(there will still be a post tomorrow to keep on track)#The original 3 panel comic idea was fine but the point of this new schedule was to take time to push myself a bit more.#I was taking a look back through some comic artists I felt inspired by #and I really loved how Lynda Barry fills her gutters with patterns and doodles!#Obviously I'm not going as absolutely wild with it as she does but it was a great exercise!#I truly think the gutters are the most important and most overlooked part of any comic. There's lots going on in that space.#It's the same with timeskips. The implied movement between moments that we don't see changes depending on how wide that gap is #You're here for the funny tags so here's some that ties this time talk together:#I think LWJ was thinking about that second note from day 2 but it took him 7 days of hazing to commit it to paper.#I think he sends it a day later and immediately regrets it. Chasing down the messenger and everything.#You know if something actually happened to his brother he would never ever forgive himself for putting the bad vibes out there.#Third time skip was the hardest because there was so many possible flavours of jokes here. Day 8/9 was a personal favourite.#day 14 was also funny (week by week). I think the debate on 'how long does lwj take to catch feelings' is more or less:#'how long does it take for him to arrive at a particular stage of grief and yearning (and awareness of it all)#This is a symphony. There is an act by act structure. Every day he is fighting to keep his old sensibilities. He is losing so badly.#(I'll be returning to the main comic soon but there is more of this AU to come!)

I was about to write "One year anniversary of the most inept protest movement since Occupy Wallstreet.", but then I remembered Extinction Rebellion exists...

Seriously though, leftists seem to have the idea that protests are magic. They think it is like protest -> result, when in reality it is protest -> public support -> political response to public support -> result. You cannot skip the middle steps.

(What I wrote is true for the participants in the protests who were hoping for results within the year. It is possible that there are some Palestinian activists who are playing the long game of trying to build a generational consensus that Israel shouldn't exist and then run out the clock on pro-Israel sentiment in the US population to maybe realize a Palestinian state "from the river to the sea" in ~50 years.)

i feel extra awful today n weak and i went downstairs n both my mom and my sister the first thing they said when they saw me was that i look pale o(-< whihc i dont even know how they can tell when i am literally always some form of purple

#but man i wish someone would hit me w a tranq shot #i just want out for a bit #pushed myself a lil too hard yesterday i think #but ive honestly been feeling worse lately for a long time #i say like i dont feel consistently worse . literally Always #my wisdom tooth still harms me everyday #i cant open my mouth barely at all #and my whole jaw is so tense 24/7 i feel like its draining my power #it's me fnaf keeping the doors down #also tw sh #but i have multiple open wounds that i have to pick dirt out of by hand everyday #because i dont have anything to use as a bandage #and they hurt so bad because i for some reason made the choice to do them on both legs #trying 2 sleep is a nightmare #i just want them to get scabs already but theyre taking so long #they refuse theyre just staying open #one of the slightly smaller ones did and honestly now it hurts more JHBJH.. because it's so tight any movement pulls on it'#and its so inflamed because of that #but at least it is better than just Ravine

#kate middleton #sweet kate 😭❤️#without speculating about kate's specific diagnosis BUT as a relative to someone who was struck by this out of the blue last summer:#PLEASE don't let embarrassment get in the way of getting checked for bowel cancer #as someone who works in healthcare talking about bowel movements and feces is SUCH an everyday thing for us #no one will bat an eye if you go see your doctor or the hospital about changes in your stool or pain or bleeding or whatever #no one will think it's funny or embarrassing #instead it can save your life #take it from my granny: the worst thing about a colonoscopy is the laxatives you take for prep ❤️#please see a doctor for: 1. blood in your stool or from the rectum 2. long-lasting changes to your regular pattern of bowel movements #3. unexplained weight-loss 4. unexplained pain in your stomach that doesn't go away 5. any time of lump in your stomach (anywhere really)#6. unexplained tiredness and 7. a feeling that you don't empty your bowels completely #text

so wait, since i was just reminded of the recorder thing donna talked about in the giggle, i now have a question for uk ppl: do yall learn the recorder in school? like in a music class? and like how much do yall have music class over there?

#this is a very interesting topic for me as a music educator from the us #ik a guy from ireland and he said there was no music class in schools for him and like not the same country BUT same island #(as northern ireland. not the others in the uk but still)#and its so wild and fascinating music education is a fascinating field and the way we do it in the us seems to be largely vvv unique to us #for clarification on how things are different so ppl have a better idea on how to answer my question lol:#in the us music class is standard in elementary schools and most places have general music until abt 5th/6th grade (year 6/7)#(general music = basics- music games learn recorder SOME notation-reading; often classroom instruments eg boomwhackers claves maracas #orff instruments if you're lucky/from a school district that isnt poor. also some world music)#its less standardized after that and not every school will have music after middle school but concert bands and choirs are both huge here #choirs start right on the heels of general music classes (sometimes start earlier + students elect to be in choir instead of general music)#bands USUALLY start in 4th grade (year 5) but sometimes can be later 5th/6th (year 6/7) or even 7th (year 8) (WAY less common)#depends on the state generally 4th is most common i think (choirs start at around the same time i think so probs 4th but choir isnt my area #orchestras are weird bc theyre a lot less common but can commonly start younger bc of one of the big approaches to music ed (suzuki method)#so like maybe 3rd grade (year 4) maybe 4th w/ band (year 5) but i have a friend who teaches at a private school #& said they have 1st/2nd graders (year 2/3)!! orchestra is also not my area though #also marching bands: vv common! usually just in hs (starting 9th grade / year 10) bc it supports the football team at games #but starting in 8th grade (year 9) is also common (sometimes even 7th / year 8)#theres two different styles: collegiate/show band and competition. former is very rah rah pop music etc; competition is more abstract #show bands are clearly designed to entertain whereas competition is designed to be more impressive and tell a story #so more impact moments abstract shapes/lines on the field and has movements - opener ballad closer (fast-slow-fast)

Windows 11 makes me feel like my computer is talking down to me and I have literally no other way to describe it

#just found out the print screen button doubles as a windows key?? and i'm trying to unbind it so i can take pics when i play games #and just. trying to find the applications and it giving me search results instead #trying to open menus and everything is dumbed down and simplified and i can't find anything #please. please. i am an intelligent man. i can handle words with more than 2 syllables.#this is specifically about me playing 7-2 and watching a gutterman and swordsmachine beat each other up #and wanting to get a screenshot but watching the game completely freak out every time i try #i bound a movement key to prt screen and that's how i found out it doubles as a windows key #hellish design!!! i want to take pictures of my silly gay robot game!!!!#shai speaks

Movement - Week 2 Animation

Continuing on from my research on the animation we begun developing storyboards based off our story ideas. My story was to create a tale of celtic druids performing a ritual to save their homes from flooding during a storm.

This is based off the story of Lough Gur which nowadays is a sizeable lake. but it once was nearly 10 metres higher, so much so that the lake covered the islands present there now. It was only after they drained it.

Paul would point me towards a film 'Midsommar' which deals with paganism in Scandinavia, as a point of inspiration and to study for choreographing the dances for my animation

And another film I looked at was 'Outlander', a time-travel flick which has a few scenes depicted Irish Druids in ritual dances.

I would like to replicate the visuals of the Outlander scenes in my stop motion and both films are helping in deciding and planning out the dances in my stop motion.
