Babysitter's Guide To Watching Eri (My Hero Academia)
Tumblr media
Heyo! This is a gift for the ever amazing @thatbigbisexual29 A while back we were talking about Bakugou and Eri and how cute they'd be as a duo, and thus; this fic has been born! This is pretty self indulgent and likely OOC but who cares- it's Bakugou and Eri! I hope y'all like it! :D

Summary: In an unexpected turn of events, Bakugou is tasked with babysitting Eri for the day.
When it came to looking after Eri, a few faces immediately came to mind.
First of course was Mirio. The kind hearted hero adored the girl and would bend over backwards to entertain her whenever Aizawa and Mic had hero work to attend to. It didn’t matter what was going on- he was ready to rush over and play whenever needed.
The next was Midoriya. If Mirio was busy or they simply desired another playmate, they’d grab the freckled boy from his studies and invite him over. He’d run through the door with a proud “I am here!” that left Eri squealing in glee and Mirio chucking at how into his role he got for the little girl.
There were others; Nejiri who was always down to play dress up and princess tea party with Eri; Shinsou who helped her with her drawings and watched movies with her; and the U-A girls like Uraraka and Tsuyu who always took her to fun places like the space zone or the aquarium, pointing out cool things and treating her to snacks.
Alas- none of those options were available today for Eri. Mirio and Nejire had work, Midoriya and the girls were finishing their internships, and Shinsou was in extra classes for the hero course. Things were rather…tense as the realization hit them.
“What are we gonna do? We can’t bring her with us during our patrol!” Mic was pacing around the room back and forth in thought, just barely avoiding pulling out his hair. “And all the pro’s are busy- oh man why of all the days!”
“We’ll figure it out. We just need to find someone on short notice.” Aizawa slumped forward in his seat, trying to think. Who was available with no plans today? “Yaoyorozu maybe?”
“Yeah! No…wait- Midnight needed her.” Mic deflated. “Oh! What about Tokoyami?”
“Hawks.” They said at the same time, shaking their heads. “Nearly all the students are being taken up for missions right now- it’s not fair to expect them to bail for our sake. What do we do…” Mic doubled over the desk, holding his head.
Just then- an answer walked through the door.
“Hey- Mr. Aizawa, Best Jeanist texted. He said he wouldn’t be able to take me with him today- some emergency came up.” Bakugou knocked before poking his head through the door, looking a bit disgruntled. “Should I see if Endeavor needs more hands?”
Aizawa and Mic looked at eachother.
“Endeavor has plenty of hands.” Aizawa spoke, finalizing their decision. “However, we do need a favor…”
~~~
A babysitter job. Him- babysitting!
Good grief.
“Okay- here’s everything she’ll need. Eri’s fairly independent, so really the only thing you need to do is entertain her while we’re gone.” Mic had handed him a whole list- A LIST! Of things Eri liked. Everything from her favorite toys to her favorite drinks and snacks- all the movies she loved and games she usually played, etc. etc.
“We should be back a little after lunchtime so if you could take care of that; we have pre-made meals in the fridge, you just need to heat them up. Oh- and careful with the microwave; we don’t know what happened but it’s acting weird. Try not to hit any odd numbers, kay?”
“Odd numbers-wait; how long did you say?” Bakugou stammered as Mic bounced out the door, putting on his hero face. “Is this an all day thing?”
“Is that a problem?” Aizawa raised a brow. “Do you have anything planned today?”
“Well…no, I just…I’m not-” Bakugou waved his arms, feeling a bit helpless. “I’m not exactly great with kids.”
Aizawa softened, reaching out and patting Bakugou’s shoulder. “From what I’ve heard, you did fine with the kids during your remedial classes.”
“That’s only because they were a bunch of snot nosed brats. Plus I had help” Bakugou grumbled.
“That was a bunch of kids. This is Eri- the farthest thing from a brat.” Aizawa squeezed his arm before pulling back, adjusting his scarf. “She’s a good girl and doesn’t need much. Try not to scare her. You know how you can be.”
“I’m not-” Bakugou growled, then snapped his mouth shut when he realized he was proving Aizawa’s point. “Fine. I’ll be…gentle.”
“Thank you again, Bakugou. We truly appreciate it.” Aizawa nodded before heading out, officially leaving Eri in the teen’s care.
“...Heh. Okay, squirt- where do we even-” Bakugou turned to face her but found…nothing. She was nowhere to be seen. “Eri? Hey, where are you?”
Poking his head down the hall, he found her hiding behind a door frame, peeking at him. “You good, kid?”
Eri seemed…scared. Bakugou winced at himself; he hadn’t even talked to her today yet and he already scared her. Sighing, he squatted down to her level, offering a hand. “Look- I know I seem scary, but I promise I’m not gonna yell at you. Whatever you want to do today, we can do, alright?”
The girl seemed to relax some, her expression still nervous. Slowly, she crept towards him, little hands folded on her chest as she looked at her feet. “Sorry…”
“Huh? Why are you apologizing?” She winced at his tone. He internally punched himself. “Er-sorry. Why are you apologizing? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“You have to watch me. I ruined your day.” She sounded close to tears. Bakugou felt his chest hurt. Did she hear him calling after Mic?
“No, no kid- you didn’t ruin anything. My day hasn’t even started yet.” With some hesitation, he reached out and patted her head, making her look up. “If you heard me talking to your papa, it wasn’t anything bad about you, I swear. I just don’t know how to…” he waved a hand between them, shrugging in such a manner that he got a smile. “But we can figure this out. We can play whatever you want- including…” He looked at the list, wincing. “Fairy Princess Ball.”
Eri giggled, her nerves easing away as she bounced up to him. “I love that game! But I always play it with Neji. I want to play something else.”
“Sure kid, let’s see.” Bakugou looked at the list once more, but Eri put her hands over it, pushing it down with a headshake.
“No list! I want to play something new.” She looked up at him, eyes dancing. “Something you came up with…erm…”
“Bakugou.” He gave her his name, watching her light up. “But I guess Katsuki is fine if  you want.”
“Ba…Baku..” She stammered on the words, then she looked at him. “Kacchy.”
“Close enough.”
~~~
“Ahoy my crew! We’re approaching deadly waters!” Eri cried from her pillow fort on the couch, holding a circular cushion in her small hands like a steering wheel. “They say a mean old sea monster lives here- we must be careful!”
“Oi who you calling old-er I mean…Grrrrrrr!” Eri giggled at the growling heard beneath a nearby blue blanket, slowly getting closer and closer to her “ship”. Behind her, her crew of squishmellows sat aligned, all dressed in pirate outfits and ready to assist.
“Do you hear that? It’s getting closer!” Eri looked around, pushing up her pirate hat as she searched for the monster. “Let’s turn to-”
“ROAR!” Bakugou shot from the blanket, a dragon hat on his head as he raised his arms high. Eri squealed, falling back in her pillows with a giggly shriek. “I’m a sea monster! And I’m gonna eat your boat!”
“Noo! Quick- Yuki! Save us!” Eri chucked her nearest Squishmellow at him, watching it bounce off his chest harmlessly. Bakugou flailed backwards anyway, pretending to be hit. “Go, go!”
“Gah! No! Not the dreaded squish!” He cried out as she assaulted him with squishmellow after squishmellow, finally jumping on him when she ran out. “Ah! No! It’s the Pirate Princess Eri!”
“That’s right! And I’m gonna take you out, Mr. Sea Monster! Take THIS!” She shot her hands out, scribbling them all over his belly with reckless abandon.
“AH! Ahehahahahhaa! Whahahahit- wahahhhahait I didiihihihihn’t agrehehehehehehehee to thihihihihiihs!” Bakugou spasmed with a yelp, not at all prepared for such acts! Semi buried beneath squishmellows, the blonde laughed and squirmed, fighting the urge to curse in front of Eri. “Ehahhhahahhaha, you brahhahahahhat! This ihihhihihihisn’t fahahahhahair!”
“He he he! Looks like you’re no match for the great Eri-EHH!” The little girl squealed when Bakugou suddenly lunged, gathering her up and gently tickling her back. “Ahehahahahahahahaha! Kahahhaahahahchy!”
“Who’s Kacchy? I’m the dreadful sea monster, remember? Forget eating your ship, I’m gonna eat YOU!” He roared playfully as he carried on tickling her, making Eri squeal and kick in glee. “I’m gonna roll you in flour, bake you and then eat you up bones and all!”
“Ahehahhhahahhaa! Nohohohoohohohoo!” Eri rolled out of his arms, running for her boat. “Stahhahay awhawhhahahay!” She squealed through her giggles as she grabbed her squishmellow, smacking him with it. “Tahhake that!”
“Oh, it is ON!” He grabbed the smallest squish he could find, lightly swatting back at her as she laughed herself silly. For someone so small, she sure could pack a hit!
RIIIIIP!
“Oh no!” Eri cried, freezing Bakugou in his spot. The squishmellow she was using to attack had suddenly ripped open- a huge gaping hole in the side. Stuffing rolled down the couch, littering the floor. “Yuki…”
Yuki…oh shit. That was one of her favorite toys from the list.
“Oh man, kid…” Bakugou paled upon looking at the mess. Eri’s eyes filled with tears.
Bakugou looked at her, then at the toy. Then he sighed, pulling off the dragon hat.
“No tears, Doctor Eri. We have a patient to fix.” He announced, making her look up. “Hang on- I have something that can fix Yuki.
~~~
“I didn’t know you could sew!” Eri sat wide eyed as she watched Bakugou carefully stitch back up her toy, his handiwork slow but consistent. “Where’d you learn that?”
“A hero has tons of tricks.” Bakugou grinned at her, pushing the fallen stuffing back in as he went along. “My parents are in the fashion business. My dad makes clothes while my mom models them. I helped them out a few summers- mainly just taking care of rips and tears in the clothes.”
“Wow…” Eri leaned into her hands, taking it all in. “Papa…he got me Yuki as a present when I first started living here.”
Ah. That made sense why the plush was so faded. It also explained Eri’s reaction. “Did he now?”
“Mm-hm! He came home with it one day- told me it was a present for my birthday!” Eri smiled at the memory, cheeks flushing with fondness for her adoptive parents. “It wasn’t really my birthday, but it was the first real gift from Daddy and Papa- I love it very much.”
Bakugou didn’t have much to say about that, finishing off the last stitch before puffing Yuki up some. “There we go. Good as new- er; minus the big scar.”
Eri practically tackled him, hugging his arm with a teary grin. “Thank you, Kacchy. And I don’t mind the scar. All the people I love have them.”
That’s when he realized she was looking at him too, at the faded scars along his bicep.
“Heh, I guess they do.” He laughed through a thick voice.
~~~
“Alright- let’s see…which one kid?” Bakugou presented both meals to Eri, watching her look each one over. It was around the afternoon when he got a text from Aizawa; turns out they weren’t gonna be back until late that evening; meaning it was up to Bakugou to prepare her meal.
“Hmm…this one!” She pointed, pleased with her decision. Bakugou nodded, putting the other away before popping the pre-made meal into the microwave. “Daddy makes the best food!”
“He does.” Bakugou agreed, knowing just how good Aizawa was as a cook. “He once made-”
The microwave beeped and shook. Bakugou paled upon realizing his mistake.
Don’t press any of the odd buttons!
“ERI MOVE!” Bakugou ran at her, gathering her up and leaping just as the microwave exploded. Glass and semi cooked food flew across the kitchen, the smell of smoke strong as the inside of the microwave sizzled. A small flame remained within.
Bakugou blinked, then he looked over Eri. Besides looking utterly shocked, she didn’t have any wounds or burns. Nodding, he quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher, putting out the remains of the microwave. Once done, he grabbed a wooden spoon and batted out the plug. “There. Eri, are you okay?”
The girl seemed stunned, wide eyed and shaky. Bakugou kneeled before her, voice gentle. “Eri?”
“Erm…yeah. I’m okay.” She nodded, shaking out of her shock as she met his eye. “What about you?”
“Nothing broken here. Sorry I blew up dinner.” He laughed some, looking back at the mess. “Er…want pizza?”
~~~ “And that is that.” Bakugou huffed as he and Eri flopped into the couch, fairly exhausted. The kitchen was clean once more, and a box of pizza with only the crust remaining laid on the coffee table. In the background, a movie with talking fish carried on. Eri insisted it was a great movie. If he were being honest, she was right. “What a day. Sorry I kinda messed everything up, kid.”
“What do you mean? I had so much fun today!” She smiled up at him, sleepy. “We played pirates and sea monsters, you fixed Yuki, and we got to eat pizza and watch movies! I’m glad you came today, Kacchy.”
Bakugou grinned, something warm setting in his chest as she scooted closer to him, lying against his side. “I’m sure Mirio or Deku would have been better.”
“Maybe. But you’re great in your own way.” She yawned, huffing some before closing her eyes. “Thanks for being here, Kacchy…I appreciate it…”
“Eri?” He looked down to find her sleeping with a happy smile on her face. Chuckling, he petted back her hair away from her peaceful expression.
“Glad to be there for you kid.”
Thanks for reading!
Eri X Older Sister Reader
For Her Smile
Tumblr media
THE PAST
YOUR POV AGE 12
I was waiting in a room as I heard my mother’s screams. ‘Why is she screaming? Is it birth?’ I thought. All the sudden I heard cry’s. “Is that my sister!” I said as I saw father walk out. He smiled “yes, yes it is.”
NOW (age 18)
Ever since Eri’s quirk developed our grandfather sent us to a man named Kai Chisaki. He was a cruel man. I was forced to wear the same outfit (the outfit-www.pinterest.com/pin/143904150581439721/) however. At some point he separated me and Eri from each other. I was only around her to comfort her when she was having a meltdown. For me my quirk is Gravity. (Present Mic Moment about the quirk! (Y/n) (L/n)! QUIRK GRAVITY-manipulation, allowing her to manipulate and make gravitons, as well as alter the gravity of anything she touches! She is also capable of standing and walking upside down from ceilings!) Right now I’m in a room. More like prison. Every day I pray for me and Eri to get rescued. Will it ever happen? All the sudden alarms went on and I heard Eri’s screams and Chronostasis barged in my room and shot me with something that made everything go black. I awoke in Chronostasis arms as I screamed “gravity! Fly away!” I touched him and he went flying and I pinned upside down. I felt the building shake. ‘What is going on? I have to get out of here.’ As I escaped I went on top of a building and saw Eri’s power escalate. This boy with green hair was holding her as she calmed down. ‘What a brave boy.’ I thought. As a boy with blonde hair came and grabbed her. ‘Should I make myself known? No. Eri. She deserves better. They can provide a good life for her. Not like I can’ I thought. I mumbled. “I’m sorry Eri… I’m so sorry… but… this is for the best.” I then left the scene and made my way to a new place. (The apartment-https://www.pinterest.com/pin/art-dept--7459155626934177/)
Time Skip (next day)
I had found an abandoned apartment room and moved in there, it was small but it worked for me. I found out Eri was at a hospital in a coma. I decided to write a letter to her to let her know that I love her and me disappearing from her life is because I love her.
Sometime later Eri’s POV
i awoke in a room. I wondered where I was till I saw Mirio and Izuku! I smiled “thank you!” They smiled back at me as Mr.Aizawa came in and said “we have a letter for you Eri. From a girl named (Y/n).” I smiled “my sister! Is she okay?” Izuku gasped “Eri-chan you have a sister?” Mirio said “you never told us you had a sister.” I smiled “I do she my big sister. She my family! What did she put?” Aizawa said “it says. Dear Eri, I love you so much but I’m afraid I will never see you again. It’s for the best so you can have a better life with the hero’s. I can’t provide for you. You’ll be better off without me. It pains me to say/put this. But I need to do what’s best for you. -lots of love (Y/n). P.s. you were the greatest little sister any older sibling can ever have. I love you so much Eri.” I started to have tears down my face I mumbled “(y/n)… why?” Izuku hugged me and said “I’m so sorry Eri. I’m so sorry” I cried as I clung to his shirt. ‘(Y/n) I miss you please be okay’ I thought.
Festival At U.A. Your POV
I heard about some festival so I decided to show up. I watched till I saw Eri. She was smiling. Having fun. Giggling. I’ve never seen her so happy. What I did was for the best. For her smile and for only her. I disappeared out of the school and made my way to my rusty apartment.
Hating you as well
(And loving you so much more)
PT Uno, Part Two, Part Tres (you're HERE)
Part three of Hating you as well, where you and Aizawas feelings fester and grow now that Eri seems keen on pushing you two together
Tw!: Suggestive language, erm, i think thats it lmao
Fem!Reader, She/Her pronouns
Tumblr media
The transition for Eri was an extremely strange one. First, it felt like living with a baby deer, no sudden movements and explicit information on what was going on. The knives had to be hidden, so as to not trigger Eri. You spent your lunch with her, and she was tossed around during the day, every free period a teacher had was spent with the girl.
It was one night a week into her living at the apartment that changed everything.
In your room, you and Aizawa separated your beds with a thick curtain, giving off a semblance of privacy. You had completely taken over the bathroom, makeup, your hair care, hair dryer, and other things cluttering the space up. You had also taken over the majority of his room, posters, papers and clothes littered the space. Still, you both slept in your separate beds, mostly avoiding each other in the room as much as possible.
Until Eri came into the room sniffling.
You both made a point to keep the door open, telling her she could come in at any time.
"H-hello?" She walked in, holding a stuffed cat, sniffing. You shot up out of bed, your bed giving you a perfect view of the door.
"Yes Eri?"
"Eri?" Aizawa got up, pulling back the curtain to look at her.
"Uhm…" She trailed off, standing still, she still wasn't used to voicing her opinions, afraid to ask for things.
"It's okay to use your big girl voice Eri, you're safe here." Aizawa crouched down, looking straight at her.
"Can I sleep with you? I had a nightmare." She looked down, tears gently pooling down her face. You sighed resting your head back onto your pillow.
"Of course." You heard shuffling, but it stopped. "Eri?" He asked, confused.
"Both of you, please?" That made you look up again, staring at the little girl. The hallway light made her look so fragile, and you looked up at Aizawa, who was just staring at you, dumbfounded, arms outstretched to her but frozen.
"Y-yeah, of course." Aizawa just stared, shocked.
"Thank you." Her voice was small, and immediately she went to your bed, and you shifted to the wall and allowed her to crawl in. She peeked over, looking at Aizawa. "Are you gonna join us?"
Aizawa just looked at you, but slowly crawled over. He tried to lay over the blankets, but Eri refused, forcing him to get under the blankets as well. She laid directly in the middle forcing you against the wall and Aizawa hanging over the edge. Her breathing slowed, and she fell into a restful sleep.
Your eyes drifted away from her and up to him, watching him watching you.
A small smirk crawled over your face, "This is inappropriate y'know." You whispered.
He shook his head, deadpanned. "This is for her."
Your smile dropped, as did your eyes. "I know."
"I-" He started, and he grabbed your attention. You watched him again, and he just sighed and rolled on his back. "Get some sleep, we have work tomorrow."
"Right."
When did things become so unfamiliar again?
___________________________________________
The weeks stretched on like that, you working Eri in any way you could, Aizawa keeping watch of her quirk, and her getting used to this new life. Every day you both were mandated to make a report out to the Hero Commission, warned that any sight of trouble she'd immediately be sent back to the hospital.
"Have you filled out the report yet?" Aizawa asked, stirring whatever was for dinner. You looked up at him through your pile of tests. Shaking your head.
"Not yet, I'm behind. I'm trying to catch up before I do." Eri was currently in her room, having a really hard day.
Aizawa sighed heavily. “You need to get it done before ten. Today.”
“I know. But I’m weeks behind on grading, I have time.” You scratched your head, normal pen in your head as you scratched off right and wrong answers.
“Do you? It’s a large report, even if you start now you’ll barely get it done before it’s done.” You turned back at him, silent anger washing into your body. Your eyes flashed to Eri’s open door, remembering to keep your voice down.
“Will you stay out? I’m a grown adult, I’m not your student.” You whispered, voice filled with venom.
“If we fail to even turn in one, the commission will take her away. Do you want her to deal with the added trauma of that?” He shot back, voice also a whisper.
“And I’ll fucking do it, Jesus Christ, if I fall any further behind Nedzu will reprimand me for it. I’m nearly a month behind.” You were now clutching the back of the couch, furiously whisper shouting at the man.
“Watch your mouth, you need to keep your language under control.”
That made you break. You snatched up your papers and got up, storming past him. Eri decided to walk out right at that moment and looked at you terrified. Your anger waned, and you smiled at her, getting down on her level.
“Hey babe, you feeling better?” You didn’t reach out to her, instead, you gave her space.
“Mhm…are you mad?” She tilted her chin down, looking scared all over again.
“No honey, now that I see you’re cute face, I’m all better.” You smiled brightly, hiding the touches of anger that were still left.
“But you were?” She prodded again.
“Yes, a little, but it was nothing you did. Between you and me,” You leaned forward, cupping one hand over your mouth. She stared at you, and you waved her closer. She did, rather hesitantly, and you whispered in her ear. “Mr. Aizawa is a big grumpypants.” Her eyes widened slightly at that, looking at said grumpypants. You leaned back, knees groaning at the movement. “And I just need a little break, like you do.” You nodded. “But I’m not mad anymore, and you did nothing wrong pretty girl.” You slightly booped her nose, standing straight up to disappear to your half of the room.
You quickly finished up the last of your appears, and sped through Eri's report. You opened the notes section, checking the time, it was nine-thirty, suck that Aizawa.
:Regressed today, and spent most of the day in her room. When we checked in on her, the sight of us in the doorway startled her, so we gave her space, calling for her from farther in the house so as to not upset her. Lost control for five seconds, but was quickly shut down by Aizawa, and soothed by me. Came out on her own for dinner.
You were still working when Aizawa crept back in the room, no words were exchanged between you two. When Eri came in for nightly cuddles, you worked at the foot of the bed, feeling two pairs of eyes watching you.
___________________________________________
The next morning was silent, Eri’s wide red eyes constantly bounced between you and Aizawa.
He was eating breakfast hunched over the kitchen counter, scrolling through the hero network, while you tiredly worked through your schoolwork on the table, barely touching your food.
“Are you two…mad at me?” She asked suddenly, breaking the tense silence.
That got both of your attention, both of you flying to her side.
“Of course not sweety, why would you say that?” You asked, rubbing her back in soothing motions.
“L-last night, yo-you didn’t sleep with us,” She looked at you, and guilt ate at you, she turned to Aizawa, “And you’re not eating breakfast with us.” She sniffled.
“Eri-”
“Honey-”
You both spoke over each other, and you looked up at Aizawa. Before when you had your spats you were able to just fight it out, now you had to sleep in the same bed and pretend everything was fine for the sake of Eri.
“We’re sorry, we never meant to make you worry.” Aizawa reassured. “We’re not mad at you at all, you did nothing wrong.”
“Yeah, you’re okay, I promise. It’s just..adults are weird.” You settled on that, and Aizawa just looked at you. “We’re being silly, that’s all.”
“Promise?” She asked, holding her stuffed animal tighter.
“I pinky promise! The best promise there is.” You smiled, wiping away stray tears on her face. She gave a tiny smile, and leaned into your lap, resuming to eat. Aizawa made a move to get up, and she quickly looked at him. The man froze, and sat back down, now realizing you both were stuck here.
Mirio dropped by after breakfast, right on time as usual. He had Aizawa and you on speed dial, under specific instructions to call Aizawa first if anything went wrong, or felt like Eri could be in any type of trouble.
You both walked out, tense air in the elevator. Neither of you said anything, while the elevator dinged down, the silence stretching as you walked to your classrooms. You knew Aizawa would go to the teacher's lounge usually late to his own class anyway, whereas you were often early to yours.
On the walk to the school, he was the first to break the silence.
"Last night…" He started, hiding his face in his scarf. You looked at him, both of your eyebags apparent. It had been a hard month, the first few weeks both of you were working on making the home ready for Eri, and the last half you spent with said girl. But the violence around you and Aizawa grew, each of you taking your frustrations out on one another, but you couldn't say the things you needed to, fight it out like you used to.
"Yeah?" You started, somewhat hopeful you could start an emotional conversation, instead of just pretending like nothing was happening between you two.
Aizawa was lost for words for a moment, and you two stopped right in front of the doorway. His eyes were filled with conflicting emotions, but he settled on one, a familiar one.
"It can't happen again, you need to be there for Eri, as do I." That cold tone was back, the anger. Why did you expect anything different?
"Right, sure. See you at the house." You walked away, trying to fight off tears.
You left him there, regret filling his being. Because the truth was? He never had been angry with you, he was just always angry at himself, and you were always there.
___________________________________________
“I’m spending the night at Snipe's house.” You said over lunch, looking at the papers scattered around the table.
“What?” Aizawa snapped his head up at you, and Eri looked up at you with wide eyes.
“You-” Your eyes flashed to Eri, and the bitter response that rested on the tip of your tongue fizzled out and died. “I’m just going to spend the night a floor above us.” I’ll still be here.
“Why?” Aizawa held no effort to hold back his anger.
You shrugged, putting food in your mouth. “Just ‘cause.”
“No.”
“No? I wasn’t asking, I was telling you Aizawa.” Your voice was cold, and Eri looked terrified between you two.
“And I’m telling you, you can’t go.” His voice was as cold as yours, ice filled the room.
“Well, why not?” You decided to humor him, because why in the fuck did this man get to dictate your life?
“Because….Eri needs you here.” Because I need you here.
You took a deep breath, he didn’t get to use Eri like that. You turned to her, “What do you think sweet girl? Is it okay if I spend the night at another person's house?” Another man's house.
She was lost for words for a moment looking between you two. “Uhm, I-I-” Her breathing quickened, both of you rushing to her side. She clutched onto Aizawa’s black shirt, and you both realized you had placed her right in the middle of your fight.
“Oh sweetie I’m sorry, I’m sorry we upset you.” You kept your hands to yourself, looking up at her from her spot on the chair.
“It’s alright, we’re sorry hunny.” Aizawa mumbled from his spot, softly rubbing a hand on her head.
After a moment of you two just mumbling apologizes and praises, she calmed down enough to answer.
She nodded her head, looking at you through her wet eyelashes. “It’s…it’s okay.”
That shocked the both of you, you expected her to ask you to stay.
“A-are you sure? It’s okay if you say no, you’re opinion matters and I will listen to what you want.” You reassured, voice soft but firm to show you meant what you said.
“Absolutely, we won’t get mad, and you can voice your feelings.” Aizawa doubled down, still holding her.
“I-I’m sure, Mirio comes over and hangs out, and Mr. Snipe is nice. I’ll be okay.” Her voice was small, and she refused to make eye contact with you while she spoke, but her words made you melt. She wanted you to hang out with your friends as well.
“Okay, thank you babe.” You smiled, whispering. She weakly held her arms out, and you picked her up, wrapping her in a tight hug and spun. She squealed, but even when you stopped she held onto you. Looking over to Aizawa, you saw conflict behind his eyes. Good, dumbass.
Later, when you went back to your classes you texted to confirm things with Snipe.
Off Brand Cowboy 🤠🐎: Great, see you then ;)
“Just call me if you need anything, alright?” You said, accepting the clothes that Eri handed you. She had insisted on helping you pack, even if you were just bringing over a backpack with your nightly routine, a charger, papers, and pajamas.
“Okay.” The little girl nodded. Over the month that she had escaped the terrible grips of Kai Chisaki, she had slowly but surely gotten better. Some days were hard for her, but she will have those days for the rest of her life. Maybe one day the image of the bird mask that haunted her will be nothing but a nightmare when she’s older, but for now, it was as if he still lived in the shadows. She was getting better at voicing her opinions, saying no when needed, and getting better at adjusting to normal life, of course, lunch was not a test of that. Arguing seemed to upset her in a muted way, and you questioned whether or not it was because she thought the anger would be turned to her. Her therapist seemed to think so, asking you two to keep your words kind and positive. Show her what healthy and normal relationships look like. You’d have to make it up to her later.
You stopped shoving things in the black backpack, you looked up at her, softly grabbing her hand.
“I’m being serious, if you just want cuddles, just call me and I’ll be right there.” You made unbroken eye contact with her, while she stared back.
“Promise?” She asked, voice a whisper.
You smiled, and stood up straight.
“Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” You put your hand on your heart, then spread your arms out like wings, and finished off the phrase by sticking your palm flat on your eye. You decided to rip the phrase off My Little Pony, agreeing with Aizawa that the real phrase was too dark for Eri. She gave a small, closed-mouth smile, and jumped up to give you a hug. You laughed, holding her tightly. She pulled her head back and looked at you.
“Thank you, Ms. I’ll be okay.” She sounded so confident, like she was willing herself to be okay for you.
“Okay, sweet girl.” You put her down and zipped up your back. Slinging it over your shoulder you walked out of the room, with little Eri hot on your heels. You picked up your laptop on your way out, but you stopped at the doorway. Eri right behind you, and Aizawa leaning at the end of the entryway. You crouched down again, holding her tight.
“It’s just for one night, and I’ll be right upstairs, alright.” She nodded in your grasp. “And you can call me whenever you want, okay?” Another nod. You pulled back and pressed your forehead on hers. “Early goodnight, alright?”
“Goodnight.” She hugged you again, and you stood up, staring at Aizawa.
“Don’t do anything you’ll regret in the morning.” Since lunch, he had been icy with you, hardly responding to texts, and if he did, they were short and dry. And when you both got home he acted as if you were a ghost, walking past you without even a passing glance. “And remember to fill out the report.”
“Thanks.” You looked down again, smiling while you ruffled her hair, mindful of her horn. “I’ll be back.” You left them standing in the same spot, closing the door quietly on them. The ride up was short, obviously, and you knocked on Snipe’s door. He opened it, wearing nothing but a tight grey tank top and short basketball shorts.
“Hope the ride up wasn’t too bad.” He joked, letting you pass.
“Oh, it was awful.” You sighed, throwing your backpack on the floor, and basically threw your laptop on his table. You flopped on his couch, sighing heavily while lying on your face. He let out a loud laugh, warm and inviting. He sat down beside your head, throwing his arm over the couch while he clicked the TV on.
“Wanna watch something? The new Batman movie came out a while back, and I haven’t found the time to watch it.” You looked up at him, chin resting on the couch.
“Thanks, but no thanks.” You sighed, getting up to grab your backpack and laptop. “I’ve got work to do.” You popped your fingers, putting your hair up to get started.
“Now? It’s eight, and I thought you managed to get all your missing assignments done?” Snipe asked curiously, looking over at you.
“I did, it’s just one more thing I gotta do.” You shrugged, it usually takes an hour or two to fill out Eri's reports, having to write down every person she came into contact with, what she ate, how you dealt and interacted with her throughout the day, etc. Just loads of little things that you had to be hyper-specific about.
“Oh, alright.” He shrugged, putting on the movie anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You finished the report and had a light dinner with the man on the couch. Now you two were just sitting, watching a random comedy he had chosen. There was some space between you, enough for it to be respectable but not enough for it to be totally friendly. You were completely entrapped by the movie, smiling at whatever funny bit came on.
But Snipe wasn’t.
Unknowing to you, he was calculating the best way to make a move on you.
He decided to fully rest his arm on you, sliding it down from the back of the couch to your shoulders. You looked over at him but said nothing about his movements. He took that as a way for him to keep going, hand slowly sliding down your arm to rest at your hip, squeezing at the fat there. You fully looked over at him, making unbreaking eye contact with the dark man, his own watching you. Snipe slowly leaned over, getting in your face, coming to brush noses with you. You made no move to stop him, but you didn’t lean into him either. His lips brushed against yours, both of his hands coming to rest on your hips. Your hands went to his large chest, he was warm, sure, but it was wrong. Not the kind to keep you warm during a snow day, or the kind to hold you during rainy nights, he was just warm.
Snipe sighed, head flopping down to your chest.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, confused by his sudden sound of defeat.
He looked up at you, a bittersweet smile on his lips. “Why’d you come over?”
You shrugged, slightly shaking your head as you tried to format a response. “I just needed a break, Aizawa-” You rolled your eyes, laughing slightly as you said his name.
“You’re in love with him, aren’t you?’” Snipe cut you off, completely catching you off guard.
“What?” You were frozen on the spot, all emotions you had were replaced by the feeling of what.
“Every time you talk about him, no matter how mad you are, you always smile. You find a way to bring him into every conversation like he’s the only thing on your mind, and no one just agrees to watch over a child with someone they don’t love. Even now, you were thinking about him, weren’t you?” Snipe sat up, letting go to rest his elbow on the couch, tilting his head and setting in on his fist. You were frozen to the spot, lost for words while you processed his.
Was that true? Even if he did piss you off, you did feel yourself smiling slightly with his name on your tongue, and it was hard not to talk about him when he just ticked you off every day. Rasing Eri was just a given, she needed more than just one support system to help her. There was no way…was there?
“I…I don’t know.” You whispered because you didn’t. Or maybe…
“You do, you just don’t want to.” He sighed, getting up. You scrambled to look over the couch, watching him with worried eyes as he opened his closet.
“I’m sorry.” He came back holding a thick blanket.
“There’s no need. I’m gonna head to bed, alright?” Snipe turned around, putting his dreads up in a ponytail.
“Alright.” He turned off the lights, leaving only the TV light on. You sat, stumped over what he had said. You couldn’t fall asleep that night, feeling too cold and lonely to do so comfortably. And horrifyingly you realized, you missed him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere downstairs…
“Eri, it’s alright, your okay.” Aizawa’s eyes burned, trying and failing to soothe the crying girl. She was ignoring him as she sobbed pitifully.
Earlier after dinner, she had tried to help with cleaning the dishes, but she had dropped his favorite mug and had burst into tears when had cried out. That took forever to calm her down, as he wasn’t usually the one to comfort her over things like this. Then, when it was time for a bath, she wanted to do it by herself, which he respected. He waited and waited, and waited for her to come out, but after thirty minutes of pure silence, he politely asked to come in. When he got permission to do so, Aizawa found bubbles absolutely everywhere, overflowing the tub. Eri was dumping a whole bottle of conditioner on her head, and when Aizawa sternly told her no, she panicked and dropped it on her head, splattering it everywhere. That mess took two hours to clean up, having to calm her down and fix the bathroom up. Getting her to bed was another issue, she didn’t want to wear any of the pajamas, they were either too pink or too long, and some were too short, or not enough pink.
In times like these he was somewhat glad she was able to act like a fussy six-year-old, but it also reminded him he didn’t have the patience or energy to do so.
She was practically falling asleep when she walked out of her room, eyes drooping while she stumbled around. Finally, finally, she fell asleep, far past her bedtime. Still, even if he was just so tired, he couldn’t fall asleep. He had exhausted his quirk, his body ached with years of use, and he himself was just exhausted. But he couldn’t just close his damned eyes, couldn’t rest his mind fully.
Aizawa felt guilty for earlier, not just because he had upset Eri over lunch, but because he had upset you. He didn’t mean to say no to you, but the words tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them, just like always.  Aizawa knew Snipe's intentions with you were less than pure, and whenever he saw you two talking he couldn’t help the flame of anger that rose in his chest, that feeling of jealousy. It made him embarrassed and scared because he never gave a fuck about the sex lives, or even just the regular lives of others, but when it came to you, he just couldn’t help it. The whole night he had tried to emulate what you could do, but he otherwise failed or did it too awkwardly, unable to replicate your soothing motions and kind voice. Eri had also refused to sleep in his bed, instead, she made them sleep in yours. It only made his heart ache more, as he stared at the empty spot where you would be.
Aizawa accepted the fact that he missed you, and that he needed you by his side.
But he had known that this whole time, he was just so afraid that you’d get tired of him, fed up with him, or maybe that he’d lose you. Aizawa Shouta was no stranger to loss, but he knew, deep inside him, that if he ever lost you, it would be his last straw.
The next morning was slightly awkward with you and Snipe, but not unbearably so. Something that would pass in a day or two. For now, you made small talk.
“You excited about the school festival?” Snipe asked over breakfast, drinking a Red Bull. This was wrong, the smell of coffee and dark clothes were missing.
“School festival? What the hell is that?” It felt nice to curse again.
“You don’t know? It’s like the sports festival but for the rest of the school.” He snorted, eating a banana. That was also wrong, you didn’t hear the ding of toast or the sizzling of eggs.
“Oh, so what do they do?” You questioned, still slightly confused.
“Whatever they want, the hero commission is sticking their dirty noses in it, so whatever event the kids wanna do have to be approved, but mostly whatever.” He wiped his hands, leaving dirty crumbs all over the floor.
“I guess I must’ve missed all that talk, I’ve been busy with Eri lately.” You shrugged, getting up to pack your stuff.
“Yeah, it’s coming up pretty soon. Maybe you should take her?” Snipe suggested, walking you out. You were by the door, putting your shoes back on while he held it open for you.
“Hey, that’s not a bad idea!” You nodded. “Well, thanks for letting me stay the night. And…sorry about all of that.” You looked away, embarrassed. He waved his hand in dismissal.
“No hard feelings, just do everyone a favor and get together already. You two are all anyone talks about.”
“Wait what?-” Your eyes widened, mouth dropping in horror.
“Okay, thanks m’byeee!” He cut you off, shoving you out the door before you could get another word out. You stared blinking at the elevator, unmoving.
“Stop gossiping about us!” You shouted out loud, to no one in particular.
When you came back home, Eri immediately hugged you, her grip was tight.
“Woah pretty girl, is everything alright?” Worry filled you, but she just shook her head.
“I missed you!” Her yell was muffled, still holding onto your legs.
You laughed, bending down to fully hug her back. She turned her head to you, whispering in your ear.
“And so did Mr. Aizawa.” Your eyes widened at that, and your eyes flashed to said man. His eyes widened, flustered that he was caught staring at you two. And he had been smiling. He turned around, ears red.
You turned back to Eri, a light blush scattering your face. “How do you know?” You whispered back.
“He had a hard time without you, and he couldn’t sleep.” She admitted, eyes wide.
“He did?” She nodded dutifully like she was telling you the biggest secret in the world. It honestly felt like it, knowing the kind of man Aizawa was. “I guess I’ll have to have to stay with you guys, huh?”
“Yes!” She jumped up, sitting down on the table to continue whatever she had been doing. You stood at the entryway for a moment, and Aizawa seemed to be really invested in making sure the dishes were extra clean.
“Aizawa-”
“Hey-”
Both you and Aizawa started at the same time, cutting each other off. You laughed, and he just smiled.
“You go first.” You egged him on, watching his face disappear in his scarf.
“I’m..sorry. For putting so much pressure on you. I know all of this hasn’t been easy, and I haven’t been the most… cooperative to be with. So I apologize.” He looked forward, not making eye contact with you.
“It’s alright, I know it’s been hard on all of us. Just don’t shut me out.” That made him look at you, and he stopped. You stopped with him, standing in the middle of the courtyard. “You said we would do this together, and I can’t do it if you shut me out. You don’t have to hide from me.” Your words were true, your voice full of that softness that made Aizawa’s strong will melt away.
“I’ll try. I promise I’ll try. I can’t do this without you, and if I’m going to be honest, I don’t think I’d want to.”
This was that familiarity you craved. Soft words that meant so much, admissions of feelings without actually outright saying what they meant. Now you couldn’t just fight out your feelings, you had to talk about them. For Eri, for each other. It was new and heart racing, it made your hands clammy and it made Aizawa soft inside. How long could you two go before one of you broke down and confessed?
Who knows, and for now it didn’t matter. All that mattered was being better for Eri. Even if that wasn’t the whole truth.
The week flew by, and both you and Aizawa were in a better mood. The distance between all of you when sleeping grew shorter and shorter, until it came to a point when all of you just held each other. Aizawa’s arm stretched too far, wrapping around your waist while he held Eri. Yours did as well, rubbing his back to soothe away the stresses of the day. Breakfasts’ were far too friendly too, he sat maybe a little closer than he should to you, and you ate food off his plate far too much. Even lunches and breaks you spent together, legs brushing together while you ranted about whatever his students got up to, and he would listen closely, laughing quietly at their antics.
Hizashi leaned over to Nemuri, the pair watching you two closely.
“You think they finally got together?” He asked, actually managing to keep his voice down.
She watched you both for a minute, pursing her lips. “Nah, not yet. Give it more time.” She shook her head, tapping three fingers on her mouth.
“How much more?” The blonde groaned, throwing his head back.
“Pshh, three/four months?” Nemuri tilted her head side to side, unsure herself.
You burst out laughing at something Aizawa said, that look of adoration filled Aizawa's eyes.
“Nah, make it two.”
The day of the festival finally arrived, and you were frazzled. Trying to find just the right outfit for Eri, while also trying to pick an outfit for yourself. Should she wear shorts? No, it's too cold for her. Pants? No she doesn't like them. Leggings? Too thin, unless she wants those thick ones, why didn't you buy the thick ones?!
"Ms. Can I wear this dress?" Eri was holding up an adorable red dress, with a white collar and frilly sleeves.
"You sure? It's kinda chilly out." You rubbed your arms to emphasize that, she nodded, determined.
"Mhm! I'll wear leg warmers and ear muffs!"
"Well, maybe it's not cold enough for ear muffs, but let's get you some leg warmers, alright?" You turned around to shuffle in her dresser, trying to find that specific white pair you bought a while back.
Aizawa walked in, holding a puke green sweater.
"Eri, why don't you wear this to the festival?" He held up the sweater, an ugly cat with bright pink lettering on the front. Both of you just stared at him.
"Uhm, I would but Ms. already picked an outfit for me." She pointed at you going through her drawer, red dress on your arm and leg warmers in your hand. That little shit.
Aizawa looked over to you, still holding up the jacket.
"Why doesn't she wear this instead? Or she could wear the sweater over it?" He offered, very adamant she wears the damn thing.
You grimaced, a painful smile growing on your face.
"No offense, but that's the ugliest sweater I've ever seen. So no." You shook your head, and you watched him deflate a little.
"I thought it was cute." He mumbled, holding it close to his chest while he walked out.
"Mr. Zawa, don't be sad!" Eri chased after him, arms flailing as she ran to him. You smiled and rolled your eyes, he's such a drama queen.
"Eri, come one you have to get ready honey!" You called out after picking everything you needed for her to wear. Walking out to the living room, she was rubbing his back while he stared at the jacket.
"Even Hizashi called it ugly, but I thought the kitty was cute." Aizawa was resting his head between interlocked hands, staring at the same sweater like it was a child he lost so long ago. A deep sadness in his eyes.
"And it is cute, I just uhm, don't wanna wear it right now. Maybe in one hour, but not now." Eri reassured, more just patting his back now. In Eri speak, one hour meant never, little brain too young to comprehend what one hour actually meant. Time was a fickle thing, something that escaped us so easily, and a concept to abstract for the pure mind of a child.
But for now, you just rolled your eyes. There's no way he thought that was cute.
"Eri sweetheart, you need to get dressed. We have to leave in an hour and none of us are even in clothes." You called out again, voice soft but stern. Her red eyes lifted, and she turned around.
"Okay! Wait for me please!" She asked, taking all the clothes out from your hands. She rushed to the bedroom, as if the moment she left as would you two.
Now that she was gone, you sat at the table with the brooding man, who was still just staring at the piece of clothing.
"Is it really that ugly?" He wasn't looking at you, and he couldn't see your very annoyed face.
"Yes, yes it is. But, you tried, and that's all that matters." You grabbed his forearm and squeezed. "Now we also need to get dressed, because you take forever to get ready."
That made him look at you, an annoyed look on his face.
"No I do not. You do, picking out an outfit takes an hour alone." He pointed to you.
"What?! Nuh uh, you fall asleep halfway putting your clothes on, and it takes you forever to wake back up!" You argued back, sitting up straight to point an accusing finger at him.
"I'm actually a very light sleeper, I just willfully ignore you." He admitted, face devoid of any shame or regret.
"You dick!" You smiled, pushing his shoulder. "I thought you slept like the dead. Instead, you just look dead." You teased, no bite in your tone.
"Ha ha, don't act like you don't find me attractive." Aizawa quipped back, dark eyes staring at you. That made you sputter, face heating up in a blush.
"Shut up!"
"Good response." He chuckled, and you both turned back into the hallway. Eri looked at you two, then looked in between you. You both followed her eyesight, and froze when you both realized you were holding hands. You hadn't even noticed it, you must've missed the feeling of his thumb running across your knuckles, and he missed your hand enveloped in his. You both immediately pulled away, standing up.
"I've got to go get ready-" You started, pointing to the bedroom.
"Yes, I should get dressed-" He shuffled, looking everywhere but you.
"Yup! Let's…get dressed!" Your voice was a bit higher than normal. You both stood there staring at each other, before you both bolted to your shared bedroom.
Eri stood there, before she walked up to the table and grabbed your phone. Unlocking it easily, she went to the secret group chat she had with your other teachers, spilling the tea willingly.
"I swear to God Aizawa, I'll punt your kid." You growled, holding Eri's hand while you walked through the crowd of students and parents. Eri was too fascinated by everything around her to care what you two were talking about.
"I know, I apologize for his behavior. He's not usually this abhorrent." He sighed, free hand coming up to pinch his nose.
"From what I heard, that was tame." You looked over to him, giving him a look. He sighed and shook his head. Aizawa looked up again, making direct eye contact with a tired purple-haired boy.
"Let's go this way, I'd like to introduce you two to someone." He nodded his head in the direction of the student, and you looked at the grown man wearily.
"This is Hitoshi Shinso, a student from the general course." Said boy bowed respectfully, body stiff and uncomfortable.
"Hello Shinso, it's nice to meet you." You bowed your head, looking around the rather bland stall. They were serving candy apples, nothing more and nothing less.
"It's nice to finally meet you." He said, tired eyes looking between all of you. That stopped you, and you made a confused face.
"'Finally meet me?' What does that mean?" Eri wiggled out of yours and Aizawa's hands, shyly going forward to ask one of the students working at the stall for a taste. Aizawa stood still, eyes going wide.
"Well, Aizawa-sensei talks about you frequently-" The purple-haired boy looked confused for a moment, looking between you and the slightly panicking man.
"Because we used to spar together. Shinso wants to join the hero course, so I've been training him since the sports festival." Aizawa cut him off, looking at him to shut the fuck up.
"Oh, I kinda wondered where you were sometimes. Makes sense." You shrugged, brushing off the weird behavior. You looked back at the boy, giving him a smile. "I hope you make it, if Aizawa takes the time out of his day to help you out, I'm sure you've got talent."
That made his droopy eyes widen a little, seemingly caught off guard by the compliment. He flustered, bowing again.
"I'll try my best."
"I love these! Mr. Zawa! Ms.! Mr. Shinso, you have to try it!" Eri came bounding back to you three, holding up a bitten into candy apple and shoving it in your directions. Aizawa and Shinso looked disgusted, but you bent down to take a bite, humming happily.
"Mmm, tasty!" You smiled, and she beamed. Aizawa seemed hesitant, but the look on her face melted away his will. He took his turn, taking a small bite on an untouched place on the sweet. He hummed as well, his small smile a little bit more forced than yours. He was never a man for sweets.
Shinso just stood on the spot, looking between you with a look that said you can't be serious. You motioned for him to take a bite.
"It's really good." You egged, trying to at least get him to try. He grimaced but leaned down to take the world's smallest bite. He smiled shakily.
"Mmm, so good." He covered his mouth while he chewed, trying to hide his pure disgust. It's not that he didn't like sweets, but asking him to share food with two grown adults and a sticky child? His worst nightmare, honestly.
Eri just smiled, so happy she found something she enjoyed all by herself, and of her own free will. She grabbed your hand, eating it happily while looking for something else to do.
"It was nice to meet you Shinso." You nodded, but Eri got your attention once more.
"They're serving ice cream, can we get some? Please?" She was already tugging you away, and you waved goodbye.
"I'll be right there." Aizawa waved goodbye, sticking around his protégé's stall.
"She's just as you described her." Shinso admitted, unwillingly swallowing his bite. There was no malice in his tone, in fact, there was a tone of wonder. He wished he could have someone like you in his life.
"Yeah." Aizawa smiled softly, watching you eat the ice cream with Eri. His will to keep you away at arm's length slipped away by the second, because to do so pained him, made him realize how lonely he'd been without you. "She is."
"The show's gonna start soon." You reminded Aizawa, who was trying not to itch away his kitty face painting. You ignored your dog face paint.
"C'mon Mr. Zawa! I wanna see Deku and his classmates!" Eri was pulling you two by the sleeves, her dragon face screwed up with the effort.
"I'm-hold on you two." He grunted, pulling his lips in and making a somewhat apologetic face at the Gen Ed student, who was busy drawing a caricature of the three of you. "I'm sorry, they're animals."
They chuckled nervously, painting the final touches to their drawing. They handed the drawing over, and Aizawa allowed himself to be pulled away.
"Don't either of you even want to see it?" He asked, a little surprised that you two didn't even take a peak.
"No! We're gonna miss the opening!" You huffed, and Eri agreed. He sighed but followed your lead.
You entered the main building, where he could see his students preparing to go on stage, Hizashi joined them from the back, skipping his patrol to watch his beloved students as well. Eri had climbed up on your shoulders, bouncing happily while she searched for Midoriya.
"What'cha got there dude?" He pointed a finger to the rolled-up paper, Aizawa just threw it to his chest, too focused on his kids to care what he said. Hizashi opened it up, giggling when he saw the drawing. The student had made you and Aizawa a couple, you kissing his cheek while he looked grumpily at Eri, who was staring at both of you with gigantic eyes. It was cute, and Hizashi snapped a quick picture before handing it back.
But Aizawa wasn't looking at him, or the students. He was looking at you two. Pure adoration filled his eyes, a real genuine smile on his face.
Yeah, give them a month.
"Are you sure?" You looked over Eri with worry, holding the thick weighted blanket over her.
She nodded again. "I had a good day! I'm supposed to be a big girl, I can sleep by myself."
"Okay, we'll leave all the doors open if you have a nightmare, alright?"
"Okay, and will you read me a story, and leave my nightlight on?"
"Yes, of course." Aizawa nodded from the foot of the bed, already having a book out.
"Okay, taco or burrito?" You asked, looking at her mischievously. She gave you a confused look, mulling it over for a moment.
"Burrito?" She looked unsure, but otherwise trusting.
"Alright, first I laid down the tortilla." You flattened the sheets around her, then flattened her. She giggled when you went over her face. "Then I gotta put down some rice." You tickled her sides, and she squirmed, squealing. "Then I gotta put in meat." You grabbed all her favorite stuffed animals, putting them by her side. "And some lettuce." You gently brushed a finger using up motions on her nose, watching her eyes fluttering with the soft movement. "And I would put beans but I don't like beans, yucky." You made a face. "Then I gotta wrap it all up." You tucked her into the blanket tight, but not too tight. Picking her up slightly to get it under her. "Story?"
"Yes please." She whispered tiredly, eyes half closed. Aizawa scooted up, coming over to lay on the side by the wall, opposite of you. He opened the book, new spine cracking.
"Once there was a fluffy bunny…."
She fell asleep halfway through, her soft little snores filling the room. You both slowly crawled out of bed, and you made sure to plug in her star night light. You got up slowly, trying to creep backward before you tripped over a loose toy. You flailed back, but strong arms caught you before you could fall. You both sighed in relief and continued your crawl outside.
You left her bedroom door open and yours, both of you slipping out of normal clothes and putting on pajamas. You both did your nightly routine, you brushed your teeth together tiredly, washed your faces together, you made him start to do skin care and other menial things. When you both separated, mumbling goodnight, you shut the lights off.
There was silence, not a sound from the outside world disturbed the two of you. But you couldn't just fall asleep.
"...Aizawa?" You whispered very very quietly, if he was asleep it'd be too quiet for him to hear, but if he was awake….
"...yeah?" His voice was quiet as well. So he was awake.
"Can't sleep?" You looked over to his side of the room, your view blocked by the hideous blue curtain.
"No."
There was a beat of silence, and you mulled over your words. In the same quiet voice you used the first time, just in case he denied you could pretend it never happened.
"...do you wanna cuddle?"
Another pause.
"...yeah." You slowly got out of bed, and padded to his side of the room. Without a word, he scooted over, lifting the sheets for you to crawl under.
There was space between you two, you stared at him with wide eyes and he stared at you with red ears. You scooted closer, and he lifted his arm, inviting you in. Without a word, you scooted under his arms, wrapping your legs around his hips. In turn, he tucked your head under his chin, holding your back tightly, rubbing small circles into your back.
His heartbeat was fast and erratic, and his fast breathing betrayed his cool face. But you just closed your eyes, focusing on his heart. The heart that unknowingly belonged to you, and only you.
You both fell asleep like that, Eri hadn't come in to disturb you two. Neither of you had shifted away from each other in the morning, basking in each other's warmth knowing full well the other was awake.
___________________________________________
The next month flew by, and Eri grew more confident in herself, sleeping more often than not by herself. The commission still demanded daily reports, but there wasn't much to report.
Both you and Aizawa continued with your unspoken closeness, sleeping I'm his bed and doing your daily routine together.
When Endeavor had that big fight with the Nomu, you all went over to support Shoto, watching the fight with him. And for once in the few months that you had known the boy, he was terrified. All of you ignored the tears that he spilled. Regretting what you had said in the comfort of your own home during the billboard charts.
"Is Shoto going to be okay?" Eri asked later that day in the comfort in your arms. Your head was leaning against Aizawa's chest, his steady breathing comforted you.
"Yeah, he'll be alright, he's strong." You rubbed her head, mindful of her steadily growing horn. You and Aizawa decided you would wait until asking her to practice her quirk. Maybe someday in the future, she could help Togata?
___________________________________________
"So they finally got their hero license?" You teased, sipping a cup of hot cocoa. Little marshmallows in your cup. Eri happily sipped at hers, getting the drink all over her face.
"Yes, and less than an hour later they used it. They're going to drive me into an early grave." He chuckled.
"Well, did they do a good job?" You asked, wiping at Eri's face. She squirmed, trying to pull her head away from you.
"Sure, but they made a he-ck of a mess. Plus, we had to teach them how to act in interviews." Eri eyed him pointedly when she heard a curse on his lips, and Aizawa quickly corrected himself. He didn't have any change on him to put in the swear jar.
You laughed, almost spitting out the liquid in your mouth. "I saw the interview! God, they're such problem children!"
He shook his head. "Don't even get me started on the number of times I told Bakugo that using excessive force, even on a villain, is illegal."
"Ahh, you love them." You waved him off, and he pushed himself off the kitchen counter, sitting beside you.
"Eh, love's a strong word." He shook his hand in a so-so motion but didn't deny it.
"Loser." You chuckled, resting your head on his shoulder, wearing that black sweater from so long ago.
"Yeah, whatever." He leaned his head on yours, enjoying the sound of Eri coloring and your soft breathing. Enjoying the domesticity of it all. One could get used to it.
The air continued to get colder, your clothes got thicker, and even earmuffs were pulled out. Your little found family decided to take a day out, trying to get your minds off the fact the kids were out on work studies again, and the foreboding feeling that came from the meeting that morning. Feeling absolutely helpless at the slow destruction of the world around you. The muttering of a traitor still made your skin crawl. Eri hummed happily between you two, excited to go out and eat ramen. Her little kitty earmuffs bouncing with her.
"She seems happy." Aizawa chuckled, wrapped in a normal scarf for once. He donned on a thick gray sweater, a black turtleneck underneath. You were wearing the black sweater again, copying his style and you wore a white turtleneck, but no scarf. You held onto Eri's hands with stylish black gloves, while she wore thick white ones.
"Yeah, she gets to spend time with her Zawa, she misses you." You looked up at him, watching guilt flood him. Aizawa let out a sigh, holding onto her hand a little tighter.
"I know, but you know how it is." He sighed, looking down. Your own body ached, the dim mornings made it a little harder for you to fight as you normally would, but thanks to Aizawa's training your patrols weren't as difficult as they used to be.
"Yeah, I think she just missed both of us. But, I've missed you too. Your bed's so cold without you." You admitted, face growing red now, not only because of the cold. He looked back at you, eyebrows pointing up.
"Me too, I'm sorry."
"Don't be, just promise me one thing?" You asked, swallowing down tears.
"Of course." Aizawa hates making promises. At any moment he could break them, such menial words that meant nothing at the end of the day. But for you? He'd give the world.
"Come back home alive. I can't do this without you." Your breath puffed, all three of you had come to a stop at a crosswalk. Your hair moved slightly in the chill air, the dewy morning made your eyes sparkle. How could he say no?
"I promise." And there was no trace of doubt in his voice. Because for you? He would, he had too.
Christmas arrived sooner than you thought, and the whole of UA was decked out with the holiday decorations. The incident at Deka was forgotten for a moment of peace. You and Aizawa woke up to Eri jumping up and down on the bed, already adorned with a Santa hat.
"Wake up! Santa came by, Santa came by!" She yelled happily, fists pumping up and down in joy.
"Hohohoho!" A loud, high-pitched voice laughed from your living room. Aizawa groaned, shoving his face back in your hair. You rubbed the sleep from your eyes, sitting up to smile at her. Aizawa groaned, his eyes burned more than usual today, usually, he'd spend the morning while you rubbed his eyes with your soft fingers, but Eri was absolutely determined to get up and open her presents.
"Alright, we're coming." You laughed softly, getting up. Eri ran out, jumping up and down in front of Santa who was definitely not Hizashi.
"Hey, you two!" He yelled, holding a large sack.
"Happy Thanksgiving!" She yelled, holding up a present while jumping from foot to foot.
"Eri, it's Merry Christmas." Aizawa shook his head, squatting down to inspect the present, still only wearing pajama shorts.
"Oh Aizawa, it's whatever holiday she wants." You gushed.
That was the mood of your morning, watching and recording Eri open her presents. Happily watching her squeal over cars and coloring books and tea sets, she then found a small table for tea parties for her. You passed along presents for Hizashi, and he passed presents for you two from the other staff members. You happily got photo albums from the year so far, and other tokens of interest. Aizawa's presents mostly consisted of cat things or things related to coffee, which he was more than happy to accept.
"Well, I'll be off! See you later!" Hizashi saluted you away, leaving the front door.
"Bye Santa!" Eri cheered, now trying to read  'Goodnight Moon.' "When are we gonna see class A?" She turned to you two snuggled up on the couch, still so excited. A distant memory popped into her head, one of her own parents snuggled up on the couch.
"Later sweetheart, after school." You promised, Aizawa nodded along with you.
She pouted. "But that's so far away." She looked down, tears pooling in her eyes.
"Eri don't be upset, it'll come sooner than you think." Aizawa reassured, motioning for her to join your little cuddle.
You spent the rest of the short morning like that, unwillingly getting ready for the day.
"Aizawa she looks so happy, don't take it away from her." Your arms were interlocked, one hand resting on his forearm. While he was embarrassed by having you show so much PDA, in front of his own students no less, but he allowed it. Who knows how long it will last?
"It's twice the size of her. Where is she going to keep a gigantic sword?" He sounded exasperated, holding an Easter egg that Eri gave him, God knows where she got them from.
"In her roooom. C'mon, I can already tell you're going to let her keep it." You pouted, a knowing smirk on your face. The man sighed because he knew you were right, the instant she smiled he knew it was already going to come home. Aizawa saw her nodding off by Bakugo's side, while he held her shoulders so she didn't slip off the couch.
"Ope, looks like it's bedtime." You sighed, escaping his grasp. Mentally he whined at the loss of contact, but on the outside, he just nodded. "Eri?" You called out to the little girl, getting some of the students' attention.
"Take her, she's falling asleep in my lap." The blonde hissed, but he didn't actually sound mad, and he was keeping his voice down.
"'Mnot tired." She whined, wiping her eyes.
"It's still late, we should get home." Aizawa scooped her up, supporting her head in his shoulder.
"Goodnight everyone! Work hard on your hero studies and don't stay up too late!" You waved them goodbye, voice merry.
After you left, they all stared at each other.
"I told you they were dating!" Kaminari cheered, collecting money from the other students he made bets with.
Eri went to bed easy that night, falling asleep barely halfway into her bedtime story. It was only seven, so you got ready in another outfit. You dressed in a sweater dress with thermal leggings and thick, tall fuzzy boots. Aizawa watched you, putting on a simple black turtleneck, much to his own disapproval.
"Those are tacky, seriously?" He motioned to the tan shoes, pointing at the twin puff balls on each shoe. You stood up, getting an added height boost thanks to the boots.
"Says you. You were just gonna go to a bar in your hero outfit. Aren't you concerned someone might recognize you fraternizing with like, twenty other drunks?" You argued back, arms crossed on your chest, one hop to the side. Your hair, freshly cleaned and full of products to make it shiny and voluminous, bounced around your shaking head. Aizawa stared at you for a moment, glad his hair was down, ears absolutely burning.
"Better than your tacky shoes." He mumbled, grabbing your shoulder bag. "Let's go, I don't want to be there longer than we should. I want to start my winter break as soon as possible."
You accepted the bag, sliding it around you. Mirio greeted you from the living room, along with Amijiki and Hado. They were watching Christmas movies on the couch. How fitting.
"Just call us if anything goes wrong, we won't be too far away." Aizawa nodded, standing by your side.
"Or if it's too much, or even if you just want to go home, give us a call." You reassured the trio, but Hado had already gotten up to shoo you two out the door. "Seriously, it's no big deal. If you-"
"We'll be fine! Have fun on your date!" The blue-haired girl closed and locked the door behind you, leaving you stunned.
You two just stood there for a moment, before you decided to speak up.
"Does it count as a date if you're out with your coworkers?" You laughed, heading to the elevator.
“Woohoo! Another round, let’s go!” Hizashi’s loud voice boomed in the shabby bar, face absolutely flushed as he hung onto Nemuri and Aizawa. The woman steadily agreed, but Aizawa was too out of it to notice, instead, he patted the loud blonde's chest.
“You’re a good man Hizashi, I don’t say it enough, but you really are. You’ve been my friend since the very beginning, and you’ve always looked out for me.” Aizawa’s words moved you, even if his eyes weren’t directly on Hizashi, they were on the golden cat in front of them, but no one said anything, it still made your eyes water.
“Oh, Aizawa, you’re such a sweetheart. I knew you had a big heart under all of there.” You leaned forward, pressing his head into your chest. He brought up a hand to your back, pressing you further into him.
“And you, you’re the second person I’ve realized I was in love with, but I’m so scared that I’ll lose you that I try to push you away. But just like you, you always come back to me. I don’t know what I’ll do without you.” He mumbled, holding you tightly while tears pricked his eyes. His words, his admission of feelings made you sob. Loudly.
“I love you too! But I feel like one day you’ll just wake up and hate me, o-or you’ll slowly just get fed up with me.” You hiccuped and sobbed, rounds and rounds of shots catching up to you. Between you, Aizawa, Nemuri, Hizashi, Snipe, and Anan, you were on your third bottle of vodka, not counting all the side drinks and shots all of you ordered.
The waiter came up to your table, absolutely pissed off. “No, I’m cutting all of you off. It’s twelve in the morning, all of you need to get out!” She yowled, cat ears and tail pointing straight up.
“Oh cmon, we’r not even thaaat dr’nk! Watch me.” Snipe slurred, stumbling up and almost tripping over his own feet. He attempted to walk in a straight line, egged on by Sejikiro and Ken. When he ultimately fell over, Ryo howled with laughter, literally.
“All of you need to get out before I call the police! And ban you all!” That got you all moving up, getting banned from the only cheap shit in the hole bar closest to UA? Yeah no.
You, Nemuri, and Hizashi all stumbled out together, holding each other to try and fight off the freezing night air.
“Goddd, did anyone get what those two said on camera?” Nemuri giggled, putting her head in her hands.
“Dammit!” Hizashi yelled, Aizawa instantly activating his quirk.
“Don’t yell, you’re being too loud.” You whined, tears gathering in your puffy eyes again.
“Aizawa isn’t going to remember a thing, and neither is she.” Hizashi groaned, almost falling in the road. The school was only a few feet ahead, but that seemed like miles to your intoxicated bodies and drunk minds.
“You two, have to remember that.” Nemuri laughed, obviously a happy drunk.
“They’re not going to!” Hizashi yelled again, an angry drunk.
“No, you all know how much you mean to me, do I have to say it again.” Aizawa slurred out, an honest drunk.
“No, I don’t, you have to tell me.” You sobbed, a sad drunk.
“Shut up! We’re here, we have to be quieeet.” Angry drunk whisper shouted, pushing you all to the teacher dorms.
“We are.” Happy drunk giggled, allowing herself to be moved. “Oh! But you guys can’t have drunk sex, not with Eri there.” The dark-haired woman turned to you two, winking while making a shushing motion.
“No, I would never do that to her, I’d want to have that intimacy very sober.” Aizawa nodded, holding you tight.
“You’re so sweet.” Tears never stopped falling down your falling down your face.
You all managed to make yourself to your dorm. Packing into the same elevator. Nemuri got off first, waiting by the door because Anan had the key to their apartment. Then Hizashi got off, loudly ripping his door open to his and Ryo’s shared space.
Then it was yours and Aizawa’s turn, both of you trying the best you could to quietly stumble into your home. You did well for the most part, only dropping and bumping into a few things. The big three had fallen asleep on the couch, Christmas reruns still playing. You both managed to make it to your shared room, peeling off clothes until you both were in your underwear, deciding it was too hot to wear the warm clothes you had on before.
“Wait, wait. We need to take medicine in the morning for Eri. We can’t just be hungover all day.” Aizawa stumbled into the bathroom and grabbed the large cup and four pills.
He let you take two first, handing you the glass for you to chug. He wasn’t even mad when you downed the whole thing, just going back for more to take his turn.
You both crawled into his bed, cuddling each other tight.
“You’re such a good man, and such a good father.” There were no more tears left for you to cry, so you just heaved into his chest.
“No, I’m only good f’you. Before I never wanted kids, but the idea of having one with you made me jump the gun with Eri. I wouldn’t mind us two having a little brat around, maybe two.” He curled up tighter against you, mumbling things in your ear while sleep overtook you two.
___________________________________________
The next morning you two remember absolutely nothing. Just mildly hungover and slightly confused on why you were both just in your underwear.
“D-did…did we..?” You questioned, face heating up at the idea. Aizawa seemed to contemplate something, grimacing while flickering eyes between the wall and you.
“Can you…walk?”
You stood up, moving with ease. Aizawa sighed in relief.
“No, we didn’t.” He rubbed his sore neck, head aching.
“Oh good.” You sighed with him before your face absolutely blossomed.
“Hey, what the hell does that mean?!”
“That’s fifty cents in the swear jar Ms.!” Eri yelled at you from the living room.
___________________________________________
You and Aizawa decide to stay in the dorms for the New Years, deciding to keep Eri in a place she’s familiar with when all the fireworks go off. You and Aizawa had been invited out for drinks, but you both declined unanimously. All of you wore comfy clothes, wearing matching sweaters you had drifted out for Christmas. You handed out hot chocolate, using cups Aizawa himself had gifted out, each of them personalized to you. His was full of grumpy black cats, and paw prints all over the inside. Yours was coated with your favorite animal smiling, the footprints on the inside in the same manner. Eri’s was filled with butterflies, her inside filled with little caterpillars.
“To show that she is capable of change and that she’s grown so much in these short few months.”
You cuddled up to Aizawa, his hand snaking around your waist. A white cat that Aizawa had found on the street purred up to Eri, headbutting her while she watched the screen.
“Ready Eri?” You asked, smiling as she grabbed the cat, not breaking her eye contact with the TV.
“Mhm!”
There was coverage of people crowding the streets, all of them laughing and enjoying themselves while they huddled together to count down. Then, it was the last minute of the year.
Aizawa called your name, grabbing your attention.
“I’ve never been good with words, or my feelings, but I have something to admit.” That made your eyes widen and heart quicken. Fourty!
“But there has been something that I’ve needed to admit to you, something I only recently realized.” He set down his coffee cup, bringing up a warm to cup your face. Thirty!
“I-I..” The words died on his lips, but he wouldn’t back out now, not when he realized he needed you so much. After Christmas, he doesn’t know what changed, but something did. The few five days he had felt such undeniable feelings he couldn’t hide anymore. Or maybe it was the feelings he had all along that he couldn’t keep at bay. “I need you. In a way that I haven’t needed in a long time.” Twenty!
“You’ve become such in an important person in my life, and I can’t stop it. I think of you all the time, I do so much just to keep you at my side, and the thought of losing you keeps me up sometimes, and makes me work harder during my patrols.”  Ten!.
”Aizawa…” Tears were filling your beautiful eyes, and he wiped them away before they could fall. Nine!
“Even seeing you cry fills me with agony, and it pains me even more knowing I made you cry.” Six!
“What I’m trying to say is, stand by my side, be with me, spend the rest of our lives together?” Instead of answering his words, you responded by pressing your lips to his. Holding his face while he reciprocated your touch.
Happy New Years!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So..what are we again?” You were smiling so wide and so hard it hurt. The hand that was brushing your face stopped, and Aizawa-no Shouta rolled onto his back, making you rest his head on his large chest.
“Oh god, are you going to tease me about this? I take everything back.” He groaned, trying to push you away.
“It’s too late, you’ve sealed your fate.” You deepened your voice trying to sound scary. You overpowered his grip, or maybe he let you win, and cuddled back into his arms. “Sooo….”
He sighed heavily. “You’re my partner.” You groaned, making a fart sound.
“No! Well, yes, but wrong. What’s the hyper-feminine, gender-conforming title that I now hold.” Shouta sighed heavily again.
“You’re my…girlfriend. And I’m your boyfriend.” You squealed, kicking your feet under the blankets. “How old are you?” He chuckled.
“Five, boyfriend. Do you know how long I’ve waited for this? Too damn long, that’s how long.” You punched him lightly.
“Yeah I know, me too…girlfriend.” The moonlight shone on his face, showing you his smile that was just as wide as yours.
Everything was going to be okay.
It just had to be.

I’d like to believe they didn’t find Toga’s body, or she faked her death. Being a master of disguise and the cameras weren’t on her at the time, she could have made one last clone of herself.
Tumblr media
There could be one last happy ending for the villains after all.
Toga found her way to Spinner after his book was a success and disguised herself as his bodyguard or what not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They get Compress and Geten out of jail.
Tumblr media
Toga tiptoes her way around Ochako and the hero society. She hears through the grapevine of Katsuma Shimano and his abilities. Eventually the boy and his family come to visit Deku and his [former] classmates.
Tumblr media
Toga manages to get some of Recovery Girl’s blood and transforms into her. Toga also steals her security clearance badge and convinces Katsuma to help her secretly heal Touya as a surprise for his family. [Eri could also be brought in to this somehow]🤷🏻‍♀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Touya’s bodyguards were paid hush money by the fake Recovery Girl (using funds from Spinner). Touya’s restoration happened after visiting hours.
The Todoroki family return to an empty jail cell and unconscious guards. Katsuma [& Eri] huddled in shock after witnessing Recovery Girl’s transformation into an acrobatic assailant who tag teams with a restored Touya in incapacitating the guards. Touya thanked the kid(s) and asked for a message to be relayed to his family: “Sorry for everything.”
