(this infection AU has me in a choke hold, so i made my own interpretation :3)

Some info: Infection Au: Everfree Poison- -

Twilight:

Status: Immune.

uses her amulet for easier recognition. has cut her hair short to avoid snagging by infected.

twilight has found that cutiemarks emit light. those who have been infected have a sensitivity to this light, so has ordered those who arent infected to cover their cutie marks.

twilight has also found that using her element can help stop the spread of infection in ones body (those who have just BEEN bitten or in the very early stages- stage 1- 3.) -

Fluttershy:

Status: immune (thanks to discord)

has gone blind due to being bitten (this has been named Everfree blindness by twilight)

has heightend hearing and sense of smell.

has tried to cut hair, (but it keeps growing back??) -

Discord:

Status: immune

Twilight has found that Discords horns hold a very special fluid type inside, when mixed with flash bee honey and alicorn magic can cure the everfree blindness-

has cut horns to save fluttershy.

has since let his hair grown out-

takes care of fluttershy.

keeps her safe in the cottage (or in chaos dimension)

keeps a very close eye on her. _

Cadence:

Status: Immune.

cadence was able to find 3 of sombras old control helmets and redirect their power to be able to go into more infected areas to treat those who are in the early stages and save those who are in danger of being infected. (saved two for her husband and flurry heart) has made her necklace into an emergency panic button (enables a full body armour to prevent bites, used as a last resort)

Has crystalized the remaining parts of the crystal empire that have not yet been infected. to prevent further infection to what crystal ponies were left. -

Flurry Heart:

Status: immune

not allowed to leave the castle, if permitted, only to stay by the crystal heart.

hasnt seen her father in a while...

How would you improve Discord's redemption arc and Starlight's backstory?

I don't want to talk about discords redemption arc or Starlight's backstory very thoroughly because they both require significant overhauls and I don't wanna write an essay about either of them. For Discord its a simple case of his actual attitude towards other living beings needing a complete change, not just having a soft spot for Fluttershy. also Celestia said she wanted him to use his powers for good, something he never does and it needs to be rectified. Honestly maybe chaos was never meant to be a force for good, but he sure as hell shouldn't be a hindrance the good guys ignore. Either they actively force him to change for the better or they at the very least give him consequences.

For Starlight it just has too many holes and gaps and strange 'and then this happened' for it to be very well put together. I also think that putting this much importance in cutiemarks in general seems odd, like a destiny engraved in your ass, like smth you cant avoid. There's a reason why so many people are irked that the the CMCs got matching cutiemarks that signify their codependency xP it's just kinda weird. ALSO people keep referring to Starlight as a communist but she was literally and objectively in a cult and it irks me people don't see that-- Like dude her hypocrisy of not abiding by her own rules and even the forcing of adherence to a lifestyle and letting go of your possessions to her... Like that's good cult writing. it is not communism.

Also I'm not a fan of her being strong enough to match an alicorn with no explanation, I don't think she needed to match Twilight in strength to be a threat or even a danger to the damn protags.

I have many thoughts on cozy glow

The mlp season 8 finale fell so flat for me because of just how they treated her at the end, she had so mych potential to be redeemed yet the writers just threw it out of the window. No, I am not saying cozy glow is a saint that should have gone unpunished just because she is a child, however the punishments she received were so excessive it didn't surprise me she only became MORE evil

I find it unfair how villains like starlight and discord were "reformed"(somewhat on discord's part) after committing insane amounts of atrocities like brainwashing the mane 6 into becoming the opposite of each other, teaming up with Lord Tirek even after given a second chance and only apologizing after he lost all his power, PUTTING TOGETHER 3 VILLAINS in order to "push twilight"(???), starting a communism cult and stealing the mane 6 cutiemarks and trying to brainwash them as well, and literally going back in time just to fuck wit twilight lol

To compare starlight and cozy glow together, cozy glow did originally reject twilight's first "attempt" to reform her, and then when she tried running away she was immediately banished to pony hell with Lord Tirek?? However when starlight successfully did run away after rejecting friendship she CAME BACK for more smoke and starting endlessly battling twilight until twilight manipulated her into becoming good, she was still given a second chance after ALL that, mind you not even given a punishment, however cozy glow just gets locked away immediately?? She was barely even given a chance to reform, twilight's only method in doing so is talking to them which really annoyed me, it just seems so lazy

And this isn't even mentioning how they allow DISCORD to be around them, the Lord of chaos himself who could easily destroy the whole world if he wanted to, but just pinky promises he won't? lol instead he's like "yeah okay I won't kill everyone here but I'm still gonna be a pain in the ass to all y'all except for fluttershy for plot reasons"

Some people argue that cozy glows cutiemark can't make her redeemable because she thrives of power and control, but I feel like there's many jobs she could take that would require leadership, like possibly becoming an army leader for Celestia or something along the lines of that, holding power and control doesn't automatically make you a evil and unfixable and I feel like that's a dumb argument

But idk that's just my personal opinion, I really wish cozy glow was more fleshed out and given another chance :p

A deadly plauge hit Equis, something never seen before. Ponies and creatures alike died in waves, leaving all world leaders in shambles of what to do. King Cirrus attempted to use magic, but Their talent was not in medicine, and even as an alicorn, no matter what magic he used nothing worked. He simply didnt have the talent to know. So they found a pony that was.

A filly, one from a small town no one knew of, from a family who didnt notice. A lost child in a sea of chaos wouldn’t raise any alarms. The kid had a medical field cutiemark, specifically a wide ranging kind, nothing specific. They were destined for greatness, Cirrus could feel it. Their mark was even traveling across their flank, and they were only young! giving strong magic, they surely could defeat this sickness, right?

It was a decision made in desperation. Besides, it all worked out in the end! A small sacrifice that only he would know of. Hed lock the small pony away deep in the mountainside of canterlot. No one would know. No one could ever know.

Woaaah pony Shadow!! Fluffy!!

Some rambling under the cut abt his species & cutiemark

So- Shadow is a hybrid, he's half pony, and others, him included when he didn't know- assume he's half kirin. He's not kirin at all, but half Draconequus (what Discord is) as those are like embodiments of chaos so, chaos control haha- just happened to give him a curved horn & chest floof. (So, Black Doom would probably be a draconequus)

Also his cutiemark! It's not technically a true cutiemark, it was given to him when he was created, so he's never earned a cutiemark. His amnesia arc would have him trying to figure out what his cutiemark means, ultimately taking control of his own destiny, ignoring the given mark.

Some stuff I noticed in Muffins that confused tf out of me..

In the chapter 'Derpy's first project', she starts crying and calls for Pinkie Pie and Pinkie somehow hears her despite her telling AppleJack before in the chapter 'Apple bloom gets her cutiemark' that the room is soundproof and there's padding in the walls. So, how did Pinkie heard Derpy? I'm gonna assume that Pinkie probably left the basement door open since the cakes are out and the bakery is shut so that way she is able to hear Derpy just in case she needs help or something, that's my assumption.

In the chapter, Twilight's Fall (correct me if i'm wrong), Pinkie Pie gets depress which concerns her and her sisters which Apple Bloom asks "She wouldn't hurt herself would she?" despite the fact in the side story, Silence is Sliver, Pinkie Pie had shown to had slit her own throat as a manipulation tactic to get Apple Bloom to drain the blood of Sliver as well as kill her. I have to assume that this was a serious oversight by Reitanna and that she MADE that chapter wayy before she written Silence is Sliver but my fucking god- And before you say "Well, maybe uh Apple Bloom FORGOTTEN that Pinkie Pie had tried to kill herself or hurt herself." Firstly, that would be unlikely considering how traumatizing that event would be and trust me, I understand considering I encountered a fair share of traumatizing experiences in the past either when I'm a child or adult. And secondly, in the chapter 'Let's welcome chaos: day 2', Apple Bloom lifts Pinkie's fur up to reveal a large scar on her neck and then explains how she got it, so she CLEARLY remembers it.

Also in the final crusade, can we just talk about how one of the Pie sisters someHOW knew how to make those headband things?? I don't think in the early chapters it mentions that the one of the sisters knew how to work with technology.. :V

But anyways, that's all I wanna talk about EDIT 29/11/24

Currently re-listening to Muffins on this channel and I found another thing in the chapter 'prison break'. How comes the POLICE PONY working at the jail just let Babs talk to the pie sisters?? Like, Babs a child and I know that she mentions is because she wanted closure and such but, I don't think in real life prisons would just allow an unsupervised minor to enter the prison and do visiting hours with the prisoners....

• Since her dad is a draconequus she has (obviously) inherited chaos magic and physical traits. Though she cant change her body at will like her dad, her animal features still serve her well and look cool

• One bat wing (curtesy of Flutterbat) and one normal wing

- normal front hooves with the back left being a zebra leg and the back right being a cat leg

- lion tail instead of a pony tail

- wolf ears that are super fluffy

- dragon tooth sticking out (toof) but otherwise normal mouth

- normal pony mane and everything else

• Cutiemark is symbolic of her chaos magic and her family dynamics - got cutiemark when she first used her chaos magic to help the animals in the sanctuary as a filly

• similar personality to Fluttershy in early seasons; shy and timid but passionate about her hobbies and friends/family

• helps her mom out with the animals and sanctuary

• whatever the notes in the picture say

• has her own tiny pocket dimension (like her dad) where she goes to hide when shes stressed or overwhelmed / panicky

• anxiety over how she isnt a 'normal' pony and thinks others view her differently because of it (queue Fluttershy and Cutiemark Crusader therapy sessions)

Wait, could the Crystal ponys, Kirins and Sombra be infected as well??? As far as I remember those 2 (3 if we count the shadow ponys but those don't have physical bodies) are only from G4

Uuunnmmm if Discord isn't fully infected yet he could try and pull a season 9 and bring bad guys or creatures he knows can't not be infected... tho his chaos powers may mess with that and just make everything worse

Also, do the infected ponys cutiemarks change too?? Or stay the same?? I imagen that it would be weird for an infected to see that their G4 special talent isn't the same as their G1

They could, if they have a former inspiration. If they're only from G4, they're fine in my books! So Sombra is totally safe and ready to go bonkers over his wive flutters (headcanon of mine because I degree it so. Everyone can ignore it haha)

I'd like to ignore Discord's powers as much as possible, as he's the most likely to either switch dimensions with Fluttershy or simply do away with the infection. Though, maybe he can't touch it due to it being a time/dimensional magic caused by Spike.

The cutie mark question is a very good one I haven't thought about because I don't draw the cutie marks. Mhhh. I'd say they either don't change OR become a weird combined Cutie Mark, marking it hard on its bearer with further dysphoria (right word?) about their bodies.

The cutie ██ is not easy to tell apart from ███ illnesses, in it's early stages, only really indentifiable once it's ██████... too much.

Usually, it presents itself with faitgue, ██████, and fever... then it can cause █████ ██████ on unicorns.

But on other races, it's only noticeable once it reaches the next stage, which starts with... a new ███ appearing in your body, sometimes, it's even █████ the █████ cutie mark ██ █ ███.

then █ multiplies, forcing █████ to ceaselessly ██████ their ████ until they drop ████... and then... They... ... ... ... ...

My goals for Izzy in my rewrite:

i really like izzy and i'm not fully of the opinion that she's a pinkie clone, because where pinkie was chaos, izzy was an airhead

which honestly i could keep! but it depends, otherwise for her i want to address:

difficulty making friends (she's quick to accept misty into the group)

difficulty making CLOSE friends who will match her relationship effort

feeling 'out of place' even in her friend group

might make her an 'this is how i cope' optimist

her strength with magic, and letting her learn different types of spells

learning patience, tact, etc etc

either reaffirming her comfort in being a supporter, or strengthening her leadership skills

family maybe?
