This one is part of the Metal Gear Valentine's exchange that @hc-svnt-dracones95 organized! ♥ And this little fragment is for @war-finding-reason (I really hope you like it!♥)

He is desperate to get home. On one of those days when everything seems to be utter crap, the only thing on Mason's mind is get home and find refuge. A few steps and it will all be over. He will be able to rest and have a moment of peace. "Clink, clink" The sound of the keys as he pulls them from his pocket and another click as he unlocks the door. Slowly moving the door… everything was so neat and spotless that he had to rub his eyes to see if it was real… "Finally, he's done something on his own…" he thought. He went to the fridge, thinking about getting something to drink to cool down. When he got to the kitchen, he found some things left out: bottles of water, some vegetables, some butter, and a bunch of tickets and crumpled papers, a calculator and a pencil. "It was too good to be true," he muttered, picking up the items and putting them in the fridge. He took out a bottle of sparkling water and closed the door… Before taking one last look at the papers… Papers… How he hates papers… and how Sam seems to love to keep all those crumpled papers around him: on the bedside table, in his jackets… in his trousers… How many times he has cleaned the lint trap of the washing machine, covered in paper… Although… Lately it seems to have got out of hand…

He raised an eyebrow… Something… Insignificant… was gnawing at his mind, pulling him towards the paper… He unfolded the papers one by one: tickets, notes… drawings?

"These are worse than the drawings I made as a child." A small laugh escaped Mason's lips… But… after the last ticket… there was a note.

"I know you might think I'm a piece of shit… And I don't blame you. Not at all. I know I've made you lose your patience countless times with my attitude… And… After all… Yes, I appreciate everything you've done for me… I really do! And I know these words may seem small in comparison to everything you've done for me… from saving my life to giving me a roof to live… I don't know how to express myself and I'm really struggling to get what I want to say down on this stupid piece of paper. And I know I have an awful handwriting… But I want you to know that…"

A large scrawl could be seen next, with Manson laughing as he imagined Sam's desperation…

"It's hard to say… but I've come to appreciate you for who you are… and for how you are with me, Manson. And I really want you to understand when I say that I like you…

I like you… Sounds awful, doesn't it? Because I'm afraid to tell the truth. Because I'm a coward to say that I've started to love you… Like the useless good-for-nothing you sometimes say I am. And I know it's not to hurt me. It's to shake me up and make me come to my senses, isn't it? Well, let me tell you, you've succeeded".

Just as Mason lowered the letter from his sight, he realized that Sam was standing in front of him. Their eyes met and there was a brief silence until Sam sighed. "I didn't expect you to read it like that…" "But?" Mason interrupted. "But it's true… I had all of this planned for today… and you got ahead of me…" Mason raised an eyebrow. Sam slowly approached him and handed him a small box of chocolates. "I think you should at least try them." "Huh…?" "Come on…" Sam said, taking a beer from the fridge. "I've picked out some films for us to watch. I suppose you won't complain if we do a bit of 'Netflix and Chill'… Maybe something else will happen..." Manson's face formed a subtle smile as he replied in a low voice: "Let's go…"

The Rocky Horror discourse is so annoying, upsetting, and transmisogynistic cuz it often starts off as trans women just honestly discussing how they have trauma related to it or how the film has all the classic transmisogynistic tropes of killer/rapist man crossdressing or how the creator has said some bigoted stuff, and the tme response to personal stories of trauma and actual media analysis is always the same cycle of responses.

"MY trans women friends love it!" Ok that doesn't matter to the point "It's important queer history!" That's why this discussion matters, we need people to understand that queer history can also be transmisogynistic "it's from 50 years ago society is DIFFERENT!" The world is not so different that transmisogyny doesn't exist "the creator is trans!" The creator has said transmisogynistic things and just because he himself might be tma doesn't mean he can't be transmisogynistic or that his transmisogyny doesn't actually influence his identity. "Rocky Horror is ONLY popular cuz transfems love it!" Spacelazar said this one in response to a post I made about actual trauma I have related to the movie, completely discarding my actual real trauma that's not saying you're not allowed to like or watch the movie, to claim that Rocky Horror is only popular cuz of transfems - that cis society isn't more why it's considered a cult classic.

And, tme people just refuse to empathize and often resort to name calling, memes, often times not just falling into misogynistic standards (hysterical women/trannies amiright guys) but also racist remarks (I saw a white tme person make a "woke" joke to mock a black person).

It's just completely dishonest and transmisogynistic. The discussion isn't "you're not allowed to watch Rocky Horror" or "you're a bad person for enjoying it" it's that it's a piece of problematic media that exhibits transmisogynistic bigotry and instead of using their big kid brains and acknowledging that and moving on, tme people really need Rocky Horror to be exonerated as this piece of perfection. (Tbf I think it's largely just cuz it's trans women having an issue, if cis men said Rocky Horror was offensive and misandric I'm sure people would be like oh yeah it is!).

Oh man I just realized I never updated y’all on how she’s going! I took a hiatus for a while but I’m hoping to finish her final details and maybe even take nice pics soon. She’s missing some mushroom growths rn, plus I’m considering adding white dots to her shoes

I think it's crazy how so many transfems have similar stories about tme people ignoring their distaste for Rocky Horror and I think it's wild how so many of us have trauma related to that movie caused by the people we saw as friends.

I think it's interesting that anytime transfems try to criticize the movie for transmisogynistic tropes, loads of tme people become combative, insulting, rude, they do not want us to critically analyze it, they do not want us to talk about it. I think it's equally interesting that if we then try to discuss the transphobia of Richard O'Brien, the creator, we are met with equal amounts of disdain. He has said trans women are not women, he has defended JK Rowling, but people will plug their ears about it. "He's nonbinary he can't be transphobic!" Or, transfems will just talk about the trauma of the movie, trauma related to the movie, there are so many joke posts about trans women getting forced to watch it by their tme "friends" and those are responded to with disdain and vitriol.

I have tried to rewatch the movie multiple times in the last decade, each time puts my brain back in that place where a cis woman friend who constantly talked about wanting me to be one of these characters for Halloween, betrayed my trust and put me in massive amounts of danger. When I watch it my brain goes back to the time I logged into Facebook to have some transphobe I don't know calling me FrankNFurter.

And it makes me wildly uncomfortable. These events in my life have just put a different sheen on the movie that makes it look so gross. And knowing I'm not the only one who feels this way about it so relieving, this movie held up as important LGBT cinema feels dehumanizing for me, and there's so many others that feel the same. But anytime we talk about it we are met with such contempt.

This isn't like, a coherent thing, it's just a personal rant. It feels so weird how tme people at large seem to walk over transfems over a movie. Which yeah yeah transmisogyny is a thing, but transfems not liking a movie seems so inconsequential. Why must we deal with the trauma of our so called friends not respecting our comfort, just to turn around years later and be ridiculed for having that trauma? It's just a fucking movie. And it has literally all the "man in dress bad" tropes we criticize other movies for. Why defend this movie to the death? It's just so annoying.
