Tales of Bloody Bug and Chat Noir - Chapter 51 - A Little Something More
Beginning || Previous || Next
Chat Noir arrived on the rooftop of Le Grand Paris where Sabrina waved him down. He de-transformed and hugged her.
“There you are, Kitten!” Sabrina cheered.
Adrien beamed. “How’s your day been, Rin?”
“Busy, busy, busy! We finally got all the designs for the Hero’s Day thing the mayor is hosting. That’s actually why Chloe messaged you. I told her not to bother you given everything you’re going through, but you know Chloe.”
“As stubborn as Alix. I’m actually glad she asked me to join you guys. I probably should be with Alim and Amelie, but all the legal stuff is a little confusing. Not to mention Amelie keeps flirting with Alim.”
“Oh? That’s Felix’s mom, right? Is Alim showing interest too?”
“I… I don’t know. I watch the two and it’s painfully obvious for Aunt Amelie, but not for Alim. He’s got a good poker face, as they say.”
“How odd. Well, let’s join Chloe and Zoe in her room where we’re looking through the designs.”
Adrien nodded and followed Sabrina. “Zoe’s helping you guys?”
“Well, if you can call it help. See, the mayor’s team was handling this, until Chloe came down and started barking orders. And you know how ‘Daddy’ kowtows to Chloe’s demands, so we took over. I was worried she’d dump all the work on me, but she’s helping. Zoe joined us and, well, she’s helping in her own way.”
            “How so?”
            “Well.”
            “Zoe!” Chloe screeched.
Adrien and Sabrina jumped as they heard muffled yelling in English.
“Oh dear. There she goes again. Uh, just remember, English please,” Sabrina reminded.
Adrien nodded. He followed Sabrina into Chloe’s room where Chloe chased Zoe around. He raised a brow as he watched Zoe effortlessly vault over furniture and ran circles around Chloe while Chloe struggled to keep up.
“Dammit, Zoe! Stop stealing all of the designs inspired by Outlaw!” Chloe yelled.
Zoe stuck out her tongue and retreated to Chloe’s walk-in closet.
Chloe groaned and collapsed onto the couch.
“Everything ok, Chlo?” Adrien asked in English.
“No. We have a deadline to meet to get these designs approved and little missy keeps stealing the ones for Outlaw!” Chloe yelled towards the closet.
“Well, how much more do you have to go?”
“Not much. Between Sabrina and myself, we’ve gotten through about half of these. Granted some of them are easier to judge with how horrible and crude they are. They want to call themselves aspiring designers with pieces like this? Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous,” Chloe complained as she held up one with a big X.
Adrien tilted his head as he looked at the design. It was pretty standard with nothing that stood out to make it unique or distinguishable, but it wasn’t horrible.
“I don’t see anything wrong with it,” Adrien commented.
“Oh, Adrikins, you sweet, summer child. I can’t let you help us approve designs if you think this is ok.”
“I can do something else still.”
Chloe hummed, then smirked. “Actually, you can. I know just what to do with you.”
Adrien opened his mouth when Chloe grabbed his arm. He yelped as she dragged him over to the closet and shoved him in.
“Get those designs back, Adrikins!” Chloe’s muffled yell came in French.
Adrien sighed and looked around the walk-in closet. He paused when he saw a sheet of paper with an eagle inspired casual outfit. He reached for it when it was snatched away. He stepped back before he pulled aside the curtain of clothes to find Zoe curled up with a stack of papers in her arms. He gave a nervous smile as she glared at him.
“I will fight you if you try to take these away. Just ask your bitch. I’m sure she still has a bite mark,” Zoe threatened.
Adrien grimaced. “N-no. I… I came to check on you.”
“How stupid do you think I am? I know Chloe wants these back.”
“Well, yes, but why do you have them anyway?”
Zoe’s face softened a little before she crawled out of her spot. Adrien watched as she spread out the designs on the floor. He gasped in awe at the amazing designs for casual, formal, and sports wear all inspired by Outlaw. One he recognized as Gabriel’s work. He frowned as he stared at it.
“Look at them. They’re amazing. They think I’m amazing. They… they like me,” Zoe said.
Adrien’s breath caught and he blinked. “Zoe?”
Zoe sighed and pulled her knees to her chest. “I feel so torn. I hate it here. Well, hate is a strong word. I… I don’t necessarily hate it, but I don’t love it. But I can’t deny that I feel… happier here. And I hate it!”
            “Why?”
“Because this isn’t my home. I should be back in the states. I should be with my ensemble of friends, my father that ignores me but is semi there, and surrounded by people that otherwise openly despise both Zoe and Outlaw. But that isn’t the case. You Frenchies like me. The real me. The me with the mask. The me that’s free to be.”
            “I don’t understand.”
“Oh, come on. Outlaw! Me. The girl that is free to exist behind a mask. One that can take the spotlight and just… exist. No one in New York liked me. The heroes dismissed me, the people loathed me, and that’s not the case here. Sure, people ignored me for a short time, until I was seen with you lot. Until I was seen saving the day. It’s just… it’s so different. But it’s a good different.”
“How weren’t you liked before if you were a hero?”
“Oh, please. I was no hero. I only messed with the ‘real’ heroes just because they dismissed me. Still they had their little Sparrow and Aeon, but they dismissed me. Said I was nothing, a child, and… and in no place to be a hero. That it was too dangerous despite Sparrow and Aeon’s involvement. So I… I caused trouble for all of them.”
            “Why would you do that?”
“Because I wanted to be seen. I… I wanted someone, anyone’s attention. Yes, I had the theater and a captive audience when we took the stage, but it was fleeting. I was never the lead or anything special, just someone in the back. The moments I had were seconds compared to so many who got to bathe in the spotlight. Even the ‘friends’ I made I usually was just there. A… a little shadow. I was no one, but at least I had something, y’know?”
            “And now?”
I don’t know. I still have Outlaw and you Frenchies like her. That already just… I mean look!”
Zoe grabbed Gabriel’s design for a casual outfit and shoved it in Adrien’s face. He recoiled and forced an uneasy smile.
“These designers get it. They get me. They don’t even know me, but look!”
Adrien lowered the design. “I… I get it, sorta. I just-.”
“And, look, I don’t like Audrey or that fool mayor that’s supposed to be my stepdad or whatever, but I have Chloe. She’s far from perfect, she’s downright awful and a bitch, but I’m comfortable around her. I’m not expected to be nice or get along with anyone with her. I can just be myself, and I appreciate that. In such a short time, I can comfortably call her my sister, but you don’t tell her that!”
Adrien put up his hands and shook his head. “Nope, not at all. But what about your friends? Don’t you miss them? Even if you were just a shadow, or whatever it was.”
“I… I do at times. It’s a little easier with Sabrina and a few others. Not that I would call Sabrina a friend either, but I do appreciate everything she’s willingly done for me, and without an agenda. It’s… it’s rather nice.”
            “What about our other friends?”
“You mean yours? They’re ok. That Rose chick is dead set on being friends with me no matter how many times I’ve insulted her. Ivan’s pretty cool, but that Mylene chick he’s glued to is annoying as all hell.”
            “What about Alix?”
“I mean… she’s cool, but she’s been super busy with that Marinette chick. Both as Alix and Bloody Bug.”
            Adrien’s face fell. “What?”
“Huh? Oh, right. I’ve seen her visiting that chick in the late evening about two times a week for the past couple of weeks. They usually just talk about boring shit like their days or hobbies or whatever. Not that I… not that I really listen, of course.”
Adrien pursed his lips. “When was the last time they met?”
“Hmm, I seem to be having a difficult time remembering. I might be able to remember.”
“I won’t give those designs back to Chloe.”
Zoe considered and shrugged. “They met last night. So, if I had to guess, they’ll be meeting two nights after tonight.”
            “Thank you.”
“Likewise. Uh, I’ll go join the others then.”
            “I would appreciate that.”
Adrien nodded and left the closet. He sat next to Sabrina. Chloe raised a brow as she gave him the side eye.
“I see you didn’t get the designs,” Chloe remarked in French.
Adrien gave a nervous chuckle. “Felix might have a better time getting them. He’s more, uh, ruthless?”
Chloe groaned. “Whatever. We’ll deal with it later. Let’s just get this done.”
~~
Chat Noir sat on the other side of the wall to Marinette’s rooftop balcony. He had waited until Alix had headed out before he left. He had watched her closer over the past couple of days. Zoe hadn’t lied to him. Alix had been in Marinette’s company more the past couple of days during school.
Chat Noir narrowed his eyes as he recalled the days that Alix spent with Marinette. Betrayal cut him deep to see Alix spend any time with Marinette. The memories of Alix smiling and laughing along with Marinette annoyed him. He didn’t understand why Alix would entertain Marinette at all. Marinette had lied to them, double-crossed, and abused all of them. Still Alix hung out with her and he hated it.
            Chat Noir’s mouth curled
            “Bloody Bug!” Marinette called.
Chat Noir’s eyes widened and as he listened to them.
“Hey, Mari. How’ve you been?” Bloody Bug asked.
“I’ve been good. Been hanging out a lot more with Alix in school. And I’m working on making amends with other people as well,” Marinette answered.
            “How’s that going for you?”
“It’s, well, it’s a process. The only person giving me a chance aside from Alix is Rose. Well, of the girls, at least. Juleka still won’t talk to me, even though it wasn’t her that I hurt. I mean, yes, I did hurt Luka, but not her.”
“Yeah, well, that’s why. From what I understand, they’re siblings, aren’t they?”
            “Yeah. Twins.”
Bloody Bug snorted. “Then you really fucked up with being friends with Juleka. You hurt one, you hurt both.”
“I… I guess so. But it doesn’t explain the others.”
            “Which ones again?”
“Alya and Mylene. I’ve tried everything to get Alya back. She was my bestie, but she’s still refusing to hang out with me. The only time she did anything was when she comforted me after I broke down in front of Alix and everyone. As for Mylene, well, I’m not sure what I did wrong to make her.”
“That’s rough. You’ve got your work still cut out for you.”
“It’s still not compared to one other person.”
            “Oh?”
Marinette sighed. “You know this one. You came to save him from me and Lila when we were akumatized.”
“Lila? Lila… was that the fox girl?”
            “Yeah. That was her.”
Bloody Bug snorted. “I forgot all about her.”
“Yeah, well, we did something awful while we were akumatized. I don’t remember it, but it still happened.”
“You sexually assaulted the Agreste model boy, right?”
A long pause. “I’m a monster. I… I hate that I have to live with this. It feels awful to be reminded of it. Every time I see him, I know what I did, but don’t remember it. Just from what I’ve been told. There are times that I doubt it really happened, until I see him, and I see the hurt that’s in his eyes. He absolutely hates me.”
            “Do you blame him?”
“No. I’m sure it’d be the same if our roles were reversed. I just wish I could make it right, but how do you make something like this right?”
“Honestly? I wish I had the answer, unfortunately there is no right answer. The best I could suggest is to respect his boundaries and what he wants. If he wants you out of his life, the best you can do is stay out of it. Don’t try to force your way in to make amends if someone doesn’t want you there. You might only end up making things worse for them.”
Another long pause. “It’s not like I have a choice, do I?”
“I mean, we always have a choice. It’s just what we do with that choice. What will you do?”
“Well, I mean, do you think a sorry might help? Even a little?”
“Not in the slightest. Not with something like this.”
“I… I didn’t think so. Still, I hoped. But what about the others? I want them back, but should I just do the same with them? Just… remove them from my life like… like they already did with me?”
A pause. “I don’t think permanently. I know a lot of them are hurt by your actions. And when we’re hurt, we’ll abandon those that hurt us to avoid being hurt again. I think you just need to give them time and allow them to approach you when they are ready.”
“What if I lose them forever though? I don’t want to be alone.”
“Hey, chin up. You have me. And these Alix and Rose girls, right? Plus your mom and dad. You aren’t alone.”
“But I don’t want to lose them.”
Bloody Bug sighed. “Look, it sucks. Trust me, I know. I had someone I loved more than life itself. I thought she would have been with me forever, but forever was cut short and they were lost. When they died, I was lost. I was hurt and betrayed even though they never had a choice in the matter I still blamed them.”
“Is that why you were always so angry?”
“Yeah, it was. It’s what lead me to almost killing someone. It’s what lead me to being afraid of my anger. It’s… it’s what lead me to allowing myself to be killed.”
            “What?”
“Yeah. I fell that far. I was saved by my team, but in those moments, I saw the person I lost. I was happy, until I saw their face and the bitter disappointment on it. I had let them down. I knew I had been letting them down all that time, but it hit the hardest in that moment of undeath. It wasn’t until I met a paradox me that I fully realized what I should do, but it damned me in the same breath.”
            “What do you mean?”
“I’ve… I’ve failed everyone. I continue to. I am burdened by a paradox. Something that happened, but never did. I allow it to continue to dictate what I do, even now. There are moments that I feel bad. Especially with those closest to me telling me to learn from it and fight for a better future or to find something worth fighting for. I’ve tried to find something else, but… but all I can see to fight for is righting ancient paradoxical wrongs. Foolish, isn’t it?”
“Well, I don’t think so. It’s something to fight for, isn’t it? And noble too. And what I’m hoping to fight for myself.”
            “Oh? What part?”
“All of it. I messed up everything, but I can set it right. I don’t like how long it’s taking or all this extra work, but I have a chance. A chance given to me by you. You had faith in me when no one else did. And it’s having someone like you in my corner that gives me the strength to fight for a better tomorrow for myself. Though I wish it was easier.”
“Yeah, that makes two of us.”
“B-but there could be something that is easy, right?”
            “What are you talking about?”
Marinette struggled for words before it went silent. Chat Noir chanced a peek to see Bloody Bug sitting alone on the balcony. She sighed, pulled out her yo-yo, and grabbed a laser pointer from inside. His ears drooped as he watched her wave the red dot around on the floor. He fought the temptation to pounce and lost as he jumped out and at it.
“So, it was you. I thought I saw you tailing me,” Bloody Bug commented.
Chat Noir chuckled nervously. “I was, uh, watching your back.”
“Cat, don’t play fool with me.”
“Fine. Why are you here talking to her? Is this because of that stupid paradox past nonsense you keep spouting?” Chat Noir whispered.
“It was a contributing factor. One of many.”
“Yeah? What could the others possibly be given everything she has done?”
“She deserves a chance to be better. She needs someone in her corner that will be there for her.”
“Why does it have to be you? Why can’t it be anyone else?”
“Who else other than me will do it?”
“I don’t know! Find someone else!”
            “Oh, Chat Noir?” Marinette said.
Chat Noir froze at Marinette’s voice.
“Ignore him, but I’ll have to leave. Something came up that needs my attention,” Bloody Bug said.
“Oh, of course. Um, but first, this is for you.”
Chat Noir glanced over as Bloody Bug took a box with the Dupain-Cheng bakery logo on it. The girls said their good-byes before Bloody Bug and Chat Noir left. They stopped as they neared the Louvre.
“Alright, what’s the issue?” Bloody Bug demanded.
“The issue? Really? You don’t think I would have an issue with you talking with the girl that fucking assaulted me?”
“That sounds like a you problem.”
Chat Noir fumed. “So what if it is? That doesn’t change the fact that I don’t want my sister anywhere near that bitch! Especially when it’s just to ease her guilt over a past that never existed.”
“It did, and I caused all this to happen. And it doesn’t matter how many times you, the old man, or Pom Pom tell me otherwise. It doesn’t matter how often I have to listen to learn from your past, fight for a better tomorrow, or fight for something worth fighting for. I just… what is there to even fight for here? Why fight at all when we could just… just go back and make things right?”
            “Bug, what are you implying?”
            “I… I don’t know. I just-.”
“You know exactly. You’ve thought about this.”
“You know what? Yes. Yes, I have. I’ve thought about using the rabbit miraculous to alter time and stop myself from getting the ladybug miraculous. I’ve thought about going back and making sure Marinette received the ladybug as she should have. Maybe then… maybe then everything would be fine. Everyone would be happy. Everyone wouldn’t have to suffer.”
“If you’ve thought about it, then why haven’t you done it?”
“Because… because I’m afraid. I gave up once so easily and she was disappointed in me. After all the years she taught me to fight for what I believed in. To never back down from standing my ground. Always seeing her do exactly what she preached. I just… I’m having a hard time finding a reason to keep fighting. Even so, even now, she’s my reason. I can’t… I can’t disappoint her again. But what can I do when there is nothing truly left to fight for?”
Chat Noir’s ears drooped as Bloody Bug broke down. He reached out for her, but she shoved Marinette’s box into him. He staggered back as she ran off. He took a step forward, but felt a hand pull him back.
            “Let her go,” Llameri said.
            “But she-!”
“Needs time. She’s in no condition to talk. Let her have her moment.”
            Chat Noir sighed. “Alright.”
Llameri smiled and took the box from Chat Noir. “Excellent. Now, I’ll take this. Probably the one thing I would miss most from that pig-tailed haired girl is her father’s baked goods.”
Chat Noir growled as he paced back and forth with his tail lashing. “I thought she was doing better. I thought she was actually fighting for a better future. She had me convinced this whole time, but was she actually just lying to me? Why would she do that? And is this really about her mother? Or is she just trying to make excuses?”
Llameri rolled his eyes as he opened the box. He paused as he eyed the letter on top. He glanced at Chat Noir before he opened and read it. He raised a brow, smiled, then tucked it into his jacket.
“Dearest Chat Noir, allow me to go check on our sweet, little bug in your place. Neither of you are in a good headspace to speak to each other, so allow me,” Llameri offered.
            “No.”
“What? Do you not trust me?”
“With the way that you two butt heads, no.”
Llameri hummed. “Fair enough. Figured I’d offer.”
“Because you want to do something.”
            “Me? I’d never-.”
            “What was in that box?”
Llameri considered, then shrugged. He pulled out the letter and handed it to Chat Noir.
Chat Noir took and read it. His heart dropped and fear tore him apart as he read Marinette’s confession to Bloody Bug. He felt a thousand eyes fall on him as cold dread consumed him. Tears stung his eyes as he ripped the letter to shreds.
“Well, that was… that was something.”
“You will not breathe a word about this to Bug. Do you hear me?”
“And what’s in it for me?” Mayura purred.
Chat Noir and Llameri jumped. They looked around as a blue feather wafted in. Their hearts dropped as a body grew around the feather that took the shape of the Nathalie Adrien knew.
“What do you want, Mayura?” Chat Noir demanded.
“My, so hostile. Even for an old friend?” Nathalie spoke.
“You’re no friend. You never were. Now, what do you want?”
“Oh, something small. And in return for this small favor, I won’t tell Bug about this little transgression. All of it.”
            Chat Noir froze. “All?”
“Of course! I’m always watching, dearie. That includes your little moment of horrific doubt in your dear sister. I can’t imagine she’d like that very much at yet another low point in her life when the girl is losing the will to fight. I wonder how she’d take hearing her brother, the one that has believed in her fully and completely, is now doubting her utterly and completely.”
“I… you… what do you want?”
“Oh, just a small favor from you at any time of my choosing.”
            “I-.”
“Don’t do it, Chat Noir!” Llameri hissed.
“Ah, yes. I forgot about you. Well, I can always sweeten the pot,” Nathalie offered.
            “There’s nothing-,” Llameri started.
“Not even the location of Kagami?”
            “What?”
“Oh, yes. I paid her a visit. Well, her mother. A deal was struck, a bargain met. And I promise you, you’ll find her. Even if you continue to wander these streets every night. You’ll never find her.”
            Llameri sneered. “You witch!”
Nathalie chuckled. “Thank you. So, what’ll it be boys?”
Llameri hesitated, then looked at Chat Noir. Chat Noir considered, then sighed.
“Fine. You have the favor from me and me alone.”
Nathalie grinned. She bowed her head as her body dissipated. The feather flew into the lid of the box and transformed into a GPS that would lead them to Kagami’s location. Llameri’s eyes widened as he grabbed Chat Noir.
“Let’s hurry before she double crosses us! Voyage!”

-so he got caught to distract him. So in other words they gambled that he wouldn’t blab in his heart’s song immediately.
-Bob Really thought ladybug and chat noir would protect him?! That’s amusing
- And here we have Luka being ‘Noble’ by saying he has to leave. (At least Adrien found out he knew)
- Jagged quitting the Rockstar life to be with his son. Juleka is in charge of kitty section.
-Price of blatantly lying about knowing ladybug’s identities. ( One Guitar, and a world trip)
____________________________________________
4/10
If I ignored my bias probably 6/10.
I’m still mad Luka basically got off scot free. I was waiting for at least SOMEONE to yell at him. But no. We got nobody mad at him. He gets a hero sacrifice. And while this was Luka’s best season, he still has s*** to own up to. Aside from that the episode was entertaining but also kind of mid. Also I’m salty about the Julrose fake out.
That being said.
Bye blue boy.

Protection, but it's dirty cause they seriously named an episode Protection and I had several ideas that really dirty
Adren: Great idea Marinette. Let's dress in our pj.
Marinette: Yeah not like something is gonna happen like in the fan fics.
Adrien: Yeah. Let's play not Super Smash Bros.
Marinette: Dibs on not Link.
Gabriel: Well Gabriel what should we do today? Where's Adrien? Wait what's that?
Live Gabriel Reaction.
Gabriel: Adrien! I thought I told you not to go out with that Marinette girl! Wait why are you in your pj? Wait do you even have protection? I'm too young to be a grandpa. I don't know how to be a grandfather. I barely know how to be a father! Nathalie! Nathalie please tell me you gave Adrien protection.
Nathalie: No. Have fun grandpa.
Gabriel: No I can't allow this! Wait. I have an idea to make sure they use protection. *Evil Laughs in Franch*
Nathalie: I already know where this is gonna go. Oh Emilie. We're really in it now.
Gabriel: Lila! I need you to do your usual lying bitch self so I can akumatize Kagami!
Lila: Actually her name in the country that is airing the episode is Kyoto.
Gabriel: Kagami, Kyoto, who gives a shit!
Lila: So yeah Gabriel wants you akumatized.
Kagami, or Kyoto: Fine lets get this over with.
Lila:...
Kagami, or Kyoto:... Not same. I need to be sad or mad or something.
Lila: Okay let's see. Marinette is a bitch ass mother fucker.
Kagami or Kyoto cries.
Monarch: Perfect! Wayzz! I need your power of Protection!
Wayzz: Why am I getting a different idea on why you need me?
Adrien: This is nice.
Marinette: Yeah just me, you and the clouds.
Riposte: DIE MARINETTE!
Adrienette: Kagami? Or is it Kyoto?
Gabriel: Okay there we go. Now they have protection.
Chat Noir: Stop Kagami!
Marinette: Chat Noir my beloved.
Tikki: Marinette please control your thirst.
Ladybug: Olive Oil? Well I can think of other uses for it. And they are not child friendly.
Chat Noir: Really? How's that?
Ladybug: I'll show you on our wedding day.
Chat Noir: Cool. Wait what?
Kagami or Kyoto: I love you both.
Adrienette: Sweet threesome.
Adrien: Hey Marinette. Earlier a friend said they knew other uses for olive oil. Do you know what are these "other" uses?
Marinette: Well I'll show you on our wedding day.
Adrien: Cool. Wait what?
Gabriel: No you must use protection!
Marinette: Was that your dad?
Adrien: Yeah but what does he mean by protection?
Marinette: Don't know. What did he think we were gonna do?
Adrien: Don't know.

Hawkmoth was a bitch, and Marinette meant that with every fiber of her soul. Fu was also a bitch, and Marinette actually had good memories of the guy. Not many, but she had some. The fact that the guy got two ten-year-olds to become super heroes and fight a supervillain for him kinda soured those memories, though. But with Chat Noir not allowed to leave his house? Yeah, even as young as they were it only took about a year to find out who HawkMoth was and another year to take him down.
Except, that left Marinette alone. The final battle took her mom away, and Chat had to move out of Paris after his dad was arrested. Luckily Jagged allowed her and her papa to move into his house in Gotham, and everything was…
Well, it was okay. For about a month.
Then her dad was gone too, and she had no way to talk to Jagged, and the police were scaring her—
Yeah, that was the basic order of events that led to where she was now. Pushing fourteen years old, ex-superhero, protector of a magical box of gods, stealing the tires off of a very nice motorcycle.
Marinette was tempted to just take the whole thing, she loved bikes and knew she could drive it. But the thing had more security than she knew what to do with, and the fact that it belonged to Red Hood… she didn’t want to deal with trackers today, thanks. So the tires it was.
Should she maybe care more about the fact that she was stealing from a vigilante with a violent streak? Maybe. Did she? Hell no. For all she knew, maybe Red Hood was a bitch too. (Yes, she was still learning English slang. She was fluent by educational standards, but learning how to curse in a foreign language was fun and she still had a little bit to go. Her few street friends were very happy to help).
A shadow dropped down in front of her, and Marinette’s hero instincts kicked in. The tire iron she was using cut through the air, slamming right into the side of Red Hood’s knee.
—*—*—*—*—*
“Hood,” Batman’s voice grumbled over the comms, instantly grabbing the attention of everyone else who was on the comms. It wasn’t as gruff as he usually sounded, in fact it almost sounded like… he was trying not to laugh?
“Did you get gassed by Joker?” Dick asked before Jason got a chance to respond. “Need backup?”
“No,” Batman responded, sounding a little more composed. “Not a rogue. But Hood, I need you to join me at my location as soon as possible.”
Finally getting the chance to talk, Jason responded a little warily; “Sure, B. Wait,” he blinked at the location that was sent to him. “Isn’t that where my bike is parked?”
Batman didn’t respond at first, only the sound of labored breathing— again, as if he was trying not to laugh. “Just get here, Hood.”
Sighing, but not too mad since the night had been fairly quiet so far, Jason decided to humor the old man and head over. When he could see the cape-clad back of Batman, he easily leapt over the last roof and sauntered over.
“Okay, B,” he had his thumbs tucked in his pockets as he drawled. “What’s the issue?”
Batman was grinning. As in, actually showing amusement. And he just pointed down, straight at Hood’s bike.
Jason rolled his eyes under his helmet, turning to look. At first he didn’t see anything amiss, until he saw movement and looked harder. Oh. Oh, holy shit.
“Is that a kid?”
“Yep,” Batman’s grin grew.
“Is she… stealing my tires?” Hood was so, so glad he wore a helmet that hid his expression. Because… wow.
“Yep,” Batman finally lost his composure, chuckling. “This seems like Karma, don’t you think?”
“And you just watched her so you could rub it in,” Jason groaned, throwing his head back in exasperation. Of course he would. Nobody knew it (except the other heroes who knew him) but Batman was a petty little jerk when he wanted to be. He bought the whole Daily Planet just to spite Clark, for crying out loud.
“Don’t adopt her,” Batman said as he stood up, patting Red Hood’s shoulder. “It looks like she’s almost done.”
“Shit,” Jason hissed, looking down to see that she was, actually, very close to being done. She had already had one tire completely free by the time he had arrived, and now she was only seconds away from getting the other one completely free.
He took a quick assessment— she was tiny, and really thin. Definitely a street kid, he thought, though he didn’t recognize her. He knew most of the street kids that stole to get by, nowadays, which meant she must have been fairly new. But even though she seemed to know what she was doing, her small frame made her take longer unscrewing the tires than it normally would have taken. Sure that she wasn’t a threat by any stretch of the imagination, he jumped down. His plan had been to startle her a little by showing up out of nowhere, but he didn’t want to scare her too badly. Just make her jump a little.
But he had underestimated her, it seemed. Without wasting a second, she jumped up and swung her tire iron at his knee. He cursed, she was a lot faster than her had been expecting. He was able to move so that the weapon only clipped the side of his knee, his knee pad thankfully taking the worst of it. She still hit hard enough to make him stumble and hiss in pain though, which was an accomplishment.
That’s when she abandoned her weapon and her tires, darting to try and escape only for Batman to drop down and block her escape. Though really, it was the grin Batman had that scared the girl most of all, apparently, making her slowly back away from him.
“Please stop smiling,” she begged with a faint French accent to her words. “It is not natural.”
That made Red Hood laugh, already recovered and right behind her. He plopped a gloved hand on her head.
“I know, it’s creepy right?” He joked. “What’cha doin’ stealing my tires, kid? I kinda need them to drive anywhere,” he was careful to keep his voice light and devoid of any anger. He wasn’t really upset, all told. It would be hypocritical of him if he was.
She looked between the two vigilantes for a moment, clear intelligence behind those bright blue eyes as she seemed to consider something. Suddenly she pulled away from Red Hood and stepped away from his reach, straightening up and trying to look tall.
“My name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng,” she said as firmly as she could. “My father was Tom Dupain, he was killed in a mugging three months ago. We were living in a house that our family friend leant to us after my mother’s death six months ago, and we moved here from Paris. I haven’t been able to contact him, and the police… I don’t trust them,” she admitted, clearly seeing this as the chance she had been waiting for. “I have been living on the streets since my father died. I am sorry for trying to steal your tires, Monsieur Red Hood. But it was a risk I had to take.”
“Did you expect us to catch you?” He asked, crossing his arms as he re-evaluated the girl. She was a lot stronger than he had assumed earlier, both physically and mentally. She seesawed her hand to indicate ‘kinda’.
“Even if you didn’t, I could make good money off your tires,” she justified with a shrug. “To me, I would win either way.”
“Who is your family friend? Can he help you now, take you in?” Batman asked, moving forward and kneeling down to be closer to Marinette’s height. Neither he nor Jason had missed the part where she was an orphan, but they had expected that considering what they had caught her doing. And they both knew that she wasn’t likely to take any apologies they tried to offer very well. It was best not to show pity, or she might get angry.
Marinette frowned. “... Our family friend is Jagged Stone. He lets me call him Uncle Jagged,” she told them, clearly expecting the disbelieving grunts they gave. “I mean it! You can call him, he might even be looking for me! I—“
“We know,” Hood assured her, now kneeling down as well. Man, she was short. “Calm down, we know you’re telling the truth. Jagged has made several public announcements about his missing honorary niece, we just didn’t recognize your name right away. And Jagged doesn’t have access to very many pictures of you, those he does have the Mayor isn’t allowing him to show because that spineless jackass—“
“Language, Hood.”
“—Cares more about keeping bad press off the air than finding a kid, even if it’s a world famous rockstar who’s asking. That’s probably why you haven’t heard anything, the mayor’s keeping it off the radio and not many reporters are brave enough to take the story and get on his bad side.”
“Oh…” Marinette took a deep breath, fighting the tears that were threatening to rise up. “He has been looking…” she sniffled, curling in on herself a little. “Can you take me to him?”
“I think we can do that,” Batman agreed, standing up. “I’ll contact him. Red Hood, can you handle everything here until I give you a place to meet up with Jagged Stone?”
Jason nodded. “No problem, B. Come on, little rabid pixie. Step one of gettin’ you back to your uncle is to help me fix my bike back up.”
Marinette sighed, shoulders dropping. “All my hard work, undone…” she playfully complained. But in the end she didn’t argue or fight against it, she just sat down and helped him reattach his tires.
All the while, Jason’s family kept teasing him over the comms. Clearly they were also thoroughly amused by the cosmic display of karma.
“...Monsieur Hood,” Marinette asked once they were done repairing the motorcycle and he had given her his too-big extra helmet. He tilted his head a bit to show he was listening. She squirmed. “Can… can we stop by my hideout? I have something really important I have to get.”
Jason smiles gently under his mask. She might not have been a street kid for very long, but she really did bring back some memories for him. He got on his bike and held a hand out to her.
“Sure thing kid. Wanna grab something to eat after? Can’t have a reunion on an empty stomach.”
She gave him a lopsided smile— not quite overjoyed, but definitely hopeful and thankful. Maybe this was the end of her streak of bad luck, she could only hope.
“Only if you don’t mind, Monsieur Hood,” she agreed before taking his hand and letting him help her onto the bike.
“No skin off my back, pixie,” he assured her. Then they were off. He followed her directions until they got to an abandoned building about three miles away, not in a good part of town at all but at least not in crime alley. Marinette easily led him through the building, skirting around other piles of ratty blankets and up broken stairs until they got to the badly-maintained top floor. She led him over to an almost invisible door in the concrete wall that pulled out to reveal what was probably a broom closet once upon a time. It was crowded with what looked like junk and empty boxes, along with a few blankets and two or three changes of clothes that were clearly her’s. A few belongings scattered around— a book, a small pink purse, and… Marinette came out of the pile of mess holding what had clearly been a very carefully hidden box. She also grabbed the purse and slung it over her shoulder, but didn’t seem worried about anything else.
Jason frowned at the box. It wasn’t that big, but it was clearly made of old wood. There were intricate carvings that were painted pink, in a symbol that was itching at the back of his mind. He recognized that symbol, but from where?
“Ready to go, kid?” He asked as he thought about it, getting a nod from Marinette. Twenty minutes later they were at a Batburger, sitting in a shaded booth that couldn’t be seen from the street.
She never let the box out of her sight. She kept it on the seat next to her, and Jason noticed that she tried to keep one hand on it at all times. But when she spoke, now her French accent stood out to him even more than before. But why—?
And then it clicked. Paris. Hawkmoth. Ladybug, Chat Noir, magic artifacts called Miraculous. Wonder Woman had raised a fuss when the heroes disappeared, declaring that something was wrong but she couldn’t put her finger on what. Then the magic users they trusted were called in, and returned from Paris with the grim news that the former Guardian of those artifacts had activated a failsafe and passed the guardianship on to someone else while erasing his own memories at the same time. But nobody knew who he could have passed it on to, so Batman had been given the green light to do all the research he and his team could into the Miraculous box to try and help track it down.
And here it was. The carvings were in pink now, which might have been the “cosmetic change” that Constantine had mentioned might happen when the box changed guardians. He had found the box full of super powerful magical artifacts… in the hands of a newly orphaned street kid who couldn’t have been older than fourteen at best.
What the hell?
“...” Red hood reached into his pocket and pulled out an old receipt and a sharpie. He scrawled on the back of the receipt and handed to Marinette. The girl was halfway into a bite of her burger when he did, and blinked at him owlishly before swallowing and cautiously reaching out to grab it. She frowned at the numbers scrawled there.
“What’s this?” She asked.
“My contact info,” he explained. “I won’t ask questions about why you have that box,” he watched her instantly stiffen but continued as casually as he could; “but it doesn’t matter. You can call me if you ever need help with anything, kid. Help with that box, help if you get in trouble in Gotham again, or even if you’re having a bad day. You can call me for whatever, got it? I don’t care if you think it’s stupid, if you can’t talk to anyone else in your life you can always call or text me and I’ll do whatever I can. Got it?”
“...” Marinette sniffled for a second and looked down at the table in silence for a second. “... what if I want your motorcycle?” she joked, but the watery tone of her voice gave her away.
Jason laughed, patting her head. “I need my bike, but we can talk about getting you your own once you are old enough to get a license. You almost done? Bats says that Jagged is ready to meet you, I can take you to him right now.”
“Yeah, lets go!” she was newly energized and shoved the last bite of burger into her mouth greedily. “And Red Hood?” She asked as they headed out to where he had parked.
“Yeah, kid?”
“Thanks.”

The Brain decided to combine two blorbos with two other blorbos
SO
GREEN COUSINS MIRACULOUS LADYBUG AU
here we go i thought of all this in the shower earlier and i will continue to expand
if you don’t know what miraculous ladybug is basically the two kids are superheroes and classmates irl but they don’t know the other is their superhero partner
first of all lloyd is ladybug and morro is chat noir
THIS IS NOT SHIPPING BY THE WAY
as classmates lloyd is always trying to befriend the lonely emo guy who sits in front of him
and morro is Not Having It
civilian morro is a lot more quiet and reserved compared to superhero morro
for the same reason as adrien (something something able to be his true self behind the mask of anonymity)
as superheroes morro is lowkey salty he wasn’t picked to be ladybug (green ninja parallels eheheuheheeh) and got stuck with what he thinks is essentially “the sidekick” title
so he’s always trying to one up lloyd (i haven’t thought of their hero names yet bear with me)
and lloyd thinks he’s really fucking annoying
like “i get you’re mad but i can’t do anything about it so can you stfu and carry out the fucking plan”
fu is wu of course (rhyming 😌😌)
wu is the old man who “gives them their superpowers” ig
mmmm garmadon is the logical choice for hawkmoth (hawkmoth is the villain by the way)
but lloyd??
in the show one of the superheros is the son of the villain
maybe it could be the overlord
HARUMI AS MAYURA
mayura is like,,, the villain sidekick
who gets a redemption arc 👀👀
i’m sticking with it garmadon as hawkmoth and harumi as mayura
none of that shippy shit going on with gabriel and natalie don’t be weird
aw shit maybe harumi could actually be his like non biological daughter
and she’s mayura cause she’s desperate to prove herself worthy to be his daughter or something
so lloyds the one in the iffy household
and morro is the one who lives in the popular homey bakery 💀💀
it completely ruins his aesthetic
if/when lloyd finds out about garmadon bring hawkmoth, morro is the one who has to snap him out of it and tell him to “get your shit together, cause god knows you’re the only one who can stop him”
character development babey
maybe when morro starts to let go of the anger of not being ladybug, he starts being a little more open to the kid behind him who’s always trying to talk to him
and mellows out on the whole “being a cocky asshole to ladybug”
lloyd is ecstatic of course
over time the superheroes (STILL HAVE NOT THOUGHT OF NAMES) become the friends who always bitch and argue but have each other’s backs no matter what
they trust each other with their life (kinda have to what with the fighting and all)
as classmates it’s the stereotypical extrovert adopt introvert situation
of course lloyd is friends with the ninja
we’ve got the whole ninja friend group who are ALL loud and energetic as fuck (except for maybe zane but he has his moments)
so it’s more of an extrovert kidnaps introvert to hang out with more extroverts
yeah another open au so leave ideas!! please i need ideas

hello love! Can I please request a somewhat spicy sub!chat noir x reader? Maybe where the reader is kinda feeling him up and leaving him hickeys and he’s a purring and moaning mess? Maybe he’s begging her to keep going and who is she to say no to such a sweet baby kitty? If that’s not too much of course😌 tysm
Hello bb ! I hope that this satisfied your sub! Chat needs hehe (i know it satisfied mine so) I really love how this came out and maybe i’m willing on continuing another part from here) Thank you so much for this request ! <3
Pairing: Chat Noir X Reader
Warnings: NSFW, characters are aged up in college here :), swearing.
Tags: Sub!chat, Dry humping, begging.
This is how it all went down. He saved you from an akumatized villain. He flirted. You flirted back. Then you guys started hooking up.
You didn’t understand why Chat Noir would do this with a civilian but like every other person on this planet, he has his needs. He would knock in a pattern on your window so you knew it was him and you would let him in, you’d talk for a bit, ask each other about your day until one of you breaks and pushes the other on the bed or against the wall. He was good in bed. Very good. You knew you’d never grow tired of this affair. To top it all off after you both finished you’d sit in bed and talk about all sorts of things. Aliens, Conspiracy theories about the media, gossip about people and sometimes he’d even play Mario Kart with you.
There were no strings attached. You both made it clear from day one. There couldn’t be. You both didn’t have the time for a relationship, you both didn’t have the energy for one so you simply stuck to the title ‘fuck buddies’ until one of you decides to back out. This night was different though. A smile didn’t appear on your face when you hear the familiar knock on your window because you were stuck cussing at your computer screen and rubbing your head in frustration. You had an essay to explain Shakespeare and his works but for some reason you kept deleting all that you’ve typed because you couldn’t put your thoughts into words.
He knocked again, quickly this time. “I know you’re there, beautiful.” His voice was muffled through the glass.
You huffed and put your laptop on the bed before stomping to the window. You opened it and were met by the hero grinning at you. You, on the other hand, didn’t have a pleased look on your face.
“I’m not in the mood Chat.” You state and were about to close the window again but he held it to stop you from closing it.
“Ma Belle, did I do something wrong?” He asks, a frown on his face.
You shake your head. “No, I just have this stupid essay that I’ve been trying to type out for the past four hours.” You sigh and make your way back to your bed, rubbing your temples.
He follows you inside and closes the window behind him.
“Maybe I can ease your stress for a little bit.” He says, a smirk on his face.
You simply shoot him a glare and he chuckles nervously, putting his hands up in defense.
“Okay. No sex. Got it.” He sits beside you and looks at what you’re typing.
“You know you can leave right? If you’re horny you can go to your other side bitches.” You say as you type away, your eyes glued onto your screen.
Chat purses his lips, like he held himself back from saying something and shook his head.
“Maybe I came here for some company.” He says.
You snort and chuckle. “Yeah right.” You say sarcastically and look at him, but he wasn’t smiling. You gulp and your smile fades away. Did he seriously come over because he feels lonely?
His face was leaning closer to your and you were leaning closer too. No. You had to finish this stupid essay.
“Stop distracting me kitty.” You whisper and kiss his nose quickly before looking back at the screen.
He groans and falls back on the bed, playing with the pillow.
“I can help you if you’re writing about Shakespear, I wro-“ He stops himself from talking and you turn around, quirking your eyebrow at him.
“You wrote an essay like this?” you questioned.
He visibly gulps and shakes his head.
“Do you go to college?” You question further.
He chuckles nervously. “You know I can’t tell you that mon ange.”
You stare at him for a moment before looking back at your screen. You decided not to pry further, he seemed uncomfortable talking about his personal life and you decided to respect his wishes.
Your phone started to ring and you see that it’s your friend from college Marinette. You pick it up.
“Hey Mari.” You say as you type.
“The deadline has been changed to next week!” She exclaims happily.
You were filled with rage.
“what?” You deadpanned.
“Yeah apparently some students asked to change it because they were having difficulties so he changed it to next week instead of tomorrow morning.”
“I literally asked him to extend the deadline three days ago and he refused. I swear to god I want to kill this son of a bitch” You groan and clutch your fist in anger.
She sighs, “I know girl, but hey at least you’ve got more time on your hands!”
Marinette always tried to be positive when she could and you appreciated that but honestly you needed to vent. “Yeah, thanks for letting me know Mari.”
“No problem! Bonne nuit.”
“Bonne nuit.” You sigh out before you end the call.
You groan out in frustration and shut your laptop.
“What happened?” Chat asks.
You get out of your bed and start to pace around.
“I have been working on this essay for the past four days, knowing very well how stupid it was that the deadline was only five days for a two thousand word essay on fucking Shakespeare and when I ask to extend the deadline, the son of a bitch replies with an angry email saying theres enough time and that im just lazy.” You finally breathe and chat was about to say something but you cut him off.
“But when his privileged French pupil ask him to extend the deadline of course he agrees and you know what, I think it was Adrien fucking Agreste who asked him because hes the fucking pretty model boy who has everybody on their knees for him just because of his high status.” You sit down and without realising you start talking about a different subject.
“Yeah, I get it, everybody wants to fuck the pretty blond guy with money, I would too but at least I don’t look like a thirsty bitch every time he talks to me, some girls in my damn college have literally no chill and I swear to god one day I want to make him my bitch, make him weak for me to show those bitches what i’m capable of.” You were breathing heavily at this point and your face was flushed red.
You always thought Adrien was attractive, everyone did but whenever he talked to you, you responded normally to him unlike other people who constantly laughed at everything he said to try and get in his pants. He was a good guy but he was too well known for his own good and it made you uninterested in him. You thought he was out of your league, that’s what those french bitches told you at least. They belittled you just because you’re foreign - you knew they were just jealous that Adrien was always the one to come up to talk to you unlike them.
That was enough ranting for now. You look at Chat who was staring at you wide eyed, his cheeks glowing red.
“You don’t need to say anything, it’s just-“ You look down at his body and notice something. “Chat..why are you hard?”
He crosses his legs over the other awkwardly to try and hide it. “W-What are you talking about?”
You stand up and walk over to him and he walks back until he’s pressed against the wall.
“What? You get hard thinking about me making someone weak?” You whisper to him and he looks away from you. “You want me to do the same to you kitty?” You kiss his ear and he shudders, nodding slowly. Your hand moves down from his chest to his belly and your lips move from his ear to his jaw. Chat tilts his head back and a frenzy of purrs emerge from his parted lips. He was aroused, in a state of euphoria even with your small, light touches. Your hand moved lower until it reached down to the tent he had in his suit. It was painfully tight for him. Your fingertips lightly brushed over the bulge and he cussed under his breath.
“Fuck.” He whispered while you continued to touch his clothed erection and lick up his neck. He kept purring and moaning at the same time. You loved seeing him worked up like this. Your lips latched on to a certain spot on his neck and you sucked on it harshly, nibbling at it when you got the chance and putting more pressure with your hand against him.
He was a mess, grinding against your hand and breathing heavily.
“Ma Belle – merde,” he couldn’t even speak without stuttering. “I want more, please.” He begs and you look up at him, noticing the red mark on his neck and feeling very pleased with yourself.
“More what, kitty?” You whisper and remove your hand from where it was.
He groans in frustration.
“More – I-I want you to touch me more.” He pleads. “Please.”
You smirk at him and pull him to your bed, pushing him back on the bed and getting on his lap. Before he could react you put your lips on his and start to grind on top of him.
He moans against your lips and throws his head back, holding onto your hips for support. You could tell that he wanted to take his clothes off but you wanted him to come right then and there.
Your hips move against his, the friction pleasing you the same, causing you to moan but grin at the worked up blond beneath you.
“Shit, shit I’m close.” He whimpers and closes his eyes, moving his own hips with yours to get more pleasure.
It felt so good but you knew you couldn’t finish with him, maybe you could continue after but your hopes disappeared when you heard the beeping coming from his ring.
“Mon Ange I-“
“Shut up and come for me kitty.” You groan out and quicken your movements causing him to part his lips and hold onto you.
His body shakes and he spews out cuss words in French while he comes undone, thrusting his hips up and whimpering.
You’re both breathing heavily, looking at each other both dazed and tired. You were about to lean in for another kiss but his ring starts beeping furiously.
You hop off of his lap and watch as he groans while he gets up, uncomfortably moving because of the mess he made between his legs.
“I’m sorry I cant finish you off.” He says, pouting at you.
“It’s okay Chat, I think you’ve done enough today.” You wink at him and he chuckles bashfully.
“Until next time Mon ange!” He says and opens the window.
“Bye Kitty.” You blow him a kiss and with that he’s off.
Maybe you could actually finish yourself off to the thought of him being a mess for you but before you could even do anything, your phone beeps and you see a notification from Adrien Agreste.
“Did you hear that they moved the deadline for the Shakespeare essay? Pissed me off tbh.”
It was like he knew you accused him of something and to top it all off this was the first time he’s ever really texted you. It was weird but maybe you shouldn’t think much of it. Right?

Destruction is out and boy, this one’s a doozy
Ok review/rant time let’s go motherfuckers, and for simplicity sake, I will be dividing this post into subcategories to make reading this tolerable, because HOLY FUCK SO MUCH HAPPENED.
The season could have ended here… again.
I swear to god this season’s theme might as well be “let’s show you all the ways we can finish this show in one episode using a smart idea, but proceed to beat it to a pulp with a hammer because we need this show to run on forever and ever and never stop EVER” because Ladybug takes Hawkmoth- oh sorry, MoNaRcH, on this entire fucking treasure hunt 5D chess game, ONLY TO FLUB IT IN THE LAST SECOND?!
Tumblr media
LIKE BITCH STOP MONOLOGUING I KNOW YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT HOW GREAT YOU ARE AND HOW MUCH OF A GUARDIAN YOU ARE EVEN IF YOU FAILED IN EVERY ASPECT POSSIBLE, BUT NOWS THE TIME TO SHUT UP AND GRAB THE MIRACULOUSES
The Kwamis are also still kinda brat babies, but I forgive them this time because monarch deserved it
Also is the show not aware that they’re pointing out the absurdity of the fucking rooster miraculous by explaining it?! Like bitch if it’s meant to give you powers it’s fucking OP! And Hawkmoth could’ve easily asked for the power to translate the Kwami bubbles into speech and whoops look at that doesn’t contradict other Kwamis HE WINS!!!
Tumblr media
And speaking of Hawkmoth…
BITCH YOU LITERALLY WERE FACING LADYBUG!!! I DONT CARE HOW MAGICAL AND STRONG THE FUCKING MASKS ARE, IT TAKES A SINGLE NEURON FOR YOU TO GO “wait a minute. A random girl around ladybug’s age with same hair and eyes and physique conveniently has the first key to the puzzle to find the miraculous. NO ITS THE MOUSE MIRACULOUS LETS GO FIND LADYBUG’S FUCKING ADDRESS”
Tumblr media
It’s so… stupid. Again the show starts with a smart idea to look like they’re becoming a sophisticated plot that moves forward, but the characters’ actions are just so idiotic! Like ladybug/Hawkmoth could’ve easily won if they had done the one logical thing anyone else would have done!
Chat noir… is a tool
Real quick y’all Chat Noir has 1:15 minutes of screentime from a 20 something minute episode, and his screentime consists of one scene where he kills it to being a prop for Ladybug’s plan.
Also is it just me? Or is the show really trying to push chat noir into the back? Like I’m still not sure because it’s only been three episodes, but Chat Noir has been entirely downgrade to funny quips, one line that fans will adore and latch onto, and “yes ladybug you’re amazing ladybug you’re ideas are always right ladybug and you’ll always fix everything ladybug despite failing miserably, still betraying my trust and hiding secrets, and being all in all a shit human”
Tumblr media
Either way I feel bad for him, you did good baby, now go contemplate how your cataclysm works please don’t use it on yourself
What the fuck is the timeline?!
Ok so when the fuck does this exactly take place?! I know the actual mission is supposed to take place between episode 1 and 2 because of Hawkmoth’s appearance but then why the fuck did they say last episode that there was a time skip where Hawkmoth did nothing?! CLEARLY IF HAWKMOTH WAS CAUGHT LIVE PUTTING A RANDOM GIRL IN A HOSTAGE SITUATION WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF IT?! OR LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR WOULD HAVE ALERTED THE PUBLIC?!
Tumblr media
Also if Adrien just cataclysmed Hawkmoth, wouldn’t he have more on his mind then marinette?! Which speaking of, watch Gabe’s cataclysm mark be forgotten until the show needs it ti be relevant again
Tumblr media
The show be pretending to have a timeline, but the timeline is as bad as ever✨
Monarch 2.0… ugh.
Listen I’m gonna make a whole ass separate post about the miraculous rings, because this shit is so absurd and breaks every single rule we’ve known about the miraculouses thus far that it needs its own analysis post (I’ll try to put it here if I remember) but long story short, the rings should not be able to work if they were ground up ti powder because of what we know happens when there’s a single crack in a miraculous, and Gabriel’s way of using them with the unity rings is the most bullshit way ever that breaks every rule we’ve known about Kwamis and Miraculouses ever AND IT INFURIATES NE SO FUCKING MUCH
Tumblr media
Also Gabe’s new look is fine if it weren’t for those hideously tight pants, and Monarch 2.0 is actually the ugliest design this show have come out with so far
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whew! Now that all that is out, I’m heading to bed! Goodnight!

Coup de Grâce — Miraculous 2/2
𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘮: Miraculous Ladybug
𝘗𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨: Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir + Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug
𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨: SFW
𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵: 7,599
𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺:
Coup de Grâce (Noun) A final blow or shot, given to kill a wounded person or animal.
When Adrien starts to put two and two together, he realizes Lila Rossi’s treatment of one Marinette Dupain-Cheng is far worse that he’d ever imagined, and the high road is no longer (and frankly, may have never been) an option. He decides to take matters into his own hands. Game, Set, Match.
Tumblr media
Adrien woke the morning after the gala to a phone call.
It was before his alarm, and therefore before Adrien would be answering anything, so he declined the call, rolled over, and closed his eyes again, fully intent on going straight back to sleep.
It rang again.
“Adrien, please, turn off your phone,” Plagg whined, and Adrien grunted, declining the call again.
And, as Adrien expected, it rang again.
Plagg made a soft, disgruntled sound. “I’m going to eat your phone.”
Adrien sat up, brushing his mussed hair out of his sleepy eyes before picking up the phone and finally answering.
“Hello?”
“ADRIEN AGRESTE—”
Adrien pulled the phone an arm’s length away from his ear, startled completely awake by Alya’s shouting. She’d undoubtedly seen Jagged Stone’s livestream, and she indubitably didn’t like what she saw. Why she was awake and screaming at him before six in the morning, Adrien didn’t know, but she was making it very clear that this was his problem, and it was his problem now.
“—She never even TOLD ME—“
Adrien pulled the phone away again, exchanging a glance with Plagg before finally taking a deep breath and pressing the phone back to his ear.
“Alya,” he said, “calm down.”
“Calm do— CALM DOWN?! Don’t you tell me to calm down, you knew about all of this, didn’t you? That she… that SNAKE was lying to me? I can’t BELIEVE I thought Marinette was ever jealous. She knew all along, and I should have trusted her.”
Alya sounded like she was on the verge of tears, and Adrien couldn’t blame her. He’d been the one to tell Marinette to be the bigger person, and that hadn’t turned out well at all.
“Alya,” Adrien repeated, “I feel horrible, too. I told Marinette to take the high road, and Lila ended up bullying her—”
“Wait, wait, hold the ABSOLUTE phone, Agreste, Lila WHAT?! All Marinette said was thats she and Lila didn’t get along, but excuse me— you’re telling me that this BITCH has been bullying my best friend?”
“Yeah,” Adrien said miserably, “I overheard Lila in the locker room with Marinette. Threatening her, calling her names. It was horrible.”
“And you didn’t confront her?!”
Adrien sighed. “What do you think last night was? I couldn’t just tell her off in the locker room, she’d be onto me, no matter how badly I wanted to. I’ve talked to Lila about the lying before, but she never stops. I had to make it stick, and that meant being sneaky.”
Alya was silent for a second before she spoke again. “At LEAST tell me you comforted her. I dunno, gave her a hug, anything? Marinette is sensitive, something like that— going on for that long— oh, God.”
Her voice sounded equal parts miserable and exhausted, and Adrien knew how she felt. He’d felt the same when he finally realized what had been going on.
“Of course, I gave her a hug,” Adrien said, mildly indignant, “I’m not a monster.”
“God, her heart probably was on the verge of exploding.”
Adrien blinked. “What?”
“Nothing, never mind,” Alya said quickly, “I had an inkling of what was going on, Lila threatened Marinette in the bathroom a few months ago, but I stupidly thought she was stretching the truth a little. I believed her, though, I knew she’d never make something like that up. The way she said Lila was acting was… it was scary, Adrien. It seemed almost impossible that she could say those things, Lila always seems so… nice, so genuine.”
Alya scoffed, her voice tight, and angry, and so, so bitter. “But I guess that’s another one of her lies, isn’t it? I’ve been less inclusive of Lila since she makes Marinette uncomfortable, like, you know, not inviting Lila over, or just having time with me and Marinette, but she never told me that Lila was— oh my God, I’ve been such a bad friend.”
“No,” Adrien said, “Lila had everyone fooled. She’s a good liar, I’ll give her that. What matters now is being there for Marinette, I don’t doubt that Lila will try and take this out on her. We have to protect her.”
Adrien paused, “also, why are you calling me this early?”
Alya scoffed tearfully. “You think I got a wink of sleep after seeing that? All I could think about was how I didn’t believe Marinette, my best friend, when she was being bullied. I should’ve stuck with the feeling I got when I knew there was something she wasn’t telling me, because she so obviously wasn’t fine, Adrien, she must’ve felt so alone, and I should have believed her.”
“Then make it up to her,” Adrien said, “apologize, be a good friend, and call Lila out the second you see her at school.”
“Done and done. So much more than done,” Alya snarled, “I’m burying that girl in the fucking ground. She’s dead, Adrien, d-e-a-d, DEAD.”
And with that, she hung up, leaving Adrien sitting, dumbstruck in the darkness of his room.
“It is way too early for all of that,” grumbled Plagg, “what’d she even want, anyway?”
Adrien flopped down on the bed. “You probably heard most of that. She wasn’t exactly quiet. But I’m pretty sure Lila’s life is in danger.”
“Good,” the Kwami scoffed, “she deserves a little misfortune. You have no idea how crazy that girl was driving me.”
Adrien chuckled dryly. “I may have an inkling.”
Plagg fell asleep again in a few seconds, but Adrien wasn’t able to, so he got out of bed and got ready for his morning workout routine. After said routine, he took a shower, longer than usual since he had the time. He was even able to watch a few of his favorite compilation videos of Ladybug before Nathalie came upstairs to fetch him for breakfast.
Said meal passed uneventfully, with little conversation between Adrien and his father. Adrien was still annoyed with him for inviting Lila as his date without running it past him, so that was fine by him. It was only when he was getting into the car to go to school that Nathalie told him he was no longer to associate with Lila Rossi, and that she was no longer welcome in the house.
Adrien pretended to be confused, and when asked why that was, Nathalie simply told him it was ‘bad for PR’ before shutting the car door. Regardless, Adrien accepted the verdict, much more easily than Nathalie expected, Adrien gathered, from her perplexed expression.
That, Adrien decided, was something he could live with.
Tumblr media
He was barely in his seat before everything went sideways, and the bell hadn’t even rang yet.
“Dude, what was that?” Nino cried, sliding into the seat beside him, “the class chat is going insane, haven’t you seen any of it?”
“Adrien, we need to talk,” Came Alya’s voice, from somewhere over Adrien’s shoulder.
“No,” Adrien said, turning to Nino, “I haven’t looked at the class chat, I had it muted since last night at the gala since it’s not exactly good etiquette to  have your phone buzzing nonstop. And we will talk, Alya.”
Alya looked like she hadn’t slept, and, from what she’d told Adrien, she hadn’t. Her hair was unwashed, tossed into a ponytail, and there were dark circles under her eyes. She looked a bit like she’d gotten dressed in the dark, or, and Adrien didn’t at all blame her if this were the case, she just didn’t care about looking nice today. She had ass to kick, and nobody said there was a dress code for that.
In Adrien’s case, ass kicking, as well as anything that he considered a good time, involved black leather, as well as tossing himself from building to building and hitting things with a stick, but that was just him.
“I can’t believe that she’s been lying,” Nino sighed, clearly wounded, “all this time, to all of us. What else has she— and with the bullying— How deep does it go? Has she ever told the truth at all?”
Alya scoffed. “Fat chance of that.”
The conversation was interrupted by the arrival Marinette, who seemed just a little more upbeat than she had been the day previous. She’d clearly seen the class chat, and with how big of a fan Adrien knew she was of Jagged Stone, she’d undoubtedly seen the stream. Furthermore, she was more than smart enough to know what Adrien had been doing.
Alya sprang from her seat like she’d been ejected from it, tugging Marinette into a fierce hug. The other girl started, but she hugged her best friend back.
“I’m so sorry,” Alya muttered into Marinette’s shoulder, “I’m so sorry that I didn’t believe you, if you don’t forgive, me I understand, I—”
“Alya,” Marinette said softly, her expression blissfully happy, “no, stop, I forgive you. For her credit, she was a good liar. But— I expect you to buy me a whole box of macarons. Y’know, to make it up to me. And I get to pick the movies we watch, for a whole month.”
“Done,” Alya said in an instant, her relief clear in her voice, “super done.”
Adrien decided not to mention that Marinette lived above a bakery, as that would ruin a sweet moment, and that was the last thing he wanted.
“God, M, why didn’t you tell me?” Alya sighed, and Marinette shrugged.
“I dunno, I thought maybe I was being dramatic, and I— I wanted to solve it myself. So I just said that we didn’t get along.”
Alya scoffed. “I was an idiot to have believed that. But I was an even bigger idiot to have believed Lila.”
“Is Lila even here today?” Adrien asked, and Nino chuckled bitterly.
“She’s here,” he said, leaning back in his seat and folding his hands behind his head, “hiding out somewhere, who knows. Little miss pants-on-fire probably wants to do damage control. Not that there’s anything left for her to control. She’s already been removed from the class chat. She’s done-zo, man.”
Adrien tilted his head. “How do you know she’s here? Did you see her?”
Nino chuckled. “Yeah, on my way in. She kept her head down, didn’t look at anyone. I didn’t approach; she isn’t worth my time. Marinette, for what it’s worth, I’m super sorry, too. I should’ve believed you. If there’s anything I can do to make it up, let me know, yeah?”
Marinette smiled, her cheeks gently pink, and she nodded.
“From now on,” Alya said, resting her head on Marinette’s shoulder, “I listen to you. Not some fake bitch with a fake life, girl. And you’re totally allowed to be mad at me, I was a horrible friend.”
The next ten or so minutes was full of apologies from classmates as they arrived, sans Chloé, who, of course, loudly claimed she knew Lila was lying the entire time, a declaration that convinced no one, earning a chorus of exasperated groans. Rose, contrastingly, burst into tears, with not even Marinette’s repeated assurances that she was forgiven providing any comfort. She finally stopped wailing after Juleka peppered her face with kisses, her hiccuping sobs turning into delighted giggles.
It was when Lila Rossi herself entered the classroom that everyone went silent.
Adrien’s eyes passed across his classmates, taking in the downright venomous looks they were giving Lila, but none of those held a candle to Alya. The expression on her face was something Adrien could only describe as apocalyptic fury, her eyes blazing behind her spectacles, her lip curled back to reveal her teeth in a menacing snarl. She probably would have already pounced on Lila if Nino wasn’t physically holding her back from doing so.
“You have some nerve—“ Alya started, but Nino clapped a hand over her mouth, much to her fury.
Lila barely acknowledged the other girl’s anger, her face a perfect mask of impassive and casual, a polite smile glued to her lips. She seemed completely nonplussed by the eyes on her, infuriatingly nonchalant, and if Alya was kept back any longer, Adrien was pretty sure she was going to start foaming at the mouth.
“Oh, Marinette,” Lila said, as though she’d just remembered something while she placed her things down at her desk, “can we talk? It’s nothing big, I promise.”
Marinette shrank in on herself, halfway hiding behind Adrien where he stood beside her.
Softly, and low enough that nobody else could hear, Adrian leaned over to her, just a little, to speak into her ear.
“Say yes,” he whispered, “don’t worry, I’ve got a plan. I’ll be right there with you.”
Marinette looked like she was about to bust into a million pieces, her face the color of a boiled lobster, but she nodded, straightening back up to her full height. A mask of calm slipped over her face, all the worry and fear previously in her expression melting away as if it was never there at all. She was suddenly the picture of confidence, and as Adrien studied her, he realized that this somehow seemed…
Familiar.
“Okay,” Marinette said, her voice even and calm, “I’ll bite. The locker room, in say, five minutes?”
Lila giggled, and something passed behind her eyes, something that made shivers rake down Adrien’s spine. But, just as quick as it appeared, it was gone. Adrien swallowed the swell of unease that caught in his throat, keeping his face blank.
“Sure,” Lila said, pleasant as ever, “Locker room. It’s a date.”
And with that, she turned on her heel, disappearing through the classroom door.
“I have a plan,” Adrien said, after a few seconds of tense silence had passed.
Alya yanked Nino’s hand away from her face. “If that plan involves strangling her, I’m all in.”
“No,” Adrien said, “but it does involve dealing the final blow, if you’re interested in that.”
Alya smirked. “Since when have you been so devious, Agreste?”
“Since someone started bullying my friend.”
And since the high road didn’t work, I’m fighting dirty.
Alya seemed to approve of this. “Okay, okay. Now, what’s the plan?”
Tumblr media
The plan was simple. And it all started with Marinette.
Adrien walked alongside her down the hallway, his hand resting on the small of her back to try and soothe her unease, but that only seemed to make her more tense. The mask of confidence hadn’t slipped, but he could tell she wasn’t looking forward to confronting Lila, even with a friend alongside her.
Marinette stepped into the locker room before Adrien did, and the second she did, Adrien heard a heavy thud, and then a gasp of pain.
He’d never burst a door open so quickly in his life.
There was Lila, her face so different from what she usually looked like that she was almost unrecognizable. There was no hint of her usual kindness or soft, silly humor, or the ever present sparkle of sly mischief only visible to those who really looked. Her lips were curled back an a cold, unfriendly sneer, with teeth bared like she was a predator who had caught its prey. And her eyes…
There was nothing behind those eyes.
And that was what scared Adrien the most. Because now, though some small part of him suspected it before, he knew that Lila felt absolutely nothing for the people she hurt. She didn’t do this because she wanted people to like her. She didn’t do this for any conceivable reason that any regular pathological liar would; because she couldn’t help it. Lila Rossi lied because she could, for her own personal gain and for the pleasure she got from doing so. She was a master manipulator. This was a game to her, and she hated to lose.
She simply found joy in tormenting those who kept her from getting what she wanted.
And Adrien thought Hawkmoth was a monster. Lila Rossi didn’t need superpowers for that.
Lila’s fist was clenched at her side, the other drawn back, but then there was Marinette, sitting on her knees and clutching her cheek, and Adrien knew what she’d just done, what line Lila had crossed, and he didn’t even know if it was the first time she’d done so. With a rage he’d never experienced before, Adrien stalked forward to stand in front of Marinette, using his superior height to tower over Lila, staring down his nose at her, his disgust crystal clear on his face.
The emptiness in Lila’s eyes was rapidly replaced with false shock, then fear, and betrayal, and Adrien had no idea how she was so good at pretending to feel after she’d just struck someone in the face with a closed fist, after she had spent her entire time in France making false friendships and hurting everyone she spoke to. He wondered with bitter bemusement what ludicrous lie she was going to use, what she could possibly say in order to get out of this situation.
Adrien expected her to lie. He didn’t expect her to launch herself into his arms, crocodile tears tracing her cheeks, with false, hiccuping sobs shaking her narrow shoulders. He didn’t expect her to cling onto him like he was her saving grace, her manicured nails digging into his skin through his shirt as she held onto him with a vice grip.
“Oh, Adrien,” she wailed, her voice full of sorrow, “Marinette hit me, she just hauled off and hit me! I just needed some help with—”
Everything slowed down. Adrien had been nice to this girl. He’d been good to her, given her the benefit of the doubt, tried to give her every chance in the world for a shred of retribution, to try and prove that she was better than this, that she could be happy without building herself a fragile, falsified house of cards. He tried. And she went and hurt the people he cared about.
Adrien was done. He was done being nice. He was done letting her stoke him like he was an animal in a petting zoo whenever she felt like it, putting her hands where they were very much not welcome, and he was done being polite about refusing her advances, or chucking awkwardly as he pushed her hands away from his body, only to be forced to endure again, and again, and again.
You know what they say about a house of cards. All it takes is a single push to make it all fall down. This was Adrien’s push.
“That’s enough, Lila,” he said, with no hint of malice in his voice, “you can stop now.”
She looked up at him with watery eyes, her face the perfect imitation of someone who was so utterly betrayed, but Adrien was not buying it. He knew what she really looked like now.
“S-stop?” She hiccuped, “stop what? Adrien, please, Marinette, she’s been bullying me since I got here, I know she hates me, and she set you up last night, right? She put you up to all that— that stupidity. Just tell me that’s what happened, and I’ll forgive you, Adrien.”
Adrien shook his head, face still calm. “No, Lila. That isn’t what happened. You know that.”
Her eyes grew frantic. “Y-yes, yes it is! She put you up to that, and you didn’t mean it.”
“Lila. Listen to me—”
“YOU DIDN’T MEAN IT.”
Adrien knew exactly what she was doing. She was seriously, after he knew every single breath she took was a lie, trying to gaslight him. Had she done this to Marinette? The mere thought of it made his anger swell to dangerous levels.
“You wouldn’t do that to me, would you? You wouldn’t want to hurt me.”
Guilt tripping, gaslighting, what else was she going to try? Adrien may as well have been a statue, his expression just as stony as one. His eyes remained fixed on her face, unimpressed, the only indication that he was even listening to her being his eyebrows as they rose into his hairline.
“Lila, stop,” he said, finally, gently pushing her off of him, “that’s enough. No more games. No more nothing. Nobody slandered you, either. Nobody told the entire student body that you were best friends with Ladybug, or that you saved Jagged Stone’s cat, or that you got an expensive necklace from the prince of Achu. You did. All I did, all anyone did, was believe you.”
Lila blinked back her false tears, still trying to sell the wounded victim act, but the only thing it accomplished was making Adrien angrier.
“Just tell me you didn’t mean it,” she whimpered, as if she hadn’t heard what Adrien had just said, “you didn’t mean to force me to be on that livestream. You didn’t, right?”
Adrien started at her, perplexed and mildly amused. “Lila, I didn’t put you on livestream. Jagged Stone did. I didn’t tell him to do that. I don’t control him. You got yourself into this mess by lying, I did not do this to you. Stop looking for people to blame, and take a look in a damn mirror. I’m done with this, I’m done with you.”
He stepped forward, forcing her to take a step back, her tearful expression flickering, but Adrien didn’t care. He was on a roll.
“Because you don’t just lie, Lila. You hurt people. You enjoy hurting people, and that is sick. Something is wrong with you for enjoying tormenting others,” Adrien spat, the temperature of his voice dropping into single digits. “You bullied Marinette because what, she didn’t believe your lies? She saw through you? You felt the need to hurt her, someone sweet, and kind, and just purely good because of a stupid reason like that? Of course you did. To protect your falsified reputation, you took it out on her.”
Lila shook her head rapidly, and Adrien was mildly impressed she was continuing the charade. Her dedication to her act was admirable, even if it was for the wrong reasons.
“No!” She cried, “Adrien, I love you, don’t you know that? I’ve been in love with you since I first saw you. Marinette has been bullying me because she—”
“Save it,” Adrien interjected, “don’t you even try it. If you think I will believe a word you say you’ve got another thing coming. I gave you several chances, because I hate believing that someone is completely bad, and I hoped to God that you weren’t always a horrible liar, that just maybe you could change, but I was wrong. You’re worse than a liar. You’re a bully. And I will not be friends with someone like that, ever.”
Several emotions passed over Lila’s face, and Adrien thought that this might be his first glimpse of what she really felt. He could see the mental gymnastics going at the speed of light behind her eyes as she wiped at her face with the heels of her hands, raising her gaze to meet his once more.
“Does it even matter to you that I just told you I love you?”
Adrien stared at her, and before he could open his mouth to speak, Marinette did it for him.
“Love?” She said, her voice wobbly with emotions, but the scorn interlaced into her tone was almost palpable, “don’t make me laugh, Lila. You don’t lie and manipulate and gaslight someone you love. This is you, seeking control. Because that’s what you want, right? You don’t want love, you want someone you can break down into whatever you want, someone you can own. That isn’t love.”
“Don’t listen to her, Adrien!” Lila sobbed, “I do, love you, I do! You know I do. I love you more than anything.”
Adrien shook his head, his lips pressed together in a firm line. “No. Marinette’s right. This isn’t love, Lila. You need to stop. That’s enough.”
The tears stopped. It was so abrupt it was like someone had flipped a switch, and Lila stood terrifyingly still for a handful of seconds before a new emotion overtook her face.
Rage.
In a flash, she was on Marinette again, screaming profanities and insults, and Adrien rushed forward, past caring about being gentle as he yanked her off of his friend. She was fast, though, as she was suddenly on him, shoving him into the lockers, his back hitting the one of the metal handles with a painful clang that would undoubtedly leave a nasty bruise. Lila’s face was a twisted, feral grimace, her eyes swirling with selfish rage, her breath expelling out from between her grit teeth in seething bursts.
“Fine,” she snarled, “I lied. Yeah, maybe I do like fucking with idiots like Marinette. People like her, with those big, stupid soft hearts, it’s the most fun to watch them crack. To watch them fall into despair, wondering ‘why me’ when there isn’t any reason other than I felt like it. Everyone worships me. I tell those stupid sycophants what they want to hear to get things to go my way. Is it so wrong to want to be in control?”
Lila was unrecognizable, her eyes a horrifying concoction of mania and malice, her mouth split open into a wide, wolfish grin. Her hands were wrapped around Adrien’s upper arms, her nails cutting through his shirt painfully, and she leaned in until her nose was nearly pressed to his.
“Liar Lila, that’s what you wanted to hear, right?” She sneered, “well, I can lie some more. I can ruin you, Adrien Agreste. You’re going to regret siding with her. Watch me tell the principal, the police, that you and that bitch jumped me, a poor, defenseless girl. Watch me tell ruin your spotless reputation, watch me say you touched me. They’ll believe me. I know they will. Because if they don’t, they’re blaming the victim. I hope you liked school, Adrien, or having friends, or fans, or respect. You and Marinette deserve each other. You can be pariahs together.”
Adrien remained unfazed, despite the severity of her threats. In fact, he smiled. And as his grin grew wider, as did the confusion on Lila’s face.
“Why the fuck are you—”
“Alya,” Adrien said, “now’s good.”
The shutter of a camera went off like a gunshot, and Lila’s eyes went wide with horror as she jolted back and away from Adrien like he’d burned her.
“Nah,” Alya said as she finally, finally stepped into the room, “that’s it for you, miss pants-on-fire.”
Adrien watched Alya’s eyes roll as Lila’s eyes welled up with tears again.
“Alya!” She cried, “I was just defending—”
Alya rolled her neck, then her shoulders as she stepped forward, phone in her hand, undoubtedly recording.
“You,” Alya said, her voice dripping with tranquil fury, “can shut the hell up.”
“You don’t understand, Marinette isn’t your friend, she lied to you, I—”
Alya moved more quickly than Adrien had ever seen her move, shoving her phone into her pocket, the blink of the red light telling Adrien the phone was still recording audio.
“Oh my God, Lila, shut up,” Alya spat, her voice saturated with venom. “Didn’t I just tell you to shut up? You what? You lied? You bullied my best friend? Don’t you dare talk to me about Marinette, you two-faced, back stabbing cockroach. I thought we were friends. I can’t believe I ever thought a single word out of your filthy mouth was the truth. You played me and the entire fucking class for a fool, and you will regret that.”
The visage of a helpless, tormented girl drained from Lila’s face in an instant, replaced with her sneer, and she squared her shoulders, stepping towards Alya.
“Regret what? Your friend made herself an easy target. And she’s already so sensitive that—”
Alya did something Adrien was expecting her to do, but it still surprised him nonetheless: she hauled back, and in a flash, she slapped Lila across the face. The impact of the strike sent Lila stumbling back, her eyes wide as her hand rose to cup her cheek. She was stunned to silence, both from the slap and from the terrifying fury rolling off of Alya in crashing waves. Her face had given way to bug-eyed shock, her jaw slack, opposite arm limp by her side. If Adrien didn’t know any better, he’d think that this had never happened to Lila before: she’d never had to face the ramifications of her actions. And Hell hath no fury like an Alya scorned.
“I am talking,” Alya snarled, “mouth closed, attention please.”
Helpless, Lila nodded.
“Like, seriously?” Alya said, waving her hands around in indignation, “and I thought Chloé was bad, but she looks like a fucking humanitarian compared to you. I can’t believe I ever put you on my blog in a positive light. I hope you know that this recording is going to every goddamn person in school. Hell, maybe I’ll post it to the school website, maybe my blog. You know what, I think I’ll do just that. Maybe even Adrien’s fan page. I’ve sure the people over there would love to hear you threatening him. And don’t even think of speaking a single word unless it’s an apology to Marinette. Everyone has had enough of you.”
At last, Adrien saw the first genuine flicker of fear in Lila’s eyes. She backed up further, roles swapped drastically from predator to trapped prey as Alya stalked towards her like she was about to devour her whole, and if she wasn’t stopped, she probably would. But Adrien wasn’t going to stop her.
“Apologize,” Alya said, no, ordered, “by tonight. I’ll have Max add you back to the class chat, just for a little bit. Own up to all your shit, apologize to Marinette, tell everyone what you did, or I will do it for you. And if you ever touch another hair on Marinette’s head ever again, you know you’ll have me to worry about. Now get out of my sight.”
Lila stood still. Her eyes were wide with shock, her jaw clenching and unclenching as she her gaze passed from Alya, to Marinette, then finally landing on Adrien. He stared back at her, expression frosty. She would get no more help, no more second chances from him. Genuine, defeated tears welled up in her eyes, no more of the play acting dramatics to be found as she swallowed back a sob. Without another word, Lila turned, keeping her head down, and ran out of the room.
Silence. It was quiet enough in the locker room to hear a pin drop, interrupted only by the rhythmic sound of Alya’s labored breathing as she tried and failed to calm down. Adrien turned to face her, and watched as tears of her own beaded at her lash line, reappearing even as she blinked them back. She wiped her face furiously before reaching down to end the recording on her phone. In a few taps, Adrien’s phone buzzed, undoubtedly with the audio recording that had just been taken.
“Adrien,” Alya said, “thank you.”
Adrien looked back at her, puzzled. “What for?”
“Sticking up for her, dumbass. Sorry I called you a dumbass,” Alya sniffled. “I mean, thank you for seeing through Lila’s tricks, for supporting Marinette when I—”
Alya bit back another sob, and Adrien wanted to step forward, to try and offer some form of comfort, but she held her hand up.
“I’m not the important one, here,” Alya said, “Marinette is.”
Adrien turned towards where Marinette was sitting, still on her knees, her arms wrapped around herself. Her left cheek was red, undoubtedly in the early stages of a forming bruise. Tears were welling up in her eyes, too, but she wasn’t bothering to brush them away, letting them spill down her cheeks in soundless cries, but Adrien could tell that among the cacophony of stentorian emotions that were thundering in her head, that one in particular was present beyond a shadow of a doubt: relief.
Kneeling beside her and pulling her forwards and into his arms felt as natural as breathing, and the second he was touching her, it was like a dam broke. It was like everything was hitting her at once, with soft, sniffling sobs spilling out as she finally just let it hurt. She pulled Adrien closer to her, burying her head in the crook off his neck, a spot where it fit like it was always meant to be.
“You’re okay, now,” Adrien whispered, and she clung to him more tightly, “she can’t hurt you again. I won’t let her.”
Marinette let out a gasping sob as her fingers curled into the cloth of Adrien’s shirt, just to hold onto something, and he let her, rubbing soothing circles into the small of her back with one hand as his opposite arm wrapped securely around her shoulders, holding her close.
Adrien smiled when he felt Alya move in, wrapping her arms around the both of them, pressing a soft, affectionate kiss to the crown of Marinette’s head, whispering her apologies and promises to do better into the midnight of her hair, and Marinette lifted her chin, leaning up to press her forehead against her best friend’s.
Alya quietly excused herself after that, undoubtedly to upload the audio recording she’d just taken to every social media platform she had an account with, leaving Marinette with Adrien as he continued to whisper words of comfort. She cried for a long time, and Adrien’s heart hurt for her. He knew what it felt like to be alone, to be helpless. Marinette didn’t deserve to feel that way, nobody did.
He wondered if Ladybug ever felt this way. She was always so strong and confident. He didn’t think he’d ever seen her cry, not that any part of Marinette was weak for crying, it was human to cry. Even if Adrien had never seen Ladybug cry, he knew she probably did. It made his heart, his entire soul ache, just the thought of his lady being sad or lonely. The thoughts of her and the beautiful girl in his arms blurred together, and, without even thinking, the words just… slipped out.
“It’s gonna be okay, bugaboo.”
Adrien hadn’t even realized he’d said anything until a few seconds had passed, and Marinette was staring up at him with wide, shocked, teary eyes, an odd mix of recognition and utter befuddlement intertwining behind her bluebell hues.
“You—” She sniffled, “you called me— You called me ‘bugaboo.’”
For all of Adrien’s eloquence, manners, and high society etiquette, he had no idea what to say to that.
He stared back at her like a deer in the headlights, his eyes wide and terrified because he was truly fucked. He’d slipped up, and there was no Ladybug to put things back the way they were, nobody to backpedal and make Marinette forget that he’d just Freudian slipped while she was crying in his arms and he was trying to be comforting— Oh God, Plagg was going to tease him about this for the rest of time.
“I—” Adrien floundered, “j-just uh, forget—”
“N-no,” Marinette said, suddenly panicking, more tears welling up, “no, no that can’t be right, nobody calls me that— I mean nobody calls me that— Unless— Except…”
Adrien had no idea what she thought she knew, or what she was even talking about, but he watched as realization rapidly dawned on her, realization that was completely lost on him.
Her voice was thick with emotion when she finally spoke, a watery smile spreading across her lips, her eyes glossy with unshed tears.
“I thought,” she said, her voice adopting a laughing edge, despite her tears, “I told you not to call me that.”
Adrien stared back at her blankly. What did she—
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
There it was.
It was hitting him like a big semi truck, knocking him flat on his back like a fifty foot tidal wave.
Because it was so fucking obvious.
All those times Marinette seemed to pop up just after Ladybug vanished, how she seemed to know things only Marinette knew, why she got so bent out of shape when Lila claimed that Ladybug was her best friend. Or why Adrien always had a particular fondness for the constellations of freckles on Marinette’s face, just as he did with Ladybug’s. Why Ladybug always adopted Marinette’s stammer when she spoke to him in his civilian form.
It all made sense. All of Plagg’s weird double entendres, all of the winking and nudging his Kwami did when regarding both Ladybug and Marinette.
The confidence she wore like a second skin, her grace and poise and sass that Adrien always told himself was just a coincidence because he saw Ladybug in everything. The way Marinette’s smile reminded him of the same heaven that Ladybug’s did, and again, it had to be a coincidence, because it had to be another cruel trick of Adrien’s chronic bad luck if his lady was here, right in front of him, all along.
Marinette. Marinette. Marinette.
Tears of his own welled up in Adrien’s eyes as he stared at her, awestruck and punch drunk in love as he raised a palm to cup her face, so gingerly, like she was made of glass and precious jewels.
“You,” he whispered, voice drawn taut with emotion, “you. You’re my lady.”
Marinette’s eyes darted away, even though she leaned into his touch, betraying her own hesitance.
“A-are you disappointed it’s me?”
Adrien laughed. He didn’t mean to, but the notion that Marinette Dupain-Cheng could ever be in the same sentence with the word ‘disappointing’ was laughable. Among all of Adrien’s firm admissions that Marinette was just a friend, he saw her as a cut above the rest. Nino was his friend. Marinette was Marinette. She was talented, beautiful, and kinder than anyone he’d ever met in his life. Internally, he’d been struggling for his slowly growing feelings for her, alongside the ones he had for Ladybug for so long he’d grown tired of trying to suppress them.
Being disappointed it was her was absolutely laughable.
“Disappointed?” Adrien parroted, “God, no. No, Marinette, I’m glad it’s you. There’s nobody else I’d rather have as my lady. I’ve loved you since— Since the moment I laid eyes on you. Every waking moment has been thoughts of you, but I understand you’re in love with another boy. I value you as my friend before all of that, I’d rather you be happy and remain in my life than force my feelings on you. It’s Luka, isn’t it? He’s a great guy, and—”
It was Marinette’s turn to laugh, and Adrien blinked at her, almost owlishly.
“Silly, oblivious kitty. So dense.”
Adrien stared, affronted. “Me-ouch.”
“It’s you.” She said, blinking back tears, “Adrien, the boy I love, the one I kept rejecting you for, is you. I’ve been crazy, insane, stupid for you ever since that thing with the umbrella, the day we met. I love you so much that all I think about is you, all I want is you. I’ve tried dating, and sure Luka is wonderful. But he wasn’t you, and as much as I care about Luka, it just doesn’t feel right. I’ve wanted you since day one, Adrien Agreste.”
It took Adrien’s brain a few seconds to catch up with her words, because things like this didn’t happen to him. He was waiting for her to laugh her signature nervous Marinette laugh, speedily telling him she was joking, or for his alarm clock to wake him up, or for anything at all to interrupt this, but he blinked, squeezing his eyes shut once, twice, and his lady remained, enfolded in his arms, those incredible eyes still fixed on his face, a soft, painfully endearing smile playing at her lips.
This was real. She was real.
“I—” Adrien gasped, at a loss for words, “I— you—”
“Yeah,” Marinette giggled, tearfully, “I love you, too, you stupid cat.”
In that moment, after everything Adrien had been through, it all felt like nothing at all, no more than fleeting moments, because here she was, in his arms, telling him what he’d wanted to hear for two years, telling him she loved him just as much, just as fiercely as he loved her. All this time, they’d been chasing each other’s shadows, so desperately smitten with one another that nobody could hold even half a candle.
Adrien made a sound that was an odd mix of a laugh and a sob as he pulled her achingly tight against him, tucking her head into the crook of his neck, reveling in the way she fit against him like she was made to, how soft her skin was, how she smelled like sweet sugar and freshly baked dough. She was perfect to him, with all her flaws and misgivings, they were and always had been something he could more than happily live with, as Ladybug or as Marinette.
“Please,” Adrien whispered into her hair, “can I kiss you, Marinette?”
Marinette stiffened, her face luminescent. “If want to— I mean, if you don’t— I mean—”
Adrien chuckled warmly, his heart seizing in his chest. “Never change, Marinette.”
One of his hands slid down her cheek to find her chin, tilting her face up, and he watched her eyes flutter closed as he leaned in, slowly, finally meeting her lips with his own. It was like everything he’d ever held back was spilling out, a symphony of emotion and sensation and pure, perfect adoration. One of Adrien’s hands slid down to lace into the wisps of hair at the base of her skull, the other cupping her cheek, his thumb smoothing over the gentle curve of her cheekbone, and he could feel her in his blood, thundering through his heart, consuming him whole.
Adrien angled his head to deepen the kiss, pulling back just slightly only to dive back in, kissing her with everything he had, and she was giving back just as much, clinging onto him, her fingers in his hair, and her touch felt like perfection incarnate, like everything he’d ever been missing.
They pulled apart only with great reluctance, resting their foreheads together, blissfully happy and oh so in love.
“Hey, Miss Busiter is looking for—”
Alya’s voice tore them from their focus on one another, but they didn’t separate, even as Alya stared at them with wide eyes, a slow, bordering on manic grin appearing on her face.
“Oh, my God,” she hollered, “it is about damn time.”
Marinette floundered in a way that Adrien could now call utterly adorable without forcing the word platonic down his own throat, making him smile like a total dope, pulling her tighter.
“A-Alya!” She cried, wiping her remaining tears with the back of her hand, “I— we were just—”
“She knows what we were doing,” Adrien laughed, his smile widening when Alya, characteristically, snapped a photo of them still pressed close together.
Marinette sighed. “Yeah, well, that’s… Gonna take some getting used to. Yeah, Alya, this is exactly what it looks like.”
“As much as I’d love, and I mean love to celebrate,” Alya said, her grin earsplitting, “you two are still students. You can hold hands and cuddle and all that after school. Oh my God, Marinette, we can go on double dates! This is so great! We— We’ll talk about it later.”
Marinette laughed, the first truly genuine laugh Adrien had heard from her in weeks, and it made his heart do a funny, jumpy thing in his chest, his stomach twisting into knots. He should have realized who she was earlier from her laugh alone. Unable to bear to let go of her, Adrien kept their hands intertwined as they stood up from the floor, legs stiff from sitting for so long, but they hardly cared about that, not now.
Because everything, every bit of pain was worth it, if it meant being with her. And from the dreamy, adorably dorky way she was staring at him, Adrien was absolutely positive she felt the same.
The classroom erupted into cheers when Adrien and Marinette entered with their hands joined, their proximity far too close to be any kind of platonic, and during break, when Marinette finally asked Adrien to a movie without putting her foot in her mouth, Alya clapped her on the back so hard she went toppling forwards.
But that was fine. Adrien was there to help her up.
They got that double date, Nino and Alya dragging them to some cheesy horror flick that ended up being more funny than scary, and even when Marinette did get spooked at the odd spooky scene, Adrien was there to smooth his thumb over her knuckles. He was there for her. And if Lila came back, as she absolutely would, Adrien would be there, too. She was far from done, and Adrien knew that. He’d done enough damage to send her off for a good while to lick her wounds, but he knew there was only a matter of time before she popped back up like a particularly contagious chest cold. Only this time, they’d be ready.
And Adrien would never let her hurt his lady ever again. That was a promise. So was the absolute pure, sparkling elation they both felt as Adrien walked Marinette home, hand in hand, the setting sun on their backs, blissfully happy.
Adrien Agreste was walking on sunshine all the way home.

Crashed Dates (Day 2: Scarecrow)
Marinette grins at her boyfriend, swinging their intertwined hands back and forth as they walk around the pumpkin farm. It was so nice, finally being able to go on cute dates like this. They’d first started dating while he was in Paris on business, around a year ago. Sure, he’d made trips to Paris and she’d made a few to Metropolis, but it was different now that she had moved to Gotham. Now they were able to go on random, unplanned dates, instead of dates that had been planned for weeks. He was definitely worried when she first told him she was moving to Gotham, but she had reassured him that it would be fine. (Not that she had a choice in the matter, Tikki had informed her on her last trip to Metropolis that Gotham was sick, that it was calling out for help and that as the Guardian, it was her job to help it). Gotham was….interesting, but she’d settled in just fine in the two weeks she’d been there.
And so, when he had called her out of the blue to tell her he found a place he thought she’d love, she made sure she had enough layers and jumped at the chance for a day with him. So far, the day had been absolutely perfect. They’d drank hot apple cider, ate warm donuts, taken a trip around the farm on the hayride- everything was great. But for some reason, her amazingly stubborn boyfriend didn’t want to go into the corn maze.
“Please! You’ll be my favorite person in the whole world.” She begs again, her grin quickly switching into a pout. She keeps pouting, leaning against his arm, until he sighs.
“Fine, we can do the maze.” He says and she cheers, standing on her toes and tugging him down slightly to give him a quick kiss.
“You are the best!” She says, over enunciating every word. He just grins, giving her another soft kiss.
“If we get lost, I’m calling the Demon Spawn to come get us out. Pretty sure he has a tracker on my phone.” Jason says, letting her tug him along towards the maze. She just rolls her eyes, grinning.
“You know you’re secretly touched that he cares enough to track you.” She teases as they near the entrance of the maze.
“Yeah, yeah.” He grumbles, glaring at the scarecrow situated at the entrance of the maze. Marinette raises an eyebrow.
“You have a problem with men made of straw?” She asks, legitimately confused by his reaction.
“Geeze M, I knew you were new to Gotham but I forget how new.” He says, pulling her closer. She melts into him, still confused by his reaction, but happy to be close. As they walk through the maze, frustratingly running into deadends, Jason explains Scarecrow. Marinette decides that he’s number two on the list of villains she never wants to meet. Joker is number one. (Joker is also number one on the list of villains she wants to meet, but that’s because she’s always wondered what it would look like to cataclysm a psychotic clown). She’s just about to suggest they call Damian and utilize the tracker that was, undoubtedly on Jason’s phone, when the screaming begins.
“There isn’t a haunted house here, is there.” Marinette says, her face pale. She wasn’t ready to be a hero again. She’d only defeated Hawkmoth a year ago. Just before meeting Jason. She didn’t want that part of her life again, not now.
“No, no there’s not.” Jason says, eyes glancing around wildly. Marinette’s heart breaks at the panic on his face. She knew that, despite his tough guy appearance, he struggled. A lot. He had nightmares, constantly, mostly of the time Joker had kidnapped him (hence the whole, cataclysm Joker thing). Pushing down her own fear and doubt, she tightens her grip on his hand and squares her shoulders.
“Come on.” She instructs, tugging him behind her as she darts through the maze, determined to get out. She stumbles over a rock and lets go of Jason’s hand in time for her to fall into a larger clearing. She curses as she falls, her palms stinging.
“What have we here?” A voice says. Marinette sits up, staring up at a man in a scarecrow costume and suddenly, Jason’s fear, or rather, dislike, of scarecrows makes more sense. So much more sense. She glances around and lets out a sigh of relief. She’d let go of Jason quick enough. He wasn’t caught up in this. Hopefully, he could call his father. She wasn’t sure if the rumors about Bruce Wayne and Batman dating were true, but Batman was always quick to interfere if it was a Wayne or Wayne adjacent involved.
“A girl who’s a little pissed that you crashed her date.” She retorts, standing up and brushing her stinging palms off on her jeans. She’d have to get the blood out later, which would be a pain. Better than having the blood on her palms mix with the dirt that also now covered her hands.
“You’re either very brave or very stupid, little girl. Let’s see how you deal with my newest strain of fear toxin.” He says, and she lunges towards the man, not willing to go down without a fight. Almost immediately, a sharp pinch on her neck has her stumbling back away from the man as she tries to take in her new surroundings.
She was back in Paris, but it wasn’t the Paris she had left. The city that was healing. Instead this Paris was underwater. Buildings were toppled over, and the moon was in pieces in the sky. She was back there. A place she hadn’t seen in person since she was fourteen, a place that had haunted her nightmares for ten years. She inhales sharply when she sees him. Chat Blanc. But instead of fear, she’s just angry. This isn’t real. It can’t be. Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir. And Adrien was….turning, she realizes that she can almost see him. Out of the corner of her eye, she can almost see Scarecrow, watching her. Waiting for her to react. Anger coursing through her, she charges the man, tackling him all the way to the ground. She pulls back her fist and punches him, repeatedly.
“How dare you! How dare you use his face like that! You son of a bitch!” She screams as she hits, the roaring in her ears blocking out all other sounds. She keeps her focus on feeling the man she’s hitting, because the second she lets her focus wander, she gets sucked into her surroundings again. The way the sky just looks wrong. The odd haze over everything. And now, the corpses floating in the water closest to her. Adrien. Maman. Papa. She’s not scared, she’s pissed. Sure, those were her biggest fears and that’s definitely why she was seeing them all like that, but she’d already seen it. She’s lived it. They were gone, not coming back. And she sure as hell wasn’t going to fall down and break about it. Not when some asshole with fear toxin was running around randomly injecting people. Suddenly, something is wrapped around her and she’s pulled up. She kicks frantically, trying to get out of the steel grip she’s trapped in. She had to- what did she have to do? Another sharp pinch in her neck makes her eyes droop sleepily. She struggles again, barely able to hear the voice calling her name as she succumbs to the darkness.
---
Jason Todd feels like a major prick. He watched his girlfriend trip and instead of helping her up, he uses it as a distraction to try and call B. How the fuck was he supposed to know she tripped right into the Scarecrow? He’s cursing himself mentally as he rushes towards the ambulance. Replacement had texted him.
Marinette was injected. At ambulances near front of farm
And Jason felt like shit. She’d never forgive him, not that he deserved it. He’d left her with one of Gotham’s biggest villains. His heart sinks when he sees the blood on her, and the oxygen mask attached to her face. Fuck. He’s almost to her, when one of the asshole cops stops him.
“Excuse me, sir, you can’t go over there.” He says and Jason scowls.
“Like hell I can’t. She’s my girlfriend, let me through.” He says, and the man shakes his head.
“Family only.” He states. Jason’s about to argue, when a hand lands on his shoulder.
“I still need to get a statement from Mr. Todd, if you’ll excuse us.” Replacement says, leading him away from the cop.
“I left her.” He says, the second they’re far enough away. Tim frowns.
“What do you-”
“I mean, I left her. She tripped and instead of checking on her, I was a complete and total asshole and left her so I could call B to get his ass over here and solve the goddamn problem.” Jason says, feeling like even more of an asshole now that he’s said it out loud.
“Did you see Scarecrow?” Replacement asks. Jason scoffs.
“Of course not! You really think I would’ve left if I had?” He asks with a glare.
“No, I don’t. So stop blaming yourself. I literally peeled her off of Scarecrow, she was beating the crap out of him. She’s gonna be tired and scared and confused when she wakes up. Just be there-”
“Jason!” Her terrified voice echoes out and Jason turns, sprinting for the cot he’d seen her on a minute ago. She had ripped the oxygen mask off her face and was looking around while arguing with the paramedic.
“Ma’am please-” “Marinette!” Jason calls, and her face relaxes as she leaps off the cot and launches herself into his arms. He holds her as she shakes, sobs wracking her body.
“I saw them.” She mumbles once she calms down a little. He frowns.
“Saw who?” He asks.
“My parents. Adrien. Their bodies.” She says, and suddenly, Jason has another name to add to his kill list. Being a complete asshole to all of Gotham, sure. Making his girlfriend see the bodies of those she’d lost? Nope. Now the bastard better hope he didn’t meet Red Hood in an alley.
“God, Mari, I am so sorry. I’m so sorry I left.” He apologizes, his heart aching when she pushes him away. She frowns up at him and he winces, certain she’s about to break up with him.
“Left?” She asks and he nods.
“When you tripped, I swear, I didn’t know Scarecrow was there.” He says.
“But you got Batman here.” She says and he jerks back. How the hell had she figured it out? When did she- “I know Bruce said he isn’t dating Batman, but honestly, I think he’s just in denial.” She adds.
“I- what?”
“Batman always comes when anyone in the Wayne family is in danger. Like, so quickly. And I know that Bruce says it’s just a bunch of rumors, like the whole ‘the butts match’ thing? But I also think that Batman is head over heels for Bruce, and your dad is just kinda clueless.” She rambles. Jason just laughs before pulling her into a deep kiss. She was okay. They were okay. He pulls back and grins at her, until he notices the blood again.
“Shit, that’s a lot of blood.” He says, taking her hand in his to try and find the source. He glances at her face and raises an eyebrow at the blush that had taken over her face.
“Oh, um, it’s not mine.” She mumbles.
“Then who-” “Apparently I beat the hell out of Scarecrow. In my defense, that fear toxin sucked. And I was kinda pissed.” She says, frowning down at the blood on her hands. Jason takes one of his hands and gently tilts her chin up so that she’s looking at him again. He grins at her, giving her a short, soft kiss before pulling back.
“I love you.” He says, and if the kiss she gave him in return meant anything, she felt the same way.

How the Sirens Adopted a Ladybug Pt5
AO3  Beginning   Previous   Next
They ate mostly in silence with Ladybug refusing to look at any of them. The Kwami were all cuddled up against her obviously trying to offer emotional support. Every time she managed to calm herself down Selina would look over at the girl and her rage would build up again. She was going to have to find an outlet for it in order to stay here.
“So why haven’t you asked for help from the European Justice League?” The full body flinch she got in response gave her a target for that rage. She mumbled something that Selina couldn’t hear. “What was that?”
“I don’t think they believed anything was happening. Eventually they just told me that if I couldn’t handle butterflies I shouldn’t consider myself a hero. They had real problems to deal with.” Oh she was definitely sicking Bruce on those idiots once she figured out what was going on. “In their defense once I cast my cure there’s no visible damage so unless one of them had been here during an attack it really doesn’t seem real.” Great, now she was making excuses for heroes who absolutely should know better.
“I don’t care what they thought, that’s unacceptable behavior. You mentioned something about others that were helping you?” She flinched and curled in on herself.
“You should tell them. Plagg’s right, I think they can help.” Most of the other Kwami looked surprised at Tikki’s words. Ladybug somehow just seemed to get smaller.
“Kiddo, the three of us are the last to judge, trust me. We just want to help.” Harley’s voice was gentle and the girl peeked at her before looking back at her hands. Plagg flew up to her shoulder and was whispering in her ear. Eventually she took a deep breath and pulled her knees into her chest.
“At first it was just Chat Noir and me. It was okay for a while. He was always goofing around and flirting but he was there. But things happened and he didn’t want there to be secrets even though it was for our own safety. The Guardian chose what information we got when and he trusted me more than he did Chat, especially the more he pushed. He let me choose temporary holders and that just pissed Chat off more. He started becoming unreliable. Not showing up to fights, spending patrols trying to convince me to reveal my identity. Then he revealed himself to the other holders and got them to do the same. I refused and he convinced the others that I wasn’t trustworthy. I had to take his Miraculous. Too many people knew who he was. After that I couldn’t use any of the others even if they had been willing and I didn’t know anyone else I could trust. Then the Guardian… he got sick and turned his responsibilities over to me. So now I use whichever Miraculous I need for any given battle.”
“And what about your living situation?” She shook her head but it seemed more like an automatic reaction than an answer.
“That could compromise my identity.” Plagg and Tikki both flew in front of her face with their arms crossed.
“You need to tell them. Keeping your identity from Chat and the others was necessary and as we’ve seen showed good instincts on your part, but this is different.” Tikki’s voice sounded encouraging but strained. Their worry was obvious.
“But-”
“No buts Kit.” Plagg pointed to Selina. “She’s one of mine and there’s no malice toward you in any of them. We’re done watching you suffer alone. Not to mention you haven’t had a chance to breathe in months let alone grieve properly.” Selina shared a confused look with the other two. Plagg referring to her as theirs was odd but she was more worried about the grieving comment. Tears welled in Ladybug’s eyes and she shook her head again.
“I can’t.” The words were choked and the rest of the Kwami cuddled further into the girl while Plagg and Tikki just looked at each other.
“Will you let us tell them?” She hunched in further on herself but before she could say anything Tikki let out a string of what sounded like curses. Selina had no idea what language it was in. “There’s an Akuma.” Ladybug let out a tired breath.
“What time is it?”
“School just started. Which one do you think it is this time?” Plagg’s snark just got annoyed noises from all the Kwami. Ladybug stood and started towards the window. “Kit you’re not transformed.”
“Oh right.” Tikki disappeared and there was another flash of light around the girl.
“Why don’t we go with you? I’d like to see exactly what’s going on.” She frowned in thought.
“If you want, but I need you to stay back and not interfere. It’s bad enough trying to keep the others out of harm's way and I really don’t have the energy to look after anyone else and still defeat the Akuma.” As soon as she said it she was out the window.
“What do you think she meant by others?” Harley sounded like she had a guess at the answer, but wanted someone to give her a different one.
“I have a bad feeling that her former help are still trying to pretend they’re heroes. That or they’re actively trying to sabotage her. Or possibly both.” Given what had been said about Chat Noir, she wouldn’t be surprised.
“We should head out and find a good vantage point.” Ivy was just staring out the window but it seemed like she was looking inward.
“I just need to grab my jacket. And for now we respect her wish for no interference, unless it’s a matter of life and death for her, agreed?” Harley and Ivy both gave a nod but neither looked happy about it. Ten minutes later, as they stood on a roof watching Ladybug taking hits for a bunch of idiots who wouldn’t leave the area, Selina wasn’t either. As soon as the fight was over they moved in closer to see what the morons had to say for themselves.
“Looking a bit ragged there M’Lady. Are you ready to admit you were wrong yet? All I want is an apology and a reveal and things can go back to the way they were.” Selina had to grab Harley to stop her from lunging at the boy who spoke but Ladybug shot him a flat look.
“Go back to what exactly? You refusing to respect my boundaries and throwing tantrums during a fight, or you just not showing up at all?” The boy sputtered indignantly and she turned to leave but a different one, the one who’d been possessed started yelling at her.
“Aren’t you even going to ask what upset me so much I got Akumatized? You used to actually care about people.” Ladybug just crossed her arms and waited. “Someone I thought was my friend just moved away without telling anyone! Can you believe that?” That just brought a confused look from the hero as she scanned the others assembled. For some reason that seemed to annoy the girl more. “Marinette! She just up and left without telling anyone!”
“I’m sorry, did you all just now notice she was gone?” Disbelief was the main thing in her tone, but there was hurt there as well.
“What do you mean just now? Don’t act like it’s our fault she decided to bail on her friends.” Ladybug was just staring at all of them like they’d lost their minds.
“Some friends considering it took you six months to notice she was missing in the first place.” There was a blonde girl leaning against a nearby building that Selina would swear wasn’t there a minute about.
“She’s not missing. Her parents sold their business and the family moved.” The blonde looked like she was going to fire back but Ladybug spoke first.
“Believe what you want, you always do. This is not something I’m going to stand here and argue about. I’m sorry you feel hurt but there’s nothing I can do to help the situation.” She tried to leave again.
“Wait!” The blond practically jogged up to her. “I need to speak with you, alone.” Ladybug hesitated. “Please, it’s important.” The hero searched the girls face for a moment before giving a small nod. The others immediately started shouting at her so she grabbed the other girl and headed to a nearby roof. They followed silently and Selina watched as they both stood awkwardly.
“So what do you need to talk to me about Chloe?” There was a wariness to Ladybug's tone and stance, almost like she expected to be yelled at or attacked. The other girl just seemed nervous.
“A couple things. You knew Marinette was missing, do you know where she is?” Ladybug’s entire body tensed up at the question and Chloe saw it. “I’m not asking you to tell me I just… I just want to know if she’s okay. The police are refusing to look for her, claiming she went to live with relatives out of the country even though her passport hasn’t been used, and she hasn’t touched her back accounts since the day after…” She trailed off, obviously not wanting to finish the thought.
“How do you know she hasn’t… you’ve been using your father’s accounts to check the police progress haven’t you?” She just gave a sheepish shrug. “Why? You hated Marinette.” Chloe flinched.
“No I didn’t. We were rivals sure, and I was overall a bitch yes, but I never hated her. We were just so different and… I mean you’ve met my parents. I was taught from a young age that I was above everyone else and that they should be grateful for my notice. Mari… I couldn’t understand for the longest time why she stood up to me. I know it sounds stupid and I can’t really explain it better.” She sounded frustrated but it actually seemed to calm Ladybug down for some reason. “Look, I understand why she wouldn’t want to come back to school. Those ungrateful peasants made her life a living hell, but it’s like she completely dropped off the face of the earth. I can’t even imagine what losing both her parents in an accident like that must have done to her.”
“She’s okay. She just didn’t want to be sent out of Paris, or put into the system.” It didn’t sound like a lie but Ladybug was refusing to look the other girl in the eye for some reason. Chloe was just frowning in thought.
“If you see her again… tell her I can help if she wants. I know I’m probably the last person she wants to deal with but if she needs a place to stay no questions asked, I’m offering. Daddy has a few judges that owe him favors as well so we can probably get her emancipated so she can at least get to her money without worrying about someone tracking her and putting her somewhere she doesn’t want to be.” Ladybug nodded but from her position Selina could see her fighting back tears. “The other thing I wanted to talk about…”
“Yes?” Chloe still hesitated. She looked worried.
“That comment Adrien made, about you looking ragged… he wasn’t wrong.” Ladybug curled in on herself and Chloe panicked. “I’m not say it as a criticism! Ever since those rejects abandoned you it’s obvious things have been getting worse. I don’t know what you home situation is like but it’s kind of obvious it’s less than great.”
“If you’re going to try and convince me to give you a Miraculous-”
“No! No, it’s nothing like that. I just… here.” She pushed something into the hero’s hand and Ladybug just looked at it in confusion.
“What…” Chloe cleared her throat nervously.
“I had part of my floor renovated into a sort of efficiency apartment. That key is to get in through the balcony. The door that leads to the rest of my suite has multiple locks, including bolts that go into the floor that can only be accessed from the inside.” Ladybug blinked at her, not seeming to process what the girl said. “It’s a safe place… if you need it.” There was a long pause then Ladybug lurched forward, pulling the other girl into a hug.
“Thank you.”  The words were soft, almost inaudible, but the emotion behind them was heartbreaking.

Tales of Bloody Bug and Chat Noir - Chapter 10 - Reflekta
Beginning || Previous || Next
(Before we get into this, a quick amend from canon. In the episode Reflekta, we see when Chat Noir is transformed into a Reflekta, he loses his miraculous. This has been amended so when they are hit, their jewels don't disappear.)
Alix sat on the ground as she watched the class before hers got their photo taken. She listened to the mindless chatter of her peers. Nathaniel mumbled to himself as he took notes for his latest comic idea. Adrien and Nino talked about some new music album. Juleka, Rose, Marinette, and Alya discussed Juleka’s self-inflicted jinx of not having a proper photo taken since she was young.
Alix rolled her eyes as the class ahead of them finished. The photographer set up for her class before he ushered them in. She joined Max, Marinette, Mylene, and Rose on the bench for the bottom row.
“Look, Sabrina, they’re up front in the baby seats. Go on, rugrats, don’t forget-!”
Alix leaned over and locked eyes with Chloe. She snarled and slammed her fist into her hand. Chloe gulped and shut up.
“Seriously, how do you do that? One look and that’s it. Chloe doesn’t say anything else to you,” Marinette remarked.
Alix crossed her arms. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
            Marinette sighed and faced forward.
The photographer got everyone else into position while Chloe complained the entire time not being next to Adrien. The photographer readied to take the photo until Marinette reminded him of Juleka, who he almost left out. Alix wished they had because the photographer spent too long rearranging them for a simple photo.
“This is ridiculous. My stop is unacceptable!” Chloe yelled.
Alix growled and jumped to her feet. She whirled around and faced Chloe, who tried to push Juleka out of the way. “Shut up! Shut. Up! No one cares what you want! Just stand in your stupid little spot and let’s get this over with!”
Chloe flinched and stood in her spot.
“Alix, my office after this,” Mr. Damocles said.
“Worth it. Someone has to do the job you two refuse to do,” Alix muttered.
Mr. Damocles and Miss Bustier sighed.
“Alright, we’re perfect now. Everyone say, ‘Spaghetti,’” Vincent announced.
            “Spaghetti,” everyone said.
Vincent clicked the button as the camera’s battery died. “I don’t believe this. I’m sorry, I have to go fetch another battery. Nobody move!”
Alix let out a groan of frustration. She slipped off the bench onto the ground. “Can I just go to your office now, please?”
“Not until after the photo. Get back into position, Miss Kubdel,” Mr. Damocles said.
Alix huffed. She sat back on the bench as Juleka moved. She listened to Juleka ask to head to the restroom. She rolled her eyes until she heard Chloe mutter to Sabrina to ensure Juleka doesn’t come back.
“Oh, Miss Bustier, I need to go to the bathroom,” Sabrina announced.
Alix turned her head as Sabrina ran off and neither Miss Bustier nor Mr. Damocles stopped her. Didn’t either of them hear Chloe’s remark? She couldn’t have been the only one.
“I have to go to the bathroom too,” Alix announced.
“Alix, no. Stay put,” Mr. Damocles said.
            “But it’s an emergency.”
            “I don’t care. Stay.”
“It’s a bloody emergency,” Alix growled.
            Mr. Damocles sighed. “Fine. Go.”
Alix ran to the girl’s restroom. She burst into the room as Sabrina stuck a chair against the stall door.
“Oh, you fucking bitch!” Alix roared.
Sabrina gasped and screamed. She ducked away from Alix and ran back to the group. Alix snarled and tore the chair away. Juleka burst out of the stall once the chair was gone.
            “Let’s go!”
Alix grabbed Juleka arm and yanked her out into the courtyard. Alix yelled out, but the group had their picture taken without them. The class had moved from their spots so the next class could get their photo taken.
“Thank you for trying, Alix, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
“That’s not true. It’s all because of Chloe!”
Juleka frowned. “That’s right. And so long as Chloe is in the picture, I’ll never be seen or heard. I’ll always be invisible.”
Juleka tore her arm away and ran off crying.
Alix reached out in the direction Juleka ran off in. She begged her legs to move, but a sinister rage held her in place. Her stomach knotted and plunged as the sickening familiarity of this all-consuming rage. She took several deep, labored breaths in a desperate attempt to calm herself. She staggered back against a wall before she ran into the locker room. She fumbled with her locker combination before she tore it open.
Alix reached into her backpack for her family heirloom. Tikki looked up in shock at the frenzied panic Alix was in. Alix clutched her heirloom and leaned against the lockers. She clicked down on the heirloom’s lid. It popped up with the hologram. She stared at it as she focused on calming herself.
“Alix, what’s wrong? I’ve never seen you look like that,” Tikki said.
“I felt it rise. That same anger from, well, not too long ago.”
            “What kind of anger?”
“Blinding. Dangerous. Murderous. I… I don’t mind my anger, but I despise that side of it. And I felt it again. Almost lost myself. I just might still, and I don’t want to.”
            “What triggered it?”
“I… the same that tried it before. Lessons I saw over and over again. Heard time and time again. Don’t let yourself be walked on. Don’t let yourself be taken advantage of. Don’t put up with anyone’s crap! This world will always take advantage of everyone, especially girls. So don’t ever let your guard down. Never let people see you bleed.”
            “Alix, that’s-,” Tikki started.
“And I saw it. All the time. People would try to take advantage of her, but she wielded anger like a weapon. She stood her ground, and no one messed with her. That was until the world struck back and she withered away before my eyes. In the end, she just… she stopped… fighting. Her anger dulled and will gone. A-And… I… I just….”
A new anger consumed Alix. This one bittersweet and foul. It mingled with her sorrow as tears gushed from her eyes uncontrollably. She gritted her teeth as she closed her watch and curled into a tight ball. Tikki wormed her way and settled at the nape of Alix’s neck.
“Allow yourself this, Alix. You need to feel,” Tikki said.
“I don’t want to. I don’t want to be reminded of it. I want to forget it and move on. I want-!”
“You can’t keep ignoring the circumstances of your mother’s passing. You’ll need to face it one day. That day need not be today, but for today, let yourself feel.”
Alix whimpered as more tears flooded her eyes. She curled into a tighter ball until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She gasped and scooted away. Her eyes widened seeing Luka, Juleka’s brother.
            “Are you… ok?” Luka asked.
            “Do I look ok?”
Luka flinched at Alix’s harsh tone. Guilt tore through her that mingled with everything else.
“I’m sorry. You didn’t deserve that. No, I’m not, but it’s ok.”
“What’s… that?” Luka asked as he pointed to Tikki.
“Oh. It’s a prototype I’ve been working on. I want to be an engineer, so I made a little AI creature, bot. I hoped it would be a nice companion, but it’s still in the development stages.”
Alix nudged Tikki, who flew up. Tikki smiled and bowed her head.
“Greetings. I am Proto-Beta, codename: Tikki. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, friend of Alix.”
Luka’s eyes widened. Alix tilted her head seeing the smallest spark of life to his otherwise dull, blue eyes.
“Do… do you think you could… make one for… me too?” Luka asked.
            Alix’s jaw dropped. “I-.”
The door to the locker room slammed against the door. Luka recoiled and covered his ears. Panic and dread were plastered on his otherwise stoic face. Alix hid Tikki as a girl in a neon pink jester’s outfit strolled in. Alix curled back her lip at the rubbery look of the jester girl that carried some hint of Juleka’s face.
            “Juleka?” Alix and Luka asked.
“Juleka’s gone. My name’s Reflekta and you’re both about to join the ranks of mes.”
Reflekta aimed her right arm at Luka. He fumbled to stand only to fall back to the ground. Alix jumped up and shielded Luka from the attack Reflekta shot out from the trinket on her hand. Alix gagged as her appearance became a mirror image of Reflekta.
“That’s much better. Now, stand aside. It’s time my dear brother got his extreme makeover,” Reflekta demanded.
Alix steadied herself and dropped into a fighting stance. “Make me move.”
“Do you really think you can take me?”
“If I’m stupid enough to face Nathaniel as a villain, what makes you any different? At least he had something useful to keep me at bay. Can you say the same?”
Reflekta hesitated. She stepped back and ran out of the locker room.
“That’s what I thought,” Alix muttered.
            “Th-th-that wasn’t… that wasn’t Juleka… was it?” Luka asked.
“It seems so. Look, go hide. Like this, she isn’t herself. You’ll be safer until she’s freed.”
            Luka nodded.
Alix smiled and ran out of the locker room. She stopped and gawked at everyone that had been transformed. She looked to the front doors to see them blocked by lockers. She ran upstairs to find an empty classroom. She frowned seeing they all had students in them. She changed course and headed into the library. She ducked behind an isolated bookcase and transformed.
Bloody Bug sighed, relieved to see her normal self and not Reflekta’s image. She ran out of the library in search of Reflekta. She frowned see the countless clones as she worked how to identify the real one.
“Bloody Bug! You’re not Chloe, but you’re just who Hawkmoth wants,” Reflekta yelled.
Bloody Bug looked around as a beam came her away. She ducked before, narrowly missing it. She stood as Reflekta approached her.
“Where’s your precious kitty, Bloody Bug? I’d hate for him to miss out on this wonderful opportunity to receive the facelift of the century with his little Bug.”
Bloody Bug blinked and looked past Reflekta at Chat Noir. He readied himself as he stealthily closed the gap. She snorted as she raised her right hand and waved it around.
“Don’t you think this is all a little extreme?”
“Nothing is too extreme. Not when it comes to Chloe. I’ll make her pay for excluding me. I’ll make her pay for getting rid of me. But only after I’ve dealt with you and claimed your earrings for Hawkmoth.”
Bloody Bug hummed. Chat Noir was in position to take Reflekta by surprise. A thought crossed her mind to help him. She smirked and shrugged.
            “Alright. Nice and easy, right?”
“Wait. Just like that? You’ll hand them over?” Reflekta asked.
            “Sure. Why not?”
Bloody Bug approached Reflekta, who held out her hand for the earrings. Bloody Bug grabbed Reflekta’s arm and flipped Relekta over her head. Reflekta screeched as she was slammed into the ground. Chat Noir rushed in, grabbed Reflekta’s right arm, and smashed the trinket. The Akuma flew from the remains. Bloody Bug caught and purified it. Reflekta reverted to Juleka along with everyone afflicted.
“What-? What happened? Where am I?” Juleka asked.
“You’re back in your school. After being akumatized,” Bloody Bug answered.
            “I… I’m sorry.”
“What happened to push you to accept such a deal?”
“I missed out on the class picture because of Chloe’s pranks. Alix, my classmate, tried to save me, but because of me, we both missed out on it. I felt awful. Not only did my jinx ruin my photo, but my friend’s as well. I felt powerless. No one sees or hears me. The only time they do is when I act like my mom, but I don’t always like acting like my mom. But I have to just to be acknowledged by anyone.”
            “Not me,” Luka whispered.
Juleka gasped. They all looked over as Luka shuffled towards them. She burst into sobbing fits as she ran towards Luka. She tackled him in a hug that sent them both to the floor.
“Luka! I’m so sorry! I must have terrified you! I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
Luka shook his head. “Alix protected me from… Reflekta.”
Bloody Bug hummed. She looked out to the courtyard to see Chloe confronting Mr. Damocles. Her eyes widened seeing Marinette getting reprimanded. She started towards them but stopped as the anger nipped at her. She covered her mouth and staggered back.
Chat Noir caught Bloody Bug. “Woah, easy. Are you ok?”
“I… I don’t think I can confront Chloe on her part in this. I’ll…!”
Chat Noir smiled and squeezed Bloody Bug’s shoulders. “You don’t need to. I’m here. Let me handle this.”
Bloody Bug gulped as a tear fell from her eyes. “Thank you. I… I’ll see you later.”
Chat Noir watched Bloody Bug leave before he approached Mr. Damocles, Chloe, and Marinette. He caught snippets of their conversation where Chloe caught Marinette sneaking into Mr. Damocles’s office with video evidence on her phone. He snarled and snatched Chloe’s phone.
            “Who dares-!” Chloe started.
Chat Noir snapped the phone in half, then handed it back to her.
“How dare you! I’m friends with Bloody Bug, fleabag, so you better watch yourself. She just might make a rug of you once she hears what you did,” Chloe snapped.
“You think Bug would help someone as vile as you? Not after everything you did to hurt that poor girl that was akumatized?”
“Please. Who are you really going to believe? Some nobody or someone like me.”
“Chat Noir, has the threat been dealt with?” Mr. Damocles asked.
“Reflekta is no longer a problem, but she’s still hurting. There’s still a risk she’d transform again.”
Mr. Damocles stiffened. “Is there something we can do to help her?”
“Yes! Let us take the photo again. Please, for Juleka,” Marinette butted in.
“No way! Besides, aren’t you paying the photographer by the hour?” Chloe reminded.
“What’s another hour compared to another akumatization?” Chat Noir countered.
Mr. Damocles sighed. “Very well, we’ll take the photo again. I’ll let the class and photographer know.”
            “What? But-!” Chloe started.
“Face it, Chloe, you’ve lost this one. Bloody Bug isn’t here. Even if she was, she wouldn’t defend you. Not for something like this.”
“That’s not true! She’s my friend!”
Chat Noir snarled, his ears pinned back, and tail lashed. “You don’t deserve to be her friend. You don’t deserve to be her anything. She’s the most amazing person ever and you’re just a little monster. You don’t even need an Akuma to be one.”
“How dare you! You’re going to eat those words, fleabag. Mark my words!”
“Consider them marked,” Chat Noir growled.
Chloe snarled and stormed off. Chat Noir shook his head as he hid away and de-transformed. He snuck around until he found Nino and stayed near Nino but kept his eyes on the photographer. He was relieved to see them set up to have his homeroom class take their picture again. Everyone was arranged as before, except Alix was missing.
“Miss Bustier? Where’s Alix?” Mylene asked.
“She seems to have left school grounds. I’ve already informed her father of this,” Mr. Damocles answered.
Adrien knotted his brow as he looked at Alix’s empty seat. A budding suspicion gnawed away at him. Bloody Bug had left, and Alix was still gone. There were some similarities between the two, but were they the same person?
“Alright, last time we do this. Everyone say, ‘Spaghetti.’”
            “Spaghetti!” everyone cheered.
The photographer took the photo and straightened. “Alright. All done.”
Juleka beamed beside Adrien. Marinette, Alya, Mylene, and Rose all hugged her as the final bell rang. Everyone dispersed, gathered their things, and headed out. Adrien took a moment to look around for Alix but didn’t see her anywhere. He hummed as he headed out to his ride.
Adrien got in the car but kept his eyes on the school. He waited to see if Alix would make an appearance at all, but she was still missing. The suspicion gnawed and ate away at him the entire ride home. He headed straight for his room up to his window.
“Uh, what do you think you’re doing?” Plagg asked.
“I’m going to look for Bloody Bug.”
“How? She’s likely out of uniform, going about her life. Just as we should by staying here and eating cheese.”
“No, Plagg. She’s hurting. Something happened and she needs someone. She’s probably alone and suffering. I can’t let that stand. She needs me. Even if she doesn’t, she shouldn’t have to be alone.”
“You don’t even know who she is. How will you find her?”
            “I have my suspicions.”
“What? Well, nix them. You two aren’t supposed to know who each other are.”
            “Why is that?”
            “Because that’s how it is.”
“Well, it’s stupid. Especially when my partner is out there suffering. You want to know what’s stupid? Expecting me to sit by for her to bled because of some rule you can’t even give proper reasoning behind.”
“Look, not everything is going to make sense. Regardless, the rules are there for a reason. Usually to keep you guys safe, but that’s that.”
“Safe from what exactly? What harm could come with us knowing?”
“Well… I mean, your enemy could akumatize one of you and learn who the other is. He may come for either of you directly.”
“Wouldn’t that help us stop him?” Adrien pressed.
“I mean, it could, but it could also put you two in a lot of danger.”
“Maybe so, but you’re running on an assumption that we’d get akumatized in the first place. I know I’d never let our enemy manipulate me, and do you honestly think Blood would fall as easily too?”
“Look, she’s got spunk, but also a temper. She’s wild and impulse, so she’s a risk.”
“You’re wrong. If she’s so much a risk, why isn’t she akumatized right now?”
“Maybe… maybe Hawkmoth didn’t want to use her right now.”
“You’re telling me that someone with such strong emotions with some kind of major trauma isn’t as enticing as say some kids who got humiliated. Sure, it’s no better, but you really think he’d pass up on all that negativity?”
            “Well, probably not.”
“Exactly, and right now, she needs me. She needs her best friend.”
“And where are you even going to start looking? Even with your hunch, she could be anywhere.”
Adrien paused. Plagg did have a point. He could end up searching the entire city to never find Bloody Bug. Even if she was Alix, that still didn’t help him as he knew less about Alix than Bloody Bug. Except he knew about Bloody Bug’s late mother. There could be a chance she could be at a graveyard, visiting her mother’s grave. It was a shot in the dark, but it was worth investigating first before he roamed aimlessly.
“Maybe so, but I need to try. I’d rather spend the rest of the day looking for her and not find her than to not try at all.”
Plagg sighed. “There’s no convincing you otherwise, is there?”
“Not at all. Let’s go. Plagg, claws out.”

Mmm let's see.......
Earlier today approximately at 4:26 PM I was inboxed by a Adrien stan who commented on my posts before I blocked them.
They private messaged me and told me that it was Marinette's fault Adrien's abusing her and I was wrong for pointing out Adrien's abuse towards her. According to them I'm a delusional demented bitch for calling Adrien an abuser, and a bad person.
I also happen to point out Adrien's horrible behavior on various other platforms like Wattpad for example. I'm not sure if the person who inboxed me earlier is friends with other Adrien stans but another Adrien stan in one day messaged on my message wall. Saying this,
"I hate people like you. Adrien is not and will never be a abuser. People like you want to hate on characters that have done literally nothing wrong. You just need to stop watching the show all together and commit already. People like you suck and need to die. Adrien is innocent and has done nothing wrong, Marinette is the one that abuses Chat Noir and rejects him breaking his heart like it's nothing. He's respects her and does everything for her. Just go grab a gun and shoot yourself with it. Marinette is a bitch who deserves to burn in hell, she doesn't deserve Chat."
Guys I......I don't even know what to do right now. I have blocked this user as well. But um guys......please read what they said carefully and examine everything they've said.
Another then came in my inbox on Wattpad accusing me of calling her friend names (The eariler Wattpad Adrien stan) and bullying "Adrien".
"Your a horrible bitch, your just some attention slut, all you do is complain about Adrien. When he's nothing but amazing. Marinette is an awful person. She's weird and dysfunctional and she doesn't deserve Adrien, she should have felt bad that Chloe left, that was Adrien's best friend and as Ladybug she's always controlling Chat Noir and he never gets any spotlight. fuck off. You shouldn't be alive or watching a great show like Miraculous"
Like okay.....
I wish I could say I'm lost for words but I'm not even in the slightest bit surprised. It just kills me how so many of his stans grow so defensive and attack people for saying things about their favorite predatory cis white boy billionaire. And they call Marinette a million names while blaming her for shit Adrien's done.
Like......I don't even know what to say right now.

but she has a past where she used to be a bully in new york and bullied people if they didn’t fit in , and was practically the it girl from a movie? does that make sense?
however shes changed , yet one day during a akuma attack , her whole past gets revealed and videos of her being a complete BITCH and it being played off as hot by her classmates gets shown to the entire of paris?
what’s adrien doing? is she going to comfort her or leave her?

What should you do when your father is out on a business trip?
Throw a party.
And that’s exactly what you did. At least that’s what you used to do back in New York.   It’s something you were known for. Now since you’ve got the chance to start fresh with a new life in Paris you decided to bring an old tradition back with you and invite some friends over from the school you’re attending, and your boyfriend of course.
Adrien Agreste. You had no idea what you did to get such an angel in your life. You’ve been dating him for a few moths now and you could already see yourself becoming a better person around him. You came to Paris with the intention of leaving your past behind, starting new and fresh without the bullshit from your past. This was it. Nothing could fuck this up.
“Hey,let me help you.” You hear your Adrien say while you try to adjust the lights near the DJ stand.
“I got it.” You say and get on your tip toes to hang the last light. “There.” You say, a successful smile on your face.
“You really out did yourself huh?” You feel his arms wrapping around you from the back and you hum.
“Oh please Agreste, this is nothing compared to what I used to do in New York.” You say and turn around, giving him a kiss on the cheek. “I hope everyone likes it.” You say, more to yourself than to him.
“Of course they will, Ma belle.” He says and kisses your forehead.
You loved it when he called you nicknames, they just made butterflies burst around your stomach.
His soft hand reaches up to touch your cheek and he caresses it gently. You look into his green eyes which were soft and welcoming. He is so gorgeous.
Your noses touch and you sigh, touching his hand and smiling softly. “I hate to ruin the moment, my love but I have to go make a few minor changes before your friends come.”
He pouts at you. “But everything’s already perfect, can’t we spend some alone time together before everyone comes?”
You shake your head. “I promise you’ll have me all to yourself tonight , Agreste.” You smirk and watch as his cheeks glow red. You quickly kiss his cheek and giggle, walking away to the kitchen to make sure that everything is in place.
It didn’t take long before people started arriving.
“Claudia, start offering the drinks around to people.” You whisper to your maid before going to greet everyone.
A familiar bluenette appears, with an amazed look on her face while she looks around. You grin and walk towards her.
“Marinette! You look stunning!” You say and give each other a friendly kiss on the cheek. She really did look stunning. You’ve never seen her hair like this before, let down and slightly curled.  She’s wearing a dress which perfectly hugged her body and the colour was gorgeous on her - A deep vermilion shade which complemented her fair skin.
“Likewise.” She grins and looks at your dress. “Oh my god who are you wearing? This dress is gorgeous.” She gasps, eyes wide while she moved around to see the dress from the back and front.  You knew that she would comment on it, she had an eye for fashion after all.
“My father got this for me as a gift from South Korea. The designer is a family friend of ours.” You smile proudly. You didn’t want to brag about it but in all honesty you loved this dress too much not to show it off.
You look to her side and see a blue haired boy standing kind of awkwardly next to her. “And you must be…?” You trail off, quirking an eyebrow at him.
“Luka, Marinette’s date.” He says nonchalantly and Marinette stops looking at your dress, straightening up with her face glowing red.
“Ah, I see. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Im-“
“I already know who you are.” He states and you furrow your eyebrows. You’re more than sure you’ve never met this guy before.
Marinette nudges him and you see him stiffen up.
“I mean, it was kind of a big deal when you came to Paris and everyone was talking about you so-“
Marinette sighs and grabs Lukas arm. “We’re going to get a drink, It was nice seeing you! Au revoir !” She says and walks away with Luka. You could hear her cussing at him from where you were standing.
Ah, of course. You knew that everyone was talking about you. The new rich bitch from New York who’s mother is in jail. That’s what everyone saw at first. Maybe they do still see it now. But maybe that’s why you fell for Adrien, because he never judged you in the first place despite all those rumors.
You turn around and see him, talking to Nino. He’s wearing the outfit you picked out for him.  Black shirt slightly unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up, tan pants with a black belt around them and black converse.  His hair was messy but it looked so good on him and his cheeks were tinted a little pink, probably because of the few drinks that he’s had already.  Your eyes meet and he smiles at you. Right as he was about to come next to you, you feel someone tap your shoulder.
“Hi, Nadja Chamack. Did you move to paris because your mother is imprisoned for drug trafficking? Was your father denied bail?” The woman rushes to say while shoving a microphone to your face. You stare at her wide eyed. You didn’t know what to say.
“Hey, leave now before I call security, you shouldn’t be up here.” You hear Adrien say sternly while putting a hand on your shoulder.
“But was that the reason you came to Paris or was it because of the video that was spread of you-“
“Security!” Adrien shouts and two body guards grab Nadja and her camera man.
You stand there, dumbfounded as the body guards drag them away, the two cussing and struggling to get out of their grasp.
“Mon ange, are you okay?” Adrien asks, cupping your face with his hands, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You look at him and clear your throat.
“I’m fine, I need a drink.” You say and remove his hands from your face and start walking away.
He grabs your hand and looks at you, concern filling your eyes.
“No you’re not okay.” He says, kissing your hand and holding it gently. “What did they mean by video?” He asks.
Your body goes into full fight or flight mode.
“God Adrien! It’s nothing.” You snap at him. “just let it go, I don’t want to deal with this right now.” You remove yourself from his grasp and quickly walk away to the open bar.
You didn’t mean to snap at him but that conversation needed to wait until you two got more serious. You weren’t ready for it.
You grab a glass of champagne and down it, your face contorting because of the after taste.
You were about to get another one until you hear a scream.
“We want to know all your secrets! Don’t be bemused, it’s just the news!” A distorted voice says and you drop your glass on the floor when you see a dark purple monstrous figure coming your way.
“Shit.” You cuss and run away from the bar.
Everyone was screaming and trying to rush to the exit but everywhere was closed off with a purple like shield around.
You frantically look around to find a place to hide until you see a familiar blond with cat ears motioning to you.
Chat Noir. Thank god.
You were about to run to him until you started floating in the air, a purple bubble surrounding you.
You screamed and frantically hit it to try to escape but it was no use.
“I got you now!” You hear the distorted voice say and let out an evil laugh.
You watch your phone float out of your hand and out of the bubble.
Fuck, fuck fuck fuck.
You were fucked.
The bubble that surrounded you explodes and you fell from it, right into the arms of Chat Noir.
“Hey I got you it’s okay” He says smiling at you and for some reason you were slightly comforted by him.
Your eyes fill with tears and your throat begins to feel like it’s closing.
“She has my phone.” You croak out and your body starts shaking.
You see Ladybug swinging from the roof, throwing her Yo-Yo to try and grasp the villain but it was too late.
A screen appeared out of thin air and a video started playing -  you were in it, in your classroom in your school in New York. You knew exactly what this video was.
Your jaw clenched when it started playing.
“Awh look she’s crying guys.” You say in a condescending tone in the video. The girl, Sarah, was balling her eyes out in front of you while you smirk and stand in front of her, your arms crossed.
“H-How could you!” She sobs out.
“How could I what? Your boyfriend was the one with his hands all over me, I just gave him what he really wanted.” You say and chuckle.
“That’s not true he would never-“
“Cheat?” You cut her off, lean closer to her and put your hands on the desk in front of her. “hate to break it to you honey but he did.” You tell her and she sobs even harder.
“Maybe this will help you put you back in your place.” You say, grabbing her face, making her look at you. “You’re a nobody, a loser and you had the audacity to talk shit behind my back?”
Her lips quiver in fear and she was visibly shaking in the video.
“You think you could ever stand a chance against me? Think again bitch.” You say and let her face go, turning around and arranging your skirt.
“By the way, he’s a really good kisser. Such a shame.” And with that you walk away from her while people wolf whistle at you and mumble things under their breath.
You were still in Chat’s arms, he was looking at the screen, eyes wide and lips parted. It was like he was frozen. Tears were streaming down your face, you couldn’t move.
Everyone around you was mumbling and whispering things.
“She’s such a bitch.”
“I knew the rumors about her were true! She’s horrible!”
“This wasn’t the video I wanted! Where’s the proof where’s the-“ The villain gets cut off by Ladybug grabbing her microphone with the akuma in it and slamming against her knee. A purple butterfly emerges from it and she grabs it with her yoyo, turning it white.
“Miraculous ladybug!” She chants and the place starts magically getting back to normal.
Chat clears his throat. “I need to go.” He mumbles and removes his hands from you. You nod and stare down at your shoes.
“Thank you for saving me.” You say, forcing yourself to smile.
He didn’t even look at you, he didn’t even say anything as he left.
Did he think you were horrible too?
Oh my god.
Adrien.
After the villains were taken away everyone left without even saying goodbye to you.
You sat down on the platform near the DJ stand and hugged your knees closer to your chest.
You hear footsteps walk towards you and you look up. His green eyes meet yours but they instantly avert to the side.
“You know, when we first started dating, everyone was telling me about these stupid rumors about you and I never wanted to hear them because I never believed you could be capable of that.” He says, a frown on his lips.  “I never wanted to be so fucking right in my life but I guess I was wrong.”
You were trying so hard not to cry in front of him. You knew that this would happen when he found out, it was like a gut feeling. Adrien Agreste is a good person. He likes to be surrounded by good people and that video just showed that you might not be the good person he really thought you were. Your heart ached.
“I’ve c-changed Adrien.” You stutter in a small voice, scared that you would break down if you spoke too loudly.
“Have you really?” he questions, looking directly at you. He was disappointed in you. “God, why didn’t you tell me this before!” He rubs his face in frustration. You’ve never seen Adrien so worked up like this.
“Because I knew You’d react like this!” You say, louder this time as you get up. “For fucks sake Adrien! I told you my past wasn’t perfect and I know I was a bitch but I was young and stupid and I know it doesn’t excuse my actions but I’ve grown from my mistakes. I came to Paris with the mindset of becoming better, finding out who I really am and starting fresh!”
You watch him part his lips to say something but You cut him off.
“Look me right in the eye and tell me you’ve never done a mistake in your life, Adrien.”
His lips close and he averts his gaze away from you again.
“I know I should’ve told you sooner but I was too scared of losing you. Y-you made Paris feel like my home, you’re the reason why I make better choices, you helped me find myself.” Tears start falling down your cheeks and you look down. “And if I haven’t changed then I wouldn’t be looking stupid and crying over you and explaining myself to you because im genuinely terrified at the thought of losing the first person in my life who I’ve genuinely fallen in love with.” You sob out.
There was silence, apart from the sniffles and sobs coming from you.
“What did you say?” Adrien asks you and you hear his footsteps come closer.
“What?” You sniffle, looking up at him, furrowing your eyebrows. Your eyes were puffy and red and so was your nose. You haven’t cried like this in ages.
“The last part.”
“I’ve genuinely fallen in love with you? “ You mumble and widen your eyes. Oh shit, you’ve fucked up again.
“I know it’s sudden and I don’t expect you to return it back and I don’t know why I just said that but-“ He cuts you off with his lips smashing against yours.
It was euphoric. Probably the most genuine kiss you’ve ever felt in your life.
He breaks away, your foreheads touching and both of you breathless.
His pretty pink lips curl into a small smile and his face cups yours, wiping your tears away with his thumb.
“I love you too.” He whispers and kisses your forehead. “I’m sorry I overreacted, I just didn’t want to be wrong about you but I believe that you’ve changed, I know you’re heart is pure.”
And that’s when you realized that yes, your heart was pure again. Clean from all the sins you’ve did in the past. You didn’t know if it was his green eyes, soft skin, perfect lips or maybe the way he looked at you that has cleansed you but maybe it took pure love to find a pure heart.
