I'm seeing all of these headlines from critics about how ridiculous FAST X as if they are just learning what the Fast and Furious films are. They are ridiculous. And? So? Your point being? Are you going to write that Looney Toons cartoons are silly?
22 years, 10 films, countless implausible moments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're going to say the franchise is stupid because you have people driving through skyscrapers or parachuting with cars or even surfing on a car but you say nothing about how we're supposed to believe Paul Walker as an LAPD cop when no LAPD cop in the history of the force has ever looked like that?!
This is the real stretch of imagination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FAST X. The X stands for X-TREME SPOILERS
THE GOOD -I like a bit of fan service and the franchise keeps doling out heaping helpings of it. We got Letty back, Han back, Owen Shaw, Deckard Shaw, Elena back (briefly), whoever the hell Lucas Black and Bow Wow played in TOKYO DRIFT, Hobbs back and now the gal - Gisele.
Their babies are no longer babies.
Tumblr media
At this pace I can't even feel bad that John Cena's Jakob died because we didn't see his body. For all we know he could have jumped out the car when it exploded! We see Han's body and he still returned from the dead so...I'm just saying don't count your dead characters before they hatch.
-I loved that they tied this story into Fast Five because that film was my entry into the Fast and Furious films so I remember that one distinctly enough that I could appreciate how they re-did scenes to add the idea that Dante was in their orbit then.
-Following THE SUICIDE SQUAD's lead and relegating Scott Eastwood to bit player. This feels like they were just trying to help him retain his SAG-AFTRA health insurance.
-The twist with Alan Ritchson's character. They intro him giving a wall of exposition about how the "cult with cars" win everyone over and then we see him won over and I think, "Exactly. As it should be." But no! Mans was luring Dom into a false sense of security. Dom was probably too blinded by that tan Ritchson was sporting for some reason.
Tumblr media
-Paul Walker's daughter Meadow having a small role. Wouldn't be la familia without her.
Tumblr media
-Jason Momoa was having so much fun and he certainly made for an entertaining villain. I'm all in for a villain who wears nail polish and space buns. And I liked how they actually used his photos from his BAYWATCH: HAWAII and STARGATE ATLANTIS years instead of photoshopping it.
Tumblr media
THE BAD -Momoa IMO didn't find a good balance between unhinged lunacy and camp. I wish he was able to blend the menacing aspects of the character into his character when he was being more flamboyant. I think an actor who pulled that balance off perfectly was Chris Pine in SMOKIN' ACES.
-I can turn my brain off, I want to be entertained. If I wanted to logic police these films I'd just tweet Neil DeGrasse Tyson and ask his opinion. That said, bad writing is bad writing and this film had some awful writing. The script was written by Justin Lin, Dan Mazeau (Wrath of Titans) and Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War). I like to think Justin Lin knew some parts of the script was absolute dog piss and quit because he didn't want to have to massage a performance out of his actors using those words.
Justin Lin when handing in the final draft to Universal.
Tumblr media
-The CGI was so bad! Regressively so. It was like they were using 2001 technology in some of the big scenes.
THE REST A cliffhanger? Editors exist for a reason. You're telling me I am going to have to sit through another 2 hours watching Letty, Cipher and Gisele on their sub adventure through Antarctica, Deckard saving his mum, Dante acting like he's on RuPaul's Drag Race, Roman with the weak jokes (Tyrese isn't as funny as he thinks he is), then a race to hurriedly find a way to give Brie Larson something substantive to do and because everyone comes back, we will see the return of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) and then shoehorn back in Rita Moreno to close out the film with another speech about family?

Dear Bojack
Dear creator, creators, writers and many more of Bojack Horseman, I am writing you to give you a big thanks for what you have given me, us. I have to admit when I saw the first season of Bojack Horseman I didn’t quite understand it yet, but l realize that I feel the same way of the first seasons of shows I like. It was until season two that I realized what it was about and how familiar it was to me because it was me. Never did I expect to see something so great and real like this show. It being an animated show made much more better for me because I’ve always felt animated movies and shows that are seriously dramatic are able to bring more emotion out of it than being live. There’s an innocence with animation that makes us put the thought of how we wish the world and people, ourselves were so innocence, but the world and we are all full of flaws. Sometimes I don’t see much realism like this in the many movies and shows I watch. If or when I do it is special. I am someone aspiring to be a screenwriter and I know I may never be as great as you guys, but I hope to some day at least come close to it, so I can also let people know they aren’t alone in it. I know what it’s like to sabotage relationships, friendships. I’ve always had issues with anxiety and bipolarism, I know what what it is like to have all these thoughts making you go crazy and having the walls close in, I do have a big regret from the past that I live with until today, I do regret not being there for someone who probably needed me, I regret the way I treated some people, Bojack not feeling satisfied with his award reminded me of how I felt when I earned my high school diploma from a program because I knew I still wasn’t fully satisfied with the diploma and no one ever knew it, when I think of the past I think that I did only think of myself, made every thing about myself and not consider others and “Sometimes I get sad”. You made me feel a connection, but even with all this true Drama you made us laugh so hard too. I feel that we need to laugh because it is the best medicine one can have. There is something about a real laugh that makes it so special just for those moments to hear yourself or seeing yourself laughing is the greatest. You’re so good because you’ve made me cry many times and made laugh off my Couch. You’ve built all these characters that I love because I feel we know or have known one of these characters in our lives. Bojack Horseman became one of my most favorite shows. Every time I finished a season I was bummed because it was over, but it always left me just letting out this breath of satisfaction with a smile and then I just couldn’t wait for the next season to come with another great episode and to hear my favorite song “Back in the 90’s” in the end credits. The cast is phenomenal, delivery their lines so good and making us feel for these characters, Will Arnet, Alison Brie, Paul F. Tompkins, Aaron Paul. The show deserves many awards. I don’t think it’d come out like it did if another voice just replaced one of them. When I heard the series was ending it devastated me because it was something to look forward to every year and now I lost another show, but I feel I have to be thankful for having 6 seasons and a show to me that is solid with no bad seasons. To you Raphael Bob-Waksberg, writers, cast and the many more that worked on this incredible show I hope you guys don’t leave feeling like it was another job, because it wasn’t. You guys did something special for people like me, us. You guys left a big mark with this and should be very proud of yourself. Bojack Horseman is a reflection of ourselves, something we must confront. I always say Bojack is so good because bojack is me, us, there is a bojack in all of us. I love you and Thank You isn’t enough. - Mike

So with my week off I ended up just watching shit and I would like to share my thoughts on it all. Spoilers below the cut.
Ghostbusters (2016) - I thought it was funny, sue me
Season 4 of The Circle - Such a guilty pleasure of mine. Cringey as always. If I had watched the day it aired, and I was a betting person, I would've won money because I picked Sam in the first episode to win and she did it!
A Quiet Place - It wouldn't be such a quiet place if I was there with John Krasinski if you know what I mean. Loved it though, very suspenseful. I can be quiet but I snore when I sleep so I'd be a liability. Plus, if you have to sneeze you have to close your nose and that makes your ears pop and I fucking hate that so I'd rather just die.
A Quiet Place Part II - I think I like it better than the first? More suspenseful, more dangerous. Cillian Murphy looked the best he's every looked in my opinion. That country, blue-collar, bearded look was DOING IT yes sir
Moonfall - Bad movie. Acting and dialogue was very poor. Story and pacing was too weird. They praised Elon Musk at least two different times. I don't think anyone had a single ounce of passion for what they were doing. I enjoyed the peril though. Halle Berry was Halle Berry; love her. Patrick Wilson looked good. The song in the credits SLAPS. Other than that don't watch it adfasdfa
Everything Everywhere All at Once - Late to the party but I finally understand why it's so beloved and winning accolades and shit. A really imaginative, fun movie with so many different genres coming together to tell a grounded and complicated mother/daughter relationship. Loved it. I wish I could forget it so I could watch it for the first time again.
Bird Box - I love Sandra Bullock, okay? Even when she's calling her kids Boy and Girl. Very much in the same vein as A Quiet Place. Lots of similarities (apocalyptic; beings that wipe out humanity; pregnant leading ladies; raising children in such peril; man that sacrifices himself in the end to save his family; traveling the outside world to find safety in community [Part II]), but instead of having to be quiet, you can't look. And if I was there with Trevante Rhodes there would be more than two kids running around yes GOD
Fantastic Fungi - Documentary on, you guessed it, Fungi. Made me want to take shrooms. Brie Larson was there??? (in voice)
Dune - I thought it was good. Right up my alley. Hey Oscar Issac 😘 Why the name Paul, though? Such a boring, present Earth name. And why Timmy Champagne? I mean he didn't do a bad job, but I don't think he exactly stood out either. I've never understood the infatuation people have for him, but to each their own. Rooting for Paul regardless though. Someone gotta get revenge for Oscar Issac. P.S. Duncan Idaho is one of the worst names of any character in all the pieces of media that I have consumed. Do not talk to me about it
All of Abbott Elementary (so far) - I've been wanting to watch this show because I love mockumentary comedies and I've really needed one to fill in for Parks & Rec. It's hilarious. Ava and Mr. Johnson make me HOLLER oh my god. When Jacob first showed up I was like "look at this gay" and then several episodes later it was confirmed and I looked up like I was looking into a camera like "See?" Vindication. Anyways, new show added to my list

Julie and Julia was playing on the main floor of Highland Theater, and I saw it with my best friend Emma when we were both 15. There was nothing more interesting to me than food, particularly the making of it, but I was still relegated to finding catharsis in the way my mother prepared meatloaf with steely and yet relaxed intent, how my dad exactingly and perfectly crafted his chili. I was still a few years out from discovering Anthony Bourdain, I had never eaten seafood outside the briny bites I spat out upon introduction, and I had never heard of Julia Child before. It was a night that changed things for me, that one night with Emma in a theater I had sat in hundreds of times before, watching gorgeosity parade over the screen: sole meunière, chocolate cream, poached eggs, hollandaise, boeuf bourguignon, brie, ducks, gimlets, and butter, butter, butter ("it almost stops your heart just to look at it!").
Walking away from the film it was so easy - so deliciously easy - to fall in love with Julia Child. She gets to savor the tenderest portions, be it the love she shared with her husband Paul, their combined struggles, the slow gathering of a perfect storm that would become a book that changed the way people cooked and even saw their own food. They are the superior portions of the film, the performance of Meryl Streep as Julia Child is the better performance, and over the years I often agreed that Ephron could have made a better film had it just been all about Julia and Paul and the creation of Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
If Julia was fillet mignon, then Julie was gristle.
In truth, it took me a long time to grasp the fact that Julie Powell was a human being who walked among us and not a character invented to be so annoying, so needy, so ungrateful that it would make Streep seem like the Blue Fairy in comparison.
But Julie Powell was real, and her book waited for me in a Free Little Library outside of a house in my neighborhood just a few years later when I was 17. Clearly the occupants of the house had not been impressed with Powell's work, and they were far from the last to share that sentiment, as the book was in pristine condition by the time it found its way to my hands. Early on I could see why perhaps the book had been abandoned, as it really wasn't like Ephron's film at all; where the film was warm, buttery, like a fluff of meringue over a charming confection, the book was pure salt, acid, blood on a cutting board. And Powell was both exactly as I remembered her and somehow different, with her foibles and her complaints just as petty as they were in the film, and yet her wit chomped through the pages, her humor invisible as a pair of hands hard at work, her self-reflection spicy and spare. I adored the book right away, obsessed with the way it not only venerated that cooking was hard work but that food was something worth working for, worth laboring over, worth sharing with the ones you love. It was the reason I made one of my first Grown-Up crushes a spiced almond cake as a token of my affection, as Powell had written of doing the same thing herself, and the thought of seduction and hunger at once appeared to be everything I could want as a person with more experience in one than another.
The book attached to me, and I traveled with it often. It was easy to slip into Powell's stream of consciousness, her offhand stories of hyperfixating on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, her miniature fights with her husband, the bizarre account of a friend conducting an affair with a wealthy man who owned a private jet. One of the warmest, most content moments of my life was in a hot bath in Paris, age 19, with a plastic cup of red wine and Julie and Julia in hand. It had been the cruelest trip of my life thus far: surrounded by food, too poor to really enjoy any of it. The book was a comfort to me in that sense, talking me through the food even if I knew I couldn't have it.
When I learned that she had written another book it seemed obvious to me that I would read it, but I stopped myself (the way I always do) by reading reviews. Reviews are not the ultimate consensus on any property, which I know now, but at the time reading the less than glowing reviews gave me pause, made me consider why I felt such a warmth towards Powell in the first place. Cleaving told the story of Powell's apprenticeship in butchery as well as the effects of affairs on both sides of her marriage, and by all accounts it was a bloody, uncomfortable slog for all involved. I never read it, so shaken was I at the idea that Powell could be given what was effectively the fulfillment of a dream (publishing a book, having that book become a movie, having them both make you what was surely very good money) and still be just as messy as she had been in that tiny, fucked up apartment kitchen. It felt like the betrayal of a mathematical formula: 1 + 1 = 2, and writer + success = happiness. Writers deserve that. I had thought Julie Powell deserved it.
In our cultural memory we've remembered the story of the terrible Julie and the wonderful Julia, the nagging shrew and the devoted if unconventional maven. Powell knew this herself, admittedly forming a parasocial relationship to Child that was not warmly reciprocated at the time of the initial interest in the Julie/Julia Project story, and she seemed to make peace with it in some way. It's ironic that one of the real morals of the story in the book and the film is that the versions of people we create in our heads are never going to be as better or worse as they really are as human beings. The Julia Child that Julie Powell imagined as she cooked her way through her masterpiece was not Julia Child, who was indeed a loving, humorous person, but was also shrewd, tough as nails, and did not suffer fools. And yet there's a version of Julie Powell that lived alongside the real one, much the same way as Julia Child's did. I created - maybe many of us did - a version of Julie Powell that honored only the portions of her we were allowed to see: her vinegary self-deprecation, her bitter disappointments, her fast popping humor, her hot, sweet relishing of success and love and food before the inevitable crash of reality.
That's the way life is. The sweet, and then the bitter. Julie knew that as well as anybody else did, and better because she knew how to cook and to write. These are two precise skills, with the potential to be very, very dangerous.
Julie Powell's death was announced today. She was only 49 years old. She died of a heart attack, most reports are saying, and even that fact has a sick humorous aftertaste. To borrow a term of endearment oft utilized in her work: that bitch probably loved butter. So do I.
On my way home I listened to a podcast where two women discussed the film, and like never before I found myself bristling on behalf of Julie Powell. So what if Julia Child tested those recipes for years to make sure any person of any skill level could make them? Sometimes I can barely follow the instructions on a cup of instant noodles, let alone attempt to make an aspic. So what if Julie was crass, or crude, or only talked about how hard it was to cook? Crass, crude people cook, and sometimes they're great at it and sometimes not, but she didn't give up.
And most importantly: Julie's story did have meaning. The project mattered because it helped her to see that her life had meaning, that she could discover herself through something as complex as cooking and something as simple as blogging. It's hard to believe now, but when she began it wasn't really anyone's first impulse to blog, or post, or tweet about their own hardships, or the things that they were passionate about, or even just the tiny funny stories of life. Julie was one of the people who changed that.
And she took a beating for it. Because the Julie that we got was not the Julie we thought she was. She was funny, imperfect, ambitious, needy, and a great writer.
I thought of her often, even before today. I probably always will.
Thank you, Julie.

Sebastian was to be home any minute, he had been prolifically stressed from his classes regarding his law certification, and you had decided to exhibit him a well deserved distraction that would surely take his wired brain off from the course that was practically running through his veins at this point.
It seemed that at every waking moment, he was doing something to aid his studies, and whilst that was great that he was so dedicated to passing for this insane qualification, he did need to take breaks here and there. He wasn't the only one suffering from his late nights, and his resurrection from slumber at the crack of dawn, no. You were too, you missed him, despite being in the same apartment and room as him for the majority of his spare time.
He acted as though he had no time to spare, but you were well acquainted with his schedule, especially by now. The only difference was, that he had no occupation for a moment to relax with you, or by himself. His showers took five minutes every morning and evening, it was as though he were rushing to clean himself so that he could proceed to go back to putting his nose in a book, or searching specifics online.
But tonight, you were going to cut him off. If he didn't endure a moment of mindlessness, then you were sure to go mad yourself. You were keening for his touch, all you had received in the past few weeks were chaste kisses on both your lips and forehead, as well as verbalised 'I love you's. Perhaps it was selfish, he was striving towards a great achievement in his life, and you wanted a little bit of attention, but you knew he was holding himself from any relief also.
From the minimal time that he spent under the cold stream of the showerhead, he didn't have enough time to rub one out, and there was no fear that you had of him seeing another woman. Sebastian was not like that at all, and you had the clarity of him being in the kitchen half the time, typing away on his laptop, as he ran over some old notes and updated them.
Currently, he was out, he was in his lecture. There was a span of fifteen minutes from the time that he would be on the walk home, and you knew that was exactly how long that took in your shared student apartment, because you too endured your studies. But once more, your own were pushed to the side as you speculated your appearance in the silver tapestry of your mirror.
Your hand steadied on your right hip as you posed in front of it, twisting your waist to find the most attractive angle for you in your new wear. The underwear was tight, and not to mention, completely sheer. It's see through nature made wearing it practically pointless, but considering his current frustrations, it was only fair to give something to rip off of you.
Truthfully, you had to admit, you looked damned good. There was no way he would choose studying law over ravishing your body, a spark jolted through your body as the door behind you opened, and with a seductive bite to your lip, you turned around, only to scream and cover your body with your hands, or at least to the best of your ability. "Holy fuck, don't you know how to knock?!"
"I didn't think I'd have to because your human dildo isn't here!" Anthony defended himself, having turned around, as the image of you, one of his best friends, practically in the nude, burned behind his eye balls. The fact that he had seen you made you feel sick, this was not how you had intended the afternoon to go.
"Is there a reason that you burst into my room looking for me Mackie?" The question was indeed one that you wanted to know the answer to, you still felt so exposed, although he was not looking at you. That was certainly something that you were going to avoid telling Seb, that would definitely be a big distraction from his work.
And of course, alongside that, he would have an intent to possibly murder your flat mate, and whilst Chris would be laughing at that, there would be a heavy hotness to your face, as you watched them immaturely battle. Anthony cleared his throat thoroughly, directing towards the face that he was about to speak.
"Definitely not to see you like that." Retorted the math major, shrugging the shiver off his shiver as the memory tormented him once more. "But... me and Chris were going to meet with Scarlett, Takia and Brie, we were going to see if you and Seabass wanted to join, but as I saw against my own will, you have something already planned for your dinner."
“Um yeah, no, we’ll pass. Thanks tho buddy. Oh god, to say you felt awkward was an understatement. If you were wearing clothes, or at least more socially appropriate ones, you’d go to him and give him a typical punch on the shoulder. Though, if you were clothed more body wear, you wouldn’t be in this predicament. Only things like this happened in college flats, that was one thing that could be confirmed.
“Okay then. Good to know...” Anthony closed the door and proceeded to enter the kitchen. He went grab himself an apple, and realised then that it was an unfortunate consequence, but he had lost his appetite. There had been nothing wrong with your appearance - nothing at all - but you were his flat mate and friend! And, you had a boyfriend, whom was also a great reference of social interaction for him.
The sound of keys interlocking with the outside of the door echoed through the kitchen, someone was outside, and he’d be write in assuming that it was Sebastian. Chris was presently occupied by scouring the internet for ways to surprise the girl he was currently hanging with, and honestly by that, Anthony was scared to enter his room.
It could have been anything that he was searching, but to his contrasting luck, the last resident of their flat entered, creases firm on his brow, from thinking too hard. Sebastian was mulling over the lecture that his professor had given his class. Remember to take a break every now and then. Maybe he was right, a break couldn't postpone him from graduating him that much, could it.
Perhaps he was putting it all off, because after receiving his degree, the four of you would have to find somewhere else to live, and a part of Seb was inclined to ask you individually to move in with him. A one bedroom apartment would be cheaper than one with three rooms, and atop of that, he wouldn't have to be cautious of minor things like walking around the flat in little to no clothing, or fucking you on the kitchen counter.
They were all coupley things that he had wishes to do, but because there were another two men residing with you and him, albeit them being your friends, he didn't allow you to do so in anything less than one of his shirts that cascaded down your thighs, so that if you weren't wearing panties, everything would be concealed. Anthony gulped, remembering he had seen you in your surprise for this man, and gosh, did he want to keep quiet about his accidental peek.
Sebastian wasn’t the jealous type, it was rather refreshing how he found that to be an unappealing trait, however, it would still not settle well that someone saw his girl, in a compromising choice of wear that was supposed to be for his eyes only. He would surely make it clear that you were his, and thus the fucking in the kitchen that he dreamt about would be more than likely to unfold, as he rammed you against the cupboards, caring not if guests were due.
“Hey.” It was a breath of fresh air to speak to someone who was not on his course, it was as though he had become estranged from the people closest to him during this part of the term. Thus a striking pang of guilt landed in his chest as he wondered how you must have felt. He hadn’t touched you in any intimate sense in weeks, it certainly felt like years.
That truth gave him no pride, he dropped his items on the counter, planning on returning to them after he had tended to greeting you. A long kiss sounded nice, strung by a chord of untwined tongues that groomed the insides of your mouth, as you reciprocated. If he was very generous to himself, he’d perhaps lay down for a moment, and allow his pianist hands to wander for more than a moment, stroking them up and down your thighs, until he gave supple attention to your sweet delicacy, dipping down to kiss it and run his fingers over the beautiful gates that only he was allowed to surpass through.
Anthony muffled a reply to him, before shuffling out the room, casting him a weird side eye, but Sebastian thought little of it as his mind was preoccupied with something other than his studies. Oh, and how he didn't mind. The mental image of your nude portrait blessing his eyes was enough motivation to have him striding at a fast, yet considerable pace, towards the door to your shared bedroom.
He knew you must have been inside, he saw your lanyard hanging on the coat rack, that was literally a makeshift piece of wood that you had drunkenly returned with one night, along with a very much intoxicated Paul Rudd. There had been construction nearby, and you thought that it was possible to turned the sharp edged plank with nails sticking out as a bedframe. Least to say, Sebastian did not allow that to happen, knowing that one morning, you would end up spiking your scalp against one of the rusted nails.
People had gotten hurt by it from where it was already, there was that time that Tessa had tried to lean on it for a photo, that in retrospect was an applicant towards your photography course, but that didn't end well, you were pretty sure there was still a streak of her blood stained into one side. That may have been why Chris had turned its weight around after that. However, none of you had the money to spare to invest in a real rack, so for now it stayed.
It sure as hell wasn't coming with you guys when you moved out, that was one thing that Sebastian was going to ensure. If Anthony wanted it, then so be it, if all went to plan, the pair of you wouldn't be living with the lovable goof when the time came. Turning the knob to the room, Sebastian heard a gasp, and thus after he shut it, he saw you wrapped up in your robe, your head cocked to the side as you seductively tried to settle on your small double bed.
"You made me jump Sebba." No, he could tell that you had been taking a short nap, as though you had wanted to forget some details from your day. And that you did, and you hoped that Anthony did as well. "Have you got much work to do bubs?" You raised yourself on your elbows and shuffled towards him as he came to sit on the side of the mattress.
"Think I'm going to take a short hiatus from it for a few hours." Now that certainly sounded pleasant, you hummed at his words, stroking his shoulder, as you pressed a kiss to his hand that moved cup your cheek. "Have I been neglecting my little petal?" It was a name he used whenever he was seeking forgiveness, but this time, you shook your head, frowning, as you settled a small smile on your face.
"You've been understandably busy, I get that. I'm not going to go as far as to use that word babes, you've just had a little time to yourself and your schoolwork, and that is fine." He tapped your chin, cocking his head to the side, inviting you to straddle his lap. You'd have been stupid if you refused after all the time that you had spent mentally apart from him, so without another hint, you clambered over his thighs, a giddy expression corrupting your face.
"This is why I love you. So open minded, and not to mention, that mind of yours has had me doing some thinking." Nodding in a current to prompt him to continue, his hands eased their lodging onto your bare thighs, stroking the skin with large soothing swipes, making any hair on your body stand on edge, as he averted his eyesight to the split of your gown that crisscrossed around your chest. It wasn't a sexual focus however, it was more so as though he feared a rejection of one kind.
"Hope you're not gonna propose us having a kid or something, because now is certainly not the time." At your humour, he sincerely laughed, causing a calm to wash over you and him, as he finally looked you in the face. “Unless you mean buying a plant, our last one died, and now you use the old pot to stub out your blunts." You could see the improvisational container as you turned your head to the side, seeing its white exterior be a gradient of light to shielded grey.
"I want you to move in with me." Sebastian responded straightly, bracing his slightly nervous palms to the divot of your waist, as he grasped the skin below your ribs, swirling the pads of his thumbs across your skin, caressing each nimble pore on that part of your body. His breath captured the side of your neck, as he licked a sweet line across a vein that he specifically picked out using his
"We already live together silly. Unless we're gonna move to mars." As you spoke, your brows optimistically raised, as your forearms found a home around the back of his neck, as you pressed tentative kisses to his clean jaw. A series of giggles evicted from you as you darted your tongue out to taste his sharp skin, your hand slipping down to control his own, trailing his touch beneath your gown so that the tips of his fingers were brushing the mesh of your underwear that was poised in a curve upon your hipbone.
"As much as the space nerd in me would love that, and not to mention you would make one foxy astronaut, I meant, after this, and here, we find a place for just you and me. I get if you don’t-“ you pressed your left forefinger to his lips, humming with a smile as he shared a gentle kiss upon your skin. He took the digit into his mouth, sucking the skin and swirling his tongue around the crescent of your nail.
“That sounds... perfect.” Ushering your finger from out past his lips, and the barrier of his nipping teeth, you languidly stroked his bottom lip, spreading the small extent of saliva that had coated your finger. “I’m so happy you’re taking a break Sebba, you deserve it. There’s something I want to show you baby, I know you’re going to like it.”
“Is it under this robe by any chance?” Obliging his answer with a supporting action, you allowed his hands to remain beneath the sleek material, as you untied the thick strand that tied the two sides together around your body. Pushing the dark silk from your shoulders, you revealed the design of petals that prompted through the thin material of your undergarments, everything exposed through the sultry and intimate pieces.
“Do you like it?” You seemed to have forgotten about Anthony seeing you in the internal wear, and from Sebastian’s honed gazing at your full breasts, your nipples sternly grew hard, telling him without need for word that he was silently turning you on. A sigh escaped from him, as he plucked at the seam of your panties, tugging lightly at the side to drag the material up your slit, grasping a light moan from your intimately affected lungs.
“My lovely petal, like is an understatement. You do all this for me, I don’t think I’m going to know how much this was, especially where we’re supposed to be budgeting.” Seb quirked his unbrushed brow, pressing his lips against the column of your throat, intaking the smell and pungent taste of your floral perfume. “But I’m not going to complain, because seeing you like this is certainly worth a fine penny. Is it ungrateful for me to want it off of you though?”
“Wait.” You instructed him, pressing your tongue into the divot of his chin, swiping a line of saliva through the bone structure. “I think we should get my money’s worth. First, I want to get my fill of your appreciation, and then maybe, maybe then I’ll allow you to discard piece by piece from my skin.” Your dominant hand pressed against his growing bulge as a you slid off his lap, running your nose along his thighs, as you fiddled with the purchase of his jeans, him helping you tug the denim off, and down his thick thighs.
“You’re so good to me.” He leaned back, curling his fists into the sheets, as he watched you enduringly pat him over his boxers, drawing a spot of precum to seep out onto the white cotton. “My beautiful petal, hungry for my cock, you want it, don’t you? Want to suck my hard cock, practically starving for it, ain’t ya?” Profusely nodding, you drooled as he twitched, and pushed down his underwear, revealing his uncut, and growing cock.
“Holy shit.” Escaped you as a breathy conjunction of two words, your palm reaching out to rotate his foreskin in your hand, pushing the layer back gently to reveal his hidden slit. Your tongue darted out over the flushed head, suckling on the sensitive portion, spoiling yourself with the salty taste of his aroused skin. “You have such a pretty cock baby.” Pressing a kiss along the length, you dragged your tongue up his shaft, before returning to the tip, swallowing down his cock in your throat.
“Fuck.” Your boyfriend revelled in the pleasure, one of his hands capturing your hair in its hold, running his fingers through your locks as you bobbed your head. Gargled sounds choked out from your easing throat, as you continued your administrations, making Seb squeeze his eyes shut, as he endured the pleasure that you pledged him with. “Baby...”
You moaned around his cock, your glazed irises peeking up at him, before pulling off, a strand of saliva connecting you to his hung length. “Say it.” Was his demand as his hand pressed the cheeks of your face together, forcing your lips into an exaggerated pout. It was a notion of past experiences that reminded you of what he was speaking of, you blinked your lashes innocently towards him, steadily breathing through your nose as he patiently awaited for you to carry out his order.
“I’m your cockslut.” You mumbled out, spit pooling out of your mouth and rolling down the cleavage of your lips, descending onto your chin, and slipping to be a river down your chest, playing hide and seek in the cups of your sheer bra. “Love your fat cock, and your large balls, and the way your mouth exhibits complete bliss over my pussy.” He tilted your head to the side, as he leaned down, his spare hand reaching behind you to remove your bra, leaving it hanging loosely off from your shoulders.
“How about I eat your cunt, huh? You’d like that, wouldn’t you petal?” A whine slipped from your lips as you shouldered off the floral laced bra, discarding it on the bedroom floor, as you waded your legs about so that you could do the same with the slim lined panties. “Come on then, get up on the bed pretty girl, let me at that pussy.” Doing as he said, you clambered onto the mattress, your front against the sheets as you tried to position yourself. A slap rumbled off your ass cheek, as Sebastian struck down on the globe of fat, straggling a surprised moan from your lips.
It seemed like he wanted you to remain on your stomach, and so you did as he breathed a swab of cool air upon your clenching lips, swiping his tongue from your heavy clit to your soaking entrance. “Sebs, do something, please.” You collapsed your face into the bed, wiggling your ass towards his face, earning yourself another spank to your behind. It stung, but it was a hot heat that granted you a minor bit of relief; it was certainly better than nothing.
And then, his tongue probed at your entrance, test tasting your cunt as his muscle flicked deliriously over your clit, his forefinger prying at your slit, and slipping without struggle inside of your walls, evoking a withering moan to collapse out from your chest. Another digit slunk through your folds, filling your further, as his pace increased, his mouth surrounding your clit, and rolling the bud around with his instigating tongue. “Petal, pass me the lube.”
With a light head, you blindly reached your hand across to on top of his bedside table, locating the bottle with your fiddling hands, tossing it back towards him. A thump indicates that it did not land on the mattress as planned, instead the container of lubricant hit him in the forehead. A frown covered his face as he shook his head, removing his fingers from your folds, as he grasped the bottle, splurging some of the clear and slippery liquid onto his fingertips.
Seb spread it around his fingers, rubbing it onto his skin, as he applied a little onto your tight hole, prying at your puckered entrance with his lubricated digits. “Fuck, fuck, fuck.” You gently rubbed your face against the sheets as Sebastian entered his fingers into your ass, quickly thrusting them in and out of you. “Feels so good Sebby, shit.” He continued his administrations with a clenched wrist, evicting pleasure upon you as you practically sobbed onto your shared bed. “No, no-“
He removed his fingers, as well as his own shirt that was still covering his chest. Seb clambered off the bed for a moment, locating a condom, as he gave his cock a couple of jerks, rolling the avast protection onto his length, as he positioned himself on his knees behind you. He entered you swiftly, returning his fingers back into your tighter hole, as he began to thrust into both of your entrances. Sounds of pleasure were compelled out from your lungs, as you half screamed his name; there were tears collecting in the corners of your eyes as you endured wafts pleasure from both intimate angles.
He curled his fingers within you, picking up his pace as his hips profusely clashed against your own. He was chasing a high, whilst simultaneously reducing you to nothing but a racer to your own. “So fucking tight; in both holes.” His teeth clenched as he moaned at the sensation of your walls clenching harshly around him, as he filled the condom with his white and warm seed. He remained inside of you as he brought one hand down to your cunt, playing with your clit, as he sternly thrusted his fingers into your ass.
It didn’t take long for you to reach your peak, cumming around his softened cock, and mewling into your own wrist. Sebastian extracted his tender cock from within you, also removing his fingers, as he swiped off the condom, tying to open side so that no cum would spill out, and then discarding it in the bin. “Shit, I was wanting some attention from you, but I didn’t know I was going to get that.” You laughed lightly, feeling a little hazy and drunk from your numbing orgasm.
In turn, your boyfriend laughed too, grabbing his shirt from off the ground, and lightly pulling you up, helping you into the baggy material. He pressed a sweet kiss upon your forehead as he rolled to be laid beside you, bringing your sweaty body into his matching side, watching through appeased lids at how you curled yourself into him. “I love you darling.”
“I love you too Seb.” You replied, pressing a kiss to his soft nipple, as his arms locked adoringly around you. “And I’m so proud of you for putting your all into your course.” Your nails stroked down his stomach, as the two of you laid upon the sheets, rather than underneath them.
“Of course I would, it’s for our future in the long term of things.” He stated, brushing any loose strands of hair out from your face. “But I guess it’s okay to take a break sometimes. And that, well that was certainly worth the time away from studying, it always is with you.”

You saying you love when mcu actors also exist in the mcu made me start thinking about Robert and Tony and like hear me out.
Robert and Tony are like the same person we already know this so imagine Tony not wanting to go to meetings and stuff so sometimes he calls up Robert to go fill in for him at meetings. Robert does it and constantly jokes with the media that his greatest role as an actor is standing in for Tony Stark. They’re like so similar that sometimes it’s even hard for those close to Tony to tell the difference between them, well for everyone except Peter.
With Peter’s enhanced senses he always knows when Robert is standing in for Tony because of the differences in their heartbeats and the way they smell. No amount of cologne or acting could fool Peter and at first this frustrates Robert who asks Peter what isn’t convincing about the way he’s portraying Tony. And Peter just explains that he can actually hear the difference in their heartbeats and Tony always has the smell of motor oil clinging to him under all his fancy cologne which Robert lacks and Robert is just like so shocked by how soft Peter’s answer is. He’s spent a lot of time hanging out around the tower to observe Tony so he can properly imitate him so he knew that Peter was a good kid and really close with Tony but this instance cemented in Robert’s heart that Peter Parker is precious and should be protected at all costs. -🌸
stop wait that's literally so sweet (but also real life RDJ and Tom Holland being friends and Robert thinking 'damn this little hero reminds me of someone' pLS-)
no but deadass it's not even the Hot Tub Time Machine reference in Endgame that solidifies the existence of MCU actors in the marvel universe. it's the Manchurian Candidate because of Anthony Mackie since he was in the 2004 production which is so funny to me for no reason, and if Anthony Mackie exists that means the Hurt Locker is a thing with, yknow, Jeremy Renner
Star Wars alone existing confirms Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Bettany, Erin Kellyman, Donald Glover, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o, and Taika Waititi, not to mention ScarJo in relation to Adam Driver thanks to Marriage Story and Hayley Atwell (and presumably Dominic Cooper) since she was married to Ewan McGregor in the live action Winnie the Pooh. and honestly that list probably isn't complete but I'm laughing so hard about it (Tom Hardy and Daniel Craig both play stormtroopers btw so they're not included but it is worth noting for Venom and Chris Evan's sake)
Andy Serkis' existence would actually establish the Hobbit (with Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch) furthermore establishing BBC's Sherlock with the same two, along with other Sherlock Holmes adaptations like the one with RDJ and Jude Law
Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston did that one movie together (Kong: Skull Island I believe), and she did the Unicorn with SLJ. Chris Hemsworth was in Star Trek with Zoey Saldana and MIB with Tessa Thompson
James Spader (the voice of Ultron) was in the Office and did the "I'm the f*cking lizard king" bit that I can recite by heart and it makes me giggle every time I watch aou
earlier I mentioned Dominic Cooper (young Howard Stark) and I think it would be funny if Steve and Bucky watched Mama Mia and were like "What the Fuck is Howard doing????"
I just. superheroes getting confused with their actors is endlessly funny to me dude given time and resources I could probably come up with enough connections to break the marvel universe apart and I'd laugh the whole time it's golden

The Avengers: Endgame
youtube
Tumblr media
Over the last couple months I finally upgraded to somewhat modern TV and gaming rigs in the form of a 55” Samsung 4KTV and Xbox Series X. I own three 4K UHD discs, but one I already covered a couple years back with my entry of the BluRay version that came bundled with the 4K disc of Die Hard. The other is a two pack of the first two John Wick films, and rest assured those will get their day in the sun here eventually. From my research, the Xbox Series X is not a top shelf 4K BluRay player, at least not at the system’s launch before presumable system software updates, but also sounds like a fairly better quality version of the drive that came in the Xbox One X|S, and also supports upscaling of regular BluRays to 4K. Coincidentally, on top of my movie backlog pile was a movie I absolutely wanted to take advantage of that 4K upscaling and thus here we are with today’s write-up for 2019’s The Avengers: Endgame (trailer). WARNING: Unlike nearly most of my other movie recaps I will be diving into serious spoiler territory ahead. The amount of hype leading up to Endgame was insurmountable. Anthony and Joseph Russo did an astounding job directing the first part in 2018’s Infinity War (read my entry for it here). Both that and Endgame top the three hour mark to squeeze in as many characters, references, periphery side plots and so much more from the previous 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe films that lead up to this finale. By accomplishing just that, both movies are the breeziest three hour viewings I have experienced because the Russo brothers do a commendable job at keeping the scenes flowing and doing their best to give everyone their proper time to shine. The ending of Infinity War saw Thanos (Josh Brolin) deliver the snap heard around the world that vanished half of all life in the entire universe. It was a soul-crushing downer of a cliffhanger to end on, but the post-credits tag hinting at the cry of help for Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) left crowds with a glimmer of hope. This being based around comic books there is the unwritten rule where no one truly stays dead either, so part of the experience going into Endgame was to see how the remaining Avengers plan to bring everybody back. Endgame kicks off with the fresh effects of ‘the snap’ when it starts with Hawkeye’s family all getting dusted from him in the middle of a picnic.
Tumblr media
The film transitions to the remaining un-dusted Avengers squad of Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Iron Man (Robert Downer Jr.) floating aimlessly in space until the convenient deus ex machina that is Captain Marvel miraculously tracks them down and hauls them back to Earth. A few weeks Avengers HQ tracks down Thanos on an isolated planet and with Captain Marvel’s power, they anticlimactically kill him off in a brief scene. This was one of the parts of the film that did not sit well with me after building up Thanos as this unrivaled threat in all the previous films, and to have the Avengers cold-bloodedly put him down in quick order seems so……unlike them, but he did off half the universe so I understand how the Russo’s felt justified for filming it that way, but I cannot help that it did not come across right, and could have been handled better. Of course, a more proper Thanos battle would be coming later in the final act thanks to my pet peeve plot device that is…. …TIME TRAVEL!!!! This and alternate dimension traveling I despise and have turned me off to many shows over the years like Lost and CW’s DC shows. The worst of it is indeed present here because meaningful character deaths that happened in Infinity War to Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Gamura (Karen Gillan) become undone and their sacrifices proved for naught. All that griping aside however, I will give the Russo brothers credit because even with those qualms I feel they pull off time travel and have it appear as more than a convenient storytelling method. Again, major props because that is a hell of a hurdle to overcome. The filmmakers go out of their way in a couple scenes to directly call out Back to the Future’s style of time travel bullshit, and have a couple characters ever-so-carefully explain in detail and for the laymen how “real” time travel works.
Tumblr media
This is all thanks to a rambunctious rat who inadvertently zaps Ant Man (Paul Rudd) out of the Quantum Realm…after being trapped there five years due to his team being on the end of a dusting before bringing him back. Ant Man deduces upon his return that he is able to undo the dusting through his van-quantum-realm-contraption, and convinces the Avengers to conjure up a plan they cleverly dub the “Time Heist” to travel back to capture all the Infinity Gems Stones before Thanos does. I loved how these scenes played out, and there is a plethora of fan service throughout it as the three squads of Avengers jump to different periods like the final battle of the original Avengers film, and a 1970 military base where Howard Stark (John Slattery) unknowingly meets his son. Plans do not proceed swimmingly to say the least, and past timeline Thanos becomes clued in to their plan and thwarts the Avengers attempt at trying to undo the past in a CG showpiece for the ages with his assault on Avengers HQ. The CG fireworks continue to dazzle for the bulk of the final hour of the film with a climatic showdown between Thanos and his forces against The Avengers and the returning of the dusted Marvel characters. I have seen too many comic book films fail at translating over-the-top comic book action on the silver screen, but the Russo brothers always manage to pull it off. I fondly remember the theater crowd going gaga when Captain America (Chris Evans) summons Mjolnir and wallops Thanos with it. The women of Marvel have another moment to shine together where they collectively team up to kick ass. Moments of levity are brilliantly peppered in throughout the chaos for a much-needed chuckle from the nonstop adrenaline-boosting action. That final battle masterfully builds up to the dramatic sacrifice of Iron Man in the standout emotional scene of the film.
Tumblr media
The resulting aftermath was heartwarmingly done here with a pre-recorded farewell from Iron Man, and a collage of nearly all the major and minor MCU characters at Iron Man’s funeral. I believe this is the first MCU film without a post-credits tag, and that is 100% fine by me, because the beginning of the credits is a lovingly crafted tribute to the original Avengers cast done in the fashion of the Original Series cast of Star Trek VI that resonated with me feeling the end of a pivotal era of the MCU that I have been largely enjoying since the original 2008 Iron Man. I usually do not dive into this much detail and spoilers when recapping the movies here, but due to this being the final chapter of this era of the MCU films I could not help myself, and believe me there is so much more I wanted to dive in here on because like I said, the Russo brothers crammed in an incredible amount of narrative into three hours. There is so much ground in here it is impossible for me to recap it all, and that it will in all likelihood be the fastest three hour movie you will ever endure. I did not get a chance to even touch on over-the-hill Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the hybrid Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo (spoiler: they both killed it!)). Endgame unsurprisingly did major bank at the box office, so I feel safe knowing most of you reading this already watched it by now which is another reason I went all out on the spoilers.
Tumblr media
I re-watched the film for this entry a second time with commentary from the Russo brothers, and writers Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and that greatly helped explain some little tidbits that were easy to miss and/or not fully comprehend in the midst of the three hours. I know this is a little detail, but I want to give props to Marvel for being one of the few companies out there for shelling out resources to caption the commentary track! I exponentially appreciate it more than you know! The commentary helped with understanding why they did not do a lot for Black Widow’s (Scarlett Johansson) aftermath of her death because she has her prequel film set to release. Other notable takeaways from the commentary was how Stark’s “I am Iron Man” line was a last minute addition to the film, giving credit to Star Trek VI as inspiration for their credits sequence, being hopeful for Marvel capitalizing on Falcon donning Cap’s shield and lots of understandable love for the visual effects team for their hard work. Aside from the commentary track, the BluRay has a second disc with just under an hour of bonus material. There is the requisite short, but top-of-the-line gag reel that is standard in most Marvel Studios home videos. There are five minutes of deleted scenes worth a look, with some of them lightheartedly covering up plot holes. Remembering Stan Lee is a touching tribute to Stan, filled with archived interviews from him on his experiences in the cameos, and showing plenty of delightful off-camera interactions with the cast and crew. There are well done character profile pieces for Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Iron Man, with each one having countless cast and crew state proper kudos to what the actors have done for those characters over the years. If you only have time for one then I recommend Man Out of Time: Creating Captain America, because it goes into a little more detail than the others and Chris Evans has some intriguing introspection from his years with the character. Finally, there are short, but worthwhile pieces on the Russo brothers and the women of the MCU that should not be skipped out on either.
Tumblr media
As I mentioned above, the hype building up to Endgame was insurmountable, but Joseph and Anthony Russo overcame the odds and delivered a gratifying conclusion to this era of the MCU. Watching the BluRay upscaled in 4K on a TV about a third bigger than my previous set made it a grander experience too for those showpiece moments. Sure I had quibbles and nitpicks I mentioned above, but by and large those are easily overcome by how much the Russo brothers got it right with this film. I am kicking myself for waiting a year and a half to re-watch it, but picked up on a lot of little things that went right over mine and Drax’s heads the first time out. If you have yet to give The Avengers: Endgame another viewing, then do not hesitate because you will not regret once again taking in this landmark epic that delivered against all odds! “I can’t believe he’s here,” Paul spoke, adjusting Noah in his arms. “Finally, after all these years, I have a son.” He bent down slightly and pressed a kiss to the drowsy baby’s forehead. Paul’s gaze then went over to Brie, a soft smile on his twin flesh. “You did so great, Brie. I’m so proud of you. Look at him, he’s gorgeous. And he doesn’t have my nose.” Paul laughed gently, sitting down in the chair beside Brie’s bed.

The series received amazing reviews from the critics and the jury.Sadly, the first season of this show fails to draw the attention of the audience. This is one major reason why the series ended.

☕ The extended Avengers. Aka Rhodey, Wanda, Vision, Bucky, NOT PETER (already done), Captain Marvel and Ant Man. I think that's it? The others are outsiders that occasionally come into the fight and will be asked about later. 👀
Bucky you can find here.
So there’s a fun history to this post. The first draft I wrote when I was in a ranty mood, and in a rare moment of wisdom, I held off posting until I was calm and ready to revisit it. So that happened this summer, and the original draft was heavily edited. … and then Tumblr saved *none* of my edits. None of them. Ohhh, I was fuming. So I left it be, and then I had another break in the fall. Now as I play catch-up, I revisit this post once more withhh draft #3.
Rhodey: Not given nearly enough credit by most. First point: Tony wouldn’t be alive for y’all to ship (with literally everyone) without Rhodey being a motherfucking boss and saving him from everything. What I really like about Rhodey is his independence and agency. They make it a huge point in the films to show how independent Rhodey is from Tony Stark while still being his best friend. The best fan fiction with Rhodey is when the writer remembers Rhodey’s agency and keep him his own independent person rather than a Tony yes-man. The wonderful thing about Rhodey is that he supports his best friend when he agrees with him, and he lets his own opinion be known when he doesn’t, and on occasion, he sets Tony back in his place when it’s needed. He has a strong, strong character and strong personality which is why I love him so much.
With Tony’s strong personality, it would have been easy to have Tony walk all over him, but that doesn’t happen. He stands his ground when it matters, and he has his own strong opinions for his own reasons, and best of all, none of his opinions have anything to do with his friendship with Tony Stark. He’s his own man. He’s such an amazing character on his own, so why wouldn’t a writer explore the interesting dynamics between these two and make Rhodey stand on his own? I Don’t Get It.
Wanda: Not fleshed out nearly enough compared to other side Avengers in the MCU, and done outright dirty by a large segment of the MCU fandom (which was the start of my enormous distaste of anti-culture). I do think that she has a lot of potential for an expansion of character in canon, and I really hope we see more of her personality and what makes her her in her TV show. I hope we get some sort of flashbacks from her difficult childhood after she was made an orphan in a civil war, some sort of acknowledgement of her grief and healing from her brother’s death, and Vision’s as well. That is what I am looking for most in her show - more growth as a character and further acknowledgements of the grief and tragedy that shaped the woman she became. She’s never been near my favorite Avenger, but a large reason she hasn’t is because she hasn’t had the chance on the screen to really become a fully fleshed character. And that’s a crime.
Vision: Ah yeah, this was a large part as to why I didn’t post the first draft of this. A small segment of the fanbase upset me with their hypocrisy in mocking Vision’s and Wanda’s love as not real because of his android-ness, while understanding Tony’s care for his robots and his true grief for JARVIS’s loss. The inability to understand Wanda’s grief for Vision’s loss, while claiming to understand Tony’s loss for JARVIS, is simply willful ignorance. I remember I got especially angry about this at the time because some person somewhere was mocking Wanda for loving “a toaster”. The type of folks who make such comments just seem really… ignorant. Unless they’re mocking Tony in the same way for loving JARVIS. If they are, then it’s like– you’re just being more ignorant. I have stronger words, but– not worth the effort.
I don’t remember being so angry at fandom as often when I was active in the Tolkien fandom. Annoyed, but actively angry? Nah, but no one ever treated the characters so poorly and actively made fun of people for liking other characters. It might be part of why I pulled away so fully for the exhausting year 2020 was. (The ‘reset’ time did help.)
Anyway, Vision himself is absolutely fascinating. He definitely had a very interesting birth process, and I adore how the presence of the Mind Stone helps “evolve” him into something alive, which really makes sense: the mind and the evolved ability to reason and “think” is what has really separated humanity from the rest of all living creatures. While we’ve seen evidence of other animals using tools and higher emotion, and some recognizing their own form in a mirror, there’s no species that does it with a complexity and consistency that humanity does (and in the MCU, other creatures that are distinguished between “animals” and “people”). With the mind evolving, he becomes as complex as a human or another alien form. And that’s really amazing. I’ve really, really enjoyed writing him as well and people don’t understand what they’re missing by dismissing him.
Carol: I was wondering when this would come up, but no one’s asked before now. This is my least favorite Avenger. I found her movie really underwhelming and out of all the characters in it, the side characters were 10 times more compelling than her. And I really liked Brie Larson in Community, so it’s not the actress herself. I think it may be just that I don’t think she really connected with me as a person, at least with what we saw with her in her intro movie. She just felt flat, humor, emotions, everything. I also really dislike overpowered characters with no obvious weaknesses. Stephen can run out of magic, for instance, or certain tech can take him out. Carol feels too much like Superman, and I really don’t like Superman either. That’s one reason I have to write her in any fighting role or in any “heroes are in trouble” role because she just seems to be able to get out of every hero-in-trouble situation fairly easily. I’m open for future films to change my mind, but at the moment she has nothing substantial for me as a character, especially with the other Avengers competing for “most interesting” and her powers make her too OP. But I’m rooting for her (and Goose). I could try writing her with Stephen in something involving demons, so that might prove more of a challenge and help me explore her character further. I’m certainly open to metas that dig further into what makes her tick, too.
Scott: Not given nearly enough credit for his own heroics in Endgame, for one thing. Tony wouldn’t have been able to do his Famous Uno Reverse Card without Scott’s optimism and hope. I love his sense of humor, I love that he’s both smart and funny, I LOVE how good of a dad he is, I adore adore adore that he’s on good standing with his ex and her fiance by the end of the first Ant Man, and I love how he so clearly has a clear, individual personality. Kudos to Paul Rudd and the writers/directors of the first two films for helping convey that so clearly. I’d love him to meet Doctor Strange so much, properly. Yeah, he’s not appreciated as much as he should be by fandom.
And this post is finally done.

Let's get personal asks: #2, 18, 21, 34, 79, and the last question is one I've wanted to ask but it's not on the list: What is your opinion on the Marvel Universe? What is your favorite film, least favorite film, favorite and least favorite character, AND favorite and least favorite actor? The last 3 questions all go with Marvel so whos your favorite within that universe, if that makes sense!
2: If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
Already answered this (Stephen King/ JJ Abrams) ... but I’d also love to meet Paul Rudd. He seems like such a nice guy, I think he’d be fun to talk to.
18: Do you believe in karma?
Yes and no. I think that eventually, things catch up to people, but I also sometimes think that they need to be urged on. You can’t count on someone or something else to get a job done.
21: Who is your celebrity crush?
Ben Barnes. Zachary Quinto. Pedro Pascal. Charlize Theron.  Mila Kunis is gorgeous. Charlie Day. Dominic Cooper.
34: Most attractive singer of your opposite gender?
Justin Timberlake. Mike Shinoda. Adam Levine from the “Animals” video.
79: What is the single best decision you have made in your life so far?
Every single spontaneous trip that I have ever taken - for concerts, for travel, for ANYTHING. Having the freedom (before 2020) to just get in the car and go is my favorite thing. But my absolute favorite split second decision was when we went to Disney in 2017... we booked our flights and hotel on a Monday and were on a plane on Wednesday and spent two days in Florida.
My opinion on Marvel:
I have a full Marvel sleeve on my right arm. I am a fan. I like it WAY more than DC, and think that the MCU is in much more capable hands than DC could ever hope for. My favorite movie is either Iron Man or Guardians of the Galaxy, and my least favorite is probably Captain Marvel. I really don’t like Brie Larson as CM - she’s good in other stuff that she’s been in, but that movie just bored me from start to finish. Doctor Strange was *also* really boring, and this is going to shock everyone, but I haven’t been overly impressed with any of the Thor movies, even though I think Hemsworth is the perfect choice.  RDJ is my favorite actor, and Iron Man is my favorite Avenger - always has been. Hugh Jackman and Wolverine were a match made in heaven. That’s the absolute most perfect casting. If they ever recast Wolverine, it’s going to be a sad day, because I can’t think of anyone else I want to see in that role.
Least favorite actors: it’s a toss up between Barnabas Crockpot, Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans.  Least favorite Marvel character is Captain America (even though Civil War is one of my favorite movies).

Life Changes Part 10 || Paul Bissonnette
Tumblr media
Author's Note: So this one was tough for me because Paul’s head is a tough nut to crack so go easy on me. This is from his POV because I felt like we needed some insight as to where he stood in all of this because so far we’ve only see Leigh’s thoughts. Let me know what you think. We’re covering quite a bit of time fairly quickly now. In fact, there’s probably only 1 more chapter before the event everyone has been waiting for happens *hint hint*. Also, I updated the playlist for this story so feel free to go take a listen and let me know what you think and feel free to send me any songs that make you think of Leigh and Paul because I’d love to hear them.

_________
Paul’s POV
“Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change.”
Something had been different with Leigh since the awards but I couldn’t put my finger on what had changed or why. We still talked almost every day but where before she would be an open book, now it seemed like a glass wall was between us. Knowing that she would reach out if she needed me, I came to the conclusion that it was something to do with the pregnancy and tried not to dwell on it.
Hopefully, this trip would make not dwelling a little easier. Thanks to some networking at the Awards and a little help from CCM, we’d finally landed our white whale for the podcast. And not only had we secured Crosby, but we’d also gotten MacKinnon as well. Having arrived in Nova Scotia yesterday, Whit and I were slotted to face off against the local duo in a round of golf, dinner on the line, before sitting down to record the interviews.
It was a gorgeous June day on the course, and I was absolutely buzzing. This was potentially the best game of golf I’ve ever played in my life. But before we had even finished the front half of the course I was already being accused of being a sandbagger...fucking ridiculous. Nate was getting all sorts of worked up while Sid just laughed saying they’d have to wait and see what the back half brought.
Needless to say, the second half didn’t go as well as the first...the damn yips taking over. Though we’d had the lead and secured dinner, for some reason Whit felt like giving the losers a second chance to redeem themselves so it was determined that we were only up 1 hole with two remaining. Whit came up just short for birdie leaving us square to start the 18th hole.
Just as we reached the final tee, my phone rang, Leigh’s picture filling my screen. If it had been anyone else I would have ignored it but there was no way I could ignore her so I grabbed my phone and stepped slightly away as I answered.
“What’s up?” I questioned. “We’re on the 18th hole with Sid and Nate.” Before she even responded I could hear the hitch in her breath and my heart raced with concern for why she would be crying, though lately, it didn’t take much to make her cry...pregnancy hormones.
“I forgot.” She admitted, her watery voice cracking.
“It’s fine. What’s up?” I repeated my question, my stomach twisting as I waited for her answer.
“It’s a girl.” She whispered. Immediately my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest.
“What?” The word slipped out while my brain was rushing to process.
“Dustbunny...she’s a girl.” I had totally forgotten that Leigh had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for today. Without even realizing it, tears had pooled in my eyes and I let out a shaky laugh as I tried to blink them away. Deep down I knew that she was hoping for a girl and so I knew just how much this news meant to her.
“That’s incredible.” I finally managed my throat tight. “Congratulations.” Though the concept of her really having a baby had become more concrete for me in Vegas seeing her bump, now it really did feel real. In just a few months there would be this little human who looked like her mom hanging around and the thought of that was almost too much.
With Whit calling my name from the course, I signaled for him to give me just a minute but it was clear that Leigh heard it and she murmured that I should get back to the game. But before she hung up she made one final statement.
“You can tell the guys if you want. And uh...let them know I’ll make a public announcement in the next couple days but to keep it to themselves until then please.”
“Course.” I murmured, my brain still operating mostly on autopilot as it worked over the news she’d just dropped on me. “I uh...I’ll talk to you and dustbunny later.”
“Yeah.” She agreed. “Now go have fun.” She added just before the line went dead. Frantically I tried to pull myself together, wiping at my eyes and pocketing my phone.
It was my turn up at the tee and as I tried to focus, laughter came at me from all directions. Whether it was the laughter or the thought of Leigh and her daughter racing through my mind, as I swung at the ball I sliced it way left and the laughter took full force.
“Fuck off okay,” I mumbled, moving to sit on a bench, my nails scraping over my scalp.
“What the fuck was that?” Whit demanded. “You take one phone call and make the worst shot of the day?” There was nothing but silence as we made our way down to the green and as we waited for Sid to putt Whit looked over at me. “Everything okay?” He asked, voice calmer. “I’m assuming that was Leigh.”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “Everything’s good.” Whit looked at me skeptically before taking his turn and after sinking his putt for the win he paused.
“Okay, Biz...spill.” He stated, leaning against his club. “You’ve been all hyped up all day and now you’re quiet. What was that call about?”
“She’s having a girl.” I breathed, tossing my club back in the bag before reaching for a bottle of water to try and calm my still racing heart down.
“Who’s having a girl?” Nate inquired, clearly confused by the statement.
“Leigh. Our business manager.” Whit explained. “That’s awesome, I’m sure she’s over the moon.”
“Wait...she’s pregnant?” Sid asked, having obviously paid no mind to her growing bump when they met just a week or so ago.
“Yeah. It’s complicated.” I expressed. “And she is over the moon. She was crying over the phone.” I added, once again scratching my head. It was left unspoken, but not unnoticed by Whit that I had been crying over the news too and we made our way over to a little cafe to record both interviews, my mind gradually refocusing as I focused back in on hockey and the world surrounding it.
~~~
It wasn’t until we were a few drinks into a delicious dinner courtesy of Sid and Nate that Leigh was brought up as conversation again.
It had happened casually, Sid inquiring as to what we had upcoming for the podcast. Whit went into a ramble on the secret project we’d been working on for months, a Pink Whitney vodka, and how we had a launch party for that planned for Labor Day weekend. Then RA brought up how each of us was working to pick up some of the management job duties so that Leigh could have a proper maternity leave when the time arose. That triggered Nate inquiring about the whole baby thing and I quickly had to vaguely explain that Leigh wasn’t with the baby’s father and that we were close friends because she’d been with me in Arizona when she found out.
We’d just downed another round of drinks when Whit threw the first real punch.
“So Biz….when are you going to tell her you’re in love with her?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about...we’re just friends.” I lied, doing everything I could to keep my facial expressions neutral.
“That’s bullshit and everyone else can see it besides the two of you.” He tossed back. “You look at her like she’s the goddamn stanley cup. I haven’t seen you even look at another woman in months. If you aren’t talking about work you’re talking about Leigh and the baby so stop playing. You’re in love with her.”
If it weren’t for the drinks I’d already consumed I probably wouldn’t have admitted to anything. But with the drinks, I felt my palms start to sweat and my filter let a few too many thoughts slip through.
“Of course I love her,” I mumbled. “She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s absolutely stunning, and she has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen. She’s handled everything thrown at her with far more grace than I ever could have and she’s going to be an absolutely incredible mom.” Downing the rest of my last drink I sighed heavily. “But we’re just friends and it’s going to stay that way.”
“So you love her and you obviously love her baby...what’s the fucking problem?” Whit pushed.
“The problem is that she deserves more. Better.” At those words, every head at the table turned to look at me.
“What the fuck does that mean?” RA questioned, his tone brusque.
“It means that she could do so much better than me. I don’t exactly have the best reputation with women or in general. She deserves someone that can match her in intelligence and who won’t fucking stain her name with his own. She deserves someone who isn’t mentally fucked up...who doesn’t experience episodes where he can barely take care of himself let alone her and the baby. She deserves stability.”
After spilling out all of the reasons why friends was all we were ever going to be, I expected some resistance, what I didn’t expect was Whit to bust out laughing at me. Glaring at him I clenched my jaw and he just shook his head.
“You’re a fucking moron Paul. You’re making excuses as to why you aren’t good enough for her and she’s making excuses as to why she’s not good enough for you when in reality you’re perfect for each other.”
“What are you talking about?” I pressed, swirling the ice in my glass aimlessly.
“I’m talking about the fact that she told Brie she didn’t think that you’d ever even have sex with her because she’s not your type. She minimizes anything you feel for her proclaiming that it’s just the baby you’re attached to. She thinks that all you’d ever want to be is Uncle Paul so how could you possibly want to pursue more when a relationship with her would come with the baggage of a baby that’s not yours. She’s just as insecure as you are….but I guarantee you that the way you’re shaking your head about the things she’s worried about would be the same way she’d react to the things you’re worried about.”
It baffled me to think that Leigh thought I wouldn’t want her. At the same time, I couldn’t help but wonder if that expression meant that she actually did want me. For a while, conversation traveled back to less serious topics but before we headed back to the hotel for the night Whit pulled me aside one more time.
“Look I get you have your own concerns and that you’re worried about unnecessarily dumping something else onto her plate but don’t let either of those fears keep you from something that could be great. Now may not be the right time, but I’ve seen the two of you together and you both bring out the best parts of each other...so just be patient and things will work out like they’re supposed to.”
It wasn’t until I was settled into bed that I was able to watch the ultrasound video Leigh had sent me. Between that and dinner’s conversation, the moment that I closed my eyes, too many thoughts, thoughts of Leigh and the baby she was carrying, filled my mind making sleep impossible. Was it really possible that she felt the same way I did? Did I want to play a role more than Uncle in this baby’s life? Was she ready to move on after having her heart crushed not once, not twice, but three times?
~~~
Just like she had said, Leigh dropped her pregnancy announcement as we were leaving Nova Scotia. Swiping through the photos I couldn’t help but be mesmerized at the way her bump had grown in the short time since I’d seen her last. She was very obviously pregnant now and though her photos only barely showed her face it was easy to see how much pregnancy suited her and how she was glowing because of it.
Unsurprisingly the announcement garnered some attention both positive and negative. There were people both in her personal life and around the league that were absolutely thrilled for her. Then there were people that had very much jumped to conclusions as she expected they would and though there really wasn’t anything I could do, I was angry that I couldn’t protect her from their harsh words and suspicions. If I thought she’d let me, I’d chew out every idiot on the internet but deep down I knew that kind of attention would only make things worse. Instead, I focused on distracting her away from that content, asking questions about her plans for a nursery while trying to hide the feelings that were getting harder and harder to suppress.
By the time her birthday arrived in the second week of July, I was determined to do something special for her. Though we were once again on opposite sides of the country I had been planning for her birthday since we left Vegas. In addition to sending flowers, I’d booked her a pregnancy massage session hoping to help alleviate some of the aches and pains she’d been complaining of. It didn’t seem like much to me but when she called after her appointment raving over how much better she felt, it was evident that my gesture was appreciated. Though I didn’t generally make posts for others on their birthdays, I felt compelled to share a few photos of the woman who had brightened my life up just by being a part of it. It was a little sappy but if anyone deserved it, it was her.
Though we talked almost daily and her selfies came more frequently as dustbunny continued growing, I still found myself counting the days until I would see her in person next. And to be frank, it couldn’t come soon enough. I was completely screwed...but to be honest there was a part of me that knew that the moment I first laid eyes on her.

hi brie!!! love to see that you have a sweet golden retriever boyfriend!!! they r the best aren’t they? 🥰🥰. anyway,, what was the moment where you realized that you had Feelings for paul?? what about him for you? :-)
AAAA THANK YOU FOR SUCH A SWEET QUESTION LYS 🥺💕💕 ok so for me realizing my feelings for Paul, its actually different irl from in my self insert!
In real life it was because I've been reading the novelization of The Lost Boys (just very slowly) and it got to Star describing Paul as the goofy one who she's always been able to talk to and that hes always making jokes and that he probably remembers what it was like to be human and I got so warm and giddy thinking "yeah, he is really great isn't he??" And I got kinda confused honestly, cause I normally don't f/o multiple characters from the same media? In my weird brain I can't justify it or I'm afraid of feeling like I'm favoring one or the other but with some encouragement I've accepted it because I think we'd be happy together, yanno? 👉👈
In my self ship, I think it would be one night in the cave where for some reason or another its just me and Paul hanging out or the others are around doing their own thing. Normally David wouldn't tolerate not having me in his sights at all times but he was probably busy with something, maybe seducing someone on the beach into being their next kill ajfjfkg. But me and Paul are doing what we normally do, smoking that ganja and making each other laugh a whole bunch! And he'd turn to me and smile in a way he's never smiled at me before...and when I asked what was going on he'd say something like "I just like looking at you, actually I like everything about you! I wish we did this all the time" and my heart would skip a BIG beat, and I would probably be just as confused then as I was irl haha,,
For Paul, we'd always been really close! We have the same sense of humor and we quip back and forth a lot, and we have the same taste in music! I gave him my Walkman and some old tapes so he could listen wherever and whenever he wanted, which he appreciated a lot. But one day I also gave him a mixtape I made with what I knew were his favorite songs and some thrown in I thought he might like. I handed it to him with a warm smile and when I walked away with David's arm around me he realized that the closeness had turned to fondness and he had a BIG crush. Its almost a sad moment for him, but it ends up having a happy ending still!

Here’s one, the reader finds out that they are pregnant and plans some cool away to tell Malcolm, but the surprise ends of being ruined in some way.
Tumblr media
You look down at the test in your hand. The third test. Three test, three results. All are the same and draw the same conclusion that can no longer be ignored. You consider taking a fourth but your instinct is taking over now, and you know it’s the truth.
You’re pregnant. You and Malcolm are going to have a baby.
God...you want a drink. Wait, no! You can’t drink! Ok. Deep breath now, it’ll be ok. You know it will be. There’s things you need to do. Get an official blood test, see your doctor.
Oh, and you have to tell Malcolm....
Crap.
***
You double check to make sure you had everything prepared, and go touch up the large patterned blanket on the floor. To others, an indoor picnic at home to tell the news may have seemed too simple, but you’d honestly thought through every single idea, and each one had made you think “too much for Malcolm.”
You had absolutely no concept of how he’d react. He could run, have a panic attack, embrace you in joy; honestly the options for reactions were endless. For that reason of unpredictability and for Malcolm’s comfort, the words “private,” and “indoors,” came to mind as a safe option. Besides, it was the middle of winter. Like hell you were doing anything outside in general.
But just because it seemed simple didn’t mean you hadn’t gone full out. You’d bought yourself a proper old-fashioned picnic basket, which could always be put to good use in the future (and not dead of winter). You’d lit candles and strung some soft lights, and had some relaxing music playing. You’d bought a new and beautifully patterned blanket for the affair as well. You’d bought his favorite red wine. Ready to go was a a non-alcoholic sparkling cider for yourself. But the food you had looked to die for too, and you’d run around the city to find the best ingredients, and you couldn’t wait to dive in. You’d grabbed olives and fresh bread, several types of cheeses and house spiced meats. Flavored tree nuts, jams and fresh honeycomb and other fruits from the farmers market. You also had palmiers and macaroons from a local French owned pastry shop for dessert, and had bought their coco mix too.
Everything was perfect. You looked perfect too. You’d put on your favorite dress, done your hair and make up to your liking.
You has everything set up, and you dragged pillows onto the floor for a romantic evening and for telling him the news. You has your sonogram set and ready to give him, in a little box tied with a ribbon as a gift. Your heart raced as you heard the door unlock and he stepped inside. His eyes went wide first, then came the quirked mouth smile. “What’s all this?”
You can’t help but giggle in excitement. “Surprise! Picnic indoors!” You say as he takes his coat and then suit jacket off. He loosens his tie just a little, but keeps it on to match the occasion. He plays along and come right over, and you hand him the prepared glass of red wine, which has had the time to breathe and the flavor is at its peak. Malcolm closes his eyes savoring the flavor and the smell of the candles at the end of a long day, and he doesn’t know what he’s done to deserve you.
“Thank you, (y/n), this is honestly perfect...” He goes in for some grapes, and scrapes some Brie onto the cut bread. A little bit of fig ham with it was perfect. He leaned his head back at the pleasure of taste in his mouth. “You went all over the place for this stuff, didn’t you?” He said with that handsome smile, those blue eyes light and joyous and relaxed. The look was rare and you pray it lasts into the night.
You take a deep breath as your mouth settles into a smile. Now or never. “I...have something that might make it even more perfect.” You reach behind you and hand him the box that feels as light as hair but carries the future inside it.
“(Y/n), you didn’t have to get me anything,” but he has an excited mischievous grin and he starts to untie the ribbon, as the door opened, and Gil Arroyo just walked in. And Malcolm sets the present down, the bow falling to the side.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but something’s happened. We have DNA on the bracelet that Paul gave you.” Malcolm shot up, nearly knocking everything over. You let out the lightest of sighs; you know what this means. Work is calling, more than that, the past is calling. And if the junkyard killer has finally made a mistake and left behind DNA samples, it could mean getting closer to answers....in secret, without alerting the FBI of course.
Malcolm’s mouth has dropped, his eyebrows shot up and his mouth open in shock and at the possibility of answered questions and filling in the blanks. He looks down at you, and reached for the gift but you snatch it away.
“I have to go...” his voice trails. You smile and nod.
“I know. Lives are at stake. And so are answers you desperately need...it’s ok...” you reassure him at the sad puppy dog face of guilt he’s giving you. “Malcolm it’s ok. I’ll give you your present later...and there will be other date nights.”
He smiles and sighs in the reassurance of your understanding. You genuinely know how much he needs this. Terrible timing...but you has forever. He could have this. Maybe answers were what was needed for him to move on and have a family. Perhaps it was a gift from the universe you think; because otherwise you’ll cry as you clutch the sonogram in the box in your hands. He kisses you softly, and speaks as he leaves.
“We’ll do it all again, this was amazing...and you’re right...many more date nights....I’ll be safe, I promise,” he says in advance. You always tell him to be safe.
And you sigh as the door closes.
You blow out the candles.
You pack up the food on plants and cover them in foil and put them in the fridge. You wrap your the bread so it doesn’t go stale.
You leave the soft hanging lights on, the gentle glow of them staying awake to welcome him home. And you pray it’s truly the start of a new beginning.

He’s rushing home, his mind his filled with more answers and yet even more questions, and he knows inevitably he’ll return to see Martin, and he has to tell her everything. He needs to unload the information and the yearning for more in his system before he feels like every atom in him will explode.
But when he pushes the door open at 3am, he finds the meal cleaned up, and the twinkle lights still there to greet him. He finds her accidentally asleep across the pillows on the picnic blanket on the floor.
And his gift is right in front of her. And he can’t help himself. It’ll be the only question wracking his brain that he’ll be able to answer tonight. He slowly unties the ribbon, the fabric scraping softly. He takes off the lid of the almost weightless box and he’s met with a black, white and gray photograph, with an unmistakably outline in it.
He gasps and drops the box and the sonogram. He instantly feels like he’s burning up. His breath hitches and increases as his heartbeat echoes in his ears and chest. With trembling fingers he picks the sonogram up and looks at it intently, in shock and some kind of utter amazement, and of course extreme panic. He touched it, tracing his shaking fingertips over the outline of....of their child.
Then he looks down at her, strewn across the pillows on the floor, in the soft light of the room. And that’s when the tears come to his eyes that he blinks away.
He carefully, oh so carefully, lifted her up into his arms and carried her up the two steps to the bed, laying her down as softly as he could, but she still shifted awake with a soft sound.
“Hey...did you get the answers you needed?” She asked, her voice quiet from sleep. Malcolm smiled softly. All the other feelings; the pain, the memories and questions and the yearning need for more information had vanished when heMd opened that box. Malcolm nodded, tucked a piece of her hair back behind her ear, and bent to kiss her ever so softly.
“Rest (Y/n), sleep well and we will talk tomorrow ok?” She nodded, having no idea he still had the sonogram in his hand. He kissed her one last time before crawling under the sheets beside her, and holding her tight and close, and he promised himself he wouldn’t let her go ever again.
“Yes...” Malcolm followed up as she drifted off. “I got every answer I ever needed....”

“The last book I read was The Magus by John Fowles. I finished it in two days. If you like a story with an untrustworthy narrator, you’ll love this book. The last book that made me cry was The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. There’s a love lost in it, and when I hit that point I was just completely devastated. But it ends up becoming this incredible, great spiritual growth and makes you realize that pain is necessary. The book that makes me want to travel is Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. It’s a series of folklore tales from all over the world and it makes me want to go to South America, Greece, and Japan and see the roots of all these cultures. My favorite book of all time is The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. It’s so intelligent and can be read for so many reasons and on so many different levels. It’s so long, yet you never want it to end. My favorite children’s book was Rumpelstiltskin by Paul O. Zelinsky. I was absolutely terrified – I would cover his picture on every page – but I was obsessed with the story. The books that got me through a difficult time were Tropic Of Cancer by Henry Miller and Walden: Or, Life In The Woods by Henry David Thoreau. I remember being 15 and feeling like such an outsider. They changed my life – I felt understood, as I’d never felt understood before. The one book everyone should read is Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. You can read it at every stage of your life and there’ll always be something there for you.” - Brie Larson, on the books that help her, terrify her, and make her want to travel to far-flung places
