i know i already posted this but, i finished and the ending is important.
so the first paragraph is biography. second is the good things hes already done and the third is what he can do better...i hope im not judge by what i finished with.
Wilbur Soot is an english musician and Minecraft Youtuber/Streamer. Popular for his part in the “Dream smp” and his position in the indie rock band “Lovejoy”, With 1,622,433 Followers and 1,212,540 monthly listeners on spotify. But before that, he had his own channel of music, was a former member of a channel called “Soot House”, and is the creator of the infamous “Editor Wilbur ARG”. It was Wilbur's presence as Lead editor and Co-Founder in 2017 in the comedy channel “Soot House” that began his rise to fame. His music career started in 2018, writing comedy songs, his first EP in 2019 being 13 minutes (four tracks/songs) long called “Maybe I was Boring”. The most impactful thing(s) Wilbur has done, would be in my opinion, His release of “Your City Gave Me Asthma” and supporting and creating several Fundraisers for multiple occasions and events. The main Fundraisers would be Stand Up To Cancer, The Sarcoma Foundation of America, and The WilburSoot Pride Fundraiser. These fundraisers are now over, having been able to successfully raise and distribute the money to those in need. “Jubilee Line” from the album “Your City Gave Me Asthma” is about all the pollution in the London underground transit system and how many take their lives and are ignored by the many commuters. He said in a Twitch stream once, “after experiencing people take their lives on the London underground only to receive disgruntled groans by commuters who will now be late for whatever it is they’re going to, one becomes quite jaded to the human condition in general. I guess this last line was me putting blame on the city rather than those commuters or the poor people who committed suicide.”
For things he can do better, is just be himself. I feel like he has provided enough and to want more from someone like himself, it would be selfish. He already makes so many people smile, his music makes so many people happy, he’s donated to so many causes, why would we ask for more? We know nothing of how fame affects him, of how he feels… and by not asking more, we are respecting him. Grade me what you may, but I stand by what I believe.
#help?#i dunno if im gonna piss of my history teacher or not...he seems chill abt this kinda stuff#me personally? killer ending on my part#al was here!#al estaba aqui!#um....i write i guess?

@pikslasrce tagged me to post my top albums from this year :))
senses fail - still searching // armor for sleep - what to do when you are dead // senses fail -let it enfold you hollywood undead - hotel kalifornia // boysnightout - make yourself sick // wilbur soot - your city gave me asthma alesana - the emptiness // bedwetters - meet the f@cking bedwetters // bring me the horizon - sempiternal
do not ask me how many times i've listened to these 9 albums idon't even know myself. it's way too much though. i couldn't put all 4 boysnightout albums here so i just stayed at 1 and put it in the very middle because they altered my brain chemistry <33
senses fail gets 2 albums because i didnt spend weeks only listening to those 2 albums for no reason... their lyrics mean sm to me i want to illustrate the albums or songs one day. this goes for both senses fail and boysnightout btw. AND armor for sleep. there's something about that specific album. i realised i really enjoy albums that tell a story. and the fact that i like themes of angst love blood betrayal etc etc is no surprise either. car underwater got played way too many times
i discovered bedwetters thanks to eurovision, they were one of the options for estonia and i ofc found their old and only album (they released a new one a few weeks ago tho) (i dont know why they have 2 spotify accounts. im not asking). i even got to see them live bc they gave a free concert during summer <33333333 i got a picture with the band too !!!!! so cool
the new hollywood undead album got me back into them so im back to being obsessed. i love my silly california guys :3 i've been keeping up with them since and i desperately need to draw them again, this time without their masks!!!! im very glad that i found alesana to be sooo palatable this year because ive tried to listen to them before when i was a teenager and it just... didn't click, even if i tired. so yeah i get to fix that mistake now.
in spring i had a moment where i listened to sempiternal on repeat on the cd player for multiple days straight and in the past month i've, again, been listening to bmth and specifically sempiternal again so it gets a special place, too.
wilbur is just there because i had jubilee line stuck in my head so so so so much and also it's the best study music ever. also wilbur why is i'm sorry boris so silent. i can barely hear it it makes me angry so i always skip it. and then bc its the end of the album it gives me some lmanburg flag cover-art song that i don't like
anyway here's a special mention to these 3 albums because 1) greeley estates - caveat emptor, i just discovered it this week and i am in love. also greeley estates has been in my radar for quite some time now and i find the singers voice to be very pleasant and interesting? the tone does sth for me 2) brand new - deja entendu, for being stuck in my head for a good week because the tommy gun song wouldn't leave my head since it came on shuffle from my saved mp3 list when net was down 3) just surrender - if these streets could talk, because again i was obsessing over this for like a good week before i forgot about it. good album. not available in serbia tho for some reason
can you tell i love talking about music that i like. i know nothing about music it just makes me happy. :)
anyway i am tagging uhhhh @varteeny1234 and @complicatedsurgery and uhhh @cactusringed and uhhhh anyone else who wants + i'm not gona tag you, sly, because you only listen to alex g anyway <3
#moth post#music#tag game#good lord this ended up long#im not gona put it under read more bc look at my music boy

And if I were to mix them with acoustic gang, IRM is under Iafiap, Egirl and ynb are below la Jolla (or tied), and then soft Boy under them

Music anon, I'm sorry it took a while to reply to this ask! Life has been a little hectic (T⌓T) but I finally got the time to listen (and re-listen again and again!!!) to the songs you recommended and wowowowowowow!!
Cafe 130, Bleu Bledsoe & Gregory Sandomirsky — I loved this so much??? I don't listen to a lot of music of this genre (unless you count acoustic covers, lol) but this felt so dreamy! I constantly kept thinking of two lovers dancing together, as cheesy as that sounds. Or of a character visiting some castle in a foreign land, the mysterious king in a mask being entranced by them~ The violin and guitar go so well together, dancing step in step with the other, chasing after the other!! I loved this so much!!!! IDK how many more exclamation points I can put to show it!!! ಥωಥ
Wilbur Soot —
Trying not to think about it Is it fair to say listening to this made me feel like I was in some teenage coming-of-age film and just had an explosive fight with my best friend and now I'm on the bus ride home, staring out the window and trying to keep my tears in as I watch the scenery past by. I loved his lyricism so much! This song especially feels like reading a diary and the trumpets that come in during the interlude? The vocal layering? Chefs kiss, the regret in every sentence fuels me to write angst I swear.
Amazon Standing Lamp The guitar in the beginning literally made my ears perk up, the vibes in the very beginning piqued my interest so much. The tone set itself quickly, and I loved every second of it. And the discontented (?) plucky strings with the bridge? I need it in me actually. The lyrics made me add it to my OC's playlist immediately, lmao.
Eulogy GUITAR!!! ONCE AGAIN!!! BIG SLUT FOR IT!!! Also, how does he keep writing yearning so well??? His descriptions feel like poetry in a very angry way. I must know who hurt him - is he okay? (´;︵;`) "I wish I'd be the one who's hurt indignantly, but I can see; that the only one who hurts someone is me" BWAAAAAAAHHHHHH!! UEU UEUE UEUE!!1
Around the Pomegranate "In rapid eye moves. I fall right back to you," and if I die??? Honestly, another "I'm in a coming-of-age movie" feeling song but this song feels like I'm an outcast who just met another outcast and there's a montage of us spending the summer together and running away from bullies or lame adults. Then the bridge happens and it's a montage of me eyeing my best friend with queer angst. His voice sounded so fucking emotional!!! The way the song just ends after it??? INSANE!!!
Jubilee Line Guitar strums, save me guitar strums,,,, the quiet humming in the background spooked me when I used my headphones (lol) but I love humming along to it!!! The way he blames the city for his angst? Yes, I love directing anger at inanimate objects, that's so my genre of anything. "I'm so angry at you I'm beginning to find you in everything" I LOVE IT!!! The bridge where he talks about the barriers on the tube line/rails and how they fail??? Take me, music anon, I feel like I'm gonna faint
Melatonin 130 The beep boops made me smile when I first listened to it. Also, as someone who has insomnia, this song was giving big #relatable vibes but then he added about tucking his face in someone's neck and it became a painful kinda #relatable. ALSO THE WHOLE TALK ABOUT MEDICINE AND ANXIETY??? TAKE ME AGAIN MUSIC ANON I'M GONNA FAINT!!! The bridge??? THE BRIDGE??? OUUUUEEEEEE WHAT A GOOD SONG TO CRY TO WHILE YOU'RE SMOKING IN YOUR ROOM!!! "We're all apes with a diary book and corporate reads your pages" ????
Lovejoy —
Call me what you like The shift between Wilbur Soot's guitar strums to this band made me snort. I personally love pathetic yearning, like yes, kiss me if you need to but IDK if you need me like I need you MMMMM DELICIOUS ME THINKS "I'm not a paranoid, I'm a realist; I know you're gonna kill me!" OUGH HE IS SO PATHETIC I LOVE IT The twangy electric guitar plucks makes my brain happy. My head kept bopping just listening to this song.
Portrait of a Blank Slate The beginnings made me think of a movie montage lol. The lyrics make me think of a broody, distrustful, dude who falls for a magnetic woman who he feels will get bored of him but lord the yearning does not stop him. Her boyfriend is an asshole and the singer wants to make her happier??? I've got my head in my hands, music anon, when the interlude played I can imagine scenes of them getting closer than they should but always pulling away - hold me, music anon, hold me, please. Him apologising for it all being predictable??? What a loser (I need him).
Normal People Things HEAD BOPPING THE SECOND WE PLAY THIS!!! If I could drive, this song would need to be on the ban list, I will crash the car. This song playing during a chase scene with a delinquent and another delinquent but they're just introverted? Perfect me thinks.
VIOLENTVIRA —
God Complex Ough, ouGH OUGHOUGH This song reminded me of Yuno Gasai, lmao. But oh god, the lyrics??? Obsessed actually, I need this song put into a chip so I can stab it into my brain. The dark yearning??? The instrumental??? The way she keeps saying "I wanna be" to "I'm gonna be" - I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Also reminded me of Brahms Heelshire but that's just me being a simp.
I Don’t Care OUGHGGGGGGGGHHHHH THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO SUCH A WONDERFUL ARTIST, MUSIC ANON!!!! Her songs have been on repeat for me since the second I listened to her lORD I just know the Creepypasta speed paints back in 2010 would've loved her music. This song is giving "I don't care if this love is destructive, I'll love you until I can't anymore" OUGHGHGGHGHGHGH MUSIC ANON HOLD ME AGAIN
Luka This song was so sad but knowing why she made it made me physically hold back my tears, especially the voice note at the end?? :((( Her lyrics, and the video description, I was teary-eyed reading it. The chorus is so heartwrenching (;﹏;) "I'm always pulled back to your soul" (´;︵;`)
Tarantula Girl This song reminded me of the time I was 13 and listening to Three Days Grace or Get Scared omg - I love vampiric love songs!!! GIVE ME MOREEEEEEEE!!! Was head bopping the entire time listening to this!! Also the instrumental scratches the itch in my brain "I kinda want you to stay, gimme the sweetest taste" OOOOUGHHH IM SO ILL also her voice is so good I'm obsessed
Iris, The Goo Goo Dolls — this song gave me SUCH a flashback please FNIERUHGRG I remember the fucking Wattpad trailers with this song, also when I was 15 and I had a crush on a girl in school I put this song in the Spotify playlist I made for her LMAOOOO Such a bop, and one with so many memories!! the OG yearning song for me personally
Cotard's Solution, Will Wood — piano, save me piano. the spookiness of the song made me sway a little in my seat while listening to this but then it got more and more unhinged and the way the vocals and instrumentals matched up with each other??? Insane actually!! "Sha na na na na na, free will!" made me giggle The song reminded me of old animes that I could never watch because my mom disapproved of my uncle's anime CD stash but specifically that one old anime about that vampire Van Hellsing? The vibes!!!
Laufey —
This is how it feels (& d4vd) I'm gonna be honest, I never actually listened to Laufey - no reason, just never got the time too so this list made me so excited!!! d4vd's voice reminds me of Disney Prince's serenading oh lord, so good. Then Laufey's voice joins in with the piano??? The yearning?? The violins?? You're out to get me, music anon, aren't you??? (this reminded me of satosuguynkento - "sorry for leaving like that, you don't deserve to get caught in my mess. loving you is just so difficult, i don't know how i should tell you that. I've fallen for somebody else, happened so quickly i lost myself. a shadow of you drifts by my window" especially. I'm going insane, I'm unwell, I'm ill.)
Promise THIS SONG??? EVERY TIME A FUCKING JJK EDIT CAME ON WITH THIS SONG, ESPECIALLY THE LYRICS "I've done the math-" SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING!!! Okay, but the lyrics? The instrumentals? Laufey better be ready to be charged with my therapy bill, I cannot do this anymore, I'm physically ill(er). another song that reminded me of satoyn - "Honestly, I didn't think about How we didn't say goodbye Just see you very soon It hurts to be something It's worse to be nothing with you" I'm deceased.
Let you break my heart again Just so you know, I had this song on loop when I "broke up" with my 4-year long situationship and sobbed my eyes out. It also me realize I have in fact listened to Laufey and she will most definitely be sent my psychotherapy bills.
A Night to Remember I braced myself for this song because so far it has not looked good for my mental health but I was greeted with such a smooth jazzy introduction and seductive songs and lyrics and I cautiously let my guard down. This song playing makes me think of two characters dancing in those wood, smokey, wine-glass-filled clubs. Made me think of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, lmao. The orchestra rising and falling in the background - oh god, I had to pace my room while listening to this. The vocals, the sultry tone, the instruments in the background OUHGHGHGHGHGGH I'm so gonna write something based off this song it's too good, I wish to consume it.
Can't Love You Anymore, IU — Nation's Little Sister never misses!!! I was preparing for a back-and-forth angry singing, but the resigned yet spiteful lyrics being delivered so smoothly made me go insane!!! "When I see you, I keep seeing myself in you, and I hate it" OUEUEUEUEEUE YOU WANT ME TO EXPLODE!!!! "I don't think we're in love anymore," the casual way they just sing it OUGH OUGHHHHHHH Like you expect things to be more explosive or dramatic, but the way it just happens and they're just tryna ignore it, hopes something sparks but it doesn't???? If I didn't read the lyrics, I'd honestly just bop to this in a cafe.
Please Don't, K.Will — THE FAMOUS MUSIC VIDEO LMAO. I honestly never read the lyrics to the song and watched the MV one time so it was such a pleasant time revisiting this masterpiece. The yearning, the pleading to not be left and the panic he feels as his lover grows more and more distant??? Ough hold me again please music anon,,,,,
Usher —
You make me wanna… The juxtaposition of Usher's songs next to the previous ones made me wipe away my tears and get ready to body roll seductively. The casual mention of infidelity and the infamous girl-best-friend syndrome oh lord, the lyrics feel so wrong but the vocals and the song make you feel less guilty. Do you think Satoru played this song when he was boinking Suguru while YN was depressed in the background, lmao?
Nice & Slow Usher whispering in my ear about coming over to my house made me think of those boyfriend ASMR videos and IDK how I feel about it LMAO This song plays when an early 2000s rom-com movie introduces a hot guy with cheekbones for days and also wears a scarf for no reason other than fashion (we respect it tbh).
Like A Boy, Ciara — Her spelling her name in the beginning was so cunty. ALSO, I KNEW THIS SONG SOUNDED FAMILIAR AND THE CHORUS PLAYED AND I WAS INSTANTLY HEAD BOPPING!!!
The Boy is Mine, Brandy & Monica — Had to immediately pace my room for this song, the edits playing in my brain making me go insane all over again. Such a classic tbh, should put this song in a national treasure vault so that when aliens find the carcass of our planet they can also bop to this song.
Medicine, Queen Najia — "Give you a taste of your own medicine," I love it when women succeed and enact their revenge. "imma leave you crying," OUGH IM IN LOVE! Also, I had a feeling this song trended on Tiktok and the "not for you, but for him" popped up BUT I NEVER KNEW IT CAME FROM SUCH A CUNTY SONG???? LOVE IT SO MUCH!!
#★彡 — 🎶 anon#kissing you on the forehead music nonnie#thank you so much for introducing me to all these new artists and songs!!!#UAGGHHGGHGHGH LOVE U SM!!!

Finally crying over wilbur soot, and I guess that's progress
For those that haven't followed my random untagged text posts, because there's like a thousand of them why would you, wilbur is one of the biggest influences on my life. He's connected, unintentionally, to so many of my very few happy memories of my developmental years and that USED to be a point of pride. My favorite youtube video from my favorite youtuber, one of the only people who could really make me laugh, was a collab with soothouse where wilbur was at the forefront. I remember the nice guy ballad and Karen please come back from middle school, which is a feat when your brain has repressed so many memories!!!!
His jubilee line series/ album was a focus for me on my trip to England to see family, and was the song playing when I realized I was content for the first time after six long years of violent depression where I wanted to kill myself at least weekly, where I was convinced I would be dead by a certain (young) age. Countless other memories. And he's one straw away from the final fucking straw, of so many of my happy moments being discredited and ruined. I wanted to listen to muffin, so I did, and ynb popped up. I tried the first six seconds and I couldn't, it made me want to throw up. The fucking betrayal I felt, when I vividly remember the feeling of community and belonging from the premiere, the bright day, the ache in my back from sitting on the floor next to my computer. I felt so full, and it feels like he really fucking emptied that out of me. First it was the reddit group in 2018s disbandment, then it was kwite and the stupid quick action, then it was dream ruining the dream smp, and now it's wilbur spanning nearly eight whole years of sparse memories. If quackity turns out to be violent, or manipulative, or shitty, I don't know what I'll do. I really don't.
It's not even the fact that he's abusive, because if I couldve avoided him and his music, if I knew, it would be different. it's the fact that he lied. He lied to all of us, to me. He pretended to be a good person. Wilbur soot lied to us, to me, as being a safe channel and a good fucking person. Why couldn't he just be honest? Why did he have to throw it in our fucking faces? I will never be able to relive or remind myself of the FIRST moment I was ever content with life after SIX years of terrible everyday, weekly bullying, of summers spent without showers and crying in my bed at four am, of so little sleep that I ended up waking at six pm every day without that song. Yes it's selfish, but this is my blog and frankly I think I'm allowed to be upset about this fucking third violation of trust in a year.
It's everyone, it's skydoesminecraft, it's aphmau, lionmaker, it's every creator I've ever dared to find enjoyment in and it sucks!!!!!! It just sucks!!!!!!!!!! And it hurts, and it's hard, I just fucking hate it and I hate him and I kind of want him to die, not really, but kind of because how dare you. How dare you taint so much of me. How dare you. How dare you How dare you How dare you. How dare you hurt someone like that. How dare you lie about it. How dare you pretend at being safe. How dare you.
Shelby didn't deserve that. She really didn't. We didn't deserve lies. We really didn't. No one deserved anything. I was so, so excited about lovejoy concerts, not because of lovejoy but because of WILBUR and what he represented to young me. The lovejoy pins. The songwriting. The inspiration. The joy, the laughter. Videos with technoblade, videos that had wilbur, ( the liar, the creep, the abuser) in them. Techno meant, means everything to me. He's tainted that too. And I'm so fucking mad, and I want to scream, and I hate this man I really do. Why did you have to do it? Why couldn't I have your songs off in my memories? Why couldn't I have never known you? Because YOU lied, and YOU hurt people. And that's the situation of so many of us right now, and i hate this stupid fucking loser so much because of it. Get kicked in the shins and knock your knee out, and have it be a reminder that you chose to be THIS fucking asshole the rest of your life.
With the most viscious voice I can muster, @sootings FUCK you
#tw vent#tw suicide#tw depression mention#do NOT go in here unless you want to hear my sad evil little thoughts because i just cried for half an hour

@smileymoth tagged me to post the 5 songs i've been obsessed with lately/just been listening to a lot so like true early-web fashion I shall be doing just that 1. The Bug Collector - Haley Heynderickx; It's just such a nice and sad little song that I accidentally stumbled upon, great chords, great lyrics, bittersweet melancholy beloved 2. Jubilee Line - Wilbur Soot; I discovered the song before going to London and it made me obsessed 3. Sunday Mornins - aWannabe; Angry sad song go brrrr 4. Digital Silence - Peter McPoland; I shamefully blame TikTok audio bringing me to this 5. Calisto - HoFFeN; I just stumbled upon this band and it is so nice, very different from the rest on this list
I don't really know who to taG but feel free to do this yourself and tag me because I love to see people do this<3

No prev cos you’re right, someone in Lovejoy was a panic! Fan and it’s been driving me up the wall for ages!!!
From Panic! At The Disco’s “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time” we have…
And Lovejoy’s “Consequences”
Like right!!! Same silly word play!!! Same joke!!!! I mean it’s not a big issue, I feel like it’s either two different artists having the same idea (cos it isn’t that unique of a joke.. oooo I’m drunk, I’m mixing my words up hahaha) or whoever writes the line in consequences just subconsciously took a little too much inspiration from a Panic! song.
The one that tickles me a lot is from Jubilee line..
Classic line, hits hard, has made me very emotional many times.
Anyway, Miserablia from Wilbur Soot’s favourite band Los Campansino’s ends on this line..
:)
Seen some people talking about Lovejoy and Wilbur Soot’s music and feeling very upset about letting go of those songs since they brought a lot of comfort and joy.
I’m not gonna tell you what you should and shouldn’t do. I think it’s ultimately up to you to decide if you want to continue listening to Wilbur’s music or not. What I am gonna do is list some alternative artists that I either think have similar vibes or I know Wilbur / Lovejoy had cited as inspirations so you guys can find some new tunes without stepping too far out of you comfort zone.
(Also feel free to tag on and add your own suggestions as well, the more the merrier)
Lovejoy
Arctic Monkeys — when Wilbur started the band he claimed he wanted to be like the Arctic Monkeys one day. I’ve also described a lot of their later music as being very similar to Arctic Monkeys, so if you like Wake Up and It’s over and Normal People Things then you’d love them
Los Campansino’s — Wilbur has stated before that this is his favourite band so.. very likely big inspiration for his music. Lovejoy did a cover of Knee Deep at ATP, their version is a bit more chill than the original. I’m a big Los Campansino’s fan honestly, but for stuff Lovejoy related I’ve say the albums “Sick Scenes” and “Romance Is Boring” would have the most appeal.
Wet Leg — just a good band that I think has a similar vibe, especially with themes and funky tunes. Also I’ve seen Wilbur list them in his personal playlists before so he enjoys them as well
Good Kid — not a personal favourite of mine, but their songs have similar vibes and they toured with Lovejoy as well so Lovejoy enjoy their music.
James Marriot — friend of Wilbur’s (do with that information as you will) excellent musician and would heartily recommend his music if you haven’t listened already. Also worked very closely with the band before, especially in the early days so I wouldn’t doubt they’ve influenced each others music quite a bit
MSR and YCGMA
100gecs and other hyperpop artists — admittedly not a genre I listen to a lot, but if you liked Dropshipped Cat Shirt, especially the ending, then you’ll vibe with this genre a lot.
Jack Stauber — Wilbur’s been a longtime fan of his music, it’s a bit weird and silly on a surface level but nice and miserable as well. If you like MSR I’d recommend.
Crywank — helped Wilbur with producing MSR, plus I think Wilbur took some heavy inspiration from them as well. If you like miserable music you’ll love Crywank. (Also Lovejoy did a cover of privately owned, so if you liked that go check out the original)
More Los Campansino’s — ok.. I’m repeating bands now, but I’m recommending different albums this time! “We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed” “Hello Sadness” and “No Blues”
Peach Pit — again, not a favourite of mine but they have nice chill vibes and the songs I’ve listened to are just as miserable as these albums.
Beabadoobee — once again, not someone I listen to a lot, but definitely got the same chill acoustic music as YCGMA especially, Lovejoy had done a cover of The Perfect Pair so if you liked that, and you like these albums you’d like beabadoobee.
E-girl Trilogy / comedy music
Bo Burnham — another favourite artist of Wilbur’s, someone else he’s cited as an inspiration and top tier comedy tunes! If you like Wilbur’s sadder music as well you’d definitely enjoy Inside. Otherwise his older music is great and very fun!
Lemon Demon — probably not an inspiration for Wilbur’s comedy music, but he’s definitely listened to it, it’s very fun and silly, also Ranboo highly recommends (as do I)
Other recommendations
Modern Baseball — found this band through Wilbur’s recommendations, they’re very fun and cool. Very Midwest emo, a genre that I think inspired MSR.
The Front Bottoms.. but with a warning — so I’m not super familiar with the story, but from memory a former member abused a fan, they aren’t apart of the band anymore but the current members handled the situation very poorly. This was another favourite band of Wilbur’s and I get why, very emotional and angsty. I find their lyrics hit a bit harder than Modern Baseball’s but they make very similar music.
AJJ — kinda similar to Crywank, another band I found through Wilbur’s recommendation.
Radiohead / the smiths / the cure / the strokes / just 70’s and 80’s alt rock bands — Wilbur definitely enjoys this music and took inspiration here and they’re all very cool and fun. I’m not super familiar with these bands but I know a lot from this time have good old controversies so be mindful of that, but yeahhh good music!
I don’t know how but the found me — alt/indie rock band with very fun tunes! Sits alongside Wilbur’s comedy music and Lovejoy in my playlists a lot of the times so.. if you like those two you’d probably like this band :) also Dallon Weekes deserves all the love in the world, all his former bandmates (Brendon Urie and Ryan Seaman) keep fucking him over.
Cavetown — not sadboy acoustic like YCGMA but very chill and good acoustic tunes nonetheless. Also a bit similar to Beabadoobee so if you like that you’ll like this :) oh also, i know a lot of people liked Lovejoy cos they gave off a lot of aromantic vibes, Cavetown is openly Aro / Ace so.. lots of aro vibes in his music :D
Yotam Perel — Wilbur used his music in the background of his streams, typically the album "Nice Snakes" but he used "A Long List of Short Songs" as well. It's great background music honestly, some songs have entered my top 100 playlists on spotify, but yeah, if you liked the funky tunes in the back of the geoguessr streams, this is what he played
#los campansino’s do it better#not even in a bias *I hate Wilbur* way#I think screaming that line at the top of your lungs hits way harder than Wilbur’s softer lyrics#anyway… none of this is what you said lol#I fucking adore old panic!!#I’m a fan of Pretty Odd myself#but AFYCSO is objectively the best and Vices and Virtues goes hard too!!

salut have music questions
📣 A lyric that feels like it is specifically calling you out
🩹 A song you want to hear when you're feeling low
🧼 What you sing in the shower
🥲 A song that makes you cry
🧑🎨 A musical artist where you drop everything to hear their latest work mental image
🌃 A song for night time
🥳 An album you'd put on for a party
Salut this is very late
📣 a lyric that feels like it is specifically calling you out
Honestly? Idk. I don't feel like any lyric has ever really called me out. At least not 100%, in a way that would be a satisfying answer to this. It's honestly what made me take so long with the answer - I was trying to come up with a song for this question.
🩹 A song that you want to hear when you're feeling low
When I'm sad, I always put on Eli the Barrow Boy or The Engine Driver by The Decemberists. I guess I was sad one day while listening to that and it just stuck as the "sad songs" for me.
🧼 What you sing in the shower
Almost any aria I've ever had to sing really - the normal rotation is English art songs or Mozart opera. And stuff from musicals I like, or smth like that. I remember being really into singing My Jolly Sailor Bold in the shower for a while.
🥲 A song that makes you cry
I'm in a "Dido and Aeneas" production rn so When I am laid in earth has really been hitting hard despite me not actually vibing with the plot, characters, or music in the opera. But my normal answer is Wilbur Soot's Jubilee Line, which I also don't like that much tbh.
🧑🎨 A musical artist where you drop everything to hear their latest work
If The Mechanisms came back to life and released a new album you would not hear from me for a few days.
🌃 A song for night time
Very straightforward answer but Silk Skin Lovers' Late night Waltz? It just really captures that feeling of being kinda sleepy as you're heading home after having fun and hanging out with people in the evening/night. Idk how else to describe it.
🥳 An album you'd put on for a party
My normal answer is Orion Experience's Cosmicandy but can you imagine being at a party and hearing HIGH NOON OVER CAMELOT THE FLUORESCENT SUN BEAT DOWN OVER THE RUSTED METAL WASTELAND-

4, 6, 10, 11, 17, 21, 30
For the favorites ask!
shade of green?
This-ish!! Deep moss green :D
It reminds me of a good juice drink :) So whenever I see the color I think, “yummy!”
hour of the night?
Mmm… perhaps 11? It feels late enough to be fun but not late enough for me to think, “aw crap I should be asleep by now” XD
sad song?
!!!
I LIKE SO MANY SAD SONGS OH MY GOSH
Turning Out by AJR (beautiful and relatable and gahhhh <3 one of my favorites!)
I Miss The Days by NF (probably my favorite, or one of my favorite, songs by this artist! A new discovery :D)
Chronically Cautious by Braden Bales (also a new discovery! These sounds are like… gosh and the way the lyrics are formatted… it’s so satisfying to my ears yes yes)
Sorry - acoustic by Nothing But Thieves (YES!!! SO GOOD!!! SHOULD BE IN A MOVIE!!! MAKES THE MIND IMAGES GO BRRRR)
Lion’s Den by Grace Vanderwaal (the raw vocals… yes)
What Could Have Been by Sting (VIOLIN VIOLIN VIOLIN!!!)
My Play by AJR (AAAAAAAAAAA)
Jubilee Line by Wilbur Soot (knowing the story behind this song makes it much, much sadder)
I know that’s far more than one, but I like all of them 😅
character from a book?
Most likely Will from What About Will, by Ellen Hopkins :D
He’s so freaking stupid lol, but he’s also hurting and he just wants help but he sucks at asking for it, and a lot of the time he’s not a good guy, but he’s young and he’s been through a lot and deep down he loves his brother and oughhh
There’s also much angst and whump when it comes to him >:)
animated film/tv show?
YES ANIMATION!!! I MUCH PREFER ANIMATION TO LIVE-ACTION YES!!!
For films, it’d probably be Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron or Luca! Spirit because I watched it multiple times a week for like two years when I was 9-10, and pretty much have the whole movie memorized, and it’s just GOOD!!! And Luca because there’s PLATONIC MALE RELATIONSHIPS and BEST FRIENDS and EMOTIONS and WONDERFUL MUSIC and EEEEEEEEEE
For shows, I’d go with The Bad Batch, I think :) It’s a special show for me, even though I’m not a fan of a lot of the episodes lol
ending in fictional media?
Good question!!
Hmm… I think the ending in Crater (new disney movie) was phenomenally done; it made me gasp really loudly when I Realized what was happening XD
Ooooh and the ending for Inception was 😭 It made me question reality for a couple days, not gonna lie.
What About Will’s ending was really good, but open-ended and I have QUESTIONS ACK WHAT HAPPENSSSSSSS TO THE BOYS!!! It made my brain start spinning with ideas though, and I love it when media does that to me :D
I’m gonna be honest, I really wanted to put down a DSMP ending, but I don’t much like… any of the endings XD
book shorter than 300 pages?
I’m not sure how to answer this, because I don’t usually keep track of how long books are XD
I’ll go with The One and Only Ivan or The Road, though :)

Jubilee Line: Mental Health in a Polluted Society
TW: Discussion of mental health and suicide.
When I started my on-site classes I moved from a small rural commune to the big city and went from a house with a green garden and fresh air to a small flat with a dirty balcony and so much pollution that it was tiring to walk to the supermarket. It was hard, no doubt, to lose some of that childlike wonder for the big city. To see that behind all the brightness and the people there is a lot of noise, a lot of grime, and a lot of pessimism.
One afternoon, while travelling on the tube, the carriage comes to a sudden halt. The emergency lights are the only thing illuminating all of us inside as the driver informs us that there was an emergency power cut because someone was on the tracks. I had heard of this happening in Santiago, but I thought it was an isolated event and something that would worry everyone. Instead, I find that it’s a disturbingly common event and that most of the people in the carriage couldn’t care less. With complaints that they would be late for something or snorts of frustration, the fact that someone ended their life on the very tracks we were travelling on seemed no more than an inconvenience.
Mental health is a tricky issue to tackle in Chile. According to the Chilean Security Association and the UC Centre, one in ten Chileans is undergoing some form of mental health treatment. Against that, we are the fourth country in Latin America with the highest suicide rate; and it is something we see every day, from the blue tents in the Costanera Center to situations in the tube like the one described above.
And what about the rates during the COVID pandemic? The quarantine and stressful situation put pressure on even the most resilient, and amidst all this mess of anxiety and panic attacks came an album that not only perfectly encapsulated the essence of capital cities and their pessimism, but also how they deal with mental health issues.
“Your City Gave Me Asthma” (YCGMA) is the debut album - though he had earlier songs like “I’m Love With an E-Girl” and “Internet Ruined Me” - by Wilbur Soot, an English Twitch streamer who had lately gained popularity with a Minecraft series and his interactions with other streamers on the platform.
Wilbur, up to this point, had devoted himself to satirical songs mocking stereotypes on the internet. And while his audience already had suspicions that the man was dealing with mental health issues, this album confirmed it and in the process related his views on romantic relationships, his deep hatred of London and its pollution, and suicides.
Although the whole album is a marvel - Soot may not have the voice of an angel, but his skill with the acoustic guitar and the casualness with which he sings give his songs a real feel - this time I will focus on the first song on the album: “Jubilee Line”.
“Jubilee Line” is named after a line on the London Underground and is a critique of the city’s pollution and the problem with suicides in the city. Soot explains that during his time in London, he developed a chronic cough that evolved into signs of initial asthma from the smog; a situation that would give the album its name. Along with this, people’s indifference and annoyance at suicide on the underground lines surprised him.
“Jubilee Line, I’ve said about before, is just a song about how, like, when you’re in London and anywhere that uses a big mass transit public transportation system. There’s um, there’s quite a big suicide problem. […] So, the London underground thing is, like, the third highest, uh, cause of suicide. I think it’s after Golden Gate Bridge and like, the forest in Japan at the foot of Mount Fiji. […] So "Jubilee Line” is about how- when someone does take their life on the underground and on the tube network, it’s like almost the only response that commuters and random people will give is, [annoyed groan]. Like, it’s crazy to me. That feels so disconnected from humanity. Disconnect from the human experience that when you find out that someone can’t go on any longer, the only response these people have waiting for their train on the platform is, “Ugh! I’m gonna be late.” […] That hit me in London.“
-Wilbur Soot via Twitch
This is reflected in the song’s lyrics. Verses like ”Wasting your time/You’re wasting mine" speak to this notion that the act of suicide on the tracks is a waste of everyone’s time; “Shout at the wall/‘Cause the walls don’t fucking love you” is about the suicidal person’s cry for help, but even the walls don’t seem to take pity; “There’s a reason/That London puts barriers on the tube line” criticising London’s decision to put barriers on tube lines that only open when the carriage arrives as a solution to stop suicides instead of improving the mental health of the population; and “There’s a reason they fail” referring to these barriers and how they sometimes fail and so people still manage to throw themselves on the railway, giving a melancholic and frustrating ending to the song.
This kind of situation is not confined to London. Santiago suffers the same problems, though perhaps not on the same scale, and made the same decisions. Line 6 of the Santiago underground has barriers on the platform, and the stairs of the Costanera Center have glass barriers, and yet tragedies occur in these places.
Soot makes an incredible commentary on mental health and the negligence of authorities and society, but it doesn’t stop there. Other songs on the album touch on his hypochondriac diagnosis, his disastrous love relationships, and the melancholy of leaving a city that, although it damaged him, was his place of residence for years. It is an incredible piece of music that I invite you to listen to and reflect on the current situation of mental health in the country.
Furthermore, this album has an important value to me because Soot would later explain that he no longer felt represented by most of the songs on YCGMA (except Saline Solution) and that this album was now the property of his fans. That we could interpret the songs however we wanted, and he was happy to know that his lyrics had resonated with so many people.
It is a comfort to walk through the streets of Santiago with this album playing in my headphones and to know that out there there are more people living in polluted, pessimistic cities with worrying mortality rates, but that we all notice these problems and try to improve them day by day. And that maybe one day, just like Wilbur Soot did, I can move to a city that doesn’t give me asthma.

Thought I'd publish some c!Wilbur song lyrics I wrote a year ago one day at like 2 am (a little bit beofre c!Wilbur was revived I think) thinking of an instrumental and rythm heavily inspired by "The chattering lack of common sense" by Ghost and pals (so listen to that, and imagine that most of the song is sung in that tempo)
It was written right around the time c!Wilbur was revived, and it'd been a song talking about his perspective of Pogtopia, the futility of the situation and his narrative view of the world and his role in it
If I ever got the time and learned how to make an instrumental, I'd sing it, or maybe make an acapella, but as is now, I'll just show you all the lyrics
So this is "Pitfalls of a narrative" by Kitsu-katsu:
The pitfalls of a narrative:
-
Ink and pen, paper and quill
Write down the words as the world spins
Weave with them a narrative
(Of rising heroes and their troubles)
-
The tale begins with the first act
The characters presented once
A gleaming trigger flashes by
(The gun is shown, so it must fire)
-
In this game of show not tell
A hero's born to save the day
And for the tale to get on track
Some conflict's needed, how 'bout that?
-
---
-
Once a man is now a beast
A self fulfilling prophecy
Looked in the mirror and saw red
The shattered glass just cut the thread
-
Willing to go and break his bones
With total disregard for all
Self preservation's not a trait
An evil villain must posses
-
From gunpowder to soot to sand
The evil man follows the plan
And if the ones he loves pass by
(He must ignore them for the story)
-
---
-
The tale continues with act two
A festival to bring anew
The cycle of life continues
(And he's the one to go and break it)
-
Flying colours, flashing sounds
Senses overwhelmed throughout
But villain man, he knows his place
It's fixed now and so he can't change
-
---
-
Shouting at barren ravines
"The walls can't love you" is all that's seen
The tragic hero, fallen now
Villain man must tough it out
-
If greek myth's to be believed
The minotaur's slain, Theseus wins
And if you fly close to the sun
Expect a death that burns you out
-
---
-
The story book is getting long
So act three starts to wrap it all
Endings with a bow on top
They tie it all together
-
But don't forget the little fact
The gun shown way back in act one
If Chekhov says it, then it's true
(We need to release the gunpowder)
-
A flashy ending to the tale
Just slay the dragon, say farewell
And if the metal feels too cold
Just remember the fire in it
-
---
-
Played his role, fulfilled his part
Now villain man is turned to ash
And if the dead could say a word
Then it won't matter anymore
-
But maybe in some wretched ravine
Maybe in a giant crater
Lives the spirit of a man
The victim of a narrative
-
Ink and pen, paper and quill
Write down the words as the world spins
Weave with them a narrative
(Of fallen men, and twisted glory)
-
The tale is told around and round
A spinning cycle goes throughout
And as it's told they're plain to see
The pitfalls of a narrative
