Okay but I love the idea that everyone just thinks Nico calls himself the Ghost King as like an emo thing but no, he literally is that. They all find out it’s his actual title little by little in the most unusual situations.

Uh oh, the Hekate cabin summoned the wrong ghosts during a seance and now the spirits are tearing up the place! No worries tho, we have a resident son of Hades, right? Nico walks into the cabin and immediately, the items that were being thrown around like an indoor hurricane all drop to the floor at once. Three little kid ghosts appear in front of Nico with their best smiles as he sighs down on them like “what did I tell you three?” And proceeds to lecture them for the next ten minutes while the Hekate campers watch on struggling to understand what was happening until Nico opens a rift to the underworld and corrals the three through while the kids call “come play with us again, King, or we wouldn’t get bored and come mess with people!” As they disappear into the mists.

Or like Thanatos appears in CHB one day and everyone is freaked cause who died?? Are they all dying?? What’s happening?? But no, he just glides over to Nico and bows respectfully with a “King Nico, a pleasure to see you again. It seems I will need your assistance again with wayward souls I have recently reaped from mortality” and Nico is just sucking a juice box as he nods along to all of this as if it’s another fucking Tuesday. Then he just leaves,, with the God of Death after promising Will to be back by dinner so everyone is like ‘WHAT THE FUCK’ and then there’s like Percy and Annabeth off to the side like ‘imagine having royal duties at 14, couldn’t be me’

Hades Boys! Kiss Headcanons!

Hello! Here are some headcanons about how/where the hades boys like to kiss/be kissed. Now including Dionysus and Ares! Hooray! Thanks for reading, and be mindful of the content warnings. CW: Mentions of PTSD and Panic attacks for Thanatos’, Intoxication for Dionysus (Obv), and mentions of blood with Ares’, oh and angst all around, read with caution!

Thanatos Hand Kisses|Soft

After a long shift of reaping souls Thanatos’ hands can get tired of holding his scythe. He’s not one for showing his emotions outwardly, and because of that they can seep through in more subtle ways. For instance, when Zagreus says something ignorant, or when he has to deal with a mortal whose not ready to go, or even when he runs into an Olympian he often finds himself subconsciously gripping his scythe tighter.

He does not realize until the time when he returns to your arms and he can catch his breath, the strain it puts on his hands. Aching and tired after long hours at work. Which is why he appreciates your kisses so.

You delicately ghost your soft lips across his knuckles in a most soothing way. He thinks your kisses are reminiscent of that of a butterfly’s wings. How fitting.

He would cup your face with a tired smile as you press a kiss into the palm of his hand. “Gentle kisses for Gentle Death!” You would proclaim in an attempt to make him laugh.

“My, I often wonder what it is that I did to deserve someone as kind as you…” Thanatos would say in return.

He does so much for the house the least you can do is try to relieve some of the stress. You may not be able to make less work for him, but you can show your appreciation to him by giving him the love and affection he deserves.

On certain days when Thanatos’ mood is dampened due to memories of terror from Sisyphus dirty tricks, the nights he wakes panic stricken with the phantom sting of shackles against his wrists. Your delicate kisses to his wrists help to soothe the burn. Snapping him out of his own mind into reality where he is safe, and you’re there to comfort him.

Your kisses are not only comforting to him, but you are a genuine anchor to him. He does not know how he was able to exist before you came into his life. And he is forever grateful he has you now.

Zagreus Cheek Kisses|Affectionate

For someone who so rarely sees the sunlight he certainly challenges Helios for being the embodiment of it, and his kisses reflect that.

Bright and happy is he as he presses kisses into your cheek at every chance he gets. When he passes you in the hall you bet he’s taking a detour to give you a peck before he has to continue on. When he greets you after coming back from a successful run a celebratory kiss on the cheek is practically mandatory haha.

He loves it when you celebrate with him, nuzzling your face into the side of his. It’s such a small but caring notion that makes Zagreus feel as if he’s falling in love with you all over again.

When he’s preparing to head out for another run you meet him in the courtyard to wish him luck and see him off. He smiles when he catches your figure out of the corner of his eye dashing up to you for a final embrace before he returns once again. You give him another fond kiss on the cheek there whispering in his ear to give it all he’s got and to kick Theseus’ butt once again. Earning a laugh out of Zagreus and the promise that he will dedicate his next victory against the pompous champions to you.

On nights when he has scuffles with his father, or when he’s missing his mother, and words are too much in the moment. He wants nothing more than to relish in your embrace with your kisses there to provide the comfort his parents could not.

He often doesn’t let his inner turmoil bother anyone else, and did not have anyone to confide in until you came along. There’s a lot of things left unsaid, but you will be there for Zagreus to love and support him until he is ready. Even if that day never comes, you’re glad you can a least help to alleviate his troubles for a short amount a time.

If what he needs from you is not words, but doting kisses. Then kisses he shall receive. And when Zagreus is ready to speak with you, you will listen for as long as he needs. Zagreus is so glad to have found you, and would trade anything to be able to be by your side for the rest of eternity.

Hypnos Forehead kisses|Loving

Whenever you get excited to share some news with your lover and rush to go tell him only to find him fast asleep per usual, it’s hard to not let an adoring smile come across your face as you decide to let him rest and that the news can wait, but you can’t just leave after coming all this way to see him. This often results in you giving him a caring kiss on his forehead followed by whispers for him to have sweet dreams.

Unbeknownst to you sometimes those sneaky kisses of your actually wake the sleep incarnate. He does not mind though, in fact its quite the contrary. He is able to discern your footsteps from others, and sometimes he is actually awoken but hearing you approach. Occasionally, he would pretend to be asleep if not for a bit longer in order to gain one of your tender kisses.

He doesn’t do it out of malice of course, it’s simply the thought that even when he supposedly can’t hear your or react to what you have to say, you are still kind and devoted to him.

Yes, he hears the whispers of Zagreus and his brothers. Even his own mother talks about him with distain, but when you are given the option to say or do whatever you want to him without repercussion you choose to be caring and loving.

Perhaps that is why he is so drawn to you, and why he appreciates your kisses in secret. It’s nice to have someone who genuinely loves him for him. Not someone who talks to him so “no one else has too” Nor gives him constant sarcastic and petty remarks when he’s honestly just trying to help.

Another addition of why he loves your kisses so, is they remind him of a sort of motherly love that he did not get from his own. Why when he was younger she was kind to him, yes, but as he grew and her attention divided he noticed that she began to treat him more as if he were a burden on others. Your kisses bring him back to a time when his mother still saw him as her son. It’s a warm, fluffy feeling Hypnos is always chasing more of.

So for now, he will continue to let you believe that only you can hear your words of love and adoration for him as well as your caring gestures of your love, at least until he can return the favor tenfold.

Dionysus Lip kisses|Sloppy

Where Dionysus goes jolly festivities and merriment follow, as well as you of course. And what are these festivities if not without a little bit of wine. It’d be absolutely preposterous after all to attend a feast without an offering you know.

And we all know how Dionysus is with wine. You see, when you attend a feast with Dionysus by the hands of the mortals, or any feast with Dionysus for that matter, he loves to show you off. Constantly gushing about what an amazing partner you are.

And with that showing off can come with a bit of possessiveness. So when Dionysus gets to be clingy, you remind him just how much you love him with some kisses.

Dionysus loves to kiss you as he swears he can get more drunk off of your lips than the wine. He reminds you constantly of how you taste better than the finest ambrosia.

You don’t mind his kisses yourself. Yes it can be messy, with Dionysus being constantly in a state of intoxication, but you can always taste the remnants of the contents of his everlasting goblet against his lips. Making the sweetness of his kisses worth all of the awkward nose bumps and accidental teeth clashes.

All in all if Dionysus were to have to choose between never drinking wine again and you, he’d choose you every time, as you provide all the happiness he could ever need in his lifetime.

Ares Neck kisses|Passionate

When the fires of war are blazing so are the fires of passion.

Yes, Ares loves nothing more than to watch the bloodshed of a raging battlefield with you by his side. He caresses your waist as he presses fiery kisses into your shoulder, trailing them slowly up to your neck.

The clashing of swords satiating his hunger for blood in the most intense way, leading him to sometimes get a bit too rough with you.

There are times when the battle can get to his head and that can cause him to almost lose himself, if only for a short moment. A bite, too hard for your liking. The sting against your neck intensifying the raging action on the war zone below. You gasp and flinch away, causing him to realize what he’d done.

He’d apologize by kissing you much more softer, but finds it hard to restrain himself when he seeing the droplets of blood seeping through the wound from his bite mark against your neck.

He holds back to the best of his abilities as he cleans the wound with his lips. It causes you slight pain, but this time you feel as if it is more tolerable when he is caring for you rather than going feral.

You know he never intends to hurt you, and if push comes to shove he will always try to fix it and take care of you afterwards. All you can do is be there when he needs you, when the hunger becomes too much for him to handle, and he needs someone to pull him back to reality.

He’d be lost without you, a friend, a lover, and a lifeline. He would fight to the ends of the earth for you, and you would do the same. Truly, all is fair in love and war.

Underworld Children

So like I did with some of the Olympian gods, here's how some of the children of the underworld tend to look/act.

I hc that, since there are less of these children than other demigod children, they have closer relationships with their parents and often spend time in the underworld with them.

Children of Thanatos:

They tend to have grey or black hair though the coloring of the other parent has sometimes come through. usually curly

Their eyes are usually a light yellowish brown with their iris' being bigger than usually given them a wide eyed look.

Many of his children sometimes are born with silver eyes like Thanatos' twin Hypnos and some of his children

They all are born with avian style wings, though the coloring can be anything from black, silver, white, brown, etc. Bc of magic, they are able to hide the wings when necessary but two scar like lines go down the shoulders where they would usually be.

Fangs. These are retractable to a normal size and length and not all of his children get them.

Can be the type to be cheerfully morbid. Think of how happy the Addams Family is when it's raining and grey outside.

Have a very positive or neutral view on death. Since it is literally their father, they never fear it but tend to see it as just another aspect of life. Like having to go to an appointment.

Children of Hypnos

They tend to have darker colored hair that curls or is wavy

Their eyes are usually silver but some have had yellowish eyes like Hypnos' twin Thanatos

Some, but not all, are born with wings. it's a very 50/50 chance that you will be born with them. They tend to be more unusual colors like purples, blues, pinks, etc.

They very rarely get fangs but their eyes do tend to change more drastically than their other cousins (ie, the whites of their eyes being taken over by the color of their iris' when they use their powers.)

They can either sleep anywhere under any condition or they need very specific conditions to even be able to relax. No in-between.

Usually are very chill and have an easygoing personality.

Can get very irritated if they have not sleep their usual amount and it makes them come across as passive aggressive and rude without meaning to.

Love to meditate and will often do it when bored or if they have to wait for time to pass. During this time they may speak with their father or grandmother, or channel energy into their powers.

Children of Charon

Weirdly enough, they usually have very dark red (like ariel red) or brown hair. almost always curly.

They also have more yellow eyes.

They don't usually have wings but many have fangs. they aren't retractable so they usually smile with their mouths closed and sometimes mumble because they try not to open their mouths often when they speak around mortals or other demigods that might look at them weird.

They tend to be very analytical and like to observe and learn

The most likely to keep a grudge but you'll probably never know they have something against unless you they want you to.

They tend to be the closest with their grandmother, Lady Nyx, since Charon is always in the underworld so when they visit him, they always stop by to see her.

Are the type of people to look miserable while at work but they are actually thriving and really enjoy what they are doing (if it is a job they like, if not then they are actually miserable. help them.)

They just have chronic RBF but very sweet smiles when they give a real one.

All:

They are always very close with their cousins. it can sometimes come across as very cliquey when at camp as they find each other and then group up.

This is also probably because they've usually met eachother when they were young in the underworld so they have more history than with other demigods

They call their grandmother, Lady Nyx: Grandmother, Mother Night, Mother Nyx, Lady Night. It depends on the situation and who is around.

usually more well trained then other demigods when they first get to camp bc, since there is very little of them compared to other cabins, they tend to be partially trained on their powers and some weapons by their parents.

Lady Nyx adores her grandchildren so they will receive at least one small blessing from her in their life time. Usually at birth and it can range from the ability to see in the dark or to manipulate small amounts of darkness or create tiny stars in their hands. Usually something small but fun and it helps them connect to her.

sarcastic little shits. All of them. When in the underworld, they are usually very respectful to other deities they meet but will backtalk and sass in a way that is subtle enough that they can't get in trouble for it. Lord Hades, loves and hates whenever he runs into them bc its funny when they do it to others, but when it happens to him he wants to strangle them a little. (alot)

I don't know to much of Nyx's other children but when I do some research I will be back with the others

On my way to make Nico some sort of entity anyway after Nico dies, he is divided into three parts. Cupid has his heart. Thanatos has his soul. And Hades has his memories.

And he forever sleeps away in Nyx’s embrace.

Ω PJO MISCELLANEOUS DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 💀 THANATOS: GOD OF DEATH, PERSONIFICATION OF PEACEFUL DEATH 🦋

A/N: Heeeeeey everyone! Here is {Wave 2.0.} of Miscellaneous Demigod Headcanons. Had the strength to write some more gods and their demigods for the Misc. Demigod Headcanons and I decided to start off with the most requested god and demigod with a bang! (No seriously, I've been getting so many requests to do Thanatos that I caved just so I could free my ask box). Hope you all enjoy it and thanks for reading! Welcome to the impossible births club like the Athena kids. Thanatos is considered a virgin god. I think it’s not because of chastity or abstaining, but because Thanatos is the god and personification of Death itself; so his interaction with mortals always ends in their passing. Not to mention, being a lieutenant to Hades, he’s usually very busy.  How you are born is up to theory but there are a few, limited, possible ways: a.) Just like Psyche and Eros where the former didn’t know Eros looked like, you do have a mortal parent that Thanatos fell in love with, but Thanatos remained invisible mostly when his eyes fell upon your mortal parent, keeping most of his deathly potency away. However, the whisper of death clings to you and your mortal parent. A curse of death for life and love. b.) You did the whole rebirth thing where you died as a baby or child, and Thanatos took pity on you. He fed you ambrosia and his godly essence with you, before you were allowed to bring back to life when appealing to Hades and Persephone, who allowed you to go back to the world of the living; however, you are a servant and denizen of the Underworld. C.) you were conceived when Thanatos fell in love with a mortal and when they crossed into the Underworld, they were finally to be seen together. However, when Thanatos was chained and the Doors of Death were forced to be kept open, your ‘mortal’ parent left the underworld searching for your godly father to free him. However, your parent was delayed in reaching Thanatos because with life now flowing, you were allowed to form and thus, you were born into the world of the living.

Regardless, you are one of your kind and if ever there are other children of Thanatos, well you’re in the same boat or one of the following listed above.

You have also inherited something from your godly father more than just the normal appearances (i.e. his golden-honey eyes, darker than black hair, his teakwood colour skin), you’ve also inherited his dark wings. Now before you get too excited, these wings do not grow along you in life. Your wings grow alongside you with death.

When you were first born into the world and drew your first breaths, you did not come with fledgling wings sprouting from your back. Your fledging wings sprouted from your back when you experienced death for the first time. Your wings started to sprout and show like tiny buds when you ignorantly crushed ants beneath your feet when you were a child and it was like being stabbed with a needle with your wings breaking through. You cry and the pain only gets worse as your wings grow and grow when you witness and are basked directly from (non-violent) death; whether you experienced death first hand or even hearing your classmate’s relative dying from cancer.

The pain and growth increases depending on the life; from the least to the death of bugs & insects to the worst & most growth with human life. Your wings were inherited from your godly father, the personification of Death. It is only natural that your wings will only grow and be a physical reminder of death itself. Whether your wings, feathered or like a butterfly, are a hue of blue, black, or purple can only be told with time and your journey in life alongside death. The weight of your parentage is constant on your shoulders and back.

 Whether or not you know you are a child of Thanatos from the get-go, you are not exempt from being claimed when you reach Camp. It is a quiet claim but a deafening one. A downturned torch where its glow was dim. Smoke and mist rose around you, and the patch of grass that had once blooming flowers began to wilt and turn brown. If you haven’t had your wings yet or your wings aren’t as prominent, with his claim, your wings grow just slightly, the hue of your wing shining beautifully slightly yet eerie looking.

If you arrived at Camp Half Blood, and whether or not you decide to stay at Camp Half Blood, you are temporarily assigned to the Hypnos Cabin; as much as Thanatos was seen together with his brother Hypnos. While traditionally, you would be assigned to the Hermes cabin, unfortunately you slept like the dead; figuratively and literally which freaked a lot of people. Around the children of Hypnos you fit in a lot better and Clovis advocated your stay with the approval and insistence of his father.

Being the child of Death itself, allows you much of the powers of a child of Hades or something very similar. You can use necromancy, summoning skeletons to your aid in battle and whatnot, but you can’t control death; just because you are the child of Death, doesn’t mean you are exempt from the same laws and limitations as a child of Hades or any mortal at all. You may not be able to shadow-travel, but if you don’t, you can turn yourself invisible much like your godly father. It’s a skill that requires practice, just as much shadow-travel, and how long you can keep it up will depend on you.

Another power of being a child of Death, is you can see someone’s life-essence. Think of it as an aura that radiates how much life they have and what they are. Very useful in telling who is a monster in disguise or seeing someone who is possessing someone who shouldn’t be possessing. On the other hand, there is the inevitable sense of mortality when you see their aura and time dim.

You carry the linger of death you go and those who pass you by, will feel the cold shivering breeze around you. Only a few are not fazed by it, but you mustn’t lose your control,

Being a child of Thanatos is a heavy burden but you must live because what is life without death?

“So that’s how I was born” you finished saying, telling to your present company of how you came to be and how you were a child of Thanatos. The eyes on you were nerve-wracking and your wings fluttered and jittered in unison with your emotions. 

You winced and whispered “sorry” when the tip of your wings almost grazed someone, not that used to having your wings out. It also didn’t help when Thanatos claimed you, they also got bigger so there were things to get used to. You didn’t like having your wings out in public, even around other demigods. Your wings were a constant reminder of your heritage and you wanted to keep it a secret, the truth of the wings where they appear when you’re around death, growing alongside with every life taken. 

“That’s a pretty loaded backstory” blurted out Frank finally and Hazel immediately elbowed him as he winced at his words and pain.

You could help let out a nervous laughter as you responded with,“It sort of is, yeah. In all honesty, I didn’t believe it myself until Hypnos told me in my sleep. Even then, I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my mind around it completely. Not to mention, that there were other demigods like me and there’s a camp of all things.”

“Well, don’t worry about that! We’ll help you get settled in and help you if you have any questions!” said Hazel and you gave a sheepish smile. The daughter of Pluto had arrived with Frank when you all made landfall in Camp Halfblood, Nico expressly relieved that his sister was with him. 

You met Nico first who looked at you and was out of his depth. It wasn’t only after you absorbed the death of a monster, did Nico tell you that Hades had told him about your existence and told him to find you, and in accordance take you to Camp. Which camp he didn’t specify but after some debate, it was better to take you to Camp Halfblood because your presence at Camp Jupiter wouldn’t be taken too well.

“Well…I guess the first thing to do is get you settled in” said Nico, rubbing the back of his neck. “We talked it over with Chiron and Mr. D and they said instead of staying at the Hermes cabin, it was best for you to stay at Cabin 13 with me until we get confirmation from Thanatos about what kind of Cabin he wants.” 

‘It was safer for everyone if you stayed at the Hades cabin just in case’ was left unsaid.

“In all honesty, I really thought I wouldn’t be allowed to stay here since well…” you gestured to yourself with a nervous gulp as Nico scoffed. 

“If they allow a son of Hades to stay, they’ll have to allow you. Besides, you’re a demigod like the rest of us so you have a place at Camp just like the rest of us” said Nico. 

“That’s right! If anyone gives you any trouble, don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll be there right with you!” agreed Hazel as Frank nodded. 

You felt your chest warm up a bit as you all approached Cabin 13. Despite it’s dark exterior, you felt a certain pull to it as Nico and Hazel opened the door for you. 

“Once again, Welcome [first name, last name], child of Thanatos, servitor of the Underworld, to Cabin 13, the Hades Cabin.”

I was making some drawings with the story of the Trojan War in the background, when I just got to the part of the sacrifice of Iphigenia (Agamemnon's daughter) so that the ships would march towards Troy.

and it gave me a little idea for this little drabble.

Imagine that the reader is a lover of one of the 3 main members of the house of Hades (Zagreus, Thanatos, Megaera) and one day their family tells them to go to a specific place for a matter of EXTREME importance.

Without knowing it, the reader goes to where they plan to sacrifice them to the gods (you decide the reason).

What the family does not take into account when this happens is that using the Aid of the gods, reader calls their lover to help them (could it be possible? I would be upset if it were).

Can you imagine the reactions of each person when they see that mortals want to sacrifice their partner?

Thanatos is definitely against this sacrifice being made with his partner obviously, and he protects them, but he is the most aware of the situation, that if there is a sacrifice, some god asked for it, and he knows that something that would be worse (especially for his partner) than dealing with mortals, would be dealing with a GOD/GODDESS.

Therefore, Thanatos would try to use diplomacy as much as possible, although he would use force if necessary to defend his partner (if they needs it) and would try to fix the situation without bothering any higher entity.

He is the clumsiest when it comes to comforting his partner, but he doesn't want them to feel bad in the long run, so even after the situation is under control, he takes them somewhere nice to make them feel better.

Zagreus is definitely LIVID with anger when he finds out what is happening, I think he would try at first to say that it makes no sense for them to ask for a sacrifice because the gods usually DON'T LIKE THEM (like what happened with Pelops) but as soon as he sees that that It doesn't work, he goes directly to violence.

Do they want a sacrifice to the gods? Well, let them be it themselves. Besides he gets to show off a little with His partner lol.

although he definitely tries to comfort them emotionally after that kind of betrayal while he can be on the surface (or even offer them some time in the house of Hades, if they want). Good and unusual Badass/angry Zagreus.

Megaera....OF...she jumps right into violence. They don't even have to tell her what's happening, she sees her partner in trouble and distressed and she sees RED. brings out her most violent side.

When it's all over she goes to check on her partner and asks what happened and it only makes her even angrier. Of course it was deadly stupid. But he's glad they're okay. she's not as emotionally good as Zagreus, but at least she comforts her partner because she knows what it's like to feel so disconnected from your "family."

She is definitely going to take the time in Tartarus to torment her partner's family or at least she leaves it to her sisters :)

BONUS:

POLY THAN/ZAG/MEG is a weird mix of all of the above. probably having Thanatos trying to make things "right" Megaera and Zagreus try not to go straight to violence. THEY WOULD TRY.

although as soon as they see that there is not going to be a real negotiation, that they ignore them or, gods forbid, they try to kill their partner EVEN WITH THEM IN FRONT OF THEM Zagreus and Megaera will no longer hold back and will go for BLOOD.

Thanatos, seeing that diplomacy failed, would only dedicate himself to checking on his partner to see if they were hurt or if they are feeling well in general. The man wants ANSWERS of how this happened.

When it's all over, probably the three of them (especially Zagreus and Meg) would be much more vigilant with their partner, it was just a big scare. Besides, lots of hugs and cuddles. I don't make the rules.

Something i’ve never seen from the Hades fandom (albeit i might’ve just missed it) is how Zagreus feels after being effectively shunned by everyone in the house (except Nyx and Achilles). Hell- theres an event where Meg and Than are talking and basically say "get the hell out" and "you should know that youre not wanted". Like???? the way i would shut down and never talk to them again—

I want to see angst- I want to see Zagreus explain his side and them beg for forgiveness after realizing all the shit they put him through. I want to see him shut down on them and they finally realize how much he's been hurting this whole time.

Idk maybe I just relate him too much- but imagine finding out your mother is out somewhere, trying to find her, and all of your friends and family shun you for it because your abusive dad is pissed off at you.

a/n: thanatos is literally the personification of death i'm so hyped for this! also these headcanons are a little bit short because for some reason i was totally blanking on thanatos kids, but i think that i got some pretty good headcanons in there (:

thanatos kids are the definition of badass

they're naturally very intimidating

i mean, their father is literally the personification of death, so there's like... something unsettling about them

spirits kinda follow them around

it's very common for thanatos kids to have been bullied when they were younger, but also the bullying doesn't last long, because they can get a spirit to knock something over near them or something

thanatos kids are very untrusting, because the world has been pretty cruel to them

on the wikipedia page, it says that thanatos is the personification of peaceful death, but i'm not sure how true that is since it's wikipedia, but basically what i was thinking is that like thanatos kids can always tell when someone is going to die of natural causes, just like in their mind, if that makes sense

like a canon event for a thanatos kid is having a grandparent or older family member start acting differently, and the kid immediately knowing that they're gonna die

their mortal parent definitely could never look at them the same after the sick individual died

i kind of headcanon that there are lots of thanatos kids that have weird relationships with their mortal parent because of this reason

like there's lots of trouble with people seeing thanatos kids as "spawns of satan" if that makes sense, and so they're kinda shunned

and yes, thanatos kids are definitely badass, but they also have a sort of general unsettling sort of vibe

exactly like how hades kids can be kind of unsettling at times

same thing with thanatos kids, although it's a lot more subtle because thanatos is a minor god

but there's just something about thanatos kids that put mortals on edge

(it's the gentle reminder that death is always possible at any given moment, and being near a thanatos child, the child of literally the personification of death, makes this reminder a lot more fresh in people's minds whenever they're around)

other demigods generally aren't as affected by this, because just existing as a demigod means you can die anywhere and anyway, so being around that reminder is just sort of more of a friendly reminder like, "hey! i'm a child of thanatos, remember to look out for monsters! (:"

for some reason i feel like thanatos kids would get along really well with hecate kids

they both give off kind of spooky vibes, i feel like they would totally be friends

they would go allllllll out during spooky season, i guarantee it

like halfway through september they start announcing to camp that it's officially spooky season

thanatos kids are very intense

but a quiet kind of intense, where they have like unintentionally intense stares

thanatos kids also have very big feelings

when they get sad, they get sad

when they get happy, they get so elated it looks almost as if they're about to take flight

that's just kind of the pattern with thanatos kids

they definitely had explosive tantrums as a kid

thanatos kids also tend to be sort of closed off, and kinda hangout with each other more than anything

also for some reason i kinda headcanon thanatos as a bit of a slut so i feel like there are a lot of thanatos kids for like no reason

Hades boys! When you’re in an argument!

This is my take on how the hades boys would react if you were to get into an argument

Very minor spoilers for Hypnos’ locked heart event.

Word Count: 1,247 (Approx)

Zagreus

-Zagreus is friendly with all people of the house of hades, so with that comes questions. Lots and lots of questions.

-How could he not? He’s interested in you and wants to show he cares by learning all about you.

-Until the inevitable happens and he asks a question too personal for your taste. Naturally, you get snippy with him.

-He’ll immediately apologize, but it’ll be in vain. You lecture him about diving into other people’s personal business, and send him away.

-Zagreus would feel pretty bad about it after. He meant no harm or malice. He was simply curious, and his own lack of common sense caused him to upset you. He decides to take matters into his own hands once again, and try to make it up to you.

-Over the course of his next few runs, he gathers nectar and hopes to run into you. When he finally does catch up to you again, you have had time to cool off, and before he could apologize to you, you beat him to it.

-“I’m sorry Zagreus,” You start, “I didn’t mean to blow up at you I was just angry in the moment. You didn’t know that would offend me, and instead of yelling at you I should have instead explained that I didn’t want to answer the question, forgive me?”

-“What? No, its really me who should be apologizing to you. You were right about me getting involved in things that aren’t my business. I’m really sorry for offending you, I didn’t mean to. Please accept this apology gift of nectar. I hope I can make it up to you someday.” He says presenting the pristine bottle to you.

-You smile, accepting the gift. You give him a hug and suggest sharing the bottle in the lounge. Zagreus says he’d like that, and (at Zagreus’ insistence) you would discuss your boundaries regarding questions. As well as telling him a bit about yourself you don’t mind sharing.

-Next time Zagreus sees you it’s on much better terms, and you’re happy to answer any questions he might have as long as he sticks to your agreement.

Thanatos

-Thanatos is naturally dark and brooding, but don’t mistake that for anger. As he is actually very sweet when it comes down to it, if not a bit abrupt.

-However, that does not mean he doesn’t get cross with people. Especially when it comes down to his work.

-When you first arrived at the house of hades, you automatically took a liking to him. His visits to the house were far and few in between, but when he did show up, you bet you were taking advantage of the opportunity.

-You even got a job at the administrative chambers to try and get more chances to talk to him.

-Whenever he delivered reports to you, you would try to engage in conversation.

-His answers were always short and direct, but you’d take what you could get. He’d often disappeared right after as well. Leaving you a little disappointed.

-One day, the rare occurrence of him being in the house came around. The prince walking away after chatting with him and giving you a small wave. You just finished collecting a few reports from Hypnos and you have a few moments to spare.

-“Hey Thanatos!” You shout out.

-“Why must you insist on bothering me so when we both have jobs to do?” He replied.

-“What?”

-“I’m very busy every day, yet every time i must interact with you, you postpone my duties with idle chatter. Why?”

-You scoff, “I’m just being friendly, I didn’t realize your such a workaholic you can’t spare a few seconds to answer how you’ve been.”

-“I suggest you worry more about yourself and your work ethic before criticizing mine.”

-With the toll of a gong he was gone, and you were upset.

-As the weeks past by every time, Thanatos would deliver a report to you, you’d give him the cold shoulder. He often look at you expectantly, but you wouldn’t mutter a peep to him. You didn’t want to disturb his oh so important work after all.

-Eventually, Zagreus was the one to get fed up with your silent feud. Bringing the topic up to Than the next time he got the chance. Than relented that maybe he was too harsh in his treatment of you. After all you were just trying to be friendly. Even though it’d hurt his pride, he promised Zagreus he’d talk to you.

-Sure enough, he took the next chance he could to talk to you. He told you he didn’t realize how much he missed your pointless questions. That he simply didn’t want to be held up with his work, as it very important for death to be punctual and he got annoyed with you because of it. You said you understood, but really you just wanted to get to know him better. How you didn’t realize it was holding him up at all. He admitted he overreacted, and made a promise to you the next time you both had a break, to spend time with you.

-You told him you’d hold him to that promise

Hypnos

-It’s no secret Hypnos has his flaws. Yes, he can be lazy, gets easily sidetracked, and often sleeps on the job, but being one of the few people who smile around here, he actually drew you in.

-On the rare occurrences he’d actually be awake, he’d often try to engage in conversation with the shades. Most would ignore his antics, all but you.

-You’d entertain his silly chats, coming to quite enjoy the time you’d spend together. It was a breath of fresh air to have someone cheerful to hang around.

-Then, the time came when you asked him to join you for a break. A time to hangout together and do things important to you.

-He agreed but when the time came for you to meet…he didn’t show up.

-You sought him out feeling a bit hurt he’d abandon your plans like that. After shaking him awake, he spoke excuse after excuse, promising you it wouldn’t happen again and he’d meet you the next time.

-You conceded, it was only one time, it really could have been an honest mistake.

-Until it happened again, and again, and again…

-By this point you were hurt, frustrated, and disappointed. So, you got angry with Hypnos. Saying that the things people said about him were true. How he’s a self absorbed lowlife who never takes anything seriously and only cares about himself.

-After that a few weeks pass by with you not running into Hypnos. Rumors spurred that he was…actually working? Apparently you weren’t the only person to blow up at him that day.

-Hypnos appeared in front of you later, and apologized for missing out on the times you tried to get to know him. He said that his twin Thanatos really made him have a realization into getting his work in check, and the importance of proper priorities. He ended his schpeal by saying he’d start prioritizing you when he got the chance, and invited you to spend some time with him the next time he got a break.

-This time he was true to his word.

God Thanatos x Dating Daughter of Hades.

Dating death itself comes with its perks, for one; he´s hot asf. But also, let’s not forget death does not have a proper gender, so it can be whatever you want. (Ill be using he pronouns for this mainly)

Thanatos is willing to change his appearance to make you happy and to fit your preferences, he’s not directly a God but he is an immortal being and he can tell what type of things you like.

 Every single thing he does it goddamm attractive, – I wouldn’t be surprised if you fainted.

He is not experiences with love completely, but he understands it because, “Death and love are similar in a lot of ways.”

Let’s say you are a daughter of Hades, this would be a plus! Going Underground with him to check things out, “romantic” (more like scary) boat rides across each river (he’s willing to give a tour). He might even let you slip into Paradise and see what it’s like there.

He likes saying things telepathically to you and he enjoys making you jump in surprise when he comes out of nowhere.

Whispering in your ear makes you feel funny and flustered.

If you flirt, he will give you the most dashing smile ever that lights up the darkest room.

He has no shame in saying things as it is and can tell what you are feeling.

Unfortunately, he can also see into your past – you know when life flashes before your eyes, – Thanatos controls that and can see it.

Another downside is that he is super busy. Luckily enough, he can split himself into many copies. So technically he’s there, but also not there.

He knows your dirties secrets and will smile and pretends he doesn’t.

Loves being seen as a mystery.

He does dress up for dates, wearing a nice suit to go with his whatever atmosphere or vibe he wants.

Hades knows about the relationship, not only because Thanatos is one of his workers but also being a daughter of Hades would mean that he would force skeleton soldiers to watch the two of you at all times.

Shadow-travelling can have its perks, you can follow him anywhere. But you feel weak and exhausted after circling the whole entire globe, and Thanatos will tease you and say that “your time isn’t here yet”.

In public, mortals would stare at him a lot, but if it bothers you, he will snap his fingers and turn himself invisible.

Let’s not forget he has wings and is willing to carry you and let you touch the feathers.

His love for you is very passionate and deep. Cupid really did his job here – but you most likely fell for Thanatos on your own, so Cupid didn’t do anything.

He would help his lover understand the way of the world, showing you secrets. He would keep you safe and almost hold your hand – guiding you throw the dark.

He wouldn’t let his lover die, completely. If you wish to be reborn, he will meet you in another life. If you went the fields of punishment, he would make your sins less painful. If you went somewhere safe, he would visit. If you wish for it, he might even be able to find a way to make you immortal.

His demeanor is somewhat distant and almost cold – but being obsessed with work does that. He guides people down to the afterlife.

His love would be eternal, but in Greek Mythology we know most immortal beings never stay true –

Having a crush on the daughter of hades, would make things interesting. Popping up out of nowhere after watching you, giving you red flowers and say something cheesy and outdates. He clearly hasn’t kept up during these centuries. But he is charming.

A sense of understanding and closeness would be a given since both are associated with the Underworld.

Both of you would be aware that life doesn’t last forever, valuing the present is important.

If you’re scared of death, he would comfort you and explain that it is peaceful. He would make sure your death is the most peaceful – since he is the son of Nyx and Hypnos.

Both being powerful forces, would make the underworld shape in fear if either got angry.

Boatrides across rivers and oceans, like that scene in Tangled.

He would associate you with either life or light.
