Watching someone have an absolute meltdown over the difference between technical terminology and common usage. They seem unable to distinguish that "the friends who vouch for them" are no different than the hundreds to thousands of people using the non-technical term already, or that there's nothing special about this particular term compared to any other term that has differences in technical vs common usage. Welcome to science. Nothing about this situation is new or interesting. Words ABSOLUTELY have different meanings based on context and speaker intent and you cannot remove those or your arguments are straw with no substance.

Just because YOU operate in circles that have deep-dived your special interest knowledge groups doesn't mean everyone else has. What's "common knowledge" to YOU is not the same thing as REAL common knowledge, and even that varies depending on background.

The shift in meaning of this particular term has already sailed by years. Nothing about it is new, so seeing someone complain this late in the game is ... special. Not to mention the inconsistency in the meltdown rage over this term but no others.

It would be one thing to simply inform people about the term as a matter of trivia, but this bad-faith approach that puts words in people's mouths and calls them stupid for having a different opinion and a broader perspective is two-year-old behavior.

Anyone remember when running this blog almost killed me like circa 2016 and I did pet submissions only “positivity purge” week?

I don’t know why I’m asking except that I myself just remembered it 😂

I’m so proud to not be the person anymore who started a callout blog in 2012. I guess I’m realizing again it’s nice to not have what this blog originally was in my life anymore.

And yet, on tumblr in general, I persist 😅

so aven’s interview with anan:

- sth about this whole “risk equals gain” of aven feels similar to sunday’s act of fairness, esp the “evil punished, guest welcomed” bit from sacerdos’s gloves

- risk and gambling is his bread n butter, which goes with him enjoying the thrill of it from his voicelines - not new, but more on this later

- competence focused - was asked about charm point but veered off to talk about “ability” - also how his answers are all quite (corporate) professional, like how he was called out to be quite formal in his timeline; this is similar to sunday’s fixation on “perfection” and needing to look put together at all time. also “model answer” who is sunday if not always exemplary behaviour ?

- never forgot his childhood, same as sunday still being accompanied by memories of his family (the cherubs)

- interesting how he says again and again that he “knows what he wants” but does he really ? say he lives for the thrill of the next gamble… but we also know he doesn’t quite have anything to live for and couldn’t repay the ppl who helped him, felt empty after every win and was notably trying to die; this is an interesting contrast to sunday who, despite looking lost and contemplative after failing his life’s ambition, *does* know what he wants - he might look for guidance in the way of trailblazing but not for his life goals, and this is pointed out in sacerdos’s boots on how he does not seek guidance, rebuke or sympathy

- workaholic - his daily routine except the first bit is entirely about work, which is just like one workday person (gives me this feeling of trying hard to prove himself for survival, similar to what sunday insinuated with wonweek on what he had to do to “survive” growing up in the oak family)

- sleep issue - remind me of someone who stayed in the dream for long hours working without actually sleeping, but the cooler point here is how sunday is known to have sung robin to sleep as a kid, also mental healing expert - they’re quite compatible on this front

- soft pyjamas - safe to assume he likes soft things, like the cat cakes as well ? the bit about fluffy winter clothes and his fur coat and how he called sunday featherhead, makes me think he would like touching sunday’s soft wings hehe

- the perfume ! so much on this:

1. it’s called Evernight Carnival, which is in theme with penacony where it’s made (mtl is endless night madness). feels so lucky that sunday and aven are the two central charas of the penacony story - as in, they got the most character exploration. fitting since thematically they each represent penacony in a crucial way - aven with the thrills and splendor of the dream, how everything is sparkly but belies dark past and danger, while sunday shows the desperation and idealism of dreams, the suffering of reality that we try to escape with dreams. but yeah, a night festival that never ends - cool that he likes what’s symbolic of penacony and how he’s so similar as a character

2. it has a feeling of free-spiritedness, with a hint of danger in the scent. i like the callout to “freedom” here, how aven gives this feeling of free and wild but he’s so chained by his past and destiny, just like sunday who was only “free” once he fell from the cage. the “danger” bit links it to aven’s penchant for risks and thrills, how he probs likes things with some dangerous aspect to it (whether that’s because of survival’s instincts, habit, necessity due to luck, escapism or plain enjoyment, who can say) but this means that the “risk” of getting his mind read again by sunday might actually be a bit thrilling to him. that or sunday’s his natural enemy and he can’t play his game the same way he does everyone else (it’s interesting to note that while he went against sunday for the stone, technically their interests aligned meaning sunday never actually fought him in earnest) (also funny to note that sunday wants to “clash” with him again but aven seems to want to watch only 😂 he met his match)

3. he likes perfumes that express the inner self. extrapolating from his ever-present facade, this might indicate his desire to be more “real” - to be able to express his true thoughts and self. this is ofc similar to sunday’s rigidness - his facial expressions feel “dull and lifeless” according to wonweek, indicating long years of suppression to keep the perfect front as the family head. i don’t think sunday actively wants to express his feelings all that much, since it might be “frivolous” to him, but he is trying to embrace imperfection and the way of trailblaze, so self expression (what a soloist would do while performing) is not entirely off the agenda. if only aven can be “free” as well, but maybe working in the IPC is freedom in his own way. (just thinking, okay aven wouldn’t want his thoughts and true self known to others considering gaiathra’s rituals, but if he has to do it All the time to survive and fool others & himself All the time that the facade is real, that his luck will pull through at the end despite his fears, it makes sense why he wants to express his inner self in some way, to yearn for the feeling of being true to oneself. to have his desires exposed by sunday, altho unnerving could also be liberating in some way - being true to himself for one.)

4. he really likes the perfume. guess who also likes the perfume and is said to wear it 😳 the idea of sunday liking (and wearing !) aven’s signature perfume is just 🥹🥹🥹 funny how sunday was supposed to hate risks but he likes a perfume that feels free with a hint of danger 😂

- dreams - aven expressed interest in it too, the idea of a place where anything can happen (that ties in with his liking for seemingly impossible bet); and ofc sunday likes dreams and is all about dreams. a place that brings joy and unending happiness (endless night carnival - the perfume) aka sunday’s life goal, but also something aven enjoys as well with how much he likes the thrill of gambles (escapism, or thrill seeking as a masked fool ?). penacony is really the stage for the two of them.

- aven really knows how to enjoy himself in penacony. not sure how much of this is real and just lip service to The Family, but i’ll hc that he does enjoy some part of it. the dream is after all designed to be fun maximized and enjoyed by all so aven liking it is reasonable since he’s a thrill-chaser. there’s also that post in his timeline with penacony images and the caption “a rare moment of respite” - not sure if it’s intentionally ironic since the photos are not conventionally “restful” in any way, or perhaps throwing himself into a neverending festival is his idea of “resting” - tiring himself to sleep or just having fun. and altho sunday won’t be found indulging in the dream, he’s got a hand in every aspect of its design and function as the faciliator and organizer. referring his journal where he aspired to plan out details of the dream and run it so that everyone can be happy, and also that bit where he vetoed some design of the dream - clearly the dream has quite a lot of his handiwork. extrapolating this means sunday knows and is good at creating an enjoyable experience for others, and aven notably enjoys it - he will have a good time being in sunday’s care.

OKAY i went down sunday’s voicelines again and found some Things:

- “serenity stands clear before me” “a day of peaceful repose” he really is the bringer of peace and rest… and aven’s post was literally “a rare moment of respite”. uncanny similarity aside, i think sunday can fr give aven the rest and sleep he needs. “a melodious sound that soothes the soul” 🥺🥺🥺

- “facing certain death yet finding new life” isn’t this basically what happened to aven�� what’s going on ?? oh i guess this is what happened to sunday as well, he was prepared to die after all… they’re similar in this aspect as well.

- “torment and doubt i bid you farewell” someone also talks about knowing what he wants exactly 🤭

This is an ongoing series, but I absolutely HAD to tell y'all about it! The comical humor of Kim "I swear I'm so plain and normal" Seungmin not understanding what there is to like about him is so stupidly funny, I just can't 😂

On the one hand, I see where he's coming from. I found a lot of his inner monologue very relatable, as I myself am an introvert who likes her schedule lol. On the other hand, however, there were so many points where I was screaming (in my head, dw) "WHY DON'T YOU SEE THE LOVABLE BITS OF YOURSELF?!"

(which ig is another callout bc i had some pretty bad insecurity issues until just recently lol)

I also absolutely adored how we get a glimpse of things from the other's perspectives in the second installment, like. UGH! Getting to see Seungmin from their eyes was literally so beautiful 🥹

My french fries, I even told my mom about it, and she wants me to keep her posted on the plot progression 😭 y'all she is so invested lol

All in all, 9/10, great work Seungkubz! This is hands down the best rom-com I've read in a while 💜

Has anyone made the connection between Ronnie's bath line and Liam's youtube channel? Like someone does an unboxing of his bathbombs and @'s Liam's channel because Ronnie's in the background of some review video? Imagining people far too many galaxies and dimensions away getting involved in gossip and drama of who is dating who, are they just pals, callout posts abt Ron's bath care being the same company as these dangerous weapons, etc. Meanwhile none of the Triumvirate know whats going on Or Liam only barely knowing abt it enough to instigate more of the drama to get more views 😂

I don't think a lot of people would connect his bath bomb business with his other one unless they're one of his early customers or one of the major underground players because ever since meeting Dee he's significantly dropped production with actual weapon making. he still does a couple to keep the underground off his back.

As fun as that idea would be, I think Dee being Liam's editor, marketing/schedule/snack manager, would make sure there aren't potential security risks in the videos (Ronnie's the camera guy)
