"The twins and their future lovers"
I thought it would be cute to showcase the ships our fandoms have for the Lokisson twins! In a world where at least Vali survives.. we dont talk about Narfi. Either he lives happily in helheim with his kid and sister or has a boyfreind where he is safe!🥲
Also they are just looking into the future and alternative universes, some are cannon to my lore and others belong mostly to freinds!
!!Though be aware of a character spoiler for: Goddess of nothing at all, by the way!!
Narfi looks just like his father..but don't tell him that 😅
Characters:

ÞRÚÐR, THE LEADER OF THE SUPPORT VALKYRIES IS HERE!!!
And bigger than ever! The daughter of thunder is now bigger, larger, hotter and stronger than before. Finally the size fit for the Thorsdóttir.
Daughter of Thor and sister of Lóriði, Magni and Móði, she'd always been a pile of muscles even as a baby and from young age, had started training to one day surpass her father and earn the thunder-herald hammer Mjölnir, but her siblings didn't liked the idea, so had an idea to prevent her from gaining all of her father's attention for ever...
How will her story unravel? Keep following my works to find out :D

I'm going to be That Person(tm) for a second, I offer no excuse:
As much as I love the whole take on the Valkyrie in TotG, I absolutely hate how they just... have one job. That's not how it goes with the sagas. Here you go, all known Valkyrie or suspected:
Brynhildr (The Ring Cycle) Eir (Known handmaiden to Freya, minor Aesir but known for being a goddess of healing) Geirahöð Geiravör Geirdriful Geirönul, Geirrönul, Geirömul, Geirölul (various spellings) Geirskögul Göll Göndul Guðr or Gunnr (One of those who would gather the war-dead from battle fields.) Herfjötur Herja Hlaðguðr svanhvít Hildr Hjalmþrimul Hervör alvitr Hjörþrimul Hlökk Hrist Hrund Kára Mist Ölrún Randgríðr, Randgrid Ráðgríðr Reginleif Róta Sanngriðr Sigrdrífa (Sounds familiar, doesn't it?) Sigrún (Potential lead Valkyrie) Skalmöld Skeggöld or Skeggjöld Skögul Skuld Sveið Svipul Þögn Þrima Þrúðr (Or Thrud Thorsdottir.)
Now, out of all those names, each had a task assigned to them. If you want to do the specifics, here's the list.
My point?
Diminishing Valkyrie down to being sexy, otherworldly creatures is rather a disservice. But if you want to read the actual saga, here: Volsunga Saga. It's like God of War - considerably to the left of the original source material.

Hey! I know this seems random, but I’ve been looking for people to rp vikings and I’m Norse, have you found many people? I would make a blog for a Viking character if I knew there were people out there. Let me know, thanks! - ooc.

I miss the more spiritual/solemn aspects of vulture culture. I understand that we all have different philosophies, but I wish more vultures saw animal remains as the individuals they were in life. I don't actively collect animal remains anymore, I only pick them up when I happen upon them, and I feel like it gives me a different kind of appreciation for the animals. I can take the time to get to know each pelt and skull.
I don't know if you remember, but I DM'ed you a few years ago to ask for some spiritual guidance regarding a cat pelt. Your considerate and serious reply stuck with me and it ended up changing the path I was on. I no longer think of myself as a collector, but more of a guardian of these animals. And I just want to thank you for that
Here are a few of my charges - the aforementioned cat, Skjald, Vili the fox, Þrúðr the roe deer, Þjálfi the roe deer, Víðarr the fox, and Röskva the roe deer (featuring some of my late stick insects)
Though I definitely won't blame you for taking a step back, I just want you to know that your presence in the vulture culture community has mattered. Thank you :)
This just made me feel so incredibly happy ;A; !!!
Due to some uncomfortable questions I was getting in my inbox, I stopped talking about my spiritual practices online. It was something I came to independently and incorporated as part of my daily life, so I wasn't really keen on people asking really intrusive questions about my practices. I'm Kemetic, I work with Anpu/Yineput and Bastet and animal preservation is a big part of that. All the animals I work on are done to honor Anpu and that's something that brings me a lot of joy while working. I still bond with all the critters I bring into my home. Taking pictures and sharing their stories, restoring and cleaning them, and just spending time with each one to remember and honor that animal's life. Research became and extension of that. The more I learned about pathologies, genetics, anthropology, and human's relationships with various species, the more I wanted to find ways to utilize my collection for public education and to aid with conservation efforts. It just became very important for me to give back to the remains that taught me so much.
I do remember and I'm very glad to have helped! My taxidermy mentor when I got started was so kind and helpful and she taught me so much. She's still very much a role model to me and from the beginning and I wanted to share my love for the craft the way she shared her passion with me. I'm at the point where I know I want to move on into a professional role, and don't want to be associated with a community I feel has become far less caring about animals then it used to be. It's not everyone, just a loud minority from what I've seen. It's the disgusting actions and attitudes towards animals and animal remains that I can't stand to be associated with in any capacity, and the offenses are happening more frequently and without reprimand. I'm at my limit and I know it'll be better for me going forward to distance myself.
I really can see how much love has gone into your collection. I don't wanna get too sappy but looking at your photos just makes me fell very happy ;o;

Þrúðr’s backstory!!! Woooooo
After Hildr, time for the leader of the support Valkyries.
Here it is:
For as long as she could remember, Þrúðr already had a strength comparable to that of her father Thor and siblings Magni and Loriði which provided the spotlight among the gods, who presented her with the most incredible items. Her father felt that his daughter could be the next wielder of Möjlnir and began training her from an early age so that one day she would take her place as the caster of lightning. His training was cruel and demanded more than 100% of herself, but she’d never had the will for war and fighting like her father and siblings, so she descended to the human world to get her head out of constant training, it was then that she found a village of humans and tried to befriend them, but her immense strength and large body made her a freak and forced her to flee into the forest where she found a little girl who lived alone.
As a last resort to make at least one friend, Þrúðr approached the little girl, who reacted the same way she did when she was chased away by the villagers. After a calm explanation, both understood that they suffered from the same problem: they were very strong and this scared the others. At that moment a great friendship began between Thor’s daughter and the girl named Róta. The two did everything together and as the little girl's mother had died while she was still small, it was Þrúðr who taught her to hunt and survive.
As she trained, the only thing on her mind was getting back to her friend in Midgard. The willingness to stay with her friend made her finish her training with such veracity that the gods who witnessed said it was Thor himself in there. The thunder god saw her as the perfect successor to him, even more than his other children, leaving them burning with hatred and envy. Magni and Loriði would not accept that their younger sister would take their items and rank as god of thunder, Mjölnir, Járnreipr and especially Megingjörd, so the two decided that they would finish off their sister once and for all.
Years passed and neither of them found ways to destroy Þrúðr, who was tough like Thor and strong like Angrboða and Móðguðr, it was then that, on one of her trips to Midgard and Móði finds out about her and tells Magni and Loriði, that they thought of a plan that would make her lose her honor and rank as Thor's favorite (actually, Loriði alone had thought of it).
However, before putting her plan into action, the goddess, disguised as an animal, spied on their relationship. Then Loriði, disguised as Thor, went up against a Thunder God-following tribe north of the village of Róta and instructed them to pillage the village to the south. They accepted and prepared to destroy the village of Róta, meanwhile Loriði would delay Þrúðr's meeting with Róta as long as possible
When it was time for the attack, Magni, disguised as Thor, led his followers into the attack. Villagers barely had time to react when their houses caught fire and their neighbors fell one by one. Until a large girl with limbs like logs appeared and defeated an entire group of Vikings with her bare hands. Magni was waiting for her but was unaware of her Herculean strength, which made it difficult to put her down, but after a good amount of axes and spears stuck into her body, she fell. The plan was going exactly as Loriði wanted and Þrúðr had no idea what she would find. After Þrúðr arrives in Midgard and finds her friend's village completely devastated and no survivors, the girl blames herself for not having protected Róta, who now lay in Helheim. Her sadness, however, is short-lived when she discovers who the Vikings were who did this. Blinded by fury, Þrúðr heads north towards her friend's assassins' village and decimates everyone there, also preventing them from going to Valhalla.
After her anger dissipated, the girl found herself with no path to follow. What would she do? Her quick thinking gave her an idea: she would ask her grandfather to bring her friend to the hall of dead warriors. In Asgard, Þrúðr begs Odin, the all-father, to bring Róta into her arms. However, the King of the Fallen would not accept such a request for two reasons: Not even he would be able to enter Helheim as he pleased and take anyone he wanted (as he would have already done to increase the number of Einherjar) and the second reason was that Þrúðr, by preventing the passage of the dead Vikings to Valhalla, she diminished the number of Einherjars for his army in Ragnarok. Thor, who was together in the hall, forced himself to maintain his composure, but he wanted to crush his daughter's head with Mjölnir for the shame she made him go through.
With more ideas, only one left. Loriði, who was in the hall with the other gods listening to Þrúðr's request, smiled as she knew her sister's last resort: Þrúðr got on her feet and, with a strong stomp, said that she herself would go to Helheim. The gods around him gasped in amazement, there was no way she could enter Helheim and leave as she pleased, and even less if Róta had fallen into Niflheim, the realm of the forgotten. Loriði's plan was going exactly as predicted, or at least that's what she thought seconds before Þrúðr proposed a deal: If she brought her friend back, Odin would accept her in Asgard. The gods roared with laughter as soon as she proposed the deal, all but Odin, who accepted the challenge and added one more: IF she achieved such a feat, he would not accept Róta, as he would make the two Valkyries. Þrúðr accepted the deal and left the hall, followed by the laughter of the other gods. Loriði no longer saw reason to spy on her sister, as leaving Helheim was impossible and if Róta had fallen to Niflheim, the chance of returning would be unthinkable.
The way to Helheim was short but tense and full of negative thoughts. Not counting the work to get through Helheim's gates, walk through the endless snowy desert, down through Niflhel's depression and, at worst, fall into Niflheim's hole and search the mist realm for her friend, she'd still have to come back all the way the way and fight Angrboða or even Móðguðr too. Þrúðr was now standing in front of the gate to Helheim's hole. Located inside the largest mountain in Asgard, the gate housed the great fissure in the earth that led directly into the endless green desert. With a big sigh, the girl pushed open the gigantic door with ease and walked inside.
Looking at the carved hall inside the cave, she could see that it had a rustic design, as if it had been done in a hurry or a long time ago. Skeletal statues stood tall on the walls of the hall. The hole was decorated with drawings of skeletons and fallen warriors, under a large statue of the death deity, Helgeisten. Bright eyes pouring dense green smoke, which flowed into the hole. As she looked into the fissure, she couldn't stop feeling a flutter in her stomach before she put one of her feet into the hole, then stopped when she heard Loriði's voice. Her sister just wanted to give her one last hug before Þrúðr falls. It was then that she leveled with her and before Þrúðr could even process what she had just heard, Loriði pushed her into the hole.
The fall shivered down the girl’s spine and seemed to last for hours until she felt an intense cold, followed by a spark of light at the end of the hole. Even so, it took hours for the spark to turn into a bright point like a big star until she left the roof of the kingdom, falling several kilometers until reaching the fluffy snow. After lifting and brushing the snow off her clothes, Þrúðr finds herself in the vast Helheim and heads to one side, walking for miles without encountering anything but broken statues of stone warriors until a dense mist covers her, signaling Helgeisten's presence. The god of the dead welcomed Þrúðr, who asked how she could reach the gates of Gjallarbrú, drawing laughter from him and beckoning her to follow him. The journey seemed to take hours until she found herself at the beginning of the bridge, a gigantic gate preventing her from passing. Helgeisten says that only the dead can pass through the gates of Gjallarbrú, but that he knew of her deal with the Crow Feeder — “a little chipmunk told me” — and, as Odin made his three daughters Mista, Hervör Alvitr and Hlaðguðr Svanhvít Valkyries, any God could enter and leave the world of the dead at will, as long as they didn't bring back any dead, for Angrboða wouldn't let them. Þrúðr knew what she was getting into and even so she bet on herself.
Upon passing through the first gate, instead of turning into a ghost like the others, Þrúðr retained her physical form. Helgeisten explained that since she hadn't died, she wouldn't turn into a ghost. The bridge was as wide as it was long to accommodate the millions of people who died daily, and in the distance, Angrboða towered over all who passed. The giantess, with her immense sword stuck in the ground, just looks at Þrúðr with a certain curiosity, which turns into pure anger soon after, even though she didn't move a muscle for her. As she passes through the second gate, Helgeisten wishes her good luck and, as if he was never there, he disappears, leaving her alone to wander the endless desert. The villages that settled around the second gate of Gjallarbrú were simple but quite different from what Helheim is said to be: the dead lived their afterlife simply and quietly, a few fights here and there but nothing more. Þrúðr started walking, looking for Róta in every village she passed and asking for the girl.
As she walked away from the bridge and main villages, the more distressed she became, could her friend have gone to Niflheim? If so, the chances of bringing her back, having to fight the two strongest giantesses in the realms, were zero. And then she found some of the villagers from the village of Róta, they had made a little settlement for themselves. Question after question, it turned out that Róta had gone to meet her mother, who had gone to Niflheim a long time ago. Þrúðr's face barely resembled the greenish snow of Hel and she ran as never before to Niflhel. As she’d heard from Thor, Odin and Eir, in order to enter Niflhel, one wouldn't have to look for him and to give up wanting it, but with so many thoughts going through her head, it was hard to clear the mind. Finally, after what seemed like millennia, she decided to give up, and when she turned back, she was at the edge of Niflhel, the depression that led to Niflheim, and there was Róta, being carried by the current. With a mighty cry, Þrúðr calls out to Róta, who turns to see her friend. Þrúðr cries out for her to come back and that it would not be worthwhile to spend eternity in Niflheim. Rota wouldn't see the point of staying in Helheim if there would be no one who wanted her there and that in Niflheim, at least she would be with someone who loved her. Þrúðr then screams that she loves her and that she didn't want to lose her, making her stop following the current for a few seconds, then swim against it. realizing that she could not fight such a force, Róta cried out for help and Þrúðr jumped into depression to save her friend. With her supernatural strength, the goddess was able to pull both herself and Róta out of Niflhel and across the desert of Helheim.
At the Gjallarbrú bridge, Þrúðr opened a second gate and found Angrboða and her sword ready to stop anyone who tried to leave the underworld. The battle between the two could be heard throughout the entirety of Hel and ended with Þrúðr's victory. Never before any being had defeated the giantess in a battle that was not against Móðguðr and Þrúðr was the first. With Róta in her arms, she set out to walk back, frightening even Garmr, the gigantic black dog that guarded the first gate from the inside.
No god who was present when Þrúðr brought Róta back, believed when she appeared before them in the hall of the gods. Open-mouthed, Odin had no choice but to turn them into Valkyries, while Loriði and Þrúðr had a sisterly conversation. Þrúðr just wasn't the copy of her father as she didn't have his impatience and violence, so the girl repressed her but wanted to understand why her sister did such an act and, after receiving her explanation, the girl explained that she never wanted to receive any of the items from her father and that her brothers could have them all.
At the end of both Þrúðr and Róta's training, Þrúðr decided that she would not be bound by her father's legacy, and when she received the magic of Thor's weather spirits, she gave the magic to Róta and took for herself a healing spell, in addition to asking Sigrún to forge two hammers like Thor's, but with magical chains attached to their handle. Þrúðr would help the Valkyries as a healer.

Arvis / アルヴィス
Arvis is the young Duke of Velthomer and head of the Weissritter, the royal guard of Belhalla in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. The name Arvis comes from Latvia, being a modern variant of the name Arvīds. Arvīds is in turn adopted from the Scandinavian name Arvid, which comes from the Old Norse Arnviðr, meaning "forest of eagles". It's possible that this reference to an eagle is meant to invoke the use of the bird in heraldry. The eagle has been used in coats of arms for hundreds of years, often symbolizing power and authority. Not only does it make sense with Arvis' rise to power over the Grannvale Empire, but it could cleverly allude to the crest of House Velthomer being the Fire Emblem of Jugdral. Alternatively, given the Norse inspirations of Jugdral, his name could reference the nameless eagle that perches at the top of Yggdrasil in Norse mythology.
In Japanese, Arvis's name is アルヴィス (rōmaji: aruvisu), officially romanized as Alvis. The name Alvis is derived from the Old Norse Alvíss, meaning "all-knowing" (lit. "all-wise"). In Norse mythology, Alvíss was the name of a dwarf who claimed that he was promised Þrúðr (Thrud), daughter of Þórr (Thor), to be his wife. As Þórr was not present when the supposed arrangement was made, he refused to give his daughter's hand without a trial. He challenged Alvíss mind, inquiring an exhaustive list of questions throughout the night. In truth, Þórr had no intention of letting the dwarf take his daughter; he used Alvíss's wisdom against him to distract him from the rising sun. For when a dwarf is exposed to sunlight, they are turned to stone.
The selection of this name for Arvis' character is likely based on the ideas of wit and manipulation presented in this Norse tale. Though Arvis is not "all-wise", he is presented as a very knowledgeable man, keeping up with the goings-on of the world to enact his plan to radically shift the state of Jugdral. However, his own schemes to usher in a world rid of the oppression he witnessed were twisted by his fell benefactor and blackmailer—Manfroy and the Loptr Church. The ideal future he paved the road for was torn apart by the very same people who aided in enacting his plan. It is also possible that the idea of Arvis marrying Deirdre, the abducted wife of another man, is based on Alvíss' attempt to marry Þrúðr without Thor's permission, though that is a more tenuous connection.

Gunnlöð
Guardian of the Mead of Poetry, Jötunn
Appearance: Gunnlöð has dark skin with vitiligo and brown hair in a shorter cut. Her eyes are light blue and often described as too knowing due to her long-term exposure to the magic associated with the mead of poetry. She appears somewhat young and is the second youngest of Odin’s brides.
Relationships: Gunnlöð was disowned by her father, Suttungr, after she slept with Odin, allowing him to acquire the mead. As a result, she is extremely loyal to Odin, as she feels she has no one else to rely on. However, her feelings cannot be described as romantic love. She has one son with him, Bragi, who is married to the goddess Idun both of whom she is quite fond of. She often spends time with Rindr or carries out tasks for Frigg.
Personality: Gunnlöð often struggles with social interactions due to her many years of isolation guarding the mead of poetry. She is very excitable, and her mood can change quickly. However, she is very clever, especially in combat situations. She is extremely loyal to Odin and will follow his orders even to the point of personal detriment due to her feeling as if she owes him a life debt for taking her in after her father disowned her.
She is quite fond of the other members of Odin’s family and regards herself as a protector of the family. She is also extremely protective of those she deems weaker than her and will go to great lengths to protect them, such as pushing Odin into a pit full of lava Jörð made to keep him away from Rindr. Though she did apologize while doing so.
Powers: Gunnlöð is extremely good at handling weapons of all kinds and very fast. She has an excellent mind for tactics and often catches others by surprise. Her memory is perfect, and she is skilled at poetry and singing.
History: Gunnlöð was sent to guard the mead of poetry by her father and spent many years in isolation until Odin arrived. She agreed to let him have three sips in exchange for spending three nights with her. Odin instead drank it all and Gunnlöð was disowned by her father. Odin however took responsibility and brought her back as a wife. Due to her unique upbringing and long period of isolation, Gunnlöð struggles to play the role of lady and more often serves as a guard of the house. Frigg often manipulates her to do tasks for her by claiming it will help Odin or is his will. Gunnlöð is aware she is being used however she sees no harm in helping Frigg and enjoys “being included”. She is also known for her poor safety record when it comes to training, however when Þrúðr wanted to learn to fight alongside her brothers, Gunnlöð immediately volunteered to teach her leaving Thor no choice but to train his daughter lest she train with Gunnlöð.
Trivia: Gunnlöð has more than once accidentally “stolen” books by memorizing the contents at a glance and writing them down later.

Random Fact #6,391
Asgard was a multicultural world.
Its native inhabitants were the Æsir, but Asgard had many immigrant residents too.
Odin, Thor, Þrúðr, Móði, Magni, and Baldr were mixed-race (Æsir-Jötunn).
The gods Njörd, Freyja, and Freyr were Vanir from Vanaheim.
Skaði (Njörd’s wife), Járnsaxa (Magni’s mother), and Loki were Jötnar from Jotunheim.
Dark Elves were super good friends with the Æsir and made and cared for their weapons, so it’s not unreasonable to assume some might have settled in Asgard.
The Dwarves would presumably be coming and going all the time (the only reason they couldn’t permanently settle there being the whole turns-into-stone-if-touched-by-sunlight thing).
