Hi!!! Could you maybe write a Music Meister x Soprano!reader with kind of a phantom of the opera vibe? I’m an opera vocalist learning Queen of the Night’s aria and I absolutely adore Meister!! :)
The Song In My Head Music Meister x Soprano Singer!ReaderI myself have had a few years of vocal training, I hope you do exceedingly well in your training love. It thrills me to the bone to know that someone I might possibly see on a stage one day is about to read a story of mine. I really hope you enjoy this, babydoll. This one’s all for you. Happy reading!!)
It was possibly the slowest day in your entire week, yet you’d still found yourself attached to the stage. Singing was more than a passion, it was the blood in your veins and the culmination of your soul that poured out each time. Not many knew this fact, though you were omnipresent in your local community’s theatre program. The Phantom of the Opera was going to be directed by a local director, you’d been doing your best to solidify the role of Emmy Rossum’s character Christine. It seemed that out of all the auditioners your voice fit the bill nearly perfectly. Nearly.
As the others left, the director herself came up to you, “(Y/N), dear.” You feared the worst, until she continued, her kinky curly hair like a halo crowning her head in the stage lighting. “You’re exactly what I need for the part. I just would like to see you get a bit of extra training. Even at your tone, it couldn’t help to improve.”
You sighed in relief, “Anything for you miss Keyes. You really liked my audition?”
“Did you not see me trying not to skip everyone else,” she was deadpan in her expression as she spoke pure honesty. “I have to do callbacks on Wednesday. Please show up at 1:15, no sooner or later.”
With that you parted ways, promising to come back a little later in the week. Sure enough, upon arrival, she’d been setting up a piano backstage. It was one of those on-the-go pieces, the kind that the legs fold in on. When you sat down your bag, there she was knocking the front left then right ones into place. Cat-like senses told her of your presence without a word from you. She looked to you and greeted, her almond brown eyes glimmering like amber beneath the lights.
After the second round of auditions, callbacks, you were solidified in your position as Christine, a role you’d only dreamt of procuring earlier in your life. The cast and crew were gathered upon the stage and the first of many pep talks was given. Lara Keyes was not a hard woman to please. She asked for cooperation and listening, then promised to give the same in return. Where others would place tons of rules she only had one; Get Along.
“I’ll be making sure you lot are fed, my wife’s a caterer,” she spoke dignified and clear. “You just have to show up, be nice and perform. When the production is finished I’ll compensate everyone of you for your time. Are there any questions?”
No one asked anything, all just content with their new roles. The slender, athletic director passed out extra copies of the script and schedules she’d no doubt hand printed for everyone. It was a decent one, not too many or too few opportunities to practice. She’d even taken the liberty to schedule workshops for things like operatic singing and characterization methodologies. There were stars in your eyes and butterflies in your stomach, things couldn’t have gone any better.
The next meeting for rehearsal was the following day and sure enough, there was food backstage. A plethora of party items and even specially made things for those with intolerances and allergies. The woman serving lunch was a petite, soft spoken woman with long jet hair tucked into a neat bun. The costume designers were huddled around a laptop watching the original Phantom of the Opera for inspiration, those with major parts were to warm up their voices. All cogs in the drama machine were working simultaneously towards the same goal: Perfection.
From the darkened background, a shadowy man watched as piece by piece a performance was built. It was very much his forté to see such beauty as this. For weeks into the production this phantom would leave gifts, unlike the one of the film and musical. He sought to help in any way he could, all-the-while keeping his sacred anonymity. Among those gifts was the actual dress from the very first broadway production of the musical. Once, during rehearsal, the cloaked man actually saved you. While you and others practiced, what must’ve been the hundredth time, your voice began to crackle. Expertly he swung down with a bottle of water, making sure it didn’t hit you as he dropped it before catching himself on the catwalk above the stage. The rest of the day was cancelled. Only those who chose to stay of their own free will remained. You were the only one.
The headlines read “Phantom of the Opera Attracts it’s own Phantom”. There was a photograph on the front page of you and your partner in the middle of practice. You wondered how many people had read it, had your helper himself read the article? The week before your performance was excruciatingly filled with late nights dressed to the teeth and caked up with makeup like there was no tomorrow. It was a humid hot in the theatre, the floor was sticky and no one understood why. To the rescue came the old, worn out AC unit, it tried its best to cool off the masses. The paper coined “Phantom” had other plans, however.
Atop the catwallks, where the heat tried to escape, he noticed a large fan unplugged. The black cord was simply dangling beside what must’ve been the world’s oldest electrical outlet. He did exactly what was needed, turned on the fan. Cool air rushed down and sputtered as the blades spun to life and the soft humming of it seemed lost to those performing at the top of their lungs. A wisp of the cold wind caressed your cheek and then rushed past to kiss the next needing performer. That night, you knew you were destined to meet the unknown helper. The very one who’d been keeping his secrets locked up tighter than a banker’s fist around a dollar.
“Miss Keyes may I borrow the backstage exit key,” your request was met with a gentle kindness.
The woman gladly handed over the key as long as you promised to give it back the following evening. She left after that, not before noting that your extra effort was something she was grateful for. Now alone with a piano and a dimly lit stage you sat, fingers against the ivories. The theme song was the first you practiced, the life of you spilling into the air with every word you’d rehearsed hundreds of times throughout your lifetime. After a few minutes, too into the singing to keep your attention to the music, the shady man showed himself. Tunes equipped and blasting like you’d heard in your head.
A purple suit, lime tie, and a matching purple top hat with blue blockers. Not what you’d expected to see. He held a battery powered stereo in his white knuckles and tried his best not to sing along with you. It was peaceful until you rose from your seat and stopped singing. That’s when he began to panic, dropping his boombox like cinderella’s slipper and taking off he wasn’t seen or heard from again. Not until the actual performance did the meistro decide to grace the cast and crew.
“Excuse me,” he’d spoke up after the director gave her ‘you-can-do-it’ speech. “It has been the light of my life watching this whole thing come together.” From the shadows he monologued on, “Like watching a child grow up and marry. I do not often grow attached to casts or stages, though this set has stolen my heart.” He was safe upon the catwalks, shrouded in darkness like he’d always been. “If anyone is more qualified for these roles, I do not know them.”
One of the extras, a curly redhead, looked up to the sky and gratefully shouted, “Thanks opera god!”
You knew in your heart it was him, the phantom of the opera himself come to grace your play. Little did anyone know, any song you’d sang was the song in his head.

Face Claim: Darren Criss
Age: 30
Codename: Music Meister

Skills: Ability to hypnotize people to do his will with his higher pitched singing voice, ability to induce coma like slumber and trap individuals in their own dreamscape musical movie plots in their minds
Sexuality: Pansexual
Species: Metahuman
Status: Villain
BIOGRAPHY:
Past: The beginnings of Music Meister are quite unknown. His real name, place of origin all remain a secret, even after his arrest by the DEO he simply said (or rather sang) ‘Music Meister is all I know’. He has admitted that his childhood was tough though - he was always smaller than the other kids and instead of wanting to join in and play little league baseball or other silly children’s games, he would spend hours playing the piano, taking to the piano notes like a fish to water. Deemed ‘weird’ by the school bullies, he would often get picked on and promised that one day the bullies would no longer get the upper hand.
It is unknown when Music Meister first started his road to being a supervillain. However, the Central City Police considered crimes going back three years to the particle accelerator explosion at Star Labs. The police department found that weeks after the explosion, there were multiple reports of bank robberies, art thefts and missing jewels that fit his MO - a man would enter the location, he would start singing and soon enough those around him were quite literally help the man load up a van with whatever he had stolen. Estimates have amounts of money he’s gotten away with in the millions: jewels, money, artwork, he does have rather expensive tastes.
Unknown how he could cross dimensions, however finding a way to do so, Music Meister showed up in National City and was allegedly the thief of several National City Bank heists. The DEO was tracking the unusual circumstances of the heists and were finally able to arrest him (or so they thought). All part of his much grander scheme of getting the DEO’s attention, he allowed himself to be arrested so that he could get closer to Supergirl, who at that very moment as he was led in, just so happened to have the teleportation button in her hand. Thank you Supergirl by the way! With his adoring audience watching he took his final curtain bow and stepped into this dimension where he was after the fastest man alive. Toodles!
Present: Finally managing to catch the attention of the scarlet speedster, The Flash, just as he had done to Supergirl, he placed Barry Allen under a coma like slumber and trap him within his own mind to follow through with his own musical movie plot. With the two out of the way it allowed for Music Meister to rob the Central City Bank – though it did lead to his subsequent capture by Kid Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Vibe. He was placed into a cell and unfortunately once an individual is stuck in their coma like slumber there’s nothing Music Meister can do about it – his powers don’t work like that and it’s up to the individual to rescue themselves and see the plot through.
With his own set of skills though, the Music Meister escaped the quaintly decorated little cell he had been placed in and well, after all his handy work, it seemed The Flash and Supergirl and their subsequent love interests managed to save themselves. He was after all trying to teach them a lesson and well whatever did happen to that money he stole from the Central City Bank? Consider it his fee for his helping services and don’t forget to have ‘a little love in your heart’. Off he went to go about his trickster ways and who knows what mischief he’s up to next.
Secrets: Music Meister is a secret all on its own, no one knows who he is and what his past is all about; other than a few dropped hints, he uses assumed names, usually starting with ‘M’ but who knows if any of those are real or not. He doesn’t play well with others and if he is working with someone you must wonder that his ulterior motives are.
Negative traits: Arrogant,Secretive, Cunning Positive traits: Talented, Energetic, Clever
Please answer the below questions (in detail) in character:
–If you could go back and change one specific about your past, what would it be? “I don’t even know why I’m answering this stupid thing, but hey, you know, what the hell, for the entertainment value of it. Let’s get to know the Music Meister a little bit more. I mean I’m not just a pretty face and in love with the power of song, money, jewels, expensive artwork….one thing I would change about my past…..I laugh a little because this is going to be very heartfelt and without this, I don’t know if I would be the man I am today. But as a child, from the moment I first saw a piano, I was enthralled by its black slickness and white ivory keys. I loved listening to every note it made and I wanted to know everything about it. I loved sitting there on the piano bench, my fingers just relaxing over the keys spread out before me. It was like this was just for me and a feeling no one could take a way. I would spend hours sitting there and playing; I had a thirst for knowledge when it came to music. I finished my workbooks before my piano teachers could even tell me what to do for lessons. I wanted to know everything about. I loved singing and making up notes, my own notes, it was like a window into my soul when I played. But the other kids didn’t understand that. When they were off in the summer playing soccer in the field and trying to get me to come join their playtime, I didn’t want to join in. I’d sit on the sidelines and drawing notes in a journal, humming to myself my own music. How I loved being creative with all of it. As kids are often very cruel though, the fact I wouldn’t come and play with him, they would tease and bully me. I remember being chased by a couple larger kids into a corner; they grabbed my music notebook from my hand and began tearing and ripping pages out of it, laughing and taunting me to do something to stop them. But I couldn’t. I wasn’t any kind of athlete. I was always small for my age and all I could do was watch as my great works were shredded before my eyes, I cried. I cried not for the words they threw at me, but for my lost notes and hours spent. Up until then, I never knew what it was like to hate anyone. I hated those kids, those bullies. When they finally left me, I mourned over my lost music. I swore to myself that day that I would never let anyone have that kind of control over me again. I wouldn’t let them take anything from me again. If I could change anything, I’d go back and tell myself that I wasn’t powerless then, just as I’m not now, and that no matter what those bullies do, they’ll get what’s coming for them. And believe me, they definitely did.”
–If you could tell one person your darkest fear, who would you tell and what would you tell them? “Firstly, you’ll learn fast that there’s only one person in this life you can depend on, and that’s yourself. To answer your question who would I tell, not a single damn soul out there. No one should have that kind of knowledge about me. I am a one-man show! For arguments sake, since I’m hoping I’m the only one reading this and whoever the mysterious man (or woman) behind the curtain is so to speak. Darkest fear…I guess this would go hand in hand with my previous answer. Feeling small, powerless, and forgotten. I always believed I was meant for so much more than a simple life – I would have working as a nine to fiver, getting up every morning and doing the same job day in and day out for what? A mortgage? Taxes? No, that would be too simplistic. I would hate to have to report my life to someone and have my actions controlled. That’s the problem that are so-called heroes have. They live by a set of rules that hold them back and they’re not truly free. Someone is always watching their moves. No thank you. I love my life the way I want to and that’s just the way its going to stay.”
PARA SAMPLE
Fresh off the dimensional portal and making his grand escape from the DEO, thanks again to Supergirl for the ticket to this dimension, parting after all was such sweet sorrow - a curly head of hair looked up at the tall skyscrapers that made up the city. A smirk danced across his features. Central City was in for a rude awakening with its newest arrival – he after all had plans as previously announced. He was out to catch the Fastest Man Alive and he was sure with a little must of mischief the scarlet speedster would come to find him. Barry Allen had no idea what had just rocked his world.
On cursory looks, the Music Meister, whose name remained a mystery, didn’t inspire a second glance. Dark haired and average in height, he looked like a traveling musician who might busk on the street corner for a dollar or two. No one would suspect the dark motivations lying underneath. The early thirty-year-old was up to his old tricks. Why not have some fun while he caught the eye of the speedster. And he had just the target! In one hand, folded over to the Arts and Culture section of the Central City Picture News, the Central City Museum had a visiting collection of Modern and Contemporary Art on display all that week. He did have some expensive taste and that Degas shown there on the paper wet his appetite. Music Meister fully intended to go and be a paying member of society to view the work, nothing nefarious about that. Though those dark little thoughts that usually got him into trouble was that he was already plotting how he would rob the museum later that night. The guards would help him walk right out with that Degas and hopefully that would catch the attention of his much bigger fish to prey on.
Off to the museum it was! And yes, that very afternoon, after a twenty-dollar entry into the museum, which in his mind was highway robbery, he took his time inspecting the Contemporary Gallery – counting guards, looking at paintings or rather the security on them. He looked like any other tourist enjoying his time. When the museum closed, he left without a thought, and waited there just across the street as the lights went dark and traffic settled for the evening. Hazel eyes gleamed with a twinkle, waltzing right up to the front entrance of the museum like he owned the place. He timed it just perfectly as the security guard rounded the corner from his outside patrol and yelled at him to freeze. Holding up his hands, he was obviously unarmed as he faced security; the guard demanded to know what he was doing there.
With this sickly-sweet pitch to his voice he sang, “I am the Music Meister and I’m here to settle the score!” Having had years to put together the perfect notes that allowed him to hypnotically control a much weaker mind, the guard was under his spell and doing his bidding, unlocking the front door of the museum and strolling right on in with the Music Meister by his side. Any other guards they met up with soon found themselves under the villains tutelage. Using them as he had with many other weaker minds from the past, he had the guards remove the Degas from the wall, purposefully setting off the alarms to get the attention he wanted.
“Thank you gentleman, you’ve been wonderful, I’ll take it from here.” Taking the painting from the guards, Music Meister strolled right out the front door and imagine his delight as a streak of what looked like red energy showed up there at the bottom of the steps. Making a show to check his watch on his left wrist, “I’m almost disappointed, Flash. I expected you here sooner. Maybe you aren’t the Fastest Man Alive as everyone claims.”
Anything Else?:
This is kind of my own spin on the character since we don’t know a whole lot about Music Meister, I kind of mashed in things from the Brave and the Bold, the CW Musical Crossover, and sort of my own musings for the character. Plus, the character was kind of crazily powered up in the CW crossover and I wanted to scale that back a little and make him more human-ish.

Supergirl/Flash Musical Crossover
Been a few days since I watched it, figured I may as well post my thoughts. So in case you haven’t guessed...
THERE WILL BE SPOILERS! READ AHEAD AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!
No, not this type of spoiler. Because the New52 sucks.
As expected, the Supergirl ep ends on an ambiguous note that entices you to watch the subsequent Flash ep, where the crossover actually begins. But this seems to have a bit more connectivity.
See, before, as with this instance, the Supergirl ep ends, and you can either catch the Flash or not. EXCEPT...there’s something that happens in the Flash that’ll directly affect Supergirl going forward. Mon-El and Kara (a couple I’m not exactly rooting for, is a cliche and I kinda would like to see end, quite frankly) were on the outs in the Supergirl ep, and after the Flash, they’ve more or less reconciled. I expect that they might take it slower after their clashing of Mon lying, but otherwise, I suspect people who don’t tune into the Flash may get a tad lost.
Music Meister wasn’t what I was expecting. Like, at all. He didn’t even have a musical them to him. The character premiered in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, voiced by Neil Patrick Harris, and his power was hypnotizing people with his singing. This version, played by Darren Criss, is significantly different. He makes eye contact with Kara, she passes out, does the same thing to Barry (after grabbing the Cisco’s portal pendant from Winn, carrying it for “Bring Your Plot Convenience to Work Day”). In doing so, not only does he trap them in a world mirroring classic movie musicals, but he’s also absorbed their powers.
But whenever I try to look into Melissa Benoist’s eyes, she maces me.
Then later, when Supegirl and Flash wake up, we see he can’t really be captured. He easily got out of Team Flash’s cage, which has held a bunch of different super-baddies (no toilet, though). Then, after saying he was essentially trying to mend broken hearts, he fades away. So...he was less Music Meister and more a benevolent Mxyzsptlk (whom Kara recently encountered). I was expecting/hoping it’d play out more like the Brave and teh Bold episode, or the Buffy musical, where the world was made into a musical. This was more an intense coma fantasy by an ambiguous demigod with very little development.
The songs were fine. I’m not big on musicals, but this was a fun deviation from the shows’ current plots. I kind of expected MORE songs, to be honest. My favorite one was problem “Super Friends”, because it had the leads having fun while they probably reminisced about their time on Glee in between takes. Though, I found it odd and borderline brown-nosing when Barry said he couldn’t get why Superman was better known than Kara. You don’t know, Supes Barry...who are you to criticize?
I’ll grant, that’s nit-picky.
At least someone gets him.
While the dream-shenanigans carried on, Team Flash had to catch the Meister. J’onn revealing his Martian form to Cisco was particularly enjoyable. Mon-El stays behind because he’s thoroughly useless, but that’s okay, because I can’t say I dig how the show’s portrayed him. One of the few times Vibe suits up sees him, Martian Manhunter, and Kid Flash giving Meister a one-two punch that allows them to capture him. For all the good it did.
Overall...I might’ve liked it better than the four-show crossover they did, but the execution was a tad...iffy. The problem was all the ambiguity about Music Meister. He seemed like a villain, but it turns out everything he did was a means to fix a couple relationships. No explanation why. Seems like lazy writing to be honest. Sure, the end result was fun, but imagine how much MORE fun it could’ve been if they’d been clearer...

#The Flash S3 Ep 17 "Duet" Recap & Review
This week's episode of the Flash continues where Supergirl leaves off. A mysterious alien has put Kara into a coma on Earth 38 and is now on Earth 1 to find Barry. He does the same to Barry, but instead of being comatose, he and Kara are in a musical storyline created by their own minds. The alien explains to them that they need to finish the plot of the story to escape.
Versions of arrowverse characters appear as characters and performers including Winn, Cisco, Merlyn, Stein, Joe, Mon-El and Iris. As Barry and Kara move through the story in their minds, the team tries to capture Music Meister. Cisco, Wally, and Jonn manage to capture him and put him in the pipeline. Mon-El and Iris visit the alien, who explains to them that they can only save Kara and Barry if they truly love them.
In the dream, Barry and Kara finish the story but are shot in a shootout between two gangs, run by Merlyn and Joe. Dying from the wounds, Cisco manages to Vibe Mon-El and Iris into the dream and reconcile. Barry and Kara awaken form the dream as Music Meister enters the lab and congratulates the heroes on delivering a great story. He explains that he was their to teach the two couples (Kara/Mon-El and Barry/Iris) a lesson about love and is moving on to help someone else. Upon being asked who he is, Music Meister implies that they wouldn't understand and leaves.
With both heroes saved, the Earth 38 heroes return home. Barry meets with Iris at their apartment and sings her a song. He re-proposes to her, this time doing it for the right reasons and she accepts as the episode comes to an end.
This was an amusing episode. I want rag on the plot much, because it was obviously tailored to go with the songs that they wrote for the episode. I also won't rag on the characters, because the Arrowverse has no shortage of musically gifted actors. This was just a fun episode and complete and total fan service. But in this instance it worked. The dream's story was corny and cheesy and everything that goes along with it, but it worked for the tone of the episode. Having all be a part of a dream made it fit better. All ill say is that musicals are for some people, but not for others, so I can understand if people loved it and i can understand if people didn't like it.
On the comic book side of the episode, it was great to see Vibe, Martian Manhunter, and Kid Flash all fight Music Meister. Darren Criss did a great job portraying the care free and mischievous alien. It was also fun to see Jesse Martin, Victor Garber, and John Barrowman all sing in the episode. I'm not confident that an annual musical crossover is needed (or wanted), but it was fun as a one time thing.
Overal Rating: 7.0
LET US KNOW
-How did you like the episode?
-Which song was your favorite?
-What kind of being do you think Music Meister is? (Alien, New God, Inter-dinemtional Being, Supernatural force?)

Now to the good stuff on Flash. Gangsters and Musicals. It's like the showrunner's get me, you know. We open the show with young Barry and his mother watching Gene Kelly's Singing In The Rain and in present time where he's been been staying at Cisco's moping watching Gene Kelly singing in the rain. when in doubt and your miserable, seek out Gene, guys, works like a charm, unless you’re a hater. I love this guy and now it’s confirmed that Barry likes this guy. Still hate John Travolta though, cute duet with Caitlin aside. Let us not forget that canon comics Barry can tap dance too:
(photo taken from Hoosier journal of inanity)
Music Meister is played by Darren Criss who I know as Harry Potter from University of Michigan's A Very Potter Musical, which I was obsessed with years ago. He's basically from another universe possibly implied to be ours (explaining I guess how he's able to cross dimensions, share's Kara's and Barry's powers and can escape the pipeline) and is basically pulling a fix-it fic to get Barry and Iris and Kara and Mon-El back together, by putting them in a coma where they live in a universe where everyone sings and dances and they have to follow the script, which the two think is getting that universe's Iris and Mon-El to tell their parents they're in love with each other, which gets Barry and Kara to realize the error of their ways when they dumped their respective loves. In spite of Iris and Mon-El's news both sides still call on a gang war and everyone gets shot including Kara and Barry so Iris and Mon-El from Earth-1 have Cisco vibe them into the world and save them through the power of love thus awakening them from their coma's that Music Meister put them in.
Kara's sings Moon River, Music Meister, Winn, Cisco and staff sing one of Jackie DeShannon’s patented annoying honky, peace and love songs. Joe, Martin and Malcolm sing a Paul McCartney song, I'm not familiar with. Joe and Martin Stein are Iris-I mean Millie's dad. Yes everyone has different names and relations, like Mon-El being Tommy instead of whoever played him on Arrow. For the sake of things I'm going to continue referring everyone by their usual character names because I can't remember their names in this universe. So Malcolm owns a nightclub where Kara and Barry work at and is a gangster rival to Joe and Martin. Cisco and Winn are also employees and get to sing and play at the piano. Meanwhile on Earth-1 Martian Manhunter, Cisco and Kid Flash stop Music Meister and put him in the pipeline.
I hate to admit this because I know ships are sacred, but in an rp I was in, J’onn J’onzz and Wally West became our main ship so we've always lamented that they were probably never going to interact in the closed off universes on CW until now!
There’s a song Winn plays on the piano where Barry and Kara sing and dance that’s titled Superfriends and Barry mentions that he’s not impressed with her more famous cousin and does an impression of him. Here’s the thing, it’s always been my headcanon that Superman grates on Barry’s nerves dating back to his Silver Age race challenges. Love it.
Anyway By the end of the episode Barry and Iris are back on track after he sings her a song in his own reality and Kara returns to her shit show life of her choosing, so all in all I give this episode a half of a win.

Kaede Kisaragi Watches The Flash S3E17 - Duet
What? We get dressed fancy like this, and only get two songs for each?!?
Awww, 18 years ago, Nora was showing Barry how singing numbers make life better through Gene Kelly ^^
Aww... Barry is torturing himself watching Gene Kelly depressedly at Cisco's. Cisco is sick of his moping about, and wants to help. HR summons them before long, though, so nothing is solved. They arrive at the breach room to find the breach open... And out comes Mon-El and J'onn, carrying Kara. As was done by the criminal at the last episode of Supergirl's cliffhanger.
So, the team gets to know Mon-El. Who puts his foot in his mouth by mentioning his break-up (well, more like J'onn outs him). And HR rubs in the foot-on-mouthness by mentioning Iris and Barry's. The team is quick to make certain though, the 'breacher' is likely coming after Barry... Or rather, he is already there, sitting on the breach room, waving at the camera. I love how J'onn just nods when Barry speeds off, not even blinking about it at this point. HR tries to coax Wally into action, but he is so depressed he even let his hair grow. He does go after, a bit mopey-looking though.
They meet with the criminal, who knows their names and says he's here to teach them all a lesson. AND SOMEHOW HE SPEED TACKLES KID FLASH, BUT IT'S NOT WITH SPEEDSTER ENERGY! He mocks Kid Flash for being scared, and Flash for being slow, putting the whammy on Barry.
Barry wakes up in a suit, in a fancy party, with a gorgeous Kara singing in the lounge. And good god, this Glee reunion is amazing already! ^^ Barry's all smirks and joy at Kara's beautiful voice. The song she sings, seems to tell about how they both are travellers, after the same happy ending. The two reconvene after the song, quickly estabilishing the important things: red handkerchief. Whammy. Coma. Not her boyfriend. Her nothing. The two go out together to figure out what's going on... and they meet Malcolm Merlyn in a casablanca suit. Wait what? No, he's Cutter Moran, owner of the club, and they work for him. Wait what? And Winn's a guy named grady who works for Cutter? And Barry and Kara got no powers? Grady and Cisco... well, not cisco... ARGH x.x It hurts to keep up. Pablo. Grady. Cutter. Pablo wants to sing. And this is like everyone was playing a role... in a musical.
The criminal finally comes in, and explains this world was created by their mutual love of musicals (which means if they loved pornos, this show would be cancelled). He says they'll only manage to escape if they reach the end of the script. Until then, they're stuck in their own heads.
Cue musical as Grady and Pablo are singing from the criminal's cue. Also, Cutter too. Complete with dance number. A little love in your heart will make the world a better place. And Barry's totally enjoying it in silence, the little goof XD So anyway, after it ends, they gotta figure out the plot so they can end it. They are singers. For a gangster. But then another group of gangsters comes in and knocks Barry out. Lead by Stein's doppelganger.
As the two wake up in captivity, Barry gets talking about Mon-El, so she can explain how for 9 months she didn't know he was the prince of daxam. Barry tells her in turn about his problem with Iris. Both bemoan how simple things are when using their powers. Joe comes in. He's Digsy Foss, the guy who owns the town. He needs their help to find his daughter Millie, missing in Cutter's club. And yes, she is Iris. We got our script.
Pablo gives them the tip about where Millie is. Kara tells Barry to keep calm, that Millie isn't Iris. And she's glad she didn't meet anyone looking like Mon-El, who she just might punch... HELLO! MON-EL AND IRIS MAKING OUT. AND IN LOVE. THIS EPISODE IS ALL THAT IS PERFECT LOL
In the real world, Caitlin has examined the two's bodies, and deduced that the criminal is draining power from the two. And indeed, speed-force-fueled criminal is robbing banks with a mash of powers. Kid Flash, Vibe and J'onn (in full Martian form, to Cisco's shock) suit up to go stop the criminal. He once again mocks Kid Flash's fear, and the two have a race off. The criminal then takes off flying, so Cisco coordinates a combo op with the other two: Martian Manhunter flying punch, plus Kid Flash Speed Tackle = one criminal down.
In the dream, turns out, "Tommy" and Millie are both children of mobsters who hate each other... Oh goodie. West side Story. Kara and Barry gotta find a way to convince them to come home to their parents. Turns out, that is easy to do. Weird huh? Weirder still, Stein and Joe are Iris's DADS lol Iris tells them about Tommy. Likewise, Tommy tells his dad about Millie. Neither parent likes it. Barry tries to convince the dads about how strong love should be held tight to, no matter who tries to stop you. Kara, in turn, tells Tommy's dad to try to understand his son better, and why he was afraid to tell. CUE MUSICAL FROM JOE WEST AND I AM GIDDY AS FUCK AND BARRY IS SITTING DOWN TO LISTEN AND I'M LAUGHING SO HARD! AND FUCK, FORGOT MARTIN SING ROCK TOO! THAT WAS A BLOODY HINT LAST EPISODE OF LEGENDS! The dads sing about how they wish nothing but the best for their children.
And then, after the music is done and all is good, they go gather up the boys for war. Well shit.
In the pipeline, Mon-El and Iris demand the criminal to fix Kara and Barry. The guy insists he cannot 'fix' this, that Barry and Kara are in full control of their fates right now. As are the two of them, as he confronts Iris on her love for Barry and Mon-El's for Kara, saying they have the power to save their loved ones with the power of love.
Back in the dream, the duo still don't know what to do, Barry FINALLY letting me use the guy's proper name: Music Meister. They are being summoned by Cutter to do the singing, so they ask Grady for help with coming up with something original... Which he can, of course. Musicals are easier indeed. Barry FINALLY SINGS WITH KARA!!! AND TAP DANCE!!! AND SING ABOUT BEING SUPERFRIENDS ^^ AND JOKE ABOUT COMING BACK IN TIME BEING FORBIDDEN! AND HOW NO ONE SAYS THEY'RE NOT IMPRESSED BY KAL-EL XD AND KARA DOESN'T LIKE HIM USING FLASH PUNS XD AND I'M LOSING MYSELF HERE XD IT'S JUST PERFECTION XD
Aaaand it is time for west side story war. They gunfight outside. Barry rushes out... All our main characters get shot, including Barry and Kara. They are crashing outside the dream. In desperation, Iris begs Cisco to vibe her and mon-el into the dream to save them. Kara and Barry, bleeding on the spot, are found by Iris and Mon-El, who both rush to their side in panic and horror. But they're dying... Mon-El apologizes for lying, and Kara forgives him. Barry says he loves her, and Iris says she does too. They kiss... Both of the couples do... waking them up in real life.
Oh, and Music Meister's out of his cell. Wait what? He says he's here indeed because he... loves the good guys, and was really trying to teach them a lesson. Because he sees everything, and saw two broken hearted people. Love was the lesson. Love is about letting yourself be saved. And just like that, he's off to teach somebody else a lesson, vanishing into thin air, saying only that he's too complex to explain whether he's from another dimension or not.
The team is giddy as they discuss Barry and Kara's amazing singing voices (Caitlin can vouch for Barry's, too!), but it is time to leave. And yes, Kara will drop a geological mountain on you if you lie again, Mon-El. As for Iris and Barry? Well, they go back home... their home. Iris didn't touch a thing in the apartment. She discusses how they did lots in 3 years... But never a musical, no sir. She realizes he was watching musicals... And Barry shows her first hand his amazing singing voice, singing her a love song. AND HE KNOCKS IT THE FUCK OUT OF THE PARK, THAT VOICE IS A DREAM!!! THEY DANCE LOVINGLY AS HE KEEPS ON SINGING HOW HE'LL KEEP RUNNING HOME TO HER! And also how he has no clue about how the future will go... WHIPPING THE RING OUT AND ASKING HER TO MARRY HIM AGAIN, SINCERELY, AND SHE SAYS YES!!!
I'M NOT SCREAMING!!! YOU ARE!!!
This was AMAZING!!! The musical bits were beautiful, everyone did an awesome performance, even the ones I least expected, but of course, the main songs we must love more than anything are the main duet and the ending song. What a wonderful episode this was.
And what about the music meister? His purpose was clear: an outside force, no strings attached, with the sole interest of aiding them through their problems. The producers had commented that they made Iris and Barry break up solely so that Barry would have something to work through here. And Kara's problem was a long time coming (although hers is a whole different beast, because behind the 'you lied to me' argument lies her intolerant hate for all things daxam and refusal to see Mon-El's side in every argument they ever had... Which ironically, is exactly what she told Cutter to avoid doing to his own son. The third end of the plot, of course, was Wally, who was the only one to actually face off against Music Meister in a traditional super fight, and this appeared to be deliberate, so that Music Meister could bring some confidence back to our Kid Flash.
But who is the music meister? A fifth dimension imp, like Mxyzptlk? Or better yet, like Bat-Mite? Is he an avatar for the producers who are sick of writing angst for their cheerful heroes? I personally vote this last one LMAO

Featuring:
Artist: Alicia Michilli New Release: Back Down Genre: Soul/Pop
Located in: Nashville, TN
This song is... I am a Soul/R&B artist from Detroit, my music is heavily influenced by Motown and Soul. My song, "Back Down" was tracked live, except for horn and vocal overdubs, which gives it a very authentic, raw vibe. This compliments the lyrics perfectly since they are very honest and uplifting. It’s a reminder to myself (and others) that even when life gets crazy and hard, we just need to lean on each other and keep moving forward. It’s about being resilient and remembering where you come from. The only thing that can stop you from getting where you want to be is yourself.
The music we are creating is... This release, "Letters From the Edge", is important to the direction of my music because it is the stepping stone to the next phase of my career. This is the first project that I feel really captures who I am as a person and as an artist. I believe it will open the door to a lot more opportunities to share my music with beautiful humans around the world. I believe a lot of people can connect and relate to the stories being told in these songs.
Right now we are.. I am most excited about my, “Letters From the Edge” EP release show. It will be on March 5th, at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville, TN. I am also really excited to be hitting the road from April-June in support of the EP release. I will be traveling through the mid west, Europe, and the West coast. I’ve also got a music video in the works as well which should be a great time!

Artist: Chris Driver
New Release: 'Lightning'
Genre: Folk-Country-Pop / Singer-songwriter
Located in: Brighton and Hove, UK
This song is... With his emotive and captivating vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Chris Driver is a singer-songwriter based in Brighton. His debut single ‘Lightning’ was released in October 2018 and conveys his love of harmonies and a stripped back raw acoustic sound. Chris’s influences include Neil Young, The Beatles, Radiohead, Band of Horses and First Aid Kit to name a few. Expect an eclectic mix of folk-country-pop.
The music we are creating is... As my debut single, 'Lightning' is very important to me and a song i'm so pleased to be able to share as I start the journey of releasing my music as an artist.
Right now we are... I have 3 more single releases planned over the next 5 months, and have just finished mixing the follow up to 'Lightning' and filming the music video.

Artist: The Hesh Inc. (band) / Hesh Meister (solo)
New Release: Convention Hall
Genre: Rock, classic rock, singer-songwriter
Located in: Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA.
This song is... This song is the opening track to my album, "Soul In Exile 3: Love Runs Aground," and it is a frank exploration of how a relationship or marriage disintegrates from the inside out, couched in the imagery of a legendary old building on the Asbury Park boardwalk crumbling by itself. It starts off sounding like a piano-and-voice ballad but the lyrics soon turn pointed and are underpinned by organ, drums, bass, and especially guitar. Anyone who has been through the demise of an intense, sustained relationship will be able to relate. Be forewarned, though - this is NOT a simple three-minute pop gem - it is pure album rock, the way it was once made in the golden era.
The music we are creating is... This song keeps the album in the public consciousness, for those who seek this type of music. THE HESH INC.'s musical mission is to keep the album-rock epic alive during a time when trends have gone elsewhere.
Right now we are... Right now I am in the writing phase, making early plans for the recording of the next album, which will be a continuation of this one.

Artist: Cwiredband
New Release: Climb the Mountain
Genre: Resurrection Rock
Located in: Berkeley Springs, WV - Nashville, TN
This song is... about Spiritual Growth and Ascension. Where are all here to transform from our egoic me centered self (our Dragon) into an awareness of Unity and Relationship. It’s a journey. The song is somewhat epic in nature. Sonically we feel the writing, lyrics, and arrangements fits the life long process of always becoming more aware of our true selves and our true identities. It’s a trek that leads us to an understanding of just how magnificent we all are.
Right now we are... Working on our next EP. C Wired has more than enough material to record a full-length album, but both he and producer Addison Smith are really comfortable with more frequent releasees every 3-6 months utilizing the 6 song EP format. It’s more in tune with the way we consume and listen to music today anyways. Most people are not taking the time to listen to an entire album. They select the one or two songs they like and add them to their playlist. Working on getting booked for European and US based tours, festivals, etc.

Artist: Mack H.D
New Release: FotoLove
Genre: Pop, Electro pop
Located in: White Plains,NY
This song is... Daft Punk inspired; I made the beat and recorded this song with LS at our studio 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I never released the song due to fear. I am mostly a Hip Hop Producer I helped dozens create their own sound but yet I never really created my own, so I was afraid that people would simply hate the song because it is so different. The song was inspired by a long distance relationship I had with my girlfriend which is now my fiancé. The song is about a guy that is in love with a woman and he becomes this super fan that has many pictures of her. The whole song is about this delusional guy talking to a photograph.
The music we are creating is... This release is important to me because it's unique and it's different than what I usually do. It brings out my skills as a music producer. It shows that I can step out my comfort zone which is hip hop and still create a banger that I cater to every generation.
Right now we are... Right I'm working on the video for the song FotoLove. I'm also recording for my upcoming album which will be a compilation album that will Produce.

Artist: Houndwolf
New Release: Tempted to Abuse
Genre: Heavy Metal
Located in: Witten, NRW, Germany
This song is... "Tempted to Abuse" is Heavy Metal song with a strong blend of Hard Rock. Tempted to Abused stands out due its organic sound, the straight songwriting and the unadorned and open-minded lyrics. The song comes along with a genuine and driving Heavy Metal sound, easy recognizable roots in Hard Rock and an in-your-face attitude.
The music we are creating is... "Tempted to Abuse" is the title track of the last released EP. The EP Tempted to Abuse (Label: M71) features four brand new kickass songs and was released on 27th April 2018.
Right now we are.. The band actually works on new material and plans several concerts. Houndwolf just started to work together with the All Metal Agency.

Supergirl and Flash Musical Crossover
While Supergirl is distracted with a new villain, Winn gets in legal trouble, thanks to his new girlfriend. Then, The Music Meister shows up and traps both Kara and Barry in an alternate, musical world.
Important Things to Know This Week:
The majority of the Musical event will be a part of The Flash, rather than Supergirl. Supergirl will likely have a lot of story to tell, specifically about the people looking for Mon-El. The musical episode will be very interesting, especially considering Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist's history on the TV show Glee. Other members of the Arrowverse also have musical backgrounds, so let's see who else shows up in that alternate universe. I don't think we'll get much, if any, story from The Flash. The majority, or all, of that episode will be the musical event, so we probably have to wait until next week to see the next step in Barry's quest to save Iris.
The Biggest Moments This Event (Spoilers!):
Supergirl:
As predicted, Mon-El is a major part of the early story. Kara definitely wasn't expecting to learn that Mon-El is actually the Prince of Daxam. I'm pretty sure we knew this, but it comes as a shock to Kara for sure. His parents now want him to return to Daxam, and the tension between them and Kara is cringe-worthy for sure. Mon-El's story about how he escaped Daxam definitely doesn't make it any easier, either. As if dealing with all of that new information wasn't hard enough, Kara also has to deal with Mon-El's mother pressuring her to force Mon-El back to Daxam. I get where Kara is coming from by telling Mon-El to take his second chance at having his family. I love the chemistry between the two characters, though, so it would be nice to see him stay. While that seems to be the case for now, he definitely could leave sometime in the future. Winn getting tricked by Lyra is terrible. He is starting to enter Cisco territory when it comes to his love life, and now he's facing a potential felony because he was too worried about pleasing Lyra. Luckily Winn is friends with Alex, and Alex can pull the strings with Maggie to help keep Winn out of trouble. Of course, they need to find a way to prove that Winn is actually innocent. Of course, Winn has to deal with trying to figure out if Lyra is lying to him still, or if she is actually telling the truth. The final confrontation with the alien art heist ring is intense, and exactly what this episode needed. It was nice to have a fight in this show not rely on Supergirl showing up and saving everything. The story ends happily, though, when Lyra gets her brother back.
The Flash:
I hate that Barry is having a hard time dealing with his and Iris' break. Cisco and Barry spending more time with each other is great, though. Hopefully we'll get more of those scenes. All of the scenes prior to Barry getting trapped are great. I love the inclusion of John Barrowman, Victor Garber, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Chris Wood, Carlos Valdes, and Jeremy Jordan in the musical world. Even though they aren't actually themselves, and I would love to see the interactions between Winn and Cisco in real life. The idea that they have to go through, and survive, the plot of the musical in order to survive is weird to say the least. it will be incredibly hard for these two to figure out how to make it through this without their powers. Walking in on alternate Iris and alternate Mon-El make out and talk about being in love makes it much more difficult for them due to what is happening in their real lives. Caitlin makes the terrifying discovery that The Music Meister is using this alternate world to steal Barry and Kara's powers. We do get to see an awesome team-up of Kid Flash, Vibe, and Martian Manhunter as they fight The Music Meister, but that, of course, is only the beginning of the solution. The Music Meister tries to convince Mon-El and Iris that they can save Barry and Kara through the power of love. By some miracle, Cisco is able to then Vibe them into the "musical" and save their lives. The fact that it leads to a lesson about embracing love was strange, but it was a nice message that we could see.
Overall:
As expected, The Music Meister shows up at the very end of the episode, and he traps Kara while escaping to Earth-1 to go after The Flash. Barry, of course shows up right after The Flash starts, and he is just in time to hear Kara's song. Overall, the story here is very entertaining, but it definitely takes a step away from the normal story. Fans of these shows will definitely love the novelty, but the lack of connected plot definitely affects the long-term view of the show. The moment when Barry and Kara get shot and almost die is definitely significant, though. That section of the episode is more than enough to make up for it's shortcomings, in my opinion.
Supergirl airs on Mondays & The Flash airs on Tuesdays on the CW. Leave a comment and let me know what you thought about this crossover event. Click to Post
