The Black sisters being the overprotective and feral older sisters to Regulus.
Andromeda: I’m sorry to Sirius but the moment we saw that Potter boy—
Bellatrix: We knew—
Narcissa: —that we wanted him for our Reg.
The black sisters nodding and agreeing,
James: Yes. I thought so too.
Andromeda:
Bellatrix:
Narcissa:
James:
Bonus
Sirius: What’s going on here?? Why was I not invited??
Sirius:
Sirius, pointing at James: Better yet, why are you here???
Regulus: What in the ever loving fuck?

idk why im in such a bad mood rn but it actually PISSES ME TF OFF how the entire marauders fandom collectively decided to take this bum-ass loser character with one discernable impact on the storyline (regulus. im talking about regulus) and make him a super complex, three-dimensional MAIN character in the era that’s being literally paired with JAMES POTTER(???) when they could’ve taken a character who AREADY has existing complexities and everything they could ever want and develop them. but they won’t because that character is a fucking woman ☠️☠️
the way the black sisters would have the entire fandom in a fucking chokehold if they were boys. do you actually think sirius and regulus would be as cherished as they are now if they were women? hell fucking no, regulus would be hated on so badly. the way we were given narcissa and fucking andromeda too? here’s the entire fandom yapping on and on about how cool regulus is for rebelling against the dark lord when narcissa was doing it and fucking getting away with it too (because she’s better and doesn’t suck ass). here’s andromeda going against her entire bloodline ON HER OWN but yet shes still so overshadowed by sirius (who literally came after her). then you got bellatrix who is canonly one of the most powerful (and cuntiest) witches in the hp-verse and you decide to go and develop BARTY instead. think about it. they’re both crazy except one is more of a loser and is a male so of course the fandom will choose him.
and then. of course. lily evans who is literally the mother of the entire verse itself is still out here fighting for literal recognition and development from the fandom. and those mfs still give it to regulus instead ☠️☠️

Sirius being asked what he thinks about his cousins
"Andromeda is by far the most tolerable. I can actually have a conversation with her without wanting to rip my hair out for the most part."
"Narcissa... has her moments. Doesn't mean we get along, though."
"Bella- *incredibly dramatic groan that sounds suspiciously like he's holding back a scream*. That about sums her up."

"don't touch me !" she pulls her arm from him after he grabs her -- but she doesn't move as he continues to talk. she rolls her eyes. "send someone to the hospital wing ? there's only so many times you can tell me you didn't mean to before i stop believing you, rabastan." it doesn't help to add to the rumors that there's something going on between her and ted tonks. a rumor she doesn't need anyone in her family knowing about. she can't have her family find out that she has any kind of interaction with someone that they deem as lesser because of their blood status. ted tonks was a good person.
her breath audibly hitches when he takes a step toward her, though her body is screaming to take a step back -- she doesn't. her gaze is brought up to his, and the tears in her eyes are evident, searching his face. she finds herself melting slightly into the gentle kiss he places on her lips, her hand coming up to grasp at his wrist. "there is no competition," she breathes, long fingers brushing against his wrist as her eyes open up to look at him once more. she's not sure if she's trying to convince him or convince herself -- but he pulls her in so easily, it's hard to even think of there being any kind of competition for her affections. "tonks is nothing but someone i've been forced to be paired up with for an assignment, and if that's what all of this was about, then you're foolish." she tilts her head to rest her forehead against his, swallowing thickly at his words and she sighs. "don't say that if you don't mean it."

outing myself as a hp brainrotter to ramble abt the Black Sisters
WARNING: ACCIDENTAL ATTEMPT TO WRITE FLOWERY LANGUAGE BY SOMEONE WHOS BASICALLY ILLITERATE
Cygnus: the youngest of his siblings. The most forgotten yet the most fortunate—with Walburga having descended into putting the mad in madness and Alphard declared a traitor for helping Sirius. Passive in all he did, happy to grow his branch on the family wreath tree enough to simply appease the Lords and Ladies. A once acceptable husband wilting away as his wife grew more desperate
Druella: An outsider in name and nationality. The youngest of her own scrutinizing family fleeing to England to not drift away in the chaos of high society. A subject of speculative whispers regarding whether or not she’ll too fall victim to the infamous Black Family Mania. What those same people who whispered that they were proven right don’t know is that that mania is not familial but a product of centuries of perfectionism. A woman reduced to a counterpart—a failed mother with 3 daughters contesting with Walburga’s 2 heirs. A mother who passed her own familial unfavorables to her daughters. A woman who saw herself in her third daughter and final child—a child she titled only in her head yet announced to everyone as her greatest failure—and named her not after the starry patterns of the Blacks but the flowery thorns of the Rosiers
Narcissa: A woman content to fade into the background as the pretty-faced third daughter of 3 children. A woman named after a natural beauty defaced by its grimy background. A girl who was not Black, Malfoy, or Rosier yet above all was loyal to whoever she called family—disregarding what they called her. A woman who saw the women in her life be called mad disgraces, malevolent traitors, and failures and upheld the scraps her branch of the family tree left her with not because it was anywhere close to the romance she dreamed for or the quiet life of obscurity she knew to expect but because no matter how she may lay awake at night comforted by the agony of her blood she couldn’t stand to break her mother further. A lady who married her best friend because she knew that’d be the best bet she had of a happy marriage, and had only one son however much she both longed for and dreaded a daughter.
Andromeda: Always picking up and picking up the pieces for the people around her, as all she’s ever known how to do is love. A woman who saw firsthand how her eldest sister was broken beyond repair despite her attempts and shielded her youngest from witnessing the truths she carried with her as she left her dreaded house (because she can’t possibly call it home, no matter how often her mother or sister—who can really tell the difference—did so, not even trying to act as they genuinely believed this could somehow be anymore than a fortress), her mother’s screaming voice no longer being able to echo in her. A woman who was not saved by the man she loved but floated up to the surface
And Bellatrix. Ohhh Bellatrix. A powerful woman broken and broken by curse upon curse and memory charm upon memory charm for daring. Daring to break against the rigid bark of a tree from which the sword that cut her into pieces was forged, daring to be the first of what many called failures but what should be called those who were failed. A woman who left claw marks in whatever semblance of power she had yet, like any other, fell limp as she took her last breath. A woman who died at the hands of a mother’s love as a woman who never got to know what love would be. A woman who saw a glimpse of herself in blue eyes (not cold and sharp like that of her blood, but like the stars she was named after and would lay on soft grass and needlessly watch with a blonde girl who saw too much and knew too much. A girl who saw a person in a woman who knew too little) before someone else took that from her too. A woman who never knew power and thought she wielded it even as she sat in a cell haunted by what doomed her to the fate she was only halfway through living

a closed starter for @blackestrose What: The Hogsmede Hallow's Eve Festival
Alecto did so adore Hallow's Eve. It was a unique night, where you could practically taste the magic in the air. Not that magic had a taste, of course. Perhaps some might say it does, like that Borgin boy who's mind always seemed far away, but Alecto could taste apple cider in the air, the smell of candles as they burned in their pumpkins, and the hint of firewhiskey and butterbeer. That one was far stronger as she passed by the Three Broomsticks, but the others hung like velvet in the air. Like Alecto said, it was magic.
The costumes tonight were in exceptional form and Alecto had been enjoying looking at them, though as she passed by one of the Black sisters, she paused, struggling to identify what the other witch was dressed as. "Andromeda, dear," she called out, "what on Earth are you wearing?"

Regulus had noticed Andromeda quite quickly, and his eyes followed her around the room. He’d been looking for people that he actually wanted to see, she was definitely an unexpected addition to that list. Excusing himself from Elodie, he quickly made his way over to his cousin, picking up a couple of glasses of champagne along the way. Sliding up next to his cousin, he handed one of the glasses to her, raising an eyebrow as he glanced over to her. “Do you feel as uncomfortable as I do?” He asked, knowing that even though he wasn’t technically invited, he was here as a plus one. He wondered how Andy got in through security. “Happy you’re here, I think Cissa will be happy to see you here, too. Whether she wants to admit it or not.” @andromedabtonks

DA:TV rant … if you are of the mind that BioWare can do no wrong /its games can be criticize or if you truly enjoying the game and are loving everything that you’ve seen so far this post is not for you. Please move along and if you don’t want me showing up on your feed please block me. I will not be engaging with any fan that will not allow me to take up space and vent my feelings on the disaster that is this fucking game.
*Also a lot of spoilers!!
.. it’s horrible, like I knew I was going to be disappointed but holy fucking shit …
I’m about to finish act one and .. they destroyed their entire lore … BioWare destroyed their ENTIRE lore /world build of Dragon Age
Minrathous has NO SLAVES !!! They are briefly talked about via shadow dragons but they’re are none visible at all in the city ( but they have the animation to give a poor person “fake money” )
The qunari who literally fought and tried to kill solas in trespasser have been turned into mindless brutes who willingly joined the evil gods … because they command dragons ?
The blight except for one mission is harmless. They purposely turned it into a bio weapon and then (besides the dark spawn spawning from it like something out of an MMO) due to *plot armor, no one actually contracts the blight ???
The black chantry minus one building that you go through in a side quest doesn’t exist? No chantry members , no talk of the black divine ..
Dalish are all engineers now and part of the veil jumpers ( which should not exist lore wise) and all elven magic has been converted into cyberpunk technology and artifacts. Very little talk about their oppression and they are all very willing to drop all their history , even their distrust of solas , to flight the old gods .
Varric Has been demoted to inspirational speaker and narrator he has no other role and the entire team acts like he died , even when he’s in the room with him ( I think BioWare actually planned to kill him but then chickened out ) and is a husk of his former self
Same with Morgan , you can’t interact with her at all and she’s given the same mysterious background as flemeth ( the theory that she carries mythal spirit is very strong right now )
Lyrim potions don’t exist, in fact lyrim doesn’t exist at all besides the dagger. All magic has turned into technology, and if you play as a mage mana just has an automatic replenish rate /cool down effect that you can level up.
Evil gods go back and forth between an actual intense adversary and threat to the world, and a typical Disney villain.
These are just the few I can think of off the top of my head, there is so much more than this …
The game can literally be summed up as Mass effect andromeda x2 with God of war animations and marvel style writing ( not the avengers I’m talking about the recent shit)
Also for the people who want to kill solas or simply dislike him, the game pushes a sympathetic view of him on you ,even your companions who outrightly want to kill him will feel sorry for him. And I’m saying this as a solavellan fan. Yes they’re options to be mean to him and antagonize him, but you won’t get anyone agreeing with your actions ,at best they’ll be neutral about it. Now this might play out differently for those who picked the “chooses to stop him “ option , but for those who’s inquisitions wanted to save him but they wanted their rooks to hate him … you’re not gonna be happy about what you get ..
The only thing that keeping me playing is the reveal of history of ancient elves and Titans and solas’s story. And Assan!! Assan can do no wrong !! Everything else is a slog to get through.

Bellatrix chuckled, pleased to see that Andromeda at least looked happy to see her. She couldn't truthfully deny that she had been concerned the opposite would be true when she had first spotted her sister in Diagon Alley. Rumours had caught her ears of the middle Black daughter not always keeping the best company, and if she had been planning to meet with such people today... well, Bellatrix's presence would likely have been the last thing Andromeda would have wanted.
"You say that as if it's not a family trait."
Tumblr media
Andromeda always loved this time of year. All of the wizarding families flitted in and out of shops, collecting all of the necessities for the start of school. She could remember the feeling of excitement, getting to be out in Diagon Alley which was a welcome warmth from the chill of the Black family manor. She stood in Flourish and Blotts, which was busier than ever. She had no true reason to be there. Sure, Meda could use yet another book on charm crafting or the history of curse breaking, but for the most part, she was there to enjoy the people watching. She turned and jumped slightly, not expecting someone right there behind her. Meda chuckled as she calmed down. "You are a sneaky one, aren't you?" she greeted with a wide grin.

i find it so interesting that Sirius tells Harry that he found out about Regulus' defection after his death, because it doesn't actually make a lot of sense. all the circumstances surrounding Regulus' death are secret--the existence of horcruxes, voldemort's plans, Regulus' plan and decision--to everyone but Kreacher, who we know kept that secret until he told Harry 18 years later. (and if it isn't explicit, it is really likely that Harry was the only one he told, especially because he only did so on Harry's orders. otherwise, Kreacher probably wouldn't have had possession of the locket). Regulus' body is never found so considering the secrecy, it's likely that people only know he's dead from the tapestry of the Black family tree, which would have recorded it automatically with his death.
but. Sirius specifically says that he found out Regulus defected after his death. even though nobody would have known for sure. which begs the question: who told Sirius that and why would they tell him?
the most obvious answer is Kreacher but again, I don't think that makes sense. sure, Sirius could have forced him to tell, but if that was the case, why would Kreacher still have the locket? why wouldn't Sirius take it? and, even more than that, why wouldn't he know the whole story? Sirius believes Regulus' actions came from a place of fear and cowardice, but Kreacher notably calls Regulus brave, which doesn't work with Sirius' version of events, so it's unlikely he got it from Kreacher.
from what i'm thinking, there are two versions of how this goes:
The Rumour Mill: Regulus goes missing and, for one reason or another, everyone believed he defected. maybe it's because the Order didn't know how he died, so it couldn't have been one of their people/in a battle. maybe everyone looked down on him because of his age. maybe he was just a really bad death eater. maybe one of the death eaters falsely claims to have been the one to kill him on voldemort's orders. maybe something else i'm not thinking of. whatever the reason, this theory spreads like wildfire, and despite there being no evidence, Sirius chose to believe it. which says a lot. even after everything the brothers went through, and everything Regulus did, Sirius chose to believe he died a coward rather than a murderer. that he died, maybe not trying to do the right thing, but trying not to do the wrong thing.
Somebody Told Him: Regulus goes missing and no one has any idea what happened to him. not the death eaters, not his family. maybe it's advertised, maybe not. but eventually, someone in the family notices that the tapestry has recorded his death. (this is likely walburga i think--Kreacher probably wouldn't want to draw any attention to himself by claiming to know anything about Regulus' death, since she could order the info out of him, and Orion might have already been dead since he dies the same year as Regulus). so Regulus is now declared dead and someone believes he defected, believes it enough to tell Sirius, disowned and estranged as he is. it couldn't be Andromeda. it wouldn't be Walburga. but it could be Narcissa. Narcissa with her death eater sister, death eater husband, little death eater cousin who goes missing and she tried to work out what happened. she doesn't succeed, we know that, but maybe she gets enough info about Regulus before his death, maybe even from interacting with him and seeing how he was, to believe he defected. and despite Sirius being disowned and estranged, she tells him. maybe from a sense of obligation. maybe because she thinks he deserves to know--she's a sibling too. and he chooses to believe her.

Sirius Black: Looks and Behaviour
Honestly, a few of these are canon, and I'll put that in brackets. Most of them are shamelessly self indulgent tho. Please note that this is the first part of The Sirius Black Headcanons Series, and I hope you enjoy!
.
Tall ASF. He towers over everybody, and combine that with his tendency to stick to the etiquette lessons he had been given as a child— he stands with his shoulders rolled back and his chin held high, straight-backed and arms at his side, sometimes with his hands in his pockets— he looks intimidating. He never slouches. (see: literally every time Harry mentions him)
He walks powerfully. Long strides, feet perfectly placed, arms swinging just right. Sometimes he walks with one hand in his pocket, curled around the pocket watch he carries around, given to him by James' parents for his 17th birthday and engraved with the Potter crest. People see him coming and clear out of his way immediately, and he does not even notice. He is the kind of person that attracts attention everywhere he goes.
Silvery grey eyes, high cheekbones, straight nose, strong jaw and determined eyebrows, full lips that make him look intimidating. Dense, silky hair, pitch black in colour and slightly wavy. Sirius is a living example of the fact that True Beauty is striking and terrifying. (see: again, literally every time Harry mentions him. Boy is calling Sirius handsome even during his death scene.)
He prefers to keep his hair long like his grandfather does, with the difference of tying a bun instead of a proper gentleman's queue. If not for the leather jackets and the ratty muggle jeans and the band t-shirts, he would have always been mistaken for Arcturus.
He has a lot of body hair, and he hates that his facial hair grows so fast, because he likes to stay clean shaven. His arms and legs and chest are hairy and he does not care much about that, but he likes it when his face looks clean and well-groomed, so he shaves every other day.
When he speaks, he is very articulate and concise, and often gets teased for it by Remus and Sirius (James is the same as him). His grammar is immaculate, and he prefers not to use expletives. He does use them, especially when he stubs his toe or drops something or some such happening, but he does not use them when insulting people.
He is always polite to people, even when he is arguing with them (see: ootp, his argument with molly). He will argue without raising his voice, because he firmly believes that greater volume does not equal improved argument, and only raises his voice in extremely stressful situations where he needs to bring attention to what he is saying.
Has concrete values and views, and refuses to bend or change them for anyone (the only exceptions are James and Harry). He is the kind to research and read before he forms an opinion, and does not hesitate to say that he is not educated enough to have an opinion on something if that is the case. He hates people who behave like sheep, and much prefers to do his own independent research and form his own independent opinions. (see: gof, he tells Harry he isn't sure Snape is a DE)
#1 Overbearing Fusspot™. James might have been the mother hen of their group, but Sirius was the Stressed Dad™. He is that overprepared airport dad; always worrying about this and that and making sure everyone has everything ready, and he extends that same parent behaviour to Harry after Prisoner of Azkaban (see: literally every interaction between him and Harry, he is such a parent).
Cares about only a few select people: James, Lily, Harry, Mr and Mrs Potter, Remus, Peter, Andromeda and Ted and Baby Tonks. He could not give less of a fuck about everybody else— he has a small circle and he likes it that way. After Peter's betrayal, that list reduces down only to Harry, Andy, Ted and Baby Tonks.

5 Years, 8 Discoveries: NASA Exoplanet Explorer Sees Dancing Stars & a Star-Shredding Black Hole
Tumblr media
This all-sky mosaic was constructed from 912 Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) images. Prominent features include the Milky Way, a glowing arc that represents the bright central plane of our galaxy, and the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds – satellite galaxies of our own located, respectively, 160,000 and 200,000 light-years away. In the northern sky, look for the small, oblong shape of the Andromeda galaxy (M 31), the closest big spiral galaxy, located 2.5 million light-years away. The black regions are areas of sky that TESS didn’t image. Credit: NASA/MIT/TESS and Ethan Kruse (University of Maryland College Park)
On April 18, 2018, we launched the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, better known as TESS. It was designed to search for planets beyond our solar system – exoplanets – and to discover worlds for our James Webb Space Telescope, which launched three years later, to further explore. TESS images sections of sky, one hemisphere at a time. When we put all the images together, we get a great look at Earth’s sky!
In its five years in space, TESS has discovered 326 planets and more than 4,300 planet candidates. Along the way, the spacecraft has observed a plethora of other objects in space, including watching as a black hole devoured a star and seeing six stars dancing in space. Here are some notable results from TESS so far:
Tumblr media
During its first five years in space, our Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite has discovered exoplanets and identified worlds that can be further explored by the James Webb Space Telescope. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech
1. TESS’ first discovery was a world called Pi Mensae c. It orbits the star Pi Mensae, about 60 light-years away from Earth and visible to the unaided eye in the Southern Hemisphere. This discovery kicked off NASA's new era of planet hunting.
2. Studying planets often helps us learn about stars too! Data from TESS & Spitzer helped scientists detect a planet around the young, flaring star AU Mic, providing a unique way to study how planets form, evolve, and interact with active stars.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Located less than 32 light-years from Earth, AU Microscopii is among the youngest planetary systems ever observed by astronomers, and its star throws vicious temper tantrums. This devilish young system holds planet AU Mic b captive inside a looming disk of ghostly dust and ceaselessly torments it with deadly blasts of X-rays and other radiation, thwarting any chance of life… as we know it! Beware! There is no escaping the stellar fury of this system. The monstrous flares of AU Mic will have you begging for eternal darkness. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech
3. In addition to finding exoplanets on its own, TESS serves as a pathfinder for the James Webb Space Telescope. TESS discovered the rocky world LHS 3844 b, but Webb will tell us more about its composition. Our telescopes, much like our scientists, work together.
4. Though TESS may be a planet-hunter, it also helps us study black holes! In 2019, TESS saw a ‘‘tidal disruption event,’’ otherwise known as a black hole shredding a star.
Tumblr media
When a star strays too close to a black hole, intense tides break it apart into a stream of gas. The tail of the stream escapes the system, while the rest of it swings back around, surrounding the black hole with a disk of debris. Credit: NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center
5. In 2020, TESS discovered its first Earth-size world in the habitable zone of its star – the distance from a star at which liquid water could exist on a planet’s surface. Earlier this year, a second rocky planet was discovered in the system.
Tumblr media
You can see the exoplanets that orbit the star TOI 700 moving within two marked habitable zones, a conservative habitable zone, and an optimistic habitable zone. Planet d orbits within the conservative habitable zone, while planet e moves within an optimistic habitable zone, the range of distances from a star where liquid surface water could be present at some point in a planet’s history. Credit: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
6. Astronomers used TESS to find a six-star system where all stars undergo eclipses. Three binary pairs orbit each other, and, in turn, the pairs are engaged in an elaborate gravitational dance in a cosmic ballroom 1,900 light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
Tumblr media
7. Thanks to TESS, we learned that Delta Scuti stars pulse to the beat of their own drummer. Most seem to oscillate randomly, but we now know HD 31901 taps out a beat that merges 55 pulsation patterns.
Tumblr media
Sound waves bouncing around inside a star cause it to expand and contract, which results in detectable brightness changes. This animation depicts one type of Delta Scuti pulsation — called a radial mode — that is driven by waves (blue arrows) traveling between the star's core and surface. In reality, a star may pulsate in many different modes, creating complicated patterns that enable scientists to learn about its interior. Credit: NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center
8. Last is a galaxy that flares like clockwork! With TESS and Swift, astronomers identified the most predictably and frequently flaring active galaxy yet. ASASSN-14ko, which is 570 million light-years away, brightens every 114 days!
Make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space!

I’m endlessly curious about Andromeda’s interaction with privilege in the wizarding world. She walks away from her family to marry a muggleborn and casts herself out from the epicentre of power, but how much does she still hold as a pureblood witch? She might no longer be welcome at the country houses of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, but when facing down some middling Ministry official or a half-blood family she’s still a Black. How much does she lean into that?
As far as we know she doesn’t provide any support for Sirius when he runs away from home nor does she try and get him out of Azkaban. She doesn’t seem to play any part in the First War at all. I think all of this could be justified under an explanation of her cutting herself off from the wizarding world entirely in order to protect her family, but that kind of disconnect doesn’t make sense when Tonks not only goes to Hogwarts but becomes an Auror. So does that mean Andromeda doesn’t have any power or resources to lean into, or just that she doesn’t care about Sirius, or a bit of both?
Then there’s the fact that Auror is the profession Tonks pursues. For someone to choose to be part of upholding such a problematic institution, she has to be normalized to wizarding society’s power structures - enough to accept them, or maybe not question them at all. So that makes me envision an upbringing where Andromeda said her family were the problem, not pureblood power and privilege in itself. (And there’s a whole other conversation in there about the pressure of gender conformity and internalized homophobia that Tonks grapples with tbh.)
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Andromeda fan. I actually think these gray areas are what make her fascinating. Like Sirius, she straddles contradictory worlds, and both benefits and suffers from wizarding social power. I think there’s a lot to dig into there.

Marlene smiled, a genuine one this time. "I would have loved to see them, but I understand. You have to do what you have to do to keep them safe," Mar said softly. She could only imagine how difficult it was for Andromeda, but Marlene didn't fault her for her choices. They were all doing things that they had to do to save themselves. Self preservation in the face of death was only natural. "You know...if you ever need to, my flat is welcome to you and Nym. If you ever need a break."
Closing her eyes to stop the tears from pricking her eyes, she knew it was dangerous to talk about this, especially in public, but she couldn't help it. She felt like Andromeda was the only one that she could talk about this with. She nodded her head. "I'm glad that you're here, Andromeda," she finally settled on. "How...are things?"
Tumblr media
marxmckinnon:
Marlene was almost glad when she saw that it was Andromeda. In a lot of ways, she felt like she could be more open and honest with Andromeda than she could with other people. Ted had gone missing too, the same time that Marz had. But she doubted that Andromeda had the guilt that Marlene had–Ted’s disappearance wasn’t her fault.
Looking at the card, a true smile formed on Marlene’s lips. “Please thank them for me,” she replied, her voice soft. “And thank you. You are too kind to me.” She didn’t deserve it. Sighing, Marlene shrugged her shoulders. “He should be here,” she whispered. It felt wrong talking about her brother in public.
Tumblr media
“I will, they will be thrilled to hear you liked it,” She sighed. “I would have brought Nym but their excitement would have been more of a red flag than just my being here.” A silly thought perhaps, but Andromeda was alarmed the family hadn’t done more in discouraging her from consorting with Marlene or James. As rare as the moments were, she was certain she would get an earful if someone let slip precisely where she was.
“They all should be,” Andy whispered in response. The thought was far too traitorous to be spoken in anything above a hushed tone, accompanied by her placing a subtle hand over her mouth in case it turned into her mother somehow having managed to have someone dog her steps. “But they aren’t, so this is the closest we’ll be able to get for the time being.”

"Ah, hello Andromeda!" The greeting moved out from Alecto towards the woman she had addressed it to. A smile firmly in place that edged on the boundary of a smirk greeted Alecto's conversational target. It was sharp and full of teeth. "How is our lovely Athena doing?" Settling more firmly in her seat and fixing Andromeda with a canny look, Alecto tilted her head. "Shame we never got a better discussion on costumes during the celebration. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised you chose Athena, but I was certainly surprised you didn't make something of it like Bella did. She's always been so terribly clever. How are your classes going, Andy? I'm sure I could use your advice in a few of mine."
