He was harsh with his words and everything he was about to say and would say came from a place of caring, he might not have said it out loud to the other yet but it really was coming from that sort of place and it was just because he was worried.

He stumbled on those last he wanted to say something, but perhaps before going into what North had said to him about well it sounded like one he'd need a clearish head but two that he would need some back up in the very least.

Oh dear, it seemed Edward had gotten himself a little lost. He had the habit of just wandering these days, head lost in thoughts. It seemed so much so that he wasn't even sure where he was, was it where he had been or something.

But something felt off and he couldn't place his finger on it. Right now he's looking around, obviously confused and even looking a little lost. He's just looking for someone that he could ask for help.

She does. Winry shifts, her head meeting his shoulder as she kind of melts against him. In the wake of everything that has happened over the day she needs this. Needs the physical contact. She feels she's cried so much that she'll never have tears for anything -- ever again. Her eyes close as she leans there, reaching down to take his hand in hers. It is flesh and blood, a hand she has rarely held much more familiar with the one of metal and oil.

There is a soft little sigh as she settles, as if she never wants to move from that spot. Wants the pair of them to stay close like this forever.

I love you, she wants to say, but doesn't. Instead she simply says -- "Thank you, Ed." Her voice is soft, hoarse from all the crying, but it doesn't sound sad, rather Winry sounds warm and grateful for the broad shoulders of the boy she had loved since she was a child.

"Oh Edward, I almost didn't notice you! If you were looking for Roy you just missed him, the Colonel's currently out of the office today. Bless his soul, I think he had an office meeting with the higher ups bless him... anyways what can I do for you?"

"Oh, hey Hughes. Thats okay. And is he? Well dang." What a shame, because he was looking forward to seeing the Colonel. Not really. But there was something he wanted to ask him. Guess Edward had no other choice but to ask Hughes if Mustang was busy. "I was going to request to go back home for a little while. As much as I don't want to, especially to face the wrath of Winry. I need to get some tune-up work done on my automail." It had been acting funny the last time he used it. Maybe it was nothing, but still he wanted to be sure.

"I was probably gonna leave tomorrow or the next day. But I am curious, what are you doing here?"

Ed couldn't move right now he was terrified and it wasn't just because his brother was busted and he was scared about that but now Nix stood between them and Envy.

He couldn't even speak, he heard Al shout, scream for her to get out of here and he wanted to do the same, but he couldn't find the words or more could not find the way to let them out, minus the light whimpers of distress.

The ringing in his ears so loud, he couldn't let this happen, god damn it legs let him get up, let him save her. Let him get them out of here. He couldn't lose her not like Nina, not like this.
