set by Little Women, I actually first found this story through the animated adaptation of it. It wasn't until years later when my cousin coincidentally got me the book series as a gift (literally just bc I love bats) that I even knew there were books. Reading them was so fun, rediscovering moments that were in the animated adaptation, newly discovering moments that were left out. I unfortunately fell off with the third book due to how unfamiliar it was, though. Still. Great fun. [people are gonna fuckin roast me for having children's books in this list and not something refined like Les Mis... that is one of the books languishing on my shelf after I failed to get past the first few chapters in middle school]

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson Yet ANOTHER book I learned of primarily through adaptation... though this novella has no good adaptations. The reason? They always disregard Utterson! My beloved POV character. I do not relate to him in the SLIGHTEST, I love him so much.

The Vampyres by C.R. Kane If this list were in any particular order, this would be right after Twenty-Thousand Leagues. And the two would be tied if not for a singular detail that made me lose my shit. The author knows what they did. Let me just... put my book review here:

Roses. Garlic. Ash. The Vampyres is a story about the hunter becoming the hunted. This story was delightful to read. Kane introduces the protagonist, Gordon Williams, and his peers: members of the undead who have made pacts with gods to be indestructible, not even threatened by wards that we commonly know to work against undead monsters like garlic and holy symbols. And then, once the reader is confident in the vampires’ total invincibility, Kane pulls the rug from under their feet and introduces a horror that even the proud and complacent Gordon dreads. Every character introduced is fleshed out by the narration, even minor victims of Gordon’s bloodthirst, creating a world that feels lively beyond the protagonist’s supernaturally broad perspective. I’d recommend this story to anyone for its thrilling action, striking prose, and potent emotions.

Just go fucking read it, dude. I need you to read this book. Read The Vampyres by C.R. Kane.

This man. What a beautiful, kind, sincere, magical human this man is. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend.

Actually, it wasn't perfect. I was able to make it through a couple of photos, one with the whole gang, then with Ashley, Liam, then Laura, and was pretty stoked because I'd managed to give out all of the gifts I had made for them, including one for Travis and Sam. I'm disabled, and in the middle of standing in line for Sam's photo op, I had a big, fat seizure...in front of 60k people. Awesome. I missed several of my photo ops at that point and spent quite a while recovering. A couple of hours later, after I started feeling a little more alive, the paramedic who was taking care of me took me back over to try and get my photos. As we were rolling up (me in a wheelchair) I saw Taliesin walking away behind some curtains towards his autograph session. My heart sunk because I knew I'd missed my chance and I said, "Well, there goes my Taliesin." My amazing paramedic Victor took off running after him and explained what had happened. The next thing I knew, I was being wheeled towards the curtains where, standing behind them as they parted was the smiling, sweet face of Mr. Taliesin Jaffe. As soon as he saw me, he said, "Hey, I remember you! I'm so glad you're feeling better!" I was so stunned, and partially numb from my earlier ordeal that I'm not even sure what I said at this point. We talked for a few minutes and he asked if I had my phone to take some pictures together. I said yes and pulled out my phone to unlock it. Of course, his picture is my lock screen, which he saw and said, "Oh God...look at that, I'm wearing the same shirt!" Victor then proceeded to take copious amounts of pictures of us. My daughter was also with me, and Taliesin asked if she wanted to get into some pictures as well. She excitedly agreed and we took some more. He said he couldn't believe that she was my daughter and that I look fantastic. I told him I am older than he is and he said, "No way...well you look better than I do." To which I said, "The fuck I do."

I got to see him two more times the next day for 2 photo ops (I had purchased 10 but only managed to get 2 before they sold out) where he suggested a big, scrunchy hug for the second one, and at his autograph session, where I bought everything I could possibly buy at his booth, he signed my arm (and I had it tattooed on!) and he made a video for me thanking me for a deaths head moth brooch I had brought him. He said he'd had that brooch on his Etsy wishlist for a year, and had no idea how I knew lol. I said it was on my wishlist too, and since we seem to have the same taste in decor (my house looks like the set of Candela Obscura) I hoped he would love it.

So there it is. My first meeting with Taliesin in the books. I hope that he remembers me, and that I can see him again very soon!

One character in the Hunger Games that I would like a prequel about that I rarely if ever see mentioned in anyone'se wishlist for a prequel is Plutarch Heavensbee.

I know Katniss doesn't think much of him, but he's kind of the anti-Snow in a lot of ways. He organizes this rebellion like a conductor. The movie makes him even more instrumental, in that his ideas for "the games" and handling Katniss actually cause much of the rebellion. But he also seems to know that Coin is not it, even though he is using her arsenal and military.

He's the connection to Tigris, also and I want to know more about her.

He seems to have been a Gamemaker before the series, and then comes back for "Catching Fire." What was his journey to realizing he was doing the wrong thing? Or did he always know? Who were the victors of the games he worked on? He seems to know Beetee best, if I were to guess but a lot of them died in CF. He could've been besties with Mags for all I know.

idk. I have a lot of questions about him too. Even if Mags and/or District 4 is my #1 pick.
