@sleeplessness-moonie asked for ❛ you have blood on your hands. ❜

MOTOMAMI | see you in formula one
Tumblr media
series masterlist | navigation
warnings: self-doubt, angst word count: 3.4k summary: it's the final race of the 2022 f2 championship, is valeria ready to give it her all to win the champion title and enter formula one?
Tumblr media
FIDGETING WITH THE rings on her fingers, Valeria didn’t pay much attention to the race engineers debriefing after the qualifying that afternoon. She drowned out the conversations around her as the doubt and worry consumed her senses, her mind filling with endless thoughts about what could happen at the race tomorrow.
Her qualifying didn’t go bad per se; She earned herself P2 for the starting grid, one place right behind Felipe Drugovich who has been her biggest rival during the championship. He was always there, either a few points behind or ahead of her. Whatever happens at the race would break or make the other’s standing.
“... Valeria?” Cecília gently shook the girl next to her, her face showing signs of worry as she looked at the young driver. “Is everything alright? We need you to pay attention, linda.”
“Sorry, zoomed out for a second,” trying to shake off her intrusive thoughts, Valeria pulled herself together. “I’m all ears.” She smiled at the team, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
The debrief was over and before anyone could say anything, Valeria had bolted out the door to reach her driver’s room. She had to gather herself before facing the people outside the motorhome. Taking deep breaths, she pulled out her earphones and clicked onto her paddock playlist. The soothing voice of Kali filled her ears, instantly calming her a little as she thought of her friends. If Kali would be here right now, she’d know exactly how to lift Valeria’s mood.
A text of Benny, her PR manager and childhood friend, ripped her out of her thoughts.
We’ll leave soon, okay?Didn’t want to disturb you since I know you probably want to be alone right now
Smiling slightly, she appreciated how considered he can be at times like these. Valeria valued her friendship with Benny a lot, even more so now that he’s working with her and was there for her at every race because of that.
Shooting him a short reply, she sighed as she packed her necessities together. Ready to leave with the safety of her music blasting through her ears, Valeria decided it was best to find her team to drive back to the hotel.
Opening the door, she let out a gasp of shock as she saw Felipe in front of her, his fist raised to knock. “Oh fuck, you scared me!” It slipped out of her mouth faster than she could think. Pulling her earphones away, she looked at him in question. “What are you doing here?”
“Sorry,” the Brazilian sheepishly apologised, scratching the back of his neck nervously. “I just wanted to wish you luck for your race tomorrow.” He held out his hand for her to shake. “No matter who wins. No bad blood, right?”
“Uh…” She looked at him, unsure how to process his appearance. She didn’t know whether to take his words seriously or not, Valeria opted to not be a total asshole, Valeria appreciated his gesture more than doubting his intentions.
So, she took his hand and shot him a genuine smile. “Thank you, likewise. May the better one win, I guess.”
“Oh I’ll make sure of that,” he smiled teasingly. Laughing, Valeria slightly hit his chest. “Yeah right. Good joke.” He laughed as well.
“So… see you tomorrow?” They made their way out of the motorhome together, coming to a halt when their ways parted. “Or more like, you’ll see me since you’re behind me.”
Laughing again, Valeria slapped his arm. “What happened to the shy teammate I had in Formula 3? I think I liked that Felipe more.” She shook her head, still smiling at her former teammate.
“I guess he grew up,” Felipe shrugged, growing more serious for a second. “I do hope for a good race tomorrow, no matter the outcome.”
“Me too.” They smiled at each other for a second before the moment was interrupted by Benny walking up to them. “Vale! Our ride’s here- Oh, hey Felipe.” He looked between the two drivers, trying to read the atmosphere. Sensing no stress, he sighed in relief. “Our ride is here, just wanted to inform you.”
“Oh, yeah, thanks.” Valeria turned to Felipe. “Sleep well tonight before I beat your ass tomorrow.”
Felipe grinned at her. “Whatever makes you sleep at night.” They chuckled before wishing each other a good night and parting their ways.
“All good?” Benny asked Valeria as they turned to leave the paddock. He took one more look at Felipe behind them, shrugging it off.
“Yeah, all good.” She bumped her shoulder into his, wrapping her arm around his shoulder as they left for the hotel. “Everything’s gonna be good.”
Everything wouldn’t be good. The guilt, the doubt and the worry came flooding all back when Valeria found herself alone in her hotel room at night. While the whole city was sound asleep at an hour like this, she was pacing around her room with her hands nervously combing through her hair.
She went through every possible outcome of tomorrow’s race, but got ultimately stuck on the negative ones. She couldn’t bear the thought of getting out of the car and meeting all the disappointed faces of her team, of the Prema Racing team, of the Mercedes team and Toto. Valeria knew she had a shot at the free seat at Mercedes for the next Formula One season, it was just one race away from being hers.
“We want to see how well she performs under real pressure.” Is what Toto had said to Victor, her manager, when discussing the terms of her possible contract. “If she wins the championship, she’s in. That’s our one condition.”
Balling her hands into fists, Valeria could see her younger self staring back at her reflection through the bathroom mirror. She felt like back in the US when she drove her little rundown kart at various competitions, the laughs and teasing from her competitors ringing in her ears.
“Who let her drive here?”
“I didn’t know they let charity cases like her into the karting competitions now.”
“It’s cute that she thinks she actually has a chance at winning.”
Splashing her face with water, she looked at her shaking hands as the water slipped through her fingers. She gritted her teeth in anger, sinking down on the bathroom floor. The tiles felt cool against her back, the temperature change calming her nerves for a little bit.
Will the self-doubt ever end? She asked herself, knowing that deep down she knew the answer was ‘no’. Before the qualifying, Valeria had talked to Lewis for a brief minute.
“Kick their asses, alright?” He had smiled at her, petting her head as if she was his little sister. “I want to see you next year on the podium next to me.” He had given her a little push, his significant laugh filling the air. She had answered him with a nod, a smile of her own facing him. But inside of her the turmoil hadn’t stopped.
Breathing through her nose, Valeria knew it made no sense to let the doubt plague her any further. She wished she could just mute her own head. Closing her eyes as she still laid on the bathroom floor, she envisioned what it would feel like to win. She would reach that one goal she only dreamed about; Becoming a champion and advancing to the top.
Valeria knew she had to win. If not for the seat at Mercedes, then for little Vale who had done everything in her power to get her where she is now.
THE NEXT MORNING came around faster than she had imagined. Not sleeping much that night, her drumming thoughts made the time pass quicker than she had anticipated. Groaning as her alarm went off to remind her to get ready soon, Valeria popped some Ibuprofen to get rid of the hammering headache.
“Don’t you look like an angel,” Benny teased his friend as soon as Valeria stepped inside the breakfast room of the hotel. Shooting him a glare, he knew better than to push any more of her buttons. “Okay, not in the talking mood, I get it.” He raised his hands in surrender.
“I’m sorry for being an ass,” she sighed in defeat, rolling the food on her plate from one side to the other with her fork. “It’s just-” She stopped when Benny put his hand over hers, stopping her motion.
He looked her into the eyes, his smile genuine. “Vale, I know. I get it. It’s alright.”
Valeria knew he meant the best for her with his words, but something in her bubbled with anger. He did not get it. He had never found himself in her position, so how would he understand what she’s going through?
Pulling her hand away, she nibbled on her lips as she decided it was better to just not say anything at all. He sent her a pressed smile before continuing to eat his foot.
“How’s my little star doing?” Victor, her manager, came up behind her and put both his hands on her shoulders, slightly massaging her. “Oh, you’re tense.”
“What did you expect?” She snapped, mumbling a small sorry after realising she had come off as a little too harsh. “Ugh, I hate myself right now.” She held her head in her hands. “I’m awful.”
Victor and Benny exchanged looks with each other. Her manager turned to Valeria, “Well, it’s all going to be different in a few hours. We have faith in you, even if you don’t have it in yourself right now. The more you pressure yourself, the worse you’ll be able to focus.”
What was supposed to be encouraging made Valeria sigh even more. She was pressuring herself a lot right now and it’s not like she can just turn off those feelings, so does that mean she’ll lose it all in the race?
“Come on, eat up so we can go to the paddock.” Victor patted her shoulder, pointing towards the plate which had all the nutritions she’d needed for the race on it. “Benny, make sure she eats it up.” With that, he left as he picked up a phone call.
Forcing the food down her throat despite the nausea growing inside her, Valeria and Benny made their way towards the car where the rest of her team waited for her. Rio, her trainer, shot her a smile of encouragement as he opened the door for her. “Here you go, future champion.”
During the ride, everyone seemed to talk over Valeria’s head about the upcoming race while the girl had her headphones on to avoid any conversation. She already dreaded the celebrities who were at the paddock for the Formula One race which would take place after the Formula Two one.
Of course the paddock was packed with people from all over the world. Drivers, their team, the media and celebrities crowded the entrance as Valeria got out of the car. In an instant, she found herself surrounded by various interviewers bombarding her with questions about the upcoming race. Before Valeria could even digest all the information thrown at her, Rio had stepped in and pushed the reporters away as gently as possible to avoid any drama.
“No questions right now.” She could hear Victor behind her as Rio shielded her from anyone further invading her space. Quickly pushing through the crowd, the team was able to avoid any more complications upon arriving at the motorhome. Valeria felt her shoulders tense even more when seeing her engineers and mechanics inside the garage, all of them putting their hopes for the win on her.
Up until two hours before the race, Valeria felt as if the time was passing by slowly. Everything blurred into each other when sitting down to discuss the strategy for today’s race. They kept telling her what to do, but the only thing she could focus on was her racing heartbeat.
When it was time to prepare mentally for the race, when she finally found some time to cool down, Valeria distanced herself from her team and the garage. “I just need a moment for myself.” She told the others, earning concerned looks from them before walking off.
How am I supposed to last in Formula One when I’m already so stressed out now?
Sitting down in a more secluded era, she felt like she could finally breathe for a second without anyone looking down on her. She knew they all meant well, however, it just all felt overwhelming to the point where she could lash out and scream at everyone out of frustration.
Looking down on her phone, she contemplated whether or not to call Tyler. As someone who understood the struggle of not wanting to disappoint his fans, she knew he’d find the right words to calm her nerves without the typical ‘you can do this!’ bullshit.
“¿Oye hablas español?”
Valeria got ripped out of her thoughts, the unfamiliar voice making her furrow her brows in confusion. Looking up, she saw a man walking up to her with a big smile painted on his face. Turning her head to her side, seeing if he was talking to her or not, she raised her brow at him in question. “¿Qué?”
“I know a Latina when I see one.” He laughed, sitting down next to her without asking for permission. Valeria’s mood soured a little, she wanted a moment alone and he just bursted in without a thought. However, there was something so soothing about his presence that she couldn’t describe in words.
“I’m sorry but, who are you?” She asked, the confusion clearly taking over her whole demeanour.
“Filly,” He stretched out his hand towards her to shake. “Sorry for just coming up to you. You looked a bit grim and I figured you’d need some cheering up.” Scanning her outfit, noticing her driver's suit, his eyes widened for a second. “You a driver?”
“Yeah.” She shrugged, taking his hand before shaking it. “Valeria.”
“I’m really sorry, I’m kinda new to the Formula world. Didn’t know they had a girl.” Filly chuckled. “But that’s good, aye?”
“I’m not in Formula One.” She corrected him, smiling a little. “Formula Two, actually.”
“Oi, that’s impressive. Good thing I came earlier, so I can watch your race.”
“I mean, I don’t know if it’s going to be as spectacular as the Formula One one.” She shrugged, dropping her shoulders a bit.
“You just gotta make it interesting, then.” He pushed his shoulder slightly against hers. “You nervous?” He made it sound like a question, but they both knew it was more of a statement.
“There’s… I guess you could say a lot depends on how I do today.” Valeria wasn’t about to share the whole story, and thankfully, she felt as if Filly understood. “Lots of pressure, you know.”
“I figure, the more you stress, the more you’re setting yourself up to fail.” He just said.
Letting his words sink in for a second, Valeria found herself agreeing with him. “But I just can’t make it stop. Otherwise, trust me, I would’ve done that already.”
“I’m not a racer, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe once you enter the car your worries will go away.” He sent a small, comforting smile her way. “And then, when you achieve what you set your mind up to, find me afterwards and the first round is on me.”
Giggling at his statement, she nodded. “Now I have to win, don’t I? For the shots, at least.”
“I guess now there’s no other way to go.” He stood up, holding his hand out to help her up as well. Dusting her suit off, she looked up to him. “Is it weird if I hug you?” Bursting out in loud laughter, Filly wrapped his arms around her shoulders to embrace her in a hug. Valeria felt a little lighter, some of the worry falling off her chest.
“I’ll be at the finishing line, yeah?” He winked at her before waving her goodbye.
“I bet on it.”
FILLY WAS RIGHT. The moment Valeria had entered her car, her helmet secured on her head, her visor down, her hands gloved up and feeling the familiarity of her wheel under her fingers, she felt her worries and doubts zooming out. Her eyes were fixated on the red lights, a quick glance towards Felipe slightly in front of her, the roaming of the motors hammering through her helmet into her ears.
It’s lights out and away we go!
Her reaction time was good, though so was Felipe’s. She couldn’t get in front of him, him quickly defending his place when she tried to push past him. Looking behind her, Valeria could see the chaos behind her. The start was always the most nerve wrecking in her opinion, everyone trying to gain as many positions as possible.
She figured it’d make more sense for her to try to overtake Felipe later on, focusing more on keeping her position as second place until everyone had spread throughout the track a little. Hopefully, she was making the right decision on it.
It wasn’t up until a couple laps left when she found a moment to overtake her rival. She had tried many times throughout the race, her mind filled with possibilities on how to get the win while simultaneously defending her current place. Valeria had waited for a moment of weakness of the Brazilian, a small mistake which could lead her to victory.
She grew almost frustrated by his defending skills, her grip tightening around her wheel. Her focus was slipping away second by second as she kept trying without getting any closer to her goal.
“The more you stress, the more you’re setting yourself up to fail.”
Taking a deep breath, Valeria detached herself from the nagging thoughts. Feeling herself becoming lighter and lighter, her eyes focused on the car in front of her. She felt like Felipe was taunting her a little.
“You just gotta make it interesting, then.”
“I’m going all in.” She unpressed the button which connected her to her team, drowning out their response before pressing the gas pedal even more. Iit was now or never.
I will not lose this close to winning.
Valeria couldn’t remember what happened afterwards.
The adrenaline was spiking high, the blood rushing faster than the cars on track through her veins and her nerves were skyrocketing through the roof. It felt as if someone else was taking over her body, her decisions and choices feeling surreal.
The next moment she felt like she was back on earth was the moment she drove over the finishing line, the chequered flag waving at her. She couldn’t properly breathe, the screams of excitement filling her ears as her team principal shouted into his mic.
“YOU’RE A CHAMPION.”
I’m a champion.
Her legs were shaking as she stepped out of the car once she was parked. Immediately, her team ran up to her and smothered her in hugs, all of them knocking on her helmet while grinning from ear to ear.
Valeria couldn’t even come up with any words, her mind completely blank as she pulled her helmet off. Breathless, she looked at her team, her engineers, her mechanics. They all waited for her to say something.
“I’m a fucking champion.” She laughed as she held her helmet high up in the air. “¡Un maldito campeón!” She jumped up and down, the realisation kicking in and her emotions running absolutely wild.
Felipe came up to her after getting out of his car. He held his hand out, a smile gracing his features. “You really didn’t make this race easy.”
Looking down on his hand, Valeria shrugged before giving him a hug instead. “Never said I would.”
“¡VIVA MÉXICO CABRONES!”
She was swept off her feet, her father holding her up as he yelled at the top of his lungs. A Mexican flag was tied around his shoulders. Laughing at his antics, she joined him as they chanted the national anthem of their country.
When the official celebrations came around, Valeria was close to tearing up as she stood on the highest step of the podium. The flag, which was previously around her father’s shoulders, was now tightly tied around her. As the trophy was handed to her, she had the proudest smile on her face.
In the crowd below her, she could spot Toto. He gave her a thumbs up, a smile matching hers on his lips. Grinning, she pointed towards the Mercedes logo which was stitched on her suit.
See you in Formula One next year!

part 2
Tumblr media
pairings: remus lupin x fem!reader, sirius black x fem!reader
warnings: smut (MDNI 18+), language
part 1
────── ☾ ──────
Sirius opened his mouth to say something as Remus approached, but Remus put a hand up to cut him off.
“Nope, don’t even, I’m still mad at you,” Remus stated, walking past Sirius.
“Oh come on!” Sirius called to him, “look, I said I was sorry.”
“I know, but I’m still mad,” he called back, “and jealous, I guess.”
Sirius shrugged, “well maybe you should stop eating out your hot girlfriend in a communal space, Moons, what did you expect?”
Remus stopped in his tracks. He turned around and approached Sirius, stopping only a few feet away from him.
“You know you aren’t supposed to look at her like that.”
“Jeez, Moony, you aren’t my dad.”
Sirius’s nonchalance bothered Remus. Remus was hot-headed, and it was nearly the full moon, which meant his emotions were heightened even more than usual.
It also meant he was hornier than usual.
He marched to your dorm, swinging the door open, despite the two other girls sat on the floor, textbooks sprawled across their laps as you all studied together. “I need you.”
Your eyes shot up at him, the other girls scanning his figure up and down. “Rem, I’m studying,” you told him, as if he couldn’t see you doing just that.
“Please, I just need to borrow you for a minute.” Remus tried not to sound desperate, but he most certainly did. He didn’t care if the girls knew he wanted to borrow you to fuck you senseless, he only cared that he remained level-headed until he was alone with you.
You gave a smile to the other girls, closing your textbook and placing it on the floor before standing up and following Remus to his dormitory. He anticipated that it would be empty, but instead he found Sirius, cross-legged on his bed, a book in his lap.
Remus contemplated his options. Ever since Sirius’s infraction, he had avoided being with you in front of him, worried Sirius would try something again. However, today, he was angry, and he wanted to piss off Sirius by asserting his authority and dominance over you.
He pushed you onto the mattress, immediately hiking up your skirt and pulling down your underwear.
“Remus!” you squealed, taken aback by his haste.
He shushed you, saying, “need you bad.”
“Remmy, it’s not even a full moon tonight, you can usually wait until later in the da-“
Remus cut you off by shoving two fingers into your hole, not caring about warming you up as you squirmed from his touch.
“Shit,” you whined as his mouth connected with your clit, his tongue lapping up any wetness.
You moaned, your hands gripping his hair as he continued to shove his fingers in and out of you, his unoccupied hand pushing (with difficulty) his trousers down until he was left in his underwear, his hand sneaking past the waistband to lightly stroke himself at the sight of you.
Sirius was already in a fight with Remus over watching you, and part of him didn’t want to make anything worse. Part of him also thought that since they were already in a fight, what did it matter? He would just have to be more careful.
You whimpered when Remus hit a particularly good spot, and Sirius looked toward you through hooded lids, ready to retreat his gaze if Remus checked in on him, but Remus was focused only on you.
He had almost forgotten Sirius was in the room, his desperation and need growing more intense with each moan and whine you let out.
He pulled away from you, pulling his boxers all the way down before crawling on top of you.
“I need to feel you, pretty girl, are you ready for me?” he cooed, stroking his cock faster and faster as he waited for you to respond.
“Please, Remmy,” you begged, and he nearly came in his hand at the sound.
He lined himself up at your entrance, slowly pushing in despite his need. He would never give up watching your face as he pushed into you, even if he was desperate. The way your face contorted, the small whimpers that left your lips, the way your hair looked sprawled out on the pillows, the way your skirt bunched up around your waist-
He bottomed out inside of you, immediately starting to thrust in and out of you.
“Shit, Rem,” you moaned at the feeling, “you can use me.” You knew what he needed when the full moon was near, but your statement still drove him crazy as if he had never heard it before.
Remus placed both of your wrists above your head, holding them with one hand as his head dipped in the crook of your neck, his unoccupied hand finding your clit and rubbing fast circles as he fucked you. He didn’t care about timing, he just needed you bad. He needed to come inside of you, but he needed you to come first, even if it all happened quickly. He adored the feeling of you coming on his cock, and needed to feel it to achieve his own high.
You turned your head so that Remus had more room to rest his on your shoulder, and you glanced at Sirius, who shifted his seated position as he heard you moan. You remembered the last time he was in the room, and you hoped he would look over at you again, your eyes focused on him as Remus pounded into you at a ruthless pace.
He finally did glance at you, but he did a double take, checking if you were really looking at him, and you were. You nodded your head up and down, a way to tell him it was okay with you if he watched, and that you wanted him to do as such.
His eyes remained on you, scanning your body up and down, watching your thighs fall more and more open as Remus’s hand moved faster and faster on your clit.
He loved seeing you with your hands above your head, a new sight for him, Remus having full control over your body.
Your back arched off the bed, causing the pressure on your wrists to increase as your climax threatened to hit, Remus’s hand and his cock almost too much to hold it together.
“Sir- shit, I’m gonna-“
You squeezed Remus’s cock like a vice, your high washing over you as your thighs shook.
“Shit, baby,” Remus breathed.
He didn’t catch your almost-slip, but Sirius certainly did, his eyes darkening as he watched you come down from your high, your body still shifting back and forth on the bed from the force of his best friend’s hips snapping against yours.
“Gonna come in you,” Remus moaned, a final few, sharp thrusts sending him over the edge as he came, groans in your ear that only you could hear as he spilled his seed inside of you.
You signaled for Sirius to look away as Remus let go of your wrists, pulling out of you before standing up and gazing at your fucked-out frame.
“Thank you, baby,” he placed a gentle kiss to your forehead, “let me get you cleaned up.”
He stretched a hand out to you, and you took it, allowing him to guide you to the bathroom.
Sirius did not speak to you for an entire week after that.
You tried to spark conversation, but he always found an excuse to leave the room or divert his attention. Remus noticed, but assumed it was because of the first time he watched you, and he quite enjoyed the thought of Sirius leaving you alone.
You were seated in the common room, everyone apart from you and the boys at a party in the Ravenclaw dorms. The boys had decided to skip this particular party thanks to Remus, who was falling behind in Transfiguration, and who cursed the Ravenclaws for throwing a party the night before a massive Transfiguration exam.
“I can’t fucking focus,” Remus spoke, annoyed at his inability to comprehend the subject.
“I have some extra notes in the dorms,” James spoke, “I can try to find them, maybe they’ll help?”
“Yeah, alright,” Remus agreed, “worth a shot.”
Remus sighed, placing a kiss on your forehead as he and James retreated up the stairs to search for James’s extra notes.
You turned to Sirius, who avoided meeting your gaze.
“Please talk to me, Sirius.”
He ignored you completely.
“Siri, please.”
The pet name broke him out of his mindset. “Don’t call me Siri.”
“Why not, Siri?” you teased.
“Because it does things to me. Stop.”
“Why?”
“Seriously, Y/N-“
“Seriously what? Why won’t you talk to me?”
Sirius lowered his voice, whisper-yelling, “what do you mean why won’t I talk to you? I’m finally in a decent spot with Remus, what am I gonna do if he finds out I eye-fucked his girlfriend again while he was in the middle of railing her?”
“What does that have to do with you speaking to me?” you questioned.
“Because every single time I look at you, I see- I see you like that.”
You raised your eyebrows in surprise at Sirius’s confession. “Really?”
“Shut up.”
“You like what you saw?” you teased.
“Shut up.”
“You wanna see more?”
“Stop,” Sirius warned.
You listened intently up the staircase, and heard James yell, “I fucking swear they were here! Check in that one.”
You propped your legs up on the coffee table, allowing your legs to fall open and give Sirius an unobstructed line of sight to your core.
“Do you wanna see more?” you asked again, running a finger over your underwear, just above your folds.
“Don’t fucking tease me.”
You nodded your head no, you were indeed not teasing him. You really were going to touch yourself.
You moved your underwear aside, giving Sirius full view of your most sensitive area as you put one of your middle fingers into your mouth.
You made a show of sucking on the digit, wetting the skin before slowly inserting it into your now-wet hole. You let out a light whine, so as not to alert Remus of what you were up to.
Sirius tried to restrain himself, but he quite literally could not take his eyes away from you. He was obsessed; a man starved who finally found sustenance. He couldn’t look away if he tried.
You began to move your finger faster and faster, your other hand coming up to squeeze your breast over your shirt.
“Shit, Siri,” you moaned, and Sirius nearly lost it right there.
He stood up and approached you, gripping the wrist that was moving your finger inside of your hole.
You assumed he would stop you, but instead, he pulled your finger out, pressing two of his fingers to your lips and allowing you to suck on them.
When he was satisfied with how wet they were, he replaced your finger with his own, his pointer and middle entering you slowly as you threw your head back.
Sirius turned his head to the staircase, hearing “well why wouldn’t they be with literally every other set of notes?” and “fucking hell, can you check the trunk over there?”
Sirius met your eyes, watching you squirm as he fingered you, his thumb finding its way to your clit and rubbing circles, a small smile finding its way onto his lips as he watched your reaction to his touch.
As he pumped his fingers faster and faster, he began to curl them against your spongy walls, a euphoric feeling.
“Siri, fuck,” you whined.
Sirius’s unoccupied hand went to your mouth, covering it to keep you from being loud enough for Remus or James to hear.
“You’re so fucking pretty, did you know that?” Sirius spoke, hand still ruthless on your core, “staring at me with someone else’s cock in you, thinking it won’t affect me?”
You whined under Sirius’s hand, your hips beginning to grind on his hand as he continued speaking.
“Silly little girl, don’t you know Remus said we shouldn’t look at you? You keep breaking his rules, and that’s only something bad girls do. You’re not a bad girl, are you?”
Sirius only moved his hand from your mouth to hear you respond. “Maybe I am, Siri,” you moaned.
Sirius placed his hand back over your mouth, his fingers fucking you faster and faster after you spoke. “You wanna be a bad girl? I’ll treat you like a bad girl. Isn’t that what you want, huh? Staring at me when you have Remus inside of you?”
Your high was dangerously close, Sirius’s fingers better than you could have ever imagined, when Sirius heard “fuck this! I’m just gonna go back downstairs.”
Sirius immediately pulled away, placing your legs back in a normal seated position as he sat back down across from you, scanning the pages of his textbook as if nothing had just happened.
“Sorry that took so long, dumbass couldn’t even find the extra notes,” Remus said, plopping down next to you and throwing an arm around your shoulders, “did I miss anything good?”

First Kiss - Remus Lupin
Tumblr media
₊‧⁺˖⋆ Masterlist ⋆˖⁺‧₊
Summary: Sirius, James, and Peter tease Remus about his lack of a first kiss.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
The Marauders’ dorm was a hub of noise and laughter that night, with Sirius sprawled out on his bed, proudly recounting his latest adventure with a girl he’d met in Herbology. He stretched his arms out with a smug smile. “Absolutely couldn’t keep her hands off me,” he said, punctuating the sentence with a wink. “Who could, right?”
James, perched on the edge of his bed, raised an eyebrow but couldn’t keep from laughing. “Right, because obviously, you’re the irresistible Sirius Black. Never mind your terrible reputation.”
Sirius rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. “At least I’m doing something about my love life, unlike some people here,” he said, nodding toward James. “Speaking of—how’s it going with Evans?”
James grinned, his eyes brightening. “Actually, better than usual,” he said, a bit bashfully. “Last time I asked her out, she didn’t seem nearly as annoyed. Progress, right?”
Sirius clapped his hands together in a grand show of celebration. “It’s happening! Lily Evans is finally seeing the charm of our dear Prongs!”
Remus, sitting off to the side with a book in hand, did his best to block out the conversation, though his lips twitched into a faint smile. He turned the page, not really reading it, but it was better than participating in the banter. Maybe, if he was quiet enough, they’d forget he was there.
But, of course, they didn’t.
Sirius smirked as he turned to Remus. “What about you, Moony? Got any secret admirers you’re hiding from us?”
Remus shrugged without looking up. “No,” he said simply, his eyes stubbornly fixed on the book in front of him, even though he hadn’t comprehended a single sentence since Sirius started talking.
James leaned back, resting on his hands, and squinted at Remus with a skeptical grin. “I bet you haven’t even had your first kiss yet, have you?”
Remus felt the tips of his ears go warm. “What does that have to do with anything?”
Peter let out a small, surprised gasp. “Wait, really? Remus, you haven’t?”
Remus gritted his teeth, shrinking back slightly as all eyes in the room turned to him. “Yes, really. So what?” he said, bristling defensively. He sank lower into his chair, feeling the familiar urge to just vanish.
James held up his hands in a calming gesture. “Nothing wrong with that! It’s… noble, even,” he said, nodding. “I’m waiting for mine, too. For Lily.” He leaned back with a dreamy look on his face, as if he could see her there in front of him, and Remus had to bite back a chuckle.
But Sirius wasn’t about to let it go. With a mischievous grin, he jumped to his feet and swaggered over to Remus, leaning close. “You know, Moony,” he whispered conspiratorially, “I could help you out. Want me to teach you how to kiss?”
Remus’s eyes widened, and he tried to pull back, clutching his book tightly to his chest. “What? No, stop that!” he stammered, face burning. “I know how to kiss. I’ve read books!”
But Sirius was undeterred, moving even closer and pursing his lips in a ridiculous kissy face. “Oh really? The books taught you, did they?”
Remus flinched, scrambling back as much as he could while stuck on the bed, his face turning an even deeper shade of red. Sirius was nearly nose-to-nose with him when the door creaked open, and a voice interrupted their antics.
“Um…” You paused in the doorway, eyebrows raised as you took in the scene. “Should I come back later?”
Remus jerked upright so quickly he almost fell off the bed. He shot Sirius a warning look and quickly scrambled away from him, trying to salvage whatever dignity he had left. “No! No, you don’t have to leave,” he said, still looking as flustered as ever. “Stay. Please.”
You glanced between them, an amused smile on your face as you walked over. “What’s going on?”
Remus coughed, his gaze shifting to the floor. “Nothing. Absolutely no—” He could only hope you wouldn’t ask any more questions.
But, of course, Peter piped up. “We were just talking about how Remus hasn’t had his first kiss yet,” he said with a cheerful grin, clearly oblivious to Remus’s mortification.
Remus shot him a look, but the damage was done. He glanced at you, his cheeks going pink all over again. He hadn’t wanted you to hear about it, of all people. If he’d felt embarrassed before, now he was ready to crawl under his bed and never come out.
“It’s not a big deal,” he muttered, clutching his book like a lifeline. “I was just going to go somewhere quiet to read. A place where they don’t talk about my… kissing experience,” he added, shooting a pointed look at his friends.
Without waiting for a reply, Remus turned and made his way out of the dorm room, his heart pounding in his chest. He was halfway down the corridor when he heard footsteps following him. He slowed down and turned to see you jogging to catch up, your face softened with concern.
“Hey, Remus,” you said gently when you reached him, looking him in the eyes. “Is it true? You haven’t, um…?”
Remus sighed, pressing his lips together. He’d never thought about his inexperience much before, but now it felt like a glaring flaw. “Yeah, it’s true,” he admitted, his voice barely more than a mumble. “It’s a bit pathetic, really, isn’t it? Everyone else—Sirius, James—they’re all so confident, and I’m just…” He trailed off, letting out a frustrated sigh.
You reached out, your hand resting on his arm, stopping him in his tracks. “I don’t think it’s pathetic at all. It’s kind of sweet, actually.” Then, with a small, knowing smile, you leaned in and pressed a soft, quick kiss to his lips.
It was so brief that Remus barely had time to process it, but when you pulled back, he was frozen in place, staring at you with wide eyes and a stunned expression. His cheeks went a brilliant shade of red, and he swallowed, completely speechless.
“There,” you said softly, smiling up at him. “Now you don’t have to be embarrassed about it.”
The sound of voices suddenly broke the quiet, and the two of you turned back to see James and Sirius shouting about something from inside the room. You chuckled, rolling your eyes. “I should probably go check on them before they tear the place apart. You go enjoy your book, alright?”
With a final, reassuring smile, you turned and walked back to the dorm, leaving Remus standing alone in the hallway, still clutching his book and staring after you, completely dazed.
He finally looked down at the page in his book, a foolish grin tugging at his lips. He knew that focusing on reading was going to be utterly impossible.

WHUMPTOBER 2024: Day one, prompt: 'Race Against Time' Summary: On a bad full moon, remus ends up hurting you and its a race against time to get you help. Warnings: Blood, gore, cursing. Word count: 1.8k
Note: Welcome to whumptober 2024!!! ⛤⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽⛧☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅⛤
MASTERLIST ⛤ WHUMPTOBER 24
It was that time of month again. The time of month where Remus, the poor boy, wasn’t in a very good mood. With a very valid reason. It was far enough into the year that it was dark only a few hours after you finished your classes. It was late afternoon, and the rain pattered quietly against the glass panes of the marauders’ bedroom. The four of you were enjoying the last few moments of calm before you had to head out to the shrieking shack for the night. You would have spent it in the common room, but the noise was just too much for poor Remus’ ears, so instead you were curled up on his bed. He was pressed against you, head resting on your chest as you ran your fingers through his curls in an attempt to soothe him. You could tell that he was in quite some pain, even if he tried not to show it. He always was just before the full moon. As you shifted, re-adjusting your position to get more comfy, Remus grumbled, pulling you closer to him and away from James who was residing to your left.
“Sorry baby.” You apologised softly.
He just grumbled something rather incoherently, but he seemed to forgive you.
As the sun continued to dip below the skyline, and the sky resumed that muggy grey colour, the feeling of unease seeped into the room. It would be time to go soon. You hated the full moon. You hated seeing your boyfriend in so much pain every night. But eventually, Sirius was the one to break the tension.
“We need to go…” he said slowly and quietly as if he didn’t want to say it at all.
Pressing a kiss to Remus’ forehead as he stood and took Sirius’s hand, you stood up off of the bed, entwined your fingers with James’ as you made your way to the shack.
~
The Shrieking Shack was dark and dingy as always. The grey walls and crooked ceilings did little to make Remus feel welcome, and the soggy leaves that stuck to the floor, blown in by the wind or brought in on the bottom of your shoes did very little to add to that feeling. Using your wand, you lit the fireplace, hoping to eliminate some of the chill in the air and to make the transformation a little bit more comfortable for Remus. It didn’t help a whole bunch, but he appreciated the sentiment. As the fire lit up the room with its golden hues, you could see the plethora of scratch marks clawed into the wood like permanent scars; reminders of Remus’ torment. The sight of them made you shiver, and James gripped your hand tighter.
With a hand on Remus’ back, Sirius guided him to sit on the floor. Remus let out a pained noise. The moon was high in the sky now, and the transformation was starting. You could hardly watch as Remus cried out in pain, his bones snapping and twisting as they re-organised themselves. No matter how many times you saw it, it never got easier. You buried your face into Sirius’ chest until the noises stopped. When you turned back around, instead of your boyfriend stood a werewolf. That was your cue to shrink down into your animagus. The world twisted around you as you and your other two partners transformed. And usually that would be that. The three of you would watch Moony and make sure he kept out of trouble and as long as you didn’t do anything to aggravate him, he wouldn’t mind the presence of your animagi. However this time….something was off.
Instead of ignoring you and going to prowl through the shack, Remus was still. And staring straight at you. He tilted his head at you. His ears twitched and his eyes, gold as the sun, pierced straight into you. You stood your ground, but you couldn’t help the nervous twinge in your stomach. Moony had never shown this much interest in you before…as he took a step forward, his head bowed towards you, James let out a warning noise. And then everything sort of…snapped. Went to chaos like it never had before. Remus charged forwards, lunging on his hind legs towards you. James was quick on his feet, knocking him to the side with his antlers. Sirius darted towards you, urging you to run as you let out a frightened squeal and scattered across the room, slinking under the bed. There was a loud howl, followed by the loud thump as the werewolf crossed the room. You backed yourself further under the bed against the wall. You could see his paws as he stopped at the foot of his bed. The sharpness of his claws scraped against the floor. With a low snarl, he lowered his head, nose twitching as he tried to find you. Once he had spotted you, he snapped forwards. You darted across the room, weaving under the piano and scrambling down the stairs. You could hear a commotion behind you. Likely a frantic James and Sirius trying to slow Remus.
You managed to hide under one of the chairs downstairs. Your heart was pounding as you tried to catch your breath, hoping that you would be safe for a little while. But your hope was short lived. Werewolves have an incredibly good sense of smell, and even better hearing. Remus would have been able to hear the rapid beating of your heart from a mile away. Everything went impossibly downhill from there. As Remus bolted down the stairs after you, James and Sirius were close behind him, but not close enough.
The werewolf managed to grab you from under the chair with his claws. They dug into your flesh, tearing it as he dragged you out. You let out a strangled noise, your animal for trying to fight against him. Once he had pulled you out, Remus pinned you to the ground with a heavy paw, his claws still digging into your flesh like swords. You were paralysed with fear as he leaned down and snarled at you. Moony had never attacked you before. You cowered, writhing in pain as you struggled to get away until suddenly the weight was knocked away from you by an angry pair of antlers and a loud, authoritative bark. Things were a blur as James drove Remus out of the shack and into the forest, distracting Remus from you so that Sirius could shift back and kneel by you.
“shit….Shit!” Sirius cursed as he looked down at your tiny form, your fur stained sticky with blood. This had been the boys’ biggest fear. The reason that Remus had been hesitant to let you come with them in the first place….Sirius was panicking. His heart pounding in his chest. The shack was dark, despite the fire still burning, and it was hard to tell how much damage had been caused when you were still in your animagus form. But he knew it would be hard for you to shift back, given how distressed you were. So, gingerly taking his wand from his pocket, he cast a spell over you and watched as you shifted back, your pained squeaks turning into pained sobs. Tears streamed down your face as you gasped in pain, disorientated.
“Okay….it's okay.” Sirius said, trying to reassure you. Or himself. Probably both. His hands tried to stem the blood flow. “You're gonna be okay…I got you…”
You whimpered, crying out. The wounds burnt like fire, like an impossible amount of agonies all at once. Your vision blurred.
“Hey. stay awake. You have to stay awake okay?” Sirius pleaded with you. He couldn’t let you pass out. Not before he got you to a healer. But he also couldn’t just leave James with Remus….
You let out another weak, pained noise as the world spun. Sirius squeezed your hand, cursing himself for not being better at healing spells. “Come on…talk to me baby.”
“...hurts….” you managed to get out.
“I know…I know. It's okay though. You’re gonna be fine. Moony’s sorry…and James- Jamie is gonna get back here soon and then we’ll get you to Poppy, okay?”
You didn’t really give him a response, which worried him more. He cursed silently, trying to keep you awake and to stop you from losing too much blood. But as time ticked on and you grew weaker with no sign of James, he realised that you were running out of time. That was when Sirius decided that he was going to have to take a risk. Easing his hand under you, and grimacing at the cry you let out as he lifted you up, he began to carry you out of the shack. He was silently praying that James was okay and that he had managed to distract Remus enough that it would be safe enough to get you back to the castle.
Sirius held you close to his chest as he hurried back to the castle. He whispered words to you, trying to get you to hold on as you faded in and out of consciousness in his arms, just hoping to whatever gods were listening that he would make it in time.
~
Someone was holding your hand. The hand was soft, but calloused and all so very familiar to you. Remus. He had been by your side since he woke up. And he had been beating himself up ever since. He perked up as he saw you start to stir.
“....baby…?” He asked, his voice almost a whisper.
“...hm?” You murmured. Your eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the harsh light before you realised you were in the hospital wing as it all came back to you. There was a bandage wrapped securely around your torso, and you were a little sore, but thanks to madam Pomfrey’s magic, you felt like you were healing nicely. When you realised fully who was beside you, you couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on your face.
“...moony…”
Remus cracked a sad smile. “Yeah…it's me…hi sweetheart.”
“...you okay..?”
Remus couldn't help the small laugh he let out. Of course you were worried about him. “I’m fine ...but baby i’m so sorry…i-i don't know what happened.”
You squeezed his hand. “It's alright. It wasn’t you.”
“I should have been able to control myself–”
“It wasn’t you, love.” you cut Remus off immediately, feeling the need to let him know that he wasn’t responsible for what happened.
He sighed softly. You could tell he was still feeling incredibly guilty, but had decided to drop it for now.  “You’re too good to me..to us.”
“Nah. it's just love.”
Remus’ face flushed proudly. “Merlin…i love you so much.” he pressed a kiss to your head “so damn much.”

Note
If I can have the pleasure of making the first request...🫣 Can you do something with young Remus Lupin? Maybe something really silly and sweet, like, he and the reader are in a secret relationship (kind of to avoid the commotion that James and Sirius would make about the fact that he's dating at all) and somehow he ends up with a face full of faint lipgloss kiss marks, which not even the reader realizes about, until the other marauders notice and discover their secret. Maybe the reader will even join in and tease Remus with them a little?
Sorry if the idea is bad, pls don't feel obligated to do it. I'm really not good at this kind of thing...
Have a good day anyways ☺️
Kisses ~ Young Remus Lupin
“Remus, you’re limping! Please let me help you.” I whisper-yelled at Remus, walking through the corridors.
“I can do it.” He grunts, still in pain from yesterday’s full moon.
“Well, at least let me tend to your injuries!” Remus looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“I’ll do it myself.” He said, shaking his head, “I don’t want to be a burden.” He muttered under his breath.
I stopped him dead in his tracks
“A burden? Are you serious?” At that, Remus smirked
“No, Sirius is at the library waiting for us with James. We can’t be anymore late!” He replied quickly, resuming his walk towards the library.
“Sirius and James can wait. Remus, please, at least go to Madame Pomfrey so she can help. I really hate seeing you like that.” It really pained me seeing him in this hurt state.
Remus sighed and clutched his bag tighter.
“Fine, but come with me.”
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
“You’ll take this right when you wake up and before you go to sleep for the next three days.” Instructed Pomfrey, giving Remus a vial containing a purple potion, “It should help restore your energy back.” With that, she left, going to aid another student.
“Are you happy now?” He asked me, smiling.
“I’m more than happy.” I leaned down, since he was sitting on one of the beds, and kissed him once on the lips.
Looking at him, I chuckled under my breath at the sight of a lipstick mark on his mouth. I decided to kiss him once again the cheek, leaving another mark. Opting against wiping it off, I thought he’d like a little teasing from his friends.
“Let’s go. We can’t make the boys wait any longer.” I grabbed his hand and made our way through the corridors and to the library.
Before entering, I released Remus’ hand, since the boys didn’t know about our relationship. Yet.
At the sight of us, James and Sirius perked up. But once we got closer, they noticed Remus’ face and started laughing. I knew exactly why.
“Hey guys.” Remus said, sitting down opposite them, taking out a book from his bag opening it, ready to study.
I plopped down next to him, and a chorus of hushed exclamations was heard.
“Do you know that red suits you well, Moony?”
“Had a lover and never told us, you traitor.”
Remus quickly lifted his head up, confused.
“What? What are you talking about?”
Sirius and James could only laugh at Remus’ face.
“W-What is it?!” Remus exclaimed looking at me, while I only shrugged, a slight smirk resting on my face.
He could only conjure a small mirror to look at himself. Once noticing, the realization of why they were laughing quickly downed on him.
“Wow, Remus, when were you going to tell us you had a girlfriend?” I asked, deciding to join the teasing, while the other two were dying of laughter.
Remus glared at me, but couldn’t help the smile that was appearing on his face.
“So? Who is it?” Sirius asked, still giggling a bit, nudging James with his elbow.
I leaned my head on my fist and looked at Remus, smiling sweetly. He sighed and glanced at me, chuckling before answering.
“You’d be dumb if you didn’t know who.”
I'm sorry I took too long to write this, but here it is! i hope you like it <3

-Remus Lupin x reader
{A lazy Sunday morning is rudely disturbed by James and Sirius, much to Remus’ dismay}
Short and sweet! Hope you enjoy as always lovelies!💕
!18! {Its a little suggestive}
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆
Remus loves mornings with you, how your gentle fingers run up and down the expanse of his back, he sighs against your collarbones as your fingers graze against his scars that are littered over his skin, you enjoy the roughnesses of them.
You spent the night over at his apartment, enjoying the silence since both James and Sirius were gone.
He nuzzles his nose against your neck as he presses kisses along your shoulders, “Mm, you’re so cuddly in the mornings” you giggle, running a hand through his pillow-tussled hair.
You can feel him smile into your skin as he throws a leg over your own, “You’re so warm” he says, voice still a little raspy from sleep. His hand slips underneath the oversized shirt you’re wearing, and you hum softly at the feeling. He props himself on his elbow, gazing down at you with soft eyes, “And so very pretty dove” he smiles, dropping a kiss to your shoulder, then another to the corner of your mouth.
The butterflies in your stomach are all too prominent at his loving words, and goosebumps prick at your skin as his hand traverses up your body. He notices, of course, he does he always notices the way your body reacts to him.
That’s why he decides to push his luck, leaving a hot trail of kisses along your neck, his soft lips lingering at the sensitive parts of your skin making you sigh with pleasure and it only fuels him to go further.
“I love you” he whispers, lips grazing against your jaw as he moves to lay in between your legs. He continues to pepper kisses along your skin as your fingers thread through his hair, and he smirks when your hips writhe under his own.
You gasp when he grinds down against you mimicking your own actions, “I love yo-” and before you could even get the four words out there’s a loud knock at his door. Remus lets his head drop against your shoulder as he groans.
“Come on Moony! You promised us breakfast” Sirius yells from the other side of the door, followed by James saying something about how he was ‘starving’
Remus lifts his head from your shoulder, “Talk me out of murder” he says, dropping a kiss to your shoulder as you try to stifle a laugh behind your hand.
“We couldn’t do this” you smile, tucking his hair behind his ear before leaning to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth and he hums in agreement. And despite the relentless knocking at his bedroom door he still kisses you, thumb resting against your chin as his tongue pushes against yours.
He pulls back, his forehead against yours and for a moment the sound of the knocking is drowned, it doesn’t last long enough though as both James and Sirius start hammering at the door with their fists.
You giggle as he stands up from the bed, the door swings open, “Oh come on! You’re not even dressed!?” James complains throwing his hands up in the air.
“Yeah put a shirt on you flirt” Sirius smirks, his head popping out from behind the door as he sends you a small wave greeting you a good morning, you wave back to him with a laugh.
Remus threads a hand through his hair, “Give me twenty and we’ll be ready” he huffs, watching as the pair nod their heads, and just like that the door closes again and he climbs back into bed with you.
He notices the confusion that paints your face as nuzzles back down into your arms, “Just five more minutes dove” he smiles and you don’t fight him on it as your arms wrap around his shoulders, because how could you deny that?

A Veil Of White
Pairings: Sirius x Remus, Sirius x Reader, Wolfstar x Reader
| Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Warnings for the series: light violence, angst, light smut
Word Count: 3.6k
Synopsis: 15 years ago you fell through the veil. A little less than 15 years later, Sirius followed. He expected death. No one returned from the veil so that was the only logical conclusion. What he didn't expect was to meet you again.
This story was inspired by @ellecdc and her anon who had this absolutely stellar headcanon that you should read right here. I kind of ignored like half the idea in regards to pairing but it's a fresh spin, that's what we do around here babes.
✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿ ✭ ☾ ✿
Remus thought it could never happen again. But magic was a strange thing. His memories seemed to flash by him in slow motion, starting with the day he graduated Hogwarts.
You weren’t posing for pictures with everyone else and your parents weren’t taking them for once. Instead, the three of you were far away from the marauders and the rest of your friends as you signed a contract. Remus — and the others, although they were trying to act like they weren’t — watched you finally sigh in relief.
“Is it done?” Sirius asked.
You nodded, holding up your version of the contract that freed Frank from all responsibilities regarding your very unplanned baby. He didn’t even have to pay any child support. Your family could more than afford it. What you and Frank wanted was a clean break away from each other. With the support of your friends, you were more confident about your decision. Still nervous, but confident.
You clapped your brother on the shoulder. “Jamie, do me a favor and go elope or have a baby or something. Anything to make you the family disappointment again.”
Everyone else smiled as James protested about ever being the family disappointment, only for Fleamont and Euphemia to inform him that he wasn’t a disappointment but he wasn’t the favorite child either. James crossed his arms.
“How are we still counting Regulus? He ran away. That makes me at least the third favorite child… Is it running away if you go back to your original parents?”
Fleamont shrugged. “He’ll be back. Let’s not make you upset by dropping the ranking when he does. Best to keep it as is.”
Sirius, not caring that he wasn’t the first or second favorite on account of sneaking Moony in after curfew on multiple occasions, howled in laughter. He did it again when only two years later he was staring at another baby in a crib. This time James’ son. Sirius picked Harry up, propping him up on a single hip, and bringing him to the kitchen where everyone else was.
“Moons, promise me that we aren’t adopting or getting anyone pregnant until we’re thirty.”
“I’d love to make that promise, Pads, but clearly you Potters are cursed. Count your days before we end up with our own.”
It was a joke. That was all it was ever meant to be. No one in the kitchen at Potter Manor ever predicted it coming true. Only a few weeks after that hangout, everyone abandoned the manor when the war suddenly ramped up. James, Lily, and Harry went into hiding. Regulus did come back, spending lots of nights painfully fighting with his brother about both of their regrets in how he left. He proved himself useful as a spy. Remus moved back in with his dad, towing Peter along, while his mum and Peter’s parents hid themselves in the muggle world. Your parents took your baby girl while you spent most of your days at Hogwarts as a teaching assistant, pretending to know nothing of your brother or the Order.
You weren’t stupid though. James and Lily couldn’t bear you not being the Secret Keeper but they needed another one because of how obvious you were. You chose Peter. Sirius was too obvious, Remus wasn’t the best occlumency, and the girls were in the field too often to take the risk. Peter was unassuming. No one but your friend group noticed him. Death eaters would be the same way.
None of you realized you had underestimated him. Honestly, no one really knows what happened. One minute, you were calling Remus for help as you tried to hold off Voldemort long enough for James and Lily to take Harry and run. The next minute all of them arrived just as you grabbed Harry while James grabbed Lily. You were more skilled in apparating. It was safer if you took Harry and met your brother and sister-in-law at your parents’ house. But you had to get a bit farther before you risked the death eaters being able to hold onto you.
They heard and saw the killing curse fired. They saw you turn to shield your nephew just as the curse hit you in the back. And they saw Harry drop from your arms as you fell into some veil at the same time the curse touched you. What they weren’t sure they saw was Voldemort suddenly disappearing or exploding or vanishing. No one really knew even to this day.
Harry was fine. Maybe he didn’t drop but you set him down? Although, would you have time to when a killing curse was pretty instant? Your body was never recovered. It disappeared through the veil in Godric’s Hollow. The stone archway disappeared a few days later. They buried an empty casket at your funeral.
Remus and Sirius took in your daughter, Lorelei, because the war was still going on even after Voldemort’s disappearance. Once it finally ended a few months later, no one had the heart to take her away from them. James and Lily gladly gave them custody. It wasn’t like Harry wouldn’t see his cousin nearly everyday anyway. They were all content and slowly healing for eleven calm years.
And then Voldemort returned. Something they always anticipated after Regulus informed them of horcruxes but only got one and had yet to figure out how to destroy it. But while they had anticipated it back in the day, they started to forget over the years. And no matter what, they never expected the children to be directly involved. The children shouldn’t have to be involved.
That’s what Remus thought as he stormed through the Department of Mysteries with the rest of the Order. He nearly froze in his place when he saw the veil. Of all places for it to end up, it had to be here right now. He didn’t understand it but magic was a strange thing. And when Sirius began to fall through the smoky white filling the archway, Remus could do nothing but stare as he held his daughter back from following her father and never returning.

Sirius felt the pain of the curse Bellatrix lobbed at him. But as quickly as the blinding pain happened, it went away. It was nice to know death was painless. And he was still conscious so maybe there was an afterlife after all. Sirius wasn’t sure but he couldn’t do anything at the moment. He couldn’t move his body at all. But he was moving somehow. Feeling slowly started to return to Sirius’ body and he realized he was starting to get soaked through with what he hoped was water.
He stared up at the sky, waiting for more feeling to return, as he continued to float down the river. It was a beautiful day. Time must have worked the same in the afterlife because it was daytime when he entered the Department of Mysteries. He heard a gasp. Sirius closed his eyes as two hands struggled to lug him out of the water. His legs were still jelly that he couldn’t even help the figure take him all the way to wherever he was going. Maybe he should have been more concerned but he was already dead so what’s the worst that could happen. He was taken all the way inside a house. Or at least he thought it was a house. Eyes still closed, Sirius let himself be hauled up onto what definitely felt like couch cushions beneath him.
“I haven’t had a guest in so long. I’ll go make some soup.”
His eyes popped open at the sound. He recognized that voice. But that was impossible. The moment he regained feeling, Sirius sat up and practically ran to the kitchen where he heard humming. His hands reached out without thinking, turning you by the shoulders.
“Y/N?”
“Who? I call myself Gardenia.” You pointed out the window. “After the gardenias outside.”
“No. You’re Y/N P— Y/N P… I’m Sirius Bl— Sirius Bl… Why can’t I remember my last name?”
“It happens. You’re lucky I’m here. No one was around for me and when I passed out, I forgot everything except leaving the river. Almost forgot I could do magic until I just found this wand.”
“When I pass out?”
You nodded. “Should be happening soon. Don’t worry, I’ll remember your name.”
“No, wait. You’re Y/N P— that’s not important. You’re Y/N… fuck, last name isn’t important. Okay and you disappeared on Halloween in…”
Your eyes flitted down as the man in front of you passed out just like you said. At least you could remember two things for him. His name was Sirius. Yours was apparently Y/N. You liked that. It sounded nice. Setting a timer, you floated the man back to the couch now that you had your wand on you and returned to the soup. He lasted a while before fainting so he’d probably be out longer than you and most of your guests were.
A second timer went off just as you added the final ingredients to the soup. Your bread was finally finished proofing. Just in time for your new dinner guest. The real question was how long would Sirius be staying. The longest guest you had was a child who stayed with you for a few good years before you helped them get into Ilvermorny for their final two years of schooling.
Something smelling like a warm hug woke Sirius up from his slumber. He slowly sat up, looking around at his unfamiliar surroundings. The very definition of cottage, complete with a fluffy cat in his lap and looking perturbed that he got up. Running a hand through his hair, he took a deep breath.
“This is not what I thought the afterlife would look like.”
A soft laugh caught his attention.
You set down the perfectly crusted bread on a serving plate. “You’re not dead, Sirius.”
“You know my name? I don’t even know my name.”
“You told me before you fainted.”
“What else did I tell you?”
Sirius’ shoulders slumped when you told him that he was only able to mention his name. Groaning, he finally got to his feet. You pointed to a dresser with various sizes and styles of clothing for guests to choose from. Sirius tried his hardest to remember what would suit him but couldn’t for the life of him. He was sure that he didn’t dress like this smarmy aristocrat everyday and must’ve been in the middle of a dinner party when he died. That didn’t give him much style ideas to go off of. In the end, he chose a pair of corduroy trousers, a plain white t-shirt, and a sweater vest.
He looked himself over in the mirror. The look didn’t fit him at all but it brought on an odd sort of comfort. Not wanting to mull it over much longer, he made his way to the dining table that separated the living room and kitchen.
“So, how are you sure I’m not dead?” he asked as he began buttering the slice of bread he cut.
You grabbed your wand and flicked on the radio. Sirius listened intently as the news played. You flicked on the tv in the living room to show a different news program. He still wasn’t convinced but agreed that if the news said tomorrow’s date in the morning then he would believe it. You led him to one of the guest bedrooms, telling him where everything was and that he should treat the place as his own while he’s here.
Sirius went through all the rooms, except yours, picking clothes in each of the wardrobes and drawers that he thought would be nice for him. He returned to see a nice basket with new underwear and toiletries. They were generic so all guests could use them but Sirius appreciated the gesture nonetheless. You gently called his name. Turning, he saw you leaning against the doorway.
“I have to go to the farmers market tomorrow, you’re welcome to tag along if you want.”
He snorted. “There are farmers markets in the afterlife? Sure.”
“Not the afterlife.”
“I’ll believe it when I hear it.”
“Goodnight, Sirius.”

It might have been petty but, when morning came, you turned the radio to its loudest volume. Humming to yourself, you began to pack up for the market. This wasn’t always your home after washing up the river. The river outside wasn’t even the same one. You had washed up some river in France. Unfortunately, the person that found you and had a similar set up as yours was out of town when you passed through the veil. If you had washed up two days later then maybe you would have had a chance to tell someone your name or any information. It was too late though.
By the time Delacoeur found you passed out in her lavender bushes, you could only remember that you were a witch. It could have been worse. Delacoeur was an amazing mentor. She had been through the veil herself about twenty years ago. The old woman wasn’t the first to own what she loving called the hotel for forgetful and lost souls. By the time you were well enough to rest, you had renamed yourself several times, remembered you were British, and found yourself staying in a nice wizarding village just outside of Liverpool.
Sirius stumbled out of bed, making his way into the kitchen. He quirked an eyebrow at your fluttering about. You motioned to the radio and he just sighed.
“Fine, I’m not dead.”
“Glad we’ve established that. Do you want to come to market with me?”
“I thought you’d be buying,” he said as he began packing up the rest of your stuff.
“I make money this way.”
“Enough to afford all of this?”
You nodded. “People love fresh produce and baked goods. Muggles, especially. They can’t get enough. Finish washing up, while I load these into the cart. Oh and if you need a refresher, I have loads of spell books on that shelf over there. Not everyone remembers everything they learned.”
Sirius hadn’t really thought about magic. He grabbed a couple books and some inconspicuous dust jackets to put over them when he came back downstairs. You were already outside, loading up the last of the goods. It took everything in him not to laugh. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting but it certainly wasn’t a stand on wheels attached to the back of a multi person bicycle.
“Usually it’s just me but the extra manpower is so helpful that I bought this bike awhile ago so I wouldn’t have to keep switching them in and out. You ready?”
The ride to the market was peaceful, if not a bit silly to Sirius. But he enjoyed it somehow. You finally reached your destination well before any customers arrived. Sirius sat awkwardly on the stool you gave him while you set up. You were mingling with the other vendors, dancing to the music someone set up, and making sure your stand was perfect. It was pretty clear that you had some sort of well-established life. Hopefully, he could get to that point as well.
“How many people have stayed with you before?” Sirius asked suddenly, watching you out of the corner of his eye as you handed a customer a box of croissants.
“Hmm, depends on how you count it.”
“Depends?”
“There’s this old woman in France who has done this for years. She and her family have a hotel for people like us. Usually after I’ve made sure anyone I find is okay, I’ll give them her address.”
“Well then, how many guests stay after they’ve been wellness-checked?”
“Sixty.”
“Sixty?” he nearly choked on his water.
“I’ve been here for about fifteen years, you know. That’s only four guests a year.”
Sirius nodded in satisfaction at that answer. It really wasn’t that many once you broke down the math. He asked many other questions throughout the day. If you were annoyed by any of them, you didn’t let it show. Everything was answered to the best of your ability and with a smile. The questions didn’t stop as you two packed up and cycled home.
“I noticed a picture in the hallway. Do young kids come through the veil pretty often?”
You shook your head. “I’ve only had a handful of them. Those break my heart the most, they’re always so scared at first. Everyone else chooses to live their new life. But Delacoeur and I try to help the kids get back if we can.”
“Were you successful with the boy in the hallway?”
“Sort of. Malcolm freaked out too much to even give me his name before fainting. We figured out that he was on vacation when he came through the veil which was why he ended up so far away from America. He was only twelve.”
Sirius took the cash register inside for you. “Only twelve? That’s awful.”
“It was the worst. He knew he was scheduled to go to Ilvermorny. Apparently he was homeschooled for first year. But because we didn’t know his real name and he hadn’t taken his pictures for school yet, we were stuck again. Malcolm decided to just go when he turned fourteen. He was a good kid, helped me at the market for extra money. He still writes every now and then. I went to his graduation two years ago. He has an internship at the MACUSA and is trying to find his parents.”
You felt your shoulder grabbed before you could step further into the kitchen. Despite the protesting, Sirius made you sit at the table. You worked hard cooking for the market and then selling all those goods. The least he could do was make lunch. Hopefully. Blushing, he admitted that he couldn’t remember if he was a good cook.
“Cookbooks are over there.”
Sirius reached up to the floating shelf and grabbed a book with a bowl of French onion soup on the cover. He flipped through the pages with scrutiny, finally stopping at a recipe for fondant potatoes.
“Does fondant potatoes and, er… soupe au pistou sound good?”
You nodded, summoning a bottle of wine and two glasses. “Sounds perfect. If we’re going to have a French night we need good wine and music.”
Sirius laughed as he opened the door of the pantry and started bringing out the necessary ingredients. Even though he didn’t really remember most of his life, conversation and stories still flowed easily between the two of you. You would mention something you sort of remembered from your past life and he would have a somewhat similar story he would tell. Neither one of you was able to come up with a complete tale or a story with full details but you two were having a good time nonetheless. It was like you were old friends.
“We probably knew each other at school. Where did you attend? I can’t remember where I went.”
“I never figured it out,” you said, shrugging. “Maybe Hogwarts but I washed up in France so maybe Beauxbatons or one of their smaller schools. I showed up with only three galleons in my pocket so the amount of schools I could’ve attended in this area could have been all of them. Wasn’t worth it to check after the first three schools turned up with no results.”
“If I remember then we can see if we were classmates.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
You changed the radio to a station that you knew played French music to really set the tone. As Sirius put the final cut of vegetables in the soup, you summoned a chess set and a miniatures build you started working on the morning Sirius had arrived. One of the kids showed you some sets when you were staying at the hotel and it became a pretty fun hobby. You had gotten really good at them but the simple kits were often more enjoyable.
Under your breath, you began to sing along with the radio as you spread out the pieces for a miniature wand shop. Whenever you had too many miniatures, you’d sell them at market or give them away for free at the end of the day. You looked up when Sirius began singing as well. It seemed like he finally registered what he was doing just as he took the potatoes out of the oven.
“I speak French? Merlin’s Beard, I know French.” A large smirk spread over his face as he turned to look at you. “Tu sais la français est une langue de la romance.”
You snorted. “I hate to break it to you but I spent a good year and half in France. And while your flirting skills are impeccable, men in sweater vests aren’t my type. Especially when they’re drowning in it.”
“Hey! Don’t diss the sweater vest. I feel oddly attached to it.”
You took a bite of potatoes. “Keep cooking like this and I’ll never diss the sweater vest again.”
“Deal.”
Sirius sat down at the table, cracking his knuckles before finally pulling out his wand. A simple levitation spell was a good place to start. He beamed as the wine bottle lifted with no problem and poured into his glass. You lowered the radio a little, moving the chess set to the center of the table as Sirius placed the dishes on the side. The afternoon was peaceful as you two ate lunch, played chess, and toasted to this new or maybe old friendship.

You stepped out of the dressing room following just behind Willow. “Give me just a second. I am going to throw my clothes in my office.” You said just loud enough for her to hear. You took the stairs in twos making sure you had the door closed all the way once you reached the top. You quickly walked to your office and threw the clothes in the corner behind your door. You stopped to pet all three of the giants and made your way back down. As you stepped into the hall you could see some sitting down on the couch and some standing and speaking through the glass door. Your team seemed to be speaking to Ji-Yu as she was the only woman present. They are all dressed nicely. You stopped and took a big breath in and out.
You stepped through the door and all heads turned to you. You were the last to join the party. You smiled and bowed to all of them. “Hello, I am Y/N.” As you were straightening up you could see each of the boys eyes locked on you. Well fuck if that didnt make you nervous you don't know what would. You looked over all of them, they were the most spectacular looking men you had ever seen, on video and in person. Your eyes caught on Seonghwa your bias, he was smiling kindly at you and he bowed his head slightly.
When she walked into the room my breath caught. She is gorgeous. Her curves are in all of the right places. Her e/c eyes sparkled behind the round black framed glasses that suited her face perfectly. Her light makeup accentuated her face very well. There were tattoos peeking out from under her sleeves and near her left collarbone were paws. I wonder where else she has tattoos. She is simply magnificent.
Hongjoong stepped up to you and bowed slightly, reaching both of his hands out to you for you to shake. Having lived in Korea for almost a decade you returned the gesture smoothly. “Hello Y/N I am Hongjoong and this,” he motioned behind him, “is Ateez.”
You bowed and waved shyly at the group before you, it was very difficult to not embarrass yourself. You had been a follower of their music for years. “It is wonderful to meet you in person. If you would like, we can step into our conference room and get started.” you said motioning to the viewing room door. You had attempted and barely succeeded in keeping your voice level.
“Before we do, I heard one of your teammates mention that you took the pictures hanging on the wall. They are amazing! I cannot wait to see more of your work.” you turned in a half circle to see who was speaking, it was San. Leave it to the resident cat owner to notice and love the cat pictures.
“Actually that isn't even half of it” you began, “those are my cats actually.” You said with a smile. His eyes widened and you could hear Wooyoung snicker at the comical look on his face. San beamed at you. You wouldn't mind being at the receiving end of that smile any day.
“Alright cat lovers, let's head into the conference room” Hongjoong said with a wink to you. All thirteen of you walked into the room, Forrest holding the door open for everyone. Aurora was the first one in and you heard her offer drinks or snacks to all of the boys and Ji-Yu. Looking at her and having known her for several years you could tell that she was a ball of nerves. She clasped her hands as she sat down toward the head of the table with you. Ji-Yu took the head of the table and you took the seat to her, leaving your team sitting next to you and Hongjoong directly in front of you. With the rest of the boys wrapping around the table.
After you guys had finished all of the official talk you offered to show them around. Ji-Yu had declined and went back to KQ to get the process started on her end. You stepped into the studio from the door in the conference room and showed them the white curtains and the hanging lights.
“This is where we make our magic, all of the curtains in here are automatic and can be drawn with the push of a button. The lights are programmable by the small computer that is in the corner. The door in the back is to our enclosed patio, which we hope to use in the future for hosting get-togethers after successful projects.” You spoke gesturing to all of the things you mentioned. You heard a rolling chirp like one of the cats was beckoning you to them. You looked up to see all three of the giants looking down at you from the balcony in curiosity. Everyone’s eyes drifted upward and someone let out a squeal at them.
San turned to you and started firing off rapid questions, “can we meet them? What are their names? Are they friendly?” You snickered at his enthusiasm. The rest of the people in the room, who weren't on your team, looked surprised that they were even here.
“Yes, you are more than welcome to meet them. They are gentle giants. I will show you the dressing rooms in the hall and then I will open the door for them to come downstairs. The all white one is Mocha, the one in the middle that is black and gold is Beans, and the one that is all black on the far right is Toothless.” you said motioning to each of them, you were almost interrupted by a small gasp. You turned to look at who you knew would have a reaction to that name, Seonghwa. You knew he would love the name. Never in a million years would you have thought that your bias would be meeting your cat named after one of yours and his favorite movies. What are the odds? He smiled big at you, he seemed happy to find someone who knew and loved the How to Train Your Dragon movies.
“Let's continue then, I am absolutely positive that someone is very eager to meet them” Hongjoong said with a smile at San. You looked at the others and noticed that Wooyoung was still looking at all of them. He was definitely sizing up Toothless for a competition to see who was the best black cat you thought with a snicker. You walked over to the other glass door and opened it politely for them. They all filed into the hallway, “we have two dressing rooms just in case we have different gendered models or clients. There is also a bathroom in each corner of the room.” Forrest opened one door while Willow opened the other.
“The dressing rooms are the exact same, just mirrored.” You said to them as they split and explored the rooms. “Now, the moment I know at least one of you is waiting for. If you will give me just a second I will go and open the door for the giants. If you would like, you are welcome to have a seat on the floor in the studio or on the couches in the front room. They are very lovey and absolutely will get in your lap. So be warned,” you said with a chuckle while heading up the stairs. You pushed open the door and clicked at them a couple of times to summon them to you. You propped open the door to keep it open while you walked down the stairs the two girls following and Toothless rushing past you to the voices. You followed Toothless to the studio where the boys had taken a seat on the floor. As you walked in with the giants the boys all exclaimed at how big they were, apparently they had never seen a Maine Coon.
“Yah, why are they so big?! I've never seen a cat this big!” Wooyoung chirped in surprise from the left of the group. Toothless sauntered over to San who had his hand out.
“They are called Maine Coons, they are one of the largest breeds of domesticated cats. They are known to be temperamentally very similar to dogs and they actually don't mind the water.” You said sitting down on the floor while watching as Mingi and Yuhno both started petting Beans who had meandered slowly over to them. You looked over to Seonghwa who squeaked in surprise as Toothless got into his lap. He looked at you in surprise, you nodded that it was normal and he looked back down to Toothless and started petting him. San was still petting him and you watched Hongjoong hold his hand out for Toothless to sniff. Toothless bunted Hongjoong and Hongjoong let out a small giggle and started petting him. You looked to the left and saw that Mocha had approached Jongho, Yeosang, and Wooyoung. She was always drawn to quiet people which is only two out of the three of the people she just approached.
“Look at her eyes! They’re so pretty!” Yeosang commented. You smiled at the interaction, she immediately went up to him and got into his lap and made herself comfortable.
You laughed at her, “she always knows who compliments her. She is the resident princess of the three of them. Much like Mingi over there, she will either be a stubborn hardass to get through too or will absolutely be one of the most excitable cats you will meet. This is tame for her.” They looked at you with surprise. Oh Fuck, you had carefully hidden the fact that you knew them until just now. You hid your face in your hands and sighed to yourself.
“Are you an Atiny?” Jongho asked with curiosity. You peaked through your fingers to see if the rest of them were hearing the conversation. You saw that all of their eyes are on you. Fuck, again with this making me nervous. You relented and nodded your head, taking your hands away from your face. “I have been for a few years. You guys are one of my favorite groups.” You said softly.
Wooyoung ever the instigator asked, “who is your bias?” You let out a nervous chuckle. All of them leaned toward you after he asked. You turned to look at your team to find that they had disappeared presumably back to their offices. Shitheads.
“Come on, tell us!” Mingi practically whined from across the semicircle.
You sighed, knowing these men they would not give up. “I will tell you on one condition.”
“Name it,” Hongjoong said quickly with a smirk in your direction. Damn him for being persistent.
“It does not change anything between us, not whatsoever, I don't want my liking your group to mess up this contract and our possible friendship.” you said wringing your hands together in your lap. Toothless had gotten off of Seonghwa’s lap and made his way over to you, head butting your hands. You smiled and started to pet him.
“Deal,” they all said in unison. You looked up at all of them, they were looking at you with respect. All of their dark eyes held such depth to them. You could get lost in every set of them.
“It is the person who has a favorite movie that one of the giants is named after.”
Everyone looked momentarily confused before Seonghwa gasped, he quickly caught on and started to celebrate that it wasn't anyone else. You looked at him nervously and he smiled genuinely at you. You gave him a small smile back and hid your face in Toothless’ fur. They all started speaking gibberish trying to come up with the reason that it wasn't them. You laughed quietly. This is not how you thought this meeting would go.
“Yahhh why isn't it me?” San complained with a pout and then a smile. “I am clearly the cat person here”
“Yah it could be me too. I am literally the black cat of our group” Wooyoung said loudly.
“I already have my black cat, he's right here,” you sniped back at Wooyoung grabbing Toothless to bring him into your lap from his sitting position. Wooyoung let out an over exaggerated noise of protest. All of the boys started laughing at Wooyoung’s expense.
You looked up to check on the other two giants, Beans had made her way to Hongjoong from Mingi and Yuhno. He held his hand out to her just like he did with Toothless and she head butted him. He smiled and started petting her too. Mocha had had enough of how loud Wooyoung was and decided to go over to Jongho to get a little farther away from him. Jongho let out a noise of surprise when she rubbed on him. It seemed like he was not sure how to take her affection. Once she was done she walked over to Mingi and Yuhno. You looked over to Yeosang who pouted when she left. You chuckled at the pout, “Yeosang, you can come over here and pet Toothless since she left. He is a big cuddlebug.” He looked over at you with a small blush and nodded while he got up. Wooyoung and San also decided to get up and come over to pet Toothless. You set him down on the floor again in the middle of the four of you. Yeosang was the first one to reach out to him.
“Wow, so soft.” He murmured. You couldn't help but to let out a giggle at his words.
“He is alright I guess. Now I have competition for the best black cat energy.” Wooyoung said as he scratched Toothless’ head. San let out a chuckle.
“Only you would be in a battle with a literal black cat for black cat energy.” Wooyoung swiped at him and they started squabbling. Yeosang leaned over away from the two and said, “Toothless is better.”
You let out a loud laugh and said, “Agreed.”
Beans had made her presence known by climbing over the top of the two men that had laid out on the floor after their squabble. They both groaned under her weight and you hear Yuhno and Mingi let out little huffs of laughter at her antics. Somewhere in the middle of all of the chaos Mocha had made her way onto Hongjoong’s lap and was now fast asleep. He was slowly petting her and speaking in hushed tones with Seonghwa. Beans decided that she was interested in Jongho and made her way over to him. He looked at her with surprise and hesitantly held his hand out to her. She chirped at him and trotted the rest of the way over immediately head butting his hand. He smiled with his gummy smile and started petting her.
You smiled at all of them. You could get used to having these boys around. They fit in well with your dynamic, and were very similar to your team. You could tell that they were already comfortable here, especially after the giants cuddled with them. The giants always seem to bring peace to a room. In fact Beans had made her way back over to the two laying on the floor and laid herself on top of San. He grunted, not expecting her to get on top of him and loaf up. You could hear her purrs from where you sat by his feet shoulder to shoulder with Yeosang. He had leaned toward Toothless to continue petting him, which put him closer to you. Damned bias wrecker you thought. Seonghwa had gotten up from his place next to Hongjoong and came to sit next to you on your other side. He was letting Toothless sniff him before he started petting him.
“So I'm your bias huh?” He asked with a quiet teasing tone bumping his shoulder with yours. You nodded silently and kept your eyes on Toothless in the middle of the three of you.
“Do you have a bias wrecker so I know who to look out for?” He asked, you could hear a smirk in his tone. You quickly looked at him and he lightly laughed at the shock on your face.
“I do have one, he is very close in proximity to me right now actually.” Fuck, why did I say that, you thought. The filter from your mouth to your brain is missing today apparently. You sneaked a look at Yeosang and he was already looking at you. He had surprise written all over his face, and then raised his hand to gesture at himself. You nodded and his eyes widened, he looked away from you quickly but you were perceptive enough that you caught the blush on his face that was quickly spreading to his ears. Seonghwa laughed at the entire interaction.
A few minutes later Hongjoong had asked to trade numbers before he left to coordinate things. Somehow your phone ended up being passed around the group so they could all add their numbers. San had been the last one done, insisting that you send him all of your cat pictures as he handed you your phone back. Not too shortly after the boys had left with smiles on their faces promising to see you soon.
As you were preparing the giants to leave you heard several pings from your phone. You walked across your office and looked at the new group chat tha popped up with several messages. All of them were expressing how excited they were about getting to see you tomorrow to show you around KQ. You chuckled at the names they had given themselves. Cat Dad, The Better Black Cat, Bias, Bias Wrecker, Princess Minki, Yuyu, The Best Singer, and Captain.
You were in so much trouble with these men. So much fucking trouble.

The Time Remus Lupin Got Drunk.
A Wolfstar Oneshot.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
The Marauders were going to a party. Usually the way things go down is quite simple:
Sirius gets drunk first, the lightweight of the group who always drinks too much too fast and literally will not shut up for the rest of the night.
Next is Peter, who doesn't drink nearly as much as Sirius, but isn't very good at holding his liquor if we're being honest. He'll spend most of the party on the floor playing chess or in the bathroom throwing up. No in between.
James stumbles after him in third place, definitely not a lightweight but somehow always slamming down enough shots of firewhiskey to do the job. He spends a good percentage of his time trying to get Lily Evans' attention.
(Somehow even drunk he's still a perfect gentlemen and knows his boundaries. *cough, cough* it's not that hard *cough, cough*)
Remus has never gotten drunk in his life, except for once at the beginning of seventh year, but we don't talk about that.
He will spend the majority of the party babysitting his friends: bringing Peter water and crackers, telling Sirius that no, it's not a good idea to visit McGonagall right now, and asking James to please find his shirt, she's not any more impressed by his abs now than she was six years ago.
Today, however, was going to be different.
You see, the Marauders had a plan, a plan like none they'd ever come up with before.
Today: Sirius, Peter, and James were not going to get drunk.
Remus was.
Most of the reason Remus never got drunk in the past was simply because it was a hard feat to accomplish. Partly because Remus had a pretty high tolerance for alcohol, and partly because of the whole werewolf thing.
He would have to drink a lot of firewhiskey to get to the point of slurring his speech.
And the second reason was Remus' refusal of being unaware of his surroundings in public. He felt too vulnerable, it didn't feel safe.
He made a joke on the way to the party they were going to tonight that he would only agree to get drunk if the others agreed to stay sober.
Obviously he hadn't been expecting them to actually agree.
But for whatever reason, his friends were far too eager to see him drunk.
So in they went, mixing into the crowd awkwardly, with Remus huddled between them all like a very tall child.
"Here." James filled a red cup with firewhiskey and passed it to him, "We should get started early, this will probably take a while."
Remus let out a resigned breath and accepted the cup from him, downing the liquid in one go. He cringed at the taste,
"I don't know why people insist on doing this. I don't see how this is pleasant at all."
Sirius shrugged, "It's fun? Takes your mind off things for a little while."
"Obviously not the case for somebody." Peter snickered, nodding his head towards James, "All he can ever think about is Evans, drunk or not."
"Hey!" James called, picking up a cup and pretending to toss it at him. Peter squeaked and jerked out of the way.
Remus snagged the cup away from him, "And you expect me to trust you lot to take care of me?"
James rolled his eyes, "Obviously we'll take this seriously, Moony."
Sirius nodded, "Especially me." He agreed solemnly. James scowled at him and turned back to Remus with an earnest expression,
"If you don't want to, we really won't force you, Moons. I know you don't like feeling vulnerable. Everything is your decision here."
Remus sighed, "It's alright, one night won't kill anyone... hopefully."
And you know... the whole werewolf thing.
If he was being honest, of course he trusted them to take care of him. They'd been doing it every month since third year.
The only issue was his filter, or rather, his lack of one.
After his second cup Sirius grabbed his free hand and dragged him over to the center of the room, "Drunk enough to dance yet?" He asked, raising his voice over the music.
"There isn't enough alcohol in the world." Remus called back.
"You don't know that. Drink up." James cheered, a cup held out to Remus.
Merlin he was going to be drinking a lot of alcohol tonight.
He turned back to face Sirius,
"So this really doesn't bother you? All the noise and the people?" He asked. Sirius shook his head,
"Not normally. I always have you guys with me, and sometimes it helps being surrounded by all this. I'd rather be too busy to think than sitting alone in silence, y'know?"
Remus nodded, he knew Sirius hated silence more than anything.
James switched out his cup again, "Alright, Moons, another round down."
"What is this, four in five minutes? You trying to kill me, Prongs?" Remus muttered, drinking it anyways.
"Mate... That's fucking terrifying." Sirius replied.
James laughed, "I have much subtler ways of doing that, Moony, don't you worry."
"Is this gonna be a long night or what?" Peter said. They all nodded in agreement.
"Hey, why don't we speed this up a little?" James asked, tapping the wand in his pocket. Remus' eyes shot wide open,
"No. Absolutely not. Do you remember what happened to Sirius last time you used that spell?"
James waved a hand, "Oh, that was nothing. He's always like that."
"He bawled his eyes out and tried to kiss a suit of armor." Peter raised an eyebrow, "Even drunk he's got a bit more dignity than that."
"Yeah but he's also like horrible at drinking. Maybe it'll work better with Moony since he's got a better tolerance."
"Hey!" Sirius pouted, "I can drink just fine, thank you."
James snorted, "Whatever you say, mate."
Remus ignored them,
"I don't know, Prongs. I'm not really sure. It's a little... experimental, don't you think?"
"What about us isn't experimental?" James countered, "You know how many charms laws we broke making that fucking map?"
Peter shook his head, "No, c'mon man. Don't make Moony your test dummy. It's his second time drinking. We'll try it out some other time."
James shrugged and waited for him to drink before giving him a new one, "Your loss. Now you're stuck filling your cup all night."
Remus downed it again, looking bored, "You know what, you're right. I'll be over at the drink table. I should probably stick closer to the source, yeah? Let me know if you need anything." He told them, walking awkwardly through the crowd.
"Hey Alice." Remus smiled, when he finally reached the table, resigned to drink until he began to feel the 'buzz' the others kept referring to, "How's everything going?"
"Not bad, you?"
He shrugged, filling his cup, "I suppose I could be worse."
"Are you... drinking?" She asked incredulously, "I've never seen you drink before."
He sighed, "Yeah, and you probably won't ever see it again."
"Someone feeling a little dangerous today?" She teased. He tipped back his cup, wrinkling his nose at the heat that settled uncomfortably in his chest,
"Hopefully not."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the people around them.
"Where's Lily? Did she come?" He asked, Alice nodded,
"I don't actually know where she and Regulus went, but I know I saw them earlier."
"Wait, Regulus and Lily?" He questioned, "I didn't know they hung out."
She gave him a vague shrug,
"Yeah, none of us really know him that well, just you guys and Sirius. But he and Lily have this thing where they always sit next to each other at parties, they try to keep each other in check. Nerd stuff, I guess."
"Huh..." Remus took one last drink before standing up from his seat, "I've gotta go, thanks for the chat."
She nodded, "Yeah, see you around."
While Remus was busy being a wallflower, James and Sirius made their way to the other side of the room. Sirius grabbed Regulus' attention and waved him over,
"Hey, Reg. Bigger turn out than usual, right?" He asked. Regulus nodded,
"Yeah, there's hardly anywhere to sit anymore." He looked around for a second, "Your friend throw up yet?"
Sirius laughed, "No, Pete's fine. We're actually staying sober today."
Regulus rose an eyebrow at them both, "I find that very hard to believe."
"Hey, Regulus." James smiled.
"Potter." He nodded curtly.
James pouted, "Don't I get a warmer greeting? We've known each other for years now."
"Maybe you will in a few more years." He replied smoothly, taking another leisurely sip, "How's the courting coming along? Sing any songs to her yet?"
James looked confused, "Who?"
"You know, the love of your life."
His face went a deep shade of red, "What?"
"Evans?" Regulus was amused now, "Salazar, Potter. Seriously, how much have you had?"
"None." Sirius frowned, turning to face him, "What's up with you, mate?"
James only shook his head, "I've gotta go."
The pair watched him dissappear quickly into the crowd.
"The hell was that about?" Regulus asked.
"I've got no clue." Sirius rubbed his forehead, "But it's definitely weird."
"Pete." Remus sighed when he found him, tapping his arm to get his attention, "Come here, I have to ask you about something."
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
Remus was weaving his way through people again, trying to keep his drink from spilling as he was bumped around.
They walked to the far corner of the common room. Peter looked concerned,
"Are you alright?"
"It's about Prongs." He started, keeping his voice low so the music would drown them out.
"Prongs?" He repeated, "What's wrong, is everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, he's fine. It's just-" He glanced around to make sure nobody was listening, "Do you ever think he acts a bit... strange at parties?"
Peter snorted, "You mean when he's drunk? Yeah, I'd say he's a little different than normal."
"No, I mean like- we've seen him drunk before, right? He isn't usually so over the top when it's just the four of us."
Peter nodded slowly, "Right."
"But when he's here, he gets all weird."
"Well yeah, because he's trying to impress Evans."
"But isn't it strange that he stopped hitting on her around the castle years ago but still hits on her when he's at parties?"
"Alcohol destroys your filter, man. Maybe he's just really good at pretending to not care."
"Or it's something else."
Peter watched him for a moment, a sudden suspicion in his eyes, "Are you drunk?"
"What? No, Peter, listen-"
"Hey, what's all the whispering about?" Sirius asked, walking up with James and Regulus on either side of him. James' face was red.
"I think Moons is getting a little tipsy." Peter laughed. Remus rolled his eyes,
"Shut up, Wormtail."
"Seems perfectly normal to me." Regulus joked, "Sarcastic as always."
"Remus isn't sarcastic when he's drunk." Sirius offered, "When I saw him he was-"
Remus shot him a look and Sirius stopped talking immediately.
"You never did tell us what happened." Peter said, glancing between them.
"And we won't." Remus cut in before Sirius had the chance, "That's between Lily, Sirius, and I."
"Wait Evans was there too? I thought it was just you and Padfoot when you got drunk?" James asked. Sirius' eyes widened,
"Maybe it's best if we drop the subject, yeah?" He gave Remus a pointed look.
"Why won't you say what happened?" Regulus asked, curious himself now as he looked to his brother.
Remus swallowed hard, clearly uncomfortable. Sirius cleared his throat,
"Finish your drink, I want to dance."
"So commanding." Remus grumbled, even as he lifted it to his lips without hesitation.
Sirius stepped up close and placed a finger underneath the cup, meeting Remus' eyes as he tipped it back.
Remus was... well let's just say he was a little more awake now than he was a moment ago, his entire body humming with electricity at the look in Sirius' eyes.
He finished the drink, throwing the cup onto the floor,
"Fine." He took Sirius' arm and dragged him back into the crowd of people.
"What the fuck just happened?" Peter laughed. James shrugged,
"It's them, when do we ever know what's going on?"
Sirius stopped when they reached the center. Remus rose an eyebrow,
"So...?" He started.
"Yeah." Sirius laughed softly. He wrapped his arms around Remus' neck, like you would if you were slow dancing. The song was the exact opposite tempo, but neither of them really cared enough to notice.
"I'm not upset about what happened that night." Remus told him as his hands wound around Sirius' waist, "I know I made a big thing about it, but I don't blame you."
Sirius' head was shaking before Remus even finished his sentence, "It was your first time drinking, Moons. I should have been more aware of what was going on."
"I told you I'm not upset." Remus protested.
"I know, I just don't believe you."
"Would you like me to get Lily? She'll be glad to tell you every thought I shared with her about it."
Sirius cringed, "Merlin, no thanks. I'd honestly rather die than rehash that with Evans again."
"It wasn't that terrible."
"Says you! You didn't do what I did!" He laughed.
"Well nobody forced you to do what you did either!"
"It was kind of implied." Sirius gave him a sly smile.
Remus scoffed, "Okay, first of all-"
"No, no, no! You cannot deny that. You would never have done it." He cut him off.
Remus sighed, "Fine... Maybe you're right."
"Maybe?" He raised an eyebrow. Remus laughed,
"Okay, you're absolutely right. I would never have done that. You have my gratitude for taking one for the team."
Suddenly he was smiling again, "It wasn't that terrible." He mimicked.
"You want me to tell her you said that?" Remus asked, pretending to pull away to go find her.
"Don't you dare!" Sirius laughed as he jerked him back into the embrace, making them press fully against each other on accident.
"Oh." Remus whispered. Sirius took in a sharp breath,
"Oh." He repeated.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
Over by the drinks table James, Peter, and Regulus were still talking.
Peter was stuck between watching Sirius and Remus, and watching Regulus and James.
He couldn't deny it now, James was weird at parties. Even though he wasn't drunk like he normally was, Peter could still hear that tone in his voice, see the look in his eyes that meant he was totally and completely whipped.
Only... Lily Evans wasn't anywhere around.
He glanced back at Remus and Sirius to find something had shifted dramatically in the few seconds he'd looked away.
They stood, holding each other tightly, staring into each other's eyes. Peter could feel the tension from across the room. He felt his own eyes widen quickly looked away to give them privacy, accidentally staring at Lily Evans instead.
"Hey, I'll be right back." He told James and Regulus, who were currently in a heated argument about the best quidditch play from the world cup this year.
Neither of them replied so he just walked away, coming up to sit down beside her.
"Hey, Wormy." She smiled. He smiled back,
"Hey, Evans. This is a great party."
She chuckled, "Yeah, it's interesting to see you actually a part of it."
"Hey, my chess games were top notch." He laughed. She bumped their shoulders together,
"And so were your bathroom hogging skills."
"Touché."
She glanced towards Sirius and Remus,
"Do you see them?" She asked quietly.
"Yeah, I was watching them earlier. It's a good thing, right?"
"Yeah. They deserve to be happy."
"You think they'll make each other happy?" He asked, a little hopeful.
She nodded, her voice was certain, "I do."
"What ever happened between the three of you? Remus refuses to tell anyone, all we know is that it was the only time he ever got drunk."
She snorted, "Merlin, that is really not my story to tell." She smiled at him, "But I can assure you that I know they'll make each other happy."
"You had sex with one of them, didn't you?" He asked. He could see it in the blush that formed on her cheeks.
She looked away but didn't deny it.
"Well, shit. That's one hell of a first drunken experience." Peter muttered.
"I think it was a lot more than just one first experience." She nodded towards the pair again, "If you know what I mean."
"No way." He gasped, "Did they..."
She held her hands up, "I don't know anything, alright? According to this conversation I was too drunk to remember that night."
Peter blew out a long breath, "Noted."
Lily sipped on her drink leisurely, just like Regulus always does. This reminded him of something he noticed earlier,
"So, do you and Regulus know each other well? I saw you guys together when we first got here."
"Oh, kind of. We only hang out at parties. We're like each other's safety net in a way, we make sure nothing goes wrong and that neither of us gets too messed up."
"I don't know, a few years ago probably. It's been a while." She shrugged.
"When did that start?" He tried to make the question casual. Something about the way she said it reminded him of what Remus had said earlier. 'Or maybe it's something else'.
"So you guys always sit next to each other?"
"Mhmm." She glanced around, a slight frown on her lips, "Except today apparently. He went of with Sirius and he hasn't come back yet."
Peter nodded, letting it finally sink in.
Everything James did when he was drunk was always in her direction, the singing, the confessions, the love-sick puppy dog eyes.
But it wasn't ever at her, was it?
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
"Can I ask you something?" He spoke quietly. Regulus eyed his hand but didn't shake him off,
The others had gone off to their separate conversations, leaving James and Regulus alone. James hadn't even noticed Peter leave.
Regulus had ended up winning their quidditch argument, pulling out a trump card James hadn't thought to bring up. He was impressed, his smile wide and genuine. He liked that Regulus wasn't just as passionate as he was.
They stayed quiet for a little bit, Regulus sipped on his drink and James tried to look at anything else, not wanting to get caught staring.
Eventually he couldn't take it anymore.
James turned completely to face Regulus, touching his shoulder to get his attention,
"Shoot."
"Everyone always tells me that my... 'courting' is over the top when I'm drunk. Is it really that bad?"
Regulus' lips twitched up in a smile, "It's not terrible. Some people find it endearing."
There was something different in James' expression when he asked, "Would you happen to be one of those people?"
Regulus watched him for another long moment before he answered, "I guess you could say that."
James nodded and looked away. He never moved his hand, Regulus didn't either.
"Do I ever say a name?" He cleared his throat, "Like when I'm... I don't know, people say I confess things. Do I ever say who I'm talking to?"
Regulus thought back to everything he remembered about Potter's attempts at flirting,
"I'm not sure... No, I don't think so. You did get the color of her eyes wrong one time, Lily laughed about it for like a week. It's hard to forget that they're green. But then again, you were really drunk so nobody blames you."
"What color did I say?" James asked quietly. Regulus looked at him then, the intensity in James' voice throwing him for a loop,
"You said gray."
There was a long pause before James looked up at him too. His eyes searching Regulus' own, like he was memorizing them.
"I meant it."
Regulus was confused for a moment, then he realised that was his eye color. James must have been talking about his eyes.
He froze, but then...
Oh.
Oh.
"Potter?" Regulus suddenly couldn't remember how to speak. James swallowed hard,
"Yeah?"
"It was... Lily you were speaking to all those times... right?"
James shook his head slowly.
"Who was it?" Regulus' question was a whisper.
James finally moved his hand, though instead of dropping it, he lifted it up to hover over Regulus' cheek,
"Do you really need me to answer that?"
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
"Sirius, I-" Remus looked away, his head spinning slightly, "I think I might be a little drunk."
Sirius' fingers dug into his shoulders, "How drunk?" He murmured. Remus' eyes held something deeper in them when he replied,
"Not so much that I don't know what I want."
"What do you want, Moons?"
The question was never answered.
It took them mere seconds to make it to the stairs leading up to their dorm.
They shut the door behind them, laughing and clutching onto each other as they caught their breath.
"Can I admit something to you?" Remus whispered, his eyes bright with excitement, "I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since that night."
Sirius nodded, "I know how you feel."
"I- I want you, Sirius." Remus turned to face him, holding his hands between his own, "More than that, I... I want to be with you."
"With me?" Sirius questioned. He refused to get his hopes up.
"I think I'm in love with you." Sirius blurted out. He wasn't exactly sure why. He wasn't even drunk. Remus didn't seem to mind, his small smile turned brilliant,
"With you." Remus repeated, "I want everything, Pads, I- I want a life with you. I always have."
And if Sirius had any ounce of self control, the dazed look in Remus' eyes and his small giddy smile was enough to shred it to pieces.
"I think I'm in love with you too." He whispered.
And those were the last words either of them spoke for the rest of the night.
Remus Lupin would always remember the only two times he'd ever gotten drunk. But not for the reasons you would expect.

☾ Padfoot vs Prongs ☾
Tumblr media
— ☾
Summary: A pregnancy in 7th year isn't exactly ideal...neither is your best friend and brothers annoying antics.
Warnings: pregnancy, fluff
Author's Note: just a shorty drabble i had sitting in my drafts. ill be posting requests soon!
— ☾
“Whisky!” James shouted, barreling into the room with Sirius a close foot behind. You rolled your eyes at the nickname, looking up from the book that had been occupying you for the past half hour. Ever since the boys had discovered your animagus was a cat, your brother James had deemed you the nickname Whiskers. Ironic that Fire Whisky had also been your favorite and dearly missed drink since the start of your pregnancy.
“Can I help you bozos?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at the two boys who had wide smiles adorning their faces.
“Who has better hair, me or Padfoot.” James asked, causing you to roll your eyes.
“I’m not doing this you guys.” You replied quickly, shifting in your spot as the boys appeared from behind the couch.
“Come on just tell us.” James asked, stomping his foot slightly like a child.
“I said I’m not doing this, where’s Moony he needs to help me up.” You grumbled, still trying to get up from your spot and failing.
“He’s out.” Sirius said, a smirk on his face as you groaned, rolling your eyes.
“And you can’t get up and walk away without our help so, answer the question.” James teased, making you groan even louder, throwing your head back with frustration.
“I hate you both.” You hissed, making James hold his Chet with fake hurt as Sirius smirked.
“We love you too. But that wasn’t the question.” Sirius said, causing you to hold your hands out with anger,
“Please just help me up.” You mumbled, struggling to stand with your large bump in the way.
“No.”
“Oh come on.” You whined, flailing around slightly with frustration.
“Not until you answer us.”
“I am not answering you, this is ridiculous!” You shouted, letting your head fall back angrily, as the door gently swung open, catching everyone’s attention. Your face couldn’t help but light up with a smile when your boyfriend, Remus, appeared at the doorway, his hands full of bags from Hogsmead.
“Okay, I’ve brought you the new chocolates from Hogsmeade. Not only are they delicious but Honeydukes swears by it’s healing power.” He explained, walking over to hand you a box.
“Remus, thank god, come help me up.” You said eagerly, before Remus shook his head.
“Nope.” He said quickly, sitting beside you. You stared at him for a moment in shock.
“What?” “Ha!”
You and the boys yelled in unison, causing Remus to sigh.
“Sorry love, but you’re on bed rest. Can’t risk hurting you or our little moon.” Remus explained, rubbing your bump gently with a kind smile on his face. You couldn’t even be mad at the sweetness of it.
“This is a travesty.” You sighed, burying your face in his shoulder.
“Perfect, now you can’t move, and you need to answer our question.” Sirius teased, causing Remus to perk up slightly with interest.
“What’s the question?” He asked, making James smile proudly.
“Which one of us has the better hair, me or Padfoot?” He asked.
Remus turned to face you, a nervous look on his face as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Alright come on, to the common room we go.” Remus said, helping you get up as you cheered to yourself.
“Hey!”
“She just didn’t wanna hurt your feelings cause you’re her best friend.” James said angrily, shaking his head as Sirius shoved him.
“You’re her brother! She’d wanna protect your feelings more!” He argued, before you appeared quickly in the doorway.
“For the record, the answer was Padfoot.” You said quickly, before gesturing to Remus to hurry up and help you out the room.
“Hey!” James shouted, about to come run after you before he noticed you had taken his invisibility cloak from his desk.
“Yes!” Sirius cheered, looking at himself in your mirror proudly, shaping his face, and his ego.

Secret Identity

“Well, now that we have our animagus forms, we need names for them!” said Peter, just after they had revealed to Remus what they had done.
“Why do you say that, Pete?” asked James curiously.
“Well, Remus is Moony already, so it just makes sense!”
Remus was still slightly leaning against Sirius, in shock. He wasn’t complaining of course; any contact with Remus was a privilege. Not that Remus knew he thought that.
Sirius jumped in, “I think it’s a brilliant idea.”
“Alright! So, now we need to brainstorm,” James declared.
Peter squealed. “It’s like we’ll have secret identities!”
“In a way we do, I suppose,” Sirius mused.
For a while, they shot out ideas. Remus eventually joined in after he had regained the ability to speak.
“How about… Prongs?” James asked.
There was a strong chorus of “Yes!” from the other three boys. James grinned.
“Well, if we’re going off of physical attributes,” Sirius began. He shifted into his animagus form and then back. “How about Padfoot? Y’know, because of my paws?”
“Brilliant!” James said, and the other two nodded in agreement.
All three of them turned to look expectantly at Peter now.
“What do you think, Peter?” Asked Remus. “What do you want your name to be?”
Peter thought for a moment, then said,
“Well, if I’m being honest, I quite liked Wormtail…”
“Wormtail it is then, mate!” Sirius exclaimed.
☾☆☾☆
Later that night, Sirius awoke in a cold sweat to Remus whispering,
“Shh. Siri, don’t worry it’s just a nightmare. I’m right here, I’ve got you.”
It had been another typical nightmare, his mother yelling and him trying to run down a dark hallway towards a door that he couldn’t quite reach, while curses shot from the walls and Reggie cried somewhere in the distance. It never got easier.
Taking a deep breath, he relaxed in Remus’ arms.
“Thanks, Moony.”
“No problem, Pads.”
“Already nickname-ifying the nickname? You’ve barely even started using Padfoot in its entirety!” Sirius teased.
“I can’t help it,” Remus protested, “it’s so nickname-ifyable!”
Sirius chuckled.
“It’s late, I should let you get to sleep,” Remus said, beginning to slip out of Sirius’ bed.
Before he could stop himself, he grabbed Remus’ wrist. “No!”
Remus turned back to Sirius, a slightly confused expression on his face. “Do you think you’ll have another nightmare?”
Flushing, Sirius said, “No, I just– I just like having you close.”
Remus flushed too.
“I– sorry, nevermind, it was stupid,” Sirius started to apologize, but Remus had already begun to climb back into his bed.
“Hey, ‘ts alright. I can stay.” He climbed in, and put his arm around Sirius, and Sirius’ head was on his chest, and - and oh Merlin, they were cuddling. Sirius tried to relax and hoped Remus couldn’t feel his heart beating out of his chest. He was too preoccupied with his own worries to notice Remus’ was too.
After a few minutes, Sirius began to feel tired again. He breathed in deep, and it smelled like books and chocolate and Remus, Remus, Remus. And he was drifting away to sleep…
But just before he fully fell asleep, he could have sworn he heard Remus murmur,
“I like having you close too.”
