I want to say 'obviously bi since you can play as male or female character and nothing change', but I myself already stated that her reasoning is the wish to protect the person that saved her from the blood that she was ensured is "dirty" and not some yandere antics...

So she is now bi just because I say so. XD

16. A childhood headcanon

I believe I did mention some stuff in a (very large -_-) ask from Crow that concerned ideas on her past and Arianna's, but the gist of it was that she was orphaned, and picked up in Healing Church since young age by Norbert (the guy before Amelia).

However? I've been enjoying an idea that there was a school connected to the Healing Church; you bet they controlled everything, especially after Cainhurst's fall... And that Adella was one of the people going there, and Edgar was a teacher! Before he ranked up to be trusted into Choir.

I am just trying to say...... the kids antics. Adella never really fit in with the team though, despite Henriett and Alfred being there too (future Healing Church hunters, mind you!) and in fact got others endangered by snitching a few times! She didn't mean bad, she was just a kind easy to fool by adults about "just trying to help". 🙄

24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?

She was the last one to see Brador in "reality", as that old man. When Henriett was snooPING AS usual, and Adella tried to control the situation and follow (remember that Henriett is a detractor!). By controlling the situation I mean trying to cut her with the poisoned knife the stealth style, but... long story short, she killed Brador instead. On accident.

Well, his death traumatized her more than himself (You can only say something like that for a FromSoft game, I swear...).

29. How do you think they would be as a parent?

Sigh... Probably not the best one. Adella strikes me as that kind of a (single) mother that would more or less project her issues and gripes onto her (only) baby. She didn't have some sort of convenience or a belief in her youth? Then her child should neither! She would also let her protectiveness to get the best out of her and not only control her child's circle of friends, but in the end lead that child to being very socially unadapted. Never seeing their peers, only Adella's adult friends and associates.

Her kid would either be grow up a huge weenie not prepared for real life and real relationships, OR grow 'in secret' from never trusting their mother (maybe even lying) and allowing their friends teach them life instead. This one depends on the child's starting stats personality.

I think a lot of this could be balanced out by a second parent that'd compensate for her quirks and weaknesses, though! Adella's good traits as a parent is protectiveness and being able to offer strong morals and some discipline, it should just be kept in reasonable amount; the second parent, on the contrary, should know how to offer freedom and some fun. Don't be surprised since what I told about a ship before, but I genuinely could see Arianna being a second parent that'd balance Adella well. x)

Well, yes, my first impression WAS the yandere nun antics, heheh. It is just one of those NPCs that give kind of clear vibe, and you just find nuances of it later, upon loredigging.

However, I also used to call her 'just female Alfred' - again, something I had to retract later, as I found more nuances comparing the two.

trying to figure about which of my ocs to talk about is so hard for some reason lol

these are my Hamato teens for the Fate of the Flowers au! during the main storyline (which would line up with the start of the canon series) Blossom is 12, Valentine is 14, Artemisia is 16, Charlotte is 13, and Moxie is 19!

a lot of her quirks and personality traits are based off of me when i was a kid! i actually didn’t plan on that at first, but i’m starting to lean into it more.

she definitely was obsessed with Warrior Cats at some point, her and Mikey drew pictures of everyone’s catsona.

while Raph is her favorite sibling, Donnie is definitely a very close second. before AND after he made her translation necklace. she enjoys listening to him talk and ramble about the things he makes.

she loves plants! she has a lot in her room that are all fake tho 🥺 (Moxie allows her to fill their house with plants since she can’t have real ones)

💕 Valentine ��

she’s practically another Leo: goofy, unserious, and has the most godawful humor ever. her and Leo laugh at each others jokes all the time, everyone else hates it.

a true fashionista, loves all kinds of clothes and styles! she loves dressing up and even dressing her siblings up, her favorite model is Mikey because he enjoys dressing up as well and is very carefree when it comes to most styles.

Val is not a quiet person, she’s loud and obnoxious and isn’t afraid to speak what’s on her mind. so if she is quiet? one of two things is going on: 1.) someone is getting the stare down of a life time, i’m talking could-bury-you-six-feet-down type of glare. or 2.) she’s really REALLY sad. it doesn’t happen often, but there are sometimes where she’s just unexplainably sad.

lovingly bites her siblings 💕 nothing weird or too hard, but she just… NEEDS to chew on something. usually it’s Raph that lets her nom on his arm like a chew toy bc he has the toughest skin, but sometimes Temi allows it. (Donnie tried making a chew stim toy for her but she ended up shredding it after a day)

🦉 Artemisia 🦉

Temi is cool, calm, and collected. it takes a lot to startle or faze her in anyway. think of past variations of Leo.

i chose silver as her color bc i read that silver is one of the colors that the goddess Artemis likes! which is also why her marks look like moons.

she spends most of her time meditating, mainly for practice but also bc that’s how she gets her visions! it’s important that she has a vision every other week otherwise she’ll start getting migraines and even bouts of vertigo.

like Donnie, she doesn’t enjoy physical touch. most of the time it makes her skin feel like it’s burning but occasionally she’ll get really cuddly and everybody takes advantage of this time to get as much physical touch in as possible. (sometimes she feels really bad about it, but everyone assured her that there’s nothing wrong with it)

🦈 Charlotte 🦈

when given the choice to pick out her own mask color, she wasn’t sure which one to pick because she didn’t exactly have a favorite color. she ended up choosing a dark red because it reminds her of Raph and she always wants to remember what he did for her.

Raph picked out her name, she didn’t exactly have one beforehand so everyone was trying to think of a suitable name for her and he came up with Charlotte because it means “free man”. it ended up making her cry tears of joy.

she’s actually quite shy at first and extremely unsure of herself, it makes her frustrated because she feels like she was robbed of a childhood with her siblings and watching them interact makes it worse. (she knows it’s not their fault, but it doesn’t make it any less painful)

she does not get along with Mikey, plain and simple. she doesn’t hate him or anything like that, but he does help out Draxum to get his life together and it makes her… mildly uncomfortable (and slightly annoyed, but she won’t ever tell anyone that). you know that episode where they all come over with the promise of having dinner with April’s mom but it’s actually Draxum? yeah, she was there for that. she took one look at his face and left immediately, even after Mikey asked her to stay. it was too painful.

👾 Moxie 👾

they are a grumpy, angsty bitch. honestly comes across as really harsh and mean to everyone but the turtles (they’ve all dealt with Donnie their whole lives, they aren’t deterred)

their birth mother is actually a bakeneko yokai who met Lou Jitsu while she was working for Big Mama, making them half yokai. (i’m actually planning on writing something on how this gets revealed and who exactly her mom is)

despite acting like they don’t like the turtles, each of them are welcome in their house at any hour. they truly care about them a lot but would rather eat hot iron nails than admit that <3

80% of the time, they are high as shit. the only time they aren’t is when they’re working (ie. streaming, hacker tasks, situations that need their upmost focus) or if they head over to the lair. they surprisingly don’t want the turtles to know about their weed usage.

A new Legacy Challenge

The Grecian Mythology Legacy Challenge

Synopsis: Before there were what we call the modern gods and goddesses of today from Mount Olympus, or The Olympians, there were those that came before them. Like every story, it has its origins. Gaea, birthed from Chaos, and Ouranus, birthed from Gaea, who then began to create their own legacy. In this Legacy Challenge, you will tell the story of the gods and goddesses from it’s very core to what it is today, from Gaea to Zeus and his many, many children.

Getting Started/Rules:

Disclaimer: For the purposes of this challenge,we’re just going to start out with Gaea and Ouranos as there are MANY MANY children born from Chaos and Gaea, followed by Ouranos and Gaea, and that is just too much time and energy spent. CC and Mods are also very much welcomed!

It would very much help to start a New Game, and by creating your sims. They must be married and of the opposite gender. Gaea=Mother Earth and Ouranos=The Father/Starry Sky. They may look however you please, if you have the Expansion Pack Get To Work, they can be aliens, if you have The Game Packs Realm of Magic, Vampires. You are very much welcome to make them into Mages or Vampires, the choice is up to you! If you have seasons you may start in any season you see fit.

After you are done creating your founders, you MUST move them into Newcrest on the biggest Lot which should be Twin Oracle Point. (It even sounds mythological XD). If you want more of a challenge try living Off-Grid.

You may not have any kind of job as you are just starting out, so in order to make your living wages you may:

Fish

Garden

Paint

Wood Working

Sculpting

And sell Collectibles (anything found)

Generation alpha : The Creation

Gaea, also known as mother earth, very much loved her children, too bad Ouranos didn’t feel the same and locked them all away to never be seen again… supposedly…

This will end Generation alpha with Cronus taking over.

Generation Beta: The Creation 2

Just like his father before him Cronos found out through the prophecies that one of his children will overthrow him and become ruler, Rhea is not pleased by this and devises a plan just like her mother (in law) before her. You may start to have jobs/careers this generation

And never have contact with him again until he is a teenager (You may switch back and forth between the households)

Zeus may start to look for his “Hera”

Succession:

Like the previous Generation once Cronos is an old man who fights with his son (teenage) Zeus multiple times. Cronos then dies from exhaustion or anger (you can cheat this) and Zeus takes over.

This will end generation Beta with Zeus succeeding his Father.

Generation Gamma: A New Age and Ruler

Once Cronos is out of the picture for good, Zeus can marry his beloved sweetheart Hera. But, he can keep his adulterous ways to himself, right... right?

You know the deres things? Like tsunderes and kuuderes, and yanderes? What dere would you think would fit each character in bsts? There are a lot of deres to be honest. Sorry if this confuses you. I'm bad at English

Anon, I just spend countless hours researching deres and trying to fit all the characters into the one that suits them the best. Did not mean to spend so much time but hahaha....I get too passionate about BSTS related things. XD

Everything is under the cut!

Deredere: Kasumi, Qu, Kongou, Unei

Deredere + Hajidere : Sinju, Ginsei

Hajidere: Yoshino

Oujidere: Maica, Mokuren

Hiyakasudere: Sotetsu, Akira, Zakuro

Hiyakasudere + Kitikudere: Rico

Nemuidere: Menou

Danredere: Gui

Darudere: Taiga

Kuudere: Sin

Tsundere: Mizuki

Byoukidere: Heath

Sadodere: Haseyama

Goudere + Dorodere (kinda): Ran

There are some characters that I literally can’t find one dere that would fit them.

Ran: kinda a dorodere due to his violent tendencies and unpredictable side but also a deredere, but also has this side that can put people straight. If he loves someone, he would be a ray of sunshine, cute, but would get a bit fussy if he didn’t get what he wanted.

Takami: Seems distant but doesn’t really fit any of the distant deres because he has a warmer side to him (might or might not be for show). He also likes to tease MC but isn’t a hiyakasudere, and he is intelligent and can give threats to people but isn’t violent. If he loves someone, Takami would be a dom type but would also treat his s/o like a princess. Maybe, just maybe, could be borderline yandere, but we don’t have enough info about him.

Hari: Oujidere but not “bow down to me” type, he has a deredere side where he is nice and is willing to help others out, but like Ran, can also show someone a much-needed mirror. I feel like he would be a Hajidere with the person he loves, but at the same time, he would have a bit of a dom side.

Yakou: kind but not a deredere, has a kinda insecure side but isn’t a mean person, and he is hardworking but loses confidence if there’s a slight downfall. If he loves someone, I think he would be immensely loyal but would also be a little insecure, thinking he will lose you.

I saved these two for the end because I am going to write an essay on them as expected I hope. XD

Kei

Has a bit of kamidere with being prideful and arrogant, but in all fairness, he’s arrogant because he knows he’s good...and he IS good. He doesn’t tell people to treat him like a god nor wants to be treated like a god. Honestly, he doesn’t care for your opinion unless you matter to him lol. He knows who he is and doesn’t need anyone to tell him. Kei is also very fair as seen with Yoshino and letting his teammates be center.

Kei is there to protect MC and even went as far as to put his celeb career on hold for MC’s sake, so he is not self-centered. He has also saved the members of Starless from being fired by the universe’s worst boss on multiple occasions, be it at the beginning of BSTS, during borderline 1, or borderline 2. For BL2, he even temporarily suspended his own team to save Team W, and then apologized to his teammates and thanked them for being by his side. Also, he doesn’t see any of the Starless members as inferior and doesn’t pick fights unless someone Rico starts them first. And for those of you who think he mistreats certain characters, then by all means message me...in Kokuyou’s words “If you’re selling a fight, I’ll buy it”. XP

He’s very protective, loving towards MC but isn’t by any means a yandere or an obsessive-shy fanboy. He shows MC an extremely soft side that is reserved for MC’s eyes ONLY. Yes, he has devoted himself to MC, but he doesn’t say yes to everything MC says, so no, he’s not an undere. As a lover, Kei would be the knight/angel in shining armor and would shower s/o with all the love and happiness in the world. He would not put any restrictions on s/o and would go to any extent to protect his love, even if it means giving up his life. Is there a “perfect lover - knight in shining armor-guardian angel” dere? :P

Kokuyou

Has a bit of kamidere as well, but his kamidere is more in the direction of he’s the top and will be center, is arrogant, expect people to listen to him (or pick a fight if they disagree lol), and also his title of Mr. Starless. Again, in all fairness, he has been the face of Starless and handled the previous Starless after the Mikis/Iwami disappeared.

He isn’t a tsundere or a complete kuudere, but has both dere traits here and there - harsh, hot-blooded, loner, and cool. He doesn’t fit either dere though because Kokuyou is not the calm/collected never panics type. He shows his emotions as is, so he’s more of the clean-hearted person who doesn’t hide anything and says it how it is. He’s a loner (not anti-social) in the sense that he doesn’t care for chummy relationships (be it love or friendship) but he doesn’t push people away from him. I mean Mizuki literally sees him as an older brother, and Kokuyou picked Mizu off the streets and fed him/helped him out. He may seem like a tsundere because he’s initially cold to people he doesn’t know and warms up slowly but he’s really not.

He’s just a rough around the edges type of guy who has been through a lot in his life and doesn’t want to associate himself with others, maybe due to his past or not finding the right person. As a lover, Kokuyou would be a caring and loving man but not the sugar-sweet type. He would be protective as hell but not a yandere, and he would give his s/o space and would want space in return. He’s not the type to cling nor is he a type to like clingy people. Like Kei, Kokuyou would willingly give up his life to protect his s/o. I feel like Kokuyou would value honesty, even if he may initially get upset hearing the harsh words. Is there a “rough around the edges - still loving - protective - will not take any sh*t” dere?

HLVRAI Oneshot: Panic

Here I am flicking back through my massive collection of wips and slowly chipping away at them since I have some neat ideas stashed away I want to actually finish and not just leave in limbo for ten thousand years XD

Word count: 3610

Summary: There were only three things that Benrey was truly scared of. The first, skeletons. The second was Gordon hating him. The third…Was the sound of Joshua crying.

Fear.

An emotion Benrey had little to no experience with.

Of course, that did not mean that he never felt fear, but it was rare for something to make him feel afraid. Pain never frightened him due to his natural healing abilities, considered to be more of an annoyance than something bad, nor was he scared of death.

Being able to respawn had its benefits, after all.

It was somewhat ironic that he had only started to feel fear, genuine fear, after sneaking into Black Mesa and taking on the role of being a security guard. In the darkness of those labs he had seen something.

Something that reminded him of why he had fled in the first place. A flashback to the moment he had first felt that heart-stopping, nauseating sense of dread and fear.

Benrey was scared of skeletons. Not just his own in that metaphorical closet, but of those that followed and watched. The ones whose whispered words floated through the air, indecipherable to all but him.

Their promises and threats.

Skeletons never forgot.

… Working at Black Mesa had also brought about more chances for him to interact with the local humans, and not so humans, that he worked with. Most of them were pretty bland, sounding monotonous and bored, but he had managed to make friends with some of the more… explosive, and energetic personalities.

Like Gordon.

His introduction and subsequent interactions with Gordon brought about his second experience with fear. Not that he was scared of the man, despite all the times Gordon had shot at him or threatened him. It was like watching an angry kitten hiss and spit.

Adorable, and not at all threatening.

No, his fear revolved around Gordon hating him. Disliking him, fighting with him, and all those other icky negative feelings. The anger that had taken over the earlier part of their budding friendship had been… painful, to say the least. Every time he interacted with Gordon, he felt scared.

Scared in a way that he had never felt when interacting with others. Scared he would mess up and never be able to fix his mistake. Scared he would hurt Gordon-

And he had.

It was awful feeling such a way, looking back and cringing at how his fear tainted nearly every interaction he had with Gordon. How hard he had pushed for friendship, for companionship, without really conveying his intentions or how he felt. It was something he still struggled with, discussing things that seemed obvious to so many people but were confusing, downright alien, to him.

But, in the end, everything had worked out alright and he had managed to apologize for the pain he had caused and what he had done, and Gordon had apologized as well. A welcome surprise that helped set their relationship down a more positive path, even if that fear still lurked in the back of his mind.

Fortunately, Gordon was there to reassure him and help work through any problems.

His third source of fear, funnily enough, involved Gordon’s son, Joshua.

Joshua Freeman.

Like his father, Benrey was not scared of the young boy. In all actuality, he cared about him immensely. Little Joshie was a bro, a cool cat, and the second human Benrey had found himself truly caring for. They were not quite family, but those protective instincts were there.

The want to keep Joshua safe, to make sure he was happy and healthy no matter what.

Which was why Benrey was so, very scared.

Kids were small, fragile, and that made it all the easier for them to get hurt, or die. Plus some kids could be downright nasty to their peers, something Benrey had learned about first hand when the school had contacted Gordon about a situation. Things were fine now, but the immense amount of dread and worry, the fear, that had filled Benrey upon learning about what happened had been… something, to say the least.

Gordon needed to fix a total of four, thankfully small, holes in the ceiling afterwards.

It would not be correct to say that Benrey hovered over Joshua as his protective feelings culminated in a sort of awareness. He did not hover, but he was aware of the young boy, aware of where he was and what he was doing. There were times where he was even aware of Joshua’s heartbeat.

Something that helped quite a bit when Benrey was awake and Joshua was caught in a nightmare.

Funnily enough, these traits made Benrey the perfect fit for acting as a sort of babysitter when Gordon had to go out and leave Joshua at home. Since the boy already had a slight grasp on how to take care of himself, such as making sandwiches with leftovers and how to clean up after himself, it made the whole “watching over the kid and keeping him from dying” significantly easier.

… Granted, Benrey still had to take a crash course on what not to do when taking care of human kids.

Accidental toxin consumption, drowning in a tub, tripping and cracking their head on something-

Kids were just so. Damn. Fragile.

Fear, fear, and more fear. The fear that something would happen to Joshua when he was not paying attention. The fear of what might happen, the dozens of possible situations. Fires and explosions, and sudden earthquakes-

Babysitting was a bit of a challenge for Benrey, to say the least.

Fortunately, Joshua was a pretty responsible kid with a good head on his shoulders, and while there was the occasional mishap that would occur, it was never anything too serious.

… Until now, that is.

Things had been going smoothly, Joshua and Benrey were gaming together while Gordon was out with Shea completing whatever important information thingy they needed to do. Benrey knew that it involved Joshua in some regard, something involving his sleep therapist? Maybe? Whatever it was, the young boy had not expressed an interest in going, so it had been decided that Benrey would watch over him until Gordon came back.

A simple plan that was easy to execute. Just make sure Joshie ate, did his homework, and didn’t get too bored.

Simple, that is, until Benrey heard the sounds of Joshua crying in another room.

He immediately jumped up out of the chair he had been seated in and sprinted towards where the sounds were coming from. He quickly noted that the crying was coming from Joshua’s room, and without hesitating he ran inside.

There he found the young boy seated on the carpeted floor, one leg bent and tucked up against his chest while his arms were tightly wrapped around it. His hands were clasped tightly over his wounded knee and his head, which had previously been facing the ground, snapped up to stare at Benrey.

Tears were already falling out of the corner of Joshie’s eyes. It made him cringe at the sight, discomfort building up within him.

“it’s gonna be okay, joshie bro.” Benrey soothed as he crouched down in front of the crying boy, looking him in the eye while sending him what he hoped was a reassuring smile that conveyed none of his worries. “gonna get you fixed up lickity split.”

Okay, Joshie was hurt, but Gordon had given him an overview on how to fix cuts and scrapes. First he had to check it out, then he had to clean it, and then slap a bandaid or some other bandage on it depending on the size. Easy problem, easy fix-

Benrey’s train of thought came to an abrupt halt as his eyes landed on the boy’s scraped knee, fixating on the droplets of blood that were slowly budding up with the occasional droplet rolling down and leaving a streak of crimson in its wake.

Blood, blood-

Gordon, hunched over and full of panic, of fear. Eyes wide in the gloom as the soldiers manhandled him, pinning him in place. His struggling.

His pleading.

His screaming as the blade dug into his arm, blood spurting out of the freshly made wound. The stench of copper permeating the air.

Tommy desperately trying to get to Gordon, Coomer holding the other man back before he got hurt.

The cracking sound of bone breaking.

Gordon dropping to the ground, screams reaching a pitch higher than Benrey thought possible.

An arm, discarded, as the pool of blood around the nearly unconscious man grew.

It was all his fault-

Unbeknownst to Benrey, Joshua had quickly picked up on the change in his mood. He sniffled, wiped his eyes once more, and took stock of the situation. Benrey definitely looked upset, and was still staring at his knee.

First he stood up, wincing as a sharp sting of pain jolted through his knee, but he ignored it in favour of focusing on Benrey. The man’s breathing was quick and raspy, his skin pale, and it looked like he was sweating. He seemed to be staring at some very far away, trembling the entire time.

It reminded Joshua of something his father had gone through, a panic attack. He knew his dad took medication for it sometimes, but he knew it would be a bad idea to give Benrey some.

You never, ever gave someone medication that did not belong to them. An important lesson both his parents had instilled in him.

Fortunately, his dad has also been taught different things that would help calm him down, which he had then passed on to Joshua. Surprisingly enough, the young boy found them to be useful when he was feeling quite anxious, so if they helped him and helped his dad, then it made sense that maybe those methods would help Benrey too!

But before he could help Benrey, he needed to help himself and fix whatever had caused the man to panic so bad in the first place. Maybe then he would start to calm down and feel better. With a plan in mind, Joshua nodded to himself and rushed to the bathroom where he knew the first aid kit was kept, wanting to be away from Benrey for as little time as possible.

After scrubbing off the bit of blood that was still staining his skin with some warm water, and wincing a bit from the friction, he quickly dried his knee off and placed a bandaid over the wound. Now it was all covered up and fixed!

And hopefully would not cause Benrey to get worse…

Joshua rushed back to his room, Benrey thankfully still in the same spot and just as out of it as he was before. A determined look crossed the young boy’s face as he swiftly got to work. Carefully grabbing the man’s arm, Joshua shook the limb to see if he could snap him out of his panicked state this way.

“Benrey? You okay?”

Nothing. No response.

Dejection set in for a moment before Joshua brushed his feelings to the side, focusing on continuing with his next plan. Still holding onto Benrey’s arm, he started trying to pull the man towards his bed. Of course, there were several problems with this plan, like the fact that Joshua lacked the real strength to move the catatonic man, but to his surprise, his actions garnered a response.

Granted, it was only Benrey looking at him, eyes still blank and breathing uneasy, but it was something!

Joshua smiled at the progress and got to work on trying to get him to move. It took some time, and careful maneuvering combined with some soft-spoken suggestions, but eventually he was able to achieve his goal.

Once Benrey was finally settled on his bed, Joshua got to work doing what he could to help him feel comfortable. A weighted blanket was placed on his shoulders and a stuffed animal was placed in his arms, Benrey instinctively tightly holding onto the toy and rubbing the soft, warm fur.

Slowly but surely, Benrey started to calm down. First, his breathing began to slow, returning to a more normal pace, and then the trembling eventually came to a halt. Encouraged by these hopeful changes, Joshua stayed glued to his side, softly humming under his breath as he kicked his legs.

He would wait for Benrey, no matter how long it took.

Fortunately, the man was slowly roused from his frightened state, awareness returning to him. His eyes opened and he blinked slowly, as if he was just waking up from a dream, before glancing at the worried boy beside him. Benrey mumbled, voice strangely quiet and weak.

“joshie?”

“Mhm?” Joshua paused in the kicking of his legs in order to look up at the man, eyes wide and full of worry. “You feeling better, Benrey?”

“... yeah.” He replied after thinking about how best to respond. “thanks for… uh, helping me out and stuff. real pro gamer move.”

Joshua beamed at his words, mood brightening in an instant, and he opened his mouth to ask if the man needed anything. However, before he could start speaking, Benrey continued his train of thought.

“you... you shouldn’t have to… deal with this. with me. i’m sorry.” He mumbled as he huddled up in the blanket, hiding his face from view. He felt…

Like a disappointment, pathetic he had forced Joshua to deal with his problem, sad to know that the boy had seen him in such a state, angry with himself-

Bad.

He felt really, really bad.

Benrey was snapped out of his mental torment by the sensation of someone touching his knee. He jolted and looked back at Joshua, easily noticing how much more concerned the boy had gotten in response to his silence.

He winced.

He didn’t want to make Joshie feel bad, too.

Then again, that was practically his specialty at this point. Making people feel bad. How many times had he made Gordon rage, shout and curse, or breakdown due to his shenanigans. How many times had he felt Tommy’s silent disappointment and the weight of the team pressing down upon him.

How many times would he make Joshie feel bad-

“oof!” The sudden weight against his side knocked both those thoughts from Benrey’s mind, as well as the air from his lungs. He wheezed softly as he instinctively wrapped an arm around Joshua.

Joshua, who had in a moment of brilliance, decided to fling himself at the man in order to hug him.

“Don’t think sad things.” Joshua insisted as he buried his face into Benrey’s shoulder.

“i’m not-” Benrey started to object before the boy continued speaking.

“You are sad! Dad gets the same look on his face when he thinks about sad stuff.” The boy huffed, clinging tightly to Benrey. “Like… when he and mom first split up, he always looked so sad. Like he had done something bad and felt guilty.”

Well, this conversation had taken quite the accidental, serious turn. Rarely had he ever heard Joshua talk about the divorce, same with Gordon and Shea. From what he knew the family had managed to cope quite well with the two adults separating, but dramatic shows about breakups, the law, and hospitals, had shown him that humans generally did not feel good after such a thing, and the last thing he wanted was for Joshua to linger and think about potentially bad stuff. Time to talk and change topics, even if he did not want to.

“i... i’m supposed to-to watch over you and stuff. keep you safe, but… but i didn’t. that’s bad.”

“But it’s not your fault! You didn’t do anything bad!” Joshua objected, backing up a bit so he could look Benrey in the eye, despite the man doing his best to avoid eye contact. His fingers dug deeply into the plushie, and his breathing grew faster.

He messed up, he messed up, he messed up-

Seeing that the conversation was going to go nowhere with Benrey getting all panicked, the young boy decided it would be best to stay quiet for now and help him relax. The last thing he wanted was for Benrey to feel sad or guilty, he had seen enough of that when his father and mother apologized to him for their separation, and it always made Joshua feel weird.

Nothing bad was happening to him, if anything it was nice to see his parents become happier, to see them less stressed. He wanted Benrey to be happy, for him to never have to go through a panic attack like that again.

But… that also meant he would need help that Joshua could not provide. He needed the stuff that helped his dad, adult things he knew little about, but hopefully his dad would know something about how to help.

As Benrey slowly calmed down from his second panic attack, Joshua spoke up once more, wanting to talk about one last thing before he left the man alone to rest and recover.

“Benrey… can I tell dad about what happened?”

The question made Benrey immediately cringe in discomfort, ducking his head and hiding himself under more of the blanket until only his glowing eyes were visible.

“you... uh, you gotta do that?”

“Dad knows more about this kinda stuff, so he’d be able to help!”

Help…? With… whatever that was? With his fears? The thought of such a thing was unsettling to say the least. In all his years, Benrey had never actively sought out help, his interactions with Gordon being outliers of course.

What would being helped entail, anyways? Would Gordon try to get him to go to therapy, something that would never, ever truly be able to help him, or would the physicist push him to find help from other sources.

“you sure you wanna bother feetman about this?” Benrey asked, wanting to both distract himself from the darker thoughts lurking in the back of his mind, and out of genuine curiosity. “you... you really wanna help? why?”

“Because I don’t want you to feel bad, and dad doesn’t either.” Joshua replied, as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. “You’re important to us, you’re dad’s gamer boyfriend! And my… uh, I’m not sure, but you’re still family, and family helps family!”

“... joshie, bro, you-you’re breaking my heart, my man.” Benrey mumbled as he sent the boy a shaky smile. He still felt fairly drained from his two panic attacks, especially since he could feel the lingering dread and fear, but he did his best to push it to the side for now.

Later, he could deal with it later.

… Hopefully with Gordon.

“So that’s a yes?”

“yuuuuuuup, it’s a pog-ya.” The man grinned as he reached out to ruffle the boy’s hair. “you... you did good joshie, real good, with the uhhhhhhh helping and stuff. emotions are bleck, super unpoggers.”

Eyes full of love and support, Joshua leaned forward and hugged Benrey. “It’s okay to not be okay. Dad says it’s healthy to cry when you feel really sad and to ask for help when you need it.”

“... feetman’s got a point sometimes.” He was unable to fully suppress the tears that quickly built up in the corners of his eyes, the words hitting home for some strange reason.

It’s okay to not be okay.

It’s okay to ask for help.

It’s okay to cry.

A string of dull sweet voice escaped Benrey, and Joshua hugged him even tighter. This was the worst time to be having such an emotional revelation, but then again he supposed there was no good time to contemplate facing such a vulnerable part of him, to think about addressing his fears and emotions.

Emotions he had tried so hard to suppress, to hide, but always bubbled up and hurt him in the end.

You couldn’t run from your own shadow, after all.

“know when feetman’s gonna be back?” He asked as he let out a quiet sigh, more of that dull sweet voice filling the air. He felt so tired, so drained. All he wanted was to take a nap and wake up in twenty years.

… Not that he could, of course. Too many games to play and too many special moments between him, Joshie, and Gordon he would miss.

“Nope.” Joshua replied while shaking his head. “Want me to stay?”

Damn this kid could be so observant.

“... can if you wanna.” Benrey muttered while flopping onto his side and hiding himself more under the blanket, making the signature benrrito they all knew and loved.

Rather than verbally respond, Joshua just scooted over a bit so he was leaning against Benrey’s back. After cuddling up to the exhausted man, he started humming.

The tune was simple, soft, and definitely from some Sonic game that Benrey could not identify at the moment. It was one of the older ones, that was for sure, older in the context of the series’ lifespan rather than actual age, and it helped him calm down further.

Slowly, his eyes began to shut and his breathing evened out. The tension that had gripped his body faded, and the chill that had taken over him began to fade due to the warmth of the blanket combined with Joshua’s presence.

He was still scared. Scared of his reaction to the bl-

…

The red stuff that was definitely not cherry sauce, and he was scared of what that reaction meant. He was scared to think about such things, things he had never contemplated before.

Scared to confront what he had ignored for so long. But, even with this fear, he would try.

It’s okay to ask for help.

He would try. Try for Joshua, for Gordon, and just maybe for himself, too.

Let's say my Jules Vernes books collection in Jean de Bonnot editions with beautiful binding and golden details on the blue covers. I got them from my late grand-father, on my father side of the family and I will always cherish these books.

Pegasus - Describe a moment when you felt free.

When I was still in Guiana, I had the chance to see rockets that took-off at the Kourou spatial base. It was awesome. Just seeing this made me feel soooo small against the infinity of the sky and the stars to which the rocket was aimed. I always felt like that when I saw Ariane. Sometimes it took place while I was swimming - like I used to do everyday. So I just let myself float on my back, raised my eyes and just waited a little bit to see the rocket fly in the sky over my home or the swimming-pool where my swimming club was located. That sensation of being suspended between the sky and the earth. Seeing something man-made raising toward space. Embracing the fact that I was facing something so incredibly old, beyond my comprehension. Something that would exist eons after my death. Knowing that I really don't mean shit. I’ll never forget that.

It's far from being unique but the fact that I think in a non-linear way. It can be exhausting especially when I must focus on a task but it's also useful and dope !

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Three Hundred Sixty-Four: What You See ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata ] [ SasuHina, vulgarity, death, smoking ] [ Verse: Oil and Blood ] [ AO3 Link ]

Appearances can be deceiving.

For instance...Hinata had a teacher back in middle school who, for all intents and purposes, seemed a nice enough man. An active part of the community, well-liked by his students, and a staple part of the school in which he taught. He was lenient with those who needed it, and tough on those who he knew could do better.

But during her last year, when she was no longer in his class, a rather startling discovery was made.

On the run from another province, he was accused of murdering several middle school girls at his previous school. But with the help of underground cosmetic mods, he had his face changed enough to escape notice, starting a new life on the other side of the country where he could once again begin stalking students.

Thankfully he never had the chance - he was caught when a substitute for another teacher managed to recognize him despite the mods. He was arrested, and later imprisoned for his crimes.

From then on, Hinata knew better than to trust what face people put forward. What you see isn’t always true.

Which is what makes her newest...friend? so intriguing.

Since stumbling upon the half-dead man in an alleyway, Hinata has been unable to escape one Uchiha Sasuke: a member of the infamous yakuza currently overseen by his father. Having been beaten and stripped of his (rather expensive) mods, it was Hinata who, on an insomnia walk, hefted him from the refuse and took him to a doctor she knew.

And that was only the beginning of a bond that saw her kidnapped, nearly involved in a gunfight, and then marked as a target by the Uchiha group’s biggest rivals: the Senju.

Since then, it’s been Sasuke’s self-imposed mission to keep the woman safe as repayment for her kindness, and also for his failing to protect her when he first attempted to fulfill his debt to her.

Which means that outside work and her time spent at home...Hinata has been stuck with a rather interesting bodyguard.

Sasuke doesn’t hide what he is. Be it his mods, his tattoos, his smoking or his sometimes coarse language, he doesn’t shy from his title of gangster. He knows that what his family does is unlawful. Dangerous and harmful, even. But he does have at least one code of conduct: repay his debts.

Having someone like him in the presence of someone like Hinata makes a very strange pair indeed.

You see, Hinata’s father runs the largest Japan-based medical mod company. She was once heiress...before daring to call out his hypocrisy. She now lives in a tiny apartment in a rather...questionable part of town. Which is how she found Sasuke. And she works for a mod insurance claim company. Which, admittedly, she hates. But she does do her part of under-the-table dealing to help those who truly need it find underground care.

Hence her knowing the good doctor.

But it goes without saying that the pair of them going, well...anywhere together tends to draw some very confused gazes. After all, most wonder what on earth such a sweet looking young woman could ever be doing running around with someone like him.

Sure, Hinata hasn’t ever hurt anyone - in fact she herself has been the victim of violence more than once. But she does technically break the law rather often, given her redirection of insurance claims to illegal operations that go beneath the government radar. Sure, she does so for morally-just reasons...but it’s still illegal.

She wonders what people would think if they knew: that such a sweet, trustworthy, likeable face has been lying to her employer and her government for years now, costing them mountains of money with every customer or patient she reroutes into the less-than-legal channels.

Sure, it’s nothing compared to Sasuke’s repsheet, but...still, worse than most would assume just looking at her.

And the same, she feels, goes for Sasuke.

During their time together, she’s observed him as carefully as she can, not wanting to be caught snooping. It’s something she’s always been rather good at. Her eyes are pale enough that most people don’t notice them slid to their corners to watch them. Sasuke, so often, just seems so...normal. He drinks coffee with heavy cream (but no sugar - he doesn’t like bitter, but nor can he stand sweet). He’s taken to feeding the stray cats around her apartment building. She saw him completely interrupt traffic to help an elderly neighbor of hers cross to the proper street from her window on his way to see her once.

Sure, he might do bad things...but he isn’t a bad person.

After all, he’s doing what he’s doing for her out of a sense of honor. He could just flip her the bird and leave her to defend herself from the Senju, helpless. Maybe it’s wholly for himself, for upholding his code of ethics...but it doesn’t feel that shallow.

He doesn’t just stand around looking tough. He talks to her, argues with her, and even jokes with her...though his humor is bone dry. There’s been many a moment when she’s forgotten why he’s around. They bicker and banter like...friends.

...she’s almost forgotten what it’s like to have friends. High school was rather lonely, and her shuffle right into a dead-end job and a micro apartment didn’t really lend itself to making them. Sure, she and the doctor get on fairly well, but...they’ve only ever seen one another for business. Technically that’s the reason Sasuke’s around, but...it just feels...different.

...so maybe she’s not as annoyed by his playing knight as she was when it all first started.

“Now what are you doing?”

“Hm?”

Chin in a hand, Sasuke juts it slightly toward her. “You’ve been staring at your HUD for like fifteen minutes. I can’t see it, but I can tell.”

At his accusation, Hinata goes a light pink. “...uh…”

“Watching porn in public?”

“W-w-what?! No!” Her voice jumps several octaves, drawing the glances of other patrons. They’re currently seated in an outdoor section at the front of a cafe having coffee. Sasuke insisted he needed to refuel, and she never minds a cup herself.

He gives a cheeky, lazy grin, posture still lax. “Then what are you doing?”

“I’m...playing a game.”

“Oh? A game that involves staring at your HUD?”

“It’s...not the most interactive, sure. It’s more of a daily click sort of...t-thing.”

“Ah, gotcha. So you’re not really a gamer girl.”

At that, her lips purse in a pout. “Hey, I play games at home. This is just more...maintenance.”

“Sounds exciting.”

“It’s...cute. You collect cats.”

Immediately, something lightens in his expression, and his posture becomes a bit more attentive. “...oh yeah?”

She doesn’t miss all that, but suppresses a smile, not wanting to drive him off the subject. “Mhm. It’s an older game, Neko Atsume. People used to play it on their phones.”

Sasuke hums in acknowledgement...and something tells her he’s already on his HUD looking it up. She knows already how fond he is of cats. See the above mentioned strays he’s pseudo-adopted. “Sounds...boring, but cats are all right, I guess.”

“Like I said, it’s mostly a daily click sort of thing. You check to see what cats are around, w-what they’ve left you, if they took treats…”

His eyes flicker, and though she can’t see his HUD herself, she already knows what he’s looking at. “...huh.”

“Want to play?”

“I might. If I get bored enough.”

She just gently rolls her eyes.

...a week later, he approaches her with a scowl, and she actually braces herself for some kind of argument.

“What have you done?”

“I...w-what?”

“That stupid...cat game!”

She blinks.

“The whole damn syndicate is playing it now! I can’t stop checking it! We almost missed a raid because the wrong people got distracted!”

Before Hinata can stop it, a snort escapes her, both hands coming to cover her nose and mouth. Eyes go wide. “I...I’m sorry…?”

“I can’t believe this…”

“Sasuke-san, I...I didn’t mean to -?”

“I know,” he snaps, cutting her off...which she’s gotten used to. “...don’t introduce me to any more games. Got it?”

“O...okay.”

“Wasting all my goddamn time,” he mutters, lighting a cigarette and taking a frustrated drag. He gives her a halfhearted glare when she can no longer suppress her giggles. “If the Uchiha Yakuza falls it’s all gonna be your fault, I hope you know that. You and your damn cats.”

“I’m sorryyy!”

“No you’re not!”

“Yes I am!”

“Then why’re you laughing?”

She can’t reply, too caught up in her amusement.

To anyone looking on, they’d see a scowling, tattooed, heavily-modded man they’d immediately peg as a bad guy.

But Hinata knows better.

More of the cyberpunk AU! Not really anything plot-drive this time: more introspection about appearance, which DOES play a fairly big role in both their characters, and their world at large. With the ability to modify your looks, you can really put any face forward - literally. While neither of them have any real appearance mods (though Sasuke does have his eye mods), they still have traits that don't match their exterior! ...I'd...say more but it's very late. The Minister (Michael Muldoon) - The Damnation of Harvey McHugh

Favourite thing about him:

He might be my favourite character from “The Damnation of Harvey McHugh”. What seems likeable to me from such a -widely disliked- figure is that he is extremely smart, calm and collected. Those are qualities that seem attractive to me in humans, and he, even though a total piece of shit, has those qualities.

I am not saying he is my favourite character because he is a good person, absolutely not true. I am saying he is a bad person, but a very charismatic character. The way he talks to people (his staff), or maybe I must say manipulates them, is perplexing. He can manipulate anybody into anything because the people inside the series view him as charismatic too.

He is a master manipulator and keeps his cool about anything, which makes his character more enjoyable.

Least favourite thing about him:

This is kind of a paradox but him being a manipulative politician also classifies as a bad thing in my brain. Yes, it is charismatic and interesting character-wise but honestly, from a realistic perception, he is a really ugly human being. He treats people who he cannot use - badly and shows any trait of kindness only to play people and use them.

Plus he runs in an election to be the PM and I would never want such a person to be the authority in my country. So, realistically he isn’t appealing at all.

Favourite Line:

“I always looked at the pictures of Lucifer... and at some point I realised, he isn’t the villain he is made to be!”

Evil laughs and storms out of the church.

I like the doctor the same way I like the minister (appealing character but scary in real life), therefore I think they are fit as bRoS. Their conversations have me either laughing or thinking about important issues so it looks like a power friendship.

So, I know I already said something similar about Ben Stone, but I wouldn’t be saying this if I hadn’t felt these vibes. I am sure we have discussed this one with @lovevanbeethoven at some point.

I think Michael Muldoon is impotent.

Okay I know I am flaunting the impotency claim really loosely but...

The way his “sister” talks about him, the way she says “he is the kind of man to go to bed in flowered shorts”(?probably implying his lack of sex drive?) and the way when the woman working for him offers him sex he hesitates about it (I am sure it is not because he has a wife) point to a case of “my thing is not working”.

Unpopular Opinion:

Okay so I know this thing aired in 1990s ABC and making such a twist would have been scandalous but I think Michael Muldoon was supposed to be revealed as gay after the episodes where he is afraid of turning gay because Harvey was “allegedly” gay. Through the next episode, his fears should have been made more complex and rooted in truth and he should have come in terms with his homosexuality/bisexuality.

I usually do not make straight characters gay but man oh man this would have been such a good character arch xD

I think this gif is able to portray most of The Ministers main emotions and it shows his inner anxiousness from the way he is tapping his fingers and rubbing his hand on the sofa.

oh boy okay here we go

I’ll just say it. I don’t like Xion. She’s a bad character, but it’s not her fault it’s the writers’.

My argument is divided in the following points:

She has no personality, and is only a blank slate for anyone to be able to relate to.

She has no flaws, and is never in the wrong.

Her only character trait is the “tragedy” of her story, and it’s shoved down the player’s throat so she can earn our sympathy only for it to be meaningless later on.

Her bad writing is so contagious she makes other characters around her act out of character.

She serves no purpose to the story.

I’l explain each point after the read more:

She has no personality, and is only a blank slate for anyone to be able to relate to

Kingdom Hearts characters, including heroes and villains, have distinct personalities of their own that makes them unique between them and believable. If you closed your eyes and I started describing someone via character traits you wouldn’t have a hard time figuring out who I’m talking about.

How would you describe Xion though? She’s kind, cares for her friends, is determined and has a strong sense of justice.

That could be literally anyone.

If I added to that description “cool, composed, collected.” you could already narrow it down to Terra, Aqua or Riku. If instead I added “cunning, sly, nonchalant” you could think of Axel.

But you can’t add anything else to Xion, she just has a bunch of generic character traits that anyone could relate to, including us the player. Who doesn’t care about their friends? Who doesn’t want to do the right thing? Everyone does! While some people could see themselves in Sora or others in Riku almost any KH fan can somewhat relate to Xion because she’s very standard in personality.

She has no flaws, and is never in the wrong.

Characters make mistakes man. Terra trusted Xehanort, Aqua blindly obeyed Eraqus’ orders, Ven left LoD to chase after Terra, Riku accepted the darkness, Naminé fucked with Sora’s memories, Roxas tried to fight against the Organization by himself with no plan. The list goes on.

You ever notice Xion never does anything wrong? Whenever there’s conflict she’s always right. Roxas wants her to come back? Can’t, she has to go to Sora. Axel tries to bring her back? She fights back (even tho she loses she still tried to not lose). She has the chance to stay alive and ditch Sora? Nope, that wouldn’t be the right thing. Overall her moral values are always right, she just doesn’t make mistakes. And no, following the organization’s orders doesn’t count as a mistake because she was brain dead when she first joined and only started thinking for herself later on.

She’s a perfect character. A character that does no wrong, and y’know what? Perfect characters are fucking boring because they never cause conflict. You know what to do with perfect characters like her? You kill them so the main character goes through development. Mufasa and Tadashi ring a bell?

Her only character trait is the “tragedy” of her story, and it’s shoved down the player’s throat so she can earn our sympathy only for it to be meaningless later on.

When you think of Xion what is the first thing that you think of? Her death, and that’s because that’s the only thing she has. What else could she possibly have? Eating ice cream in a tower? Hiding from Roxas and Axel? Nah dude, the only striking thing she has that left an impact is her death. When you think of Roxas you could think of the KH2 intro, his fight with Riku, his fight with Axel.. Roxas has a lot of amazing moments, and so do the rest of the cast!

But not only is her death the only thing she has, but the game tries real hard to rub in our faces just how tragic and sad it is oh no :v

The reason why she has such a hard time deciding to go to Sora is because she’ll pretty much disappear from existence. We know this way before she makes her choice, and the whole thing is building up the more she thinks about it and you know it’s unavoidable. Naminé even explained to her, and I quote, “There won’t be any ‘you’ to remember.” So according to Naminé there literally won’t be any trace of Xion left. At all.

Okay so you can be like, well fine, her death is the only thing she has going for her, it was sad and all so I’ll take it.

Except she’s not fucking dead.

Despite Naminé telling us that she’d disappear for good, that there was no fucking chance she’d ever be remembered, SOMEHOW she still shows up in Re:Coded and DDD because aylmao deal with it. If there really were not going to be ANY memories of her left then why the fuck is she still “remembered” deep in Sora’s heart? And wait a minute, then that makes her super tragic death pointless! She was brought back, what was the point of forcing me to feel bad about her?

Because yes, I felt pretty forced. Even her fucking theme is shoving it in our faces.

You have Aqua, who was trapped in the RoD for a goddamn decade, almost succumbed to the darkness, lost her two friends to a creepy old man that wanted to end the world, and had to fight the embodiment of all her fears. She gets: Aqua’s theme.

You have Naminé, who was isolated for an entire year and used to hurt the only person that showed her kindness ever since she was born. Her mistake was so big and tremendous she spent another year fixing that mistake with the help of a revenge-thirsty old man that treated her like shit. She gets: Naminé’s theme.

You have Kairi, who lost her home, has no memories of her early life, lost both her best friends after their first journey and was left behind by herself for a year with no idea of whether they were alive or not, and was later used as fucking bait to lure Sora into danger. She gets: Kairi’s theme.

And then you have Xion, who had to fight Axel and Roxas like once, and then died but not really because she came back. She gets: MUSIQUE POUR LA TRISTESSE DE XION.

jfc talk about subtle.

Her bad writing is so contagious she makes other characters around her act out of character.

You remember what happened to Riku after Chain of Memories? When he found Sora asleep, he was determined to do anything to help wake him up. Anything. And that included beating the shit out of Roxas with no room for debate, conversation or argument, relying on the power of darkness so much he changed his appearance into the guy that had tortured him for the last year, kidnapping Roxas and aiding Ansem in placing him inside a fucking computer so he could die.

When Riku spotted Roxas about to try and set Kingdom Hearts free Riku did not play around and did what he had to do. He didn’t tell Roxas to think it over, didn’t sit down with him and tried to come up with a better solution. Nah dude, he beat the shit out of him.

And yet, what happened when Riku encountered Xion? He knew Sora needed her too to wake up. But instead of being as merciless as he was with Roxas he gently cradles her in his arms, brushes her hair out of her face, and talks with her about what she wants to do. Uh, excuse you? Why on earth would you give her the choice of not going with Sora when you want him to wake up? What if she decided to not go? Would he have let her? Well either way, the same Riku that kidnapped Roxas would have kidnapped Xion too, especially since he found her unconscious and would have been pretty easy. But no.. this is Xion, she’s special, she needs to make her choice. Ugh.

Riku is not the only one affected by this. When Roxas found out Axel was hiding information about him he got fucking pissed. He lashed out at him, yelled at him, accused him of not being a good friend because friends shouldn’t keep that kind of secret from each other. Roxas was not having it, and he let Axel know.

But when Xion kept avoiding Roxas without saying why? No that’s okay! Roxas is just worried and he wants her to come back! It’s okay!

Wtf dude? He had all the right to be angry at her too! She’s clearly hiding something from him, something that is a huge deal. Why is he not getting angry at her too? Why is Axel the only one that gets put in his place? I’ll tell you why, because this is Xion and she’s special, and she has the right to make her own shady choices that affect her friends.

She serves no purpose to the story.

And so we find ourselves here. Have you thought about it for a second? How exactly did Xion affect the story? Because obviously she did, didn’t she? After all, her death had a huge impact. What was that impact? In her final moments just as she’s vanishing, Xion asks Roxas to set Kingdom Hearts free, and thus that’s why Roxas left the organization. If it hadn’t been for Xion, Roxas would never had been pushed to do so.

Except that’s not true.

Prior to Xion’s death, Roxas was already getting distraught, impatient and angry because of all the questions he had about himself. Why is he so special? Why can he wield the keyblade? What does the organization want with the keyblade? Who is Sora and why is he so important?

Axel was not giving him answers, and he was definitely not going to get any from the organization either. Even without Xion’s death, Roxas would have eventually reached a limit and tried to search for answers himself, thus betraying and leaving the organization. Xion’s death only made it happen sooner than later.

So then, what did Xion do?

Let’s try to figure it out. If you were to remove Xion completely from the story, from the franchise, would anything change?

If for example we removed Terra Xehanort would never have found a young body to posses, Terranort would never have become Ansem’s student and the emblem heartless wouldn’t have been born.

If Kairi was removed Sora and Riku would never have been motivated to leave Destiny Islands, after arriving to Traverse Town Sora would have gone to search Riku directly instead and would have joined him when he found him during his second visit to Traverse Town thus avoiding the conflict of Riku thinking he got replaced by Donald and Goofy. Sora would never have sacrificed himself to save Kairi, and Roxas and Naminé would never have been born and it only snow balls from there…

If Axel was removed Naminé would never have escaped from Marluxia and Larxene in Castle Oblivion and wouldn’t have been able to help Sora. The organization’s plans wouldn’t have been foiled, and Sora wouldn’t have been able to make it to the World that Never Was by himself to save Kairi.

So now that we have a few examples, let’s think it over again. What would change if Xion was completely wiped from the story?

Nothing. Maybe Roxas and Axel would have remained as a duo instead of a trio of friends, but that makes no difference since KH2 was originally written with that in mind anyways. And maybe Xehanort would be one darkness short in KH3, but if he really wanted to he could pick Demyx, Vexen or bring another version of himself from the past.

When you have a character in your story that contributes with nothing you have a huge problem there. You either change that character’s influence, or you remove the character entirely. You can’t leave things as they are.

So there you have it. Unless Xion is given a crucial role later in the franchise (which I seriously hope she doesn’t), my opinion on her won’t change. She was pointless, served no purpose, and is overall a bad character in my eyes.

I want to clarify though that it’s not her fault, she just had bad luck and was the character that got stuck with bad writing.

Romantic HCs Perospero, Oven, Mont d’Or

Perospero

- he’s had a fair share of partners who were only with him because of his status, so he’s usually pretty distrusting during the initial part of the relationship; but once his partner proves how trustworthy they are, he becomes boundlessly loyal to his partner!

- being a lover (literally the minister) of candy he’s definitely gonna call his partner sweet candy nicknames: “my sweet” “candy doll” “lolli/lollipop” “gumdrop” “jelly bean” etc.

- he’s an absolute sucker for kids, and given his age, he’s ready to settle down with someone and have a family; he wants lots and lots of kids, a family nearly as big as his own, so his partner should be prepared for that

- speaking of family, his family is very important to him, so his partner needs to be someone that gets on well with his family; they don’t need to be liked by all 84 of his siblings…but at least most of them and they need to be approved by Big Mom of course

- not shy in the least bit when it comes to showing affection for his lover; he’s very open in his advances, maybe a bit grandiose about it, but dammit he wants his lover to know how he feels about them (this also lets him brag to everyone about having such a wonderful s/o by his side)

- his PDA consists of lots of hand holding, hugs, lingering smooches on the cheeks/forehead, running his fingers through their hair, and loving pecks on the lips; he also enjoys it when his partner sits in his lap as it makes him feel powerful; he’s really sweet when it comes to affection, it’s almost cavity-inducing

- really big into spoiling his s/o, and he also expects some spoiling in return!; only the finest items, food, candy, and accessories for his partner, he always goes above and beyond for them in order to make them happy!

- on the flip side, he expects his partner to do the same; if they show no effort in going the limits to keep him happy he easily loses interest in them

- he’s pretty full of himself at times, so he appreciates an s/o who can fan his flaming ego, someone who basically worships him tbh

- he’s super protective which makes him a bit clingy; if he’s not around his s/o, he makes sure someone trustworthy is nearby to reassure him that they are safe; he also just can’t get enough of them, so you’ll usually find him with his s/o right by his side

Oven

- imma be honest: I see Oven as very selfish in relationships at times; not entirely, but he tends to chase after his own pleasures and happiness over his partner’s every now and then

- now, he can be very loyal to a partner, much like his loyalty to Big Mom and his siblings, but the moment his partner betrays his trust it is over for them, they’re nothing more than the dirt under his shoes at that point

- going along that, he tends to have a habit of looking for possible wrongdoings/imperfections of his partner so he doesn’t set himself up for heartbreak; it takes a lot for him to trust someone, so he tends to put them through “tests” to see if they are worthy of his trust and love

- if someone manages to prove themselves to him, he actually becomes even more distrusting?? how could someone be so perfect for him? surely it’s a trap!

- nevertheless, when he finally finds the right partner, he gives his all to them and expects the same in return; all of Oven’s loving actions towards his partner require attention and he always expects his partner to return the favor

- no partner could ever mean more to him than his mama and that’s just fact; his partner needs to understand that his mom comes before anyone else as he is 100% loyal to her

- family is super important to him and he really wants children of his own, especially sons, but he’s also content with girls; he may be an asshole, but I think he’d be a good dad? maybe?

- Oven is very prideful and he has a pretty bad temper so he needs someone patient and kind, but he doesn’t want someone entirely sweet, he likes a partner who can challenge him and stand up for themselves!

- pride, anger, and selfishness aside, he is capable of being sweet and loving to his partner; he’s very protective and reassuring to his partner, if they’re ever feeling down, he’s actually really good at making them feel loved and providing security in themselves

- affection from Oven is a bit more private, he’s not really one for PDA as he believes it ruins his reputation, but he allows his partner to give him all the loving they want when they are behind closed doors; he’s also not opposed to warming his body temperature up to be their personal lil heater

Mont d’Or

- this poor man is an absolute sucker for romance, so he needs a partner that is comfortable with his romantic antics; he tends to fall in love easily, but only when they express certain traits he is interested in

- he has a bit of a short temper, so he also needs someone who can keep him grounded and maybe talk him through his outbursts; a partner who is calm and collected with a kind smile will always ease his moods, this is the best type of partner for him!

- like Perospero, he can be a bit grandiose in his affections, having zero shame when it comes to PDA, but he lives for the dramatic and the romance; flowers, jewelry, picking them up for a hug, or dipping his partner into a kiss, he loves to remind them how special they are!

- his partner needs to be interested in books just as him, I can see he and his partner having a little book club where they drink wine and talk about books all day! (there’s also lots of shit talk during this time cuz Mont d'Or always got the good gossip)

- sometimes he likes to take his partner into their favorite book so they can witness scenes for themselves; he has a bit of a habit of taking them to really romantic settings and professing his love to them

- it’s a bit silly, but he knows he can trust someone when he feels comfortable to not wear any make up around them; very few people get to see his natural face, so he needs a partner who he can trust to see this rare side of him

- speaking of makeup, he loves to do his partner’s make up if they will let him! it’s not always the mime-look, he’s actually really good at applying any kind of makeup!

- being a Charlotte, family is super important to him; he wants a family of his own as well, but he really wants to enjoy the married life first; he wants to form a happy home with a husband/wife first before they have kids!

- tends to have a bad habit of getting jealous easily, so his partner needs to prove that he is the only one for them, otherwise he gets really insecure and threatens to kill anyone who would dare get between him and his lover

- overall a very romantic and selfless partner, but he really needs a patient lover, someone who can ease his temper and remind him just how in love with him they are!

“The Rise od Skywalker” spoilers.

So, i saw it. I was on a whole night marathon and saw all three movies one after another. I actually like “The Last Jedi”. Like, i really like it. I know all issues and problems that people have with this one, i understand it, and it’s still Very Good to me and there will be some comparisons. Also, i’m not sure if this is important, but SW is not a part of my childhood and i have no nostalgic feelings toward those movies. Hi there, i’m an average fan?

So.

Tbh i expected a pile of thrash on fire after what i read about this movie, because people are only complaining, without really recalling anything good (but i also avoided big and long and detailed reviews to avoid as much information as i can xD). And there are good thing in it, and i had surprisingly a whole amount of fun while watching it. But still, at the end, overall this whole movie can be summarize into CONFUSED WHAT.

Good stuff:

- J. J. Abrams know how to invoke a fell and spirit of grand adventure. At the beginning this move has a crazy amount of it, until Rey split from Finn and Poe. They just need to go after this mcguffin dagger to find another mcguffin, they need to go to this palce to find that or someone, they need to go somewhere else and there are problems but there’s a solution, but they need to go to third place to again find someone. I would be kinda annoying if we wouldn’t have all three of them together - Rey, Finn and Poe. Finally! I really like them all being together, being friends, bantering, being dumbasses and smartasses and me gusta very much those dorks.

- They do not conform that, but let’s face it - Finn and Poe are married. There’s no heterosexual explanation for their relationship in this movie. I’m aware that in script they weren’t particularly wrote like that, and maybe it’s because actors were playing their character in this way, but there’s another explanation. A few months ago in review of “X-Men: The Dark Phoenix” i read that Hollywood just don’t know how to wrote real male friendship, full of emotions, and they end up using romance tropes and cliches. And Finn and Poe are perfect example to uphold that theory. Like, really, look at them, they’re bantering like an old couple.

- I really like Reys path in this movie. Seeing all three movies together shows how much she grow with every next installment. In TFA she is nice and joyful character, but kinda basic; in TLJ she learn more about how world works, about herself and choose her own path. And now in TROS she is very conflicted, torn apart and sacred of her own powers, while trying to stay herself. And Daisy Ridley really hit the spot with her performance.

- Leia had an lightsaber? And was training with Luke? And now she was teaching Rey? Like... FUCK YEAH?! And also Finn? Force sensitive? YEAH BABY!

- Rey and Kylo fight on ruins of Death Star surrounded with raging ocean and those exquisitely animated giant and heavy waves. So good? SO GOOD.

- Palpatine went full Thor and every cell in my body was hollering with laughter. As soon as it’s possible someone need to edit this “unlimited power!” yell to this scene. Please.

- ahahahahaha, Hux, you magnificent, pathetic, petty asshole, ahahahahaha.

- this is not about movies, but there was a fake fanboy at my screening. Between TLJ and TROS this dude behind me was explaining sequels to his friend and i was typing a message to my friend, so the only thing that i heard was “the first movie did Abrams, you know, the one that made LOTR, and the second one did Johnson , and he is ooold.” I have no idea what to do and think about this.

- new ways of using force. Hell yeah. Force the shit out of this. Stronger force skype? Totally. Teleportation things on purpose through force? Absolutely. Being almost in two places at once through force. I’m totally here for that. Rey being probably the most competent person in force? Kick their asses baby, i’m holding yo flower!

- MERRY!!!???

??? stuff:

- apparently reylo is incest, because Rey and Kylo are related. Really? How? Is there in any movie any, even smallest, hint that Skywalkers and Palpatines are blood related? I have no idea.

- The way how droid are treated in those movies is troubling. Are they alive? Are they self-conscious? Or they’re an artificial intelligence so developed that they can with no problems fake that?

- sooo... Kylo. I love this problematic asshole. Well, in case of genocidal murdered word “problematic” is very mild, but whatever. What i read about this movie, people were raging because woman (Rey) exist only to heal a man (Kylo) that was abusing her, but i don’t see that this way. Like, not at all. And how i see how Rey and Kylo plot is developing makes it hysterical, especially after TLJ where Kylo was established as main villain. Because in this movie with every scene Kylo exist more and more as support to Rey story, he’s an walking exposition for Rey and motivation for her to doing things. He was less and less his own character, and was more and more existed for Rey. Like, he totally could be put in the fridge. xD When Rey stabbed him i thought “oh, so they’re killing him now? When were not even close to the end? Well, ok, i do not see a more purpose for him in this plot, so yeah, kill him” but then Rey saved him and i was like ??? because what more you want him to do? And then he disappears for a big chunk of time and show again at the end and he even wasn’t needed here and don’t do that much? Just... lol. Ok, he did That, because it’s “Star Wars” and SW just Works. Like. That. or it’s not Real and True “Star Wars” boo-frikin-hoo. But on that later.

- as a example for Kylo being a lesser character and more of a tool for the sake of the plot is fact, that in TROS Darth Tantrum is weirdly collected and put his shit together. At the beginning when he finds Palpatines lair and learns that this dude was behind all of this, behind forming First Order and all voices in his head, Kylo should lost his marbles and just murdered Palpatine. But even if somehow not, at the news that Rey is emperor granddaughter he absolutely should throw the biggest tantrum in all history of tantrums and not only obliterated Palpatine but also this whole place. But no, he made A Plan and decide to once again to “propose” to Rey. Like she didn’t rejected him definitely in previous movie and like they both not decided that when they meet next time, only one of them are going to survive. But hey, let’s go with this “i want you by my side to rule the galaxy” plot again. :/

- and there they go with that helmet again. In TLJ scene where Kylo destroys his helmet it’s a very powerful moment. Not only for him, but for direction with which the story would go. Because he is not Darth Vader. Because we do not need another Darth Vader. Buuut, on the other side i can let this a pass, because since he agreed to join Palpatine and once again is going to lead The Knights, he needed to wear this helmet again to prove this loyalty and make them trust him. So, hard pass on that. And tbh, that ugly mask looks a lot better with those bright red cracks.

- And also Leia, that was also there only for her son, because as a mother she can’t be anyone else. Aaand... idk about that. Leia force connected to Kylo so he could turn back to the light? She sacrificed herself for him? Eeeeh... it was weird scene. And there’s no clear explanation why? Only Kaz Manata said that this will use Leias all life force that she has? Did i missed something? Did movie forgot about something? For me it looked like Leia was distracting Kylo, because it look like Rey was going to loose this fight, she was more and more angry, and in this moment she would fully go on the dark side. So Leia saved Rey, she felt Reys struggle. At least i it’s how i interpreted this scene, because it’s one of the most baffling one. Just ???

- there’s whole sith culture. Just. There is. But if there’s only two of them at most at a time, they probably exist for far longer to develop all of this, and to build all of this, and to be cooperative with each other? Which is not their strongest trait? And all these people in emperor throne room were past siths force ghosts or real people?

- apparently being a sith and making lightning came out of your palms is genetic? At least i understand that like this. Because the reason why Rey shot lightning while trying to rescue Chewie was not because she was angry and mad and doubting, but because shes Palpatine? What?

- this is a very minor thing, but when Rey enters Death Stars ruins there’s stormtroopers armors lying almost everywhere, but there’s not even a one bone?

- oh wow, a planet get blow up with even more miniaturized death star ray. And they have hundreds of these. And hundreds of destroyers. And no one notices there was whole space army built. How? I can understand that they ignored the space nazis rising again because, well, just look what is happening in real life, but using money and resources at this scale is however something else, very expensive and i can’t believe no one noticed this.

Bad stuff:

- Rey is Palpatine. What. I mean... what? It’s just... uuugh... Why are you making me thinking about Emperor having sex? I only hope that was some crazy nazi fangirl that totally wanted to fuck him. Or maybe it was artificial insemination? Well, doesn't matter, it’s BIG EEEW in every option. And i don’t want to think about other way. :/ At least it makes sense why Emperor procreate? In other stories al these evil dudes that want to live forever and rule everything are having children just... because they have children. For drama or something, because story needs someone to betray this evil dude, or some other eye-rolling stereotypical reason. Like, having offspring especially to posses their bodies and live forever in this way is not very original, but it’s something.

- TLJ was like “you can be from nowhere, you can be from the bottom of society, you cen be the poor and miserable, without family or amazing heritage, and you can still do amazing things, you can climb up and make a difference, you can be better and better, you can make your own story despite your awful background” and TROS be like “fuck that, viva la royalty, you need a powerful heritage, you need a powerful and important bloodline or you’re nothing”. Oh, how nice is that. :/

- that opening crawl. It’s bad. Just bad. Even worse than “The Phanom Menace” babbling about economy.

- PALPATINE IS NO FUN AT ALL!!! HOW DARE YOU NOT MAKING IAN MCDIARMIND NOT ENJOYABLE AT ALL???!!! SHAME ON YOU ABRAMS!!! SHAME ON ALL OF DISNEY!!! ...well, ok, this was this one small thing, BUT STILL!!! AUGHR!!! I’m so mad about this. I was expecting not a very good movie, but at least i was hopeful that emperor would be such a treat.

- pulling emperor out of nowhere was an mistake. They should stay with what TLJ established and made Kylo main villain. No redemption, no bullshit like “there’s still light in him”, no Ben Solo, no forgiveness, no nothing. Just Rey beating the shit out of him and killing him. End of story. But no, “Star Wars” can’t be like that, it’s not how this world works, THIS IS NOT REAL “STAR WARS” WAAH WAAAH WAAAH. You’re a genocidal murdered? A space nazi? You’re ruling a regime that is weltered in blood of the innocence? Doesn't matter, there’s always hope. Just do one small, good thing and you will be at peace. Fuck off with that. At the end of TLJ when Kylo entered that mine, and rebel survivors entered deck of Falcon, and Rey and him were still force connected, and she cutted off him because she understands that there are things that can’t be forgave, and there are people that do not want help and just don’t want to be better and fuck “Steven Universe Future” did that a lot better on eleven minutes, and SW series is struggling with this since beginning. Because there’s white and black, good and evil, and there’s nothing in between, and when someone comes from one side to another they become a completely different person because yes that how it works. And people are totally here for this because it’s for kids and it needs to be simple and we can’t let this story grow beyond that stupid absolute duality. I know that there are people that were on far right but they changed and become better and good for them, but if you want to do that in your story, show the struggle of this difficult path and let this scum survive and face the consequences. Take at least a minimum of responsibility of what you’re showing to kids. :/ But nooo, he was stabbed, his mom died, his dad showed up and said... something, and now Kylo is dead, and Ben alive again. Sarcastic yay. Also, if you’re repeating dialogue from first movie, in almost this same situation, but in a different context, EARN IT. Second also, that kiss. Eeeeh... If you really need to be Like That and made some weird understanding between them, maybe just make they touch their foreheads? And oooh, yes, i almost forgot. At my screening when Kylo flopped at the ground, died and vanished, the whole audience laughed. But it wasn’t a loud, merry laugh, but a nervous and awkward, like “did i just saw this cringy shit?”. Amazing.

- they remembered about Knight of Ren. And did nothing with them. They just were showing up here and there through the whole movie without any purpose. But that’s Johnson fault, that he did not include them in TLJ. No wonder that they did not have time for them in TROS. Just waste.

- the amount of fanservice is killing me. I have nothing against it, if it’s just a nice treat for fans here and there, but when a whole movie is dedicated to it it’s just not very bearable. And plot suffer from it, because instead of write a good story they’re focusing at how to connected these thing from original trilogy.
