The confident mask slips as he wonders who exactly you'll be getting lost in because even he doesn't know who he is... and he thinks about all the poor wretches before you, lost in him before being lost to his master. He thinks about how you'll leave a piece of yourself and take a piece in exchange, just like every Sebastian before you. A small price to pay for the protection he thinks he has to buy. I've always believed that Mu's parents were genuinely nice to her and she had a good relationship with them, but that then brought up the question of why she didn't tell them about the bullying. Because surely if they cared they would do something to stop it. But then I realised that may have been the problem.

Even after everything they did to her, Mu still sees these people as her friends and misses them, even though they noat definitely so not feel the same. She still pictures herself standing among them as allies and reaching out to them.

Another thing I have realised is that Mu often blames all of her problems on Rei, though we still don't know exactly what Rei did to earn her ire. Yet in her music videos we clearly see that she feels guilt about what she did and does also blame herself for her own circumstances. But you know who she doesn't blame? Her bullies. The people who made her suffer so much in the first place. The people who drove her to suicide ideation. Because they were her friends and she cares about them, far more than they ever cared about her.

Mu would do anything to protect her friends while they won't even look at her.

I know in the grand scheme of things that this is by no means a lot, but it doesn't stop me from being FLOORED by the reception of my Rayllum Month stuff?!?! Okay, Anon, you are right. You are so right. So THIS IS GONNA BE MY HEADCANON:

Astarion WILL not perish after his Tav dies. He WILL go on, he will NOT GIVE UP. Because he owes that to Tav. They made the life possible he has now - to live freely, to love, and he owes it to himself also!

And of course it breaks him when Tav dies. Grief is possibly, no probably, the hardest emotion to ever overcome because you never really overcome it. It becomes a part of you. So he takes it and takes Tav and all the memories and the love and carries them with him all day, EVERYDAY, because he will never forget. They are forever with him and he will keep on living for himself and for Tav, honouring their memories and life together. And he's strong, he's a survivor!

And it will be hard, terribly so, near impossible. There will be times when he can't possibly think of a way to carry on. But then he will, because he has too. He'll never be truly alone again though, because he carries Tav with him everywhere he goes.

And also because Tav would beat his ass up if he just gave up.

And also also, no matter what: their souls will always find each other. No matter in what form - they belong together. They'll always come back to being together.

There you go, this is what I'll tell myself from now on - because I won't have it any other way in my mind - at least for me personally.
