in the past i’ve referred to true dragon pokémon (species like dragonite, charizard, etc.) as being close relatives of bird and dinosaur pokémon.
this is technically true, but it’s not the full story. both true dragon pokémon and bird pokémon are dinosaur pokémon. specifically, and somewhat confusingly for bird pokémon, both of them belong to the group known as “lizard-hipped” dinosaur pokémon, a group that also includes aurorus and its relatives and tyrantrum.
the other group of dinosaur pokémon is called the “bird-hipped” dinosaur pokémon, and that group includes rampardos and bastiodon.

ok this is a bit complicated so bare with me
spence is a medical doctor but still works at the bau. the bau have to get like an annual medical test and one of them is a blood test.
moreid centric so reid is the one drawing the blood and morgan's scared of them. (derek said that he's gonna pass out and spence said things like i can take your blood when you're unconciouss") emily, jj, and everyone is watching and laughing but derek's nearly having a panic attack. spence then ordered everyone to get out and calm him down. he stopped mocking him and just being so gentle with him like he handle a lil kid who's afraid of needle.
this is kinda complicated and i just taught ab it in my daydreams lol it would mean a lot if you can write it for me, you dont have to though. luv ur writings, ty!!
<3 moreid <3 omg i want more characterxcharacter requests
--
"Spencer," As if the lack of professionality in using Spencer's first name wasn't evidence enough that Derek was panicking, his eyes were wide and intense too, locked on the needle in Spencer's hand, "I'm not kidding. I'm gonna pass out."
"It doesn't matter," Spencer shrugged, a soft smirk on his lips as he watched the usually cool, calm, and collected officer fall apart, "I can still draw blood even if you're unconscious."
Derek's eyes snapped shut, a grimace taking over his expression. And suddenly, it didn't seem funny. The shallow breathing that the man exhibited no longer seemed like grandiose dramatics put on for entertainment purposes, to get a few laughs. Instead they seemed real, ragged, and desperate.
The tightening of his muscles didn't seem like an effort to show them off, instead, his chest was stiff and his arms were pressed up against the wall behind him, holding on for dear life.
The way he'd scrambled up and out of the chair wasn't Morgan making Reid's job more difficult, it was Reid making Morgan's life more difficult.
Spencer finally snapped out of his discerning trance, hearing JJ's voice from across the room, "Oh, come on, you big baby. It's just a shot."
"Yeah," Penelope giggled, "I've seen seven year-olds take that more gracefully than you."
"Jack was better than this at three." Hotch piped up, an amused, seldom-seen smirk on his face.
"Guys," Reid spoke up, his voice much less light and airy than before, now grounded and strong, "Enough."
He didn't think he'd ever spoken with that much raw authority to his coworkers before. Sure, he'd given orders, he'd interrogated suspects, but he'd never silenced his team with two words before.
"Reid, we were-"
"Just give me a minute alone with him." Spencer glanced back at Derek, who was tracking everyone's movements with anxious eyes.
His coworkers, blissfully unaware and unrelating to the raw panic radiating off of Derek, shared a confused look. One by one, they stood, faces much more serious than when they'd been taunting Derek only moments ago. A few even mumbled out a mediocre apology to Spencer, as if he was the one that needed it.
"Derek," Spencer mirrored the man's former unprofessionalism, his voice soft and gentle as he set the needle down, stepping forwards a few steps, "I'm sorry for teasing you."
"It's stupid," Derek gritted out, his chest still heaving, "Hotch said- I'm in my thirties."
"It's not stupid," Spencer shook his head, walking closer and closer to Derek, "It's a phobia. I'm sorry I didn't realize before, I thought you were messing around."
"Don't apologize," Derek shook his head, screwing his eyes shut again, "I just- I can't do this."
"You have to," Spencer grimaced, finally standing in front of Derek, "I'm sorry, I wish there was some other alternative."
"I can't," Derek urged, "You don't understand, my brain won't let me-"
"I do understand." Spencer admitted, "Phobias can be crippling. And any situation seems better than this one right now. But this is mandatory, you have to complete these tests if you want to keep working here. If you don't do it now, you'll have to do it later, and I probably won't be the one administering the shot. Can I please help you with it today? I don't want you to have to do this again."
Spencer swore that he'd never seen Derek look closer to tears without actually crying. His chin was wobbling, his eyes glassy as his fingers clenched into fists to ground himself.
"I'll go slow," Spencer crooned, keeping his voice sweet and soothing, "Or- or fast, if that would help. You call the shots here- sorry, bad phrasing. But you know what I mean, you're in charge. Just because you need to complete the end goal doesn't mean you can't dictate the process."
"Nothing you can do will distract me."
"Actually," Spencer strode back to his desk, picking up an envelope from inside of his drawer, "I think these will keep you entertained for hours."
"What-"
"Baby pictures." Spencer pulled out a thick stack of photos, a slight blush on his face as he looked at the one on the top, "My mom sent them to me the other day. I kept meaning to get them out of here so that no one else could see them, but I guess it's good that I didn't."
"You can't possibly think that a few pictures of you as a kid are gonna distract me from a needle in my arm."
"I'm wearing a tie at age six," Spencer brandished the photo in question, one eyebrow raised, "You just told me the other day that you would bet money that I came out of my mom with a sweater vest on. I thought you'd want to see them. But if you don't want to," Spencer teasingly slipped the photos back into the envelope, heading back for his desk, "I can just-"
"Give me the pictures." Derek sighed, shakily peeling himself off of the wall he'd been leaning against, "Damn you and your stupid little baby glasses."
"I was six," Spencer chuckled, "I wasn't a baby."
"You're still a baby," Derek scoffed, "You're afraid of the dark."
"You're afraid of needles." Spencer deadpanned, leading Derek to his seat, "Did you forget what this was about?"
"Right," Derek sighed, his breath trembling in his throat, "Sorry, I-"
"Don't be sorry," Spencer shushed him, "That means the pictures worked. You were distracted, and you forgot about the shot. Keep looking, I'm pretty sure there's one in there of me reading War and Peace at far too young an age."
"Anything before sixty is far too young to read War and Peace," Derek grumbled, sifting through the photos in his lap "But, uh.. Thanks, Spencer."
Spencer smiled softly, the expression barely discernable as he rolled up the sleeve of Derek's t-shirt, "Just don't tell anyone else about the pictures."
"I can't promise that," Derek laughed incredulously, brandishing a picture of Spencer standing outside his university, two feet shorter and ten years younger than all of the other students there, "I'm keeping this one."

Fallen hard (Sanemi x femReader)
Warnings: none its pure fluff, and well my bad writing and grammar lol
Word count: 2410
Authors note: Okay I got to be honest with you guys. I wrote this back in September or October and posted it on Wattpad, I think (Yes I used to be on wattpad cries) But I really like REALLY wanted to share this on tumblr because its cute and sanemi deserves fluff. I really hope you enjoy it. Im already working on part 2 :)
Sanemi’s POV
,You're going this time right?'' Genya looked up at his brother, eyes full of hope that his brother would go to today's parents' evening. Especially now, that he had a new homeroom teacher. His brother, however, really couldn't care less, he maybe went once a year and that's usually the first and last time a teacher would see or talk to him. Still, he had to go today, Genya wanted him to go.
Yet his Brother's answer was bold and harsh. , And why would I?" Yeah, why would he? Genya started to think of a good reason why it was so important for him to attend today, but all he really could think of was his new teacher and that would certainly not be enough of a good reason for his brother to go. Well, he could at least try and give him this as a good reason to go, but in all honesty, he didn't want to get yelled at.
Sanemi however seemed to notice his brother's nervous behavior. , Just spit it out already.'' he demanded in a sharp tone, staring down at Genya. , W-well... we have a new teacher since last month... and don't you think you should show up? J-just to be polite...'' Genya stuttered, trying to avoid his brother's piercing gaze.
Sanemi just scoffed, trying to get away from this pathetic behavior of his brother. He would not join this damn parent's evening, not even if there was a new homeroom teacher. He already went once a year, wasn't this enough? Of course, the school disagreed with this, but goddamn it this was just a waste of time and that's exactly why he only went once a year. No more.
, Aniki, please... I'll do the dishes for the rest of the month!'' Genya tried again, he had to make his brother go and this was the last thing he could think of that might, just might work as bait on his brother.
Surprisingly, it worked. Sanemi then turned around, looking at his brother as he made another offer. , Two months, and I'll go." This was too good to be true. Genya smiled at his brother as he nodded, agreeing to his brother's offer. , Okay, sounds fair." - , Good. When do I have to be there?'' Sanemi asked. , 8 pm.''
Well and this, this was the reason why Sanemi was now waiting in front of the Classroom. Waiting for his brother's teacher to come out and finally talk to him.
Sanemi sighed in annoyance as he thought about how convincing his little brother was. He should've charged him way more than just two goddamn months, he should've charged him at least a whole damn year. If not even more. Even so, he could not return time and now had to deal with this new teacher of Genya. And if he was honest, he did simply not care about this new teacher. He was already thinking of how great he'd feel when he could finally leave when the door of the classroom suddenly opened and a woman, most definitely younger than him, stood there smiling at him.
, Mr. Shinazugawa, please come in." her voice was soft like a feather, kind of soothing as she said his name, kindly inviting him to enter the classroom. He was shocked, he did not expect his brother to have such a teacher, all day he imagined her to be an old hag, but instead of an old hag, a wonderful young woman was standing in front of him.
, I'm Y/N L/N, nice to meet you." She held out her hand as she introduced herself and waited for him to take her hand for a handshake. And so he did. , Sanemi Shinazugawa, pleased to meet you as well." he coughed out, slowly shaking her hand. God, why was he so nervous all of the sudden? It was just his little brother's stupid teacher.
Yeah, what the actual fuck was he even nervous for?
, I'm glad you had the time to come, Genya was afraid that you might not be able to attend." - , Well.." Sanemi started as he looked in her (e/c) orbs, I guess I was able to take some time.''
Her smile only grew bigger, showing him to take a seat in front of the teacher's desk. , And for that, I am very grateful. There's a lot of stuff I want to talk about.'' She sat down in front of him, going through a pile of paper, probably looking for Genya's folder. , So... what did the idiot do?" Sanemi sighed out, already preparing himself to hear what Genya did wrong and what HE had to pay for. But instead of hearing any complaints, Y/N only chuckled, leaving Sanemi dumbfounded as he watched her with confusion. , Oh he didn't do anything bad. No, indeed he's a very good student! Everyone adores him!" But that, Sanemi didn't hear.
As she started to brabble how great of a student his brother was, all he could do was watch her. Examining her soft features. He was fascinated, nearly hypnotized by her beauty. For once, he was thankful that his brother was so convincing. Sanemi might be harsh, however, he was able to acknowledge a beautiful woman when he sees one. And this woman right in front of him, was out of his league, maybe even out of this world. If he had to describe her beauty, he wouldn't be able to find the perfect word. She was just too pretty, too beautiful, too stunning. Probably even an angel, sent from above. And her soothing voice just fit her beauty so well. God, she was perfect, and for the first time in a while, Sanemi had forgotten how to think properly.
,,-and that's why Genya has already gotten so many good reviews from teachers from all subjects. So- Mr. Shinazugawa?" He suddenly heard her calling for him, snapping out of his thoughts.
Oh god, he was so deep in his thoughts that he even had forgotten to listen. He knew the moment he saw her that he has fallen for her, but ....he didn't know he has fallen that hard., Ah... I'm sorry..." he whispered in an apologetic tone, rubbing the back of his neck. The teacher in front of him however just chuckled again waving her hand, as if she was telling him that there was no reason to apologize. , No worries! But well as I was saying, Genya is a really good student and has gotten many good reviews from all kinds of teachers. Not only that... but his grades are pretty good as well. Almost only A's!" She then handed him a pile of all the grades his little brother has gotten so far, he didn't care, but for the sake of her, he took a good look at all the reviews and grades she has handed him.
He hummed in response, once he looked through all of the stuff, giving her back the paper as he answered. , I have to admit, he isn't that bad." She shook her head and scoffed, taking the papers he was holding. , Please, not that bad? God, he is pretty amazing if you ask me!!" The young woman then leaned in closer, frowning as she looked Sanemi in the eyes. , You should be more proud of him. After all, he told me you are his role model. He looks up to you and thinks you are an amazing big brother." Sanemis eyes widened at the statement, as Y/N slowly leaned back, obviously waiting for him to say something.
He then let out a low laugh, once again not sure what he was supposed to say. , That's... surprising.." The young teacher then slowly shook her head. , Well..." she shortly after said looking back up. , Just remember that he adores you a lot... oh and with that being said... You should read through this. This is just one of Genya's amazing essays he has written." the smile was back on her face, easing the tension between the two adults.
She handed him over an essay his little brother wrote, he knew he was supposed to read through it, but oh god he was just so distracted by her.  So he just had to pretend he was reading, while in reality he still tried to get over the beauty of this woman in front of him. He wasn't usually the type to show affection towards anyone, nor fall for someone this easily. But she, for some odd reason, got him all riled up.
, So...?" the younger woman nagged, curious about what Sanemi was going to say. , I'm surprised that my brother is actually this good." She nodded, agreeing with him. , He indeed is very good."
Sanemi had to confess, he hated the way she was praising his brother, for basically everything he did. Of course, she was his teacher and was actually supposed to say these things and yet he felt like she shouldn't praise his brother, but him. Yes, she should praise him, however, she probably knew too little to even be able to praise him. Damn, they have only ever met. So where did this sudden jealousy come from? And why only after they have met? It would've made so much more sense if it happened months after they've met, but now? After literally 10 minutes. Stupid, he thought, that was just stupid.
No, he was stupid.
, Is that all?" Sanemi looked at the small figure in front of him, still, inside he was hoping she wouldn't let him go so easily, that she would keep him here a little longer.
, Hmm... let me think.." she went through her bag, that she had now on her lap, looking for things she still had to mention before she would let him go. , Ah yes.. here." she handed him a few brochures of Universities, smiling at him. , You should start talking with him about applying to a few Universities. Probably these in particular. They'd fit him really well.''
Sanemi grasped the brochures and went through them, just then he noticed those were high qualified Universities. Even the one he went to himself, was listed as well, which made him feel some kind of pride.
, I hope you have realized that those Universities are popular amongst qualified students." - , I know," he answered as he pointed at his former University. , After all, mine is listed as well." Her eyes widened in surprise as she took a glance at where his finger was pointing at. , Tohoku University?" She was amazed, he could see that right away. The way she just looked at the brochure and her tiny hand that was placed right in front of her mouth.
, Yes indeed, but I don't see why my little brother-" she shushed him without hesitation, suddenly standing up and looking him in the eye. , Mr. Shinazugawa, your brother is a smart and a very skilled person! You should encourage him to go to Tohaku University as well!" this time she wasn't saying it to just sound nice, no it was the other way around. She said it because she actually meant it. She was dead serious about this. , Why... just why do you think he is that great?"
She slowly sat down again, a small smile forming on her lips. , Because he's just as great as his bigger brother." Sanemi was shocked, no not shocked but rather.. surprised, yet, she didn't hesitate to add more to this statement of hers. , Now that I've met you, I can totally see the resemblance. He's just like you and I totally see why he has chosen you as his role model."
He was once again astonished. , Has- has he said that?'' She nods, as she watched him. , Yes he did. He has mentioned you a few times. Fact is, he looks up to you, so I've guessed you must be an amazing brother.''
Part of him was embarrassed and wanted to disappear right away, the other part however was full of pride, thanking his brother for talking so highly about him in front of his teacher. The teacher that left him speechless.
So, sanemi smiled a little, looking away und scratching his neck as he did so. , Guess my brother wants to be a Mathematics major as well, huh.'' She hummed in response as she put away his little brother's folder. , Well... I guess we have talked about everything. Is there anything you want to add, or mention?''  Sanemi started to search for something, but obviously, there was nothing he could think about. She had probably mentioned everything she wanted to talk about and he, well he didn't want to attend the parent's evening, to begin with. So, he sighed and shook his head.
There was nothing, and with that disappointment came. He didn't want to go yet, but he couldn't just possibly stay here and talk to her any longer, let alone ask her out. That would probably seem to be very rude. But little did he know, that she just felt the same.
The sudden silence that lingered between him and her, made both of them nervous and uncomfortable.
, Then... I guess there is no reason for me to hold you back any longer.'' she was the first one to break the silence, and oh god he most definitely didn't want to hear these words. And yet, he played it off cool, getting up and marching towards the door. But before he could even reach the door, she suddenly spoke again, stuttering at the beginning. , M-Mr. Shinazugawa?''
Sanemi turned around, glancing at her. He then realized that she seemed... somewhat nervous. But why?
, I know... this is probably inappropriate to ask... but... would you mind joining me for coffee once..?'' Without even thinking, he answered, I would love to.'' and with that, he smiled at her as he exited the room and leaving the young woman perplexed.
Strolling through the building, he realized that there was a stupid little smile plastered across his face. Oh these feelings, so exotic and wild. He was not used to them, but somewhat liked the thrilling feeling.
Falling for someone wasn't even that bad.

Perhaps Toriel and Alphys interacting?
Gift of Truth
Rating: G Word Count: 1310 Prompt: #23 weight of the world (randomly generated) Read on AO3: here Notes: Pretty sure this was for an art request a long time ago but I never got around to it, so I hope you don't mind that I did a fic instead! (If you even remember sending this ask lol)
---
There was no right way to do this. Alphys had talked herself into and out of it endless times, ever since they reached the surface four months ago.
It was too soon. It was too late. It wouldn’t make a difference. It would make too much of a difference, crush the former queen’s newly healed soul into dust.
Alphys probably would’ve put off the decision forever, but Undyne had started to worry. And everyone knew what happened the last time Alphys had tried to keep a secret of this magnitude. Everyone would’ve been better off if she’d just told the truth about the amalgamates from the beginning, right? So if she told the truth now… even though it was late… it would have to be better than not telling it at all.
Gosh, she hoped it would be better.
Alphys didn’t have to open the lab doors for Toriel. She’d had automatic doors installed in her new lab, just like her old one. It saved her a lot of hassle when she brought armfuls of old parts up from the dump—or, in more recent times, when she hauled new equipment or DVDs in from the nearest electronics store. Just one more incredible thing about the surface.
“My apologies, Alphys. I had to stay late to talk to a parent,” Toriel said as she strolled elegantly to Alphys’s desk. Even in slacks rather than her royal robes, she cut an imposing figure.
“I-it’s fine!” She had just panicked for the past thirty minutes, slowly driving herself insane, but that was about what she deserved for keeping this secret for so long. “I, um, why don’t you sit down?”
Toriel raised an eyebrow.
...Right. There was only one chair. The one Alphys was sitting in.
Alphys hopped up, offering it to Toriel, who now looked more bemused (and maybe a little embarrassed) than anything.
“It is quite alright, Doctor Alphys. I am no longer your queen, nor have I ever been. I apologize if I gave you the impression of expecting such formalities.” She sighed, her gase sweeping across the ground. Her paws folded in front of her. “I should also apologize for how I treated you before. Even if you did terrible things under Asgore’s direction… you were able to heal families wounded beyond repair.”
One paw brushed something off of her pant leg. Alphys would’ve recognized that white-gray goop anywhere.
“You—you met with Snowdrake’s mother,” she realized. Crystal was the only amalgamate who had a school-aged child.
“Yes.” Toriel smiled fondly. “She is a wonderful, sweet woman. She cares for Snowdrake deeply, and has been willing to volunteer at the school any time we need help. Just today she was discussing plans to organize a talent show for the children. She believes it would help Snowdrake—oh, excuse me! I am rambling.”
She chuckled, and Alphys gave a nervous little laugh in response. This was… good? Toriel didn’t hate her? Well, Alphys knew she didn’t hate hate her, because Toriel let Frisk come over and watch anime sometimes, but—well, Toriel had never used her title before. Toriel was the one who revoked the title of “Doctor” in the first place, even if she’d technically lacked the authority to do so. It didn’t really matter, because humans didn’t acknowledge monster degrees anyway.
“What was it that you called me for?” Toriel returned to the point. Her expectant gaze weighed on Alphys like an anvil in one of those ancient human cartoons.
“I-I was just, you know…” Alphys tapped her claws together, but even the rhythmic clicks couldn’t soothe her. Sparks started to fly between her fingers unbidden.
Toriel’s brows lifted in sympathy, and suddenly the weight wasn’t so unbearable.
“Is something bothering you, my—” Toriel cut herself off, but Alphys could guess what she was about to say. My child. It was how she most often addressed Frisk.
“No! I mean, y-yeah, but it’s—it’s my own fault.” Alphys’s claws dug into the back of her hand. The magical sparks finally went out.
Toriel waited patiently. Alphys really did feel like a child, trying to squeeze the words past the tightness in her throat.
“I-it’s about Flowey. I… you should know, he’s…” Alphys swallowed. Best to just rip the bandaid off, metaphorically speaking.
“He’s your son. He’s Asriel.”
Alphys looked up with a wince. She wasn’t sure what expression she expected to find on Toriel’s face. Horror? Confusion? Disbelief?
At first Toriel just looked blank. Slowly, her mouth flattened to a thin line, her fangs jutting out from under her upper lip.
“That… does explain some things.”
“W-what?” Alphys gaped.
“He has always known things I couldn’t explain. My favorite snail recipes. How my oldest human child would fill their water to the brim of their cups. And he is rather averse to the idea of me dating anyone but Asgore, no matter how clear I have made it that we will never get back together.” She gave an affectionate snort.
Alphys forced a grin. Well, there went one folder full of fanfiction. But! Other than that, this was—this was good!
“W-well! Then! Glad you’re, um...”
“Not ‘freaking out’?” Toriel asked.
“Hehe…”
“I certainly am. Freaking out, I mean.” She chuckled. “For all of their similarities, Flowey is also far less… civil, than Asriel used to be. Unless he… well, I suppose I never did truly understand my children.”
Tears leaked from Toriel’s eyes. This time, when Alphys slid the desk chair behind her, she collapsed into it.
“I—I am sorry.” She sniffed. “I am not usually a crier. And truly, this is wonderful news. My child… reunited with me. However you accomplished Flowey’s creation, I must thank you for that.”
Though her eyes were still wet, her smile was sincere.
“I’m still sorry,” Alphys said quietly. “I didn’t know what the determination would do to him. I didn’t know it was a him at all. I was just—trying to break the barrier without hurting anyone. And I… I didn’t know Asriel’s dust was on the flower, on Flowey, and, I-I messed up so bad! Your son doesn’t have a soul, Toriel!”
It was the wrong thing to blurt out, but Toriel took it gracefully.
“I know. He truly has matured despite his condition, has he not?” Her lips curled wryly.
“But—!”
“Doctor Alphys.” Toriel placed a hand on her shoulder. “We all changed while trapped underground. We suffered pains that no one should have to bear. You felt tasked with the same responsibility that my children did—the responsibility of breaking the barrier on your own.”
Alphys’s eyes widened. Toriel knew? Had she seen the videos of Chara and Asriel that Alphys had found? Alphys hadn’t taken them to the surface with her; anything could’ve happened to them. It didn’t seem like Toriel to go through someone else’s things, though… even if they were technically her things.
“I cannot imagine the stress that Asgore placed on you, or that you placed on yourself. You hurt many monsters, truly. But you also healed many. Including my son.”
Tears pricked Toriel’s eyes again, but this time she smiled widely, a bleating laugh escaping her.
“My son is alive!” She exclaimed again, as if just realizing for the first time.
She scooped Alphys up in a hug that threatened to crush her.
“Uh—! T-toriel—!”
Another laugh, and then Toriel set her back down. Alphys’s face was still hot.
“S-so, you, um, forgive me…?” She asked quietly.
“Yes, Doctor. I forgive you, and I thank you.”
With those words, the weight of the world lifted from Alphys’s shoulders.
“Now if you will excuse me, I must be getting home to my children.” Toriel beamed again. “My children! Hee hee!”
Alphys watched the automatic doors slide shut behind Toriel, and she finally allowed a real smile of her own.

Which Mario characters would be, as Watership Down Characters, and vice versa?
You know, I took some time to think about this one today, and I’ve got to admit, for my tastes, I can’t think of a feasible way that this works out. And it’s for a few reasons that kind of get me hung up.
Honestly, I think it comes down to at least four pretty divisive factors that keep them from being compared on an equal scale, and adds a terribly heightened challenge to it all. These would be: gender ratios (A), inconsistent characterizations (B), mismatching personalities ©, and cast prominence (D).
Obviously, it’s a lot to get into, so, I’ll include that in a portion below the cut. If you keep going, I’ll try to properly explain why it’s not just a clear-cut question to answer for this one.
A) First, gender ratios, which can be worked around based solely on personality, but still glares out big time. Watership Down has some female characters on the roster, but they tend to matter little comparatively. Hell, there are multiple characters that started as male that were later swapped to female roles in later adaptations. It’s good, and shows that the role can be played by a character, not a gender. But it’s also a reminder that the original work is dated in its viable female cast. By contrast, Mario has a nice number, and they stand out a lot better, each with unique and distinct roles, personalities, and general flavors that they add. They’re fun and dynamic, a highlight to see.
B) This actually leads into the next point, though, which would be the inconsistent characterizations. Both franchises kind of mess around with how their characters are portrayed and what they do. Sure, you get the basics well enough with the major characters: Hazel’s the brave hero leader, Mario tends to be that too. Fiver’s the timid younger brother, so is Luigi.
But it gets weirder the further down the cast list you go. Bowser’s the big bad guy, but depending on his role as the main villain or not, he can either be sympathized with, or totally evil; he’s maybe just looking for love, or has insatiable desires for conquest. Bigwig is a strong authority figure, but can either be super loyal or a part-time jerk that questions his own leader’s authority. Peach is helpless, or more powerful than she lets on. Hell, Clover took over half of Hyzenthlay’s role in the latest adaptation, and they’re far from the only instance of variable depictions in the series, further depending on the characters that are used. Overall, these changes can make them flexible to develop over time, but it makes them harder to pin down on which role defines them best.
C) And that flexibility also leads to mismatching personalities between the casts of both stories. Because Rosalina first appeared as this quiet, graceful, and yet all powerful entity, we’d picture that side to her, kind of elevating her above the usual human counterparts she’d stand beside, calling into question if she’s even human herself. But she’s later show to have simple joys and pleasures, so she’s not totally detached and above it all. This doesn’t quite equate to any particular character in Watership Down; you could try to make her on par with the Black Rabbit of Inlé, based on powers and ethereal-vibes, but Inlé is too tied with death to be a fair comparison for Rosalina.
Likewise, we have characters from Watership Down known for their stock personality types: Blackberry is the smart one, Strawberry is the big eater, and Hawkbit is the deadpan snarker. None of these particularly hit Mario characters due to their shifts in depictions. Sometimes the big eater is Bowser, sometimes it’s Luigi (yeah). Rosalina seems smart, but Yoshi and Toad have been depicted this way as well. Virtually any one of the Mario cast can fall into sarcasm and dry humor. It’s touch-and-go, but doesn’t give a solid match-up for anyone.
D) Finally, if the mentions above didn’t already make it obvious, then the issue falls to how the casts line up with first themselves, and then one another. The core cast for Mario’s main game franchise tends to fall upon Mario, Peach, Bowser, and typically Luigi to round up the rest, though sometimes he can be left out. Watership Down’s main group would likely be Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig, and General Woundwart. These are more or less the essential characters to have for there to be a story to tell for the franchises.
From there, have fun figuring out who matters and to what level. You can probably safely include higher profile picks for the major characters of each. Mario tends to favor Yoshi, some form of Toad, and generally a rotating female cast member, plus a sidekick villain or a few. Watership Down gets a way better story including the heroism from Hyzenthlay (or a female character that takes on her role for the story), and the undermining plots of whoever gets to be Woundwart’s second-in-command. That could form your secondary main characters.
But it just keeps going from there, and each character is weighted differently. Toad can be an individual and important, but also can get shafted for another more important Toad (Toadette, Toadsworth), or simply suffice as a species, not an individual. Should he be considered main or minor? Dandelion is usually lorekeeper alongside being the fastest, but both of these roles have been divided and distributed to other rabbits (Bluebell and Blackavar respectively), calling into question his prominence. Kehaar tends to always appear, but he can be written around pretty easily. Similarly, Bowser sometimes relies on the Koopalings, but they can also be missing for something close to a decade without the blink of an eye. Who matters, who doesn’t? It depends on the audience, and their interests.
Honestly, I even tried breaking it down for the characters on each level, and I had a list spanning past 20 characters on each side. And I wasn’t even including everyone, but just the characters that I felt were important. Trying to mix and match them was even worse, to the point where it really couldn’t be done on a really fitting level.
Going by canon interpretations for both, I think you’ve got, at best:
Mario = Hazel
Luigi = Fiver
Bowser = General Woundwart
Peach = Hyzenthlay
Yoshi = Bigwig
That’s going by a core cast, with some additions to make sure the major-most of each group gets included. It’s not great either, for several reasons, since Bigwig and Yoshi do not have comparable personalities, but are both strong. Bowser’s also got redeeming qualities to him that actually earn him some sympathy points, whereas Woundwart…well, I think writers have tried, but he’s best as irredeemable and blatantly evil.
Personally, if I were to go maybe one extra level and include Daisy for main cast on the Mario side, I’d fit her to Bigwig, and instead equate Yoshi to Dandelion, as both of the latter two are known for speed, while the former two can be tough, but also caring as well. But I don’t feel that Dandelion and Daisy are as important to their franchises, whereas one could argue a little harder for Yoshi, and Bigwig is easily important to the story.
I even tried going on my fanfic interpretations (of at least the Mario characters) to see if that would line up better, but then that just screws up where the main villain connects. Because, that would instead look like:
Mario/Luigi = Hazel/Fiver
Bowser = Bigwig
Peach? = Hyzenthlay?
??? = General Woundwart
Because, based on how I’ve written them so far, Bowser’s even less of an evil force, and more motivated based on his heart and his people. This makes no one particularly equal to Woundwart. Conversely, Peach is a lot, well…she’s hardened. If one were to go by Hyzenthlay’s depiction in the Netflix miniseries, I’d wager that’s good enough. But this splits who Hyzenthlay is, so the character doesn’t quite feel whole. Oh, and Mario tends to be leader-like, but also has weird powers and visions going on, which helps Luigi step up into his role in his absence, so…they both have shades of Hazel and Fiver’s roles.
Furthermore, I get lost in my own biased interpretations of the fanfic I’m never writing for Watership Down, so that would make going down the rabbit hole a lot more terrifying. Well, for you reading this, anyway; I’d be thrilled to keep it going and gush about personalities in my head for the WD cast, lol.
So, that’s kind of how it goes in my mind. Yes, I’m positive there’s enough flexibility to go down each list and match up characters based on as much as possible for each side of them, or by ignoring some things. Mixing some canons together, you could get:
Mario = Hazel
Luigi = Fiver
Peach = Hyzenthlay
Daisy = Bigwig
Bowser = General Woundwart
Kamek = Vervain/Orchis/Whoever the schemer to Woundwart is
Yoshi = Kehaar
Toad = Pipkin/Bluebell
Toadette = Clover
Wario = Strawberry
Waluigi = Cowslip
Bowser Jr = Campion
Rosalina = Dandelion
Here, not only do these feel weirdly off when you look further into those characters, but it doesn’t really cover them properly, nor does it pick the best from the rosters of each. Yoshi’s kind of the foreign type to the core cast, so he connects well enough with Kehaar. This, however, chooses to ignore his famous speed that aligns him best with Dandelion, which instead relates his storytelling to Rosalina, because both tell stories, but that’s where their similarities end. We also choose to ignore Yoshi’s big appetite, which would connect best to Strawberry, putting the much less important Wario up to that role.
Similarly, this also confuses the interpretations on certain Watership Down characters based on how they’re depicted, and then sort of picks a Mario character that might connect. The easier one is Woundwart’s right hand scheming little twerp, which has been both Vervain and Orchis in the tv series and miniseries respectively. They work in a role similar to Kamek, a dutiful but terrified henchman.
It gets worse, though, when we hit something like Pipkin or Bluebell, as the latter was absent from the tv series, the former from the miniseries, and though both have some childish innocence to them, neither personality ends here for either. Toad, when he’s fleshed out as a standalone character, probably could be seen as innocent and childish, but I doubt he’s alone, and also has roles that elevate his mindset, which doesn’t quite make him on that same level.
Not to mention that some just don’t outright fit (Junior to Campion), but going that far along, that’s about all that works out well enough for characters that can be argued for their prominence.
Bottom line would be that, while I totally love both franchises and would like to put them on a equal level for comparisons, it doesn’t do either one justice.
All the same, thank you for the interest and the ask! It was fun thinking it over.

Even after this movie i see people either saying that reylo is finished now or just straight up denying that their force bond had romantic coding in it and im just like ??? I have no clue where theyre gonna go from here but i wouldnt say the ending is a nail in the coffin. Theyve established kylo as the main antagonist now but i dont think redemption is out of the realm. People forget vader wasnt redeemed till the last possible second i guess lol. Nothings impossible
The ending is the opposite of a nail in the coffin.
We should be more worried if Rey and Kylo had ended TLJ on a high note (such as defecting together, which was often misconstrued by the reylo fandom as a sufficiently “bleak” ending for the second act of the trilogy… but it’s not. It’s not bleak, because we are supposed to root for Rey and Kylo, not dread their union. So them defecting together would be a high point, which of course is why we’re getting the opposite of that).
There’s going to be a whole movie after TLJ, a movie that will subvert the status quo and change the dynamics again, just as TLJ did with TFA. As others put it, saying that Reylo is over is just as stupid as saying that Han/Leia was over at the end of Empire because Han was stuck in carbonite. Stupid and ignorant of how storytelling works. Storytelling is based on cycles of ups and downs. If the story sinks and reaches the bottom, the only direction it can go in the next installment is up. And viceversa (this is why TFA destroyed the original trilogy’s happy ending. It had to).
Antis are going to desperately cling to the idea that TLJ was written to “deal” with Reylo, as in “sink” it and move on (presumably reverting to less compelling dynamics like f nnr y and d am r  ey). Not only they seem to think that dropping the central dynamic between the hero and the villain would be good storytelling, they’re still willfully blind to the fact that The Force Awakens established Reylo in the first place—-Rian Johnson didn’t “come up with Reylo” from nowhere. The Last Jedi developed the first part of a central relationship whose seeds were CLEARLY planted in the first chapter of the trilogy. (People need to realize that the films of this trilogy are following a basic structure that was conceived YEARS ago—otherwise it wouldn’t be possible for JJ Abrams to pitch the script for IX when VIII has been barely released, and for Rian to be writing the script for TLJ while TFA WAS STILL BEING FILMED.)So we have:
first movie: set up. Rey and Kylo are introduced, the major conflict between them is created, the seed for a future attraction is planted, while the two are developed as individual characters because they’re complete strangers to the audience and the audience needs to learn who they are, see them as people. So we have Kylo dealing with San Tekka, Snoke, Hux, and Han while Rey develops a great friendship with Finn and finds a surrogate father in Han. Because it’s important that we see Kylo and Rey as full fledged people independently of their interactions, in order to make their actual interactions great;
second movie: development. the dynamic, so far only suggested / subtextual, becomes finally text. We’re doing the enemies to friends at this stage, but with more than a spark of romantic, even sexual tension. Basically, it’s the dynamic of our dreams, the way anidala should have been done, the way EVERYTHING should be done. And then it comes to a brutal halt. Because THAT’S WHAT YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR AUDIENCE HOOKED. Literally every good fanfic author knows this! The heart of this dynamic is the tension between opposites, between good and evil, damnation and redemption, compassion and hatred. To keep that tension alive and sizzling, we’re temporary reverting to the /mutual hatred/ stage, which is what left us wanting more at the end of TFA. Except a) it’s different now because they tasted each other (they really did, even if just metaphorically), and b) the audience is now more hooked than ever, thanks to this beautiful thing named Force Bond that is still alive even though they broke up in the worst possible way and to a fight scene that was basically a Giant Sexual Metaphor.
and that’s already 2/3 of the trilogy. That’s a LOT of narrative capital invested in these two, and it became EVIDENT in TLJ but, again, it was already there in TFA. There’s no way IX isn’t going to deliver more development and a resolution. Their outrageous break up in TLJ is not a resolution, because so much between then remains unresolved. The Force Bond. Their mutual thirst attraction. The visions they had of each other. The reason why the Force keeps binding them (it was always the Force, Snoke be damned. Their bond was born during the interrogation, and they created by penetrating each other’s mind at the same time). The fact that Rey almost succeeded where everyone failed (as acknowledged by Luke, eventually). THEIR LAST SCENE. Do you know when in horror movies you get a happy ending and it’s almost too good and then when peace seems to be restored, you realize that the demon only faked its death and IT TAKES YOU? That’s Reylo at the end of the movie.
What Rian did, his vision, was making sure that at the end of the central movie Kylo would be his own master, in charge and being able to make independent decisions (and also: fully, unambiguously responsible for his actions), while ALSO having a complex relationship with our hero, Rey, one that isn’t simply hatred and antagonism (x). That’s a lot to unpack for JJ, admittedly, but it’s also explosive material; it makes Kylo’s redemption both harder to achieve (with Snoke out of the picture, there will probably be no “redemption by destroying a greater evil” cop out. There’s no ~~greater evil~~ than Kylo now, and while this definitely makes me anxious and confused, I also have faith in the story because the people who are writing it are FAR BETTER STORYTELLERS THAN ME), and potentially more convincing (whatever good Kylo starts doing from this point on, it will be his doing, and a free choice, not a reaction against his former abuser, not a way to seek agency for himself—not that those things aren’t good, but they aren’t necessarily redemptive in the truest sense, which is often the objection you have to most villains’ redemption arcs).
In short: it’s always darkest before the dawn, and a huge franchise like Star Wars doesn’t drop the central dynamic between the hero and the villain like a sack of potatoes, especially as it has been made clear over and over again how much of a protagonist—though a villainous one—Kylo Ren is.
Seriously, they’ve invested too much (money, narrative capital) in him and in this relationship with Rey, and they wouldn’t be backpedaling even if the audience and the critics alike weren’t head over heels over this dynamic and literally screaming from every media outlet how HOT their interactions were, lol. This story has already been written.

It’s done! I’ve read every single issue with Harley and Joker in it. Now, an article: Comics: Harley, Joker and abuse 2.0 *improved*
Friend: T_T Everybody on internet says I’m sick because I ship JxHQ
me: Let me explain the mess : ) book by book >.<
what’s mainstream and continuity? click here
If you want to know what N52 is click here
Friend: Why are people always talking about Snyder’s Joker or Morrison’s, etc?
Me: DC made it sure that the sacred continuity of the mainstream was kept, each writer had to work based on what his predecessors wrote but writers had different interpretations of the character so the characterization was different.
So sometimes we have an absolutely violent Joker, sometimes He’s a smart guy who tries to seem dumb or a man so crazy that couldn’t avoid the police.
Why Am I explaining this? because you have to understand that Joker at the time Harley was introduced in comic world was extremely violent and sadist. He spent the half of his time killing his own men. He wasn’t the character we knew in the tv show. Comic world is more raw, crude and bloody. Of course Harley changes her personality many times it depends on who wrote it.
Harley was written like Joker’s girlfriend in the series, now if you’re not familiar with batman comics that’s the most logic development but otherwise you understand that was a bold move cause Joker existed during 50 years before someone gave him a girlfriend but even more, he didn’t have a brother, a father, sons or a sidekick, nothing at all* and today someway we have big pictures of him kissing a girl and people pay for them LOL.
Harley was a new phase for Joker as a character cause she gives to him humanity what is good or bad, good if you want a more complete character, bad if you’re trying to use the cruelest, the grosser and the most important batman’s enemy to be creepy.
Batman - Harley Quinn (august, 1999. by Paul Dini): The canon origin for Harley in the mainstream (Mad love is from tv/ Batman the animated series continuity). They didn’t use the thing of abuse, no, they had an idea to keep it weird and dysfunctional: He tries to kill her and they had a twisted reason, It’s cause he loves her alike but different entirely to abuse. This was the strategy of the comics and was reflected everywhere
Comic Harley Quinn (2000-2004), comic Batman adventures (Tv continuity), comic batman, etc at least until 2007 BUT we have a couple of exceptions.
This picture by Guillen March (many batman comics) is a good brief of that tendency:
Tumblr media
Mainstream:
-The code: Batman #570 (oct, 1999. part 1), Detective comics #737 (oct, 1999. part 2). This is what I was talking about batman and detective comics are combined though the numbers aren’t corresponding. It’s because the magazine detective comics began first. The story called “the code” was one of the most tender, funny stories. No trace of abuse.
Joker: It’s ok to call me Puddin’.
Some pages here
-Legends of the dark knight #126, detective comics #740 (both feb. 2000) by Gregg Rucka: you have to read them combined.  I think this was the most abusive you can find in comics and the next one of course. There isn’t anything implied you can see it and its very bad. Please notice the date, it was written almost at the same time that the fluffy “the code”
-Batman #573, shadow of the bat #93 (both jan, 2000) by Gregg Rucka: The majority of the images really showing abuse are from this one and the former.
Why the difference? The writers, whenever Gregg Rucka is the author Joker is abusive cause Rucka uses Harley like a sidekick no really his girlfriend and this writer’s Joker is every second shooting someone. BTW Rucka has said he didn’t like Joker and he wanted to kill him but DC didn’t let him.
Wait…what about “suicide squad”? Just now we aren’t talking about N52 universe (since 2011). Maybe you don’t know what’s that so we’ll cover it later.
-Harley Quinn (2000-2004 and Linked to Mainstream): They used the matter or Joker trying to kill her, no real abuse here and she tries to kill him too as revenge. This comic is important because after many of its ideas were applied in other comics (specially N52). In fact they created a development of character where she reached a kind of equality with Joker, maybe the first time they used a development of the subject in the world of comics but there wasn’t abuse.
well…in the episode 1 he hit her and kicked her but a)- This Harley is so strong could carry him in arms :S  and she did so :D b)- She threw him into a big neon sign for doing so.
After a second writer in HQ made up one of my favorite JokerHarley stories, and very funny. pages here.
-Batman adventures/Gotham adventures (1992-2004): The comic is directly linked to the cartoon, there’s not abuse at all they usually show their relationship as something funny and cute but they made some references after 1999 that I want to explain.
Gotham adventures #10 (march, 1999) and #14: One of my favorites stories because it was hilarious but shows a twisted but sweet relationship. They fight each other but writers tried to make it in both ways =_= yes, that was their solution
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Curiously she didn’t mention that time he threw her through a window so no reference to mad love but the strange answer of Joker is a reference to the origin in the mainstream because if he wanted to kill her that was a sign he loved her O_O  Whatever, at the end she forgave him, just the reader could see he missed her but he wrote this on a photo.
“Harley baby, love you forever.” Link to see the picture
As result “Batman Adventures” is a continuity with the storyline of the TV show but without Mad Love.
A proof supports this opinion is “Harley Quinn and Batman #1″ (July, 2017) by Templeton, main writer in Adventures, the comic is new but with this panel here the writer was reminding us the state of the things in Adventures.
-The Joker - last laugh (oct, 2001): special, limited series. Joker thought he was going to die. Very cute story in that regard. here The last laugh
-Gotham Girls (dec. 2002): Special limited series 5 issues, really good but coming to business, at first glance it seems (because of the design and story) it happened in the continuity of Batman Adventures but there’s a trick. Gotham Girls wasn’t created as another chapter in Batman Adventures, but it is a comic sequel/adaptation of a series of animated shorts written by Paul Dini with the same name.
The series by Dini didn’t have references to Mad Love but the adaptation by Paul Storrie did have them.
The vol 3. shows harley’s story as in Mad Love, abuse included, they used some panels extracted from there.
Tumblr media
-Harley and Ivy (2004): No real references. Limited series by Paul Dini
-Batman confidential (2007): Madmen and Lovers: Confidential has its own continuity and my favorite origin story, just fluff here.
https://timespacehigurashi.tumblr.com/post/126947551376/batman-confidential-episode-7-joker-and-harley
Mainstream:
-batman 663 (mar, 2007) by Grant Morrison: his style is absolutely different and he did a strange mess but his Joker wasn’t abusive, he was totally crazy and murderous, I meant MORE, and Harley worshipped him almost literally o.O but here they said clearly “he cared about her” and at the same time harley shot him down xD.
If you want to know more about Batman #663 here. It’s a comparison with its variant in N52 but just read the 663 part to get what happened.
-Detective comics 831 “kind of like family” (Dini, jun, 2007): Good story, no real mention of abuse, no exactly…but here Harley had made her mind about don’t be involved with him again and was reformed. A new character, the second ventriloquist, appeared and she is supposed to have a bad relationship with scarface that is her other personality…It doesn’t make sense…forget it. It’s a long talk and Dini himself “erased” it with his next work.
If you don’t read comics skip this (About Dini, Morrison and logic):
In first place this episode is dated jun, 2007 and 663 (Morrison’s) was in march, it’s confusing because the last time we saw Harley (2004 ending of “Harley Quinn”) she was in arkham and paul dini began from there writing a story about her getting out of Arkham and reformed (”kind of family” in June) BUT Morrison used the character BEFORE, in March and in Morrison’s she’s far away from sanity just a couple months of difference :-/ (*cough* continuity staggering *cough*)
It’s more or less that Dini ignored Morrison xD Well, in the continuity after a while when we saw Joker again he was his normal himself like nothing occurred (his face wasn’t damaged like It was in batman # 663) so everybody ignored Morrison and then DC tried to explain it saying what was writen after #663 corresponds to BEFORE in the time xDD (If somebody thinks I’m wrong expose it to me please.)  and BTW It’s impossible since a reference was made about this chapter (663) in Gotham sirens (2009), in other words Batman #663 by Morrison can’t be the future cause Gotham Sirens calles it the past.
-Detective comic 837 (Dini. oct. 2007): she’s living adventures, no comments
Then the order in the general story for Harley according to the mainstream is this:
Tumblr media
-Gotham sirens (2009-2011) by Paul Dini (just first 11 issues minus the #8): In sirens this is a weird topic and long to explain. There’s one reference, a comment of P.I and selina, chapter 1.
selina :“he’ll be calling for your money the second he hears about it”
Ivy: “then you’ll be skipping out the door for another round of abuse, humiliation and regret”
This is a reference to the dynamic in “Harley and Ivy” the episode in the tv show where joker took adventage of her for her money, one could think when they said abuse, they were talking about brutality like mad love but it results that Dini likes to use “abuse” meaning distinct things in distinct works. o.O
In Sirens by Dini “abuse” is not what appeared in Mad Love but something slighter… more like He’s a jerk kind of thing.
Understanding this is a little difficult if you don’t follow Dini’s work but Sirens itself helps you providing some context
The ending of the chapter 6 is a second reference to “Harley and Ivy”. Both, the ending of the episode and the comic handled the matter lightly, treating it with humor,
In the original episode Harley isn’t an beaten wife but  the object of her love is inconsiderate and he wanted to steal her money too. Ivy called her a doormat.
So Selina and Ivy meant he takes advantage of her, however Sirens established Joker does care about her at the same time, in the chapter 5 Ivy said this:
Tumblr media
Chapter 2 showed this one  here.
More context: Dini made up a background for Harley’s family was never written before. While Mad Love was tragic and the story of the downfall of a girl who would have been somebody Sirens is optimistic. Her family was so a disaster  that she’s happy with her new life and identity. It isn’t dark, they’re just disagreeable people.
Harley has daddy issues, no, seriously! Her father is …Joker.
Tumblr media
Her father is a swindler who takes advantage of women and get their money :O So Harley is used to deal with liers on a daily basis and her family’s used to have relatives in jail. here
The writer is trying to compare her father with Joker, and her old life with her new criminal identity, saying “It isn’t so bad”. From Harley’s point of view at least Joker is a man of one woman and he doesn’t have kids from several mothers like Harley’s brother. For Dini usually the little domestic sins like infidelity are the worst.
Again another writer that is very different wrote the last arc of Sirens though sometimes wrongly attribuited to Dini. His story it’s darker and ignored the previous chapters, this time Ivy changed lines and said “he doesn’t love you” (chapter 24). Harley said “after all the abuse, betrayal and dirty tricks” (chapter 19) but they keep comparing harley/joker to Selina/batman and being kind of romantic. So what was that? : / What we saw after wasn’t an abusive relationship (He even called her Ms. Q once), they were a team but they were together doing horrible things, I mean, the guy was very nice and all but he was stabbing  orderlies. Here the reason Harley must not be with him is simpler, cause he does evil things :O
Some pages here here
And then again the weirdest twist in the final 2 chapters (2011) Ivy explained how Harley is very sick and they carried her obsession to proportions weren’t seen since her origin in 1999…ok, maybe Morrison’s Harley in 2007 maybe not.
Extra but canon too :-/
-Countdown to Final crisis (Dini, 2007-2008): Ultra crossover and a temporary event that stopped the normal progress of the continuity for a long while, maybe my least favorite story by Paul Dini (he was the main writer, like a director). Here…well…Harley became an amazon (you know, like wonderwoman. XP -_- ) because…she was reformed…no abuse here or signs of it are mentioned. (If you know of something just say it).
-Crossovers/several universes: Usually just fluffy things I haven’t found some abusive story in them but yes, there’re a one or two really creepy. Interestingly I don’t know about any universe where Harley is a boy but Joker was a girl 2 or 3 times O.o and always in love with another version of Harley…I guess AUs are fanservice XP.
-Batman Strikes! (2005): Linked to the cartoon “The Batman”, fluffy and cartoonish.
Well, that was PRE-N52…
Game based comic weren’t included cause those have their own continuity that isn’t accurate in regard to the games and the relationship is different between one and another
conclusion
Because of the amount of writers the relationship is never exactly the same and in the majority of the cases isn’t abusive besides being realistic one writer could have written the characters and their relationship different in different occasions  (that’s why you can find interviews where they say it’s abusive and he doesn’t care for her and then another where they say how much he loves her) and It’s not really possible put together all what was written and saying it’s the same character always (Joker changes and Harley too) sooo that’s why you don’t hate women if you ship it, thanks. :D
My God, I think I’ve read every single issue with harley and Joker but who knows there’re so many. @_.@
Perhaps I’ll write another article for N52, We’ll see.
If you have a question, just ask.
Although this is an article about Harley’s origin in N52 comparing it with Mad Love.

SNK OC profile (this is hella long, let me tell you now)
Thanks to @misa-misa-chi for giving me the link for this template: https://alicecantbestopped.deviantart.com/art/Attack-On-Titan-Blank-OC-Sheet-400915409.
It’s mad detailed and kinda forces you to think hard about who your oc is (kinda). So here’s mine-it’s by no means complete but whilst giving away as little as possible, i think there’s enough to get an idea about Nina’s character:
Name: Nina Were Meaning: Strong, graceful dreamer (not much of one, tho) Age: Almost 20 Gender: Female Birthday: 17th May Birthplace: Base metropolis, somewhere in the southern region of the Alpha-continent. Relationship Status: Single af (she is not good at relationships) Language(s) spoken: au variations of eight European languages, few words of au Japanese and her own native tongue Life-Long Dream: To build a plane and fly off the continent/ around the world Goal(s): Stay alive and get out Like(s): Sleeping, flying, milk, horses, machinery, rain and water in general           Dislike(s): Secrecy/ Deceit, Liars, people who don’t value what they have, the cold, arrogance, black tea, unneeded self-exertion, being talked down to, being touched,                                                                                                            Bad Habit(s): Endless sleeping, eating without chewing, skiving, tunes out a lot, will ignore you completely if she becomes mentally preoccupied/she thinks you’re talking rubbish, chews and gnaws on things to ward off hunger (even when there’s no need), walking around barefoot, popping her joints in and out. Hobbies: tinkering, drawing, cloud-watching, agriculture Fear(s): not knowing what’s going on, people suffering because of her, weakness Personality: (ISTP) seems quiet and unassuming but is in reality brash and upbeat. She can be very blunt and untactful but has an uncanny understanding of people once she gets talking with them. Is actually quite thoughtful and can pick up on true intentions and character very quickly. Has a quick and terrible temper-has a very short fuse except with people she knows well. Even though she gets on with most, she isn’t particularly sociable and keeps to herself mostly. Highly independent and doesn’t respond well to authority-doesn’t like following orders without good reason. Very impulsive, entirely self-driven and can be hard-headed. Is neither a team-player nor a leader-wouldn’t call her a lone wolf either. She’s like a delinquent? Prone to being wild and takes crazy risks. Cannot turn down a challenge. She relies heavily on her own instincts but will listen to and evaluate advice for herself if she thinks the giver has good enough wits. Surprisingly cynical and in rare moments is a real downer-slightly pessimistic.

Abilities/Statistics (1- lowly skilled, 10- highly skilled and tell why) This is going to be hard-Nina’s performance really doesn’t fit into categories this easily. It also depends if she’s using her sword or using the standard two blades of the 3Dmg 3D Manoeuvring Gear: 8 once she got the hang of it Intelligence: 8-she has high awareness and knows what needs to be done almost instantly but often doesn’t use everything she gleans from a situation. Also doesn’t think of the bigger picture until a bit later. In terms of book work-if she wants to get something, she won’t stop until she’s an expert in that field. Not a classroom learner and isn’t bookish Martial Arts: 9-weak points are like magnets to her and she exploits the hell out of them. Fighting style is similar to Capoeira and good old street brawl. she tires easily though and aims to end fights quickly. Battle Skill: 10-she was top pre-combatant back home (I would say more but spoilers). Excels at ground and internal combat.(this is when using her sword-she is much less proficient with two, smaller blades about a 7) Agility: 8-10 (in terms of flexibility it’s gold, reflexes are sharp too) Strategy: 5-8 depending on her mind-set in the moment. Teamwork: 1 atm (she is awful, absolutely terrible with teamwork-been like this from childhood. I don’t know how to describe this-it isn’t arrogance or just foolhardiness-she’s really that impulsive and can’t think outside her own field of combat- it’s just a part of who she is.) Passion: this can be rock-bottom or 7ish- again depends on her motivation at the time. (she’s not passionate persay-dealing with titans is very matter of fact to her-get rid of them so you can get out) Affiliation: hmm…I sense spoilers Former Affiliation: Base Hunter Status (Alive, Missing, etc.): She alive
