When the police knocked on the door labeled 205C, they were met with a jagged and weak figure. The Edward Morrison that roamed the halls of Ogden that September was a ghost of the man everyone knew. A slender, feeble creature that only had one thing in his mind. Greer. The NYPD had already interrogated him but since this was a cross-jurisdiction case, he had been oriented by the Morrisons' attorney that he might need to talk to the New Hampshire police once again. He did not want to waste much time, so he just let them into the compulsively organized lair that was his bedroom, clean and cataloged like a hospital. "You can have the chairs if you wish." He told the officer. His answers had been practically pre-scripted; pre-approved by the family attorney, albeit sincere. So he knew that would not take long. But it would be just as confusing as hurtful as the first time. (...) In retrospect, to honestly answer the policewoman’s question he would have to admit that he might not know Greer at all. But then again, who the hell did?

“When did you last speak to Greer?”

“July 3rd.” His answer doesn’t take a heartbeat. He had texted her again the following day, but there was no reply on her side – something awfully unusual when it came to their chat. They wouldn’t take too long to reply to each other because they were each other’s emergency contact, and it was a sort of unspoken rule between the two that a text ignored for too long should prompt some preoccupation. “About 11 pm.” He unlocked his phone and handed it to the police officer. He knew cops in Manhattan already had that information, but he knew nothing about how jurisdictions worked, so he figured he would just rephrase the answers he had given the NYPD when they interrogated his family. He had nothing to be afraid of, anyway.

“When did you last actually see Greer?”

“The day before. July 2nd. I was driving down to our beach house that day to spend the 4th with a couple of friends. I asked her if she wanted to tag along, and she said no.” He refrained from elaborating because he had already told that story a thousand times, and then replayed it in his head another thousand just to find a loophole, something he could’ve done differently.

“How well did you know Greer?”

Dumbfounded, he says nothing for a second. Sure, this must be a procedural question like all the other ones, but it seems redundant and absurd and it’s almost offensive. “I like to think I know her very well.” He responds on autopilot, though when he stops to think about it, he notices how vague that answer really is. “I mean, we grew up together, we have a lot of the same friends, we are fairly close…” The blandness of his answer reflects his own relationship with Greer. They worked well together, like two birds of the same feather. But their siblinghood was very… complicated to say the least. Yes, they enjoy each other’s company, have their own inside jokes, and even talk about the people they go out with, but there is so much he hides from her. So much he hides from everyone. And he knows Greer is very much like him. There is so much she hides from everyone. Especially from him. So, although he loves and cares for her, and she might even feel the same, he never trusted her. It could even be said that their relationship sometimes borders sort of a transaction. A favor for a favor. A lie for a lie. A secret for a secret. Greer has been a cobweb of favors and lies and secrets since she was born. And to honestly answer the policewoman’s question he would have to admit that he might not know Greer at all. But then again, who the hell did?

“What was your relationship with Greer like?”

Well, that was an easier question. One he had a prompted answer for. “We are close. We hang out with somewhat similar crowds and just generally hang out with each other. We get along.”

“Have you heard or seen anything about where she was this summer?”

“Not at all. As I said, we were supposed to spend the 4th together but she just– disappeared.” He had a hard time talking about it still. No matter how objective and pragmatic he was, talking about your missing sister probably gives everyone, even the most rational person alive, a hard time.    

The officer thanks him as she gets up, trying to sound understanding, almost as if her pity would do him any good. He thanks her in return, again on autopilot – though he cannot wait to be alone again – and closes the door after she walks out. Yet again he finds himself wondering if there was something else he could have said. Something that could have helped her. Or himself. Because, at this point, everyone was a suspect, and he was well aware.

O grupo teatral "Théâtre du Soleil" nasceu em 1964 quando a mente realizadora de Ariane Mnouchkine se juntou com jovens artistas franceses para dar vida ao sonho de viver o teatro em seus dias, como labor, alimento e expressão

Ariane Mnouchkine tinha 25 anos quando propôs a criação do Théâtre du Soleil. Nascida em berço artístico, é filha de mãe atriz inglesa e de um pai produtor cinematográfico judeu russo que se encontraram na França.

Após conhecer o teatro feito em Oxford, na Inglaterra, enquanto cursava literatura inglesa, Ariane Mnouchkine se apaixonou pela arte cênica e quando retornou para Paris para supostamente dar continuidade a seu curso de psicologia, recorreu a amigas e colegas que se interessavam por teatro, em uma época marcada pela presença de movimentos estudantis na Europa, para criar a "Associação Teatral dos Estudantes de Paris", ou ATEP. Foi em 1961 que Ariane, já dedicada ao teatro, dirigiu "Gengis Khan" apenas com artistas amadores, o segundo espetáculo da ATEP, realização que se tornaria o broto para o nascimento do Théâtre du Soleil.

Nos dois anos seguintes, Ariane Mnouchkine realizou uma sonhada viagem para a Ásia, em sua investigação pessoal pelos diversos tipos de teatro e espetacularidades presentes no Oriente místico. Ao retornar, em 1963, Ariane se reuniu com suas parcerias da ATEP, e com a sua bagagem de fruição oriental, criaram enfim o Théâtre du Soleil.

No começo, o Théâtre du Soleil contava com dozes artistas presentes. Segundo Ariane Mnouchkine, eram um grupo de jovens queriam viver uma vida "simples": ser feliz e viver fazendo teatro em conjunto, se alimentavam de um deslumbramento ignorante, tinham consciência de que não sabiam muito sobre a vida e isso impulsionava sua vontade de viver e consideravam isso sua sorte. Não eram inocentes e tinham uma ambição pelo teatro, almejam ser o melhor grupo de teatro da França, quiçá do mundo.

Em 1970 a sorte sorriu para o Théâtre du Soleil, com um dos adventos mais importantes da história do grupo: a recepção da "La Cartoucherrie", uma antiga fábrica de armas e pólvora descontinuada desde o final da década de 1940. A trupe aproveita o espaço ao máximo, desde antes de suas reformas, quando tinha problemas estruturais graves como a ausência de eletricidade e goteiras constantes, até hoje, o lugar se transformou e abriga grupos teatrais, de ensino-aprendizagem e de investigações continuadas dentro das artes cênicas. Em dezembro do mesmo ano, o grupo realizou o espetáculo "1789 A revolução deve parar na perfeição da felicidade" consolidando para o público sua relevância artística e de seu espaço de fazer teatral dentro da cena francesa.

Para Ariane Mnouchkine, o Théâtre du Soleil é um espaço de criação compartilhada, onde o papel da direção se transforma, seu objetivo enquanto diretora é "dar boas ferramentas a bons atores" em uma "busca sincera por instantes fundamentais" pelo verdadeiro teatro. Ariane acredita que um espetáculo teatral nasce da necessidade de exprimir algo, acredita que o teatro carrega uma verdade transformada, entre a vida e a poesia, nos levando a perceber o íntimo que nos toca enquanto pessoas que partilham dessa existência.

A música também é fundamento dentro da poética do Théâtre du Soleil. Em 1978 Ariane Mnouchkine conheceu Jean-Jacques Lemêtre, artista da música, multi-instrumentista e compositor, e desde então Jean-Jacques participa de todas as encenações do grupo criando a música para a cena, a sonoridade do Théâtre du Soleil, compondo com a direção de Ariane Mnouchkine e desenvolvendo uma pesquisa sobre a música para o teatro dentro da poética de criação compartilhada urdida no grupo.

O Théâtre du Soleil mantém a sua poética de criação em grupo até hoje, através de jogos, investigações com o corpo em busca de exprimir em cena aquilo que precisa se comunicar. Ariane Mnouchkine, Jean-Jacques Lemêtre e outras pessoas que integram o grupo compartilham seus conhecimentos ao redor do mundo, através de vivências, oficinas, estágios e outros encontros em que a presença em carne rege os processos de ensino-aprendizagem.

O Théâtre du Soleil segue sendo um exemplo histórico de grupo teatral que conseguiu se sustentar e estabelecer uma longevidade poética e estrutural, inspirando e ensinando novas gerações de artistas sobre a real possiblidade de viver com o exercício de seus dons.

    His wife presses closer to him and Eros smiles before placing a kiss to the dark collective of her hair. These moments weren’t few and far between with them for they are in the practice of stealing as many as they can but each one was sacred. The current chills for a second and Eros stretches his wings to let it breeze over them. The pair of them dips just slightly before going up again a little higher than before. From their vantage point now, they can either watch the sun fully set or follow it down slowly and if the way his beloved stretches is anything to go by, they will take the path down in not but a moment.

     “My sentimental girl,” he says softly and lets the current ease them down again a little so that she can chase the day. Its last rays paint themselves over her back and on his arms that circle her as they hover above their home. “I am made for the night and all its wonders but you make me feel at home even in the light.”

   They sink a little more after a moment and Eros kisses her temple before he muses, “Sunspot, what would you like for dinner tonight? I think I should hurry to cook it soon before Evander decides we have waited too long again and makes us all peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with pickle chips.”

    It’s Evander’s favorite, bless him, but Eros can’t stand pickle chips!

A VOGUE Stars of the Year Party celebra simultaneamente o ano que passou, junto de todas as estrelas que brilharam nele; e o ano que chegou, com as estrelas que poderão brilhar pelos próximos meses. A lista de convidados pode até parecer extensa, mas é bastante exclusiva. Não se engane pois não é qualquer um que recebe o convite para a festa Stars of the Year. Apenas aqueles que se destacaram sob o olhar de Annelise Wintour ou aqueles que ela acredita estarem em ascensão possuem o privilégio de tocar no envelope dourado com o logotipo da revista. A Stars of the Year Party é quase tão intocável quanto o MET Gala. O que as diferencia, talvez, é que todos os anos a VOGUE seleciona um pequeno número de pessoas comuns para serem convidadas* a terem a melhor noite de suas vidas! Novamente, uma grande honra, porque, como deve imaginar… também não é qualquer um que eles escolhem.

*os convites podem ser feitos de diferentes formas. Depende do seu personagem. Pode ter sido porque ele se inscreveu em algum concurso para isso, porque conhece alguém dentro da VOGUE, porque já trabalhou para algum famoso, porque ganhou destaque em um vídeo nas redes sociais…

Todos os anos, um tema é escolhido para a festa, e o dessa vez deixou os estilistas um tanto… intrigados. "O circo sem cores" foi o título que encontraram no convite, com o código de vestimenta sendo estritamente preto e branco. Apesar do tema soar como algo sem vida, a festa não deixaria a desejar.

A mansão da VOGUE em Los Angeles foi decorada como um verdadeiro circo preto e branco. Os únicos detalhes coloridos eram as diferentes flores em vermelho — rosas, tulipas, peônias… Ao entrar no local, o convidado era conduzido através de um grande um saguão, onde acrobatas se penduravam em panos que pendiam do teto e realizavam movimentos desafiadores à gravidade. Era difícil prestar atenção em qualquer outra coisa, mas a festa em si acontecia nos fundos da mansão, em um grande jardim, e o saguão levava o convidado até lá. Antes de entrar, porém, o celular era confiscado. Imagens da festa eram proibidas.

Do lado de fora, estendia-se uma majestosa tenda de circo listrada em preto e branco, com luzinhas decorativas suspensas de seu alto por fios transparentes e que causavam a impressão de estarem flutuando. Como mágica. Debaixo da grande tenda, barraquinhas de comidas davam à festa o seu quê circense perfeito. O habitual buffet da Stars of the Year havia sido substituído pela comida circense e o aroma doce do caramelo derretido misturado com o amanteigado da pipoca era de dar água na boca. As bebidas eram oferecidas por garçons vestidos de mímicos, com maquiagem forte e roupas listradas. Eles não falavam, afinal, eram mímicos, e apenas entregavam aos convidados os seus pedidos: espumantes de alta qualidade, vinhos conservados por décadas, uísques fortes para aquecer o corpo…

Em nenhum momento as atrações do circo paravam. Bastava olhar para o lado para encontrar alguém cuspindo fogo ou fazendo mágica. Entretanto, no centro do jardim, aconteceria em determinada hora da noite um espetáculo do Cirque du Soleil exclusivo para a VOGUE, com coreografia ensaiada e diversas performances de tirar o fôlego.

Era uma festa única e que não pretendia falhar com o entretenimento de seus convidados. Pequenas tendas também se espalhavam entre as barracas de comida e, dentro delas, diferentes programas eram encontrados…

VIDENTE: para quem poderia acreditar nessas coisas, a tenda da vidente oferecia serviços desde leitura de mãos, leitura de tarô, leitura de bola de cristal… Tudo com um preço! Levar alguma comida ou bebida da festa para a pobre mulher contratada para ficar lá a noite toda.

WIN A PRIZE: barraquinhas com diversos jogos como tiro-ao-alvo, pescaria e entre outros prometiam entregar prêmios especiais aos seus vencedores. Ursinhos de pelúcia? Não. Acessórios arquivados de marcas de alta costura! Ou seja, aquela bolsa de algum desfile da Chanel dos anos 90; ou aquele chapéu de John Galliano com a Dior…

TENDAS VIP: quartos foram subestimados nessa festa. Aqueles que desejaram um pouco mais de privacidade com os seus acompanhantes ou ficantes, encontraram-se nas tendas privadas. Dentro delas, contariam com muitas almofadas, frigobar, e tudo necessário para constituir o clima perfeito.

ÁREA DA PISCINA: por sorte, a VOGUE escolheu uma noite não muito fria para o evento. A área da piscina que era um pouco mais isolada da festa principal lotava-se de convidados molhando os pés para descansar um pouco, conversando e bebendo — os garçons iam até lá.

EXPOSIÇÃO DO CHEF: um famoso chef, conhecido por preparar majestosos buffets para eventos das celebridades, apresentaria um pequeno buffet com pratos excêntricos e misteriosos, feitos com ingredientes secretos, pela primeira vez na festa. Será que os convidados tiveram coragem de provar ou preferiram ficar com as barraquinhas de comida de circo mesmo?

Quem estivesse cansado de tudo, poderia simplesmente voltar para a mansão e descansar em uma de suas diversas salas ou quartos, ou na grande biblioteca com todas as edições da VOGUE desde a sua criação — de vários países também. Poderiam acabar acidentalmente encontrando cômodos com roupas, acessórios e cenários usados em editais da revista de décadas e mais décadas atrás. Que perigo para os cleptomaníacos… Será que a VOGUE não pensou nisso?

Arrimada a la pista de hielo, hedda pensaba cuando podría empezar a soltarse aunque no estaba del todo convencida. En Noruega había tomado clases de patín pero habían pasado años sin patinar. El estruendo le hace mirar al frente y toma cartas en el asunto, teniendo cuidado de no caerse también. "¿Estás seguro de que esa fue una caída o estabas practicando para ser parte del Cirque du Soleil?" bromea, observándolo pero no deduce de dónde lo conocía. "¿Te ayudo o solo te dejo aquí, como parte de la decoración de invierno?" suelta la retorica extendiendo su mano para que la tome, sin saber a cierta ciencia si luego serían dos cayéndose en la pista.

I redesigned Hera's husband! Finally! The poor guy doesn't look like Lafayette anymore, but Nicola Tesla (RoR), which I consider a great improvement. But I'm not going to waste my time.

⚗️Azazel comes from a well-off family, the Arkwrights are known for being the ones who make the expeditions to the outside world in order to have refractions, metals, etc. so Az always had some interest in this.

⚗️Azazel is the head of the Litch Soleil Alchemists, they combine Magic and Science. He's something of a well-intentioned mad scientist, but he definitely sometimes goes a bit overboard with the intensity of his experiments (he always wants to have an answer, that works against him).

⚗️He's someone very cheerful, lively and energetic! He has a great curiosity that helps him come up with complex ideas/theories that (in most cases) greatly improve the lives of those around him. although of course, he's a top-notch workaholic. it's something he and Hera have in common.

⚗️speaking of which, Azazel ABSOLUTELY adores Hera, sees her as his muse, his inspiration. he admires her deeply and even before they got married he saw her as something of an idol (for becoming a relatively young leader and still being so composed). They're like Homer and Morticia Addams. deeply in love.

⚗️Aside from alchemy and mechanics, Azazel has a guilty liking for astrology (that's how he connected with Hera in the first place). He also has a strong dislike for big parties (he's an ambivert, it's not that he hates people! He's just not as social as he'd like to be)

⚗️He has a twin brother! They're in different fields but have a good relationship. Despite everything, Azazel has very little contact with his family for personal reasons (especially his father. His mother is fine).

⚗️He's gotten an apprentice! Her name is Aurora. She's a very shy and overprotected girl, but Azazel sees great potential in her handling of alchemy and they're doing a lot of things together (Az likes to joke that she's "the daughter he'll never have" because he's too scattered to have kids)

⚗️Unsurprisingly, when it comes to collecting information or minerals for experiments, he has ZERO sense of self-preservation. It got to the point that Hera now sends him with a squad to make sure he comes back alive.

They're one of my favorite parents! I hope I can do more material about them❤️

⚗️Azazel viene de una familia acomodada, los Arkwright son conocidos por ser quienes hacen las expediciones al mundo exterior para poder tener refracciones, metales, etc. por lo que Az siempre tuvo cierto interés en esto.

⚗️Azazel es la cabeza de los Alquimistas de Litch Soleil, justamente combinan Magia y Ciencia. Es algo así como un científico loco bien intencionado, pero definitivamente a veces se pasa un poco con la intensidad de sus experimentos (siempre quiere tener una respuesta, eso le juega en contra).

⚗️¡es alguien muy alegre, vivaz y enérgico! tiene una gran curiosidad que le ayuda a venir con ideas/teorías complejas que (en la mayoría de los casos) mejoran bastante la vida de los que lo rodean. aunque claro, es un trabajoholico de primera. es algo que el y Hera tienen en común.

⚗️hablando de eso, Azazel ABSOLUTAMENTE adora a Hera, la ve como su musa, su inspiración. la admira profundamente e incluso desde antes de que se casarán la veía algo así como un ídolo(por volverse una líder relativamente joven y aún así ser tan compuesta). Son como Homero y Morticia Addams. profundamente enamorados.

⚗️aparte de la alquimia y mecánica, Azazel tiene cierto gusto culposo por la astrología(así fue como conecto con Hera en primer lugar). también tiene un gran desagrado por las fiestas grandes(es un ambivertido, no es que odie a la gente! solo no es tan social como quisiera)

⚗️tiene un hermano gemelo! están en distintas áreas pero tienen una buena relación. pese a todo. Azazel tiene muy poco contacto con su familia por motivos personales (especialmente su padre. su madre está bien).

⚗️¡ha conseguido una aprendiz! su nombre es Aurora. es una chica muy tímida y sobre protegida, pero Azazel ve un gran potencial en su manejo de la alquimia y están haciendo muchas cosas juntos( Az le gusta bromear con que es "la hija que nunca va a tener" porque es muy disperso para tener hijos)

⚗️para sopresa de nadie, cuando se trata de recolectar información o minerales para experimentos, tiene CERO sentido de auto preservacion. llegó al punto de que Hera ahora lo envía con un escuadrón para asegurarse de que regrese vivo.
