soooo that was like 160 hours of major enjoyment with a pretty big let down right at the finish line 💀 it wasn't terrible but it was decidedly very "meh"

I was a bit ambivalent on the whole ~becoming an illithid to defeat the elder brain~ bc I just made orpheus do it lol so it was kinda dumb but I didn't really care

final fight against the brain wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't the best battle of the game either (cazador, raphael, ketheric, gobbo camp, and the iron crown were my favorites). biggest complaint was that your summons... die permanently? I summoned my owlbear thinking it'd be like scratch but no it actually DIED??? I reloaded and said fuck it to any summons I actually cared about and just used yurgir and rolan's airstrike, bc I didn't want to risk them dying :(

but whaaat in the actual heck was that concluding scene???

1) I had karlach die bc I've heard the ending scene w ur love interest is bugged if you don't and she just DISINTEGRATED??? I thought the scene after we killed gortash was waaay more emotionally impactful, the ending didn't really match it in terms of quality. I actually was feeling ok about her death bc I like tragedy (thane lover here) but after watching it I didn't feel much beyond shock

2) what a bad ending scene for poor astarion? I got his romance bit at the end which was admittedly cute but if you didn't have that? he starts to burn, runs off, and nobody seemed bothered by it? just "I doubt we'll see him again anytime soon" like we wouldn't go after him??? to at least say a proper goodbye, not just "so long and good riddance"?? again, just zero emotional impact, which is frustrating bc his scenes carried the most emotional weight in the rest of the game imo

3) why did shart not get any dialogue.... why did fucking minsc of all people, who was in my party for all of 3 quests before the end, get stuff to say but not the girl who's been with me from the beginning? jaheira and halsin got stuff to say too, just generic comments about saving the city?? and there was no recognition that I was in a romance with halsin so that was just a dead end

4) I had a bug where anyone not in my immediate party would show their hats no matter what so most of my party was wearing stupid dumb hats for these "emotional" scenes

5) didn't have a chance to un-wildshape orpheus so he was a fucking displacer beast for the final scene and I had no clue what was happening with him except watching his paws bend in funny ways 🤪

still definitely loved the game, still excited to replay it, but gods above i hope they fix that crap ending. I think its pretty obvious they ran outta time and just slapped something together

at least the power of my imagination will carry me through. can wish spells cure vampirism lmao??? my tav is bard so he just has to stay on that adventuring grind for a few more levels til he can learn it 🥴👌

How do i manifest WITHOUT a method?

Many times, especially when we start this journey to learn how to manifest, we tend to believe that the methods are necessary to manifest. which is not true; the methods and technology are a plus, a premium version, a booster, whatever you want to define them as

On this blog, I explain methods over methods, especially because I generally believe that some methods really help us understand what we have around us and help us be grateful before we reach our desires and be grateful even then.

HOW DO I DO IT?

Every experience is different, and what I am going to write is all to be taken as suggestions because you have to live your own experience, and if you have any problems or struggles, I am here to help. One-by-one, I'm going to explain every step based on my personal experience that still helps me manifest even in my darkest times.

Change of mindset: There HAS to be a change of mindset, and for that, I mean to not self-doubt or doubt your inner potential. You are a star, in the literal sense. We come from the universe; we are part of it. Why should we not listen to the universe? Why should we not listen to ourselves? How do you change the mindset? The way that I changed my mindset is a game of play and pretend. Every time i cauth myself having a negative thought, I replaced it with a vocal or mental one by refusing and changing it into a positive phrase. Example: "I'm manifesting a great body, but I'm still a potato." I catch myself having this thought, "No, it is not true that I look like a potato. Some people will envy my body, and my body does a lot for me! I can only manifest to take care of  it."I replace it with a positive remark.

By changing my mindset, I also bring it into existence: How can we know what we want if we don't speak it or say it clearly, not even to ourselves? How can the universe know? How can we change what we don't know? That's why we have to speak about it, reflect on it, and write about it. The clearer it is in our minds, the better. Let me give you a practical example: Person A (me) and person B (the universe) are friends; person B does something that upsets person A; person A does not say that it is upset about person B's behavior; person B tries to insist because it can be seen that person A is upset about something. Person B and Person A get into a fight because Person A didn't communicate. If person A had been clear about how they felt from the start, person B would have known how to react and help better.

I always had a really active imagination,which is not the same as visualizing, but it helps, so visualizing my dream life was always easy, and I always did that even before I found out what it was. Visualization is something I truly believe you can develop with time too. Becoming able to close your eyes and having scenes play in your head is the most powerful tool that we can have to manipulate our 3D reality. Quick and easy visualization can be done everywhere. (Except if you are driving or working with heavy machinery, be aware of your surroundings and when it is time to manifest or not.)

But the thing that helped me manifest most of all was faking and acting: I faked the most of my confidence and beauty until it became true—until it became my reality. I acted, taking actions towards my manifestation. In this way, not only did I impersonate who I wanted to be, but I also took action as them. Let me be more clear than this: I desire to be A, so I fake being A until I don't believe it. I desire an object, thing, body, etc. and for that I have to take action, i do the action!

How does it feel seeing so many newbies/tourists in the fandom drooling over Robotnik after the movies came out (and made him Skinny), when you've been simping over Game!Robotnik/Eggman long before it was cool?

Oh goddd you don't even know lol. I remember the day jimbotnik was first shown in the trailer thing, posted about it on here then about how empty I felt as I was already sad about it being live action and not CG voiced by Mike Pollock from the start. Then being shocked when people were saying "omg he's hot now, why did they make Eggman hot" and I was like EGGMAN ALWAYS HAS BEEN HOT!!!! and I've been saying that for years!!!! Was a strange feeling being the only opposite, finds game Egg hot but not the movie

Hell, I felt the same when the Boom design was revealed and people said the same then of "they made him hot" like he wasn't already, often just because he wasn't so fat. Don't get me wrong, not taking shots at those who got into the series through movies/Boom and now like game Egg. I'm glad you came to like the beautiful best game canon Egg no matter your introduction, this ain't about you, we have no beef. Though you really should've realized sooner, shouldn't have taken Jim Carrey to do so, you were decades too late smh XD

But the people that were very blatantly, shamelessly, and openly acted like game Eggman is ugly in comparison literally just because he's fat compared to Boom/movie, or bald and has a big nose unlike the movie etc- which are all absolutely gorgeous features- I was judging those hateful people very hard for only liking him when they take literally all his key features away and openly disliking and putting down game Eggman. Especially all the blatant fatphobia that people didn't try to hide or outright admitted to

Now I'm a lot less vocal about my personal distaste of jimbotnik because everyone knows it. Many got the wrong idea thinking I had something against them if they like him so I just try not to speak on it anymore. Obviously people can like what they want, can't say I understand the appeal of it in the absolute slightest but you do you so long as you're not being an asshole towards the reason your beloved movie version exists, the gorgeous perfect best original! You better respect the roots 🔫

I'm also proud to have desired Eggman carnally and to have been simping over him way before it was cool lol. Long before official simps like Thunderbolt/Stone/Starline etc existed and years before both Boom and the movie versions existed. I didn't need a what's widely regarded as a "conventionally attractive" version to exist to recognize Eggman's true beauty, of being a fat and bald old man with a big nose because those are genuinely all features that make me 😍💜💘 Unironically!

I don't care how weird and crazy and unbelievable it may be, I'm just enlightened and powerful in ways they can't comprehend. Honestly I don't really feel like it is considered cool still because it seems it's still considered very weird and unbelievable to find game Eggman hot completely unironically in comparison to jimbotnik and Boom. And I actually like that, still makes it feel more special and exclusive that way XD Like y'all can have them, more of the handsome fat bald evil bastard old man for me hehe

NPMD thoughts! (SPOILERS UNDER CUT)

oh my god. the jump in quality from the digital ticket to the actual edited version is INCREDIBLE. fucking LOVED the details of costumes, the set, the lighting, the writing on the panels... everything was fantastic! starkid has come such a long way and it was incredible to see the seats filled for the show in the edited version!!!

i was really hoping for the boy jerri/girl jerri moment AND the coffee shop bloopers from the digital ticket to be in this one, but every performance is unique and i'm glad we got to experience the new hatchet-town cameos!

one thing i really miss about these new starkid recordings is that we don't get the stage bows :( i would have absolutely loved if they did something akin to TGWDLM in black friday and NPMD, where the credits roll over the footage of the cast bowing and the claps! the bows at the end of a show are always so fun, it's a great moment of catharsis for everyone and seeing the cast smiling and happy is something i missed here. ESPECIALLY WITH THE ENERGY IN THE HOMECOMING DANCE

compared to my first impressions from the digital ticket, this is a huge step up. some songs were a bit hit or miss, but man i was crying at the end about peter and steph. love how, like the other two hatchetverse musicals, the ending note was fucked up! that being said tho i am keen for starkid to move onto another potential parody OR a new IP outside of the hatchetverse. i'm super keen to see what the future holds for the company! it's absolutely on my bucket list to watch a starkid show live now <3

- yeah like you said the ‘she’ll open her mouth and eat me alive’ at 4:14 in sinner gives me chills

- the ‘i love you i love you i love you’ at the very end of the ballad of the costa concordia always gets me, he says it so softly :( also the ‘i give up’ refrain right before that last verse is so good

- the whole refrain in the second half of beach fagz but especially the ‘i wish i was a kid with an adult boyfriend’ at 4:40 into the ‘i wish i was dead / i wish oh i wish’ refrain all the way through the end

ANDDD the screams starting at 13:24 omg. like i can literally taste the catharsis

- the ‘they were connected / at the back of the head’ part at 3:20 of twin fantasy (those boys). also the whole ‘when i come back you’ll still be here’ part but an absolute all time favorite is the ones in the background at 5:39 and 5:47 . makes me feel physically sick every single time no matter how many times i listen to it

Favourite KPOP Songs of 2023

So I am 3 days late posting this but I wanted to do it to keep up the tradition. It's fun looking back at old lists. My criteria isn't so much based on technical merit but rather the songs that I wanted to listen to over and over again for whatever reason.

Cupid by Fifty Fifty. No doubt, this is social media's song of the year. I have never seen a song that is actually good become so organically viral, only to be reduced to absolutely nothing because of abysmal management. Not even New Jeans was this widespread this year (to me). Cupid was playing at my local supermarket and even people who know nothing about kpop loved this song. It ranks low for me because I'm definitely sick of hearing it by now. Regardless, it is still a very well written pop song.

Ayo by NCT 127. Okay, hear me out: NCT is like durian. You either completely understand why it is called the King of Fruits or you think I should be put in jail for saying that. If you are a brave connoisseur who refuses to be confined by societal pressure, then know what it's like to open your third eye and consume NCT for what they are: completely weird but never boring. It's an experience. If you don't get it, I don't know what to tell you.

Tinnitus by TXT. Temptation is my least favourite TXT album from the last 3 years but I think that is mostly due to how much I hated Sugar Rush Ride. I've been re-listening to a lot of their material again and okay, I'll give this one a pass: it's a mood. Thanks Kang Taehyun. I don't know if it was very intentional but his voice is all I hear on the final version. Man, that dude's voice always gets me somehow, I don't know how he does it.

Rover by Kai. It's not even that good of a song and yet, it was everywhere and I was gaslit into liking it. The viral dance made it the hit it became but to be fair, much of this was really down to his star power and ability to make really good choices that suit his strengths (dance first, vocals second). This is EXO Kai we are talking about after all; when he delivers, he really delivers. New Gen boys can take some notes.

Drama by Aespa. This is like Asian Junk Food. It's objectively so terrible, full of empty calories, no nutritional value but they took the Terrible and sprinkled MSG on it, so now it's TastyTerrible. As someone who wants to learn film editing, the MV is excellent and an example of top tier editing without choppy cuts. I have not noticed editing this neat and time consuming since Seventeen's 'HOT'.

Back To Me by The Rose. A group with solid talent and well written songs. I wish every success for them to be honest. I am posting the live video because they are one of those groups who are better live and won't give you The Fear watching it. I wish I could've seen them because I genuinely just love their voices and sound. They've filled the void left behind by Day 6.

Hard by Shinee. It's just your typical weird and perfect Shinee pop song but with a distinctly 90s flavour in my opinion. They are just all so talented that it's virtually impossible to ignore them. SM production is always so slick but with Shinee it is something to gild the lily rather than hard carry the entire song and group. Onew vocals never takes a day off, he was flawless even in the raw recordings.

Kitsch by IVE. It's just so cute and comforting in the way a harmless little pop song can be. It's like a fresh breeze. There's no pressure to do anything but enjoy it. In the absence of Blackpink, they are definitely my favourite girl group at the moment.

This World by Ateez. I do actually prefer it to Bouncy because it has that dystopian and almost gothic feel to it. I don't think it would've made a good title track because it's not as explosive as Bouncy but it 100% would fit into a movie or montage sequence. It absolutely goes so hard in the car, especially at night.

Flower by Jisoo. I think this was just a very smart choice for her and her team. It did not have anything too complex or overly dramatic. It suits her elegance and brand perfectly. It was also very pleasant and kinda of prettily boring? The dance was very popular and cute without being obnoxious. She is very much a Great Gowns Beautiful Gowns and "Go on girl, give us nothing!" idol but I have a soft spot for her. I can't believe we live in a world where Jisoo has the best Blackpink solo song.

3D (Alternate Version) by Jungkook. I did not like it when it was released (with that awful rap feature) but the purely Jungkook and performance versions of it really improved everything. I am really happy that Golden is as good as it is, because I think most Jungkook stans from 2013 lived in fear he would only release Mid Tier pop songs. I think most features on the album are unnecessary. Jungkook has presence and star power on his own. Everything else diluted what we all came for.

Blue Blood by IVE. It's an unexpectedly more mature sound from them and I loved it. I think the driving backing track makes this one of the best driving songs. It has this dark eloquence to it, which I always vibe with. One of their best B sides for sure.

Off The Record by IVE. This was the best track off their album this year. That title track was heinous. OTR was so calm and comforting and there is something about it that reminded me of Gfriend and OhMyGirl where it's just a good song with any histrionics. I do not think IVE suit that bad girl crush concept at all. They always had this expensive High Teen aura and it really took at hit with Baddie imo.

Ring (Unplugged/Acoustic Version) by TXT. This isn't cheating, they released this one on a July 2023 album. Even if it was cheating, I would've still put it on here. It's well written, well produced, well paced and suits everyone in the group. But personally, I always saw this as a Kang Taehyun song (even though he didn't even write it). His aura is all over it. Controversial opinion but I think this has one of Yeonjun's best rap verses because the slower tempo works so much better for his voice and flow.

Crazy Form by Ateez. Ah the Male version of Junk Food with MSG. I don't think it's anywhere near their best song but it's a good fun time and after the tough year(s) we have all had, it's nice to jam to something silly. It's very SKZ adjacent but in my opinion, with much better production and editing because the team behind Ateez are better at it. I'm also including this because it made me really see Jeong Yunho. If you know you know.

Roll With Me by Hyungwon/Shownu. Technically The H/S version of Wildfire is my favourite from them this year but since it wasn't official, I'll go with my second favourite release. It once again proves that Hyungwon is my favourite man (musically) in Monsta X. I like his style, tastes and instincts. It's true that he is my overall favourite in MX but I'm mature now! It's not just the visuals, I truly put his musical output as the number 1 reason I like him.

Standing Next To You by Jungkook. Listen, listen, listen.....I have been following this dude since 2013. I always KNEW he could give more and be more. Even though SNTY isn't even 100% of what I think he can do, it was enough for me to feel all these 10 years were not wasted lol. This deserved this stop purely for the instrumentation and production value alone. Granted, it is very westernised but good music is good music. This is the only time where a feature (remix) actually added something.

Silver Light by Ateez. The sister to Cyberpunk. It is really like its title: a sparkling God Ray of light that cuts through the darkness. It's mysterious but also so hopeful and comforting. They just scraped in with this at the last minute but it is already one of my absolutely favourite Ateez songs. Instant love from 1st listen. The type of song I wish I was more conscious and present for so I could go back to experience it again for the first time. Park Seonghwa supremacy because this is now a song I associate with him. He's not even my Ateez bias but he is my favourite and the most important Ateez member to me. How that works, I do not know.

My favourite song of 2023:

Chasing That Feeling by TXT. They achieved the trifecta in 2023 for me: favourite song, favourite lyric, favourite choreography. I'm not even going to link to the official MV because the choreography needs to be seen unobstructed and undiluted. This is the type of song that I barely have any critiques on (and if I did, they would all be minor). The type of song that I would put as my bio. The type of song I want my best friend to play at my funeral. This era was also the one that pushed Choi Soobin into my life when he knew damm well that my heart has been closed for business for the last 12 months. The power this song had on me was all consuming and cannot be overstated, ok?

I’m just backscrolling the blog at the moment and I’m adoring all the cursed headcanons so here’s my prime ones from the Many Thoughts I have on the toy soldier

If you cut it open you’ll find an anatomical diagram cross section. It’s solid wood but the “organs” are colored wood that is attached seamlessly within normal colored wood as if it grew that way

Alternately, it’s hollow and its wooden organs just rattle around in there stacked up in its legs, including the stolen vocal cords

My most favorite is that it’s whatever the space version of autistic is (this is called projecting <3) and so decided during the war that following orders was a pleasant way of going about life and decided to never stop. It’s capable of disobeying, especially if the order is Uncool. when it worked as a nymph (sex worker) it genuinely wanted to do what it was doing and got wooden-upset that people thought they had to *order* it to do its JOB, who did they think it was?

Also it has the power (in certain horror AUs) to turn other things around it to smooth carved wood

I already have some ideas for the arachnikids Sayu crew AU: -Gwen would do Yua’s voice and mocap -Gayatri and Pav work on Renho, and Pav even can work on altering reality for the mermaids’ stage (does Renho have siren powers?) -Aoi and… Miles or Peni? (Miles likes singing for sure) -Haru and… hmmm…

In this version you are proposing, I don't know if Renho would have siren powers (or what looks like siren powers since technically Gayatri is not a siren but her powers mimic their abilities). Mainly because I haven't decided if those powers need to be seen live to work or not.

And by live I mean in person. I personally don't think siren/vocal manipulation powers should be able to work through technology, or at the very least new tech shouldn't allow that. Because it just makes things really fucked up if a person with siren powers made a video and was able to control or convince people to do stuff whenever it was watched (and that would become worse if it became a viral video). But also since the mermaids are all digital or holograms, I just don't think Gayati's powers would actually work other than people just thinking her voice is objectively very nice.

I did see your Pav point and was influenced by that when I was writing my version of this AU. I don't think he can alter virtual spaces with his powers (that would be more Peni's place or maybe even Margo power-wise, otherwise it is the editors like Sofa doing that).

However! I do think that Pav could alter the live stage of performances! If he's not working on mo-cap in this version (or they figure a way how to have him multi-task). So like, if the mermaids are holograms or have robotic bodies and are performing on stage, Sofa can't do much unless they have huge screens to represent the virtual world of the mermaids. This would be where Pav absolutely shines and is able to create a more immersive performance for the fans (probably has to not be a mo-cap person at this time to make sure he is fully concentrated).

I did kinda think about having Miles be one of the voices for the mermaids (possibly Aoi since Aoi did end up using he/they in my version of them but still wanted to look feminine), however, I think these teens would have wanted to keep things more "feminine" and consistent (which is why Gwen does voice therapy) because they were unconsciously trying to copy 1010 a bit, and at the time 1010 was 5 male robots with male voices, so the mermaids would be 5 (or however many mermaids they wanted) female mermaids with female voices to them.

Maybe one day they will add a side character or another merm that Miles would be able to voice OR he is a backup vocal that doesn't actually have a character (or is a generic merm for the main mermaids to interact with) which allows him to sing with the others (especially duets with Yua/Gwen's mermaid lol).

Peni definitely can't be a mermaid's vocal before joining NSR because all of kits energy, concentration, and power will be needed to make sure the holograms of the mermaids are working properly. If the team joins NSR with like 3 mermaids (like I was gonna have them before wanting to add Ganke and Peni more into the story lol), I can see Peni, and maybe Miles, getting to be the voices for the 2 extra mermaids added since now they have proper tech for the holograms to work without Peni constantly having to be the controller for them.

I really appreciate Lari for thinking up this plan, because it's something she's mulled over for months, for the sole purpose of figuring out something to ensure Rupert's happiness in the future. She has no idea that SHE's the source of his happiness, so she worked hard thinking of an alternative: which is for him to have the love and support of his people. Lari recalls that in TL1, the people LOVED Rupert at the start and he enjoyed massive popularity because it was a "rags to riches" story the public could get behind: A young crown prince who had a weak support system because the Empress Eva didn't have much political presence, and so had decided to hide him as a princess for most of his life. In that time, he built up power silently and stole the position of Crown Prince from the favorite, Arnulf. Rupert dazzled the people with his good looks, riches, and ability - after all, the people wanted someone powerful who could lead them, and Rupert fit the bill.

However, shortly after Rupert became Emperor, his popularity plummeted drastically after news of him murdering all of his political enemies came to light. From the public's perspective, the murdered all his enemies in cold blood, thus earning him the title of "bloodthirsty emperor". At that time, Arnulf was aways a favorite of the people, he was outwardly kind did volunteer work, pretending to care for the people. His supporters were vocal in how the Crown Prince position was stolen from him, and after he was executed, the public started being vocal against Rupert, and rumors exploded of how the Empire will be destroyed, Arnulf should have become the Emperor instead. Rupert's reputation was in the trash, especially after he started going after the Noble faction that didn't support him, including House Belois. He had solidified his reputation as the Tyrant Emperor, and absolutely NO one cared about him or supported him. So he ruled with force and intimidation until the end (presumably). In the novel version of this chapter, but also in key moments like in manhwa chapter 60,

Lari realized how stupid she was, as a sheep that blindly believed all the rumors. Just like everything else in TL2, whatever she believed in TL1 had a different side to it. There was ALWAYS something more to the story. In this case, she felt so bad for Rupert: He had lived his whole life without love or support from anyone, and literally, all he wanted to do was to survive in this cruel world. He was always abused and belittled as a princesses, and then a target of assassination from Arnbach's faction (the queen, arnulf, nigelle) as crown prince and emperor. They were smart - they didn't leave any traces of their involvement because they too, feared the scrutiny of the people and to sentenced for treason. He's suffered years of this, but of course, the people didn't know. He was justified in striking back in TL1 once he had the power to do so, but the people didn't know this. All they saw is him cruelly murdering his enemies without knowing his years of suffering from their hands, because Arnbach's faction had done such a great job garnering support for years already. It was pretty obvious Rupert was the culprit as well. Lari knows that the moment Rupert loses the support of the people, it would be hard for him to earn it back because he'll forever have the title of "cruel, murderous Emperor". When this happens, he will truly be alone and without anyone's love or support. So knowing this, Lari proposes that he show mercy/spare the Queen and Arnulf.

... Of course Rupert is like ?? what She explains that the one they have to watch out for is the Queen (+ by extension, Duke Arnbach her father), because she's the one telling Arnulf what to do. When left alone, Arnulf is just an idiot who can't do anything with the support of his mother (similar to what Countess LeMille said a few chapters ago. The two reached the same conclusion because he's just that idiotic). Then Rupert asks if there's a benefit to him letting Arnulf and the Queen live? Lari responds by saying how there's 3 things to be qualified as the emperor: wealth, military strength, and legitimacy. The only three who meet these criteria Rupert, Arnulf, and Grand Duke Ventibolt. (Rupert and Arnulf being illegitimate children is a secret technically that no one besides the mail characters know, and Grand Duke Ventibolt is the Emperor's brother) Lari reminds Rupert that if one out of the three is taken out, then he can more easily secure his position: In this case, he has to take out/cripple Arnulf and Ventibolt in some way where they can't physically take the throne, or to interfere with their military presence. For example, if Arnulf suffers from an injury but is still alive and unable to rule, then the Queen and Arnbach's faction has no need to push for him to become Emperor, because he can't physically be an Emperor. In both Arnulf/Arnbach and Ventibolt's side, Lari also mentions that Rupert had already infiltrated the military - he just needs to maintain that control, make them think they're stronger than him, but in reality HE's the one in control.

She also wants him to have the support of the people: Rupert, of course doesn't care about their support, and wonders if it's worth it to become a benevolent, wise, merciful Emperor, and Lari just tells him that he shouldn't give up on their love without first experiencing it first. She doesn't know if it'll help his empty feeling go away, but it's something he should try to obtain first.

She ultimately wants him to have it all: Undisputed power and a hold on the throne, humiliating all his enemies and letting them know their place as cowards and insignificant insects who can't come near him with their attempts to steal the crown. She wants him to have a good reputation where the people love, adore and support him with everything they have, and pressuring his enemies with that. Yes, it's EXTREMELY merciful, it's a lot of extra work, it's more dangerous for him, but this is the best she came up with to ensure Rupert's happiness in the future. If anything, next chapter Rupert calls her cruel because her plan involves "humiliating his enemies - they would rather die than live on being publically shamed and seeing how much Rupert is succeeding at being Emperor", and Lari pouts because she thinks he's perhaps disappointed in her because she's so uncharacteristically mean now, but if anything, Rupert falls a bit more in love with this side of her too ^^

Final thoughts:

As per USUAL I fucking love this album.

It's so good and I will be listening to nothing but this for the next month and a half MINIMUM, as I always do.

I'm so proud of my eight, I really am. I'm so happy to be supporting such an amazing group of men and there is truly no where I'd rather be.

The LALALALA music video, and the S-Class music video are, without question, their best music videos. I cannot get enough of them.

I LOVE how with every comeback, they just continue to prove that there is truly no genre or concept that they can't do and pull off like they invented it. I have NEVER seen such a versatile group and they just continue to amaze me every time.

In the context of fanon’s reception to the launch version of Gale’s story, this reads a certain way, but watching the vid in its entirety shows that Gale’s story was more straight forward in Early Access.

In Early Access, Gale and Mystra are portrayed as exes. Gale feels special and loved because a goddess of all things chose him. When she more or less breaks up with him (for reasons entirely her own) he is (and especially metaphorically) heartbroken, because being chosen felt like love to him.

Larian uses side quests in BG3 to emphasize the stories of the companions. There are always side characters that are in similar situations to them. What is most applicable here, is the “Free the Artist” quest being very much an allegory to Gale’s relationship with Mystra, which is the context of the Gale confession.

The parallels are thus: Oskar is insecure about his value. His partner is dating below her station. Oskar is given fame just for being patroned/sponsored by her. Her patronage allows his artistry to be put in the spotlight. When partnered with her, Oskar is in access to higher standing. When offered with the potential for a deeper relationship, he feels “madness” because he “irrationally” confesses about his previous love. Because in truth, he is not over this past love. He flees his angry partner. Oskar is torn between one woman who puts him in access to fame and prestige, and another woman whom he genuinely wanted to spend his life with.

Why did this change? Why is this parallel seemingly less emphasized in launch version? Back in EA, there was a vocal and valid criticism about the fact that Gale would tell you his confession story after the Party night. In the video linked, Tav romanced Astarion, but if you romanced Gale himself – he ended up mechanically telling you about still being in love with Mystra AFTER sleeping with you.

Additionally, there is the implication that the “Free the Artist” parallel extended to Gale needing to choose between Mystra, who gave him fame, and Tav, who gave him love and acceptance.

Removing the exes most likely helped to emphasize the one-on-one, undistracted intimacy between player and character. But this had the effect of emphasizing the next biggest aspect of Gale and Mystra’s relationship, which is the fact that she’s a god.

What gets lost in translation is that the power she has over Gale gets emphasized when really the story is about the power he gives her in dictating his sense of self worth. As many wizards jockey to be known as the best wizard in all the realms - what better wizard is there than the suitor of the goddess of magic herself? Chosen of Mystra. For her to revoke what felt like love to him – making him feel like king of the world – to revoke that made him feel as if he were nothing. And his insecurities intensify as he believes it throughout the game.

This is a story of two people being intimate, and one of them catching feelings. Exes. A messy break up. Because Larian only retro-actively scrubbed the emphasis out, the subtext is still there. Gale’s love is heavy. As he says, he does not use the word "love" lightly.

Upon removing the storyline where Gale was still “caught up on his ex” this same story feels as if Mystra is abusing her power when in actuality Gale has an ache "balled up within his chest" that longs for what was lost. An ache that fears that without her favor, he is no one.

Music Shill of the Day: Interludium by Powerwolf/Communio Lupatum II

INTERLUDIUM EXISTS.

Welcome back to relevancy, Living On A Nightmare, I missed you. Glad to see it hasn't been entirely forgotten, it's definitely one of those older hidden gems in my humble opinion.

The new songs are very good: Altars on Fire is my favorite, love it to death. Love me some folksy sounding Powerwolf.

HOWEVER. What I REALLY want to talk about is the fantastic covers that make up Communio Lupatum II, because those kick absolute ASS.

FIRSTLY: Wind Rose doing Werewolves of Armenia fucking HITS. It SLAPS IMMENSELY, I love the way they reinvented the song. It is such a good fuckin cover, lads.

SECONDLY: CAN WE TALK ABOUT ELECTRIC CALLBOY DOING FIRE & FORGIVE? I WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT.

I did not know what to expect from them doing a Powerwolf cover, but man am I blown away. It sounds so fucking good. It sounds heavy, it sounds powerful, it sounds so fucking good, holy fuck. It sounds like a gothic club remix of the song. It is very good.

THIRDLY: Venom of Venus by Ad Infinitum kicks so much ass also. It's a cover that I knew was going to be awesome, but hot damn. The vocal work is beautiful, the song is both true to the original and yet carries a new energy with it, it's so GOOD. I love it.

FOURTHLY: LORD OF THE LOST DID WE ARE THE WILD.

WHAT THE FUCK.

It sounds like a fucking metal/almost swing-style version of the song. It's so fucking GOOD. I know I keep saying it but holy shit it's genuinely better than I imagined. I thought it was going to be a bit more subdued and quiet but NOPE. It isn't. And I am very appreciative. Very very good song, very very great vibes, LOVE IT.

I knew I would cause I love LOTL but. Damn.

FIFTHLY: Dancing With the Dead by Annisokay... PHENOMENAL. I had not heard of them before, so I didn't know what to expect.

Can I simply say that is not at all what I was expecting and I love it that much more? It's such a good take on an already amazingly energetic and wonderful song. It fits a similar niche to the Electric Callboy cover of Fire & Forgive where it's almost a dance remix and yet it maintains a heavy aspect along with it.

Fucking. Phenomenal. Love the vocalist a lot, their voice has a lot of nice range to it.

There are other songs, o course, but these are the ones I wanted to highlight because this post is already long as fuck. But INTERLUDIUM IS GOOD. Especially the Communio Lupatum. It kicked ass on The Sacrament of Sin and it kicks ass here.

- I'm super sad they didn't include that sickass shot of bellemere with her gun jammed down arlong's throat. I think that would've been neat

- okay garp feels worse in this. Like in the anime even tho hes a dick hes obviously not there to arrest luffy when we first meet him. But in the live action? it feels way more like garp is an overbearing controlling guardian and luffy is trying to escape from under his thumb. You CANNOT be like "oh it was just a joke I didn't mean it" when the other party was 10000% taking you seriously. It doesn't work like that! God. Fuck off garp. Quit hitting your grandkid

- THE JOLLY ROGER GAVE ME CHILLS. THEY! ARE! THE STRAWHAT CREW!

- seeing east blue arc is especially emotional because I'm nearing the end of wano kuni which, no spoilers, but the power level difference is just....it's crazy. Look how far they've come 🥺

- They really showcased nami's abilities both in and out of combat, which sometimes the anime doesn't do all that well. So big props to that (and she was fully clothed while doing it huh how about that 🤔)

And finally, Chicken Noodle Soup will complete my top 10. I was impartial to this song at first and now look at it, in my top 10 Hobi solos 😭 the way this is so catchy and has the most incredible backstory of why he did this song.... yeah, I love it more than I should at this point! And the OT7 Performance of it is perfection!

Special shout outs to the others, I love them too!! Hangsang has one of the sickest beats ever. And it's amazing. It features Supreme Boi, but no offense to him or anything, but Jhope eats him up and kills it. The flow switches!!!

Airplane is such a beautiful song. It's incredible, the flow is impeccable, the message is profound, the hope is always present 😭🥺

Blue side, the full version especially, just feels like a hug. From sunshine when you are feeling blue and down. Our Sunshine. Who understands us. 😭 He creates the most pure music at times that also never loses his unique touch. Always giving us such a bright spot of Hope and Love in life.

[2HA analysis blog] To love you is torment but leave you I cannot

I wanted to write this (hopefully not-too-long) blog to give 2HA fandom a different perspective of the events in the past timeline. I noticed that there are many little things that could not be carried over to the English language. These little things can give more explanations to our characters’ actions so I hope sharing this would help the novel make more sense. This blog focuses on Taxian-jun and Chu Fei.

Warning: Spoilers ! ! ! Taxian-jun and Chu Fei are their own trigger warnings ! ! !

Despite the novel having 350 chapters, we really know little about what happened between Taxian-jun and Chu Fei besides the abuse and mistreatment and that little is relayed to us by the Most Unreliable Narrator of the Cultivation World - Mo Ran Mo Weiyu. If we only take Mo Ran for his words then a lot of his and Chu Wanning’s decisions told later on would seem irrational and almost silly. So let’s dive deep in the past so we can understand how the great cultivator Beidou Xian-zun could raise such a dumb husky since the events in the past would explain the more irrational decisions made by both main characters.

Given Mo Ran’s narrator is about as reliable as his character in the first 120 chapters, we have to look at other more subtle clues and some of them are due to cultural and linguistic differences.

1. I used to like you a lot

At his coronation day, Taxian-jun stated that he once greatly looked up to Chu Wanning and that he used to love and respect him dearly. Maybe I am reading into this too much but this is my theory: The flower could erase the memory itself but cannot erase the feelings associated with the memory. He had his memories of the good deeds Chu Wanning did for him erased but still remembered that he used to love and respect him. It doesn’t make sense unless it is indeed that the flower could not erase its host’s feelings. So throughout the novel, Mo Ran’s complicated emotions are complicated possibly because he could not remember how he came to have these feelings. Similarly, Hua Binan could mess with the undead Taxian-jun’s memory to a great extent but could not erase his obsession with Chu Wanning.

2. I gave you a new title

Chu Fei. 楚妃. In the Imperial Chinese harem hierarchy, “Fei” means consort and not concubine (嬪 “Pín"). Consorts were highly respected positions in the palace weidling much political power and were only seconds to the Empress Consort. Another major difference is a consort would be married to the emperor while a concubine would not. So if Taxian-jun had truly wanted to only humiliate Chu Wanning and keep him for the carnal pleasures (I am intentionally ignoring his breeding kink completely), he would keep him as a concubine but he gave Chu Wanning the Consort title and hid him from the world. At this point, Taxian-jun had almost lost Chu Wanning once and had spent a lot of effort to bring him back from the verge of death after hearing Chu Wanning’s apology so his anger might have softened a bit. Also, given that Chu Wanning is a man, having a legitimate offspring ( (I am still intentionally ignoring Mo Ran's breeding kink completely) is not an issue so although this is not clearly stated, I believe Taxian-jun wanted to force a relationship and somewhat proper marriage on Chu Wanning. Another hint of this is in an Extra chapter where Taxian-jun tried to get Chu Wanning a birthday gift. He recalled that in his past timeline, he had wanted Chu Wanning to give him something on his birthday as well and that he had wanted Chu Wanning’s heart.

3. Shizun likes to write letters and poems

On Book 3 Chapter 247, Chu Wanning sat down and wrote a few unsent letters to the people he used to know. He also wrote a few lines of poetry. In the first few lines taken from different literature works, he expressed his sense of helplessness and his wish to remain untainted despite the circumstances. The more important two lines are from a poem written by a real poet named Fàn Chéngdà ( 范成大) who lived in the 12th century Southern-Song dynasty. The two lines read:

“May I be like the stars, may you* be as the moon. Night after night, may we shine together side by side.” **

*In the original work, the character used instead of you is “jun” 君 (as in 踏仙君 Taxian-jun). 君 could mean king, emperor, lord, or gentleman ** This is my rough translation - I haven’t found an English version of this poem

These two lines are commonly used in romantic novels as a way to express one’s unchanging love and loyalty to another person despite the circumstances. He compared himself as the stars and wanted to remain by Taxian-jun whom he viewed as the moon. Chu Wanning wrote this to express his willingness to stay but he would never voice this out loud. In the next timeline, he did the same thing by quietly loving and caring for Mo Ran 1.0 despite the mistreatment and was content with never expressing his feelings vocally. Mo Ran was rather uneducated and thus could not fully comprehend these two lines and misunderstood that Chu Wanning was missing Xue Meng.

4. You are all I have left

In chapter 252, after Chu Wanning returned to The Red Lotus Pavilion, he found Taxian-jun already waiting for him. Taxian-jun told Chu Wanning about a dream he had and said:

“I am afraid I don’t resent you… I want to resent you… Otherwise, I…” “In the end, it’s just you and I”.

This is not the first time he expressed that Chu Wanning was all he had left or they only had each other. I believe that at this point, Taxian-jun might have somewhat believed Chu Wanning and recognized that his memories were missing. His words and behaviors seemed a lot more gentle and he mentioned they did have periods of time where their marriage was easier. I believe it was after this point. He told us about the numerous times he attempted to spoil his consort or expressed his affection through gifts, a trip outside the palace, goods, jewels, and even teaching Chu Wanning how to cook or personally taking care of Chu Wanning when he was sick. At one point, Taxian-jun expressed his wish for a more peaceful marriage with Chu Wanning through his breeding kink by saying that if they had children, perhaps they would be more civil towards each other.

5. Are you still mad?

This is a smaller detail but in the original text and the Vietnamese official translation, the way they talked to each other had a bit more of the “husband-wife” dynamic. Especially Chu Wanning ( l┐(︶▽︶)┌ ), the comment section said he sounded like when your wife is mad that you didn’t take out the trash but still says: “I’m not mad” and Taxian-jun, the husband, would come around and ask “Are you still mad at me?” after every fight.

6. I did not think you would really leave me.

On Chapter 99, Mo Ran recalled the fight between him and Chu Wanning after an assassination attempt. In order to convince Mo Ran to not go to Taxue Palace, Chu Wanning said:

“If you destroy Taxue palace, if you kill Xue Meng, I will die before you”.

Now the line “I will die before you” in my language is less of a suicidal ideation but more of a threat. It's used when a person already knows that they are important to the other person and is using their own death as a threat to make the other person do something. This line is thrown around a lot during heated arguments between people close to each other but they almost never mean it. (Even my mom said it numerous times before T_T . I personally think it’s manipulative). Therefore, it is understandable Taxian-jun did not take this line seriously and replied almost mockingly. After all, they had been married for almost a decade at that point, Taxian-jun probably felt somewhat comfortable that Chu Wanning would not do anything reckless. He could not foresee that Chu Wanning meant what he said and actually followed through with his words. I believe that if Taxian-jun had known that Chu Wanning was serious, Taxian-jun would not have gone to Taxue Palace. 7. Don't leave me, ok?

Then Chu Wanning died and Mo Ran spent two years alone. In those two years, we know he basically went insane because of grief, talked to a corpse everyday, and deep fried his Empress Consort. But strangely enough, Mo Ran 1.0 did not immediately mention this after being reborn although it was the main reason he committed suicide. And at that point, it had been well over a decade since Shi Mei faked his death in the past timeline, yet Mo Ran 1.0 seemed to still hold a lot of resentment towards Chu Wanning. Also, he said he could accept Shi Mei’s death but would never accept Chu Wanning’s. So honestly, it did not make sense to me the first time I read the novel and I believed Mo Ran resented Chu Wanning for a different reason.

The answer was first hinted at in chapter 9 when Mo Ran scolded the sleeping Chu Wanning. He called Chu Wanning a donkey hoof (lol) and this is actually an idiom to scold someone who is disloyal and unfaithful in love. The puzzles came together when the undead Taxian-jun showed up and immediately went after Chu Wanning (and not Shi Mei). He believed Chu Wanning used his death to hurt him and was angry at Chu Wanning for leaving him. This is the resentment Mo Ran 1.0 carried over to the next timeline. He hated Chu Wanning for abandoning him. This is solidified in chapter 262 by the undead Taxian-jun pleading to Chu Wanning:

“Don’t betray me” “Don’t leave me the second time. The first time you left, I could choose death as a relief. This time, even death is not an option any more… I won’t be able to bear it…”
