One of the most funny-sad parts of my job is watching people learn that I'm not kidding when I tell them "Yes, you do have to explain how to do [thing that they assume is common knowledge or otherwise intuitive]."

They never believe me, and then I have to watch as they slowly die inside having to explain how OneDrive functions exactly like the folder structure on their Windows PCs, just online.

Even stuff that has instructions readily available online and can be easily found with the simplest search. The number of Microsoft guides I've had to rewrite or link to because people just shut down when they don't know how to do something is frankly obscene.

I try not to shame people, honestly, but watching the light behind my fellow tech-peoples' eyes slowly flicker and die as their enthusiasm and positive attitudes are smothered by the work we do here is physically painful and soul-shattering.

But it's also a little funny...because I get to experience them going through the same 5 stages of grief I've been through, which either ends in them leaving or me having a new person to commiserate with--misery does love company after all.

jayroy is so good to me for a lot of reasons, but one of the big ones is that they r both full of each other's triggers. it's insane how like. their traumas have the potential to directly impact each other. except they just. don't. for the most part they're just two really good bros. it's got so much potential and if dc ever got around to writing a jason story that wasn't dogshit, it could be a really good story. alas.

I keep seeing the trope of "Hancock met Nick as a teenager" in Valencock fics which....huh???

We don't know when Hancock moved to Diamond City , he wasn't born there and theres a big chance he moved there well into his 20s. If we're going off of the fandoms general idea that hes in his 30s-40s, he could have been any age between 18-40 depending on how long you think he was there for before his brotjer became mayor.

I like Valencock, I really do, but why did yall find a way to make it weird???

Steve checked the grays in his hair, the lines in his face and even the calendar on the bedroom wall that said 2001 before he said it.

"We're too old for this shit."

"What was that?", Eddie asked, looking up from the pile of laundry sitting on their bed.

"We're too old for...for this Upside Down shit", Steve said, rubbing his temples.

Eddie froze, half-folded shirt in his hands. "Stevie, baby, what did you see?"

"It's about Theo. He's been...sneaking out", Steve whispered, in case their son heard him.

Eddie waited for more and when that was it, he dropped the shirt. "So does he have unexplained injuries? Did you see him get attacked or something? Or was there anything out in the woods? I need more to work with here."

"Theo's been sneaking out of the house, what more do you need to know? And sometimes he's not where he says he's going to be, and-"

"Honey, you're describing both you and me at that age", Eddie smirked. "Perhaps for different reasons but teens always find a reason to sneak around."

"Not at thirteen", Steve said firmly.

"I'm assuming you think Theo's going off on his own adventures, battling hellish creatures with his own gaggle of heroes?" Eddie went right back to folding.

"Theo's not afraid of the dark, or the forest, or the forest after dark. And that pal Sawyer of his is like a mini-Dustin. And they're always off doing who knows what."

"Hey now, we promised we wouldn't fall prey to those 'do you know where your children are' scare tactics. Theo knows where to go and where not to go. If he happens upon a secret government lab-"

"What if it's not like it was with Dustin and the others? What if his first time is like mine?" Running into a house where a monster was already loose. "Or what if...", Steve's voice got quiet. "What if it's like yours?"

Eddie hadn't been equipped for what he saw and he had been older than their son was now. He didn't want to believe that nightmare had returned. 86 had been the end of it. They'd thoroughly checked, both that the Upside Down was gone and that no one was trying to open it back up.

Even if they were sure, they owed it to Theo to be really sure. Neither Eddie nor Steve really got to benefit from adult intervention the way some of them did with Joyce and Jim. Wayne wasn't involved until it was over and Steve's parents still didn't know.

"Alright", Eddie decided. "We'll confront him tonight, after he comes back from his lil nightly romp."

They continued to fold clothes, hoping against hope that their son was really just making out with classmates. For once, talking about puberty was the less scary option.

You know the drill by now @lazylittledragon does amazing breathtaking art that makes me feral, I must write silly little words that are no where near enough for all of the key smashing emotions I'm feeling. Ollie is in fact the coolest little human though

Steve was in the middle of slicing apples when the question he had been waiting eight years to hear finally arrived. 

“Steve, are you my dad?” Oliver asked innocently, not even looking up from the picture he was currently coloring. 

He had never been one to panic, and after fighting monsters all through his teen years there really wasn’t much that could phase him at this point, but Steve froze the second the words left his kid’s mouth. 

He had practiced for this, he had prepared. There was a sizable stack of index cards somewhere collecting dust in a desk upstairs, a perfect speech about love and blood and what does and does not make a family. 

But none of that mattered now. Now he was a butterfly pinned to a board, stuck in place staring down a question he could not fully comprehend the answer to.

CAVEAT BEFORE I BEGIN: this is ranked entirely on the MAIN PENCILLER artist listed in each issue i took from, however a LOT of comic art is make or break with inkers and colourists. so this is by no meaning me saying (x) artist sucks/ is amazing on their own or whatever. it just. is what it is. i just frankly cant be bothered to factor each inker into each ranking.

second caveat: frankly i dislike some of these artists as people, but ive tried not to include that in my ranking, and im purely going from how they draw ollie

third and final caveat: this is JUST based on their ollies. a lot of these artists draw other things (WOMEN) horribly or other things AMAZING (layouts/backgrounds/pinups) and if it was ranked on that they'd probably be lower. this is entirely based on how much i like looking at their ollie/how much it feels like Ollie tm to me.
