Despite being listed as official guests and even confirmed for a performance, the hottest group of the moment, Pick Me, was a no-show—well, sort of. This year’s FicFest Awards (@thatsofic) only saw two of the group’s members: leader Feng Yue and main dancer Kiko Mori, both there just to present awards. So, where were the other three? And why were Yue and Kiko strictly forbidden from mentioning Pick Me, not even to introduce themselves in their interviews? We’re all itching to know the truth, so let’s dive into the latest gossip, shall we?

First things first: as most of you already know, rumor has it that Pick Me is set to have a comeback in the next few weeks. But given all the chaos surrounding the promotions for their last mini-album, DOLL SUMMER, and the infamous drama between Yue and two of her members, Rosie and Jules, it’s no surprise Heartbreak Entertainment might want to keep Pick Me out of the limelight for a while—especially at a huge, high-profile event like FicFest.

What started as unproven accusations now seems an undeniable reality: there’s some serious friction (or dare I say, bad blood?) between certain members of the group. Not that it's entirely a bad thing, though. This shows the girls as real people with real personalities that, apparently, clash more than Heartbreak would like. But here's the thing: this inner tension is starting to take a toll on the group’s general image and promo work, and even Heartbreak Entertainment—famously lenient and transparent with their idols—seems to have finally hit its limit.

So, was keeping them out of the spotlight really the best move? I mean, look at us now—still talking about them, all because the full group didn’t show up at the awards.

But hey, as they say, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth! Even though Pick Me’s absence as a full group was definitely felt, Yue and Kiko totally held it together at the awards, avoiding any major drama and, shockingly, sticking to the Pick Me ban—well, mostly. The duo arrived together, both dressed to the nines and effortlessly stealing the spotlight from some of the nominees.

They rocked the red carpet, stopping to chat with Cleo and answer some fun questions, and snapped some photos at the photocall. Throughout the ceremony, they sat side by side, singing and having fun during some performances, while also mingling and taking selfies with other idols at others. When it came time to present their awards, they both delivered memorable moments. Yue dazzled everyone with her signature charisma, and Kiko was as sweet as pie, practically glowing when she handed the award to none other than the girls from Venus.

There’s nothing Yue loves more than putting on a good show, and what better way to do that than by posting a pic with none other than the officially recognized and award-winning it boy, Finn Lee? Oh, I almost forgot! This pic was taken during EVERMORE’s performance. Very on brand for Yue, I must say.

Yue has decided to share a sneak peek from her interview with Cleo. Think of it as a little teaser before the full interview drops! While we don’t know exactly what she was asked, here’s what Yue had to say in response: “It is what it is, right? Not everyone has taste. But don’t worry, there are plenty of other awards we’ve been nominated for, and I’m sure we’ll win some of those.”

Okay, I guess it’s not too hard to guess what the question was. But what she said! Don't forget to vote for Pick Me in all those other awards we all know about.

According to Yue herself, this stunning dress is from Fancì Club. It’s not the first time she’s collaborated with this brand, which has become such an essential part of her identity as an artist. It’s just so Yue! The color, the shape of the dress, the flowers—absolutely fabulous!

You can't have a recap of the night without a pic of our two dolls! Once again, the photo speaks for itself. What’s interesting, though, is that unlike Yue, Kiko hasn’t posted any photos with her friend and leader. I wonder why.

I have to admit, this photo has left me the most shook of the six. Here we have none other than one of the hottest boys of the moment, Choi Hanse, who just so happens to be Jules’s ex-groupmate from 2LUVU. So, I guess it shouldn’t be a shock that these two know each other and seem to get along. Or should it? Given the recent tension between Yue and Jules, things are a bit muddled—especially with that half-heart gesture Yue is throwing at him!

I love this little clip of Kiko's outfit! Since there's no audio, I’ll share the transcription of Kiko's response to Cleo about the dress: “I’m wearing Pink by Pink. It’s my groupmate’s very own brand, she’s literally so talented! We worked together on this dress for the last month, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I think it’s so me, and I really like that.”

No, this is not a drill! We’ve had a Produce 48 reunion at these awards, and it was absolutely heartwarming! If you found yourself tearing up when you saw it, you’re not alone—I did too! It happens to the best of us.

Several clips have captured Kiko, SNS' Nami and Jellib's Jooe wandering around the event, hand in hand, beaming with joy. This particular photo was snapped on the red carpet, right after Kiko and Jooe sprinted over to Nami, who was busy posing with her group. They enveloped her in a hug filled with laughter and happy tears. I adore these three so much, they hold a special place in my heart!

SHE'S JUST A FANGIRL (@venusvity)

Despite everything, this has to be my favorite photo. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you—it's a pic of Kiko holding a snapshot of our favorite it girl, Baebi. But it’s not just any photo; it’s signed! Rumor has it that Kiko approached her during one of the commercial breaks at the awards and shily asked her to sign it right then and there. Witnesses say the interaction was absolutely adorable, and Baebi was the sweetest, even inviting both Kiko and Yue to the after-party that Venus was hosting after the awards. Kiko is truly a ray of sunshine and must be protected at all costs!

Not surprisingly, here’s a photo of Kiko with her favorite producer and friend, Heidi from Girls Talk! At this point, we all know these two get along fabulously, but fans have been over the moon to see this picture. They both look stunning and so happy to be together! Speaking of the possible future comeback of Pick Me, could Heidi be behind the upcoming songs? We certainly hope so!

We’re wrapping up this multimedia recap with a little clip of our three Produce 48 girls sitting together at the start of the awards. Emphasis on "start" because they later had to sit in their respective spots with their respective groups. After her massive debut this year, of course everyone's favorite Barbie had to pull up to FicFest! So, how was Chouka's experience at the event of the year?

SHE'S FASHION'S FAVORITE B*TCH ... !

Of course, Chouka had to wear pink on a pink carpet. This is Chouka we're talking about. Being the industry's resident fashion expert and girly girl, she stunned in three archive pieces in one night. Her pink carpet look was Jean Louis Scherrer S/S 1988, gloves and all. Her presentation look was Guy Laroche S/S 1991, and her after-party look was Versace F/W 1991. Despite being a Dior ambassador, Chouka refuses to chain herself to the brand. We love that for her!

Seven years in the game and still, no one knows how Chouka manages to source her looks, but she's Chouka Aikawa. It's self-explanatory at this point.

Bringing Chouka's look together was her ever impeccable hair and makeup, the makeup of which was done by Chouka herself. BUT WHAT ABOUT HER PERFORMANCE ... !

Gagged me. Gagged you. Gagged your mother. Gagged your mother's second cousin. Gagged your dog. Chouka gagged everyone with this performance, girl!

Now, what she performed wasn't a new song by any means. "Silk 'N Diamonds" was already on Sincerely. However, it was unfortunately regulated to a deep cut and rarely performed live, and damn, weren't Rosettes mad! So, when Chouka decided to finally give everyone what they'd been waiting for at FicFest, her fans couldn't have been happier.

Everything from the stage design, to her costume, to her hair (she was wearing a tiara, by the way!) was praised to hell and back, because of course it was. But, you'll have to watch it yourself! Which you can see...

001. A CHAT WITH CLÉO! (@hausofanya)

One of the interviewers on FicFest's pink carpet was Stray Kids' Cléo Torell, whom Chouka definitely had to chat with! From the three things she couldn't live without (hint: it's definitely her closet) to the fact that she couldn't shut up about her newlywedded husband Jason (justified, honestly), it was quite the interesting interview. You can read all of it here!

002. CUTEST COUPLE AT FICFEST!

Oh my God, Jason and Chouka were the cutest thing ever that night. From giggling and publicly flirting during a joint interview to Jason being the first one to give his wife a standing ovation, they said to hell with netizens and were as lovey-dovey as possible. But the best part? Jason pulling Chouka into both a kiss and a hug after her performance. Needless to say, Rosettes in the crowd went batshit. Get yourself a man like Jason Day-Fujiwara, y'all.

003. "YES, I LIKED THE PERFORMANCES. NO, I DON'T HATE ANYONE."

Chouka is known for her resting bitch face, as seen with all the shots of her in the front rows of Parisian fashion shows. And of course, her RBF was on full display during FicFest. But, that doesn't mean she hated being there! However, there were some people (read: Twitter users) that... didn't like how she looked during some of their faves' performances. It got to the point where after the ceremony, an interviewer asked Chouka if she liked the performances from her fellow idols. Her response? "Yes, I liked the performances. No, I don't hate anyone."

Chouka had to tack on a couple more words, of course, saying, "Well, I do strongly dislike some people, but I don't need to name names right now. Regardless, cool it with the misogyny."

004. TWO PRETTY GIRLS PRESENTING!

Chouka had the pleasure of presenting "Most Visually Pleasing Lineup" during the ceremony, alongside the second gen visual herself, Park Ah-reum of DI-VERSE (famously known as Ahri). The duo to end all duos, the fact that they were paired together was a hot topic all down the timeline. On Chouka's end, everything about her while on that stage was a talking point. From the fact that she changed her dress to her professional attitude to even her voice (her accent is always a favorite), Chouka Aikawa was definitely one of FicFest's "It" girls. But, that's not surprising in the slightest.

THE AFTER-PARTY ... !

Following the ceremony, Chouka invited everyone she knew to her very pink penthouse apartment in Hannam the Hill for Chouka's Very Pink Afterparty! Complete with rosé champagne and other pink cocktails, hors d'oeuvres in various shades of, well... pink, and even a photobooth (in, you guessed it, pink), this afterparty is one of the hottest on the block! Like a cross between a high-end cocktail party and the cutest tea party ever, it's all you'll ever talk about!

Chouka would say "girls only," but unfortunately for her, everyone's welcome.

BAD GIRLS CLUB - HOT ISSUE ! ... HOT ISSUE is the first extended play released by fictional girl group Bad Girls Club. The EP did well, exploring a new concept for the girls, retro futurism and old Hollywood. VIVID - MIDAS TOUCH ! ...  "Midas Touch" features signature sounds and synthesizers from the 2000s whereas "Nothing" is a medium-tempo R&B song inspired by the same era. You're so needy (Strade/MC BTD Fic)

I really like it when Strade is a giant tease, and I feel like he'd enjoy being a huge tease too. If he had both Ren and an MC, I bet he'd do crap to make them both pouty and riled up.

Strade got ideas sometimes, and he just couldn’t help but act out on them. This one wasn’t as bad as some of the ones he’d had in the past, but it was still incredibly awkward. 

Practically pinned under his weight as his hands groped and roamed your body, squeezing and stroking different areas like your navel, your neck, your spine. At first it was hard to figure out what he was doing, since he had just begun to touch you without any warning. 

When a rough hand snuck up your shirt though, and began to pinch and roll your nipple between two fingers, you got the idea though. He was trying to figure out what you liked, how you liked to be touched. 

At first you had done a pretty good job of showing now reaction, something that obviously annoyed him, made him move on. But once he started paying attention to your chest it became a lot harder, and you couldn’t help but let out a small groan as he continued his ministrations. 

You managed to turn your head away, but this only let him bury his face into your neck, beginning to suck on the thin flesh there. You watched as Ren came into the living room, pausing at the scene. His eyes had gotten a little wide, and he stood staring for a bit too long. 

“Ren… Can you get him to stop?” you asked meekly. One of Ren’s ears flicked, and he hummed for a second before continuing into the kitchen. 

“Sorry, when he gets like that there’s nothing you can do but just tough it out.” He came back in, opening up a can of soda. You shot him a nasty look as he settled himself in a chair, grinning. “I’ll watch though!” 

You heard Strade give a small chuckle, then yelped as you felt his teeth sink into your clavicle. As quickly as he’d sunk his teeth into you, he began lapping at the wound. Not deep enough to bleed, but it was definitely going to be a bruise. 

The pain was enough of a distraction that you hadn’t noticed his free hand moving down your stomach, between your legs. Feeling the first gentle touch, your hips flinched back, not prepared. Strade didn’t let it deter him though, and instead slipped his fingers under your thin pair of shorts, running his callused index and middle finger along your sensitive parts. 

In spite of yourself, you moaned. It had been hard to remain passive ever since he’d begun roughly pinching your nipples, but now that he was stroking your erogenous zones, your walls broke down.  

You finally moved your arms, not to push against his chest, but to wrap around his shoulders, pulling yourself closer. 

“Strade…” You gasped, trying not to think of how Ren had his eyes glued to you both. “Come on, just put it in…” You were getting frustrated now. 

“Oh?” Strade broke his silence, pulling away. His eyes weren’t on you though, they were focused on the clock on the wall. You glanced over at it. Six pm. 

“The liquor store is gonna close at seven. I better get going if I wanna get some more beer.” You laid there in shock as Strade got off you. 

“W-WAIT.” You yelped, scrabbling to sit up and looking over the couch. Strade stopped, looking at you. You could feel yourself blushing. He had to know what he was doing. 

“We… We were just getting started…” you managed to get out before Strade began to laugh. It was absolutely humiliating, as he continued to grab his keys and wallet to leave. 

“Oh? You wanted more?” he asked. He looked at you expectantly. He knew the answer, but he wanted to hear you say it. 

“Y-Yes.” You managed, digging your fingers into the back of the couch. 

“More what?” he pressed, you turned your head to look away, but could see him approaching from your peripheral vision. 

“I.. I uh…” You shifted on the spot, swallowing. He was really going to make you say it, he could never just keep things easy. “... I want you to, fuck me.” You finished lamely. Strade grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at him as he studied you. He had a really obnoxiously smug grin on his face. “You’re such a needy little thing aren’t you?” he asked, patting your cheek. “Wait right here.” Your heart skipped a few beats as he left the room. Did this mean he actually was going to fulfill your request? 

“Don’t get your hopes up.” you turned to face Ren, who looked a little disappointed the show was over. “He loves teasing people. Don’t worry though, I’ll take care of you once he’s gone.” So that’s why Ren stuck around the entire time. You both looked back up as Strade returned.

“I don’t have time to go digging around for something better so this will have to do.” he was holding a scarf from the closet. 

Strade didn’t waste any time, and you could only gasp at the quickness of him tying your arms behind your back with it, cinching it just a bit too tightly. 

“Stay ready for me when I get back, Schatz. I’ll see if I’m in the mood to fuck you after I run my errand. And you.” Strade pointed at Ren, who was beginning to slide off the chair. Ren paused, then quickly sat back, looking attentive. 

“No touching them, and keep an eye on them, make sure they don’t find a way to get off, alright?” 

Ren’s ears flattened against his skull, now frowning at Strade. Strade looked over you both, seeming to bask in the two grumpy faces he had in his living room now. He seemed to really get a kick out of winding you up and leaving you wanting.

🧶 Remember we won’t be closing our applications. So if you want to join the fest later on, you can!

🧶 Every Author can choose a prompt and it will be assigned to you if it’s available.

🧶 Authors can sign up with their own prompt, as long as it follows the fest guidelines.

🧶 You can enter the fest with different stories, but you have to fill the form for each story.

🧶 Every Author will receive a date for publication. We’ll be sending you an email when we get the starting number of writer who are willing to join.

🧶 There won’t be a deadline for this fest. You’re free to join whenever you prefer, but we will give you a publication date so it’ll be easy to schedule for us.

🧶 We predict the publication can start from January 2025, but we’ll discuss it with each authors later on.

This is our first fest, so we’ll likely make many mistakes. We’re hoping that authors and fellow readers will excuse us in advance.

IIBB is a panfandom mini-bang challenge. This means that if you sign up to participate, you agree to make a complete piece of fanwork by the assignment deadline. For 2024, we will be accepting fic, art (including comics), fanmixes, podfic, and vids. Detailed guidelines are in the rules. If you would like to make fanwork in another medium, let us know and we’ll be happy to include it!

IIBB 2024 will run from July 10 - Sept 12. Sign-ups open July 10 and close July 17. Assignments are due Sept 12.

WIP snippet

Thanks to @aquietlarrie and @allwaswell16 for the tags! I can’t wait for your works to be ready to be shared with us all to comfort read them <3 this is a snippet from the fic I’m currently working on for the @omegaharryfest ! I’m very excited about this one ✨

“It’s okay.” Louis’ voice was calm and gentle. Not a trace of fear in his brave glance. If you knew him well enough, you could have caught a hint of insecurity holding back his confidence by a thin thread. He would get away with it a moment after.

“I trust you. You’re the only one I trust.” A whisper only meant for him, to reassure his inner dilemma, to cuddle the intrusive feeling of guilt that was making his hands shake.

The black kopis felt heavy in the middle of his chest. Louis paid enough attention to the historical weapons lessons to recognize the effigy on the handgrip. It was strangely thrilling to find comfort in the thought that Alexander Magnus used the same knife to cut the Gordian knot, literally and proverbially. Almost ironic how much the entire situation could be fitting the metaphor so well.

The pale fingers wrapped around the handle were the perfect contrast to what was going on in his breaking soul. The intentions were so clear, still Louis could see on his face all the second thoughts he was having.

“I trust you and I love you.” Louis reassured him. He hoped this wouldn’t have taken any longer. There wasn’t another way to go through this. Louis felt his own throat go dry and suddenly it became harder to breathe. A flash of determination crossed over his face and Louis knew it could have been the last time he saw those emerald eyes.

That’s one way to go, anyway.

“Do it.” Never had his voice sounded more powerful.

He stared in his eyes when a broken gasp let out his lungs.

“Ad vitam aeternam.” The heavy knife with a forward-curving blade was pushed down, to cut his chest in two.

When Louis’ heart realized there was not a single glimpse of hesitation in Harry’s eyes, it beat for the last time.
