Recently became just a big fan, HUGE, of characters who do PLENTY awful things, they are VILLAINS, but they don't mistreat their family. They don't abuse them and do love them
From William Afton to Von Karma it's nice to reread supernova and have this from Supernova
So so SO important to me that this book makes this clarification when Ace's character changes so drastically. Clarifying that, No. This is not what Ace is usually like. This frightens Nova, this isn't normal
Just. So interesting that we KNOW that he cared for Nova, and it showed, Nova felt cared for. And I'm glad it's there so the betrayal is that much more shocking!
Anyway, haven't come across it yet on AO3 I don't think but if I find anyone arguing that Ace abused her I will be putting up fists willing to discuss and have this as a strong piece of evidence (/jjjj)

Why am I reading Wikipedia articles about post-structuralism and anti-humanism when I'm stupid-tired?
#personal#random#philosophy#sorta get the critique of humanism and human rights as being...intrinsically tied to Western colonialist culture#but I haven't got to a part that explains a better alternative yet#also I can personally relate to all the stuff about like...existence and truth and reality being irrevocably tied to and shaped by language#I'm a super verbal thinker (and I can't draw for shit) and I can't communicate any of my thoughts or experiences without words really#buuuuuut I'm pretty sure that's not true for everyone so idk how that works#let alone for people who are non-verbal?#also I'm like 50/50 whether I understand any of this or not#I frickin hated semiotics in my methodology class because the professor did not explain it well#and I'm pretty sure none of knew wtf he was talking about based on looking around the room at about a dozen similarly blank faces#just something about what painting the Forth Bridge forever meant idek#I was so burnt out at that point#grad school was a mistake#nvm
