Virgil was a nerd, has been since as long as he could remember and like most nerds, Virgil had gargantuan amounts of anxiety when it came to those that he had feelings for, being Bisexual in Chicago meant that anxiety sky-rocketed from it’s post of the nerdy stratosphere. Whether fortunate or not, Virgil also had a tendency to talk more when he got nervous. And boy��was Virgil nervous right now and it showed. It showed his whole hand and his feelings right now. Virgil was devastated, embarrassed. Wishing he could find a hole to just crawl into. His host didn’t seem to mind, although Virgil was certain that Jamie wasn’t interested and his heart sank a little. Well that was until Jamie smiled and Virgil melted. I Guess we’ll see where th’ night takes us indeed. Virgil keep some hope and at the very least he had grained a new friend who happens to be a fan of cinema, and a potentially new ally to help Virgil be Static, t’ boot. So all is not lost even if Jamie is  not in fact interested in Virgil.

“Mhmmm” Virgil hummed in amused agreement with Jamie’s assessment of them seeing where the night goes.

“Hell yeah! Expansive. Sounds like this’ll be a blast and a lot better night than I had planned.” Virgil chuckled. When Jamie asked him to help out Virgil’s eyes lit up and he sprang into action.

“Yeah! Sure thing, man!” Virgil slide past Jamie and into the kitchen. Then trying to move again but without the traction Virgil began sliding in place until he put is hand out and snapped, causing a small spark of electricity to pop and send him sliding toward the fridge, where Virgil grabbed the fridges and slide safely to a stop. Virgil chuckled to himself, as he had fun, the quibbles still in his stomach from sliding across the floor. Popping open the fridge, Virgil makes a face at the choices, he grabs a few more of what they had been having. They weren’t bad but they weren’t what Virgil was used to drinking but he’d never let Jamie know any of that. Virgil closed the fridge and headed back to Jamie and the coffee table, walking this time, sans sliding. Virgil puts the beers on the coffee table, two in front of Jamie and two where he was about to sit on the couch, giving Jamie some space, if he were to sit on the couch, with plenty of elbow room, but also not so far that if Jamie wanted to sit closer…

I really haven’t been up to much, aside from messing around and causing harmless trouble, as per usual-

I do apologize for how late this response has been. It's been... four months or so since you sent this in? I deeply apologize for such a late reply.

That being said however, It's great to hear you've been doing alright! Even with the harmless trouble you've mentioned. 😊

Hmmm... to answer your question, I do appreciate a good fern....

I suppose I like Spider Ivy! They don't look like a spider thankfully, however, I used to help tend to one in Oswin's room that he let me name as Jim. That alongside a Philodendron that Oswin named as Virgil. (Not after me sadly, nor the Portal Stories: Mel character that I'm named after. But the one from that Thomas Sanders series or so ive been told.)

However in terms of flowers, I like tulips and sunflowers. I think the colours are quite beautiful, and with sunflowers, I love when some grow to be taller than I am! Last year during summer, we grew some in the backyard and it was always so pretty to see through the window. It's also great to work in! I read a good number of books there back when the flowers were in full bloom.

I'm usually the one tending to the garden in our house, so there are other plants I do enjoy, however this summer with the road trip and other more pressing matters, I haven't been able to garden recently.

I have been trying to grow vegetables however! I grew a few onions during August, and I have a small tomato plant that we had to bring inside due to hail.

Lynne usually helps me the most when I'm gardening, which I always appreciate. While Stanley only ever agrees to water the plants solely to occasionally spray me with water from the hose. (I get him back for this all the time. I usually use the mist setting, whereas Stanley likes to use the shower setting.)

v sighs a little as he situates in the chair in hector's penthouse - readying himself for whatever the man had to brief him on today. if he assumed correctly, and v usually did, he likely wanted to send him on another chase for hector's sister; find her - bring her in, alive. harder than zeroing her, but - v had managed much more difficult gigs while the relic was actively chipping away at his brain and making his life a living hell. he stretched his back out, wincing a bit when he feels it crack down his spine, before relaxing back once more as he levels his gaze at the man across from him. v couldn't say that he was quite to the point that he was emotionally invested in the man's endeavor - eddies were eddies after all - but, he understood. v had siblings - past tense, he believes, at least for one of them - and if there was a chance to have them alive and well once more --- v tried to not think on it. the past was the past. he shrugs one shoulder, rubbing a hand at the back of his neck before speaking, "ready as i'll ever be - let's get to it."

7. Your favourite ao3 tag

OUGH. hard one. I do like hurt/comfort... that one is very broad but it is a good one. and is also the most popular in my ao3 bookmarks. so I will say hurt/comfort I think. I do also like Hugs. and Mental Link (this is very surprising to many people I'm sure). also Ambiguous Relationships... and Non-Sexual Intimacy. <3

18. First, second, or third person?

usually third, but I do LOVE second person when it's done right. it can be so so good. both to write and read. I'm not a fan of reader inserts but there's ways to use it for regular narration that HIT. my own fic que morrer é da vida is in second person and I like that one a lot. so is hope is a fragile thing, which is a bit older but I still really like the idea of Empires citizen POVs being in second person (like in the name which I got as a gift in Recursive Exchange inspired by my fic and is also really good).

also: the pray for disaster series is a FANTASTIC example of second person done well. different fandom (MCR's Danger Days) but even if you're not into MCR at all you should still read this. skeppy recommended this once and I read it despite barely knowing anything about the album's lore and I got HOOKED. it's so so good

29. What's the hardest thing about writing?

hm. hard to pick one definitive thing but I would say finishing things. I'm so good at writing things that get abandoned along the way because I lost motivation or inspiration or interest in the characters/fandom/etc, or confidence in the fic in general. admittedly I have been worse at this in the past and since getting into QSMP I've been way better about actually posting fic but I do still struggle with getting things done sometimes

also TITLES. titles are hard. don't always love having to pick titles

Virgil had only been passing through Gotham, well flying actually, either way he only meant to stop in to check in on Wayne, his man Alfred, and anyone else that may be or have been staying at the BATCAVE. He hadn't quite made it to Wayne's when he saw Two-Face, of all people, just sitting at a patio table outside of a café. No one screaming, or freaking out, nothing was out of order or in any sort of disarray, from what Virgil could see. He had to go see what was going on, to answer his questions about Harvey Dent. Virgil knew that Harvey had been a Gotham's District Attorney at one point, some how gone to crime. He also knew that while helping Wayne out, and encountering Harvey, that he more than vibed with him back then and he was still a kid back then. Now Virgil was an adult, understood things a bit better, understood Harvey's motive better now. So seeing the man of law, order and crime sitting civilly at the café table was confusing but it was also intriguing and tempting.

Virgil HAD TO go an talk to this man, that he had known for years technically, even if they had only been in conflict with each other in passing. Leading our viewers back to the present, Virgil's feet being firmly on the ground, his saucer, that he used to fly around, now closed and under his arm, standing near Harvey's table, a genuine smile on Virgil's face. Virgil loved making quips and puns, he was proud of the recent ones he had made to Harvey, as shown with the grin that he worn. It was one of his favorite pasted times while fighting crime, but that didn't mean that it wasn't also something that he enjoyed doing to make people laugh, outside of crime fighting, as well. Virgil had hoped that he would at least get some sort of amused reaction out of Harvey for the clever pun. Harvey's statement intrigued Virgil, holding his attention, he wanted to know more. "I mean that's a fair point." Agreeing with the man to see IF Harvey was receptive to talking with Virgil or not, even if Virgil did actually agree with Harvey at the same time. Virgil looked inquisitively at the chair across the former D.A. "Ya mind if I sit 'nd chat with you?" His tone cheerful and pleasant as he asked hopefully to sit and get to know this man that he had fought more than a few times over the years.

Yeah!! A warning: you have asked very interesting questions and I've been sick all day so I am in a mood to RAMBLE (you have been warned)

1 (how did you get your system name) it's actually a reference xD in the Unexpectables podcast (ttrpg) there's a fragment of a god living in a massive floating crystal above the city of Alivast, and that crystal is called the Attic. The god-shard living within is called Lys, and shows itself as a (porcelain) mask in a realm of porcelain- this bit (and entire podcast) was very emotionally important to our system for a long time, so we sort of just kept it. The other name option was smth perhaps a bit over-flourished; the Myriad Mask system/collective, which we decided against due to wanting to unmask. There were other name options too but they weren't particularly interesting

11 (how did you find out you're plural) in an odd sense we almost always knew. The earliest memories have several voices, but because everyone's always understood manners there was almost never talking over each other- and when there was we were all too distractible to take much notice. This is relevent specifically because we listened to and read A LOT and I mean a METRIC FUCK TON of fantasy books, and one thing that is always said is that "voices in your head generally mean you are going crazy. And that's bad" so logic ruled that if the voices overlapped, then there were multiple, otherwise it's just one that does silly voices (audiobook narrators do that all the time) and thus the conclusion that despite the literal audio drama happening at all times, definitely not multiple voices. Plus we're very good at agreeing about things and talking disagreements out peacably, so of course that was assumed to be how everyone works through information. Fast forward to highschool and everyone(external folks) is blithering about this super wicked-cool thematically cohesive "self" that everyone's about to have, and how it comes with a sense of fashion and a way of speaking and favorite colors, books, animes, etc. Now we all got really good really young at catching on to when something Important is going down (autism masking, really) and started to essentially research what a sense of self was supposed to look like. And proceeded to be horrible at it. Could never decide on any one thing to go with, way to be, item/story/color to favor, or ANY of the things people said you figured out in highschool. Lots of other life events were going on at the same time which really just ended up in a pretty extreme dissociation problem, delaying epiphany a few more years. And yet, epiphany came. Epiphany came in the form of online servers, where other systems talked about their experiences, and it was fascinating! Fascinating to a dangerous degree (everything else this interesting gets permenantly installed in the brain [special interests] or turns out to be awfully Self [like discovering our autism] Relevent) so we asked questions and researched and read people's stories, and had a big sit-down-and-think. And then the fog started to lift. Allowing a possibility of voices, of faces, preferences and general personhoods, was a VERY delicate process, but then the locks came undone and it's been a lovely mess ever since:) we still have the dissociation issues most days, but it's getting better, and even now I'm writing this with Bonrae at my shoulder, and everyone else bickering comfortably in the main room behind me
