I don't think modern and classic Eggman were fucking, I know they were lol. I personally really dislike Eggman x Ella. Very forced and OOC pair for the X comics and not even canon or accurate to the X show because Ella only feared and hated him and Eggman didn't give a fuck to even acknowledge her beyond when he was directly attacked by her and there was anything but attraction between them

It's uncomfortable for its generic "fat woman x man so obviously they're the only people for each other and would be into each other" vibes. And it always was uncomfortable how the Archie comics in general acted like every character needed to be paired up
