Even if only a few people had dropped by to see this new stranger who was going to be staying on the island for a little while (from what he gathered, it wasn't exactly that unusual; faunus came to Menagerie when they needed an escape, when they needed a fresh start, any number of reasons, really), Aster was enjoying his time here so far. Even though it had its own unique problems, it really was a beautiful place.

There were all sorts of faunus everywhere he looked, and the sight made his heart swell. It had been a long time since he'd been to Menagerie, and he had forgotten what it was like, to know that everyone here was a faunus, that there weren't any places people would yell at him or look down on him for simply existing.

Which was why he was sitting at one of the many little outdoor cafes, just enjoying a morning iced coffee, without having to worry.

After a moment, another patron came in, looking around as though trying to find a seat…., but the only free one was the other chair at his table.

"You're welcome to sit down here if you need a seat," he called out to the newcomer, offering a pleasant smile. It wasn't like he needed two chairs, after all.

But when ur not out and about Liyue's nature with Qiqi,

U do little odd jobs around Liyue, like dog walking, delivering peoples' medicine, and u even registered w/the Adventurer's Guild so u could take on small commissions :D

U used ur money to buy ingredients to cook food for urself and the household (bc Baizhu cant make anything besides soup and tea apparantly srsly how is this man alive)

And thru a series of trial and error (and consulting Xiangling..)

U made coconut milk!!! ✨️🥥🥛

Qiqi loved. It. Every. Time.

She's not tall enough to reach the kitchen counters w/o a stool, but she can peek her little head over it and put her fingers on the edge, which she does everytime u make it 😫😫🥺🥺

Background: Hunter and Wrecker take a job with Fennec Shand in exchange for Intel on the Empire...with an unfortunate turn of events. For whom?

From the very beginning Hunter and Wrecker had misgivings about working with Fennec Shand. 

Aside from her trying to maim or kill Hunter she took off with Omega, a terrified child.

He never knew where her loyalties lay. And she didn’t believe in even a smidgen of selflessness. 

Now being rudely ordered around by this cold woman on some swampy ass crack of a planet for intel...that he wasn’t sure they’d ever see. 

But he and Wrecker really had nothing to bargain with. 

Now she was giving them both crap about losing Omega. 

Honey, you don't know shit about where we’ve been or what we’ve experienced to protect our family. 

Plus, she was willing to kidnap A KID for MONEY. 

Fennec claimed to stop going after the bounty when whomever hired Fennec thought Omega would be safer with them. And she refused to tell them who that was.  

Mighty nice of you, sweetheart. 

“Guess they were wrong about that.” She taunted them. 

Wrecker shot back “Guess you’ll work for anybody, as long as you get paid.” 

Hunter was starting to lose his patience...and a bit of his empathy. At least for sketchy characters who dangled important info that would help a cause or an innocent person’s quality of life, just out of reach. 

He knew he was becoming bitter. Compassion Fatigue. 

“Good guys or bad guys, their money is all the same.” She trotted out THAT platitude. 

“Well, money isn’t everything.” Hunter countered. 

“Spoken by someone who doesn't have any.” Fennec sneered. 

Under the helmet Hunter ground his teeth. She had no right to judge him and his brothers this way. Surely, she started from nothing? Didn’t most of the galaxy? 

The bounty was bagged and brought back into Fennec’s ship. 

“Pleasure doing business with you.” 

“Hang on. You promised information.” Hunter angrily demanded. 

“I didn’t say I had it with me. But I’ll get it.” Fennec stared down at them. “After I deliver Sylar to my client."

“That’s NOT what we agreed on.” Hunter and Wrecker were PISSED, it showed on their faces. 

“You can either fight me or trust me. Take your pick.” 

Hunter and Wrecker glanced at one another stone faced. 

She’s fucking with us. 

“Good choice. I’ll be in touch.” 

Then the confident, cold-blooded Fennec Shand made a HUGE mistake. 

She turned her back on Hunter. 

He shot her, his blaster was NOT set to stun. 

She fell onto the gangplank, still somewhat alive. Instantly regretting that she mistook both clones for harmless fools. 

Hunter stepped up and leaned down to face Fennec. 

“You’re right, we’re credit-less. That’ll change when we turn in your bounty and scrap your ship. We also have your contacts and intel now, too.” 

Fennec gasped, clinging onto the last shred of life. 

“Too late for YOU to learn a valuable lesson: Don’t FUCK with people who have loved ones...cause we’ll do ANYTHING to secure their safety.” 

Wrecker yanked up Fennecs dying body from the gangplank so he could pilot her ship. “Heh, didn’t she say something earlier about eventually everyone’s luck runs out?” 

“Guess she thought it didn’t apply to HER.” Hunter walked off to pilot the Marauder. 

Maker help ANYONE standing in the way of Clone Force-99.

Bad batch speculation under the cut:

I think Omega’s hair is wet in this shot (I promise this is going somewhere).

Okay, to be fair, it’s a little hard to tell. Her hair has grown a little bit probably two or three inches at least, and seems to be long enough that she can tie it back, or at least tie the back part of it back. We haven’t really seen this hairstyle yet so we don’t know what it looks like normally, but Omega’s hair does have a little bit of a wave to it, especially on the ends. (It should be curly, but that’s another issue). Here, though, it’s completely flat and hanging down, which is usually what the rigging/animation team does to signal that her hair’s wet. Here’s Omega normally and after she got dunked in a cave:

Again, hard to tell, buuut I think it’s a possibility in that first shot.

Of course, we don’t know when that shot takes place. Omega’s still in her Tantiss outfit, so it’s probably during or right after the escape. And if her hair is wet, and if this is during the escape, then maybe part of the escape is going to be breaking out of a tube. Or breaking someone else out of a tube.

The main reason I bring this up is because I just rewatched “Bounty Lost” the other night. In it, we have that scene with Omega, Fennec, and the abandoned tube experiments, and then Omega specifically mentioning that ending up as an experiment in a tube as something she’s afraid of. It’s not unreasonable to think that back and have that fear realized. Which means we could see Omega in one of those experiment tubes at one point; and, if Crosshair’s there when it starts happening, that could be the thing that pushes him to want to break out. He won’t try to escape for his own sake, but he’ll probably try for Omega’s.

And, because I’m clearly overthinking this two seconds of footage, non-experiment-in-a-tube-angst options for why Omega’s hair could be wet here include, but are not limited to:

1. Omega and Crosshair smash a bunch of equipment as a distraction on their way out, and some of the equipment had water or bacta in it, so they got wet.

2. They triggered some fire sprinklers on the way out.

3. Omega breaks someone else—maybe Crosshair—out of a tube.

And, the most likely:

4. It was raining on the platform when they escaped.

He was far too handsome for his own good. Elain was all too aware he knew that as he lounged on the thin blanket spread out beneath them, a glint of golden sun catching in the red of his hair as the mid-summer breeze ruffle the strands that weren't pinned beneath his shoulders. "I can feel you staring, mate."

He smirked slightly as she settled on her elbow beside him, his eyes still closed against the light peaking through the leaves swaying above them. "Sometimes I wonder when I'm going to wake up."

Lucien peeled his eyes open, rolling onto his side to mirror his mate. "What do you mean, love?"

She fiddled with a fallen leaf. "Things have always been... For years and years, it's been one danger or drama or expectation after the next. And now..."

Now she was happy. Her future was bright, unrestrained by conflict or social expectations. She had the leisure to build a real relationship with her sisters even as she no longer depended on them so entirely. She had the freedom to build a life of her own with the male she loved with her whole heart. To spend the rest of her long, long life in his arms, content to lie beneath the sun day after day with only the sounds of bright laughter and music and unadulterated joy around them.

That's not to say the Day Court was flawless. Every person and place had their faults. But it was a far cry from the first few years she spent in Prythian, one court as cold as the next as they tried to piece together a war-cleaved continent. She hadn't bore the brunt of it and she'd never try to claim she had. But it had still been an exhausting few years.

Middle sister.

Mediator.

Gentle and good and kind and perfect.

Breaking away was the most terrifying and exhilarating thing she had ever done, to be frank. And it had brought her here, out of the box she had been pushed into as a girl and into a whole new way of seeing the world.

"Now I'm free of it all and waiting for reality to set in. For some conflict or conundrum to shatter this dreamscape." Her mate hummed, an arm curling around her waist so she was forced to shift with him when he rolled onto his back again. Contentment shuttered down the thread between them as she buried her face in his chest, letting their legs tangle around one another. Full from their picnic with the warmth of the high sun around them it would be all too easy to drift to sleep there, she knew. Another little element of this utopia of theirs. "It all feels too perfect to last."

His fingers tangled in her unbound hair, stroking from her scalp to the curled ends before repeating the motion. "I've never taken kindly to good fortune either," he murmured. "At least, not until you came along. It was far too fleeting to trust. But with the war behind us, the courts near peace, our bond officiated, here with my true family and you at my side... I'm willing to risk it."

"Can you promise me this is forever?"

He smiled, kissing her hair. "No, my love. But I can promise it's the beginning of a brilliance to bloom. And I'll push Lady Luck as long as I'm able if that means we'll have our happily ever after."

"Promise?"

"By the sun above us," he murmured, kissing the corner of her mouth. "By the moon to rise." Another kiss fell under her jaw before he raised his head again, lips just inches from her own. "Every star that falls or burns for us night after night. By the very bond between us, I swear with all I am, Elain, we'll have a lifetime of joy and light."

And as his lips finally found hers, she believed.

I hope I'm not reaching but I feel like Din essentially told Bo that he is spending the rest of his life with her. Din Djarin, the man who usually helps people and is on his way, told Bo that he will serve her until her song is written. He will be right by her side with Grogu who loves her too. Which usually would be after someone dies. If that is not setting up a clan of 3 I don't know what is.

I would love to hear your thoughts about how Bo's interactions differ from the other interactions he has with Pelli, Greef, etc. Because it's not lost on me that Bo acts like his mom. I would say that Grogu is so attached to her that he and Din cannot leave.

Hello my friend! And no you are absolutely not!

To understand this, one only has to look at what kind of person Din Djarin is. In season 1, he was an absolute lone wolf who roamed the galaxy to do assignments as a bouny hunter to support his tribe. Although he has always helped friends and acquaintances he met along the way, he has never committed his life to anyone other than his tribe. Some examples:

Boba Fett

I love Boba, he is my husband and I love the dynamic between him and Din. Din didn't hesitate for a second to help Boba Fett with his problem with the pykes. He didn't want payment, but just the fact that Fennec came to him to hire him suggests they have a different kind of relationship, although Din was absolutely willing to die for the cause when push came to shove. But that has more to do with the fact that honor is paramount for Din Djarin and when he promises something he keeps it.

I'm kind of sad there were no real interactions with Boba and Grogu I really would like to see that, because Boba knew a few jedi himself.

Peli Motto

First off I have to say that I adore Peli, one of my absolute favorite characters. And Grogu adores her too, as we found out this episode as he jumps into her arms with glee. Peli reminds me of my favorite aunt I got to spend time with as a kid and that meant lots of fun and action. She spoils Grogu, he gets his favorite food and has a lot of fun, yet a very different relationship than the one he has with Bo. Bo-Katan has spoken with Grogu on an equal footing since the beginning, not like a toddler or pet. Just think how much she talked to him in episode two and made a real connection. Bo explains, shows interest, and teaches him along with Din, taking on the role of mother rather than cool aunt.

Greef Karga

Grogu and Din share a special past with Greef. I really like the character, especially this season. Greef was Din's boss, then briefly his enemy. Grogu saves his life and it completely changes the relationship of the three. Din and Greef are friendly with each other, he doesn't hesitate to help when Nevarro needs help, but at the same time Din also has Greef's offer of a piece of land in mind. I love how Greef gives him a bottle... whatever that is... he reminds me of a good friend and he treats Grogu the same way. I would even say like a childless friend who appreciates the little one (after all, he saved his life!) but doesn't really know what to do with him. When Din insists on Grogu's name, Grogu doesn't seem to show any real interest.

Greef and most of the other acquaintances and friends call Din Mando. That's one of the first things I noticed, that Bo always calls him by his name. Both Bo's relationship with Din and Grogu was much more personal from the start. She shouldn't have taken care of Din or Grogu, but she did it and not just like that, but with interest and a lot of warmth that she never showed to anyone else.

Conclusion

I don't get the aunt vibes with Bo like some people say. I'm a mom myself and I've felt the connection between Grogu and Bo since the second episode. The way she treats him, how he is always close to her, how she protects and teaches him. Apart from the fact that Katee Sackhoff describes herself as a mummy and recently became a mother herself.

The same goes for Din Djarin. Yes, he is loyal and has so far helped all his friends without hesitation and would probably die honorably for most of them. But he has never committed himself to anyone so openly and without compromise and until his end. I'm pretty sure Bo-Katan understood what Din Djarin's words really mean is evident in her reaction. Astonishment, awe and full of emotion.

I realized too late that you were actually asking about the relationship between Bo and Grogu, now it's a mixture. Have fun with it and this is the way!

You’re so smart,kind and amazing. Despite the sass you radiate off sometimes behind that facade is genuine care for their well-being. Despite being a fennec fox hybrid you didn’t let adaptation to the Avidya forest stop you. You’re an amazing tutor and never gave up on your pupils.

You’re always so friendly at those you trust. Tighnari your ears and tail are also so talented just like you. Your ears can hear distant sounds easier and your tail can help you by catching things if they fell.

"It's quiet here without you. The forest rangers are all whining about how they're missing you, but we are all alright. I hope you've been taking care of yourself, as well.

The sumeru rose she has has bloomed fully a couple days ago. She's really excited about it.

I have been taking care of myself, along with the other rangers. Me and Collei will be awaiting your return, then. I won't tell her so that you can at least surprise her with your return.

It really hasn't been long since you've last been here, and yet your presence is missed greatly. Though, i must admit, it's awfully cute that you're this affectionate sometimes.

While I am not sure if i can make it, I'm sure Collei would love to come with you. You can ask her yourself when you return.

Fallen for me, you say? I'm honored to be the object of your affection. I'll admit I never expected you to confess your feelings for me in a letter, but I understand that you are nervous.

Grogu wished he had more friends. It got lonely when his dad went off to do things without him. That didn't happen often, but when it did, it stunk. Sure, he had Peli, Fennec, Greef Karga, IG-11-M, Axe Woves, and a few others, but they were problematic. 

Oh, they weren’t bad people. They were just real adults. They’d been adults doing adult things for a long time. They had mostly forgotten how to have fun, how to dress cool, how to just sit around and do nothing, but with each other. Adults always seemed to want to accomplish something, like nice, clean polished armor. People who weren’t quite adults yet, well, they weren’t quite as fussy about stuff like that.

That’s why he wanted to spend more time getting to know the Mods. They were like Fennec and not like her at the same time. They had all needed some sort of repair performed to their bodies, but because they hadn’t known Grogu at the time, he hadn’t used the Force to heal them, so they were healed in a different way. Their modifications covered a pretty broad range of differences and rather than hide them or cover them up, they seemed to make it obvious to others that they existed. The bright colors of their equipment, the fashion forward clothing, and the slightly sassy attitudes helped too. 

They seemed not to mind those differences and Grogu could understand that. They could do the things they needed to do, as far as he could tell, and it seemed to have set them on a different path than a lot of the other young people on Tatooine. They wanted more out of life and were willing to do a lot to get that. He had been impressed with how well they worked with the Daimyo and even though Fennec teased them about their color sense, Grogu could tell that she was also impressed with their willingness to do hard work to make life better in Mos Espa and on Tatooine in general. They seemed like ideal people to have as friends.

“No scooters.”

Huh? Was he saying any of that stuff out loud?

“Grogu, I know you like those young people. I like them too. But just because you want more friends and think that they could fit the bill, I will not be getting you a speeder scooter like the ones they ride.”

Grogu didn’t know if should laugh or cry. The one time he was just thinking about people he liked and didn’t have an ulterior motive for knowing them better, his dad goes running off on a wild Taun Taun chase of supposition and assumptions. He just shook his head at his dad and sighed.

“You’re trying to tell me that this is the time you’re just being sincere, kid? I’d like to believe you, I would. But you know their considered a gang and to be a member you’d need a speeder scooter and I just don’t like the idea of you being on one of those things. They aren’t safe.”

What?! Aren’t safe? Nothing was really safe on Tatooine! How could the guy who got flipped off their speeder bike more than once, eaten by a Krayt dragon, and almost eaten by a rancor complain at him about what was safe or not safe? That just didn’t make any sense.

“Buddy, I know you have a lot of skills and you can heal people, but who can heal you? If something happened to you after everything we’ve been through, I need a modification to remove my heart because it would be broken.”

What! Since when was his dad that sappy? Grogu loved his dad, but he did draw a line at emotional manipulation like that. Especially when it was the Mandalorian doing that to him! What the heck was going on?

“Grogu. Buddy. Wake up. You were having a dream. Drash is here to see you. She said you promised to hold a Diggle and Daggle vid marathon for her and the rest of the Mods.”

What! 

Dank Farrik! He’s forgotten all about that. Well, at least she was there and she could help him with the box of data cards that the vids were stored on. Skad said that he had a reader and projector they could use. One of the other Mods was going to make them all snacks.

“Be careful on the scooter. Call me when you want to be picked up. I love you, buddy.”

“Love you.”

Grogu knew that his dad needed to hear that. It wasn’t easy to watch your kids grow up and go off with a gang of like minded young people to change their view of life, the universe and everything, but it was worthy.

"THIS IS TOO HARD! I CAN'T DO IT!" Plixie howled. In a fit of juvenile rage, they flung the juggling balls across the room, causing a few to rebound and come flying back their direction. They ducked - wings fluttering desperately - to avoid the onslaught but a few still hit them with a loud 'BONK!'

"Please, just try again." Leyera muttered, not even looking up from her current task: untangling an extremely matted string of fairy lights.

"NO! I DON'T WANNA!" The plasma monster thrashed furiously in midair, before landing specifically to stomp their foot on the ground like an angry bunny. A few frustrated tears leaked from their wide eyes.

The little temper tantrum was enough to get the gloptic's full attention, "I swear, Plixie, you are driving me up the wall..."

"Look, how about I demonstrate it for you again? Here..." They dropped the mound of knotted lights and psychically levitated the juggling balls into their grasp. They were able to throw and catch at least five of them simultaneously without even looking, "See how I'm doing this scooping motion when I toss it? Try doing that."

This only seemed to upset Plixie even more, "IT'S NOT FAIR, LEYERA! YOUR ARMS ARE LONGER!"

"You can fly!" Leyera protested, pressing one tentacle to her closed eye in her equivalent of a facepalm. She exhaustedly muttered to herself, "...I spent all last night working myself half to death because our only other fortune-teller Tye-dye left the show, and this is the thanks I get?"

"What's a fortune-teller?" Plixie tilted their head to one side and their eyes glittered with curiosity, apparently that was the only part of her angry little rant they actually heard.

"I've explained it to you before..?" They grumbled.

"Yeah, but I wanna hear it again."

"I will never understand little kids..." She shook her head to clear it and begrudgingly elaborated, "A fortune-teller is a monster who can tell other monsters what will happen to them in the future and tell that what they should do about it."

"Woah!" Plixie's wings flapped excitedly, "How do you do that?!"

The magical monster seemed a bit less bothered by the injustices of the world now that they were discussing something familiar to them, "Well, there's lots of different ways. There's looking into crystal balls, there's tracking the movement of the stars, I specialise in palm reading, kind of ironic since I don't have any but, heh..."

"Cool! Cool!" They squeaked, hopping about as though this was the most fascinating information they had ever heard. Then, an idea crossed their mind and their face lit up, "Can you tell me MY future?"

"Uh, sorry kid, but I'm really not supposed to, Fennec's orders." She muttered. Fennec had been firm (well, as firm as Fennec can be) that she was under strict orders to only use her psychic powers for those who approached her booth during opening hours, lest she drain her magical energy stores.

"PLEASE!" Plixie took flight again and hovered as close to the Gloptic's eye as possible, hoping that their adorable face would persuade them.

"Come on, not the puppy-dog eyes..." Leyera protested. They had always had a hard time not giving in to the puppy-dog eyes...

"PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!"

"Okay, okay: I'll do it!" She threw her tentacles up in the air in defeat, "...If you promise to practice some more afterwards."

"Deal!" They nodded profusely.

"Deal, give me your hand," Plixie's palm was so small, it was hard for Leyera to find any of the tell-tale lines they used to predict fortunes, "Oh, wow, it's so tiny!"

"Hehehe!" The plasma monster giggled, having already forgotten about their earlier upset.

"Hmm, well, this line here tells me that you express your emotions freely." She said, pointing to a long line across their entire palm.

"What does that mean?" They tilted their head to one side.

"It means that you like to say how you feel and don't try to hide it," She replied.

"Oh! Oh oh oh! Yeah! That sounds like me!"

"You don't say?" They rolled their eye, then turned their attention to a curving, sloped line in the middle of their hand, "And this one, this one tells me that you're very creative."

"And this one..." Leyera went froze as though she were a robot that had ran out of battery. For a few moments, they stared blankly ahead as though gazing into a distant future - a future not at all pleasant.

"What? What does it mean?!"

"It... It doesn't mean anything important," They eventually admitted, looking away.

Plixie folded their arms again and stomped a little more, "Aww, that's boring! You should make it something cooler!"

"What? That's not how it works—"

"Please! I wanna be a big, strong monster that can destroy entire islands!"

"That isn't..." She grumbled, "Ugh, fine. This line says that you'll one day be a big, strong monster that can destroy entire islands. Now can we please go back to juggling like you promised?"

"Nooo... Ugh, fine..."

It was late, long past closing time. A pale moon hung gloomily amongst the glittering stars like a giant spotlight. Hardly a monster seemed to stir, until...

"You're just being hysterical!" The voice was distant and muffled - almost impossible to decipher - and yet the pure, bitter disgust in their tone was enough to make the voice seem as loud as thunder.

"Huh..?" Syncopite drearily sat up, blinking rapidly to quell their sleepiness. They had already been struggling to properly get some rest, and the occasional faint argument sound was doing them no favours - but now their curiosity was piqued.

Driven by intrigue, they got up and waddled over to their friend's room and knocked once... twice... No response.

"Pppsst, Hornacle, can you hear that?" They whispered, pushing the door open with their foot.

Hornacle was silent for a few moments, before slowly murmuring, "Ugh... No, Soxy, I don't want to eat the vegetables..."

Oh. She's sleep-talking. Looks like they're gonna have to figure this one out alone...

They slowly followed the source of the noise; every tiny little creak or thud made them flinch. Eventually as the noises got closer, it became apparent that there were two monsters speaking and they were arguing intensely. Thinking quickly, they dashed behind a nearby storage create so they wouldn't be spotted.

"I'm telling you, I know what I saw!" The first voice insisted: weary yet stern, "That line, it's not good! It can only mean..."

"Leyera, I know your fortune-telling is very important to you, but you can't let it dictate what we do around here..." The other replied. Syncopite knew that voice well, it was Fennec.

They slowly peeked out from behind the box, eventually spotting the two older monsters standing under the light of a single lamp. The air was thick with tension: Leyera seemed both furious and anxious while Fennec was somehow even more frightened than he usually was.

"Very important? Very important?! It's more than 'very important', Fennec, it's my entire life!"

Fennec flinched, pressing his body low to the ground. His ears were pinned back and his tail was between his legs. He quietly replied, "I know, but Audrey says..."

"No! Listen to me!" She snarled, "I've been doing this for years! Over a decade, even. I know my way around a palm reading, and the future is not bright for that kid!"

Both went quiet again, glaring at eachother bitterly as though they could break into a fight at any moment. Fennec trembled wildly, his fur standing on end like a frightened cat; Leyera stared at him with a strange, almost pleading look in her eye.

Eventually, he worked up the courage to say, "Leyera, I'm going to be as gentle as possible when I say this but you're acting crazy. Maybe you just read it wrong, or maybe it isn't accurate because it's not real—"

"OH REALLY?! I'M THE ONE ACTING CRAZY WHEN YOU THINK THOSE KIDS ARE G—"

"Stop fighting! Please!" Syncopite bolted out of their hiding space and hurled themselves between the monsters in a desperate attempt to shield one or both should things get worse.

"Syncopite?!" "Kid?!" They both yelled at the same time.

"I..." Unable to quickly think of an explanation, Syncopite looked down at their stubby feet, "I don't like it when monsters fight."

Fennec was the first to react, approaching the crystal monster and patting them with a colourful paw. It felt a little condescending, but it was better than nothing.

"Oh, we weren't fighting, sweetheart." He soothed, eager to quell the tension in the air, "We were just having a... friendly discussion."

"A friendly discussion about how you won't heed my warnings..." Leyera muttered ominously.

"Yes, that... Look, it doesn't concern you, kid. You should go back to sleep."

"But—" They couldn't just leave it at that! Clearly both monsters were very passionate about the issue - it needed to be resolved!

Fennec whipped his head around to stare at the Glopitc, shivering slightly, "See, Leyera? You're frightening the poor things!"

"What? I didn't mean to, I—" They sighed defeatedly, slumping to the point where it looked as though they might melt into an exhausted puddle at any moment, "...Fine. Syncopite? Fennec? I'm sorry. I was wrong. I won't bring it up again."

"But you were just-" Syncopite protested, baffled.

"I know, but I was wrong. Please, it's too late for this..."

"But—"

"No buts!" With a flick of her two-toned feeler, Leyera effortlessly lifted the crystal monster into the air with their psychic powers.

"Wh— HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" Syncopite squealed as the ground seemed to disappear underneath them. Their stubby legs flailed uselessly in midair and the magnetic stones that usually floated peacefully around them spun as though they were caught in a tornado. They hated every second of it: they couldn't get away, they couldn't run, they couldn't hide!

"Leyera! Stop it!" Fennec cried, trying to sound firm but stuttering and stammering the whole way through, "What's wrong with you?"

Leyera hesitated, but she didn't have the energy to argue back anymore and just let them go, careful to levitate the crystal monster gently to the ground instead of dropping them, "Yes. Sorry, Fennec. I'm an awful monster."

He didn't rebute their claim.

"Come on, Syncopite," Fennec instructed. He padded quietly towards the exit and beckoned the little monster, "It's late."

Syncopite's need to obey their trainer overrid their courage, but their little mind still swam with questions as they hobbled after him, "But, wait! What about—?"

"Leyera realised the error of their ways and apologized. There is nothing more to discuss." He replied, crimson eyes dull and weary with tiredness.

Syncopite wanted to object, but they had a feeling that any complaint they had would be quickly dismissed. Maybe they were overthinking this; maybe they were wrong; maybe it would just be for the best to not think about it any longer...

They didn't dare utter a word as the ethereal monster ushered them back to their room, leaving an uncomfortable silence as Fennec's paws hardly made a sound on the cold floor.

"Remember, we only want what's best for you." He muttered as he shuffled away, leaving Syncopite to try and get back to sleep despite their racing thoughts. Maybe tomorrow would be a better day... Hopefully...

hello hello! as promised i'll post my thoughts, ramblings and any further analysis of each episode of tbobf here! please don't take it too seriously, i'm doing this for fun and it's just my running thought process as i watch each episode <3 this isn't my first time watching the show but I haven't seen it since it came out so a lot of it was forgotten. please no arguments in the comments and tags, spoiler alert beneath the cut

the visual inside the sarlacc makes my skin crawl i can feel that shit eugh

poor boba honestly jawas are such shits, and the tuskens literally just woke him up only to drag the poor man goddamn

those kids are MEAN good to know kids are the same basically everywhere what the fuck

i do genuinely love the tusken visuals and the deeper delve into their culture though, they're so interesting and i always enjoy their screen time, especially since they're usually cast in such a terrible light in star wars

massiff <33 ever since i've seen din treat these like the doggos they are i've just been a bit in love with them tbh, they're big puppies!!!

i really like that we get all of this in flashbacks idk it works so nicely

temuera morrison the man that you are <3 love the contrast between pale sickly terrible looking boba and healing getting much better boba, like, the contrast is stark and pleasing and a good visual of passing time

i absolutely love seeing this wide overhead shot of mos espa, i think it's the first time i've been able to grasp the infrastructure of a city on tatooine - we rarely see the cities from any view other than on the ground so i always kind of assumed it wasn't very big but low-key, it's sizeable!! at least to my eyes (i have never lived in a large city don't quote me on size)

JIZZ HELL YEAH!! I LOVE THAT SILLY LITTLE BLUE DUDE (had to google "little blue jizz player star wars" to remind myself that his name is max rebo rip)

boba and fennec have massive sibling energy to me (i do not have siblings) - their riffing just really reminds me of watching others with their siblings growing up

sick ass parkour hell yeah - fennec is an assassin and she's parkouring, does this make her an assassin's creed character? methinks yes (i would kill for her as a skin in one of the games but d1sney would never)

low-key those gamorreans are loyal as fuck and i respect that, they didn't have real reason to keep their word to boba but they did because he also treated them with respect

seeing that water being wasted hurts my soul since it's so hard to get a hold of on tatooine
