My blog goals for 2024

- interact more with people (be it through asks, tags, replies, etc. I just like talking about art with others and I wanna do it more)

- learn how to draw for myself again (I keep putting obstacles between me and creating what I enjoy so this year I wanna break that habit)

- talk more about all of my stories/characters (I've been hyperfocused on Chorus, and I love them, but I've got legitimately dozens of other story worlds with hundreds of characters)

- actually open commissions/sell prints (because I'm a broke bitch and I've been wanting to do this for years)

Posting this because it helps keep me accountable and also to inspire anyone else whose wanting to set some new goals for the new year! Doesn't have to be big, small simple goals are helpful when you feel overwhelmed <3

Is it TF?

TF, as in Transformation, is a concept that can mean quite a few things to many different people- and when depicted in art or media, usually consists of some sort of physical or psychological transformation of one thing into another, often including the contexts before or after such a change occurs. 

For the purposes of this blog, the assumed pretense that the TF or TF-adjacent content depicted in posts on this blog being nonsexual in this manner is considered the default, and will be treated or engaged with as such unless clarified otherwise, but there are plenty of ways those who engage in TF art can enjoy it! There are many who consider it a paraphilia for themselves and commonly enjoy it as a sexual theme (as explained and described very well in this comic here), but it is also quite common for people to enjoy it entirely nonsexually, as well- perhaps exploring it under a lens of gender, as a vessel or narrative device to communicate themes, or just liking it as an unrelated special interest... TF is fascinating and alluring concept in itself, regardless of the ways it can be enjoyed and explored.

I made this blog because I love it when I see people unintentionally making TF posts on tumblr. I feel like it happens a lot and I think it's really, really funny when it does, by accident or not. Feel free to tag me in posts or send in questions asking if something is TF, and I'll give my honest answer as an expert in the field myself.

I’m not going to reblog the post itself because I don’t want that behavior on my blog, but oh my god I just saw a post about “looking for fics about your favorite character on ao3” and good lord the amount of bad takes both in that post and in the notes?? I have to just ramble about this for a moment because oh my god. it was ludicrous.

people were complaining that, and get this, unfinished fics exist. and that if you read an unfinished fic you’ll have to, get this, wait to read more until it’s published next. they were allll up in arms that there’s fics for a character that don’t cater to their specific interests. that they involve other characters and either do/don’t put them in a romantic relationship when they want the opposite for the character.

like at this point, most of you people in the notes on that post are 1) just being mean and condescending about FREE WORKS you can, may I remind you, READ FOR FREE and EXIT at ANY time! if you don’t like it!, don’t read it!, it’s so simple!, and 2) straight up do not know how ao3 works lmao

like I saw soooo many people in the notes complaining about a certain ship, dynamic, tag, etc, and like… y’all know you can filter by romantic vs platonic pairings, by ratings, by excluding certain tags or other qualifiers, etc etc etc… you know about ao3’s actually incredibly usable filtering and searching system… right… right??

at this point I’m just convinced a lot of these people are spoiled by large fandoms with 100k+ works for their characters and have decided to just be mean and condescending for no reason on main, about literally free fan works you can read for free any time that people spend hours and hours pouring their free time into out of sheer love for their craft. cuckoo bananas behavior if you ask me 🫠

I was legit so close to commenting that maybe they should try shipping two characters with <10 fics, with 0 fics, try liking a rare pair, try hyperfocusing on a character or niche type of fandom with a tiny but lovely circle of fans, and stop treating fan works and fic as Content TM that they deserve to have handed to them that caters to exactly what they want for free and maybe they’ll calm down lmao

like y’all aren’t cool you’re just being mean. we fundamentally approach fic in wildly different ways and honestly the way you do sounds exhausting. literally could not be me, I’m to busy finding joy in shared love for characters and not flipping the table in a rage because there’s one (1) element of the fic that isn’t specifically catered to me, maybe try that and you’ll feel better, hmm?

and yeah I’m aware that last sentence is me being condescending towards them, but frankly it’s warranted when so many people are being that mean and haughty for no reason lmao but truly those takes were horrific. fellow fic writers and even fellow fic readers I interact with, am mutuals with, authors whose works I read, readers who comment and interact with my works, fans of niche fandom subsets that run in the same circles as me— I hope you know this is so wildly not how I approach fics, I love just finding fics for my characters and forming these lil communities where we share our interests and love for them and hype each other up. I love what we have in these fandom niches and I hope you know I would never dream of being so mean and condescending towards y’all. fic writers and readers and fan communities are so special and I cherish it even if clearly there’s people in the notes on that other post who don’t know how to do that lmao. I love your unfinished WIPs, I love your fics that may only partially be what I’m looking for, I love when you write characters in a way I wouldn’t expect but shows your love for your particular headcanon, I love the variety and diversity and variance in fic. I love us. genuinely. fic writer moots I am hugging all of you and I frequently reread your works, even the unfinished ones. ♡

Introjects don't choose their source but you do choose to ignore all the negative things about your source, and people, especially the people these negative/problematic aspects affect, have a right to mention how uncomfortable that makes them, regardless of whether they're a system or not.

You DO NOT have to tell everyone your source or the sources of your sysmates, nor do you need to list them on your blog. You're not entitled to know others sources and they're not entitled to know yours. Don't let yourself be pressured, and don't pressure anyone else.

System accountability applies to everything, no exceptions.

The severity of a trauma is personal, I'm tired of seeing arguments over what trauma is "bad enough" to develop DID/OSDD. It changes per person and situation, there is no definitive measurement for it.

Everyone in this community completely misrepresents polyfragmented/CDID systems and how they function and it's kinda really incredibly annoying. You can be polyfragmented and not have a high alter count, it's not defined solely by the act of splitting easily and systems that aren't polyfrag can split easily.

Fictive heavy systems are valid but that doesn't mean people are wrong or ableist for being wary of 14 year olds with 50+ danganronpa alters.

In the same vein, you don't owe anyone your traumatic history, not even other systems. You don't need to justify yourself to fakeclaimers and it's honestly safer if you don't so just block and ignore for the love of god.

Just because someone doesn't talk about being a system all the time doesn't mean they're faking, being a system doesn't need to be your personality or main character trait. People who do talk about it all the time aren't invalid or attention seeking either, y'all need to stop arguing on that stuff cause it hurts no one to just coexist and be respectful.

Oh hello! I didn't really have much of a plan going in so I don't quite know how to describe it, but I suppose I could just tell you in what order I did things? And hope it helps?

So, after having spent over a week following other blogs and sending in asks; I chose to make my own and portray Aether and Paimon. One of the reasons being that I main him in genshin and was Very familiar with his character.

Next i made a "secondary" account. I looked at how the blogs that I enjoyed a lot did things, and then use that as a guide for myself. I chose official art of Aether for both the banner and profile picture, wrote down the rules and made that my first post; which I then pinned so that it's easy for everyone to find.

Now what I've noticed from watching other new blogs pop up, is that if you can find a blog that portrays a character that Your character has relations with; it's a really good idea to simply send them asks over, reblog their stuff with your own interactions, and simply have fun. The visitors of that person's blog will then be made aware of your existence and will most likely stop by to pay a visit!

Since I was playing Aether I couldn't really do this, so every day I'd post two - four posts which basically just showed what he was doing through out the day (waking up, doing a commission, eating food, going to sleep. That sort of stuff) to keep the blog alive while mostly just waiting for any askers that might accidentally find me while going through Aether's tag on Tumblr. Oh tagging things clearly helps a lot too!

I would pay attention to the other blogs as well, seeing if there would be any posts made that I could interact with (usually not with much luck because I'm an incredibly socially anxious mess) and when there were, I'd do what I described above: interacted. Honestly not being afraid of showing others you exist is a very key part to this, I've noticed.

Oh! By the way, even if most of us mods are strangers to each other; we still try and support one another. For example say, someone starts a Nahida blog, right? They post their rules and are all ready to go. The second you happen to spot them, reblog their rules onto your blog. (And give them a follow and ask while you're at it!) It helps them get seen and hightens the chances of them getting anons. Plus it'll probably just make them happy too (I was a giddy mess when people did that with me)

But uhh yeah! Simply have fun, interact with other blogs, and be kind <:)

Worldbuilding Headcanon: Delphinium City

Location. in the South of Fiore, directly South of the mountains in the middle of the country. West of Hargeon, South East to the National Council of Fiore’s branch and Crocus. It lies north on the southern river that goes directly to the south ocean.

Geography. it lives right on a river, which generates a lot of trade as it’s accessible via ship. The city is in a slightly hilly area and leads to the plains before the mountains.

Population. ~34,500 / Mage population: ~15%

Regional nobility. The current liege lords of Delphinium city are the Calyx family. The Calyx family have traditionally lived in the mountain countryside of Delphinium, but were given the city and the surrounding land in a marriage dowry from the Royal Family 105 years ago when a Princess married into the family. Since then, the family has resided within Delphinium, but their countryside estate is still in existence and is used for more formal occasions by the family.

History. In ancient times, this was a seat of power for mages who made attempts at protecting people from the threat of dragons and later, demons. And both during that sweet in between time when both were big dangers. There was said to be a magical device that could be activated by the mages of the city and act as a shield but such a device was stolen, lost to time, or never existed. It is not agreed upon history, as the ancient era was filled with a lot of fighting and historical accounts can be differing.

It is said that the protection of mages was why the city got its name, not just from the fact that the flower grows freely around.

The city has acted as a little hub of more defensive magic as well as a place for healers to come together in Fiore. It hosts a yearly presentation of newly researched magic and the city has been known to be very financially friendly for mages of all kinds. They also have Delphinium Museum that details the mysteries and arguments about the city’s much debated history.

With the attack of Alvarez, the city found need to try and make use of the old time defenses. Thankfully, a lot of them did work and the city’s own mages who lived there helped defend the city with the help of the Calyx family. The head of the family at the time, Lady Geraldine Calyx, was a requip mage who alone killed a squad of Alvarez foot solider with her ranged weapons.

However, when Universe One was activated, not even the ancient systems could find a way to avoid that. The city’s walls easily crumbled in the disjointed ness and they lost a significant portion of their mage population in the fighting that followed, Lady Geraldine one of them.

In the year that has followed, a memorial is currently petitioned to remember those who lost their lives defending their city. The city is one of the last to be fully rebuilt as they are having some difficulties in doing it the right way. An insistence made by the the young Lord Veolt Calyx who has suddenly taken his mother’s place as Head of the Family.

They have also seen an influx of people going to Anisama, as there are now even more people with magic induced trauma.

Landscape. The city has high walls that are modeled somewhat like the flower as well, standing tall and proud now even after all these years. The walls seem to have a naturally occurring property that heals its own cracks when they are made, making the walls ever lasting.

Thanks to this cement compound, a lot of the structures are very old, which gives the city an almost vintage feel to it. It certainly helps with tourism.

Yet it has been modernized, their train station is massive and it connects to the docks of the city, making trade and travel a lot easier. These buildings and structures were not made with the ancient cement, but with more modern techniques.

However, they do not still have the old recipe fully written down in their records. Over the centuries, it has been lost. That has created an issue with rebuilding. Some parts of the city and their walls are still compromised. As well as some old buildings and structures.

Popular places

Amisana. A healing organization, which deals with magic induced trauma. Whether physical or mental, they heal those injuries. Their team of healers are all well educated from around the world and their work is officially sanctioned by the Magical Council as of their founding in x784.

Delphinium Museum. The historical museum of Delphinium city. It details the city’s own history as well as that of Fiore and sometimes touch upon the other nations. The museum has come under fire recently for the now former curator, Kiwali Metto, who spoke outright against the royal government for the recent Alvarez attack. She was fired and it was claimed to be unrelated to the comments and that only made the flames of scandal hotter.

Prue’s Magnificent Showcase. A renowned magical art museum founded by Prudence Kyga. It not only celebrates historical magical art, but holds galleries of up and coming artists and already established magical ones.

Garden of Hope. A giant garden in the middle of the city, boasting Delphiniums of course. It is free to walk through and there are picnic tables and gazebos littered around the place, inviting people to spend time there. It has no entry fee and it is taken cared of by the city itself, funded by the resident’s tax dollars.

Delphinium’s Arcanic Academy. The old mage’s school that has excited since ancient times. It is more of an arcane library now, with ancient and old texts. It is owned by the Calyx family now but mostly open to the public. Some areas are not as open and access needs to be granted. They can teach the basics of magic, with permission from the High Council as well as certain branches of magic which depends entirely on the Dean. The late Lady Geraldine learned her requip here and the current lord graduated from here.

University of Fiore. A public university of Fiore, handled mostly by the royal government as it falls under their jurisdiction. The campus is in the south of town and trolleys tend to take students from the train station to the campus. Most students move to Delphinium.

Arcane Delight. A famous nightclub of Delphinium and the highlight of their nightlife district. People want to be seen here so that others can talk about the fact that they have been here. Some famous celebrity sightings here include Hibiki Lates.
