The Ambros Family

The Ambros Family was once known for its great gifts, a family respected and feared by Gods. It has since dwindled in numbers as the years have dragged on, leaving few to uphold its once desired name.

Originally from Naikama, most of the family's remaining members have branched out to Europe, finding roots in new places. Though the family's traditions may have dwindled, some forgotten entirely, their power may still remain.

Marked by the Sun and the Moon, the Ambros Family may stand the test of time yet.

❥Bo Sinclair

Bo found you in a grocery store in the next town over. When had you come back to Louisiana? He remembers the day you broke up with him - you were going out of state to college and didn't want to do long distance with him.

So much has changed since then. He's changed so much since then. He waited for you to check out, then abandoned any cart or food he hand in his hands to follow you out to your car. Luckily you parked in the back so nobody saw him knock you out and drag you to his car, which also coincidentally wasn't far from yours.

Stuffing you in the back seat, he used the seatbelts to tie your hands up and began driving back home. When he arrived there, he called for Vincent to help him bring you in. Vincent was surprised to find you instead of groceries in the backseat. He signed to Bo, "What is this?"

"Well it damn sure ain't groceries, Vince. Now help me get her up to my room."

Vincent cringed at that but decided to help him anyway. He held you by your ankles and Bo held you by your wrists as they brought you upstairs, where Bo promptly tied you to the bed. He shooed Vincent out of his room before sitting next to you.

You looked so peaceful, and in his deranged mind he thought you knew he was with you, and thats why you seemed so peaceful. Smiling, Bo leaned down and kissed your forehead. "Welcome back home, darlin."

You woke up shortly after, in a familiar room, but not one you thought you'd see ever again. It didn't help that Bo was sitting right next to you. "Bo...? What...?"

You tried to move but the restraints wouldn't allow you. The situation settled into your brain - you were in Bo's room, and you couldn't move. The last thing you remember is being at the grocery store, loading your groceries into your car. You had been kidnapped, and Bo was your captor.

"Bo, let me go." You looked at him.

"Sorry sweetheart. I can't really do that."

"Bo let me go now!" You thrashed against your restraints.

"Its no use darlin. I let you go before but, after some careful consideration I realized I never wanna let you go again. So, now you're back here, with me and Vinny and Lester! Ain't that great?" Bo got close to you, a smile spread on his face.

You spat in his face. Bo then promptly slapped you across the face out of reflex. "Now darlin I'm sorry for slappin you, but you need to re-learn some manners it seems. College ruined you, but it's okay. I'm a patient man, we can figure this out."

"What are you talking about?" You looked up at him, tears in your eyes.

"I'm talking about how you're mine forever. Your place is here, in Ambrose, beside me. I want no other woman, Y/n." Bo caressed your face.

"You're fucking crazy."

"For you." Bo smiled again.

❥Vincent Sinclair

Bo had called for him from the upstairs level, something he rarely does unless there's people. Begrudgingly he left his sketchbook on the table and came upstairs.

"I got somethin for you." Bo grinned. "I think you'll really like it."

His brother led him out to his truck, and when he opened the back seat, he saw a person laying there. But not just any person, it was you. You who he had lost when your family decided to move out of Ambrose years ago.

He never forgot you. In fact, he hadn't been with anyone else since you had left. He'd always had a feeling you would come back. But, he felt bad that this was how you'd been brought back to him. He had hoped the attraction would open up Ambrose again and you would come back, just like you said you would.

He signed a thank you to Bo and immediately started to pull you out of his truck. Bo watched quizzically, not bothering to help just yet. When Vincent had pulled you out of the truck, he didn't account for your upper half and you promptly slid to the ground.

Bo hissed between his teeth. "That's gonna hurt. Need some help getting her downstairs?"

Vincent nodded, and the brothers uncharacteristically worked together to bring you downstairs. Bo helped tie you up to his bed and then gave Vincent a pat on the back. "Do what you want with her, but wrap it up, if you know what I mean."

Vincent rolled his eye at his brothers implications. Bo just patted his shoulder and then turned to leave. As he left, you stirred. Opening your eyes, you looked around. You were in a familiar place, but not a place you'd been to in some years.

Seeing movement, your eyes focused onto the man before you. You instantly recognized him. "Vincent?"

He nodded. You moved to try to hug him, but the restraints kept you in place. You then realized what was happening. You had been kidnapped, and Vincent was keeping you here. Your expression turned sad. You never thought your Vinny could be capable of something like this.

"Vinny..."

"Its okay," he signed. "I'll take care of you, and you don't have to do anything in return."

"Take care of me? Vinny, this isn't a permanent thing, I have to get back to my family."

"You are family. You are mine. I won't let you go again. Ever." He got closer to you as he signed.

"Vincent, you cannot keep me here forever." You tried to keep your soft tone but you were beginning to freak out as the reality set in.

"Watch me."

Kōmyō (701-760), born Asukabehime, was Empress Consort of Japan. A highly influential figure, she played a key role in the spread of Buddhism and undertook numerous philanthropic projects.

The Empress Consort

Kōmyō was the daughter of the powerful courtier Fujiwara no Fuhito. In 716, she married the future Emperor Shōmu, who would later succeed his aunt, Empress Regnant Genshō.

Kōmyō was not only a skilled calligrapher but also a devout Buddhist. Both her father and grandfather were instrumental in making Buddhism the religion of the Fujiwara clan. Her mother, Tachibana no Michiyo, also took religious vows.

In 718, Kōmyō gave birth to a daughter, Princess Abe (718-770), who would later reign as Empress Kōken/Shōtoku. In 727, she had a son, but he died shortly after birth. The Fujiwara family used this loss to accuse their political rival, Prince Nagaya, of having used black magic to curse the child. This led to Nagaya's suicide.

In 729, Kōmyō was elevated to the title of Empress Consort, or kōgō, securing her position as Shōmu’s principal wife and ensuring her daughter’s place as first in line for the throne.

By 738, Abe was officially named Crown Princess—the only instance in Japanese history of a woman receiving this title. Kōmyō likely played a significant role in securing this appointment, using Buddhist teachings to bolster Abe’s legitimacy.

Kōmyō had her own Palace Agency, with a staff as large as those of other major government offices, allowing her to use these resources in support of her causes.

Kōmyō was likely a key figure in the establishment of Nara’s Todai-ji temple. She established with her husband a network of government-sponsored temples for monks and nuns. Her household employed craftsmen to build temples, sculpt religious images, and scribes to copy sacred texts. Among these texts was the Lotus Sutra, a scripture highly valued by women, as it could be interpreted to suggest that women too could achieve enlightenment.

Kōmyō also cared for orphans, lepers, the poor, and those affected by war. She established a hospital that provided free medicine to those who couldn't afford it.

She transformed her father’s residence into a convent for nuns, known as Hokke-ji. She encouraged the women there to practice ikebana, or flower arranging, and the Hokke-ji Goryū school of Ikebana still exists today.

After her husband's abdication in 749, Kōmyō took the tonsure and became a nun, witnessing her daughter ascend the throne. She passed away in 760.

Kōmyō became a popular subject in art, with many legends surrounding her. In one famous tale, she washes a leper, who is later revealed to be the Buddha himself. She has since been venerated as an embodiment of Kannon, the Bodhisattva of compassion. Today, the nuns of Hokke-ji continue her legacy by creating Braille texts for the blind and making amulets for pregnant women.

- when Stu & Billy first meet your crazy ex they have two different reaction that both fall under the category of “you should be fucking scared”

- Billy’s reaction is to become very protective and put himself between you and your Ex. Getting in their face and be all-around as menacing as possible.

- While Stu is determined to be crazier then your ex. for example they start yelling he will start screaming. honestly he is just there to escalating it. 

- If you ex starts making you feel unsafe they will instantly get you away from the situations making sure that your ex knowns that is they ever try to contact you again they will be delt with *cough* Dead *cough 

- though even after the three of you leave they will hunt your ex down and kill them anyways.  

Brahms

-I think that Brahms would react in much the same way as he did to Greta's Ex.

-He would start by quietly threatening him at first, trying to scare him off, but if he ever saw that you were scared or made any attempt to harm you or take you away from him. ALL BETS ARE OFF

-he will most likely just come right out of the walls to ambush him and drag him back into the walls with him so you don't have to see what he does to him.

Thomas Hewitt

-He would get you out of the situation as fast as possible. Then once you are safe with Luda May, let's just say that the family will be having meat for dinner again.

Vincent Sinclair

-He would be rather surprised at first because he didn't think anyone knew you were here in Ambros

-Vincent doesn't like to be seen by others. He is a rather secluded guy, but at the first sign that you are scared or uncomfortable, all of his apprehensions about being seen go out the window

-he just wants to get to you as fast as possible. Alerting his brothers at the same time.

-once you are safe in his arms, he will sick Bo on your ex telling him just to get rid of the body and that he is not worth being used in his art.

I'm obsessed with whatever they put in the water that is making everyone share their comic Nimona fankids, but let's fucking go I have more Gregor doodles (and headcanons) to share

-Nimona is The Most Protective auntie and she will rip anyone to shreds who would bully her little buddy

-Gregor's favorite color is light orange. He favors light colors like Ambro, but warm colors like Ballister so he loves light pinks, oranges, and yellows, but he still looks good in and regularly wears other colors

-It cannot be understated how terrified Ambrosius was when he was born. He did not feel deserving of something as wonderful as he considered his baby to be, and in light of his track record of hurting people he loves, he was petrified and didn't trust himself to be a dad (while also being hormonally protective and not trusting anyone else). I imagine he'd struggle a lot at first and would experience PPD or even episodes of Postpartum Psychosis for a couple months before settling in and feeling more confident

-Ballister started reading to him every night basically from when he was a newborn infant. Ambrosius would walk in to see Ballister, cradling a scrunched-up, tiny, squinting baby Gregor who can hardly see, and reading to him pointing to the words as if he could follow along

- Anyway as a kid Gregor would insist that BOTH his parents do bedtime EVERY night because he wouldn't sleep unless Ballister read to him and Ambrosius sang to him and all three of them cuddled the whole time (he is a snugglebug like his parents)

- He learned about the joust, and about Nimona's split when he was fifteen. In an attempt to not make himself out to be perfect or better than the others, Ballister also told him about how he'd poisoned the townspeople. This did not help. He suddenly felt like his loving family were all horrible people and was openly hostile to all of them for weeks. They got him individual and family therapy and he was able to come to terms with it but the news really hurt him and his ability to trust others

- He likes to study biology and history the most, but since he can't do math he leans towards history, I think he'd be a history professor as an adult :3

- He is bi and demisexual, he is relatively charismatic and does not come across as shy, but he's secretly very closed off and afraid of connection. It's easy for him to be friendly with people but hard to make deeper friendships or relationships

- He also has ADHD and General Anxiety Disorder. Ambrosius blames himself for the latter because he was so anxious/depressed when Gregor was a baby. Literally nobody agrees with this assessment

NIMONA DEMON SLAYER AU HEADCANON TIME

For those who doesn't watch Demon slayer, this might contain spoilers from canon

- Nimona may have the role of Tanjiro but she's also got the personality Inosuke,

- When they were young, Bal founded Nimona when she was just a little girl that's been all alone, so he and Valerin took her in

- She used to have long dull red hair as a kid, but as a teen her hair got reddish pink from eating almost half of the sakura mochi, and that she doesn't want her hair to be a bothersome

- Since Nimona and Bal are one of the eldest children in the orphanage, they take turns on who's selling charcole and who's helping Valerin with the children

- Even as a Demon, Bal can still talk from the Bamboo muzzle but it's almost clear to understand like how people speak with their mouths covered from a hand, only Nimona , Meredith, Ambro and few others can understand him.

- For Ambrosius, he's willing to follow the family footsteps in becoming the next demon slayer in a long line of Hashiras

- Ambrosius being so unwilling to continue his great great Grandma’s legacy, but seeing Bal and finding something worth protecting

- Since in this au, Gloreth is his great great grandma and the strongest demon slayer/lightning hashira ever to existed

- Ambro is such a big simp on Bal, the moment he first look at him, that he stared drafting his wedding vows, poetry, Haikus, and songs about how beautiful and sweet Bal is

- Nimona wasn't so please to know that he's simping on her dad, especialy if he makes Bal nervous and runs from him that she'll chase Ambro down with her bare hands

- Ambrosius offering nimona that he would carry the box that Ballister sleeps in that Nimona gets pissed THEN chases him around with her katana

- One night, Nimona tries to sleep then suddenly she hears the box open, followed by ambrosius "annoying" voice going "Bal!" Then she wakes up and tries to choke him

- A silly scenario from @mvjerbs Ambrosius's crow tells him about his mission and unfortunately it's in the opposite direction to where nimona was assigned. He tries talking to his crow and at some point begging the crow to assign him with nimona. His crow did not relent and he walks away from nimona sulking.

- If you're wondering on what Bal's Ability would be is that he can turn apart of himself like stone or maybe metal just strengthening his body

- Since Bal lost his arm the moment before he got turned he had to kickbox and headbutt

- Ballister had to hold her in her sleep to stop her from jumping ambrosius, because her hatred for ambrosius was so bad it made her do sleep walking. And it always ends up with ambrosius getting choked in his sleep, one of them has to wake nimona up before she could successfully kill ambrosius

- Eversince the night that Bal got turned, Nimona became super protective and clingy. Like whenever Bal's out of the box, she'd always holds on to him, big or small

- Like any Parent or Elder sibling, Bal often worries for Nimona, but he fully supported her in becoming a demon slayer just to restore his humanity

- During night time, when Bal's awake, he makes sure Nimona's fed, bathe, takes her medication, and well rested. He still wants to look out for her moee than ever now that she's a demon slayer

- Bal would often scold Nimona by pulling their ear if she does anything rude, reckless or stupid

- Ambro adores Bal being smol and tiny that he always cuddled him as much as he could, even if he has to deal with Nimona's wrath. Infact everyone else adores Smol Bal

- You may think Bal's hair would smell awful through the growth but actually, he washes his hair everynight. Ambro just desperatly wanting to smell his wavy locks

- Anyone who dares to hurt or insult Bal, Nimona would either beat the shit out of them, like the scene when Bal got insulted for being ugly, She'd beat the shit out of them like there's no tomorrow

- Throught the arcs Bal's hair had grown longer, so Bal's shoulder length from the District arc, elbow length at the Swordsmith arc.

- Nimona always ties his hair not because he's one armed but she enjoys to do so, braiding, halfbun, and or ponytail, she'd even put flowers and pins on it, this will make Ambrosius crazy for Bal.

- If anyone's nice to him or anyone Bal cares about he'll pat your head as affection, if it's Nimona, she'll chop anyone's head off for you.

- Based on the Manga, the perverted tailor gave Bal a uniform that shows his tiddies, and ass, that it made Ambro nosebleed and Nimona burst into flames just to give Bal a decent one

- Since the death of Val and the orphans, she became so overprotective and quite clingy to Bal that if she can't find him in 10 minutes she bawls like a lost girl who can't fond her daddy, until she spots Bal and rans into him.

- From @long-distance-muse The night Ambro met Bal, he secretly starting writing love poems, haikus, songs and drafted wedding vows to

- At night when Ambro sleeps, he always dreams of him and Bal getting married and frolic through the flowers just like Zenitzu and Nezuko in the Train arc.

- For those who wants to know how Ambro got his a hair colored, the ideas from @mvjerbs during the becoming, Ambro must attend the ritual in order to began his demon slayer career, then he stands on the rock, he thought he'll get his hair dyed but his mom explained that it's not dyed just changed. Cause the lightning will change his hair color, once the lightning strucks him. Once his hair was blonde the family cheered and tend to carry Ambro to continue the celebration.

- I had this super cute senario, when Ambro was cuddling Bal in his smol body, he had to look around to check if Nimona's around and once the coast is clear, he gently kisses Bal's forehead and continues to do so until Nimona burst into the room pulling out her Katanna and chases Ambro down.

- Nimona had to make sure Ambro isn't in the same hot spring with Bal.

- Ambrosous would chase Bal, calling him "BALLISTER CHAAAAAAANN!!" Over and over with glee😙😚🤤🥰☺☺😙😚🥰🤤.

The Circle is Reforged

Tamora Pierce's Circle Reforged books are an interesting case, because this is really where she started bouncing around in time in Emelan, and filling in some parts of story that were mentioned, suggested, or explicity referenced but not told. The books themselves were published well and truly out of chronological order, but having read them in publication order as they came out and then in chronological order on reread, I honestly don't think there's a "preferable" strategy. If you've read the Circle of Magic and Circle Opens quartets, you can explore the Circle Reforged in whatever order. However, I think I'm going to cover them in (more or less, no promises) publication order here. So let's talk The Will of the Empress.

*absolutely rampant, unapologietic spoilers for the Circle of Magic and Circle Opens quartets below the break*

This book explore the implications and consequences of Lady Sandreline being both Fa Toren in Emelan and Fa Landreg in Namorn. Our girl is practically royalty in two countries, but after she is orphaned in Hatar's smallpox epidemic, Duke Vedris in Emelan and Lord Ambros Fer Landreg in Namorn largely shield Sandry from her responsibilities as the primary landowner of the Landreg estates--which is entirely reasonable given that she is ten years old at the time.

When we get to the beginning of Will of the Empress, though, Sandry has been functionally running Emelan in the wake of Duke Vedris's heart attack and Ambros has been pointedly sending her account books for her Namornese estates. Sandry has been neglecting the hell out of those, and misses the fact that the Empress of Namorn has been financially squeezing Landreg to try to force Sandry back to Namorn.

Sandry has also been largely completed separated from Briar, Tris, and Daja for almost two full years by the opening of this book, since they went off to travel with their teachers and she stayed. She's had contact with Lark, but even that dropped significantly once Sandry moved into the Duke's Citadel.

Given all of that and two years of personal growth and change, when our four protagonists reunite in the house Daja buys for them, they collectively seize up in self-consciousness and shame and uncertainty. Plus seriously powerful ambient magic. Which literally everyone with eyes (except our protagonists) can see is a bad thing. So to kill two birds with one stone, Duke Vedris asks Briar, Tris, and Daja to go with Sandry to Namorn as basically bodyguards. The background hope is that the four of them get to know each other again and find their equilibrium.

With a lot of yelling and a distinct lack of talking, they set off to Namorn.

Which is when we really get off to the races, because the lack of talking means that Briar hasn't told the girls he's dealing with PTSD from the war in Gyongxe; Daja hasn't said she is dealing with abandoment issues, figuring out her own sexuality, and having helped kill a friend who had killed a lot of people by setting fires; Tris hasn't told anyone that she developed a skill that kills or drives mad 99.99% of all mages who try it and the whole Ghost-is-Jack-the-Ripper thing in Tharios; and Sandry...well, I love our girl, but she's dealing with a combination of inheritance and political machinations, her crippling terror of another family member dying on her watch, and the fact that she actively chose to rip three people to shreds to save Pasco's life. So everybody has big feelings and nobody is dealing with them or communicating effectively. Which, again, is a GREAT combination with the phenomenal cosmic powers.

This is a Sandry-centric book, but as we did with Sandry's Book, we also get a metric ton of the other three as well, because as they did in Sandry's Book, they're coming together as a unit. Trying very, very hard to prevent that are Berenene dor Ocmor, Empress of Namorn and her court mages, Ishabal Ladyhammer and Quenaill Sheildsman. They are trying to either recruit or get rid of four legendarily powerful mages. The recruiting goes...poorly. For a variety of reasons. The getting rid of goes WORSE.

Part of the recruiting scheme for Sandry specifically includes a himbo husband that Berenene can boss around to her heart's content. The approved suitors are Jakuben fer Pennun, who had himbo down pat, and Finlach fer Hurich, who was less himbo and more goldigging asshole with an influential uncle. Finlach ends up leaping SO FAR over the line that Berenene has to slap him down so hard that his entire life is ruined.

Then we come to Pershan fer frickin' Roth. Even if you take the Namornese tradition of kidnapping brides into account, Shan takes the whole thing to another level because his ass makes Sandry feel SAFE and WANTED and VALUED AS A PERSON before turning around and kidnapping her in a trap tailor-made for subduing even a very powerful stitch witch. Literally this man is the worst and he deserved so much worse than he got.

Overall, this book is about reconnection and remembering that some bonds are deeper than two-year world tours. It's also about seeing your siblings as their whole selves and accepting them, warts and all, because they are the people you love and who love you back. This is one of my favorite Circle Universe books, and I think it is objectively the best Sandry book and the best "all four of us are here" book in the Circle universe.

This book also objectively heavier than the Circle of Magic and Circle Opens quartets. It's still technically YA, but it's the 16-19 end of YA more than the 13-15 end, given that it deals with not only PTSD and trauma, but also sexual assault and kidnapping, so take care if you aren't in a headspace for those topics. The book will still be there, and taking care of yourself in your book choices comes first, always.

anyways, both the reader (or you lol) and reiner could not keep each other's hands off each other after that night, even though you swear on your entire family's dead souls that you hated him. his big fat cock was too irresistible to continue abstaining from and it's reiner, bro's a little too insatiable for only one round. he ain’t complaining though and he loves to fuck out those endearing i love you’s out of you, so two wins for him ig 😭

and of course, from a previous ask from an anon, reader does indeed get pregnant from the constant action lmfao

but ambro, couldn't the reader have done something to get rid of the child? yeah she/you could've, if not for the fact that you had began to develop feelings towards him (although its mostly bc of the amount of trauma you went through, extreme stockholm syndrome, and heavy coping you had to do in the aotverse, reiner’s the only stable thing in your life so you’re going to cling onto the closest thing of security you have, which is your captor unfortunately 💀) and you're kinda not opposed to it anymore. cacoëthes reader had always wanted to have a family but never thought it could be possible since giving life to a child in a world full of titans wasn't really ideal for starting one. lucky for you, you now live in a world where there's no titans (kinda)!

you were completely alone when you were going through the beginning symptoms of pregnancy, unaware of why you kept vomiting so often or why you had to go to the bathroom even more than before or why you were so fatigued after barely doing anything. when you went to the doctor, that’s when you finally found out that you were already 2 months pregnant. getting out of the office, you kinda snapped out of the housewife-sona you’ve developed in order to cope and become extremely aware of what was happening to you. you cried a lot, absolutely terrified that this was actually happening to you. you barely had your mom most of your life so you didn't know what you were going to do next, all you sorta knew what to do was to make sure that both you and the baby were going to be healthy for the rest of pregnancy.

reiner didn't know about it since he had to leave to go fight some more after a two month absence of him "taking care" of you and your injuries. he sorta did know that he had already gotten you pregnant from all those nights and afternoons fucking on every single surface of the home nonstop, but you never know. so when he came back about a month-ish later, his jaw dropped to the floor when you turned around with a slight bump in your stomach (around this time, you’re like maybe 3-4.5 months pregnant now).

he’s absolutely over the moon but you start crying in front of him, admitting that you’re so scared of the unknown future and what if he actually leaves for good (the abandonment issues are at an all time high bc of hormones and bc he did tell you that he’s going to eventually die in a couple of years 💀). reiner merely hushes you and tells you that you'll be a great mom and he'll be there for you for as long as he lives. it doesn't really make you feel better but the reassuring look in his eyes makes you feel some sort of dull comfort, it's better than nothing ig lol

reiner asks to be sent less often to the wars just so he won't miss the birth of his child or let you get injured again since you're alone most of the time. they grant this for him but they did dock his pay bc of it and it's not that bad of a cut, just more budgeting is going to be more involved in y'alls lives.

Is there any topic they’ll avoid - romance, death, family, etc.?

Erik personally avoids talking about the future. He is never sure what to say or if it really is written the way he has been told it is. Ghoul doesn’t like to bring up the past, she can’t remember any of hers, pre arisen so it frustrates her to know end. If she even gets a sniff that there is something Erik knows about her past that she doesn’t she gets upset especially when he seems to avoid certain questions about how he knows something about her. They are also really great at not asking direct questions.

How do they both generally regard guest pawns?

With open arms! Though their original guest pawns, Ambrosius and Quil have become more like a family to them with how often they travel and aid each other. There have been a few times where they have given Father Quil a much needed break or let Ambro have a week off because there is only so much silliness the beastren can handle. But when there are new *new* pawns that have joined them they take the opportunity to see what its like for other universes, especially Erik, who is always looking for a way to change their fate.

Do they have any pre-existing relationships with any particular NPCs from before the start of the game? Has becoming the Arisen changed those relationships?

Erik before being summoned as THE PAWN would often travel outside of the rift to entertain himself. He enjoyed to frequent taverns and lay with consenting (unless you don’t count them because they do no catch on that he is a pawn) persons in his spare time. So there are bound to be persons he runs into that he recognizes and that he hopes they do not recognize him. (which is very wishful thinking considering how tall this man is) Ghoul before becoming Arisen grew up in the nameless village. She used to know the people there in and out like the back of her hand and she was on her way in joining their guild of secrets. Srail and Ghoul were close even if Srail had a few years on her. They would often go hunting or scouting together or places bets on who could finish the obstacle course first. However Ghoul loses the majority her memory after falling from the griffin so she wouldn’t remember. Srail does however and its been a blade in his side watching his close friend he hasn’t seen in months stare at him like he is a stranger, he wont admit it though.

Diomede Chronos - Dark Cacao (Diomede refers to King Diomede who is said to have wounded even gods with his power)

Rhea Chronos - NOT CANON Dark Choco's mother and Dark Cacao's late wife (Rhea is the mother goddess and wife of Chronos, in my interpretation she and Dark Cacao were the closest things to soulmates the Dark Cacao kingdom had ever seen but she died birthing Dark Choco. Ever since Dark Cacao has mourned her but stays strong for her even through Affogato's manipulation.)

Ballister lifted himself up onto the rocks and sang, his brilliant black tail flicking the water beneath. It was the curse of the sirens that they should be forced to sing, forced to lure the sailors who would linger among them, enraptured, until succumbing to starvation on the barren seabanks of their island. The sirens did not wish to see their beloved muses suffer for them, but if any ship was able to resist their call and pass them by, or if any sailor managed to leave their island, they would all dissolve into the salt of the ocean. So he sang with his brothers and sisters, as beautifully as he could, desperate to lure any ship that came within earshot of their island, to preserve his family. Siren voices carry for well over a mile.

Just as usual, the ship crashed on the rocks and the surviving sailors were thrown to the sea below. They would need to retrieve them. Of course it would be easier to just allow the sailors to drown, but just as the sailors were enraptured by the sirens, so too were the sirens captivated by the sailors. It was nice, sometimes, to have their company, but in addition to that, sirens could not reproduce with one another. To keep their island alive, they needed to rescue the humans.

Diving below the sea, Ballister saw what appeared to be the Captain, based on his attire. He was young to be a captain, with blond hair that whipped and floated in the water. Ballister wrapped his arm around him and carried him to the surface, ushering him to the rocky shore.

Canals ran through this island of boulders, allowing the merfolk to interact with their human pets for however long they had. There was some freshwater springs, but no food. Sirens didn't need to eat.

He rested his hand on the Captain's chest and pressed until all the water was out of him. The man coughed and sputtered. He met Ballister's eyes. "You. Were you the one singing, with the beautiful voice?"

Ballister cradled his head and smiled. "I was singing with my brothers and sisters. We each have our own song. They harmonize when we sing together, but each one is a melody on its own."

The captain blinked. "What was your song?"

Ballister opened his mouth to sing softly. The man's eyes widened. "That's it! Your song is the one that I heard!"

Ballister blushed. "You only heard mine? We were all singing."

"I heard the harmony when we got closer. You all sounded lovely. Are you a mermaid? Or a siren?"

"I'm a merman," Ballister said with an annoyed albeit amused lilt. "But I am also a siren. They're the same thing, you know."

"Oh." The man looked over the stones and into the water, his eyes widening as he caught a glimpse of Ballister's tail. "You don't look like you'll try to eat me."

Ballister laughed. "We don't eat sailors! We don't need to eat. We live forever, unless we are killed or captured. I am a Guardian, I protect the island. You seem to be a pirate, but you don't look like you're going to brutally pillage me."

"Heavens no!" The Captain laughed nervously. "We aren't those kinds of pirates. I was the heir to a corrupt, powerful fishing company. They were exploiting their sailors and stealing from the public, so I rounded up some sailors and now we take down their fishing boats. We don't hurt anyone, we recruit those who want to join us and bring the rest home. Anyway, do you all have names?"

Ballister snorted. "Yes, and mine is Ballister."

"My name is Ambrosius. Hello, Ballister." Ballister just smiled and nodded. They weren't supposed to remember the humans' names. It made things too hard.

The siren's eyes widened when a warm hand, with a skin far more textured than his own cupped his face. "Has anyone told you that you are so beautiful, Ballister?"

He blushed and sank a bit deeper into the water. "I am frequently told I have a lovely voice."

"No," said the human-- the Captain-- Ambrosius. "That's not what I mean. Your voice is beautiful, but that's not what I mean. Something about your eyes. You're just the most gorgeous person I've ever seen. Not something I thought I'd ever say washed up on a boulder to a half-fish man, but I mean it."

Ballister laughed, but something inside him twisted. The siren's seductive magic lies solely in his song. He cannot keep a human captivated unless he is singing. He wasn't singing, but this man still looked at him with that look in his beautiful almond eyes.

Ballister had already decided that this human was going to be his. But now, he was starting to feel sure that he didn't want to let this one go.
