Well, I wanna be working on a novel right now, but apparently it's time to make a certain kind of post again, as is periodically necessary, because young queer folk keep trying to reinvent the Hayes Code for a variety of misguided reasons. So you know what? Let me lead with the TLDR, and then give my reasoning. If you DNI stuff like incest, I am not just going to unfollow you, I am going to block you.

Now, if you're the type to make assumptions, you might be surprised to hear that I'm not into incest. Sorry to disappoint. Well, unless you count selfcest, but people don't usually lump those together except by technicality. But incest is really not my thing.

That said, I have mutuals who are into it, and harmless about it. Whether it's fictional, RP, or consensual, it's not my business and it hurts nobody. Get used to those words, they're gonna be a mantra here. Further, I've seen how Hayes Queers (hey, I needed a term for them) talk about harmless members of their own community who give them The Ick. The post I'm writing here is a direct reaction to seeing a Hayes Queer post from someone I followed! Reading that, and the comments on it. And lemme tell you: y'all are very quick to throw your peers under the bus with the exact same logic (respectability politics, personal disgust, "making a bad name for us as a larger group", lurking threat to our moral purity) that the conservatives are using to argue for the mass extermination of queer folk. You are bringing pitchforks and tiki torches to the party. So no, I am not going to give you access to my vulnerable mutuals. That's the heart of it. You are a danger to your community, and I'm going to limit the scope of harm you can do. The broader queer/kink communities have worked hard to define harm more carefully than "well I just personally think it's gross." Scat and piss are gross to me, but my mutuals who are into those things do still deserve love and safety, not to be sacrificed on an altar of conservative family values for imaginary "one of the good ones" points. I have a responsibility to look out for my people. So do you, FYI.

So here's the recipe for living online with people whose kinks aren't your business and hurt nobody: learn to scroll past those posts or block those tags, or even block that person. Be an adult. The world does not exist to be personally palatable to you. You are not being harmed, you're being inconvenienced. If you can't handle that, you're the one bringing real-world (rather than imagined) danger to your community. Fuck's sake.

This also finally convinced me to look up what "proshipper" means after seeing it in discourse for years, these dreaded dangerous devils who apparently must be purged from the internet, and... holy fuck, how is this contentious? It literally just means you can disagree about fandom pairings without harassing people? That's just mature behavior in a shared space. That's what the argument is about? Oh my god. If you're arguing about this in 2024, your Aunt Maddie is fully ashamed of you for real.

The dumbest part is that people get doxxed for saying the stuff I'm saying, and maybe it'll happen to me. Guess I'll roll the dice. Which comes full circle: if you're looking at this post and trying to decide how to punish me for it IRL, you are literally being the danger. Stop and think for 30 milliseconds. Maybe I have a point that you are a bigger threat than two trans girls who like to pretend to be sisters for sex reasons. And I don't wanna hear no trauma excuses from any of you little monkeys, fetishes come from trauma a decent percentage of the time, so a lot of the people you're persecuting are victims of the same kind of assault as you.

i am RIPPING the microphone out of your hand and marching up to the front of the stage to tell everyone about the brainworms. none of you will be spared. this is what you have wrought. you've let the world ending princess out of the basement now.

but also. massive Slay The Princess spoilers below. seriously, this is gonna spoil the whole deal of what the Princess actually is, and it's really the sort of game you should go into reasonably blind, you won't regret it. It's hot among indie horror let's players atm I think, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a playthrough.

But then again I'm not your dad so just know you've been warned.

first of all: the princess' final form/The Shifting Mound takes cues from the iconography of hindu deities, or at least seems to. if the reference was unintentional I'll be genuinely surprised (this isn't an accusation of appropriation or anything - Hinduism isn't a closed religion, and I actually think the reference fits with the Shifting Mound and the princess' many forms' whole situation, so it's just a cool detail). it will be informing my inner picture of eden's true form during their "glory days" (before plague and giving up the Keystone and most of their power) from now on.

but the whole deal of like... the princess (and the many forms she can take) being the fragmented essence of a deity of change who was feared because she also represents death is like holy cow! edencore! they're essentially a deity with a fragmented memory, a multifaceted domain, and diminished existence! they don't represent chaos but nature can be kinda similar, in themes if not aesthetics. and especially like... in the fear of something ultimately natural, like death. and how that fear isn't unfounded or unreasonably, but when taken too far, it inflicts disaster on the world.

eden too is a shapeshifter. mostly in that they have animal forms, but i think emotionally, they're a mimic - and that's the source of a lot of their apparent volatility. if someone's kind to them, they'll be downright magnanimous right back. if someone antagonizes them, they'll be bitchy in turn and they won't be the one to de-escalate or stop holding the feud first. that tbh. that sort of thing is the driving force behind The Princess' shifting forms imo. she is a creature of perception, you are what you make her, but I find she responds in kind to whatever you, the protagonist, do. if you imprison her, she seeks to imprison you. if you betray her, she'll betray you when you're the one with the exposed back. but if you love her, she'll love you back. cuts both ways.

also like... the world the game takes place in. the construct. i kind of want to make something like that as like, a dream of eden or another powerful figure? maybe one of the Devatas' past schemes to get Eden away from The Verdant Haven permanently was to trap them in that sort of dream realm, a forever-repeating, mutating, airtight story-realm. obviously that didn't work. this is where the brainworms are taking me in terms of setting and backstory design.

and also... this isn't about main verse eden. in fact, it's about their original verse, a soulslike-inspired hindu mythology-based setting where Eden was the dying, comatose god who all plant life depended on, and Vayu/Yuya was the protagonist trying to revive them. And I made this years, before I ever knew about Slay The Princess, but by sheer coincidence, Yuya <--> Eden what the protagonist <--> The Princess in slay the princess in terms of metaphysics: separated fragments of the same whole. someone who reccomended the game to me actually said after I played it and rambled at him that he partly reccomended it to me because it reminded him of vayuden a little. and man. that made me ecstatic.

Yes. Because to be a full fledged character she needs to have outward influences from before she met Jack and before she had Tim. I want to make her more than just what’s written on her tombstone. She was once also a daughter, a sister, a hero (not in the dc way but more like in the normal way) and a friend. You can’t make her those things if she doesn’t have other people as well.

Where are we in the plot right now?

After escaping her captors, she, Owens, and Z are trying to make it back to Gotham without any of their previous contacts. Meaning theyre starting from the ground up. She has just learned of her death, her husband, and her son.

how do you allow yourself to write without becoming depressed by the whole process?

Hopefully my answer will be enough, but if you need to ask follow-up questions man, by all means, feel free.

When it comes to writing for RP, I don't get depressed by the whole process because I love it. I really, really love it. I may be ungodly slow, and definitely try my partners' patience when it comes to that, but I love it. I love reading people's replies, love writing my own. I love reading other threads that have nothing to do with me. I love reading other people's headcanons. Or when a crazy magic!Anon happens, like when Lucid ( @brokendreamscreation ) was turned human and just landed splat into the forests of the Pacific Northwest, I adore trying to keep up on that. I often can't, just because I am too busy during the day, but whenever I catch a glimpse? It's wonderful. Or, although they're someone who is pretty busy with university, when @aroyaltailor pops on and mentions something about their muse, it makes my day.

RP is about the writing for me, but also a lot about the people. I just really like seeing people happy, being part of their fun, even if a lot of the time I am just the audience cheering them on. There's nothing depressing about that to me. The hardest part, what does make me sad, is trying to choose well when it comes to mutuals. I want to follow everyone back, but know that I can't. If I can tell that we're not going to mesh because of differences in rules, or if someone just swamps the dash with endless content that's going to make it way too hard for me to see other people's posts (nothing wrong with that! it's just a difference in styles and priorities), I have to regretfully just not follow, or not follow back. I always feel like an asshole for that, not gonna lie, especially when they have already followed me. I'm not mutuals-only though, so in theory if someone wanted to write together and we weren't mutuals? I would absolutely be on board.

Writing doesn't depress me because coming here, even when it is hard, is an escape, a happy place. I was depressed the other day when I couldn't make sentences make sense--they all felt so slippery--but that was the fresh concussion messing with me, causing its own depression, not something resulting from the writing process. But even with that? I am so lucky, so fucking lucky, to be blessed with just the kindest damn mutuals, who have been so supportive and sweet even when I was feeling useless because of the concussion. There are some really special people to me, who even when they are posting with someone else entirely, just seeing them pop up on the dash gives me that little spark of joy that nothing can snuff out, like @botanikos and @visage-of-hell. There are people who know their muses backwards and forwards, who manage to take characters that a lot of the fandom sometimes seem to ignore, like @moxxietude who has just absolutely taken Moxxie and breathed so much life into him, and who could definitely convince me she was part of Viv's team if she chose to, her writing is that solid, that incredible. I just, like?? Fuck, man. And @poisonedspider is a fucking babe--Strode you're magnificent, don't fight me on this--and @infxnatum is one of those unsung heroes of the RPC, who will always go out of his way to send people messages, even when he doesn't get love in return. I feel like somehow, I landed in the best fandom of all, surrounded by the best people? And like I'm being a monster for not @'ing everyone, I am so, so sorry. I know the natural inclination is to feel left out but please, please, I love you fuckers, don't feel left out, I am just rambling so much and realize I need to end this. And just. Yes.

So, TL;DR?

It doesn't depress me because I am surrounded by the most wonderfully uplifting people, and I will do fucking anything for this fandom, I adore you guys.

And if you meant writing as in the writing I do for work--I am really lucky in that the majority of my content is queer, so I get to roll around in feelings and love for my own community. There are occasional non-queer things, like a short story here or there, or a random zoom lecture I was paid to give, or contract pieces--usually articles, always under dry af NDA contracts--that kind of suck sometimes, but being able to produce content for my community gets me through the hard times <3

(Also, I fight with depression constantly, so writing doesn't need to serve depression up to me. We're bros by now, and constantly knocking each other around).

[Feat me kind of ranting below, talking about discourse and comparing roleplaying in Minecraft with your usual roleplaying in GTA since it's the topic of my fanart, even though noone asked for it and I'm not even trying to spark a discussion i just need to get it off my chest]

But I have to be honest : for the past two months I've been pondering whether or not I should publicly share any fanart of the kind because I didn't know if I wanted to be associated with the fandom Which like don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the fan content that's being shared around, I am geniunely impressed- I mean dude look at my main account, look at this mess, look how much qsmp I'm reblogging I am as obssessed as you are But I'm talking about the "you know " part of the fandom The "I have been part of the Warrior Cats fandom for 10 years and this hits a new low in terms of cyber harrassment being done in the name of fiction" kind

Also also the other thing that makes me unconfortable is that, back in my GTA RP days, the line between the characters and the streamer/content creator is clear, it's a wall, they are absolutely not the same. I've had times where I would follow the VODs of one character and it took me a whole year to figure out what the CC looked and sounded like. Because when in roleplay the character and the CC don't share the same name, or voice, or personality, or opinions, or background. Streaming with a webcam showing the CC's face is uncommon during rp scenes, some of them don't even interact with their chats, metagaming/OORP is a(n even) big(ger) no-no. Like you can't even say that your game is lagging, instead you say that your character has got a headache or else it would break the immersion of the roleplay And I get that there are pros and cons between those differences, the players feels more at ease when it's less strict rp (imagine having to mute your mic when laughing for the sake of the immersion of the other players, that's some GTA RP rules for you)

But my biggest con imo is the line being so blurry between the character and the CC. Not the CCs' fault oviously, but it doesn't help that some people would take it too seriously and too far and merge the character and the person behind the screen into the same entity. Which they aren't.

Followers Promotion/Appreciation Because I Can

I've had a hell of a time on Tumblr in these past...12 to 13 years I think? I've been through my share of ups and downs, learned a lot about writing and also about myself and my mental health as a person and a writer. I've had my share of bad experiences with this hellsite, I've lost some good partners and great friends but I've also made and met great partners and friends. And no matter what, if we have a fallout or we go on creating wonderful stories with these chaos gremlins of ours, I am eternally grateful. Why I Haven't Been On Sam.

I think it's time to address the elephant in the room: why being on Sam has been so difficult. And not just a few minute details. But an actual explanation since so many of you have been so kind and have followed me for so long. I am hoping to get back on him at some point. When I feel ready. I will be placing the reasons below the cut as triggering topics are inbound. Just in case anyone who knew what the reason was and or/have been involved in that whole horrible mess...Don't worry. I won't be mentioning anything to do with you. I won't be naming names. I won't be saying a word about all that. I want to protect your peace and privacy. I always will. That said, reasons below the cut :

Through my Sam Winchester blog, I met another roleplayer. I will not be mentioning their name either because what good will that do when 1) they are gone, and 2) I am never going to stoop to their levels. This roleplayer started out very sweet and kind. Our characters had a wonderful connection. They started reaching out to other roleplayers I was close to, as well as me. We all liked them and trusted them dearly. Eventually, a relationship was formed between myself and this roleplayer. They became a part of my friend group. We all even thought of each other as family. But slowly, things started to change. That person became more vindictive, hateful, and rude when things did not go their way. They would even try to rope me in via guilting if I did not help or trying to make me feel like they were being mistreated so I'd say something. I didn't realize what they were doing at first. That they were manipulating me into doing what they wanted. Time went on and it started becoming far more frequent. They started lashing out at everyone and if I wasn't on their side then it turned on me. Eventually, we all parted ways. Thank god. Because those people were smart for getting out. And I'm so very glad that they did and that they are all safe. The deeper things got, the more info this person had on me. Hell, we'd even met and spent four days together at one point. They met my child. They'd been to my house. Even when I started seeing the horrible way they were acting, I was too scared to leave. I could only use their aesthetics they made for me. I had to respond to them first on everything. I had to answer discord rps daily or they got angry. There were so many horrible fights. So many horrible things said to me. I had never felt so low. I couldn't do anything right. i was always upsetting them. I spent a lot of days crying. or pushing myself to write on Sam. Eventually, I snapped and got the hell out of there. Ever since, it's been hard to write here. It's hard to look at Sam the same way. And since that person wrote Dean for a short spell, it's kinda hard to look at Dean too. I just have an awful taste in my mouth. I'm still healing...I'm sorry everyone. for taking so long. I am still so messed up. I feel the need to apologize for anything and everything. I am constantly defensive. I am still anxious.]]

Hi there! This is an Elevator Hitch AU blog! I realized late I should have put a little about me, but I got overslept with the initial blog release. (I am so sorry about that-)

This AU was designed and crafted by yours truly, myself. The destination arrival of floor 8 and its usual course of action is altered. This leaves the originals and doppelgangers to fight and cause some 'malfunction'. The two protagonists in the elevator fight, only for a loud snap to cease the brawling, and before it's too late, they plummet to their demise.

However, upon impact, both original and doppelganger come out unscathed. There is only darkness that leads to a large door, a fire exit in the basement level of the company. Before the two can fight to run through, in the blink of an eye, they are greeted in their new apartment complex.

Not only that, but a wash of familial bond washes over the two. A feeling they have no choice but to share. Because here at this corporation, we treat everyone as a family. Despite the comforts of home, we dive into their plans of escape, and seemingly, there is only one way out.

Into the arms of their "coworkers," who visit each night to go out drinking. Although the invitation is warm, their eyes are menacing and plotting evil intent.

A couple of rules!

I. I do allow lil magic anons / rp interactions / story liners to follow. Keeps me motivated!

ii. Common courtesy with interactions on my blog, you know what to ask and what to not ask. Suggestive is fine!

iii. I'm sure everyone is aware of Elevator Hitch when viewing my blog. Still, I will implore you that this blog has heavy themes such as gore, implied abuse, and, of course, death. This is the first and final warning.

iv. Obviously, I will try to mix in both canon and headcanon elements. Believe me, I'm not the best at it, but I try to stick to the main storyline as possible! Case in point: Protag and Antag have never learned of Normal Guy, sacrificing the rat, etc, beyond the room 8 puzzle.

v. Mun is an adult, I prefer to keep in my age group, on the rare occasion: engage with those 17-18. Will you still continue writing and putting qbbh in your stories?

I'm asking this question after months because I can't stand people "separating" the cc from the character, when it can't be done, not when the cc defends such a despicable person. I kept quiet for a long time because you're my favorite writer, but I'm tired of pretending that it doesn't bother me because I suffer daily from racism and xenophobia (things that both qbbh and cc don't seem to care about JAJAJA).

I don't know if you will respond to this or just ignore it, but regardless, thank you for writing such beautiful works and stories, I won't follow you any further, not until I have your response. And if you keep writing Defender of the Bastard, I'll pretend I've never read any of your works, that I've never even met you.

Okay, anon, I'll start this by saying that I 100% understand where you're coming from. If you've seen my pinned, you know that I hate that shitty green teletubby and all his friends equally, and I do NOT fuck with anyone supporting them. And you've probably seen me speaking up about the freakish xenophobia that parts of Bad's fandom have been taking part in basically since April (that I know about, I've never been a viewer.)

But also? I don't write qBBH. I've written him maybe five times Ever since the QSMP started, and three of those five times were in Breaking Dawn. And, even then, he's not really super important to the narrative at all, and he was never going to be. If anyone from the book club was gonna be important, it would be Maxo because he was super important during the Regret Arc, unlike Bad. And you may have noticed that I haven't even mentioned Bad in that fic since he started getting weird about Dream recently. I legitimately rewrote all of the most recent chapter to keep Bad out of it.

With my other current multichapters (Let a Spider Run, Evil Eye), he was never gonna be a big part of them because I quite genuinely just don't give a shit about his character and because his character isn't too important to the parts of qCellbit and qRoier's stories that I want to explore. Breaking Dawn? Regret Arc. Let a Spider Run? ...Kinda all over the place, but it's the bit of May when Cellbit and Roier started getting interested in each other. Evil Eye? Current "Fuck The Federation" Arc. So if you wanna follow those, go ahead, Bad would only be a cameo mention at most, almost definitely not someone super important. The fic he'd appear most in would be Breaking Dawn, but even then it's like one or two more times because, again, Maxo is actually the more important one there. Limited roles, dig?

But also? You have no right to demand what I do and do not put in my writing. Am I gonna put Bad in anymore? Not in any huge role because I never did, but you showed up and decided to effectively threaten me into not writing him at all by saying you'll never read again. And that's disappointing because I'm so ridiculously thankful for all my readers and I never want to make anyone uncomfortable, but you coming in and demanding I effectively change the plot to my passion project instead of coming and talking to me in dms or something is just kind of a dick move.

I don't hold anything against you, anon, and I won't hold anything against anyone who decides to unfollow me because I'm gonna keep having qBad appear as minor characters in my fics, but you've gotta understand that he's a character. Does he suck? Yeah, and so does the CC, but separating fact from fiction is a vital part of appreciating Minecraft RP storytelling. And I 100% understand having difficulty separating character from CC when it comes to a CC who has done some real shitty things, but sometimes you just need to take a step back and stop consuming content from something that brings you this much distress just by having a single character in it.

You're probably young, and I'm really, really sorry that you've dealt with so much horrible bullshit because of this one man's fandom, and I'm sorry that this guy is on a server that you love and appreciate and I understand that so well (I was a DSMP writer for a while, after all), and I hope that you understand what I'm saying here. I'm not currently planning on including him in anything beyond one or two brief appearances in Breaking Dawn, but you don't really have much of a right to demand that of me. I made this decision weeks ago.
