Hiiiiii moots! I have been luxuriating in the solace of the mountains and just came back down to sea level to discover that Golden Doe in a Valley of Shadow has passed 14,000 hits! That is INSANE to me and I am completely speechless! Thank you guys for your readership and incredible support. What an amazing birthday present 😍 I was also gifted some used audio equipment from my besties so I can start making audio versions of Golden Doe and A Court of Twisted Fate and I'm SO EXCITED! It may be a while yet but I can't wait to bring those to you. I'd love to know if you would prefer those as brand new separate audio versions, or if you prefer them embedded in the existing written version!

I am headed into a season where I will both simultaneously be trying to slow down and be more present while also becoming extremely busy. Many of you have been so sweet to send theory/Elriel asks to my inbox and I do want to share I will likely be taking a break from those for some time and will have limited time which I'll focus on using to keep updating A Court of Twisted Fate for you guys! I hope you are loving the new story as much as I've loved writing it. It's different, but I am just as passionate about it as I am about Golden Doe!

Of course!! If I’m being truthful I in part wrote it to answer my own questions 🤭

☕ Coffee or Tea: How often do you feel like you need to take breaks or unwind from working on your story?

Honestly, it just really depends on what my headspace is at that moment and what part of the story needs to be worked on. Currently? I find myself having to take more breaks or step away more than ever, because I have a lot going on in real life and sitting down to shoot the story is very draining. However, I can still spend hours writing, because I don’t find that as taxing as searching for poses or being in game.

But if I’m in the zone, I can go every single day of the week multiple hours a night dead focused on the scene I’m shootings. During these times though I’m usually not writing as much and I end up needing a break for at least a few days after. But if I’m being honest, I’m probably still scrolling through Pinterest or brainstorming so I can’t tell you I really ever take much of a real break at all 😅

🔮 Crystal Ball: How far into the future of your story can you see? Do you plan everything in advance or take things step by step?

I feel like I bore y’all with my planning process way too often so by this point y’all probably know my brain is a crystal ball filled with thoughts about the Darlingtons future lol

This is probably because I am not in any way a spontaneous person. I like plans and spreadsheets thank you very much, and the same goes for my creative free time little hobbies where I’m supposed to be more lax 😅

🍂 leaves: what does your editing process look like? how does your wip typically change as you work on it?

whenever I work on a wip it goes through several stages:

First there is the head theatre stage, which is basically me repeating scenes and stuff in my head, pretty vividly, over and over again until it clicks and makes sense to me

This is followed by the notebook stage, where I write by hand, slow and methodically, having braces in between text sometimes with a rough idea of what should belong there

Then there's the first digital stage, which often is the final stage. I break out the tab or sit down on my puter and type, and type and type, correct shit, type again, type some more and at some point I sit there with a rough chapter.

Buts (!) there is a expection to this, and that is the nowadays rare occasion of a muse smooching me so hard I type up a whole chapter in detail in one or two sessions.

sometimes on stream over discord for people I hold dear, but that's another story 👉👈

Ye okay ... the thing is, which one?

tbh I got a fuckton of OC's 😅, so I'll just go with the one I threw into the world of Ao3 (in terms of animexx, there is no animexx), as well as the three main girls of an original story that spans over several millenia :3

Marlianken (Overlord OC): Girl is the workaholic to end all workaholics, so to get her to relax in the first place is challenging, to put it mildly. But when she does (get beaten to do so, hehehe), she goes mostly for a classic, which is a hot bath, a glass of wine and a good book.

Delilah: She's very old. Like old old. To the point where 'modern' technology confuses or downright scares her. Also she already lives in the asscrack of nowhere, so her days are pretty calm to start with and she makes a point of pacing herself. But if she needs to calm down, she strolls out into the woods around the village she lives in. In rainy weather at best, cause less people :3

Diane: the most broken character I ever wrote tbh ... she's blind, has a weak heart and is the kind of chosen one that never wanted all of that bull in the first place and is very salty about people just kicking back, letting things get so far south they might as well end up north again while waiting for her, and her siblings, to be born. Her parents are dead, her lover too and she still needs to come to terms with the fact that fullfilling the prophecy made her immortal, so she will lose her siblings to old age some day too. So whenever she needs to relax, she goes for a hard shutdown; which includes noice canceling headphones, a hammock seat and music loud enough to drown out her own thoughts. Maybe a tee and fuzzy socks too ... if it's cold enough

finally, Vanessa: she grew up extremly sheltered, raised not by her parents, but her ancestors, who treated her like their own kid. For the longest time she was the madeningly happy sunshine child you'd expect to come out of this bubbled, loved uprising. That all changed with the day she learned that she's basically unkillable. Now whenever she needs to relax, she lays down in her bed, darkens the room and plays an recording from her childhood, where two of her ancestors sing a calming tune.

Grinning. All random but the last was "thinking" go figure. 🤔🤷‍♀️

Yeah my loves .. gotta work on my daily things. I've been thinking about not going out with wh for midday food. But. It's the only time I get away from here. I think the best thing to change is to get back into my early morning habits. Very hard for me though. Never an early riser. I am the kat that covers my head. Thank dad hammering & running saws at 7am on Saturdays as a kid. And always living near train tracks that are crazy loud, even 2 miles away! When worked at that store I was up at 5am to be there by 7am. 2 miles. And usually was in bed by 11.45pm~midnight. But I also got an afternoon nap ~4pm for ~1hr. So. Start bedtime prep at 11pm so in bed before midnight. And then up my alarms & add more. 5~10am.

I'm also wondering about my meds, specifically Levothyroxine. If my dosage is correct. Still tired, still lethargic, still low energy.. &.. cold hands & feet, breaking nails, fragile hair. All classic thyroid issues symptoms.

Now that it seems my ins/cobra is fixed [sigh. next $ due.] Paws crossed! I can call my pcp to reschedule. But got a busy day tomorrow. Counseling, new back tires on truck, premium due. I probably will be running all day.

So need to get my laundry done! I only have a couple pair of jeans that aren't too snug right now.😳😖🙈🙊 but. I was the girl with one pair of pants in 7th grade, ~4 in hs. More important things, like food, than asking my parents to spend on clothes. Clothes, rolltop desk, dad built bookcase headboard.. that was Christmas. I am both careful, frugal, & creative with money & belongings.

I dress up jeans.. or I just go simple. Tee, jeans, jacket & my Tijgeress cap today. Hair in a side braid .. course I also got wh diet coke on my nice tank. Sigh. Having boobs. Grin. I swear I need a bib! On went the jacket.🙄🙈🤷‍♀️ and yes my loves .. I was drinking water with lemon. I 95% of the time do. Rarely sodas. But oh how I miss Barq's, tea, coffee & hot chocolate! [I get coffee in my Bolthouse Mocha Cappuccino protein shake so have to be careful. I'm sensitive to caffeine. Not sure why.]

Blushing beet red. That's me calming down from driving & navigating around a mall. Which I rarely do. Just awesome greek restaurant there & wh wanted to look for shoes. I'm of the mind of find on line, after having my feet properly measured. To find the best deals. At least until I can be truly selective. More American made. Heck me made!

Start living a fully abundantly rich life! With my precious beloved mates!

Not be stagnating & dying ..

But doing & lovin life the way we want to! Whether that's enjoy lazy Sundays.. Having a church home. Going to football games on Saturdays. Making Christmas decorations & gifts. If we travel & do things. Heck, my life .. I'm rewriting my story. I want to do whatever makes us happy. Whatever that may be..

I will find my way back to my life's proper path because God's Guiding me. And He brings us together. It makes my soul feel fulfilled.. & motivating me to push myself. Not just words. But praying His Hands to make me right again!

Hello 🍁October🍂, my old friend! To me October is the epitome of Autumn. It is everything that is perfect and right about this time of year! (Although, November and December run very close seconds!) I think it is because this month is the true gateway to the holiday season, because, when October is over, then the fun REALLY starts! But, that's when the hectic activity and chaos also starts. To me, October is that break before the wonderful, beautiful chaos of the holidays happens.
