Diethard: Yes, Zero. Of course.

Zero: Ohgi, you will be coordinating our reserve units based on Diethard's intel.

Ohgi: Sure, Zero.

Zero: Tohdoh, you will be commanding the main forces.

Tohdoh: That's fine, Zero, but that's normally your role. What will you be doing?

Zero: I'll be seducing Kururugi Suzaku to our side.

Tamaki: Wait, you mean like-- *makes obscene gestures*

Ohgi: Ugh, Tamaki, such a one-track mind. 'Seduce' in this context means--

Zero: No, no, it's exactly as Tamaki's suggesting.

The further you get in the Trails series, the less fun the ‘Side Characters rescue you from unwinnable boss fight’ trope becomes. Partly because unwinnable boss fights themselves wear thin when it’s your fifth in the same arc, and you’ve had plenty of time with the series’ combat by now, and partly because the scale of them get too big and everyone has to have at least one line of dialogue.

Past a certain point it stops feeling like a timely assist from friends and more like that one part in The Ultimate Showdown. You know the one.
