The ominous book began to buzz, as if a gravitational pull towards the pit of arachnids. It was a churning at the pit of her stomach, an acrid taste seeping from the edges of her mouth and onto her tongue.

"Oh my, you are not very open about your past, are you? Hmm ... I can respect that," said Shadowheart after the explanation is given. It just made her squint at Edelgard all the more. She seemed so ... out of place here. She didn't know why she kept thinking it, but those thoughts came unbidden whenever Edelgard spoke. Her voice ... manner of speaking ... the clothes. They were not so out of this world ... but they did seem ... uncommon.

Perhaps Shadowheart had not yet seen enough of the realms abundance to come to such a conclusion, however. Still, the feeling remained that ... Edelgard was a bit ... otherworldly. And more so than someone who wasn't native to Baldur's Gate.

"I'd like a cat ... or a fox. But first things first ... " Shadowheart trailed off as they entered a larger part of the cave, much more breathable here, even if the air tasted like acid and noxious fumes. She ducked behind a rocky pillar to witness the Spider Matriarch placing webbing over a group of her eggs before starting to scamper across a thin bridge to another set of them.

"I ... really wonder what we decided was so important to retrieve down here," Shadowheart mused in a low, nearly inaudible voice over Edelgard's shoulder. "She does not seem like she will be happy with our trespass or that she is ... open to any explanations we might offer."

yeah pretty much, i think i also answered a question similar to this one idk tho lol but reiner’s trying to get her pregnant + make up for lost time due to reader’s restraint on not trying to fuck him HAHA reiner might buy lingerie for reader to wear and for him to take off right after, but i think he prefers seeing her in the skimpy nightgowns (that he also buys her constantly lmao) with just her panties on cause he thinks she’s at her most attractive with those on.

if this was prior to the 3rd part, reiner would have to restrain himself in ways that seem impossible, but he manages to hold himself back. he teases her about how she misses him so much and reader insists that she all hers were currently being dried out from her doing the laundry earlier. whether or not that may be true, reiner WILL be jorkin it in the bathroom to the image of her in his clothes (maybe even steal that shirt once she’s done with it and before she washes it so he can still smell her while beating it LOL)

if this was after the 3rd part, bro is IMMEDIATELY jumping on her the moment he realizes what she’s wearing. even if she’s cooking rn, it don’t matter, reiner is bending her over the counter and getting every pent up bit that he had during the mission out on her. he doesn’t even remove the shirt, he just pushes it up a little to reveal her lower half and going to town. she probably wore it on purpose in this scenario, definitely cause she didn’t miss him or anything (she did a lil). he still teases her here, but it’s more sexual like “did you miss me that bad? did you touch yourself while wearing my clothes to feel yourself closer to me?” and no matter how much the reader denies it, he’s still blowing her back out while taunting her denials 🤭

well my fic requests are closed but my asks about certain fics are really never closed lol, and i’m assuming you’re talking about cacoëthes since that’s the only reiner fic within the canon universe

idk if marcel still lived, then reiner really wouldn’t have that reliable big brother kinda vibe that drew reader in the first place, and he’d be more of the pining type if that had occurred. BUT if he still had the same personality (highly unlikely but we’ll roll with it lmao) while marcel was still alive, he’d definitely would try to reason out to reiner why he shouldn’t be with this paradisian girl and definitely why it’s a completely terrible idea when they’re trying to complete their mission. i feel like if he was in the scouts with them, he’d definitely would have developed the same caring attitude he has with the warriors, even if he knows it’s “wrong” to even show an ounce of compassion towards these devils.

how he feels towards reader, probably just like an actual older brother since he misses porco deeply and she sorta reminds him of his little brother. if reiner did go throughout his plan, he finds devastation in it since he feels horrible about having her dragged into this mess when she’s completely innocent, tbh he’d probably fist fight reiner for going against his word. back in marley, marcel would watch over her, making sure she’s acclimating well in the new country and if reiner’s not messing with her too much. he’s the one that makes porco be nice to her and could definitely tell that his little brother has a soft spot for reader once they start hanging out more. he’s not completely thrilled at the idea of his little brother having a crush on his mentally adopted little sister, but it’s material to tease him more than ever!

i think he really would’ve prevented reiner from doing a lot of what he did to reader in the original fic story since reiner holds a lot of respect towards marcel, promising him to never lift a finger towards her nor to force her to do anything she doesn’t want since he already forced her to come to a strange new world. reader would cling onto marcel like he’s the only one she has left (he basically is since bertolt is still dead and gone and annie’s left behind in paradis), and though it irritates reiner to no ends, he can’t do anything about it.

reiner’s attached to her already during trost, so either the og plan is forced to speed up/get rushed or he’s kidnapping her and locking her away while faking her death until he’s able to take her out of paradis (aka like the normal canon). i think that both his “soldier” and “warrior” personas agree that reader is very special to reiner and they don’t want much harm coming towards her, though the “soldier” part of him is much more homely and gentle (still manipulative and conniving, but not as bad as the “warrior” persona). so the option of killing her is out of the question, and even annie and bertolt knows that.

tbh there’s not really much i can say about it?? reader would hate him regardless of what happens and how it happens; he’s still the armored titan that killed her family, he’s still the reiner that kidnapped her and took her away from everything she known, he’s still the reiner that kills the fisherman that would’ve taken her back to paradis, and he’s still the reiner that coerced her into having his kid.

you were completely alone when you were going through the beginning symptoms of pregnancy, unaware of why you kept vomiting so often or why you had to go to the bathroom even more than before or why you were so fatigued after barely doing anything. when you went to the doctor, that’s when you finally found out that you were already 2 months pregnant. getting out of the office, you kinda snapped out of the housewife-sona you’ve developed in order to cope and become extremely aware of what was happening to you. you cried a lot, absolutely terrified that this was actually happening to you. you barely had your mom most of your life so you didn't know what you were going to do next, all you sorta knew what to do was to make sure that both you and the baby were going to be healthy for the rest of pregnancy.

reiner didn't know about it since he had to leave to go fight some more after a two month absence of him "taking care" of you and your injuries. he sorta did know that he had already gotten you pregnant from all those nights and afternoons fucking on every single surface of the home nonstop, but you never know. so when he came back about a month-ish later, his jaw dropped to the floor when you turned around with a slight bump in your stomach (around this time, you’re like maybe 3-4.5 months pregnant now).

he’s absolutely over the moon but you start crying in front of him, admitting that you’re so scared of the unknown future and what if he actually leaves for good (the abandonment issues are at an all time high bc of hormones and bc he did tell you that he’s going to eventually die in a couple of years 💀). reiner merely hushes you and tells you that you'll be a great mom and he'll be there for you for as long as he lives. it doesn't really make you feel better but the reassuring look in his eyes makes you feel some sort of dull comfort, it's better than nothing ig lol

reiner asks to be sent less often to the wars just so he won't miss the birth of his child or let you get injured again since you're alone most of the time. they grant this for him but they did dock his pay bc of it and it's not that bad of a cut, just more budgeting is going to be more involved in y'alls lives.

AOT S4 FINAL PART SPOILERS JUST IN CASE

but in short, reiner does go off into the same plotline (he’s just a little less self-deprecating since he has a family to live for now) and does get released from the titan holder curse. i think i did also say that reader was with his mom at the time of the rumbling (still pregnant) so yk how they turn into titans for like a bit? she turns into one BUT DW THE BABY IS NOT AFFECTED OR HARMED DURING THIS PROCESS 😭‼️ and bc he now is able to live longer, both him and reader are still together and they’re working it out (not really, reiner’s still pretty controlling but becomes more lenient for reader since his paradisian friends are back and he knows how much reader missed them, and he’s still feels sorta guilty about the whole circumstance). she knows that he doesn’t like her talking to others for too long (and bc he molded her to be that way after the escape attempt/pt 3 of the series) so unfortunately she kinda hesitates bonding with her old friends bc it’s crazy awkward to talk about her time and relationship with reiner, and it’s been forever since she’s seen them.

reiner and reader after the rumbling become more like an old couple that bickers towards one another but they still love each other; kinda like when reader was at the braun family home to celebrate in pt 2 if y’all remember that, but it’s genuine, no more pretending.

the scout squad think its a pretty weird to see her and him being in a relationship (esp cause reiner literally kidnapped her) but they don’t really question it too hard, cause quite literally everyone there is traumatized and trying to do their own thing to heal. plus everyone there has done their own war crimes, so reiner kidnapping and having a family? unfortunately pretty tame compared to murder tbh 😭😭

TBH i feel like desiderate bertolt is more stronger than cacoëthes reiner, cause even in the canon storyline, bertolt was the one who was picked over reiner for the titan holder (we all know bro did NOT get chosen at all) and has the considerably strongest Titan before eren’s attack titan/founding titan form. but bert’s pretty lanky and reiner is much more beefier than him, even when he was going through it, BUT ALSO BERT IS MUCH TALLER THAN HIM SO?????

BUT THEN AGAIN reiner did amazing in the training scouts as he came in second place, over both annie and bertolt, two of the holders that were also chosen for their titans before reiner was swapped and reiner is also the one alive compared to bert (isayama tysm LMAO) 😭 but given that, i feel like cacoëthes reiner is more powerful strategically since desiderate bertolt wasn’t even the one that planned the entire kidnapping for his reader, he just asked reiner if he could so reiner could plan how to sneak her away from the others along with them LOL reiner in his story was already locked in from the beginning stages on how to bring her back to marley too and how to break her in slowly to have a family with him 💀

anyways! 12 year old reiner would definitely not know what love is, he’d mistaken it for something completely different, but assume that it is love for the reader. kids don’t know shit about relationships at that age tbh, so he tries to figure out what he’s feeling towards reader without a prominent parental figure helping him out, and his friends can’t really him either since he’s basically one of the eldest ones there. at that age, he just wants to be really close to reader and protect her, and there are times where he gets irrationally upset/jealous when she doesn’t wanna hang out with him, but he doesn’t really feel anything romantic until he gets older. crushes exist of course, but what reiner feels is nothing like a crush, it’s a needy obsession really.

and it doesn’t really matter if they’re neighbors or not, as long as reader is a paradisian specifically in cacoëthes, reiner would have still fallen in love with her. if she was his marleyan neighbor, there would’ve been a less likely chance that they would’ve ended up together tbh cause in cacoëthes, there isn’t that forbidden feeling that he had with paradisian reader that made him want to know her more and more, to come to the conclusion on why she specifically kept making him feel things for someone that he’s not supposed to be with.

and you may be wondering, ambro, since the baby isn’t technically reader’s, she wouldn’t care to leave them right? well yeah, she could very well still up and leave reiner, but the whispered threats of implying murder to a innocent child doesn’t settle very well in anyone’s stomach, especially hers.

i wanna say that she wouldn’t completely hate the child, she kinda eventually learns to love her baby during her pregnancy cause a baby is a baby, they're going to be born without hate or any ill intent, but she still holds a particular kind of fear towards them. they’re a part of her but also a part of the very monster that’s taken her to this place. the thoughts of what if they end up exactly like him comes to mind constantly: obsessive, selfish, deceiving. she's so terrified of what her baby would end up as but when the child is finally born (i feel like reiner would be more of a girl dad idk if i said this before), all those worries are washed away. reader can only silently promise to give this sweet child a complete ignorance of what it's truly like living in marley, so in a way, she's really trying to give them a good life compared to hers.

i've said this before in previous asks (maybe lol) but reader does have a large portion in her heart that shares a deep softness towards reiner and no matter how much she denies it and how insanely irrational it is, it's true. don't forget though, a small part of it still resents the hell out of him, it's basically the only sane part she retains but holds back. why? not even she herself knows but it's most likely the hormones making her bounce back and forth in her mind.

reader is mostly trying to protect the child from what the father truly is and her desire to run away again but with her child starts up again. there has to be a better life for them than constantly being under the watchful eye of him and she attempts running again when he offhandedly mentioned about getting her pregnant again once she recuperates. she doesn't get far and he catches her of course, threatening to take away their child from her if she does anything like this again. she can only weep and agree, clutching the baby deeply in her arms and preventing him from even trying to hold their kid. reader actually does eventually let him hold their baby but only if she's nearby and watching him bond with them; she always becomes a nervous wreck during it and reiner rationalizes it as just her motherly instincts so he never pushes/taunt her about it or pressures her to calm down. he really wished that she'll finally give into the idea that she's no longer going to get out of marley after the birth of the first child, but hey, that's what a second child is for 🤪🤪

After the rumbling, where no one is worried about the Titan curse ( mindless or intelligent ), can you tell me if reader and Reiner genuinely love each other and decided to reconcile their marriage? And if they have children, it’s two daughters. How will they reside those girls?

genuine love? not really, i also somewhat briefly implied in previous asks that they have a mutual agreement towards one another to not show the true type of relationship they have when the child is born, and that reader retains a small amount of fondness towards reiner that's extremely irrational due to how long they've known each other + the nostalgia she gets from their friendship back in paradis. it's not really reconciliation that they try to achieve or that reader wants, cause how are you really able to get over getting kidnapped, made to marry someone you've once thought as an older brother, and being forced to have his child?
