headcanon: Kana's innocence & source of trauma

The themes ' innocence ' and ' purity ' are often brought up in Kana's thoughts. How she believes it to be a flaw, that she's no longer pure and innocent. I've wondered what she meant by innocence, and couldn't understand well. Did she mean her cynical side? Being grounded and down-to-earth to understand what the entertainment world is like? Being willing to do anything for her efforts to be appreciated ( see when she almost consented to having sex with the director who praised her )? But reviewing some scenes on the manga I realized that's not the case.

Kana stopped being a child the moment she met Aqua. Ironic, isn't it? It was Aqua who wasn't really a child that 'robbed' Kana of her childhood. What I mean is: Kana was a child praised for her acting talent. She lived in a reality where she effortlessly became important. When she witnessed Aqua's acting, what she believed to be real acting talent, she realized she's never been a real prodigy. Her throwing a fit on set, wasn't the spoiled child wanting everything to go their way. It was her realizing she's never been talented or important enough, that she's been living an illusion that was going to fade. That was the beginning of her trauma, and when she actually lost her innocence. Arima Kana from the moment she met Aqua wasn't any longer the child who shone brighter than everyone, but a child who was going to eventually be abandoned if she didn't grow up fast enough to adjust to her environment. Kana, in order not to lose everything ( not to lose her mother ), she had to give up on the childish dream she had been living on, as a child.

Aqua is Kana's source of trauma, in a way. Yes, Kana would eventually be abandoned by her mother anyway. She was going to be disappointed and heartbroken far too many times, and maybe even give up on acting. But maybe, the real Arima Kana, the one Aqua has been trying to force to shine, could have continued to be an actor prodigy, and not the shadow of her talent she has chosen to show. Kana truly LOST her innocence when she was four years old, when a child shouldn't. She truly had to grow up, to the cynical self she hates.

And that's why it's Aqua's role to help her heal from her trauma. Comfort the child self she had to kill and mourn*.

My Deer Friend's Lead Voice Actresses Are Insane

I just finished watching My Deer Friend Nokotan.

It's the craziest show ever.

However, what's even crazier are the leads.

Nokotan is voiced by Megumi Han who voices Kana Arima in Oshi no Ko.

Koshi-tan is voiced by Saki Fujita, who is the voice provider for Hatsune Miku

The premise and the cast are crazy af.

I've seen many professionals fail at being natural in battle scenes. ❞ The truth was, this seemed to be the most excelling part of his acting skills. Even though he was much better than the average actor of their age, his emotional acting was lacking in her trained eye, watching him up close confirmed her assumptions. He carried a distant aura, one delivered even to the scene. Yet this was no weakness of his, not for the career he had chosen. His looks were outstanding, and along with his attitude — a pretty face that'd make one's heart race, yet so out of reach — was one of the reasons that'd make him popular. One of the reasons he was going to succeed.

Child Actors Aqua and Kana on the occasion of season 2.

I imagine that if everything didn't go downhill with Ai, Aqua and Kana would have been able to act in more films together and maybe be paired together in more projects. And an actual childhood friend relationship would be real nice.
