Catching Up

Eyes glistened as she sat there attentive, her cheeks slowly beginning to grow in that type of flush that spelled total infatuation. Staring at the priest before her, excitement bubbled in her chest, spilling into her stomach and producing the fluttering of butterflies. His pleasant face wasn’t typically seen as exceedingly handsome by most, yet his smile and engaging tone gave him a charm and endearment that was hard to resist.

“...Claudia dear, are you paying attention?” Xellos gave her a raised eyebrow, ceasing in his current attempt to update her on the state of affairs in the city.

Claudia’s eyes grew wide for a moment, and then looked down in shame, her blush now reeked with embarrassment. It was rather rude to just sit there staring at someone when they were just trying to have civil conversation with you.

“I...sorry...” she apologized, her fingers instantly heading to the fabric of her pants to twist at the cloth. Dammit, this was supposed to be a pleasant and informative chat and she was ruining it because she was letting herself get distracted by her incessant crushing. She was probably coming off a some sort of airhead or creep. I’m such a dumbass, she berated herself.

“It would do you right to pay attention, its a very delicate situation here right now,” he reminded her.

“No, you’re right... what were you saying?” she asked, meekly peering up at him. Claudia half expected him to give her a disappointed or slightly annoyed gaze, but Xellos still had that same pleasant expression he always did. If he was truly bothered by her inattention, he didn’t show it.

“Right then! So at the current moment...”

Finished this last night, decided to wait till morning to post it! A little self indulgent thing with my favorite character of all time (and 16 year old crush) Xellos. Will probably make a reference for Claudia later and maybe even a roleplay blog! May change her name too, but we'll have to see!
